Digital information plays a crucial role in shaping tourists' expectations and impressions of potential destinations and activities. This study explores how perceptions of digital information vary across different tourism experience types (adventure, leisure, cultural) and examines the complex interactions between digital information perception and tourism engagement. A survey was conducted among tourists actively participating in various tourism types to collect data on their digital information consumption habits and their influence on their overall perceptions. The findings reveal that leisure and adventure tourists demonstrate a stronger initial reliance on digital information compared to cultural tourists. However, all tourism types exhibit negative interaction effects, suggesting diminishing returns of digital information as engagement increases. Specifically, leisure and adventure tourism show stronger positive main effects on digital information perception compared to cultural tourism. Interestingly, leisure and adventure tourism also display more pronounced negative interaction effects than cultural tourism. These insights suggest that destination marketers should employ nuanced, personalized strategies catered to specific tourism types, considering the varying levels of digital information reliance and the changing needs of tourists as their engagement progresses. For leisure and adventure tourism, this may involve front-loading comprehensive digital information, while cultural tourism may benefit from a more consistent information flow throughout the experience. These tailored approaches could enhance destination brand affinity and improve the overall tourist experience across different tourism segments.

The rapid evolution of digital technology has led to a transformative era, significantly impact the global economy and daily lives. This study focuses on understanding the factors influence hotel decision-making through digital platforms in South Asia. Also, employed the Optimum Stimulation Level (OSL) theory, the research explores the relationship between awareness, brand, digital information, price, variety and hotel decision-making. Additionally, the inferential statistics study was conducted quantitatively, using data collected from 1431 hotel visitors in the top cities of South Asia through a cross-sectional design. Thus, PLS-SEM were utilised in the study to analyse the hypothesis. Hence, the results indicate significant positive relationships between awareness, brand, digital information, price, variety and hotel decision-making. However, the brand does not moderate the relationship between price and hotel decision-making. These findings offer constructive understandings for industry and academia stakeholders, emphasising the importance of digital platforms in shaping consumer behaviour and hotel selection in South Asia’s hospitality industry.

While innovative technologies significantly influence all organizational activities, information tends to become one of the vital resources of sustainable development. In this direction, the present article aims to present a reflection on the paradigm of innovative technologies - digital information starting from the digital information features and challenges. The methodology used consists of the bibliographic-documentary survey, a review of the literature in the digital information field, its management and its quality, opening new directions of study and analysis on this topic. The data collected in this way were subjected to a qualitative analysis, structured according to thematic sections and the main interest spheres were identified. The results demonstrated a major challenge for responsible parties in terms of information management, assurance and compliance with quality requirements in the age of innovative technologies.

This study investigates the multifactorial relationship between motivation, leadership, organizational culture, digital information, and career development with lecturer performance in private universities in Lampung, focusing on competence as a mediator. In the context of increasingly digitized education, this study aims to provide empirical insights into how these factors interact to influence academic performance. This explanatory research combines quantitative and qualitative approaches, using Structural Equation Modelling (SEM) to analyze data from 307 uncertified lecturers in Lampung. The analysis was conducted with SPSS version 26 and SMARTPLS 3.0, and NVIVO 12 Plus to enrich the interpretation of the findings. The results revealed that organizational culture and digital information positively influenced competence, which in turn contributed to improved lecturer performance. Meanwhile, motivation and leadership did not show significant influence directly, but had indirect effects through competence

Purpose – The academic library’s physical capacity and its service obligations to local users structured the traditional print collection. Largely freed of these constraints, the digital collection manager enjoys unprecedented freedoms but now contends with a collection susceptible to resource sprawl and scope ambiguity. This exploratory study aims to consider the possibility that intra-field social processes help to structure and routinize digital collection practice. Design/methodology/approach – Lacking the constraints to which print collections are subject, electronic resource and digital library collections are more likely to reflect idiosyncratic institutional interests and therefore, to demonstrate significant variation. Evidence of homogeneity may suggest the influence of heretofore underexplored social structures. To determine the extent of such homogeneity, the author performed exploratory/descriptive content analyses on ten electronic resource collection development policies and six digital library collection development policies. Findings – The data reveal among both the electronic resource and digital library collection policies significant uniformity. Content analyses demonstrate consistent themes (e.g. media, audience, selection priorities, etc.) and rhetoric. These findings lend support to the study’s central hypothesis regarding latent social structures. Analyses also reveal a set of unanticipated constraints unique to digital collection management. Originality/value – Despite the breadth and maturity of literature addressing the Digital Turn in academic librarianship, relatively little attention has been paid to the social dimensions of collection management. This work represents an important corrective and suggests new theoretical approaches to the study of digital collection practice.

