The effectiveness of organizations and the satisfaction of customers are both significantly improved by providing outstanding quality. To better meet the needs of their consumers, an increasing number of firms are implementing quality improvement programs such as total quality management (TQM). The major objective of this research paper is to examine the effects of TQM components on the efficiency and effectiveness of UAE higher education institutions (HEIs). The association between TQM components and organization performance was investigated using a quantitative research technique based on a survey study design. The partial least square structural equation model (PLS-SEM) was used to quantify the reflectiveness of 99 data. The study found that TQM has a positive impact on employee satisfaction and service quality in HEIs. It was revealed that TQM has a significant impact on organizational performance, with service quality serving as a mediator. Furthermore, the results revealed that service quality and students’ satisfaction are fully mediating the relationship between TQM and organizational performance. The current study concludes that HEIs are implementing TQM to enhance market performance and comprehend the evolving business trends. The study has added to the body of information about the relationship between TQM elements and organization performance.

No cenário atual, a equidade de gênero nas organizações tem sido cada vez mais discutida e traduzida em ações corporativas. Este trabalho teve como objetivos conhecer e apresentar os desafios da mulher líder de projetos de Engenharia, captando o seu entendimento sobre os impactos da liderança feminina na formação de novas líderes, abordar o aspecto da educação e sua relação na escolha pelo curso de Engenharia e compreender as ações que as empresas devem buscar para assegurar equidade de gênero e representatividade. Esta pesquisa se iniciou com o levantamento bibliográfico acerca do tema e uma pesquisa descritiva em formato de entrevistas foi realizada com 11 mulheres que estão ou já estiveram em posições de liderança de projetos de Engenharia. Os resultados obtidos apontaram que os maiores desafios das mulheres que alcançaram estes cargos estão fortemente relacionados à questão do preconceito e dos estereótipos de gênero, fatores esses que também interferem em sua escolha pelo curso de Engenharia. Isto demostra que ainda existe um longo caminho a ser trilhado para que seja possível conquistar esta igualdade. Um olhar para o futuro em busca da criação de uma cultura igualitária se faz necessário e está elencada entre as principais ações descritas pelas entrevistadas. Além disso, o equilíbrio dos benefícios e das responsabilidades entre homens e mulheres durante a maternidade e, principalmente, a geração de representatividade poderão assegurar um ambiente mais balanceado e o surgimento de novas líderes.

A educação empreendedora está se tornando um tópico de crescente interesse dentro nas Instituições de Ensino Superior (IES) para transformar e despertar atitudes empreendedoras nos estudantes. Por meio da literatura percebe-se uma relação entre as competências empreendedoras e os processos de aprendizagem, além de levar em consideração o lócus de controle como fator importante para o empreendedorismo. No entanto, há uma deficiência de estudos sobre a aquisição de habilidades e competências empreendedoras que podem ser desenvolvidas por meio da elaboração de jogos de tabuleiro. Nesse contexto, este estudo tem como objetivo analisar a percepção do docente e dos estudantes de um curso superior de gestão de negócios e inovação da Fatec SEBRAE sobre o desenvolvimento de jogos de tabuleiros para a mobilização de competências empreendedoras por meio da Aprendizagem Baseada em Projetos (ABP). A metodologia utilizada foi uma abordagem qualitativa por meio de um roteiro de entrevista semiestruturado. Para a análise e sistematização dos dados, utilizou-se o Software IRAMUTEQ. Os resultados obtidos apontam que a metodologia utilizada pelo docente para a criação de jogos foi capaz de desenvolver características empreendedoras, além de habilidades fundamentais para cultivar uma atitude empreendedora, como previsto no escopo da disciplina.

A crescente concorrência no setor óptico varejista exige que as organizações assumam uma posição de foco total no cliente. Isso exige que sejam identificadas suas necessidades e suas expectativas sejam superadas. Diante disso, esse artigo teve como objetivo identificar quais atributos exerciam maior influência na satisfação dos consumidores de uma loja do ramo óptico localizada na cidade de Natal/RN e, em adição, determinar seu desempenho em relação aos seus concorrentes. Para isso, foi utilizado uma metodologia descritiva, aplicada e com caráter quantitativo-qualitativo, em que foram aplicadas as ferramentas Matriz Importância-Desempenho e Modelo Kano. Como resultado, foi observado que a empresa foco do estudo obtém uma média de satisfação geral maior do que o mercado. Além disso, a Matriz Importância-Desempenho identificou os atributos variedade dos produtos e localização da loja como amplificadores. Já o Modelo Kano revelou que a empresa deve manter o desempenho atual em todos os seis atributos estudados com o propósito de não reduzir a satisfação dos clientes. Apesar dos diferentes resultados, o comparativo de ambas as técnicas permitiu ampliar a análise da situação empresarial e possibilitar que os gestores desenvolvam estratégias eficazes para aumentar sua parcela de mercado.

Este estudo avaliou as crenças sobre o consumo de produtos ilegais no Brasil. O comportamento desonesto do consumidor tem sido estudado em diversos países e este estudo atesta sua contribuição, identificando e atuando nessa lacuna de pesquisa na América Latina. Adotou-se o método qualitativo e uma abordagem exploratória abdutiva. A revisão e adaptação da CES foi efetuada e apoiou o roteiro de entrevistas semiestruturadas aplicadas a quinze participantes, potenciais consumidores selecionados no Shopping 25 de Março e na Galeria Pagé, ambos na região central da cidade de São Paulo. Os resultados sugerem maior tolerância aos atos desonestos da dimensão sem danos em relação às demais dimensões, tendo como argumentos principais: disponibilidade, preço do produto ilegal e o baixo poder aquisitivo dos consumidores. O consumidor responsabiliza a ausência do governo pela disponibilidade e magnitude do mercado ilegal no Brasil, rejeitam produtos roubados e aceitam produtos piratas na mesma proporção. Porém, argumentam terem dificuldade em diferenciar o que exatamente é ilegal, e não se reconhecem como responsáveis por agir refutando produtos duvidosos. O arrependimento não estaria relacionado à culpa ou ilegalidade, mas por se sentir enganado pela baixa qualidade dos produtos ilegais.

