The change of temperature, humidity and moisture content (MC) will lead to the change of mechanical properties of molded fiber products (MFP). However, it is difficult to decouple the effects of temperature, humidity and MC on the mechanical properties of MFP, and predict the mechanical properties of MFP during the use. In this study, the laws and mechanism of mechanical properties of MFP with ambient temperature, humidity and MC were studied. The results showed that the direct effect of temperature (20−70 °C) on mechanical properties of MFP was insignificant, and the mechanical properties of MFP were mainly changed by MC. The MC was related to ambient temperature and humidity, and the relationship between the three could be described by the modified Guggenheim-Anderson-de Boer (GAB) model (20−70 °C and 30 %–90 % relative humidity). With the increase of MC, the elastic modulus and fracture strain was increased and decreased linearly, the yield strength and failure strength were presented GaussAmp laws, and the failure strain was presented asymptotic regressed distribution law. Two fracture modes of MFP, brittle fracture and ductile fracture, were revealed by the scanning electron microscopy of the mesoscopic fiber structure of sugarcane bagasse molded fiber products. The mathematical models and the changes of fiber structure were verified by wheat straw molded fiber products and waste paper molded fiber products. This study was contributed to understand the effects and mechanism of the change of temperature, humidity and MC on the mechanical properties of MFP.

Abstract Haematopoietic stem cells (HSCs) possess unique physiological adaptations to sustain blood cell production and cope with stress responses throughout life. To maintain these adaptations, HSCs rely on maintaining a tightly controlled protein translation rate. However, the mechanism of how HSCs regulate protein translation remains to be fully elucidated. In this study, we investigate the role of transfer RNA (tRNA) m1A58 ‘writer’ proteins TRMT6 and TRMT61A in regulating HSCs function. Trmt6 deletion promoted HSC proliferation through aberrant activation of mTORC1 signaling. TRMT6-deficient HSCs exhibited an impaired self-renewal ability in competitive transplantation assay. Mechanistically, single cell RNA-seq analysis reveals that the mTORC1 signaling pathway is highly upregulated in HSC-enriched cell populations after Trmt6 deletion. m1A-tRNA-seq and Western blot analysis suggest that TRMT6 promotes methylation modification of specific tRNA and expression of TSC1, fine-tuning mTORC1 signaling levels. Furthermore, Pharmacological inhibition of the mTORC1 pathway rescued functional defect in TRMT6-deficient HSCs. To our knowledge, this study is the first to elucidate a mechanism by which TRMT6-TRMT61A complex-mediated tRNA-m1A58 modification regulates HSC homeostasis.

Watermelon (Citrullus lanatus) holds global significance as a fruit with high economic and nutritional value. Exploring the regulatory network of watermelon male reproductive development is crucial for developing male sterile materials and facilitating cross-breeding. Despite its importance, there is a lack of research on the regulation mechanism of male reproductive development in watermelon. In this study, we identified that ClESR2, a VIIIb subclass member in the APETALA2/Ethylene Responsive Factor (AP2/ERF) superfamily, was a key factor in pollen development. RNA in situ hybridization confirmed significant ClESR2 expression in the tapetum and pollen during the later stage of anther development. The pollens of transgenic plants showed major defects in morphology and vitality at the late development stage. The RNA-seq and protein interaction assay confirmed that ClESR2 regulates pollen morphology and fertility by interacting with key genes involved in pollen development at both transcriptional and protein levels. These suggest that Enhancer of Shoot Regeneration 2 (ESR2) plays an important role in pollen maturation and vitality. This study helps understand the male reproductive development of watermelon, providing a theoretical foundation for developing male sterile materials.

Abstract Parkinson’s disease (PD) is a progressive neurodegenerative disease characterized by mitochondrial dysfunction and accumulation of alpha-synuclein (α-Syn)-containing protein aggregates known as Lewy bodies (LB). Here, we investigated the entry of α-Syn into mitochondria to cause mitochondrial dysfunction and loss of cellular fitness in vivo. We show that α-Syn expressed in yeast and human cells is constitutively imported into mitochondria. In a transgenic mouse model, the level of endogenous α-Syn accumulation in mitochondria of dopaminergic neurons and microglia increases with age. The imported α-Syn is degraded by conserved mitochondrial proteases, most notably NLN and PITRM1 (Prd1 and Cym1 in yeast, respectively). α-Syn in the mitochondrial matrix that is not degraded interacts with respiratory chain complexes, leading to loss of mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA), mitochondrial membrane potential and cellular fitness decline. Importantly, enhancing mitochondrial proteolysis by increasing levels of specific proteases alleviated these defects in yeast, human cells, and a PD model of mouse primary neurons. Together, our results provide a direct link between α-synuclein-mediated cellular toxicity and its import into mitochondria and reveal potential therapeutic targets for the treatment of α-synucleinopathies.