The study analyzes the level of digital information literacy skills (DILS) of university teachers of Peshawar and its relationship with their certain personal and academic variables. Using survey method of research, a research instrument based on similar studies was administered to the university teachers working in the public sector universities of Peshawar for collecting the data. Total population of this study was comprised of 1678 faculty members in all six public sector universities situated in Peshawar, Pakistan. The research instrument was sent to a sample of 500 faculty members with a representation of 30% from each university. The researchers received back 340 usable questionnaires with 68% response rate. Results indicated that faculty members were comfortable with 13 DILS. They showed least comfort in the use of digital journals, digital books, listserv and discussion groups. The study found that participants were well acquainted in computer usage; however, they were not well versed in searching literature of their choice. Moreover, the study observed significant differences in faculty members’ specialty, educational qualification (degree), their proficiency in English, and the accessibility to computers or laptops at their homes. Similarly, significant difference was also found keeping in view respondents’ sex and societal background. The study concluded that university teachers, in general, lack DILS. The available literature indicates that only a few studies on such kind of topics have been conducted in Pakistan and elsewhere. However, no study till date has examined DILS of teachers of public sector universities in Peshawar, Pakistan. Being a pioneering study, It will help in promoting and organizing digital information literacy programs for faculty members and improve their DILS.

Abstract Background In recent years, the Web has become a source of medical information for patients, even though the information available online may be incorrect or qualitatively inadequate. Younger generations, immersed in a digital environment since a very tender age, are more likely to get informed online. This study aims to understand the relevance of online information for prospective orthodontic patients and to investigate the effects of digital research on patients’ decision-making process, and it also aims to investigate potential generational differences between digital natives and digital immigrants. Materials and methods An anonymous questionnaire was developed to investigate patients’ orthodontic-themed Web searches as well as the effects digital material had on their decision-making process. Before submitting the newly designed survey to patients, it was validated in a pilot study. Univariate analysis was applied to analyze the relationship between the demographic characteristics of respondents and their answers on the use of digital research for the decision-making process. Results 64.6% of the study population searched the Web for orthodontic information prior to their visit. Google was the most used platform regardless of patients’ age. The perceived reliability of online sources varied significantly with age. Men displayed more trusting behavior towards their doctor than women. Prospective patients’ satisfaction with affected patients’ decision-making processes, and the perceived reliability of online sources of information had repercussions on the doctor-patient relationship. Conclusions Orthodontists should be aware that the majority of patients use the Internet as a source for orthodontic information, and that patients who are digital immigrants are more prone to trust the information found online. Patients who perceive the information found on the Web as either useful or reliable don’t easily discard it, even if it is inconsistent with the orthodontist’s opinion.

In recent years, augmented reality (AR) technology has grown, and its use has become widespread among smartphone users. People are consuming more and more digital information from various sources and in different presentation modes. Therefore, in this study, we investigate the extent to which different presentation modes relate to the level of trust in information, while considering demographic variables, as well as personality traits and thinking styles. The participants in our experiments were asked to indicate whether certain statements that were presented in various presentation methods (image + text, image + audio, AR + text, AR + audio) were true or false. The results indicate that users are more likely to trust statements that are accompanied by AR than statements that are accompanied by a static image. In addition, younger participants have greater trust in audio-presented information than text-presented information. As AR is expected to grow considerably in popularity in the next few years, users should be cautious of the potential impact on their trust in digital information while using AR.

