These days, management studies and domestic economic and sociological research frequently employ the term “driver.” Additionally, this concept’s cognitive capacity is significantly reduced by the lack of an agreed-upon definition. The article’s purpose is to demonstrate the concept of “drivers” heuristic potential for sociological analysis of issues related to the growth of sociohumanitarian research in Russian universities. Three components of the university’s social structure—academic ethics compliance, graduate school, and online academic communities— are regarded as internal drivers of socio-humanitarian research in Russian universities after firstconceptualizing the term “driver” from the standpoint of sociological theory. Study design. This is a pilot project that uses secondary data analysis as its foundation. The information theory developed by K. Shannon provides the theoretical framework that enables us to identify the characteristics of the driver that set it apart from other system mediating components. The frameworks of institutional analysis and the theory of social action are used in the process of sociological conceptualization. This enables us to draw attention to the social system’s motivator’s subjective element. Results. A general definition of the concept of a driver is given, and two of its key attributes — its requirement and information recoding — are emphasized. It is demonstrated that the sociological reading of the driver is linked to an evaluation of the degree of functionality of the effects of its operation on the social structure. The personal qualities of the individuals involved in its work define the nature of these consequences. In this sense, the driver can influence the social system’s growth as well as its stagnation. University research can be internally motivated by a variety of factors, such as upholding academic ethics standards, successfully implementing postgraduate programs, and founding and moderating online academic communities. The novelty of the results obtained is associated with the implementation of technical terms into socio-humanitarian knowledge, which made it possible to give a more rigorous definition of the concept of driver in relation to the analysis of social changes and processes. The article will be of interest to science administrators at universities.

This article looks at academic deviation practices from the viewpoint of graduate students, as well as whether or not they find certain types of deviant behavior in science and education acceptable. The theoretical framework consisted of two mutually exclusive approaches to the interpretation of academic deviations: the normativist R. Descartes and the epistemic anarchism of P. Feyerabend. The study purpose is to evaluate graduate students in socio-humanitarian scientific specializations regarding the prevalence and attitude toward academic deviation. Main hypothesis: postgraduate students’ views regarding academic deviations, especially plagiarism, fall on a continuum, ranging from total denial to total acceptance. Research design: quantitativequalitative. Empirical base: online survey (1276 respondents, including 185 graduate students), 5 focus groups. Methods of analysis: cluster analysis using the k-nearest neighbors method, qualitative analysis of focus group materials. Main results. It was discovered that creating crib sheets was the most prevalent form of academic deviation among graduate students. Of the respondents, 66% selected “often” and “very often” as their options. The purchase of exams, abstracts, and coursework showed the least amount of variation. Ten percent of those surveyed said that graduate students used plagiarism frequently or extremely frequently. Based on their attitudes regarding plagiarism, five distinct groups could be identified using cluster analysis, three of which would be more tolerant of it. Simultaneously, two of the five groups place the blame on students, and three see plagiarism as a result of the educational system’s failure to some extent. Directions for further research are related to the analysis of other forms of deviation, for example, practices of academic collusion within a university, as well as a description of the objective reasons for graduate students committing academic deviations, consideration of the prevalence of academic deviations of graduate students as a sign of a crisis in the normative foundations of the institution of graduate school.

Background. The possibility of inducing immunological tolerance in allogeneic organ transplant recipients is a research goal of the transplantology community, as it will ensure the likelihood of complete engraftment of a foreign organ. However, such a task presently remains difficult to accomplish.Objective: to demonstrate longterm kidney graft survival without signs of acute rejection and without immunosuppressive therapy in a patient who underwent allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (allo-HSCT) from a haploidentical donor for post-transplant lymphoproliferative disorder (PTLD).Methods and materials. Recipient’s graft function was assessed using clinical, laboratory, instrumental and pathomorphological examination methods. Results. With no immunosuppressive therapy for more than four years, the kidney recipient showed stable, satisfactory graft function.Conclusion. The described clinical case demonstrates the development of immunological tolerance to a kidney graft in a recipient of allogeneic hematopoietic stem cells (HSCs).

