A new expression system involving Escherichia coli-Staphylococcus shuttle vector pSPPmABPXM help target heterologous recombinant peptides on Staphylococcus carnosus cell surfaces. A Staphylococcus hyicus lipase polypeptide enables the release of gene fusion products from the cell surface. An LPXTGX motif-containing receptor region, which also contains a charged tail and an hydrophobic C-terminus, and a charged repetitive region X are essential for cell surface anchoring.
