Abstract

The alternating current (ac) susceptibility in rectangular thin-film type-II superconductors are calculated, which is based on the critical-state model and on the minimization of magnetic energy. The studies have shown that ac susceptibility method is an adequate tool for detecting nonhomogeneities in thin superconducting films, such as coated conductors.