Este artigo acadêmico aborda a importância da eficiência e precisão nos pedidos em um contexto de comércio eletrônico de autopeças, destacando a relevância da logística de entrega, qualidade de serviço e os desafios enfrentados por uma empresa específica. O objetivo geral é realizar ações de intervenção em um grupo de contas de uma empresa na plataforma do Marktplace do Mercado Livre visando melhorar a qualidade de entrega de autopeças. A metodologia deste estudo combinou pesquisa participante, análise documental e aplicação de ferramentas de gestão para identificar e solucionar as causas dos atrasos e envios incorretos de peças, visando melhorar os processos operacionais e fortalecer a posição da empresa no mercado. A situação-problema encontrada envolve a ocorrência de atrasos e erros no envio de peças, impactando a eficiência operacional da empresa. A análise do problema é realizada utilizando ferramentas como o Diagrama de Ishikawa e o 5W2H, identificando causas raízes e propondo ações de melhoria estratégica. As propostas de intervenção visam otimizar processos, reduzir atrasos e erros, e fortalecer a posição da empresa no mercado, e abordar questões como a atualização de anúncios, estratégias de anúncios e gestão de estoque nas vendas pelo comércio eletrônico na plataforma do Mercado Livre. A resolução eficaz dos desafios enfrentados requer uma abordagem abrangente e integrada, considerando a interconexão dos problemas e impactos no funcionamento global da empresa.

Paulo Freire defendia a educação para todos, a partir dos saberes individuais de cada educando, ao compreender que a pesquisa se faz a partir do conhecimento prévio e desse modo buscar novos saberes. Para a área das ciências naturais não é diferente, onde o campo das disciplinas de química está ancorado. O objetivo deste estudo foi praticar conceitos por meio de uma abordagem de aprendizagem significativa, junto aos alunos de um curso técnico, onde conceitos como qualidade do solo, impactos da contaminação antrópica na vegetação e biorremediadores foram abordados a partir de uma simulação, em laboratório, de uma contaminação de solo por chumbo, com a utilização de mudas da espécie Syngonium podophyllum. Ao trabalhar com os estudantes foi possível demonstrar o envolvimento e compreensão dos alunos a cerca destes conceitos propostos, de forma simples e objetiva, pela vivência do estudante com uma situação prática dentro de sua realidade.

Este artigo aborda a aplicação e interpretação da Taxonomia de Bloom nas avaliações de aprendizagem em larga escala, utilizando questões selecionadas do ENADE 2011 - Engenharia VI (Engenharia de Produção). Para tanto, se caracteriza de natureza aplicada, descritiva, com abordagem qualitativa a partir de pesquisa bibliográfica e documental. Apesar das dificuldades relatadas por autores e professores na elaboração de avaliações alinhadas à Taxonomia de Bloom, a diversidade de questões permitiu a seleção de questões que demonstram seus objetivos. Embora as provas do ENADE não tenham sido elaboradas obrigatoriamente com base nessa taxonomia, o artigo busca evidenciar a aderência das questões do ENADE à proposta de Bloom. Constatou-se que a proposta de Bloom, originária da década de 1950, se mostra eficaz na construção de instrumentos de avaliação da aprendizagem em larga escala como o ENADE.

This paper offers a detailed overview of Prof. Leblebici’s scholarly footprint, providing valuable insights into theoretical thinking and research methodologies in studying professions and professional organizations.

Over the years, sporadic efforts have been made to create grammars of social action, interaction, and organization. One of the attractions of grammatical representation is its generative capacities. First, we summarize the advantages of generative theories. We then outline a strategy for creating a grammar of organization that avoids the pitfalls of previous attempts. We then create two grammars of organization, one for transfer, and the other for exchange transactions. We discuss the work that institutions do in regulating transactions by relating them to the features of transactions that the grammars reveal. A grammar of organization is a medium for integrating micro and macro organization theory and for developing better and more testable theories of institutions and behavior. We demonstrate the advantages of thinking grammatically about organization theories by applying grammatical thinking to three well-known studies of organization.

This study compares the neo-institutional studies published by researchers in North American institutions in leading management and organization journals based in North America with those published by researchers in European institutions in leading management and organization journals based in Europe. The comparison is based on methodological preferences employed in studies that reveal differences in researchers' approaches to organizational analysis in the two geographic regions and tendencies to reference prominent European thinkers, referred to as "European-ness." The findings confirm significant differences in methodological approaches and referencing of prominent thinkers in the neo-institutional studies conducted by academics in both geographic regions. The findings indicate that dominant research traditions in those geographies shape theories adopted in different geographies.

The functioning of industry in the context of the creation and development of a single digital space of the Russian economy requires the development of an appropriate mechanism, in which information and service support for the digitalization of business processes of industrial enterprises should play a key role. The purpose of this study is to build a model of the mechanism for the functioning of an industrial enterprise in a single digital space (hereinafter referred to as the SDS) as well as to characterize the information and service support for the control and governing functions of this mechanism. The categorical apparatus of the digital economy and digital technologies, methods of classification, comparative analysis, functional and systemic approaches were used as the methodological basis of the study. The results of the work were the construction of a conceptual model of the mechanism of functioning of an industrial enterprise in a single digital space, based on the principle of optimality and capable of adapting to the needs of a particular industrial enterprise, as well as the identification of the basic functions of the management activity of an industrial enterprise in the single digital space, and the characteristics of the information and service support mechanism, which is digital services (technologies) that ensure management activities and interaction of actors of the business ecosystem in the single digital space. The conclusions drawn from the results of the study can be applied in practice by the management of companies when developing their own mechanism and strategy for digitalizing business processes in order to increase the efficiency of functioning in the single digital space industry.

