Micro‐/nanomotors (MNMs) in water remediation have garnered significant attention over the past two decades. More recently, metal‐organic framework‐based micro‐/nanomotors (MOF‐MNMs) have been applied for environmental remediation; however, a comprehensive summary of research in this research area is yet to be reported. Herein, a review is presented to cover the recent advances in MOF‐MNMs and their various applications in wastewater remediation. The review presents a comprehensive introduction to MNMs, including different propulsion approaches, fabrication, and functionalization strategies, in addition to the unique features of MOF‐MNMs. The conception and various synthetic routes of MOF‐MNMs are extensively covered and the implementation of MOF‐MNMs in water‐related applications, including adsorption, degradation, sensing, and disinfection of different pollutants, is in depth discussed. Meanwhile, the propulsion and mechanism of action behind each MOF‐MNM are systematically studied. Finally, the review provides insights into the challenges and perspectives to build more effective MOF‐MNMs to cover versatile applications for wastewater treatment.

The quantity of aging concrete infrastructure deteriorating rapidly is increasing, as are the costs of repairing these structures. The management of interventions on reinforced concrete structures is not always optimal. This is due to the absence of a comprehensive protocol capable of uniformly guiding engineers in their choices regarding the priority and types of work to be carried out on their structures. This lack of decision-making assistance results in interventions that are not always optimal in terms of costs and durability. It is therefore important to establish a diagnostic methodology in order to properly specify the origin of the damage. This will improve the interpretation of defect symptoms and therefore facilitate the subsequent choice of actions and materials required during the intervention on the structure. This study presents a methodology developed with the aim of standardizing, rationalizing, and integrating the different stages required to achieve optimal and quality interventions into a management tool. Three activities are essential in order to systematize the approach to refurbishment or maintenance of concrete structures: the diagnosis of deterioration, the evaluation of the relevance of interventions, and the selection of appropriate methods and products for refurbishment.

The reliability of photovoltaic (PV) modules is essential for ensuring a smooth operation over the anticipated timespan while operating outside. Examining the degradation in field-exposed photovoltaic (FEPV) modules will help to identify the possible degradation modes that can affect PV module performance and functioning. In this paper, to identify the major modes of degradation in Indian subtropical climate conditions, 20-year-old FEPV modules have been investigated by cross-characterization using dark lock-in thermography (DLIT) and electroluminescence (EL) imaging. Cross-characterization using EL and DLIT images has been helpful in investigation of various modes of degradations in FEPV modules in the presence of multiple degradations. Encapsulant and busbar ribbon interface degradations have been identified as the two main modes of degradation observed in Indian sub-tropical climate conditions. Minor degradations include finger interruptions and cell cracks. A major effect of degradation has been observed on the fill factor and short circuit current, which have decreased by up to 30% and 40%, respectively. The results presented in this paper can be used to understand degradation occurring in a sub-tropical climate and for the non-destructive analysis of degradations in the FEPV modules.

As one of the five major engineering plastics, polyamide brings many benefits to humans in the fields of transportation, clothing, entertainment, health, and more. However, as the production of polyamide increases year by year, the pollution problems it causes are becoming increasingly severe. This article reviews the current recycling and treatment processes of polyamide, such as chemical, mechanical, and energy recovery, and degradation methods such as thermal oxidation, photooxidation, enzyme degradation, etc. Starting from the synthesis mechanism of polyamide, it discusses the advantages and disadvantages of different treatment methods of polyamide to obtain more environmentally friendly and economical treatment schemes. Finding enzymes that can degrade high-molecular-weight polyamides, exploring the recovery of polyamides under mild conditions, synthesizing environmentally degradable polyamides through copolymerization or molecular design, and finally preparing degradable bio-based polyamides may be the destination of polyamide.

Plant secondary metabolite (PSM) degradations and feed breakdown into small particles may occur primarily in the rumen. It is possible to predict the rate and extent of feed disappearance in the rumen during incubation by different in vitro techniques, which differ based on the PSM structures, including phenolics, and flavonoids. However, PSM degradation and conversion efficiency in the rumen remains unclear. This study’s objective was to evaluate the in vitro degradation of a group of PSMs in the rumen fluid, collected from Hanwoo steer samples. PSMs including rutin, vitexin, myricetin, p-coumaric acid, ferulic acid, caffeic acid, quercetin, luteolin, propyl gallate, and kaempferol were used in their pure forms at 1mg/250 mL in a rumen fluid buffer system. The mixture of selected PSMs and buffer was incubated at 39 °C for 12–72 h, and samples were collected every 12 h and analyzed by a high-performance liquid chromatography-diode array detector (HPLC-DAD) to determine the biotransformation of the polyphenolics. The results revealed that the luteolin, ferulic acid, caffeic acid, coumaric acid, rutin, myricetin, vitexin, kaempferol, and quercetin were decreased after 12 h of incubation in the rumen fluid (p ≤ 0.05) and were more than 70% decreased at 72 h. In contrast, the propyl gallate concentrations were not significantly changed after 24 h of incubation in rumen fluid compared to other metabolites. Finally, microbial dynamics study showed that the Firmicutes, Bacterodetes, Actinobacteria, and Syngergistetes were the dominant phyla found in rumen fluids. The data suggest that most polyphenolic compounds may degrade or reform new complex structures in the rumen.

A study on degradations mangrove forest due to firewood exploitation by coconut palm sugar home industry in Cilacap. Information on social economic aspect and respons of coconut palm sugar home industry to using fuel substitutions were collected by using a questioner. The potential of mangrove as a firewood source was estimated by quadrat method. The study has been carried out on dry and rainy season. The wood production of available 8000 ha of mangrove from Cilacap primarily Rhizophora apiculata Linn and Rhizophora mucronata Lamk were 3.249.920 m³. The results showed that the declining of mangrove was about 19,250 m² in dry season and 26,551 m² in rainy season, this was correlated with the amount of nira to be processed that was 0,782 m³ in dry season and 1,079 m³ in rainy season.