The subject of the article is the political values of the youth of Russia and Europe.The purpose of our study is to identify the political values of the Youth of Russia and Europe and conduct a comparative analysis based on the methodology of comparative analysis. Four hypotheses are tested that suggest the values of young people, regardless of the region or country of residence, are common, despite the differences in forms of government, political culture, living standards and traditions of the respondents.The main research tasks were: 1. Identification of common value orientations of modern youth studying at universities. 2. Determination of the type of cultural mentality (according to the methodology of Russian American sociologist Pitirim Sorokin) of the youth of Russia and European countries included in the sample. 3. Determining the place of politics and the opportunity to participate in policymaking in the system of values of today's youth. 4. Identification of attitudes (loyalty / acceptance / non-acceptance) to modern democratic values, as well as identification of the preferred form of political governance among young people. 5. Determination of the desired type of taxation. 6. Establishing the relationship between political values and quality of life. 7. Determining the understanding of the components of happiness (wellbeing) and the meaning of life of modern youth. 8. Diagnosis of the degree of involvement in politics/apathy of today's youth.The main results, scope of application. Study made it possible to introduce into contemporary science a new term "integral model of values" – an interconnected set of several life values of a person, each of which describes individual components of values, to form a complete and comprehensive idea of the value system of certain social groups. Empirical study made it possible to identify the basic components of the integral model of values of modern youth in Russia and Europe in a comparative aspect. Under the integral model of values, authors mean an interconnected set of several private value models of a person (mentality, basic human and social values, life satisfaction and a subjective feeling of happiness, political views and actions, cultural values, etc.), each of which describes individual components of values, and all together they form a complete and comprehensive idea of the value system of certain social groups. In the structure of the integral model of youth values, authors included: mentality, political values, political mobility and a system of universal values. In accordance with this structure, we present the results of our study.Conclusions. Authors not only managed to identify the already established values and, on the basis of them, draw up an integration model of the values of the youth of Russia and Europe through their comparison, but also to determine the needs of today's youth for certain values.

Purpose. The purpose of this paper is to provide modes of teaching Russian undergraduate students fundamental critical analysis of scientifc papers and ways of identifying misinformation and disinformation in “Academic Writing” discipline. design/methodology/approach. “Academic Writing” discipline was taught to frst-year undergraduate students by scientifc library experts. At a starting period students were asked to complete a questionnaire and perform a test, and then write an essay to identify how students were able to assess Web scientifc literature and verify their “tolerance” to inaccurate and fake scientifc information. Then contact hours on theory and practice of identifying and assessing information were introduced into the curriculum. At the end of the semester lists of works cited in original essays and fnal assays were compared.Findings. The fndings reveal that entirely all frst year undergraduate students lack the ability to differentiate between qualitative certain scientifc information and misinformation and disinformation, and they willingly borrow anything from the Web. However, students acquired necessary skills to assess information critically using socio-technical systems infrastructures.This was demonstrated with list of literature analysis in students’ essays and peer-checking. originality. It is headline news and social networks when it is necessary to distinguish from authentic and inaccurate information. However, skills of critical assessment of scientifc publications are of vital importance at a starting period of studies. In publications of that sort falsifcations, fabrications and other fake discoveries can lead to reputational and fnancial risks, and then trigger unethical demeanour of future researchers. It is qualifed librarians being experts in electronic resources and data based use who are able to get students to “digital hygiene”.Practical implications. The results of the paper can be used for teaching in university curriculum. Embedding information literacy and academic writing as well as involving information resources into students’ curriculum are aimed at the ability to identify misinformation and disinformation. Librarian-developed “Academic writing” discipline component might be introduced into curriculum as a self-contained short course or a composing element of any students’ academic discipline. All this mitigate the risks of applying low-equality, unverifed and openly fake information in educational and scientifc works.

Purpose is to identify the main trends and gaps in the research of foreign scientists on the topic “Game modeling of political space”.Methods. In this review, the authors used a semi-systematic method of researching the literature, in which at the first stage they used quantitative methods, and then the selected array of publications was investigated by the integrative method, revealing theoretical studies and practical results of the application of game political components.Results. Based on the selected foreign publication stream on the topic “game modeling of political space” by the method of semi-systematic analysis, six main trends in the study and application of game theory and game modeling in political discourse have been identified:considering the value of game modeling through the prism of interaction, not collision of actors;application of game modeling in the development and adoption of political decisions;development of new approaches to the analysis of the very methodology of game modeling in politics;game as a form of effective political communication;study of game theory on the basis of fundamental classical monographs of the mid-20th century as applied to the solution of pressing political problems;application of game modeling in predicting election results, especially in those political systems that are based on the theory of rational choice during voting.A lacuna in the studies of recent decades has identified the issue of using political game modeling in electoral processes. Despite the continuing relevance of the topic of elections around the world, no significant volume of publications was selected.Conclusions. Foreign researchers use the potential of game modeling in politics more often and more multifaceted than in domestic political science. Evolutionary game-theoretic models are used not only to model political and international processes themselves, but also to related social spheres, such as economics, religious and ethnic relations. Game theory is used to study a wide range of social and political problems and social phenomena: voting, fundamentalism, religious and ethnic conflicts, civil violence.

