Background and Objectives: Text summarization plays an essential role in reducing time and cost in many domains such as medicine, engineering, etc. On the other hand, manual summarization requires much time. So, we need an automated system for summarizing. How to select sentences is critical in summarizing. Summarization techniques that have been introduced in recent years are usually greedy in the choice of sentences, which leads to a decrease in the quality of the summary. In this paper, a non-greedily method for selecting essential sentences from a text is presented.Methods: The present paper presents a method based on a generative adversarial network and attention mechanism called GAN-AM for extractive summarization. Generative adversarial networks have two generator and discriminator networks whose parameters are independent of each other. First, the features of the sentences are extracted by two traditional and embedded methods. We extract 12 traditional features. Some of these features are extracted from sentence words and others from the sentence. In addition, we use the well-known Skip-Gram model for embedding. Then, the features are entered into the generator as a condition, and the generator calculates the probability of each sentence in summary. A discriminator is used to check the generated summary of the generator and to strengthen its performance. We introduce a new loss function for discriminator training that includes generator output, real and fake summaries of each document. During training and testing, each document enters the generator with different noises. It allows the generator to see many combinations of sentences that are suitable for quality summaries.Results: We evaluate our results on CNN/Daily Mail and Medical datasets. Summaries produced by the generator show that our model performs better than other methods compared based on the ROUGE metric. We apply different sizes of noise to the generator to check the effect of noise on our model. The results indicate that the noise-free model has poor results.Conclusion: Unlike recent works, in our method, the generator selects sentences non-greedily. Experimental results show that the generator with noise can produce summaries that are related to the main subject.

Abstract The cross-sections of deuteron-induced nuclear reactions suitable for ion beam analysis, measured in different laboratories, are often significantly different. In the present work, differential cross-sections of 27Al(d,p) and 27Al(d,α) reactions were measured, and the cross sections benchmarked with thick target spectra obtained from pure aluminium for the first time in two independent laboratories. The 27Al(d,p) and (d,α) differential cross-sections were measured between 1.4 and 2 MeV at scattering angles of 165°, 150°, and 135° in the VDGT laboratory in Tehran (Iran), and the same measurements for detector angle of 150° were repeated from scratch, including target making, with independent equipment on the SAFIR platform at INSP in Paris (France). The results of these two measurements at 150° are in good agreement, and for the first time a fitted function is proposed to describe the Al-cross sections for which no suitable theoretical expression exists. The obtained differential cross-sections were validated through benchmarking, by fitting with SIMNRA deuteron-induced particle spectra obtained from a high purity bulk Al target at both labs for deuteron incident energies between 1.6 and 2 MeV. The thick target spectra are well-reproduced. The evaluated and benchmarked cross sections have been uploaded to the ion beam analysis nuclear data library database (www-nds.iaea.org/ibandl/).

Background and Objectives: In this paper, a novel approach for regulation of the output current in the grid-connected three-level flying capacitor inverter is presented by using the sliding mode (SM) method. In the proposed method, it is possible to control the active and reactive components of the inverter output current independently, and therefore it can be employed for grid connection of the renewable energy resources or for harmonic and reactive power compensation of the local loads. The designed controller uses an external loop to control the voltage of the inverter DC link and has a constant switching frequency. The stability of the proposed method has also been proved by using the Lyapunov stability theory. The simulation results show that in different operating conditions, the proposed controller has a stable and robust response.Methods: Grid-connected three-level flying capacitor inverter is modeled by using averaged state space technique. Considering nonlinearity of the obtained model, an equivalent SM controller is developed for output current control of the multilevel grid connected inverter. To improve robustness and stability of the system against uncertainty of model parameters, a nonlinear component is added to the equivalent controller. Results: The proposed controller enjoys very fast dynamic response, so it can be employed in wide ranges of application e.g. reactive compensation and harmonic mitigation modes. In active power filtering operation, it is able to eliminate harmonic components of the grid from 20.61% to 1.34% which is compatible with IEEE and IEC standards.Conclusion: The stability of the proposed method has also been proved by using the Lyapunov stability theory. The simulation results show that in different operating conditions, the proposed controller has a stable and robust response.