In the past, there was a lot of traditional enterprises of a great success for a long time, but today, under the rapid development of the social economy, they have to change to cope better with the possibility of the problem, they must be in information technology and digital technology put more money on, they need to combine information technology and management activities. Agriculture is the basis of the sustainable development of the national economy, the necessary demand of human beings, and the basis of human survival. Therefore, the construction and application of information technology have become an important research topic in the new era. Through the research of this paper, we can understand better how to combine digital information technology with enterprise management. The current research applies such analyses as: logical generalization and сomparison that include clarifying and simplifying the concepts of digital technology and enterprise management; expert evaluation, statistical analysis, data grouping and summary aiming at the research on enterprise market situation, identification, and development of digital technology; factor comprehensive analysis as the method of improving efficiency and productivity by applying digital technology in management; and economic mathematical modeling competitiveness model analysis. The application of computer technology can make information digitization. All the information generated in the operation of enterprises, such as enterprise personnel files, enterprise customer resource information, business financial situation, etc., this huge information, if according to the traditional method, will undoubtedly need to consume more human, material, and financial resources, and low efficiency, increase the cost of work. If computer technology is used to process enterprise information, it will be faster and better to digitize information, facilitate information integration and improve work efficiency, and this information will be very easy to be invoked later, avoiding wasting time to search, and greatly saving human resources. The results analyzed and compared by the author are very useful for the empirical evaluation of the survival and development of Chinese enterprises and even the sustainable economic development of the whole country, and can also provide a reference for the future development and transformation of Chinese traditional enterprises. Based on this, the paper puts forward the methods, and the countermeasures of sustainable economic development in the face of the rapid economic development today. The method proposed by the author can achieve the following results: it can better promote the development of China's economy and can provide substantial help for the transformation of traditional enterprises.

The article сonsiders topical issues of managing the economic stability of organizations in a crisis. The authors substantiate the need to study regional trends as an integral part of the anticrisis program at the regional level. Early diagnosis of crisis phenomena in the economy proves that a sufficiently high level of socio-economic development does not yet ensure complete economic security and the ability to withstand the threats posed by the unbalanced structure of the economy. Based on this, the problems in the field of ensuring the stability of organizations in the conditions of crises have been analysed and generalized. The problems faced by enterprises and organizations of the investment and construction sector of the economy have been considered. In methodological terms, the authors propose to use a system of indicative analysis and regulation of production and economic activities of enterprises of the real sector of the economy, as an organizational tool for resolving crisis situations in the economy. The study justifies the necessity of the introduction of digital technologies, on the basis of which it is possible to quickly implement the tasks set and achieve the expected results. The authors emphasize that we need our own anticrisis programs that to help maintain the sustainable functioning of organizations in the conditions of crisis phenomena.

The authors substantiated the necessity for an epistemological approach to determining the main messages in the digitalization application by agricultural producers, taking into account natural and climatic, commodity-production and social factors.(Research purpose) To formulate the main messages when applying digital technologies in agricultural production, which determine epistemological approaches to their systematic use and allow increasing grain production by 2-3 times on the example of JSC Sokolovo.(Materials and methods) The authors applied a system analysis to agricultural production objects as to information field when describing them in the information space.(Results and discussion) The authors found that agricultural production objects were in an objective multiplicative relationship. Based on the results, a communication scheme between objects in agro-industrial production, reflecting their dialectical commonality was developed. They presented production objects as a resource characterized by a certain set of parameters and values. They showed the multiplicative nature of the resources relationship, describing the nature of the dependence by the method of passage to the limit. The authors identified general information requirements for solving the agriculture problems, crop production and for the means of processing this information in the amount of more than 2 petaflops. They established the necessary resolution for managing technical processes - less than 3 centimeters.(Conclusions) The authors proposed a paradigm for information support of technological processes in agricultural production. They confirmed the legitimacy of this approach to the paradigm formation by creating more than 20 databases. They gave examples of increasing the efficiency of grain production in the Novosibirsk region. The epistemological principles were based on the formulated six messages of information digital technologies, which made it possible to use them in more than 247 520 different combinations and apply to the whole farms variety, depending on their capabilities and desires.

