Abstract

A linear piston theory is used for the supersonic panel flutter analysis of stiffened, laminated isotropic and anisotropic panels. Three distinct flutter modes exist for different flutter sizes of the stiffened panel. The flutter boundary of the stiffened panel changes with the fiber orientation angle. The plate and beam finite elements of the piston theory depend on the shear-deformable plate and a Timo-shenko beam theory.