In this paper, a novel method for loss reduction and efficiency optimization of the high frequency flyback transformers is proposed based on rearrangement of the windings. According to detailed analysis of the high frequency flyback transformer using FEM technique, a novel and simple approach for its design improvement and loss reduction is introduced. It is shown that leakage flux scattering in core air-gap is one of the main reasons for hot-spot point generation in the windings. So, this problem and its possible solutions are analyzed in more detail. Moreover, FEM analysis is used for investigation of the developed method and rearrangement of the winding structure. In fact, some winding structures for efficiency improvement of the flyback transformer is presented and analyzed. Finally, in order to verify accuracy and effectiveness of the developed approach, simulation and experimental results are presented. Experimental results show 3.3% improvement in total efficiency of the converter and 41.78% loss reduction in the flyback transformer.

Considering the presence of different model parameters and controlling variables, as well as the nonlinear nature of DC to AC inverters; stabilizing the closed-loop system for grid current balancing is a challenging task. To cope with these issues, a novel sliding mode controller is proposed for the current balancing of local loads using grid-connected inverters in this paper. The closed-loop system includes two different controlling loops: a current controller which regulates the output current of grid-connected inverter and a voltage controller which is responsible for DC link voltage regulation. The main features of the proposed nonlinear controller are reactive power compensation, harmonic filtering and three-phase balancing of local nonlinear loads. The developed controller is designed based on the state-space averaged modelling its stability and robustness are proved analytically using the Lyapunov stability theorem. The accuracy and effectiveness of proposed controlled approach are investigated through the PC-based simulations in MATLAB/Simulink.

Background and objectives: Dried pulps and peels of Ziziphus jujuba fruits are commonly applied as food because of their high nutritional value. It has been widely used in traditional medicine as laxative, tonic, wound healing agent and appetizer. The aim of this study was to evaluate the anti-melanogenic effects of Z. jujuba fruit. Methods: Fruit extracts were obtained by two different extraction methods, percolation (cold extraction) and soxhlet (hot extraction) using methanol 80% as the solvent. The total phenolic and flavonoid contents, DPPH radical scavenging activity and anti-tyrosinase capacity of the MeOH extracts from Z. jujuba fruits were evaluated in vitro. In addition, the effects of fruit extracts on the melanin content and cytotoxicity on human melanoma SKMEL-3 cells were determined after 72 hours. Results: The amount of total phenolic and flavonoid contents of the cold extract were found higher in comparison to the hot extract. Moreover, the antioxidant (SC50 =1.40 mg/mL) and anti-tyrosinase activities (IC50 = 0.54 mg/mL) of the cold extract were significantly stronger than the hot extract. At the dose of 500 μg/mL, the cold extract showed weaker toxicity to the melanoma cells than the hot extract. Melanin content of the cold extract was reduced to 30% at this concentration, while the hot extract had no inhibitory effect on melanin formation. Conclusion: The results showed that the percolation method was more suitable for extraction of the (poly) phenolics from Z. jujuba fruits. In addition, the results of tyrosinase activity and melanin content assays suggested that the cold extract of Z. jujuba fruit can be considered as a dermatological whitening agent in skin care products.

Background: Helicobacter pylori infection is a major cause of gastric diseases in humans that its rapid, simple and low cost diagnosis is important. Diabetes mellitus increases the risk of Helicobacter pylori infection. Objective: The aim of this study was to compare diagnostic accuracy of serologic test with histology for Helicobacter Pylori in diabetic patients with dyspepsia. Methods: This analytical study was conducted on 183 diabetic patients with dyspepsia referred to Imam Hossain hospital of Shahroud in 2014. All patients underwent endoscopy. Standard biopsy was performed as gold standard which included six gastric and duodenal samples. Simultaneously, blood samples were taken for serologic test. The presence of Helicobacter pylori was examined using Giemsa staining in histological study. Anti-Helicobacter pylori IgG was measured using ELISA in serological study. Sensitivity, specificity, and positive and negative predictive values were calculated. Data were analyzed using Chi-square test. Findings: Of 183, 104 patients (57.1%) were positive for Helicobacter pylori in serological study and 151 patients (82.5%) were positive in histological study. The sensitivity, specificity, positive predictive value and negative predictive value of serologic test for diagnosis of Helicobacter pylori were 64.2%, 78.1%, 93.3%, and 31.6%, respectively. IgG cut point for diagnosis of Helicobacter pylori was set to be 1.4 (sensitivity: 92.4% and specificity: 75.3%). Conclusion: The serologic test can be used as screening test for Helicobacter pylori in diabetic patients with regards to relatively high sensitivity and specificity as well as its simplicity, rapidity, and low price.