The purpose of this article is to identify and analyze the ideas currently available in world science and practice among foreign researchers on the Social Credit System (SCS). The article analyzes the basic principles of SCS, which allowed us to draw the following conclusions: the social credit system for China is very close to ours mentally and historically, it fits well with the management paradigm based on the principles of Confucianism and Taoism, its main task is to promote the formation of citizens’ behavior based on openness, following rituals.The main conclusions are made, such as the fact that this system allows you to put into practice the principle of the golden mean, that the application of SCS will contribute to the formation of citizens’ behavior on the basis of openness, following rituals and the desire for peace of mind. The formation of the population’s habit of living in the context of SCS, as the authors believe, will help to increase the sincerity of life. An analysis of the materials of foreign researchers was carried out in the article, which gave reason to conclude that the social credit system, launched in China, so far scares the rest of the world. In this regard, the article discusses the five main fears associated with SCS, as well as the five advantages of introducing this system, draws conclusions, and develops recommendations.

Purpose — The purpose of this paper is a pilot study of e-communications in three Russian firms to assess the culture of conflict resolution and the impact of strategies on employee retention at these firms. Design/methodology/approach — Qualitative and quantitative research through a questionnaire and observation method to confirm the results. We use questionnaires by spontaneous sampling with quota elements; employees of the three selected firms have an equal chance of getting into an anonymous sample. Findings — The culture of conflict in any organization should include professional mediation (fulfilled either by professional instructor or by a specially trained HR-specialist). All members of the organizational “family” should be informed that dealing with conflict and solving it is much better and productive than hiding and suppressing it.Research limitations/implications — The paper shows the first results of the conflict study. It shows obvious drawbacks of contemporary empirical conflict solving. Further research should explore the effects of the recommendations we made and their fulfillment.Originality/value — The article assesses the main conflict triggers in Russian organizations of various sizes. It also reveals the key assumptions that both workers and employers have that prevent them from effectively resolving conflicts. Based on empirical results, we have developed practical recommendations on conflicts that will be useful not only for managing the organizations we have studied but also for those who have ever encountered a conflict at work.

The issues of pathogenesis of cryptosporidiosis in pigs are studied. The cryptosporidiosis infection at experimental and spontaneous infection may lead to significant morphological changes in the pigs body: the number of leukocytes is increased, hemoglobin concentration and the number of erythrocytes are decreased, the blood sedimentation rate (ESR) varies from 1,9 to 2,7 mm/h. The protein composition of blood serum is marked by decrease in total amount of protein as well as a gradual fall of albumin and gammaglobulin levels. The activity of alkaline and acid phosphatase is elevated which proves the metabolic activity pointing at the body intoxication. Significant changes in redox processes are being observed. Blood sugar is going down and blood pyroracemic acid is increasing which testifies to disorders of carbohydrate metabolism.

Cognitive and value dissonances of the modern world, as well as the shifting balance in the “Technology-nature-society-man” system cause the need to rethink key development strategies, determine the guidelines that education should be guided by in order to be able to respond to the growing global challenges of modernity. The special acuteness of the modern formulation of this problem is due to the new format of the geopolitical life of the Russian Federation and the associated restructuring of many social institutions of the country, in particular, science and education.The article raises the question of the leading paradigm of domestic engineering education, considered in the prism of a specialist-engineer model that meets the requirements of the modern stage of society.Education standards have changed dramatically and repeatedly in their target characteristics over the past twenty years. The article considers the features of the competence model of specialist presented in the modern version of the Federal State Educational Standards of higher education (FSES HE). It is shown that the existing version of FSES does not fully meet the requirements for specialists in the modern world. In addition to highly professional knowledge and skills, future engineers need contextual, meta-professional and soft knowledge and skills for life and successful professional activity.World practice shows that one of the promising areas of training engineers is a project-oriented approach, which emphasizes the practical orientation of higher education. The authors have shown that the recognized international standards of engineering education in the fields of technology, natural and applied sciences (CDIO, STEM education) basically coincide with the world-known and repeatedly tested “Russian method of training engineers”, integrating broad fundamental education in the field of natural sciences and humanities and technological practice at advanced innovative enterprises. This experience which has already given the world great engineers and adapted at the same time to the modern technological capabilities of its transmission can become a fulcrum in a transitive world.