Abstract Based on the disaster-pregnant environment and development characteristics of landslide disasters in the western region of Henan Province, a generalized model was established by taking the “oblique-cut” locking rock slope in the layered rock slope as the research object. The numerical simulation method was used to analyze the deformation and failure mechanism and stability influence law of the oblique-cut locking rock slope in western Henan under rainfall conditions. The results show that the inclination angle of the weak interlayer directly affects the deformation and failure characteristics of the slope rock mass. With the increase of the geometric parameters of the slope and the inclination angle of the weak interlayer, the failure mechanism is manifested as the slip shear failure along the level at the foot of the slope → the slip shear failure along the level at the foot of the slope (the sliding surface moves upward) → the shear failure in the middle of the slope surface → the slip shear failure along the level at the foot of the slope (the sliding surface moves downward) → the uplift shear failure at the lower edge of the rock layer. When the dip angle of the weak interlayer is constant, the slope stability decreases gradually with the increase in slope gradient and slope height, and the geometric factors of the slope control the overall change trend of the slope stability coefficient. When the slope is greater than 55° and the slope height is greater than 55 m, the shear stress of the slope locking section exceeds its shear strength, and the probability of landslide instability is greatly increased.

Circular RNAs (circRNAs) play a crucial role in cancer development and progression. This study aimed to identify potential circRNA biomarkers for osteosarcoma. Articles published from January 2010 to September 2023 were searched across eight databases to compare circRNA expression profiles in osteosarcoma and control samples (human, animal and cell lines). Meta-analysis was conducted under a random effects model. Subgroup analysis of circRNAs in different samples and tissues was performed. Diagnostic value was evaluated using receiver operator characteristic curves. Gene Ontology (GO) and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG) enrichment analysis explored functions of circRNA host genes. A circRNA-miRNA-mRNA axis depicted the regulatory mechanism in osteosarcoma. Among 1356 circRNAs with differential expression were identified across 226 original studies, only 74 were reported in at least three published sub-studies. Meta-analysis identified 58 dysregulated circRNAs (52 upregulated and 6 downregulated). Eleven circRNAs consistently showed dysregulation in tissues and cell lines, with hsa_circ_0005721 showing potential as a circulating biomarker in osteosarcoma. Sensitivity analysis demonstrated 97 % consistency. The overall area under the curve was 0.87 (95 % CI, 0.83–0.89). GO and KEGG enrichment analyses revealed host gene involvement in cancer. The circRNA-miRNA-mRNA axis revealed the regulatory axis and interactions within osteosarcoma specifically. This study demonstrates circRNAs as potential diagnostic biomarkers for osteosarcoma. Consistently reported dysregulated circRNAs are potential biomarkers in osteosarcoma pathogenesis, with hsa_circ_0005721 as a potential circulating biomarker for diagnosis and treatment.

Abstract The causal association between vitamin E status and osteoarthritis (OA) remains controversial in previous epidemiological studies. We employed a Mendelian randomization (MR) analysis to explore the causal relationship between circulating alpha-tocopherol levels (main forms of vitamin E in our body) and OA. The instrumental variables (IVs) of circulating alpha-tocopherol levels were obtained from a Genome-wide association study (GWAS) dataset of 7781 individuals of European descent. The outcome of OA was derived from the UK biobank. Two-sample MR analysis was used to estimate the causal relationship between circulating alpha-tocopherol levels and OA. The inverse-variance weighted (IVW) method was the primary analysis in this analysis. We used the MR-Egger method to determine horizontal pleiotropic in this work. The solution to the economic dispatch (ED) problem for power systems allows the power sector to reduce operating costs. However, the ED problem is a complex nonlinear and nonconvex optimization problem whose solution requires powerful algorithms. We propose a new version of the Marine Predator Algorithm (MPA), called IMPA, for solving complex ED problems. The algorithm introduces an asymmetric information exchange (AIE) mechanism, which not only accelerates to escape of local optima but also enriches the diversity of search. In this work, 12 benchmark functions were used to test the performance of the proposed algorithm IMPA. Then, the IMPA was used to solve the ED engineering problem of power system containing of 6, 13, 40, and complex 140 units. The minimum and average costs searched by IMPA are 1657962.7265$/h and 1657962.7265$/h, and they are much lower than the results of the MPA and NMPA, which means that our proposed improved IMPA improves the performance of MPA for solving the economic dispatch problem of large-scale power systems. The results show that the solutions obtained by IMPA are more competitive than those of MPA and NMPA, which provides an additional solution for cost reduction of the power system.