This article deals with the issues of data processing, storage, analysis and optimisation of urban water supply networks using information systems. The water supply network of Aleksotas–Narsiečiai–Mastaičiai–Garliava and surrounding areas is analysed. The absence of hydraulic modelling information system hampers the ability to deal promptly with day-to-day problems, plan repairs and reconstructions of water supply networks, or to analyse further developments and their impact on the system. For the first time, the hydraulic model of the system is being developed for the territory of Kaunas City Municipality in order to simulate the real operation of the system with minimal deviations. Based on the results of the hydraulic model analysis, recommendations are provided on how to rationally adjust the operation of the analysed water supply system and how to develop the drinking water network in a sustainable and coherent way in the future. The Presidential Regulation on e-Government in 2018 became the starting point for accelerating e-Government implementation in Indonesia. This moment prompted government agencies to compete in digitizing their organizations to apply the regulation. Digital information as the output of this massive digitalization will be abundant and must be managed properly which is certainly vulnerable to threats. Such threats can compromise the authenticity of records and make them untrustworthy. An adequate risk detection framework that fits the context of the digital environment is needed to minimize these incidents. This framework contains a records management perspective that has undergone a paradigmatic shift. This framework adopts the view that records management is an integral part of digital information management. The study used a qualitative method and found that from the perspective of records management, the risk detection framework in digital information management sheds light on aspects of context (external and internal), systems, and processes. However, its smooth implementation in the digital environment, especially in Indonesia, is determined by the extent to which paradigmatic reforms in records management have taken place.

The issue of the dual impact of innovative technologies on the sphere of spiritual culture has been considered. On the one hand, the digitalization of cultural values gives hope for their longevity, compared with traditional storage methods. On the other hand, the preservation of cultural heritage is facing new, previously unmet difficulties: the life of digital documents is short due to constant technological improvement and the rapid obsolescence of technology; not all artifacts can be digitized; when knowledge is transmitted through the media, its reduction, vulgarization occurs; finally, the person is changing, for whose sake the preservation of the cultural heritage takes place. Generations possessing clip thinking will have to deal with the fragmented, unsystematic cultural heritage, which is fraught with real cultural amnesia. The new approaches to digital information management and, specifically, digital cultural heritage have been proposed in the article.

The researcher analyze the functions of digital information and technologies that they carry out in the modern criminal process in different countries of the world. Thereby author investigates the essence of digital phenomena and their importance in the further development of criminal procedure legislation. The author identifies three functions implemented by digital information and technologies in criminal proceedings: communicative, evidential and intellectual. As part of the study of the communicative function, the author proposes a classification of countries by the level of implementation of electronic document management in criminal proceedings. The article also describes the features of the implementation of these functions in different countries of the world, along with the problems associated with the use of digital technologies in the criminal process of Russia, as well as ways to resolve them.

Objective: to conduct a detailed and comprehensive analysis of the monograph by I. R. Begishev and I. I. Bikeev devoted to the study of a wide range of issues related to liability for crimes in the field of digital information circulation.Methods: the methodological basis of the study is a set of general and specific scientific methods of cognition traditional for works in Law.Results: the main provisions, conclusions and the authors’ suggestions set out in the reviewed monograph are analyzed, which are related to the legal nature of crimes in the sphere of digital information circulation and regulation of criminal liability for their commission. In particular, the basic definitions of digital information concepts, crimes in the sphere of digital information circulation and other terms are formulated for various branches of knowledge; the problems of “safe computer attack” are considered; based on the authors’ interpretation of crimes in the sphere of digital information circulation, suggestions are made for improving Articles 137, 138, 141, 159.6, 183, 226.1, 272, 273, 274, 274.1 272.1 of the Russian Criminal Code, and complementing Article 272.1 “Acquisition or sale of legally protected digital information, knowingly obtained by criminal means" and Article 273.1 “Illegal circulation of special technical means intended for violation of digital information protection systems”.Scientific novelty: theoretical and applied aspects of countering crimes in the sphere of digital information circulation are evaluated. It is concluded that the monograph makes a significant contribution to the development of the Russian legal doctrine on the legal regulation of responsibility for committing socially dangerous acts in the sphere of digital information circulation.Practical significance: the reviewer concluded that the monograph by I. R. Begishev and I. I. Bikeyev has a practice-oriented character, and can also serve as an impetus for a new scientific discussion on the problems identified in the study.