The development of the Northern Sea Route (NSR) infrastructure is one of the priority areas of managerial thought in the development of the Arctic zone of the Russian Federation. Commercial use of high-latitude caravan routes in the waters of the NSR should significantly change the situation with the organization of logistical maritime flows around the Eurasian continent. Ensuring uninterrupted traffic along with fulfilment of the conditions of urgency of delivery and cargo safety form the category of stability of the NSR functioning. Its northern part runs exclusively in domestic seas, and ensuring regular vessel traffic is Russia’s priority task in the competition for transporting cargo from east to west (and back) by sea. The movement of ships along the NSR falls directly under the authority of the management of Rosatom State Corporation, while the management of the infrastructure that ensures the continuous movement of transport along the NSR is carried out collegially. At the same time, such an important aspect as the management of the infrastructure complex supporting the movement of container ships with transit cargo has been assigned to three components of a single management entity: the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of the Russian Federation for the Development of the Russian Far East and the Arctic, and Rosatom Corporation, without clearly defining the boundaries of responsibility for interdepartmental management decisions. To date, this approach has already caused a series of organizational and technical difficulties. The aim of the study is to identify the rational organization of the infrastructure of the management subject, allowing to ensure the sustainability of the movement of passenger and cargo ships throughout the water area of the NSR; it is based on such scientific methods as induction, systematization, grouping Key results of the work may be in demand both in the course of scientific research in the field of infrastructure development in the regions of the Arctic zone of the Russian Federation, and in the framework of improving the existing management system of aviation infrastructure of these territories.

The economic growth and development of the country largely depends on success in the main industries, where mechanical engineering plays a key role. The economies of different countries rely on industrial enterprises that satisfy people’s needs through the production of goods and services. To ensure competitiveness in a dynamically changing market, continuous improvement and development of enterprises is required. In the current conditions, mechanical engineering enterprises increasingly need to adapt to each individual customer, which in turn forces them to rebuild enterprises to the parameters typical for single or small-scale production. The production process is the joint work of tools, equipment and personnel through which products are produced. The complexity of the process of releasing new products is due to the involvement of a large number of departments involved in this process. Order execution is based primarily on the management of production systems. One of the most important processes in enterprise management is the order management process.The purpose of this study is to determine the methods of optimizing the order management process and reducing the influence of the internal cooperation factor on the increase of the period of its implementation at machine-building enterprises. As a methodological basis such general scientific methods as analysis, synthesis, comparison and contrast were used. As the information base, the article analyzes the works of modern authors who consider the issues of order management and such an element of the organizational structure as internal cooperation between departments, their influence on the internal processes of the enterprise and the timing of order execution. The features of the planning process for a single type of production are considered. In the course of the work, the main reasons for the shift in previously determined order completion dates, the most important indicators for order fulfillment, the peculiarities of the planning process at the unit type of production were considered, as well as the most frequently encountered problems during project implementation were identified. In connection with the trend towards changes and development of enterprises, in terms of changes in order management processes for customized products, an increase in the number of created enterprises and an increase in the share of customized products, a conclusion was made about the relevance of studying the order management process in a single type of production at machine-building enterprises. Conclusions are drawn about the need for further study of the issues under consideration. The materials can be used in companies in the real sector of the economy, in administrative structures and in the educational process.

Almost all global trends create a synergistic effect, which increases the importance of forming and developing human capital to ensure the survival of companies in the market and their confidence in the future, regardless of their size and type of activity. However, despite the unflagging and continued interest of the scientific community in the issues related to human capital, there are still many “white spots” in this area. The aim of this work is to explore the approaches to forming and developing human capital applied by companies doing business in Russia in the current realities and modern conditions, to identify industry specifics and to outline recommendations. To achieve this goal, the authors conducted a questionnaire survey of managers of enterprises from different segments of the economy. As a result of the analysis of the obtained data, the conclusions were made that not all organisations have a generally accepted definition of HR and not everywhere there are procedures for its assessment. The problems related to personnel development, creation of competitive labour conditions for employees, search for potential employees and internal filling of vacancies were also revealed. The methodology of this work is based on a systemic approach and surveying, as well as general scientific methods such as synthesis, analysis, comparison, and generalization. Research results: Despite the fact that, in the opinion of the authors of the study, it did not consider all the problems of human capital formation and its impact on the sustainability of organisations, the obtained results allowed for the identification of the peculiarities of approaches to forming and developing human capital, considering industry specifics, and can be useful to develop practical recommendations for managers of companies aimed at improving this activity. Originality: This study presents, for the first time, a comprehensive overview of the approaches to forming and developing human capital in companies across various industries in the Russian labor market.

Constant variability of the external environment is one of the key features affecting the business activity of domestic organizations and generates the need for constant updating of managers’ professional skills. The issues of assessment efficiency of commercial companies are always relevant not only for owners, but also for managers, employees and other stakeholders. In the conditions of economic instability, the interest to the indicators of organizations’ efficiency increases and, accordingly, their clarification and adjustment is required. and adjustment. The purpose of the study is to summarize the profitability indicators depending on the goal-setting of the participants of commercial organizations and to establish the possibility of using these indicators to assess the effectiveness of the company’s activities. Many years of experience of the authors of this article in the field of business valuation allowed to systematize the techniques of calculation of the main profitability indicators, to present an updated system of their grouping, as well as to classify the factors affecting them. Also, theoretical approaches to the calculation of invested capital were generalized in the course of the work. The research applied the methods of analysis, comparison, synthesis, classification, collection and generalization, logic, graphical and tabular display of information. Theoretical significance of the obtained results consists in the development of the methodology of value-oriented management in order to actualize and adapt the algorithms for calculating profitability indicators to domestic conditions, taking into account the interests of the participants of the organization. The practical significance of the work consists in the development of methods for assessing the performance indicators of the company, which can be used in the corporate governance of commercial structures, as well as in making management decisions by stakeholders.

The relevance of the topic of research is determined by the need to address the problems of environmental and socioeconomic nature arising against the background of industrialized society, which causes interest in the development of organic agriculture and the formation of a dynamically growing market for organic products. The purpose of the study is to analyze the trends in the development of the global organic market and a comparative analysis of the practices of state regulation of this segment in the United States, the EU and Russia. In the course of the work such scientific methods as synthesis and deduction were used; the information and analytical base was the data of the journal “The World of Organic Agriculture” and publicly available information from the official websites of the Ministries of Agriculture of the United States and the Russian Federation, the European Commission, the Union of Organic Agriculture. The article presents the results of consideration of the dynamics of sales volumes and changes in the average per capita consumption of organic products in the world market, as well as the description of mechanisms of state regulation of organic agriculture and the organic market in the United States, the EU and Russia, highlighting their distinctive characteristics. The study of such issues allows to rationally apply foreign experience, excluding a high degree of risk when making strategic decisions in the formation of directions of development of the agrarian sector of the economy within the framework of national interests. The results of the study can be useful both in the development of programs for the development of organic agriculture at the level of sub-sectors of the economy, and in relation to the subjects of the Russian Federation, striving for sustainable development of the regional market of this type of products.