The current study presents synthesis and characterization of high impact polystyrene - TiO2 nanoparticles mixed matrix membranes for separation of carbon dioxide from nitrogen. The solution-casting method was used for preparation of membranes. The nano mixed matrix membranes were characterized using scanning electron microscopy to ensure the suitable dispersion of nano particles in high impact polystyrene matrix. The effect of TiO2 nanoparticles loading on membrane performance was investigated. The separation performance of synthesized membranes was investigated in separation of CO2 from CO2/N2 mixture. Effect of feed pressure and TiO2 content on separation of CO2 was studied. The results revealed that increase of feed pressure decreases flux of gases through the mixed matrix membrane. The results also confirmed that the best separation performance can be obtained at TiO2 nanoparticles loading of 7 wt.%.

Hysteresis current control method is vastly used in PWM inverters because of simplicity in performance, fast control response and good ability in limiting peak current. However, switching frequency in hysteresis current control method with fixed bandwidth has large variation during a cycle and therefore causes non-optimal current ripple generation in output current. One of basic problems in implementing hysteresis current control is its variable switching frequency that causes sound noise and increase in inverter losses and also high frequency current components injection to the source current. In this paper, in addition to the calculation of variable hysteresis bandwidth equation that fixes frequency switching, also other problems can be solved by removing the derivative part. Here, a shunt active filter has been used for removing the current harmonic components generated by non-linear loads. Proposed method is simple to perform and reliable, and also has been simulated in MATHLAB software environment

In the present investigation, spherical nanoparticles of nickel ferrite with uniform structure were successfully produced by hydrothermal method in the presence of polyethylene glycol (PEG) as a polymeric surfactant at 180°C for 12 hour aging time and the effects of the synthesis time, temperature and surfactant were investigated. According to the X-ray analysis, conversion of nickel oxide and hematite to nickel ferrite was a way to produce NiFe2O4. At 140‌°C, agglomerated particles without specific shape were formed, but at 180°C particles were homogenous with spherical shape. Saturation magnetization increased by increasing the hydrothermal process aging time.

The purpose of this research was comparison of short-term, active and long- term memory between strong and weak students in Persian language dictation. Therefore, by cluster sampling, four girl’s elementary school among girls elementary schools in academic year 1392-93 in Chadegan city were chosen randomly. First, Persian dictation test of the students were sampled at three stages. Then dictation tests were marked and the average of each three tests for every student was calculated. 20 percent of high marks and 20 percent of low marks were chosen as strong and weak groups. Thirty students who earned highest marks (m=20)were chosen as strong group and thirty students who earned lowest marks were chosen as weak group (m=14/70). Both groups answered the questions of Wechsler memory test individually. For information analysis, independent–T-test and several changeable variance analyses were used. By introducing the concept of L-limited sets and then L-limited Banach spaces, we obtain some characterizations of it with respect to some well-known geometric properties of Banach spaces, such as Grothendieck property, Gelfand-Phillips property, and reciprocal Dunford-Pettis property. Some complementability of operators on such Banach spaces are also investigated.

In order to study the distribution of Argasidae family ticks and the role of O.tholozani in transmitting the relapsing fever agent in rural areas of central province, an investigation was carried out from June to November 1992. In this study, 3371 specimens from 70 villages were collected by simple sampling method technique and subsequently were identified in laboratory. The results showed that frequencies of O.lahurensis, O.lahurensis, O.canesterini and Argas presicus were 60.90%, 4.21%, 11.81% and 23.08% respectively. O.tholozani specimens collected from Vafs zone appeared to be infected with Borrelia persica and thus capable of transmitting the disease. This finding can be regarded as an alarm for adopting proper measures to control incriminated vector.

A prospective study of 550 consecutive mothers delivered in Amin Ob. Gyn center of Isfahan University was performed to determine the relationships between maternal anemia, placental weight and neonatal birth weight. The important findings were marked placental hypertrophy in anemic mothers. (r= -/9.95) .It is probable that in anemic mothers placental hypertrophy is a compensatory mechanism responsible for an increase in fetal oxygen-uptake.

One of the challenges associated with additive manufacturing (AM) is the definition of an assessment route which considers the main process signatures of the AM process. To this end, this work presents a complete benchmark activity for the assessment of an AlSi10Mg component produced by a laser powder bed fusion process, aimed at advancing the understanding of the fatigue resistance of AM materials with particular focus on the comparison between the fatigue performances of small coupons and demonstrators. Four builds of AlSi10Mg specimen geometries were manufactured to: (i) determine the fatigue curves for both as-built and machined conditions; (ii) measure the fatigue crack growth rate; (iii) produce and test under fatigue a benchmark component used as a reference for the validation of the fatigue assessment procedure. Tools and concepts of flaw tolerance were then used to perform the fatigue assessment of the benchmark component and were shown to be successful in the life prediction. Results obtained from this wide database (related to internal defects and surface features) show that only a fracture-based fatigue assessment is able to provide precise life estimates consistent with material crack growth properties. Eventually, all the experimental results including specimens design, analysis of fracture surfaces and raw tests’ data will be made available in a database which can be accessed and used by the industrial and scientific communities to calibrate and validate alternative fatigue assessment procedures of AM parts.