BackgroundThe mammalian testicular interstitial cells are not well-defined. The present study characterized the interstitial cell types and their turnover dynamics in adult rats. Additionally, the heterogeneity of the mesenchymal population and the effects of Leydig cell elimination on interstitial homeostasis were further analyzed by scRNA-seq datasets and immunocytochemical techniques.MethodsInterstitial cells were defined at the transcriptomic level by scRNA-seq and then confirmed and quantified with protein markers. The dividing activity of the major cell types was determined by continuous EdU labeling of the animals for one week. Background: Paternal antenatal depression and postpartum depression are associated with adverse health outcomes in mothers and infants; however, their prevalence among Chinese fathers remains controversial. This meta-analysis aimed to summarize the prevalence of antenatal depression and postpartum depression in Chinese fathers. Methods: We conducted a systematic meta-analysis on the prevalence of antenatal depression and postpartum depression among Chinese fathers by searching 11 databases. Pooled estimates and 95 % confidence intervals were calculated. The choice between a random-effects model and a fixed-effects model was based on an assessment of heterogeneity among the studies as well as assumptions regarding the similarity of the studies in terms of clinical characteristics, quality, design, and conduct. Subgroup and meta-regression analyses were conducted based on the scale used to measure antenatal depression and postpartum depression, the region where the study was completed, the time of the study, the study design, the number of children, publication language, the study site, and quality assessment. Summary: Ewing sarcoma is a cancer of bone and soft tissue in children and young adults primarily driven by the EWS-FLI1 fusion oncoprotein, which has been undruggable. Here, we report that Ewing sarcoma depends on secreted sphingomyelin phosphodiesterase 1 (SMPD1), a ceramide-generating enzyme, and ceramide. We find that G-protein-coupled receptor 64 (GPR64)/adhesion G-protein-coupled receptor G2 (ADGRG2) responds to ceramide and mediates critical growth signaling in Ewing sarcoma. We show that ceramide induces the cleavage of the C-terminal intracellular domain of GPR64, which translocates to the nucleus and restrains the protein levels of RIF1 in a manner dependent on SPOP, a substrate adaptor of the Cullin3-RING E3 ubiquitin ligase. We demonstrate that both SMPD1 and GPR64 are transcriptional targets of EWS-FLI1, indicating that SMPD1 and GPR64 are EWS-FLI1-induced cytokine-receptor dependencies. These results reveal the SMPD1-ceramide-GPR64 pathway, which drives Ewing sarcoma growth and is amenable to therapeutic intervention.

The Linxing area within the Ordos Basin exhibits pronounced reservoir heterogeneity and intricate micro-pore structures, rendering it susceptible to water-blocking damage during imbibition extraction. This study delved into the traits of tight sandstone reservoirs in the 8th member of the Shihezi Formation (also referred to as the He 8 Member) in the study area, as well as their effects on fracturing fluid imbibition. Utilizing experimental techniques such as nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR), high-pressure mercury intrusion (HPMI), and gas adsorption, this study elucidated the reservoir characteristics and examined the factors affecting the imbibition through imbibition experiments. The findings reveal that: ① The reservoir, with average porosity of 8.40% and average permeability of 0.642 × 10−3 μm2, consists principally of quartz, feldspar, and lithic fragments, with feldspathic litharenite serving as the primary rock type and illite as the chief clay mineral; ② Nano-scale micro-pores and throats dominate the reservoir, with dissolution pores and intercrystalline pores serving as predominant pore types, exhibiting relatively high pore connectivity; ③ Imbibition efficiency is influenced by petrophysical properties, clay mineral content, and microscopic pore structure. Due to the heterogeneity of the tight sandstone reservoir, microscopic factors have a more significant impact on the imbibition efficiency of fracturing fluids; ④ A comparative analysis shows that average pore size correlates most strongly with imbibition efficiency, followed by petrophysical properties and clay mineral content. In contrast, the pore type has minimal impact. Micropores are vital in the imbibition process, while meso-pores and macro-pores offer primary spaces for imbibition. This study offers theoretical insights and guidance for enhancing the post-fracturing production of tight sandstone reservoirs by examining the effects of these factors on the imbibition efficiency of fracturing fluids in tight sandstones.

Abstract Solute carrier family 26 member 9 (SLC26A9) is a member of the Slc26a family of multifunctional anion transporters that functions as a Cl- channel in parietal cells during acid secretion. We explored the role of SLC26A9 in colorectal cancer (CRC) and its related mechanisms through clinical samples from CRC patients, CRC cell lines and mouse models. We observed that SLC26A9 was expressed at low levels in the cytoplasm of adjacent tissues, polyps and adenomas but was significantly increased in colorectal adenocarcinoma. Moreover, increased levels of SLC26A9 were associated with a high risk of disease and poor prognosis. In addition, downregulation of SLC26A9 in CRC cells induced cell cycle arrest and apoptosis but inhibited cell proliferation and xenograft tumor growth both in vitro and in vivo. Mechanistic analysis revealed that SLC26A9 was colocalized with β-catenin in the nucleus of CRC cells. The translocation of these two proteins from the cytoplasm to the nucleus reflected the activation of Wnt/β-catenin signaling, and promoted the transcription of downstream target proteins, including CyclinD1, c-Myc and Snail, but inhibited the expression of cytochrome C (Cyt-c), cleaved Caspase9, cleaved Caspase3 and apoptosis-inducing factor (AIF). CRC is accompanied by alteration of epithelial mesenchymal transition (EMT) markers. Meanwhile, further studies showed that in SW48 cells, overexpressing SLC26A9 was cocultured with the β-catenin inhibitor XAV-939, β-catenin was downregulated, and EMT was reversed. Our study demonstrated SLC26A9 may be responsible for alterations in the proliferative ability and aggressive potential of CRC by regulating the Wnt/β-catenin signaling pathway.