This article shows the results of research, analysis and systematization of historical information, scientific works, and regulatory and legal documents in the subject area under consideration in order to synthesize the Concept of scientific management of sustainable development of subjects of modern domestic economy.The results of the work are based on a systematic approach and the scientific and practical experience of the authors. The results of a retro-perspective analysis of management science through the prism of scientific and technological development of Russia in the XX–XXI centuries are presented. The forecast indicators of Russia’s socio-economic development in the field of achieving technological sovereignty are shown. Theoretical and practical significance of the work done consists in the formation and presentation to the scientific and business community of promising conceptual directions of sustainable development of economic entities through the development of adaptive strategy; deployment of industry clusters; introduction and commercialization of innovative technologies; differentiated application of elements of scientific management; formation and development of social capital, taking into account the requirement of protection from cyber threats in the era of industries 4.0 and 5.0.

The purpose of the study is to develop a classification of leadership styles based on a combination of two indicators: the degree of employees’ involvement in the decision-making process and the prevailing orientation at the enterprise either towards achieving organizational results or towards ensuring employees’ satisfaction. The scientific novelty of the work is in the approach to solving the stated problem, namely, the creation of the authors’ typology of management styles (individual authoritarian, paternalistic, collective, communal), based on a combination of the degree of staff participation in making management decisions and target orientation towards business/relationships. The results obtained show that this methodology helps to reveal most efficiently the features of management at modern Russian enterprises. This methodology was used as a basis for the analyses of the aspects determining the nature of the leadership. There was revealed its relationship with various socio-economic factors. Long-term longitudinal studies conducted at Naberezhnye Chelny enterprises provided the authors of the article with empirical material, on the basis of which it was concluded that authoritarianism and paternalism were the most characteristic of the modern domestic managers’ style. The practical significance of the study is in the possibility of applying its results at enterprises in various sectors of the economy. The proposed classification of management styles can be used as a methodological toolkit in studying the effectiveness of management work at different organizations, as well as in the process of training, retraining and advanced training of personnel.

The purpose of this study was to develop principles for the formation of the company’s ecosystem based on platform socio-economic interactions. In the course of the work, the peculiarities of ecosystem development are analyzed and the problem of systematization of the principles of formation of the external environment of an economic entity is determined. Based on minimizing transaction costs and the completeness of the application of management functions, the basic principles of the formation of the firm’s ecosystem have been developed, including clientcentricity, responsiveness to changes, hierarchical structure, diversity of participants and maintaining the profile of activity The author’s approaches to the creation of such an ecosystem through platform interactions, as well as the application of advanced digital and information technologies to protect personal data, expand the number of services and activities provided, and preserve competition were formed. The research used methods such as various types of analysis, structuring, and the graphical method. The information base was made up of the bibliographic database of scientific publications eLibrary. This study of ecosystems will be of interest to firms that want to make more profit with lower costs by collecting and analyzing data received from customers.

Expanding on his study of the social construction of technology, Bijker used a technological frame to explain the factors involved in the success development of Bakelite. It is generally accepted that the successful synthesis of Bakelite was particularly helped by the fact that the inventor, Baekeland, was more deeply included in the technological frame of electrochemical engineers rather than that of celluloid chemists. However, a careful reading of Bijker's case study reveals that (i) the technological frame contributing to the synthesis of Bakelite is separate from the technological frame of electrochemical engineers and (ii) it was formed by collecting components of the technological frame (called technological frame parts in this paper) of the community to which Baekeland belonged and in which he was included as well as the technological frames of celluloid chemists and electrochemical engineers.

This paper examines the important factors influencing team effectiveness, culture, and leadership in the oil and gas project environment. The study focuses on four controlling variables: cross-culture, organizational culture, path-goal leadership, and team effectiveness. Cross-cultural dynamics greatly affect team dynamics, decision-making, conflict resolution, and project delivery. Organizational culture stresses collective learning and its impact on team members' mindsets. Path-goal leadership clarifies goals and provides support. Effective project teams collaborate, have strong leadership, and integrate individual viewpoints. The study provides valuable insights for Nigerian oil and gas industry project leaders to improve project outcomes aligned with organizational goals. Structural equation modelling (SEM) techniques are employed for data analysis, with the sample size determined based on SEM guidelines. PLS-SEM and CB-SEM approaches are compared, with CB-SEM achieving a higher coefficient of determination. The research suggests that achievement-oriented leadership behaviour and collaborative team processes are essential factors in defining key performance indicators (KPI) for project success.

Measuring indicators of tourism development is crucial for formulating effective tourism policies. The Travel and Tourism Development Index (TTDI) is intrinsically linked to the measurement of tourism development indicators. It provides the essential data and analysis needed for creating effective, sustainable, and competitive tourism policies, thereby maximizing the benefits of tourism while minimizing its adverse impacts. The TTDI has been published twice since its inception in 2021. Notably, the methodology for compiling the TTDI has changed to enhance its accuracy and relevance This paper aims to identify the degree of agreement between the new and the original calculation methodology in the TTDI values achieved by countries. In addition, we show the values achieved concerning the region in which the country is located and concerning the income group. Moreover, we quantify differences in the country’s ranking between the original and new rankings within TTDI. The findings indicate that even with the revised methodology for calculating the TTDI, the values attained by the countries exhibit a strong correlation.

