ObjectivesUnder the background of the “double-carbon” target, thermal power is facing great pressure to reduce emissions. Thermal power carbon footprint evaluation can directly show the greenhouse gas emissions of thermal power and help tap the potential of carbon reduction. Therefore, the research status of thermal power carbon footprint assessment was reviewed.MethodsThis paper introduced the main standards and methods for thermal power footprint evaluation, and summarized the thermal power footprint evaluation process. The differences in the evaluation process were reviewed and some suggestions were given. The life cycle is divided into upstream, core and downstream. According to the high concentration of carbon emissions in the core links, the carbon footprint of the construction, decommissioning and power transmission of coal-fired power plants can be ignored in some cases.ConclusionsThe life cycle of different types of thermal power generation is similar, but the carbon footprint of waste incineration power generation does not include the acquisition process of domestic waste. Regardless of the form of thermal power, in the absence of measured emission factors, it is recommended that the emission factors select the default values of the published standards, literature and databases at home and abroad.

The heat generation of the human body dramatically varies between resting and active status, so dynamic heat dissipation is required to ensure optimal thermal comfort. Herein, we propose a spectrally self-adaptive smart fabric (SSSF) by covering polyester fabric with silver nanowires, which autonomously adjusts its emissivity in response to the body’s movement status from dry to wet states. During periods of inactivity, the SSSF maintains radiative heat insulation with a low emissivity state of 0.39. Conversely, during vigorous physical activity, its emissivity is improved to 0.83 when the sweat penetrates the SSSF, facilitating greater heat dissipation. Comparative experiments demonstrate the superior thermal management capabilities of the SSSF, with a 19.5 % reduction in heat dissipation power relative to traditional fabrics when in the low emissivity mode, and an impressive 67.6 % enhancement in heat dissipation power as it changes from low to high emissivity mode. This work provides an adaptive approach to emissivity modulation, offering an effective solution for dynamic heat dissipation of humans across various states of activity, thereby enhancing personal thermal comfort.

Neurofibromatosis 1 (NF1) is one of the most common autosomal dominant genetic diseases of the nervous system, which occurs predominantly in children. It is a multi-system damage caused by genetic defects that cause abnormal development of neural crest cells. The penetrance of NF1 is almost 100%, and the main clinical features are cafe-au-lait spots on the skin and multiple neurofibromas in peripheral nerves. NF1 can lead to intracranial neoplastic lesions, which can be divided into low grade tumors, high grade tumors and tumor-like lesions according to pathology. Most intracranial tumors with NF1 are low grade tumors, and optic pathway gliomas are the most universal, followed by brainstem gliomas, but other types of low grade tumors can also occur on other sites. High grade tumors are uncommon. Although tumor-like lesions/ unidentified bright objects are not tumors, they are the most widespread intracranial abnormalities with partial tumor nature in NF1 children. These neoplastic lesions can be treated by observation, surgery, chemotherapy, radiotherapy, targeted therapy, etc. The best treatment for different lesions is different, and their prognosis is also distinct. At present, the treatment of intracranial neoplastic lesions of NF1 in children is still controversial. This article reviews the characteristics and treatment progress of this disease, aiming to improve the public′s awareness of NF1 neoplastic lesions, provide professional plans of diagnosis and treatment, and finally promote the perfect neurosurgical therapy of NF1 patients.

Background The prevalence of dyslipidemia among adults in China reached 40.4% in 2012, and dyslipidemia is an independent risk factor for atherosclerotic cardiovascular diseases (ASCVD), and the elderly are at high risk for dyslipidemia and chronic diseases. The results of the previous survey showed that the prevalence of dyslipidemia among the elderly in the Malu district of Shanghai was 63%, therefore, it is of great significance to control dyslipidemia effectively. Objective To explore the synergistic effect of using acupoint catgut embedding combined with atorvastatin calcium to intervene in hyperlipidemia among the elderly in Malu district, so as to provide a basis for preventing and treating hyperlipidemia in the elderly and guide clinical practice. Methods As a single-center randomized controlled trial, a total of 120 elderly patients with hyperlipidemia recruited in the outpatient clinic of Malu Community Health Service Center of Jiading District from 2020-05-10 to 2020-08-04 were randomly divided into the treatment (n=59) and control groups (n=60) in a 1∶1 ratio by using simple random digit grouping methods. The treatment group was treated with acupoint catgut embedding combined with atorvastatin calcium, and the embedding was performed once every 2 weeks, 4 times for a course of treatment, while taking 10 mg of oral atorvastatin calcium tablets daily; the control group received only 10 mg of oral atorvastatin calcium tablets daily for 8 weeks of the intervention cycle. The main observational indexes were LDL cholesterol compliance and improvement in lipid levels, and the effect of this treatment regimen in different populations were explored. Results The primary outcome indicators included that the LDL cholesterol compliance rates were 79.5% and 71.4% in the two groups after treatment, respectively; there was no significant difference in the comparison of total cholesterol, triglycerides, low density lipoprotein cholesterol and high density lipoprotein cholesterol before and after treatment and 1 month of follow-up in the two groups (P>0.05). The secondary outcome indicators included that there was no significant difference in the comparison of apolipoprotein A, apolipoprotein B, lipoprotein alpha, fasting blood glucose and glycated albumin before and after treatment between the two groups (P>0.05), the comparison of the difference of BMI in the two groups before and after treatment, after treatment, and 1 month follow-up showed no statistically significant difference (P>0.05) ; the TCM evidence scores of the treatment group were higher than those of the control group after treatment (P