AIM: To assess effectivity and safety of trifocal intraocular lenses (IOLs) and capsular tension rings in treating cataract patients with axial high myopia. METHODS: A prospective nonrandomized controlled clinical trial was conducted. Totally 98 eyes (74 patients) who underwent femtosecond laser-assisted cataract surgery (FLACS) with trifocal IOLs were enrolled in the study and followed up for 2y after surgery: 46 eyes (33 patients) with capsular tension ring implantation in the long axial lengths (AL) group (260.05). The dysfunctional lens index and total modulation transfer function (MTF) average height were similar between the two groups. Abstract Background Universal stress proteins (USPs) are a class of stress-induced proteins that play a crucial role in biotic and abiotic stress responses. These proteins have previously been reported to participate directly in responses to various stress and protect plants against unfavorable environmental conditions. However, there is limited research on USPs in cotton, and systematic characterization of USPs in Gossypium species is lacking. Results In the present study, the USP genes in Gossypium hirsutum were systematically identified and classified into six distinct subfamilies. The expansion of USPs in Gossypium species is mainly caused by dispersed duplication and whole genome duplication. Notably, the USPs that have expanded through allotetraploidization events are highly conserved in the allotetraploid species. The promoter regions of GhUSPs contain a diverse range of cis-acting elements associated with stress response. The RNA-Seq analysis and RT-qPCR assays revealed a significant induction of numerous GhUSPs expressions in response to various abiotic stresses. The co-expression network of GhUSPs revealed their involvement in stress response. Conclusions This study systematically analyzed the biological characteristics of GhUSPs and their response to abiotic stress. These findings serve as a theoretical basis for facilitating the breeding of cotton varieties in future research.

In the southeast coastal area of China, existing railway lines, constructed long ago with low construction standards for railway subgrades, face significant impacts from the construction of soft ground improvement for newly built railway lines. Through on-site monitoring of foundation treatment construction, it is crucial to select the soft ground improvement method with minimal construction impact to ensure the operation safety of the existing railway. Based on the on-site monitoring data of the excess pore water pressure, surface displacement, and deep displacement in the construction of soft ground improvement, the study assesses the extent and magnitude of construction impact. The key findings include: (1) Ranking of construction impact magnitude: High-pressure jet grouting column (pipe pile) > deep cement mixing column > MJS column > geosynthetic reinforced column; (2) Construction impact range: deep cement mixing column, high-pressure jet grouting column, geosynthetic reinforced column and MJS column are about 5 m, 10 m, 3 m and 4 m, respectively. The construction disturbance of high-pressure jet grouting pile, pipe pile, polymer bag grouting pile and deep cement mixing column are compared based on the differences of excess pore water pressure, surface displacement, deep displacement and construction disturbance range. It is provided a basis for comparison and selection of schemes for soft ground improvement of new railway lines adjacent to existing railways. This optimization effectively controls the construction disturbance of the soft ground treatment of the new line and ensures the safety of the existing railway.

ABSTRACTVaccines utilizing modified messenger RNA (mRNA) technology have shown robust protective efficacy against SARS-CoV-2 in humans. As the virus continues to evolve in both human and non-human hosts, risk remains that the performance of the vaccines can be compromised by new variants with strong immune escape abilities. Here we present preclinical characterizations of a novel bivalent mRNA vaccine RQ3025 for its safety and effectiveness in animal models. The mRNA sequence of the vaccine is designed to incorporate common mutations on the SARS-CoV-2 spike protein that have been discovered along the evolutionary paths of different variants. Broad-spectrum, high-titer neutralizing antibodies against multiple variants were induced in mice (BALB/c and K18-hACE2), hamsters and rats upon injections of RQ3025, demonstrating advantages over the monovalent mRNA vaccines. Effectiveness in protection against several newly emerged variants is also evident in RQ3025-vaccinated rats. Analysis of splenocytes derived cytokines in BALB/c mice suggested that a Th1-biased cellular immune response was induced by RQ3025. Histological analysis of multiple organs in rats following injection of a high dose of RQ3025 showed no evidence of pathological changes. This study proves the safety and effectiveness of RQ3025 as a broad-spectrum vaccine against SARS-CoV-2 variants in animal models and lays the foundation for its potential clinical application in the future.

ObjectiveThis study aimed to investigate the biomechanical characteristics of the tandem spinal external fixation (TSEF) for treating multilevel noncontiguous spinal fracture (MNSF) using finite element analysis and provide a theoretical basis for clinical application.MethodsWe constructed two models of L2 and L4 vertebral fractures that were fixed with the TSEF and the long-segment spinal inner fixation (LSIF). The range of motion (ROM), maximum stresses at L2 and L4 vertebrae, the screws and rods, and the intervertebral discs of the two models were recorded under load control. Subsequently, the required torque, the maximum stress at L2 and L4 vertebrae, the screws and rods, and the intervertebral discs were analyzed under displacement control.ResultsUnder load control, the TSEF model reserved more ROM than the LSIF model. The maximum stresses of screws in the TSEF model were increased, while the maximum stresses of rods were reduced compared to the LSIF model. Moreover, the maximum stresses of L2 and L4 vertebrae and discs in the TSEF model were increased compared to the LSIF model. Under displacement control, the TSEF model required fewer moments (N·mm) than the LSIF model. Compared to the LSIF model, the maximum stresses of screws and rods in the TSEF model have decreased; the maximum stresses at L2 and L4 in the TSEF model were increased. In the flexion condition, the maximum stresses of discs in the TSEF model were less than the LSIF model, while the maximum stresses of discs in the TSEF model were higher in the extension condition.ConclusionCompared to LSIF, the TSEF has a better stress distribution with higher overall mobility. Theoretically, it reduces the stress concentration of the connecting rods and the stress shielding of the fractured vertebral bodies.