Social capital may boost economic development in companies that assume continuity. Trust, norms, and networks boost sector social capital. This study examines how social and intellectual capital affect employee performance at PT. Generation of Java-Bali Generating Unit Paiton-Probolinggo. A survey approach guided by the field's present state and participant interviews collected the research data. The research combined qualitative and quantitative methodologies. The Amos 29 software package was used to analyze questionnaire results using structural equation modeling. The research found a substantial link between social and intellectual capital and employee performance. Estimating social capital's effect on employee performance using 1.168. The correlation between intellectual capital and employee performance is 0.297, indicating a similar occurrence. Third hypothesis test showed intellectual capital's effect on employee performance was positive (0.059). At a significance level of 0.5 (5%), the computed critical value (CR) of 1.688 surpasses the barrier of ± 2.00.

Generations Y and Z may show different tendencies in the job market and prefer different management approaches. Generation Z can enter the language of economic actors as anxious or carefree. The emergence of new professions, more liberal and adapting to these young people, pushes them away from industrial professions. This study aims to propose a change in recruitment methods to professionals in the industrial sector, primarily in the welding profession, or, if necessary, to human resources departments. The analyzes carried out on the questionnaires filled out by 152 volunteer participants, most of whom are university and graduate students, were analyzed with the IBM SPSS Statistics 26 FixPack 1 program and studied at a 95% confidence level. In the analysis, the frequency and percentage values of the categorical variables were determined. The relationship between university, gender and age and categorical variables was analyzed by Chi-square test. Study results; the importance of digital resources in the job and internship search process, the priority of company reputation and working environment in job selection, the effect of personal passion on educational preferences and the low interest in the welding profession, In addition, factors such as the importance of the job and its guarantee are also decisive in the choice of profession. This study is thought that the study will represent an analytical support for companies and SMEs that enable them to take the necessary measures to counter today's harsh reality.

This research investigates factors influencing corporate social disclosure (CSD) within the context of Saudi Arabia. Specifically, it examines how corporate governance attributes and company characteristics impact the extent of CSD. The study utilizes data from 435 firm-year observations spanning 87 companies listed on Saudi Exchange (Tadawul) during 2015-2019. CSD levels are gauged using an unweighted disclosure index derived from the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) framework. The results reveal a negative effect of board size on CSD, suggesting that smaller boards may encourage more comprehensive disclosures. Conversely, the effects of board independence and audit committee independence are insignificant. In line with theoretical predictions, larger, profitable, manufacturing companies, as well as those involved in international operations, tend to disclose more social information. The current research contributes to the literature, addressing conflicting findings on the effects of board characteristics and profitability, and exploring the underexplored roles of audit committee independence and internationalization.

This study examined the influence of employees’ shareholding on the Expectation Gap (EG) in auditing, focusing on Nigerian quoted firms. A cross-sectional survey research design was adopted for the study, along with the purposive sampling method. Three hundred and ten (310) responses were used for the analysis. The data were analysed using the Partial Least Square Structural Equation Model (PLS-SEM) at a 5 percent level of significance. The result showed that employees’ shareholding (β = 0.374; t = 7.362) has a significant positive effect on the external auditor’s independence factor. The study concluded that employees’ participation is a good practice to be employed by the Nigerian quoted firms in addressing the challenge of EG in those firms. Therefore, the study recommended that quoted firms should strengthen the independence of external auditors by allowing employees’ participation in the ownership structure to reduce the EG.

The urgent need for CSR disclosure is not only for the company's internal needs in accountability, transparency, risk management, and business sustainability but also includes compliance with regulations and ensuring the reputation of the company's image for the trust of stakeholders, especially the surrounding community. The current situation related to the activities of mining and agricultural companies, which are risky and sensitive to the social environment and political economy, has become a major concern for various parties in Indonesia. Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) has now become an obligation for companies that run their business activities directly or related to natural resources, which can be reported in the sustainability report. The study aims to determine the description of CSR disclosure practices in sustainability reports with the Sharia Enterprise Theory (SET) approach. The measurement indicators used are the GRI Standard and Sharia compliance, which consists of 4 categories in measuring CSR disclosure carried out by the content analysis method. This research was conducted on companies listed on the Indonesian Sharia Stock Index (ISSI). The number of samples in this study was 11 companies consisting of 6 mining companies and five agricultural companies obtained by purposive sampling technique. This study did not include the 2020-2024 period in the analysis because the global economic crisis due to the COVID-19 pandemic made companies change their priorities. The results showed that, in general, the concept of SET in CSR disclosure has been applied by companies in terms of habluminallah and habluminannas, with an average disclosure of 47 items out of 123 items per company. The company that disclosed the most was PT Timah Tbk, with a score of 65 items, and the lowest was PT Austindo Tbk, which had 30 items. Our findings have alternative implications for the government in several ways, including strengthening regulations and policies, supervision and law enforcement, incentives and support, and pressure on companies to provide space for public involvement and participation.

This paper focuses on the issue of quality management in higher education, which is rethought and solved in the special context of migration in Russia and other countries of the CIS. The article aims to determine the relationship between labour and educational migration and the quality of higher education in the innovation economy of Russia and other CIS countries. For this purpose, an econometric model of the impact of labour and educational migration on the quality of higher education in the innovation economy of Russia and other CIS countries has been compiled using regression analysis. Based on the model, it has been proved that labour and educational migration is determined by factors of quality of higher education and the labour market. The advantages of increasing the incoming flow of educational and labour migration for higher education in the innovation economy of Russia and other CIS countries have been substantiated: the increase in fees for the use of intellectual property objects and the number of patent applications. The authors' forecast has shown the prospects for an increase in the quality of higher education in the innovation economy of Russia and other CIS countries through the optimization of labour and educational migration. The main conclusion of the study is that during the Decade of Science and Technology in Russia and other CIS countries, the essence of labour and educational migration has transformed - participants with high human potential seeking to obtain higher education and take knowledge-intensive jobs have become predominant in the structure of the migration flow - and due to this, its influence on higher education has significantly increased in the innovation economy. The practical significance of the article lies in the fact that the proposed set of authors' recommendations will optimize migration flows and, thus, unleash the potential for the development of the quality of higher education in the innovation economy of Russia and other CIS countries in the Decade of Science and Technology.