Higher education today is not going through the best of times: decisions taken in the educational process at various levels (Federal Laws “On Education in the Russian Federation” of 29.12.2012 No 273-FZ and “On Amendments to the Federal Law “On Education in the Russian Federation” on the education of students” of 31.07.2020 No 304-FZ, Federal State Educational Standards of Higher Education, etc.), related to global changes taking place in society and in the world in recent decades, were made without careful didactic study. This cannot help to improve the quality of specialist training. Teachers are forced to work “by trial and error”, producing countless didactic documents. At present, identification of didactic problems in the educational process of higher educational institutions is extremely relevant due to the expansion of the field of didactic research in higher school pedagogy.The aim of the authors was to analyze some of the most relevant didactic phenomena in the digital reality that have not yet received proper understanding. As a result of the analysis, some important didactic problems of higher education are identified, concerning goal-setting, compliance of teaching with classical didactic principles, organization of distance learning in electronic informational and educational environment, mixed and project-based learning. The article also dwells on psychological problems of Internet content assimilation and “non-contact” interaction between the subjects of the educational process, etc. The most promising areas of didactic research in higher education, including the development of interdisciplinary contacts, are highlighted.

The attractiveness of the University in the world market of educational services is an indicator of its success, which is estimated by a set of criteria including the number of foreign students studying there. For Russian universities, the number of international students is one of the key indicators of internationalization. The authors pay special attention to the criterion of internationalization of higher education in the world ranking of universities. The article provides data related to measures to attract young foreigners to study in higher education institutions of the Russian Federation, including the Volgograd State Technical University. Today, an interest in engineering professions among foreign applicants has increased markedly. The effectiveness of the learning process among foreign students, their achievement levels strongly depend on the success of their adaptation to the new socio-cultural environment. The article addresses the problems of language adaptation of foreign students who came from the former Soviet republics, mainly on the example of students from Turkmenistan.

The article is devoted to faculty staff and students of the Stalingrad mechanical Institute who were the participants of the Great Patriotic war and home front workers, considers the destiny of the city and the University as one for two. The authors describe the activities of scientists, teachers and students of the Stalingrad Mechanical Institute during the Great Patriotic War, both during the Battle of Stalingrad and in evacuation in Chelyabinsk. The subject of scientific and applied work devoted to solving a number of technical problems on the creation, improvement and repair of military equipment, mainly the most massive tank of the Great Patriotic War T-34, rocket launchers «Katyusha» and several others. The results of a sociological survey of Volgograd students about their attitude to the Battle of Stalingrad are given. More than 70% of respondents are aware of the names of the heroes of the Battle of Stalingrad, the historic places, streets, squares associated with this event. The young generation carries the historic memory conveyed by the elder generation. The authors believe that it is necessary to develop the historical memory in University students using historic materials, mass media, Internet-resources, family archives, museum expositions.

In connection with the transition of the Russian higher school to the Federal state educational standards FSES HE 3 ++, the process of designing new educational programs for training specialists is currently underway. Designers of educational programs require the knowledge of psychological characteristics of modern students, which actualize new pedagogical approaches and practices in the educational process. The article discusses psychological features characterizing the behavior of the new generation of students in the educational and cognitive spheres and special aspects of pedagogical work with them. This generation is referred to as the “digital generation” (generation Z). The article presents the results of the survey on the “digital behavior” of modern students. The students of Volgograd State Technical University from first year to fourth year (N=495) responded to the survey. The data obtained showed that modern students are active users of digital technologies both in the everyday sphere and in educational and professional fields, but they are not always superior to the older generation (generation X, Y). The widespread and active use of various gadgets and devices leads to a change in the mechanisms of cognitive processes and to the formation of new behavioral trends. It actualizes the need for innovative teaching methods adequate to the new reality.

The article discusses the role of social disciplines and humanities in new educational programmes of engineering training, updated in connection with the introduction of HE FSES 3++. The notion of “general cultural competencies” is no longer used in the new educational standards although the “universal competencies” of HE FSES 3++ still correlate with the indicators of general human culture. The article considers the possibilities of the development of universal competencies in approximate basic educational programmes taking the project in the educational direction of 03.09.01 “Computer science and computing” as an example. The importance of social disciplines and humanities to form universal competences is noted. These disciplines provide the continuity of the educational process of the younger generation. The article gives a brief summary of the content of the proposed social disciplines and humanities, describes the conditions for its variation, possible forms of learning activities that ensure the development of universal competencies of future engineers.