The accuracy of the pointing error in the subreflector is of great importance to the large steerable radio telescope, so the measurement of the six degree-of-freedom (DOF) poses of the subreflector is crucial, which are measured by the detector and the laser array. The errors in the pose measurement system of the subreflector contain random measure errors and fitting iteration errors; all of them will add up to the pose measurement, which affects the accuracy of the six DOF parameters. This paper proposed the accuracy analysis method in the pose measurement of the subreflector of large antennas, which includes the error in the variable model in laser three-dimensional point space linear fitting, iterative accuracy analysis of spatial equations in Newton’s downhill method, and the analysis of the adjustment theory of the Bursa model. The experimental results show that the measure time in six-DOF poses of the subreflector in a large-aperture antenna is at most 0.5 s, while the measurement accuracy error of translation is within 0.0131 mm and the error of rotation is within 0.2323°, which indicates that the pose measurement method of the subreflector in large antennas based on stereo structured light is efficient and applicable enough to analyze the measurement system accuracy.

To evaluate the lighting color preference on traditional Chinese paintings based on the spectral power distributions (SPDs) of light sources, an experiment to examine the color preference of 40 representative SPDs illuminating two typical traditional Chinese paintings was performed in a 1:1 simulated exhibition hall. By decomposing the data, the influence trend from the different narrowband spectra on the color preference was obtained, and two key spectra with a significant influence on the color preference were determined (WLP = 425 nm with FWHM = 20 nm and WLP = 525 nm with FWHM = 30 nm). With an evaluation model using the relative spectral areas of S425 and S525, the calculation of the lighting color preference for traditional Chinese painting illumination based on SPD was achieved. Our results could provide a mathematical tool for the comparison and selection of light sources for the illumination of traditional Chinese paintings and the development and design of specific light sources.

Abstract The spread of prion‐like protein aggregates is a common driver of pathogenesis in various neurodegenerative diseases, including Alzheimer's disease (AD) and related Tauopathies. Tau pathologies exhibit a clear progressive spreading pattern that correlates with disease severity. Clinical observation combined with complementary experimental studies has shown that Tau preformed fibrils (PFF) are prion‐like seeds that propagate pathology by entering cells and templating misfolding and aggregation of endogenous Tau. While several cell surface receptors of Tau are known, they are not specific to the fibrillar form of Tau. Moreover, the underlying cellular mechanisms of Tau PFF spreading remain poorly understood. Here, it is shown that the lymphocyte‐activation gene 3 (Lag3) is a cell surface receptor that binds to PFF but not the monomer of Tau. Deletion of Lag3 or inhibition of Lag3 in primary cortical neurons significantly reduces the internalization of Tau PFF and subsequent Tau propagation and neuron‐to‐neuron transmission. Propagation of Tau pathology and behavioral deficits induced by injection of Tau PFF in the hippocampus and overlying cortex are attenuated in mice lacking Lag3 selectively in neurons. These results identify neuronal Lag3 as a receptor of pathologic Tau in the brain，and for AD and related Tauopathies, a therapeutic target.

Abstract Background Metabolism reprogramming plays a vital role in glioblastoma (GBM) progression and recurrence by producing enough energy for highly proliferating tumor cells. In addition, metabolic reprogramming is crucial for tumor growth and immune‐escape mechanisms. Epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) amplification and EGFR‐vIII mutation are often detected in GBM cells, contributing to the malignant behavior. This study aimed to investigate the functional role of the EGFR pathway on fatty acid metabolism remodeling and energy generation. Methods Clinical GBM specimens were selected for single‐cell RNA sequencing and untargeted metabolomics analysis. A metabolism‐associated RTK‐fatty acid‐gene signature was constructed and verified. MK‐2206 and MK‐803 were utilized to block the RTK pathway and mevalonate pathway induced abnormal metabolism. Energy metabolism in GBM with activated EGFR pathway was monitored. The antitumor effect of Osimertinib and Atorvastatin assisted by temozolomide (TMZ) was analyzed by an intracranial tumor model in vivo. Results GBM with high EGFR expression had characteristics of lipid remodeling and maintaining high cholesterol levels, supported by the single‐cell RNA sequencing and metabolomics of clinical GBM samples. Inhibition of the EGFR/AKT and mevalonate pathways could remodel energy metabolism by repressing the tricarboxylic acid cycle and modulating ATP production. Mechanistically, the EGFR/AKT pathway upregulated the expressions of acyl‐CoA synthetase short‐chain family member 3 (ACSS3), acyl‐CoA synthetase long‐chain family member 3 (ACSL3), and long‐chain fatty acid elongation‐related gene ELOVL fatty acid elongase 2 (ELOVL2) in an NF‐κB‐dependent manner. Moreover, inhibition of the mevalonate pathway reduced the EGFR level on the cell membranes, thereby affecting the signal transduction of the EGFR/AKT pathway. Therefore, targeting the EGFR/AKT and mevalonate pathways enhanced the antitumor effect of TMZ in GBM cells and animal models. Conclusions Our findings not only uncovered the mechanism of metabolic reprogramming in EGFR‐activated GBM but also provided a combinatorial therapeutic strategy for clinical GBM management.