External demand for achieving sustainability goals increases rapidly, nowadays. At the same time, companies face internal and external demands in terms of increasing performance which includes social and environmental questions. Continuous improvement (CI) system seems to be an inexpensive way for companies to achieve incremental improvements and improve overall company performance. Recent papers indicate that CI can be an appropriate concept for achieving companies' sustainable goals. Therefore, the purpose of the paper is to analyse the research field of continuous improvement (CI) and its connection to sustainable performance. A bibliometric analysis and literature review were conducted. The papers were selected from database Scopus using the search phrase ("continuous improvement") AND ("sustainable performance" AND "sustainability"). The aim of this paper is to conduct a literature and bibliometric review and to present an up to date analysis of the research and to provide theoretical attempt to highlight the role of continuous improvement in achieving sustainable performance. There are not many studies that explore the influence of CI on sustainability, so this research contributes to strengthening the awareness of organization about the role of CI in achieving sustainable goals. The results of the analysis indicate that continuous improvement is needed in the practice of companies to achieve sustainable goals. Therefore, this research adds to current understanding of continuous improvement, providing evidence about using CI as a good approach on the path to sustainability.

The Lean Management had its origin in the 50s in the Japanese automobile industry, and is currently used in different production processes, included those related to pharmaceutical production, for which has raised its application in the manufacture of loperamide HCl-orodispersible tablets (HCl-ODT) under the coordination of the Pharmaceutical Quality System (PQS). A theoretical proposal for process reengineering has been carried out both incorporating and applying the different Lean tools in the industrial manufacturing process of HCl-ODT, and their subsequent integration into the PQS, through each one of the processes stages, such as: weighing, screening, mixing, compression, and packaging, under the compliance of the current legislation of the pharmaceutical industry and in compatibility with what is established in the ICHs within the Quality System, in order to increase the effectiveness and efficiency of the process and its profitability. Lean Management under the coordination of the Pharmaceutical Quality System (PQS), is an excellent strategy for manufacturing loperamide HCl-orodispersible tablets since it improves its Quality System, as well as facilitates compliance with the national and international guides, standards and legislation that are suitable to it.

Much progress has been achieved in research works on SMA and the scope of modern analytical tools in SMA techniques. Although there had been many reviews on SMA techniques and their adoption by firms around the world, research on the application of analytical tools like artificial intelligence (AI), big data analytics (BDA) and cloud computing (CC) in SMA techniques had been fewer. This review aimed at assessing the relative extent of research done on these two aspects and the findings obtained from them. Google Scholar was used to search for papers and the PRISMA flow process was used to screen and select the papers. A total of 41 papers were obtained from these methods for this review. These papers were discussed under three main sections: Papers on the use of advanced analytical tools in SMA by firms, SMA (strategic management accounting) techniques used by Australian manufacturing firms and Use of advanced analytical tools for performance improvement by Australian manufacturing firms.However, since the adoption rate of SMA itself is low, using advanced analytical tools in SMA has been still low. Low levels of (negative) adoption of both SMA techniques and tools are due to a lack of awareness, lack of the required skills, lack of resources and resistance to change. The first two of these barriers could be addressed by training employees about SMA, and its techniques and tools. Incremental implementation of SMA and the tools with increasing availability of resources over time may solve the resource problem. Effective change management strategies and positive organisational culture towards changing to SMA and tools can solve the resistance problem. But the current low levels of adoption do not indicate the possibility of changing the organisational culture.

The lunar calendar is the first one established in history. The lunar calendar gives nature's weekly and monthly changes more precisely than the solar one. In restoring such a calendar, we distinguished between proven facts and hypotheses and legends, which were preserved with the help of records based on the testimony of individuals who lived in northwestern Slovenia during the first part of the 20th century. Their eternal lunar calendar is said to be over 300 years old. Its users believed in the initial force, which, according to them, governs everything that exists in this world. Considering the natural cycles increases the quality of our life and ensures its longest possible length.

This paper focuses on exploration of deep tech potential at three universities in South East Wurope: University of Sarajevo (UNSA) from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Polytechnic University of Tirana (UPT) from Albania and University of Montenegro (UoM) from Montenegro. One-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) and Tukey procedure for multiple comparisons were performed to assess and compare perceptions of students of these three universities regarding different deep tech issues. Research hypotheses were that there were differences in the interest of students of these three universities to (i) take one or more university courses to gain knowledge on certain deep tech technologies, (ii) attend other means of learning about deep tech (workshops, trainings, online courses, etc.) outside of the University, (iii) start own company in a deep tech field, and (iv) be actively engaged in deep tech research and development projects. Results of the research showed that hypotheses were not supported except regarding start of the own company in a deep tech field where there was difference in the interest of UNSA and UPT students and UoM and UPT students. There were differences in offering courses in deep tech areas, and that students at all three universities are highly motivated to acquire deep tech competences especially in the areas of robotics, artificial intelligence and machine learning including big data, and sustainable energy and clean technologies. Higher education, as one of three knowledge triangle components, may serve as very important point in creating dynamic knowledge triangle deep tech ecosystem and be the driving force as the source of educated relevant experts needed for deep tech development.

This investigation explores e-commerce product sales patterns, integrating Quality Management and Business Optimization perspectives. We analyze product listings, ratings, and sales metrics using a unique dataset from data.world.com, sourced from Wish.com. Our predictive model unveils correlations among categorical and continuous predictors, spotlighting their role in predicting unit sales. Employing robust linear regression, we assess predictor significance via t-tests, hypothesis evaluations, and ANOVA. Model selection, guided by AIC, identifies the optimal fit. Outliers, influential points, and assumptions are evaluated. Employing data visualization, we present results comprehensively. This study empowers stakeholders with insights into e-commerce dynamics, Quality Management, and Business Optimization for informed decision-making.

With the awareness of women's power in working life, women are now seen as the key to social sustainable development. The evaluations to be made with the problem how the quality of work life of working women (in the light of criteria such as participation in employment (labor force), starting and maintaining entrepreneurship, entrepreneurship incentives, success, happiness, education, family support, salary, job satisfaction, position, etc.) has been interpreted in the last ten years, the expectations for the next ten years and the rates that will change by means of the proposed recommendations are the main subjects of this study. Interpreting the antecedents, results and future expectations of women's employment and women's work life quality in the countries with a comparison between Serbia and Turkey among the developing countries will show the importance given by the relevant nations to women employees on the axis of social sustainability.

