The first AND logic gate(super 4-6) driven by three chemical inputs as a direct way of detecting congregations of chemical species is presented. The AND gate switches on only when all three ion concentrations have exceeded their respective thresholds which could be adjusted by choosing different receptors or by substitutional tuning of the current set.

Abstract

A departure from the basic template in the formation of nanostructure derived from a ReS(sub2) framework in which the structural motif consists of ReS(Sub4) parallelogram units, which distort from the hexagonal motif, is described. The ability of ReS(sub2) to form such structures is attributed to the ReS(sub 4) parallelogram structural units, which represents the first example of a nonhexagonal based layer structure forming inorganic fullerences.