Abstract. Background:. T-cell immunoreceptor with immunoglobulin and immunoreceptor tyrosine-based inhibition motif domains (TIGIT), an inhibitory receptor expressed on T cells, plays a dysfunctional role in antiviral infection and antitumor activity. However, it is unknown whether TIGIT expression on T cells influences the immunological effects of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) inactivated vaccines. Methods:. Forty-five people living with HIV (PLWH) on antiretroviral therapy (ART) for more than two years and 31 healthy controls (HCs), all received a third dose of a SARS-CoV-2 inactivated vaccine, were enrolled in this study. The amounts, activation, proportion of cell subsets, and magnitude of the SARS-CoV-2-specific immune response of TIGIT+CD4+ and TIGIT+CD8+ T cells were investigated before the third dose but 6 months after the second vaccine dose (0W), 4 weeks (4W) and 12 weeks (12W) after the third dose. Results:. Compared to that in HCs, the frequency of TIGIT+ CD8+ T cells in the peripheral blood of PLWH increased at 12W after the third dose of the inactivated vaccine, and the immune activation of TIGIT+CD8+ T cells also increased. A decrease in the ratio of both T naïve (TN) and central memory (TCM) cells among TIGIT+CD8+ T cells and an increase in the ratio of the effector memory (TEM) subpopulation were observed at 12W in PLWH. Interestingly, particularly at 12W, a higher proportion of TIGIT+CD8+ T cells expressing CD137 and CD69 simultaneously was observed in HCs than in PLWH based on the activation-induced marker assay. Compared with 0W, SARS-CoV-2-specific TIGIT+CD8+ T-cell responses in PLWH were not enhanced at 12W but were enhanced in HCs. Additionally, at all time points, the SARS-CoV-2-specific responses of TIGIT+CD8+ T cells in PLWH were significantly weaker than those of TIGIT-CD8+ T cells. However, in HCs, the difference in the SARS-CoV-2-specific responses induced between TIGIT+CD8+ T cells and TIGIT-CD8+ T cells was insignificant at 4W and 12W, except at 0W. Conclusions:. TIGIT expression on CD8+ T cells may hinder the T-cell immune response to a booster dose of an inactivated SARS-CoV-2 vaccine, suggesting weakened resistance to SARS-CoV-2 infection, especially in PLWH. Furthermore, TIGIT may be used as a potential target to increase the production of SARS-CoV-2-specific CD8+ T cells, thereby enhancing the effectiveness of vaccination.

Abstract. Background:. Severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) vaccine can induce a potent cellular and humoral immune response to protect against SARS-CoV-2 infection. However, it was unknown whether SARS-CoV-2 vaccination can induce effective natural killer (NK) cell response in people living with human immunodeficiency virus (PLWH) and healthy individuals. Methods:. Forty-seven PLWH and thirty healthy controls (HCs) inoculated with SARS-CoV-2 inactivated vaccine were enrolled from Beijing Youan Hospital in this study. The effect of SARS-CoV-2 vaccine on NK cell frequency, phenotype, and function in PLWH and HCs was evaluated by flow cytometry, and the response of NK cells to SARS-CoV-2 Omicron Spike (SARS-2-OS) protein stimulation was also evaluated. Results:. SARS-CoV-2 vaccine inoculation elicited activation and degranulation of NK cells in PLWH, which peaked at 2 weeks and then decreased to a minimum at 12 weeks after the third dose of vaccine. However, in vitro stimulation of the corresponding peripheral blood monocular cells from PLWH with SARS-2-OS protein did not upregulate the expression of the aforementioned markers. Additionally, the frequencies of NK cells expressing the activation markers CD25 and CD69 in PLWH were significantly lower than those in HCs at 0, 4 and 12 weeks, but the percentage of CD16+ NK cells in PLWH was significantly higher than that in HCs at 2, 4 and 12 weeks after the third dose of vaccine. Interestingly, the frequency of CD16+ NK cells was significantly negatively correlated with the proportion of CD107a+ NK cells in PLWH at each time point after the third dose. Similarly, this phenomenon was also observed in HCs at 0, 2, and 4 weeks after the third dose. Finally, regardless of whether NK cells were stimulated with SARS-2-OS or not, we did not observe any differences in the expression of NK cell degranulation markers between PLWH and HCs. Conclusion:. s:SARS-CoV-2 vaccine elicited activation and degranulation of NK cells, indicating that the inoculation of SARS-CoV-2 vaccine enhances NK cell immune response.