Media messages are any form of communication delivered to the audience, broadcasted in written, oral or visual form. They may include TV shows, web pages, advertisements, news stories, blogs or social media posts, inter alia. At present, facts are no longer the paradigm of journalism. They are often replaced by short messages constructed on the basis of biased or emotional content. In addition, commercial value of news and digitization of resources have also changed the formation of texts and images. They are built using entries posted on Facebook or Twitter (often by fake accounts), instead of face-to-face interviews, participant observation, or citing primary sources and opinions. On the other hand, there are numerous discussions on the quality of data and information, also in the context of journalism. Although there is no agreement whatsoever as to the factors contributing to high-quality communication, the author attempts to demonstrate a new model for quality assessment of written media messages. It comprises four main groups of quality factors, namely: 1) information, 2) linguistic, 3) publishing, and 4) useability. Each group consists of specific criteria, which are analyzed with respect to different media content. Its potential of application for quality assessment of press and social media will be discussed.

This paper aimed to review the papers published since 2021 to evaluate the current trends in natural language processing. A search of Google Scholar with the time frame of 2021-2023 using a PRISMA methodology yielded 27 papers for review. The review revealed an evolutionary trend from simple NLP models to multitasking, word embedding, neural networks, sequence-to-sequence models, and attention mechanisms to the current trends of pre-trained NLP uses in different contexts. Many techniques and algorithms were used in this process. One of the latest developments was identifying false news about Covid-19 pandemic from social media posts, to reduce risks to the population. Healthcare seems to be a major beneficiary of these developments. Natural Language Processing and its applications to tourism communication present great potential. The consistent development of NLP technology is allowing for the use of automated translation services, personalized tourism messaging, and more natural interplays between humans and AI systems (e.g., through ChatBots). The innovative and powerful capabilities of NLP can potentially help to drive tourism-related services ahead of the curve. As the technology continues to innovate and evolve, the advantage it offers to the tourism industry cannot be understated. A few limitations of this review have been mentioned at the end. This research has implications for tourism communications.

The aim of the paper is to examine the statistical significance of the impact of GLOBALG.A.P. certification in crop production, as well as the realized value of fruit and vegetable production on the Serbian export value in the fruit and vegetable sector in the period 2010-2021. For the purposes of inference, a multiple linear regression model is applied. It is found that the growth in the number of GLOBALG.A.P. certified producers does not affect export value in the fruit and vegetable sector (p=0.066), nor does the increase in certified areas (p=0.433). At the same time, the value of fruit and vegetable production has an impact on export value in this sector (p=0.001). The results are explained by the still low representation of GLOBALG.A.P. certification in Serbian agriculture, as a result of numerous institutional constraints, as well as financial and administrative obstacles for greater progress in this process.

The construction industry is characterized by the low level of digitalization in spite of the fact, that it has considerable potential. Digitalization in construction can bring significant results, connected with the improvement of the quality of process management in construction, as well as the qualities of final construction products. The purpose of this research is the determination of expectations of the Russian construction industry representatives, concerning the effects, which can be received thanks to the implementation of digital technologies in the organizations, working in the investment-and-construction sphere. The research is carried out with a method of the sociological poll. As a result of the carried-out factor analysis the authors proved, that there is the interrelation between the respondents' expectations and the type of activity of their organizations. This factor was the most significant one. The age of the organization and its scale had an insignificant impact on the expectations.

Project quality management is one out of ten areas of project management defined by the Project Management Institute (PMI). According to definition, it includes the processes for incorporating the organization's quality policy as regards planning, managing, and controlling project and product quality requirements in order to meet stakeholders' objectives. The current paper focuses on R&D (research and development) projects, whose specificity and high-uncertainty of the results requires a specific approach to quality management. In view of the lack of research efforts in this area, the objective was to propose a new, multicriteria based model for R&D project quality management. The construction of this model was based on the review of the extant knowledge and interviews with certified R&D project managers. The model includes factors influencing both the quality of project activities and the quality of R&D results. As a next step, the model was tested based on multi-criteria evaluation of the relative importance of these factors. It has potential, inter alia, to support decision-makers in selection of the optimal project quality management strategy. Finally, relevant recommendations have been provided for researchers and practitioners.

The article presents the use of the ahp in the evaluation of work in a selected municipal enterprise operating in one of the agglomerations in Poland. Based on the case study, the use of AHP was presented in terms of overall evaluation of jobs of municipal company, which enabled to determine the hierarchy of organizational positions due to the difficulty and arduousness of work. The research proceedings were suplemented by document analysis, structured interviews, team work methods, and classification technique. The article shows that such an approach ensured, on the one hand, the inclusion of qualitative aspects of tasks performed at individual positions in the assessment of work difficulties, and ensures team coordination of assessments and opinions, promoted in quality management, on the basis of which decisions regarding remuneration are made.

Today, the construction industry in many countries is experiencing a complex impact of global trends (large and multicultural workforce, digitalisation, economic and geopolitical instability, etc). The aim of the study is to determine the influence of socio-psychological specifics of interaction between construction project team members, their cultural and subcultural differences on work quality today and in the future. A thorough analysis of literary sources was carried out. We used diagnostic tools and models of team role composition (by M. Belbin), organisational culture (by C. Quinn and R. Cameron), intergroup adaptation (A. Bulgakov) through the study of its emotional component. The strengths of project teams in construction and the reserves for improving the quality of their work are established, their subcultural and role characteristics are presented. The obtained results have practical significance for managing multicultural teams of construction projects and improving the quality of their work in the future (forecasts by K. Schwab, Global Trends-2040).