We investigate the viability of using data mining technologies to identify college students’ mental health issues in light of the rising number of these issues. To address the limitations of the traditional Apriori algorithm in data mining of mental health problems, an improved Apriori algorithm is proposed using the classification rule mining method. The relationship between various factors and the mental health problems of college students is better explored by this algorithm. Ultimately, the mental health care pathway that was developed during the exploration was used to conduct a comparative trial between those who received mental health services and those who did not. The experimental group’s mean score in the hyperactive concentration inability dimension was 3.25 after getting mental health care for three weeks, which was 22.6% higher than the control group’s mean score. In order to solve the filtering performance of the metal fiber filter material for high temperature dust removal, a comparative test method was adopted to study the filtration performance of metal fiber filter media, the ordinary needle felt filter media, and the poly tetra fluoro ethylene (PTFE) membrane filter media. It is found that before the aging test, the metal fiber filter media has a higher emission concentration, but after aging, the emission concentration is less than 0.1 mg/m3. The cleaning cycle of the metal fiber filter media is 2 times of needle felt filter material. The residual resistance of the metal fiber filter media is about 350 Pa, which is basically the same as that of ordinary needle felt and PTFE membrane filter media. As a new type of filter media, the metal fiber filter media has good filtration performance and can fully meet the requirements of high temperature dust removal performance.

In order to fully characterize the emission reduction performance of SO3 by low-low temperature electrostatic precipitator system (FGC+ESP), a method to test low-concentration SO3 was proposed, namely “two-stage controlled condensation + one-stage isopropanol absorption” sampling method, which can improve the accuracy of its test data. According to this method, in the pilot test, the SO3 removal efficiency of the low-low temperature electrostatic precipitator (LL-ESP) system (90 ℃ at ESP entrance) was 96.15%. In four groups of field measured data from three engineering projects, the SO3 removal efficiency of LL-ESP system was 69.1%-96.6%. The mechanism of SO3 adsorption and agglomeration by fly ash particles under low-low temperature conditions was verified. The study results can provide reference for the large-scale promotion and application of LL-ESP technology and SO3 emission reduction of coal-fired power plants.

BackgroundThe triple-to-double coincidence ratio-Čerenkov (TDCR-Čerenkov) method can be applied to the activity measurement of radionuclides by detecting the Čerenkov photons produced in a non-scintillation solution. The computation of the detection efficiency of this method is based on the premise that the energy of emitted β is completely deposited in the solution. However, this precondition is ideal and does not apply to the actual measurement because of the counting loss caused by the restrictions of a finite solution and the wall of the counting vial (i.e., wall effect).PurposeThis study aims to analyze the influence of the wall effect on the computation of detection efficiency.MethodsThe transport process of emitted β from the solution to the vial wall was analyzed in sections. Thereby the relationship between the number of Čerenkov photons and the deposition energy spectra of emitted β with different energies in different matrices was obtained. This relationship was used to further improve the calculation model of the TDCR-Čerenkov method. Subsequently, the calculation model was simplified to reduce the required time. Geant4 calculated the deposition spectra of emitted β in different matrices, subsequently, the efficiency of different nuclides was calculated using curves of the number of Čerenkov photons vs. the energy of the emitted β. To verify the accuracy of the improved calculation model, measurements were carried out on a variety of pure β-emitters.ResultsThe results derived from the improved TDCR-Čerenkov method are in good agreement with those of the TDCR-LS method. Especially for high energy β-emitters, the relative deviation of the results between the TDCR-Čerenkov and TDCR-LS methods is reduced from 0.47% for the original method to 0.02% (90Y), and 0.64% to -0.16% (32P).ConclusionsThe TDCR-Čerenkov method is more accurate when considering the wall effect in the activity measurement of high-energy β-emitters.