Due to the advancement of technology, cybercrime has increased considerably, making digital forensics essential for any organisation. One of the most critical challenges is to analyse and classify the information on devices, identifying the relevant and valuable data for a specific purpose. This phase of the forensic process is one of the most complex and time-consuming, and requires expert analysts to avoid overlooking data relevant to the investigation. Although tools exist today that can automate this process, they will depend on how tightly their parameters are tuned to the case study, and many lack support for complex scenarios where language barriers play an important role. Recent advances in machine learning allow the creation of new architectures to significantly increase the performance of information analysis and perform the intelligent search process automatically, reducing analysis time and identifying relationships between files based on initial parameters. In this paper, we present a bibliographic review of artificial intelligence algorithms that allow an exhaustive analysis of multimedia information contained in removable devices in a forensic process, using natural language processing and natural language understanding techniques for the automatic classification of documents in seized devices. Finally, some of the open challenges technology developers face when generating tools that use artificial intelligence techniques to analyse the information contained in documents on seized devices are reviewed.

Objective: to assess the completeness and quality of the dissertation research carried out by I. A. Efremova on “Institute of exemption from punishment in the theory of criminal law, legislative and judicial practice”.Methods: dialectical approach to cognition of social phenomena, allowing to analyze them in their historical development and functioning, which contributed to applying the following research methods: logical, formal-legal, system, analytical, comparative-legal, sociological.Results: the theoretical model of convicts release from criminal punishment formed by the author is analyzed; the assessment is given of the regularities, tendencies and dependences established by the applicant, and of the new knowledge on the institute of release from criminal punishment and its norms.Scientific novelty: the advantages and disadvantages of the dissertation research are revealed; it is established that the dissertation research is an independent, complete scientific and qualification work, representing an advance in science and making a significant contribution to the development of the criminal policy of the state, including the doctrine of exemption from punishment.Practical significance: the main provisions and conclusions set out in the review can be used in scientific, pedagogical, law- making, and law-enforcement activities when considering the application and improvement of the institution of exemption of convicts from criminal punishment.

The aim of the study is to increase the effectiveness of information security management through the use of 5G networks. The transition to the fifth-generation network does not solve the existing problems of information security and leads to the emergence of new threats. The main objective of each modulation method of signals is to ensure high bandwidth, proper transmission quality in a noisy communication channel, using the minimum amount of energy. One of the most effective indicators of increasing the level of information security in wireless networks is quadrature modulation, which is used in such networks as: LTE, WiMAX, McWill, DVB-T (T2), Wi-Fi and other radio access networks [1].One of the promising directions for the development of 5G networks is the use of higher frequency ranges, such as the range of millimeter waves (from 30 to 300 GHz) [2, 3]. A feature of the millimeter wave range is that they provide much wider spectral bands, making it possible to significantly increase the bandwidth in the channels. Thus, when studying prospective protected information systems based on the use of 5G network technology, it is advisable to use a simulation of the signals of the channel-level interaction of subscribers, which allows you to evaluate the basic security parameters at the physical level.Materials and research methods. Fifth generation networks will simultaneously look like any previous generation of mobile networks, and at the same time they will differ significantly from them – and there are a number of explanations that become more obvious if you think about how these changes affect the principles of user and equipment safety networks of the fifth generation.Widespread in the field of digital information transmission, including 5G networks, has received combinational modulation, called quadrature amplitude modulation.Multiposition signals have the greatest spectral efficiency, of which four-position phase modulation and sixteen-position quadrature amplitude modulation are most often used.The quadrature amplitude modulation is a kind of multi-position amplitude-phase modulation, in addition to the phase, the amplitude of the signal for a given type of modulation will also carry information. This leads to the fact that for a given frequency band the amount of transmitted information increases.A brief overview of the existing modulation approaches is presented OFDM (english. Orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing) [4, 5] systems and methods for forming solutions of signal modulation problems for building such systems/Results. Currently, OFDM technology is widely used in modern wireless Internet systems. High data transfer rates in OFDM systems are achieved using parallel information transfer over a large number of orthogonal frequency subchannels (subcarriers) [6].The method of synthesizing signal-code constructions with orthogonal frequency multiplexing provides for different scenarios for the use of semi-square modulation depending on the requirements for interception protection, as well as balancing between spectral and energy efficiency. This method can be used in two cases: with alternative and consistent transmission of signals. In the case of alternative transmission, only one of the four subcarriers is used during one channel interval. For efficient use of bandwidth, the proposed method involves the use of the spectrum of three other subcarriers for data transmission in D2D channels (this creates a connection between two user devices that are in close proximity), which allows you to further avoid interference between fixed channels and D2D communication channels.Findings. At present, 5G networks can be considered as one of the necessary components of the digital transformation and digital economy, while the main task in ensuring security in cellular communications is protection against eavesdropping. However, in the future world of smartphones and the Internet of things, in environments with a large number of mechanisms, the probability of listening is likely to fade into the background. Instead, you have to think about such things as data manipulation attacks, which, for example, can be used to command the mechanisms to perform certain actions (for example, open the door or take control of an unmanned vehicle). Mobile network operators, like consumer electronics manufacturers, will be able to offer “security as a service,” with the result that application providers will be able to apply additional levels of security over existing secure cellular network channels when transferring certain types of data. [7] Due to the better spectral density, the proposed signal conditioning method makes it possible to use prototypes of window functions with the best spatial localization properties without violating the orthogonality condition of the signal bases, and accordingly does not require the use of cyclic prefixes when generating the OFDM signal.