One of the essential characteristics of fine-grain soils is the plasticity or Atterberg limits of them that directly are used in classification and prediction of mechanical properties and soil behavior. The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of different treatments of drying the soil sample on the plastic and liquid limits, type of measurement apparatus that used to determine liquid limit and the impact of these factors on the Unified soil classification. Also in this study, the results of the one-point method of Casagrande were compared with the usual multi-point method. For this purpose, soil samples were taken from three different forest types and five different depths in each type. The results showed oven drying of samples resulted in underestimation of the Atterberg limits and a different soil class in 33 percent of samples. Comparing the results of Casagrande and cone penetration apparatus to determine the soil liquid limit showed that the results were similar in both methods and only in one sample, there was different soil class. However, the cone penetration method is faster and requires less user experience. Finally using one-point method to determine the liquid limit, did not show difference with multi-point method and liquid limit differences between the two methods is about 0.26 percent; Which did not lead to significant displacement on the borders of Casagrande plasticity chart. Thus, in the case of sufficient experience and high number of samples, is recommended as an alternative to the usual multi-point method.

The present article aims to identify the intermediate factors regarding the effect of Islamic teachings on family economic action through an interpretative and multifactorial approach. The method is qualitative and is based on grounded theory method”. Due to the interdisciplinary nature of the matter, a semi-structured interview with 16 experts on Islamic economy, Muslim consumer behavior, educational sciences, psychology and sociology and the issue of values and actions has served as the main research tool. The samples were selected through purposive sampling and snowball method, and interviews were conducted to the point of theoretical saturation. Findings of data analysis in this three steps show that factors such as the synergy of the high quality of transfer of teachings from formal and informal education institutes, high quality of the perception of teachings by family members, high quality of family income resources, and faith and belief in the accountability in the Hereafter can create collective order within family based on the subjective value of Islamic economic teaching. The collective order is influenced by "underlying" and "structural" factors and leads to discretion behavior. This paper is also innovative in terms of its profound look into the formation of economic behavior within the family.

This study examined distrbution of household income in Khorasan Razavi province and the country for urban and rural areas, seprately. Using household income and expenditure statistics compiled by the Statistical Center of Iran during 2007-2012 the Gini index, Tile index, Atkinson index and the tenth docile to the first docile were applied.The study findings indicate that during the studied period income inequality in the country has been decreased. The levels of disparity in the urban areas have been usually higher than its levels in the country. , while the levels of disparity in the rural areas have been always lower than its levels in the country.. Morever, income distributions in the urban areas and the entire province have been always more uneven than what has been seen for the rural areas. Analysing the Tile and Atkinson indicies (ε=1) shows that both ascending and descending trends of the two indicies were consistent with the Gini index and thus, the three indicies are compatible and validate each other. On the other hand, analysing the Gross expenditures per capita for households and the Gini index shows that the levels of welfare in urban and rural areas of Khorasan were almost constant, however the index for the urban areas of the country has been decreased and for the rural areas has been increased. The social welfare often have been lower for the the rural areas than the social welfare for the urban areas. The results indicate significant differences in income distributions among the province, the country's rural areas and the urban areas.The sudy therefore proposes regional plannings to be considered.

