Abstract

The spectroscopic properties of pure and Ce(super 3+) -doped Lu2Si2O7 (LPS) are investigated. Scintillation properties of LPS:Ce are explained in terms of the relative positions of Ce(super 3+) -5d levels and the conduction band.