An infodemic represents a concern for public health, influencing the general population’s perceptions of key health issues. Misinformation is rapidly spread by social media, particularly among young generations. We used data from the WHO “Social Media and COVID-19” study, which was conducted in 24 countries worldwide on over 23,000 subjects aged 18–40 years, to explore Generation Z and Millennials’ models for health-information-seeking behaviors on social media. We summarized data on the most used sources of information, content of interest, and content sharing, as well as the sentiment toward the infodemic, through descriptive statistics and Chi-square test to verify the differences between groups. Among the survey respondents, 9475 (40.3%) were from high-income countries (HIC), 8000 (34.1%) from upper-middle-income countries (UMIC), and 6007 (25.6%) from lower-middle-income countries (LMIC). Social media were the most used sources of information to retrieve news on COVID-19 disease (about 79% in HIC, 87% in UMIC, and 90% in LIC) and the COVID-19 vaccine (about 78% in HIC and about 88% in UMIC and LIC). More than a half of the young respondents declared that they pay attention to scientific contents (about 51% in HIC, 59% in UMIC, and 55% in LMIC). Finally, most young participants reported feeling overwhelmed by the infodemic. However, this sentiment did not stop them from seeking information about COVID-19. Our findings highlight the importance of shaping public health interventions and campaigns on social media platforms and leveraging scientific contents. Public health authorities should work also on strategies to improve the digital literacy of the population as a driving force to empower them and achieve better health outcomes.

Due to the rapid development of sensor technology and the popularity of the Internet, not only has the amount of digital information transmission skyrocketed, but also its acquisition and dissemination has become easier. The study mainly investigates audio security issues with data compression for private data transmission on the Internet or MEMS (micro-electro-mechanical systems) audio sensor digital microphones. Imperceptibility, embedding capacity, and robustness are three main requirements for audio information-hiding techniques. To achieve the three main requirements, this study proposes a high-quality audio information-hiding technology in the wavelet domain. Due to the fact that wavelet domain provides a useful and robust platform for audio information hiding, this study applies multi-coefficients of discrete wavelet transform (DWT) to hide information. By considering a good, imperceptible concealment, we combine signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) with quantization embedding for these coefficients in a mathematical model. Moreover, amplitude-thresholding compression technology is combined in this model. Finally, the matrix-type Lagrange principle plays an essential role in solving the model so as to reduce the carrying capacity of network transmission while protecting personal copyright or private information. Based on the experimental results, we nearly maintained the original quality of the embedded audio by optimization of signal-to-noise ratio (SNR). Moreover, the proposed method has good robustness against common attacks.

Formation of e-governance has resulted in the leading role of information in the digital society. Thus, the main feature of the information society is the participation of all members of the society in the interchange of information. Therefore, information creativity has become a subject of discussion as a modern form of freedom of artistic creativity. Of course, this is not about simple information, but rather the creation of knowledge, which is the most superior form of information. Such information creativity makes necessary to regulate intellectual property issues and restrictions on information creativity. In the article werer analyzed these issues and were put forward suggestions and recommendations.