IntroductionIn Iran, due to population growth and rising costs in the coming years and supply of food needs, there should be solutions for more production, with less waste, so the presence of robots can be justified for more production, reducing waste and reducing current costs. The present study investigates the factors affecting the adoption of automation in agriculture in Ardabil within the framework of the constructive factors of "Technology Acceptance Model" and examining the applicability of this model in the research community.Materials and MethodsIn the present study, the conceptual model factors include perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, attitude toward use, and the intention to use, that affect the dependent variable of automation. Six of the first hypotheses of this study are based on the study of the significant relationships between each pair of variables in the framework of the "Technology Acceptance Model", and the applicability of the "Technology Acceptance Model" in the research community is defined in the seventh hypothesis. The method of this research is surveyed and data collection tool is a questionnaire designed based on technology acceptance model (TAM). In this research, the population of 27670 people were investigated that include university staffs-farmers and managers of ministry of agriculture in Ardabil. Using Cochran formula, 380 of them were selected in the form of stratified random sampling as sample size. Validity was confirmed by experts in agricultural management and mechanization, using Cronbach's alpha (0.958). Also, descriptive and inferential statistics were used and data analysis was performed using SPSS20 software.Results and DiscussionThe findings of this study showed that the technology acceptance model with a final determination coefficient of 635.0 was used in the studied population, which means that the applicability of the model (TAM) was very suitable for agricultural study in Ardabil. The priorities for the effects of the variables of the technology acceptance model for the actual use of automation were perceived ease of use (1.284), perceived usefulness (1.280), intention to use (0.954) and attitude (0.478) respectively.Using the results of modeling, it was also found that the correlation coefficient between individual factors and the perceived usefulness of the application of automation has a strong relationship. The correlation coefficient between the two variables is negative and indicates that with increasing individual factors, the level of perceived usefulness of the use of automation also decreases, and vice versa. However, experience, self-confidence and financial situations, level of education, land area, number of family workforce, have not greatly increased productivity and reduced production costs and helped agricultural activities (understanding the usefulness of technology).The relationship can be considered as the most important factor in holding weak and undesirable classes in creating knowledge, experience and poor self-confidence of the respondents towards accurate agricultural technology. In these classes, the content should be presented in a more specialized and practical way to make them understand the usefulness of precision agricultural technology.According to the results of this study, the organization of workshops and periodic training courses, as well as the introduction of this technology in journals and publications and social media is recommended.ConclusionsConsidering the confirmation of the hypotheses of this research and the priorities obtained for the effects of the structures of the technology acceptance model, it can be concluded that as it is known, the two main constituents of this model, perceived ease of use and perceived usefulness have had a significant impact on the amount of technology used, or, in other words, technology acceptance. The perceived usefulness is the most effective factor in the actual use of automation. In following, perceived ease of use, intention to use, and the attitude was ranked respectively.

The possibility of application of the speckle-optical method for the objectivization of cutaneous blood flow and evaluation of vascular reactivity with respiratory arrest and hyperventilation is shown. 21 patients with arterial aneurysms (AA) of the brain were examined. Recording of blood flow was carried out on skin of the temporal region on both sides. Violation of vascular reactivity during respiratory tests in the form of development of paradoxical reactions or reduction of adequate responses to HF and HB on the side with AA has been established. The most informative are the power of the spectrum and the mean frequency of the spectrum.

The blood flow in the skin of the temporal region and the functional state of the muscles were investigated using the speckle-optical method. It is shown that the speckle-optical method can be used to objectify the skin blood flow and to evaluate vascular reactivity during breath-holding and hyperventilation. Obtained objective data of the tonic state of the anterior tibial muscle of healthy people can be used as indicators of the norm in the clinic for comparison with the results of examinations of patients with diseases of the motor sphere and the pathology of the neuromuscular apparatus, as well as in sports medicine.

In this work, density functional calculations and Boltzmann semiclassical theory of transport are used to investigate structural, electronic, and thermoelectric properties of AgSbSe2 crystal. According to the published experimental measurements, five more likely structures of this compound are considered and their structural and electronic properties are calculated and compared together. Then, thermoelectric properties (electrical conductivity, electronic contribution to the thermal conductivity, power factor, and Seebeck coefficient) of three more stable structures are investigated in the constant relaxation time approximation. Finally, the calculated temperature dependence of Seebeck coefficient is compared with the corresponding experimental measurements of others.

Background: The aim of this study was identification of the epidemiology of Prototheca zopfii species from the milk samples of dairy cattle in Isfahan, central Iran.Methods: Milk samples were obtained from 230 dairy cattle, 130 with and 100 without mastitis, in Isfahan. The samples were cultured in Prototheca Isolation Medium (PIM) and Sabouraud's dextrose agar. All P. zopfii isolates were identified by morphological and biochemical methods. Then, as a confirmatory test they were examined by genotype-specific PCR.Results: Four P. zopfii strains (3.07%) were isolated from the 130 samples of dairy cattle with clinical mastitis and there was no isolation from totally 100 samples of healthy bovines without mastitis. Specific PCR product (about 946 bp) was detected in four isolates.Conclusion: It seems that P. zopfii genotype II plays a key role in affecting bovine mastitis that confirmed other previous studies. Our study was the first, which identified the Prototheca species by traditional and molecular methods in Iran and Middle East as well.