Outer membrane vesicles (OMVs) produced by Gram-negative bacteria constitute important factors in defining interactions with the extracellular milieu. Lysobacter sp. XL1 produces OMVs capable of lysing microbial cells due to the presence in their cargo of bacteriolytic protease L5 (AlpB). Although protein L5 has been functionally and biochemically characterized (including aspects of its packing into OMVs), its role in vesicle biogenesis through genetic deletion of alpB had not been studied previously. Here, we have successfully deleted alpB by allelic replacement and show that the alpB deletion mutant produces a significantly lower amount of OMVs that lack bacteriolytic activity and display altered ultrastructural characteristics in relation to the OMVs produced by the wild-type strain. These results confirm that, as previously proposed, protein L5 participates in OMV production through a mechanism that is not yet fully understood.

Objective. To analyze treatment results of 172 patients with acute myeloid leukemia (AML) aged 18-60 years in National Medical Research Center for Hematology of MHRF. Materials and methods. Inductive and consolidation program for 139 (80%) patients was based on a standardized protocol: 4 courses “7+3” with different anthracycline use (2 courses of daunorubicin, idarubicin, mitoxantrone) and continuous use of cytarabine on the second inductive course. In 20% of patients cytarabine courses at the dose of 1 g/m2 2 times a day for 1-3 days combined with idarubicin and mitoxantrone were used as two consolidation courses. Allogenic bone marrow transplantation was performed in the first complete remission (CR) period in 40% of patients. Results. The frequency of CR achievement in all patients was 78.6%, refractory forms were observed in 13.9% of patients, early mortality - in 7.5% of patients. Seven-year overall survival (OS) rate was 40.7%, relapse free survival (RFS) - 43.2%. When estimating effectiveness depending on cytogenetic risk group it was demonstrated that 5-year OS and RFS in patients with translocation (8; 21) cannot be considered as satisfying, it accounted for 50 and 34%, respectively. At the same time in patients with 16th chromosome inversion (inv16) these characteristics accounted for 68.6 and 63.5%. Acquired results forced reconsidering of the consolidation program in AML patients of this subgroup. The median time to allogenic blood stem cells transplantation (allo-BSCT) in patients with first CR was 6.5 months that was taken as a reference point in landmark analysis of patients in whom allo-BSCT was not performed. Landmark analysis showed that in AML patients of favorable prognosis group allo-BSCT does not significantly reduce the probability of relapse (0 and 36%) and does not influence RFS (33 and 64%). In patients of border-line and poor prognosis allo-BSCT significantly reduces relapse probability (26 and 66%; 20 and 100%) and significantly increases a 7-year RFS (68.7 and 30%; 45.6 and 0%). Allo-BSCT also results in significant RFS increase and reduces the probability of relapse (25 and 78%) in patients in whom CR was achieved only after the second induction course. At the same time allo-BSCT does not influence patients who achieved CR after the first treatment course: 55 and 50%. Conclusion. Multivariate analysis showed that cytogenetic risk group (HR=2.3), time of CR achievement (HR=2.9), and allo-BSCT transplantation (HR=0.16) are independent factors for disease relapse prognosis after achieving CR.

By comparison of peony and lotus embryos in in vitro culture we established differences in their morphogenetic potential. We traced in peony embryo culture: embryogenesis, embryoidogenesis, organogenesis and histogenesis, whereas the lotus embryo enhibited only one pathway of development - embryogenesis. At the critical stage the embryo becomes independent of the maternal organism, i.e, self-sufficient. Self-sufficiency of the lotus embryo on the 4O-11th day after pollination correlates with development and greening of the first -lead in the plumule, with a sharp increase in embryo dry weight and content of carbohydrates, decrease in the size of the endosperm, degeneration of the inner integument, appearance of starch in the embryo and ovary walls an Increase of its content in the outer integument.

Purpose: To study the function of external respiration and its integration with the cardiovascular system in women with different lateral profile asymmetries in perimenopausal period.Materials and methods: We examined a total of 173 women: 56 in late reproductive (I group), 62 - in premenopausal (II group), and 56 - in postmenopausal (III group) periods. We used Annet’s test, echocardiography, spirography.Results: We detected the decrease of the efficiency of external breath system in women with ambidekstral phenotype with a predominance of left signs with increasing age, indicating a lower resistance and adaptability of this constitutional subgroups.Summary: The investigations revealed that the processes of adaptability and resistance in the dynamics of age periods of ontogeny, especially during the «extinction» of the reproductive function is largely modulated by stereoisomerization of female body.

The authors present the two-year follow-up of a female patient with severe pulmonary hypertension and a rare pathology – pulmonary veno-occlusive disease. Due to the treatment with low-dose prednisolone, in combination with warfarin, coraxan, and oxygen, the clinical status of the patient remains stable.