Abstract Background Acetabular dome impaction fractures (ADIF) are difficult to reduce and have a high failure rate. Consistency between the acetabulum and the femoral head is usually assessed using intraoperative X-ray fluoroscopy to evaluate the quality of fracture reduction. This study examines the effects of intraoperative mobile 2D/3DX imaging system (O-arm) on the reduction quality and functional recovery of ADIF. Methods We retrospectively analysed the data of 48 patients with ADIF treated at Honghui Hospital between October 2018 and October 2021.The patients were divided into the X-ray and O-arm groups. The residual step-off and gap displacements in the acetabular dome region were measured, and fracture reduction quality was evaluated. Hip function was evaluated using the modified Merle d’Aubigné and Postel scoring systems. Results There were no significant intergroup differences in the preoperative general data (p > 0.05). Abstract. Although antiretroviral therapy (ART) can reduce the viral load in the plasma to undetectable levels in human immunodeficiency virus (HIV)-infected individuals, ART alone cannot completely eliminate HIV due to its integration into the host cell genome to form viral reservoirs. To achieve a functional cure for HIV infection, numerous preclinical and clinical studies are underway to develop innovative immunotherapies to eliminate HIV reservoirs in the absence of ART. Early studies have tested adoptive T-cell therapies in HIV-infected individuals, but their effectiveness was limited. In recent years, with the technological progress and great success of chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) therapy in the treatment of hematological malignancies, CAR therapy has gradually shown its advantages in the field of HIV infection. Many studies have identified a variety of HIV-specific CAR structures and types of cytolytic effector cells. Therefore, CAR therapy may be beneficial for enhancing HIV immunity, achieving HIV control, and eliminating HIV reservoirs, gradually becoming a promising strategy for achieving a functional HIV cure. In this review, we provide an overview of the design of anti-HIV CAR proteins, the cell types of anti-HIV CAR (including CAR T cells, CAR natural killer cells, and CAR-encoding hematopoietic stem/progenitor cells), the clinical application of CAR therapy in HIV infection, and the prospects and challenges in anti-HIV CAR therapy for maintaining viral suppression and eliminating HIV reservoirs.

Abstract. Over the past few years, the human virome and its complex interactions with microbial communities and the immune system have gained recognition as a crucial factor in human health. Individuals with compromised immune function encounter distinctive challenges due to their heightened vulnerability to a diverse range of infectious diseases. This review aims to comprehensively explore and analyze the growing evidence regarding the role of the virome in immunocompromised disease status. By surveying the latest literature, we present a detailed overview of virome alterations observed in various immunodeficiency conditions. We then delve into the influence and mechanisms of these virome changes on the pathogenesis of specific diseases in immunocompromised individuals. Furthermore, this review explores the clinical relevance of virome studies in the context of immunodeficiency, highlighting the potential diagnostic and therapeutic gains from a better understanding of virome contributions to disease manifestations.

Highlights A layered segregated shielding network was organized in porous PBAT/Fe3O4@MWCNTs/Ag composite by scCO2 foaming and scraping techniques. The composite foam achieved an electromagnetic interference (EMI) shielding effectiveness (SE) of up to 68.0 dB and a reflectivity of as low as 23% due to the “absorption-reflection-re-absorption” shielding mechanism. The solid and foamed PBAT/Fe3O4@MWCNTs/Ag composites displayed superior retention (> 92%) of EMI SE even after peeling experiment of 500 times under 100 g weight pressure.

Abstract Background Perforation of the lingual cortex while placing dental implants in the interforaminal region of the mandible can cause severe hemorrhage. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the features of mandibular lingual foraminals (MLFs) and locational relationship between them and lingual mucosal vessels (LMVs) by CT/MRI fusion volumetric images. Methods 37 images within complete anterior mandibular region using both MSCT and three-dimensional volumetric interpolated breath-hold examination (3D-VIBE) MRI were taken from our imaging archives. After exclusion of 11 for lesions or artifacts, 26 CT/MRI fusion volumetric images were included to evaluate the frequency, diameter, and position of MLFs. The anterior mandibular region was divided into 4 equal segments under each teeth, and 40 regions were got from C5 to D5. Furthermore, the positional relationship between MLFs and LMVs was analyzed in this coordinate system. Results 62 MLFs (73.81%) were located below the incisors, followed by premolars (21.43%) and canines (4.76%). Female bias, the mean diameter of the female was 0.08 mm while the male was 0.21 mm. The total number of LMVs was most distributed on lingual side of C1 and D1. According to Spearman’s correlation coefficient, the location of MLFs was related to LMVs. The MLFs in fourth segment of D1 were positively moderately correlated with LMVs in fourth segment of D4, while the MLFs in third segment of C1 showed a weak positive correlation with LMVs in third segment of D4. Conclusions The features and the correlation between MLFs and LMVs in CT/MRI fusion volumetric images may offer reference to dentists when only MLFs can been seen on routine preoperative CT examination of implants. The study of underwater vehicle wake detection is of significant importance within the field of target detection, localisation, and tracking of underwater vehicles. Given that propellers are the propellers of modern ships and underwater vehicles, the propeller wake field represents the principal target source for wake detection in underwater vehicles. The objective of this paper is to propose a method for measuring the wake of an underwater propeller based on a position-sensitive detector. A theoretical model of the relationship between the laser spot displacement and the change in the refractive index of the wake field is established on the basis of the principle of laser beam deflection. A prototype experimental setup for underwater propeller wake measurement was constructed based on the aforementioned optical measurement method. Furthermore, the simulation of the propeller wake flow field with strong density stratification and linear density stratification was conducted based on the experimental setup. Furthermore, experiments were conducted to detect the flow field of a propeller wake. The experimental results indicate that the wake dissipation times of the propeller in a strong density-stratified water environment are approximately 800 s and 750 s. Following the stabilisation of the wake field density, the laser spot position is observed to be stable at 0.341 mm and 0.441 mm, respectively, with a corresponding refractive index change of 2.99 × 10−6 RIU (refractive index unit) and 3.87 × 10−6 RIU, respectively. These experimental results are found to be in general agreement with the simulation results of the propeller wake field. A comparison of the experimental wake measurements based on the device with the wake measurements based on a CTD (conductivity–temperature–depth) device reveals a consistent trend. The realisation of this detection technique is of great significance for the advancement of research in the field of optical detection of underwater vehicle wake streams.

