Abstract

Research has been conducted on the mononuclear cis-dimethoxo octahedral Fe(III) complex with a singly deprotonated monoanionic ligand and the dinuclear mu-oxo trigonal bipyramidal Fe(III) complex with a doubly deprotonated dianionic ligand. The syntheses and characterization of these complexes are described.

Abstract

Research has been conducted on 2,4,6-tricyano-1,3,5-triazine. The authors report that the chemical reduction of this compound results in formation of unstable radical anion which dimerizes at a ring carbon.

Abstract

Copper(II) benzoate dimers and linear chains are synthesized and it is seen that they exhibit very different magnetic behaviors. Formation of chains composed of copper dimers bridged with the polydentate 2-(4'-pyridyl)-4,4,5,5-tetramethylimidazoline-3-oxide-1-oxyl (PYNN) ligands leads to enhanced antiferromagnetic coupling.
