Abstract

A broadband magnetoelectric (ME) sensor design comprising of Metglas and piezoelectric ceramic laminate composite is described. The variation in ME coefficient as a function of magnetic dc bias is dependent on the size and shape of the laminate composites, the number of Metglas layers and composite structure of sandwich versus unimorph.

Abstract

The temperature dependence of the electric field-induced birefringence and electro-optic coefficient of Pb0.91La0.09(Zr0.65Ti0.35)0.9775O3 relaxor ferroelectrics were investigated. The remanent birefringence of the poled specimen disappeared around 268 K, thus indicating this to be the freezing temperature.

Abstract

The perovskite structure of PZN ceramics was stabilized by the addition of a Ti-rich side tetragonal PZT after sintering at 1100 degrees C. When 40 % PZT was added, a rhombohedral perovskite phase was formed without any trace of the pyrochlore phase.