The article deals with the issues of the impact of the quality of consumers' heat supply on the sustainable development of the urban areas infrastructure focused on the implementation of the United Nations Program on Human Settlements (UN-Habitat). A group of five countries of Central Asia has been studied, the quality of heat supply to consumers of which has long been ensured through centralized systems. An analysis of the heat supply quality in these countries showed that the main advantage of district heating, cogeneration, is losing its usefulness for consumers due to the significant accumulated wear and tear of heat supply systems. Quantitative dynamic characteristics of the heat supply facilities functioning are considered. A set of indicators for evaluating investment projects aimed at improving the heat supply quality is presented, that made it possible to propose rating indicators of heat supply interconnected with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

This research investigates the complex relationship between households' electricity consumption and a range of environmental factors, such as air pollution and meteorological parameters. Data regarding air pollutants PM 10 [μg/m^3 ], and NO2 [μg/m^3 ], as well as meteorological parameters temperature [°C] elative humidity [%], and atmospheric pressure [hPa] were collected from the Federal Hydrometeorological Institute of Bosnia and Herzegovina, while data related to electricity consumption were obtained from the Public Enterprise Elektroprivreda BiH d.d. - Sarajevo. Measurements and data collection were done for a period of time from January 2020 until March 2022 allowing for seasonal variations to be taken into account. The research findings reveal strong negative correlation of households' electricity consumption with temperature, moderate positive correlation with PM10 and NO2 as well as weak positive correlation with relative humidity and very weak positive correlation with pressure. Linear regression model developed in this research showed that temperature, humidity and concentration of air pollutant PM10 were significant variables and had impact on households' electricity consumption. The results of this research provide valuable insights into the complex dynamics between households' electricity consumption and environmental factors, and can help policymakers, electricity providers as well as households to develop better ways to save energy and develop better electricity consumption strategies.

The purpose of this paper is to examine the bidirectional relationship between two sets of variables, higher education and training (eight indicators) and innovation (seven indicators), using the canonical correlation analysis (CCA). The study utilises data published by the World Economic Forum Reports for seven years (2012-2018) for a sample of 12 countries in the MENA area. CCA is used to analyse the relationship between the two sets of variables. It helps in the evaluation of the interchangeable relationships between the two sets of multiple variates. More in-depth analysis of the nature of such a relationship between the two sets of variables is provided through redundancy analysis to identify the percentage of the variance in each set that is interpreted by the other set, and the commonality analysis to determine the variance of canonical function that is due to unique or standard variables. Canonical analysis shows the causality between the two endogenous sets of variables. Also, the findings suggest that technology alone is not an antidote, while other factors might have a significant impact on innovation. Commonality analysis shows that the role of quality of management school in explaining the variation in canonical function of innovation in common with "quality of education system", "quality of math and science", "internet access", "training availability" and "staff training produce".

The aim of the article is to diagnose citizens' expectations regarding innovations implemented in the public services sector. The authors present the results of survey research conducted among students of Krakow universities. Respondents answered questions about the need for innovation in the public sector and the purposes they should serve. Based on the obtained results, the conclusion was drawn that an increasing number of citizens expect innovative activity in the public services sector. Therefore, the action of demand factors can be observed, although the mechanisms of their influence on the course of innovative processes in this sector are different from those in companies. The empirical research presented in the article was preceded by a theoretical introduction in which the authors describe the essence of innovation in the public sector, the conditions for their implementation, and the importance of citizens' participation in this process.

The changing nature of conflicts is creating new challenges in civilian protection. Features of hybrid warfare, such as multidimensionality, synergistic effects, blurring of boundaries, or asymmetricity, force practitioners and scholars to consider new threats. The article examines how the characteristics of hybrid warfare affect the emergence of cascade effects. We conducted research on examples of the war in Ukraine and the Israeli-Palestinian war. The concept of a method for predicting the cascade effect under conditions of hybrid war is proposed. The concept involves using the Six Ways to Die method to take areas affecting the health and life of the civilian population and define a network of object dependencies on which proper functioning of the State in these areas depends. Using complementary tools such as process analysis, risk assessment, Petri nets, and Bayesian network in the form of the Critical Infrastructure Security Situational Management methodology, the authors provide a comprehensive solution for modeling how to protect the life and health of the civilian population. To the author’s knowledge, this is the first holistic study in this issue.

Due to increasing digitalization, most companies have added online retail as a new business model (BM) separate from their initial physical BM, requiring them to manage a portfolio of BMs. The literature points out that companies choose between a separation or integration strategy to manage their multiple BMs. However, business cases show that companies adopting a separation strategy may then plan for a possible integration strategy. Despite the growing knowledge in the BM portfolio literature, scholars and practitioners still lack a comprehensive understanding of the integration process of two BMs that were initially managed separately. This qualitative research draws on a cumulative multiple case study of five retailers to analyze how incumbent firms with different BMs manage their integration. We show that these firms pivoted the management of their BM portfolio.The notion of pivoting has been studied from the perspective of a single BM. In this research, we demonstrate that the process of pivoting also applies to the management of several BMs. Our results provide a generic model of the BM integration process that underlines barriers and enabling pivoting factors. Finally, by considering pivoting at this corporate level, our research adds to the ongoing discussion in strategic management regarding the way companies manage the dynamics of their BM portfolio.

Continuous learning is central to ensuring organizations remain innovative and high-performing. Corporate trainers play a critical role in educating and training employees. However, in an era of digital transformation and, more recently, artificial intelligence, trainers need new skills and methods to stay current and facilitate the transformation of the workforce. The skills gap is best filled through cooperative learning with other trainers. However, cooperative learning is hindered by different spatial, organizational, and cultural boundaries that are difficult to overcome.This paper attempts to understand how cooperative learning of trainers can be enhanced through boundary spanning. It examines the case of the corporate learning department of a German high-tech multinational through ethnographic action research by the department manager, including 21 semi-directive interviews and direct observation. Using a grounded theory approach, we explore how the concept, causes, context, contingencies, and conditions of boundary spanning enhance cooperative learning among corporate trainers.The findings show that boundary spanning leads to cooperative learning through pedagogical scaffolding, communities of practice, and a new learning culture. Spontaneous boundary spanning occurs in parallel to guided boundary spanning. Both are made possible by appropriate leadership values and attitudes, trust, flexibility, and dedicated time and capacity.Our paper provides recommendations on the key issues managers face in facilitating boundary spanning and cooperative learning among their employees. We also show how key barriers and risks can be mitigated to enable employees to learn cooperatively with colleagues from different and distant organizational units.
