A study was conducted to investigate the stereomutation processes associated with dialkylamino ethoxy disulfides by variable temperature nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy. (super 13)C NMR signals of the NCH2 carbons were represented as a function of temperature. Results indicated that the free energies of activation were influenced by dynamic processes associated with the S-S rotation and the N-bonded alkyl groups.

Addition of various sulfur and oxygen-centered radicals to C60, which are believed to add to olefinic double bonds, was investigated with the help of an electron spin resonance study (ESR). Microsyringe methods used degassed solvents and reagents in a nitrogen-flushed compartment to develop saturated solutions of pure C60 benzene or tert-butylbenzene, which consists of 1 to 20 equivalent of alkyl disufides or bis (alkythio) mercury compounds, free of oxygen.