The paper is intended as an exploration of the potential methodology for hypercomputing using the long intellectual experience of the study of morphology and morphogenesis. The first part of the paper shows that the missing element of the process of computation in the studies searching for the generalization of computation is encoding. Turing Machines can work only on information encoded in a very specific way. When we look for ways to generalize computation, the analysis of encoding is the most likely source of ideas for the extension of this concept. The second part of the paper is an exploration of the history of morphogenesis from the perspective of the search for a method of unconventional encoding information.

The selection of relevant information and its effective management is not a simple task and requires specific competencies. This study is aimed at exploring the competency of university students with regards to personal information management (PIM). The objective is to identify the problems in PIM and to provide a framework for improving it. For this study, the sample consisted of 400 undergraduate students randomly selected from a large public-sector university in Islamabad. The data were collected through a questionnaire with closed and open-ended items. The closed-ended items were analyzed through cross tabs and Chi-square tests to find a relationship between specific PIM competencies in different programs. The questionnaire items helped in acquiring information about students' specific competencies in PIM were categorized as ‘low', ‘moderate' and ‘high' competency. The students identified the problems they faced in PIM and suggested ways for improving it. The findings of this study will help in improving organization and application of information, and also in exploring further avenues of research in improving PIM skills of university students in the developing countries.

This paper will, therefore, present the available literature on the subject to discuss the present context, the main challenges, as well as the concept of smart cities, with future cities relying on the mobility and evolution of transport systems for smart, sustainable, resilient, and inclusive mobility. As a result of the research, it is possible to infer that an integrated smart mobility approach can support the efficiency of all transport networks for everyone, today and tomorrow, while faced with the threat of climate change and the challenges of citizens.

E-commerce has revolutionized business, changing the shape of competition with internet creating an e-commerce market place. With developments in the Internet and Web-based technologies, distinctions between traditional markets and the global electronic marketplace are gradually being narrowed down. In the last period of time, Moldova has shown tremendous growth in the Ecommerce. Growing use of the PC and Internet is one of reasons for that. The present paper mainly aims to discuss the role of Internet and E-commerce in economic growth.

The present article focuses on the (sometimes problematic) relationship between digital information and certain legal fields. Most legal rules developed long before the arrival of the computer and the digital telephone, and these rules are now under considerable strain to adapt. Digital information is rapidly becoming one of the 21st Century’s most valuable assets. This raises the question as to whether or not the law is able to adequately protect this phenomenon against the many attacks being launched against it. The present article analyses certain legal fields in this regard, namely privacy, criminal law, and the law of evidence. The world seems suddenly to have woken up to the fact that digital technology might be a mixed blessing, especially as is shown by certain recent incidents relating to privacy in the USA. In order to obtain an “Africa perspective” the legal situation in South Africa is compared to that in Uganda (East Africa) against a background of multilateral treaties that might apply in this regard. An important point to keep in mind while weighing up legal interests is whether the State may attempt to be both neutral umpire (by means of its judicial power) as well as one of the players who want to win (as the executive power, when government information is at stake). A number of recent incidents in which the United States government has been involved seem to indicate that this attempt to sit on two stools at the same time is likely to diminish respect for the government (and its regulatory efforts) amongst the general population. A specific problem with enforcement consists of the international nature of infringements. The Internet knows no borders and this factor suggests that effective international co-operation is an essential prerequisite for the law to function adequately in an international context. The concluding of International treaties between groupings of countries is put forward as perhaps the most effective solution in this regard.

Tourism communication is a well-known concept among professionals who think of it as being related to marketing, but it is rarely used by researchers. Over the last fifty years a lot of research has been produced in the fields of communication and information science concerning the media, organizations, the archives, and the circulation of information, in particular digital information. This research can be applied to the domain of tourism in a productive manner. This text explores some of the possibilities opened up by this approach.

Special attention is afforded to documentation issues, the differences that may exist between documentary data bases and the general philosophy of document management. Moreover technical issues in carrying out business transactions involving images over the web are also analyzed.