Background and Aim: Identifying criteria of expert teacher and efforts to strengthen and use them in teaching by teachers will enhance the learning process. In this way, one of the important methods is taking the views of students. This study was conducted to determine the characteristics of an expert teacher for effective teaching from the viewpoints of allied medical students at Tehran University of Medical Science.Materials and Methods: In this cross-sectional study, 200 BSc of allied medical students at were included employing simple random sampling method. Data collection was done employing a self administrated questionnaire. Validity and reliability of questionnaire was calculated. Data analysis was carried out by t-test and SPSS software.Results: Some criterias like dominance in the scientific subjects (86.8%), power of expression and transmission the training materials (86.2%), respect for students(85.6%), good mood(85%) and work with ethic and sense of responsibility (84.4%) are important criteria for expert teacher. Furthermore, no significant relationship was found between gender and field of study and the above-mentioned four domains (p> 0/05).Conclusion: Teaching ability was the most important factor for teaching process from he view of the students which could be paid attecntion in teachers' assessment program.

Our international and multidisciplinary group is using physics inspired complex systems analysis methods to understand the factors and their interactions that together support and maintain peace. We developed causal loop diagrams and from them ordinary differential equation models of the system needed for sustainable peace. We then used that mathematical model to determine the attractors in the system, the dynamics of the approach to those attractors, and the factors and connections that play the most important role in determining the final state of the system. We used data science (‘big data’) methods to measure quantitative values of the peace factors from structured and unstructured (social media) data. We also developed a graphical user interface for the mathematical model so that social scientists or policy makers, can by themselves, explore the effects of changing the variables and parameters in these systems. These results demonstrate that complex systems analysis methods, previously developed and applied to physical and biological systems, can also be productively applied to analyze social systems such as those needed for sustainable peace.

In order to assess the relationship between obesity with food habit and body image, this case control study was conducted among 85 urban primary school children male and female aged 10-12 years old, attending Anuban School in Nakhon Pathom Province, in Thailand. Two different questionnaires were used for data collection for caregivers and students. The standard used for definition of overweight and obesity was body mass index [BMI]. Obesity was defined as percentile ≥ 95th of the sex-specific BMI-for-age growth chart, CDC. Obese children commonly (> 4 times per week) ate blanched /steamed foods as well as spicy foods. While sugar consumption was the same between the two groups, oil consumption was higher among the obese group. Compared with control children, obese children had more snacks before breakfast as well as during lunch and dinner on weekdays and weekends. Normal students had more foods- except for leafy vegetable and fried BBQ snacks. Two-thirds of the children knew about the food groups, but only one-third of them could classify foods into the food groups. Obese children knew about the food groups and could classify foods better than the way normal children could. Children gained information about foods from their parents, teachers, sisters, books, and television. Most of obese children knew they were obese, and they were not happy with their status. In conclusion, Programs must be designed to improve nutrition and in this way, parents and /or caregivers must be involved.

Background: The aim of this study was identification of the epidemiology of Prototheca zopfii species from the milk samples of dairy cattle in Isfahan, central Iran. Methods: Milk samples were obtained from 230 dairy cattle, 130 with and 100 without mastitis, in Isfahan. The samples were cultured in Prototheca Isolation Medium (PIM) and Sabouraud's dextrose agar. All P. zopfii isolates were identified by morphological and biochemical methods. Then, as a confirmatory test they were examined by genotype-specific PCR. Results: Four P. zopfii strains (3.07%) were isolated from the 130 samples of dairy cattle with clinical mastitis and there was no isolation from totally 100 samples of healthy bovines without mastitis. Specific PCR product (about 946 bp) was detected in four isolates. Conclusion: It seems that P. zopfii genotype II plays a key role in affecting bovine mastitis that confirmed other previous studies. Our study was the first, which identified the Prototheca species by traditional and molecular methods in Iran and Middle East as well.

We report a case of human urogenital myiasis in an 86-year-old rural man with a penil ulcer and numerous alive and motile larvae from urethra and glans penis. Entomological studies on adult flies showed the larvae were Lucilia sericata and Wohlfahrtia magnifica. The clinical presentation and treatment strategies are discussed.

We report a case of human nasal myiasis caused by flower fly larva in a 14-year-old rural girl in Central Province of Iran. Entomological studies on larva showed the larva as Eristalis tenax which is a rarely cause of nasal myiasis. This is the first reported case of E. tenax larva causing human nasal myiasis in Iran.