Se observa la evolución, desarrollo y expansión del periodismo y la documentación digital a partir de los orígenes de las redacciones digitales y la aparición y surgimiento de documentalistas digitales al servicio de esos medios. La llegada de Internet ha colocado a los medios (grandes, medianos y pequeños) en una posición difícil de entender para editores, redactores, documentalistas, gestores y también para los usuarios/ lectores que tienen una nueva percepción de la realidad informativa. En menos de una década este modelo se quebró. Ante esto, los documentalistas han modelado una forma nueva de enfrentarse a la información, de atender las peticiones de la redacción y de gestionar su propio trabajo. Se propone un seguimiento, un estudio y un desarrollo de los medios digitales y de su información basados en la óptica de la documentación y el estudio de casos en cuatro de los grandes periódicos nacionales.Evolution, development and expansion of journalism and digital documentation are observed with basis on the origin of digital writing and the surging of digital documentalists who serve these media. The arrival of Internet has put big, medium and little media in a difficult position to understand for editors, writers (proof-readers) documentalists and administrators to understand, and also users/readers that now have a new perception of informative reality. In less than a decade, the previous model has broken down. In order to face this situation specialists have modeled a new way of confronting information, attending proof-reader's questions and confronting their own work. A research and follow-up of digital media and its information is proposed, under the perspective of documentation and the case study of four of the big national newspapers.

This article investigates how information technology applications can support the legal research process and what the benefits of technology are likely to be to legal research. Furthermore, it investigates the changes and the impact that electronic resources and the digital information environment might have on legal research. This entails a study of the unique characteristics of digital legal research and of the challenges that legal researchers face in a changing information environment.

無To preserve information is an important work for the library because information is the key element for the existence of the library. The digital library will become the necessary trend of the library in the future. However we have so far ignored the fact that the changing technology rnay become a hazard for using the digital information in the future. The purpose of preservation is to enable our future generation to read the past human knowledge. When we explore how to organize the digital information, we should also pay a close attention to matters related to how the information can be stored and accessed. On the other side, digital information need to select like as paper. As the large of resource , cost and staff probably can effect the permanent preservation and quality. Therefore, what kind of data should digitize and has the value to preservate permanently. Meanwhile what problem will be faced to? how to solve and what its development is? .....and so on. I expect there is a clear outline by this article exploring.

The copyright law in effect in Israel today is the 1911 law signed by King George V and absorbed into Israel's legal code with the termination of the British Mandate in 1948. Althoughsome minor amendments and changes were made over the years, a total revision, that would be in accordance with the changes brought on by the digital age, as well as those necessitated as a result of international treaties, is long overdue. Yet, Israel has been slow in amending its copyright legislation, its enforcement of copyright has been inadequate, and the new copyright law has been in the making for years. This article describes and analysis intellectual ownership rights in Israel today, with a particular emphasis on the difficulties of implementing and enforcing a law that did not foresee digital information.

The prevelance of digital information raised issues regarding the suitability of conventional library tools for organizing information. The multi-dimensionality of digital resources requires a more versatile and flexible representation to accommodate intelligent information representation and retrieval. Ontologies are used as a solution to such issues in many application domains, mainly due to their ability to explicitly specify the semantics and relations and to express them in a computer understandable language. Conventional knowledge organization tools such as classifications and thesauri resemble ontologies in a way that they define concepts and relationships in a systematic manner, but they are less expressive than ontologies when it comes to machine language. This paper used the controlled vocabulary at the Gateway to Educational Materials (GEM) as an example to address the issues in representing digital resouces. The theoretical and methodological framework in this paper serves as the rationale and guideline for converting the GEM controlled vocabulary into an ontology. Compared to the original semantic model of GEM controlled vocabulary, the major difference between the two models lies in the values added through deeper semantics in describing digital objects, both conceptually and relationally.

No quadro de um projeto epistemológico, apresenta-se um breve estudo crítico de cinco princípios científicos que direcionam e caracterizam, atualmente, os novos paradigmas informacionais presentes na Ciência e na Tecnologia da Informação Digital. Nessa disciplina, seja para a construção de conhecimentos científicos, para a produção de informações científicas, para a comunicação dessas informações ou para usos na Ciência e na Tecnologia da Informação Digital, novas estruturas intelectuais são mobilizadas; os princípios científicos existem e caracterizam paradigmas científicos e tecnológicos. Adotados por alguns cientistas da informação, objetados ou desvirtuados por outros, essas estruturas intelectuais encontram-se mais ou menos estabilizadas. Por outro lado, fortes determinantes sociológicos, econômicos e políticos contribuem para confundi-las; e a explosão tecnológica mesmo aceita, agrega forte instabilidade.