The karst area has become a high-risk area for Cadmium (Cd) exposure. Interestingly, the high levels of Cd in soils do not result in an excessive bioaccumulation of Cd in rice. Carbonate rock dissolution ions (CRIs) could limit the accumulation and translocation of Cd in rice. CRIs can become a major bottleneck in the remediation and management of farmlands in karst areas. However, there is limited research on the effects of CRIs in soils on Cd accumulation in rice. The karst area of lime soil (LS) and the non-karst areas of yellow soil (YS) were collected, and an external Cd was added to conduct rice cultivation experiments. Cd and CRIs (Ca2+, Mg2+, CO32−/HCO3−, and OH−) in the rice–soil system were investigated from the grain-filling to maturity periods. The results showed that CRIs of LS were significantly higher than that of YS in different treatments. CRIs of LS were 2.05 mg·kg−1 for Ca2+, 0.90 mg·kg−1 for Mg2+, and 42.29 mg·kg−1 for CO32− in LS. CRIs could influence DTPA Cd, resulting in DTPA Cd of LS being lower than that of YS. DTPA Cd of YS was one to three times larger than that of YS. Cd content in different parts of rice in YS was higher than that of LS. Cd in rice grains of YS was one to six times larger than that of LS. The uptake of Cd from the soil during Filling III was critical in determining rice Cd accumulation. CRIs in the soil could affect Cd accumulation in rice. Ca2+ and Mg2+ had significant negative effects on Cd accumulation of rice at maturity and filling, respectively. CO32−/HCO3− and OH− had significant negative effects on DTPA Cd in soil.

High levels of groundwater containing both arsenic and fluorine are prevalent, resulting in serious health problems when consumed as drinking water. This co-pollution phenomenon is widespread and requires urgent attention. The multiple forms of arsenic and arsenic–fluorine co-contamination pose a significant challenge to efficiently co-remove both substances. This research utilized a green and stable synthesis approach to create MgLaFe layered double oxide (LDO) heterostructures, which were anchored on α-MnO2 nanowires. The materials comprise magnesium and lanthanum elements with a powerful attraction toward fluoride ions; elemental iron, which can establish stable compounds with arsenate; and MnO2, which can effectively oxidize arsenous acid, thereby enabling efficient co-removal of arsenic and fluorine. The efficient oxidation process of the MnO2 nanowire and the prompt ion adsorption process of the LDO work together synergistically. The adsorption performance was assessed through isotherms and kinetic fitting. Chemisorption was found to be the process for As(Ⅲ), As(V), and F− adsorption, with As(Ⅲ) going through monolayer adsorption on the surface of MnO2 nanowires, while As(V) and F− were mainly adsorbed by multilayer process on LDO. The maximum adsorption capacities were 111.76, 230.51, and 765.10 mg/g for As(Ⅲ), As(V), and F−, respectively. The x-ray photo-electronic spectroscopy analysis provided further elucidation on the adsorption mechanism of the MnO2@LDO heterostructure, detailing each component's role in the process. The results confirm the successful construction of the heterostructure and the efficient coupling of oxidation and adsorption.

Abstract Effects of individual single‐nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) markers and the size of “training” and “test” populations affect prediction accuracy in genomic selection (GS). This study evaluated 11 subsets of 4932 SNPs using six genetic additive methods to understand marker density in GS prediction in alfalfa (Medicago sativa L.). In the GS methods, the effect of “training” to “test” population size was also evaluated. Fourteen alfalfa populations sampled from long‐term grazing sites were genotyped using genotyping by sequencing for the identification of SNPs. These populations were also phenotyped for six agromorphological and three nutritive traits from 2018 to 2020. The accuracy of GS prediction improved across six GS methods when the ratio of “training” to “test” population size increased. However, the prediction accuracy of the six GS methods reduced to a range of −0.27 to 0.11 when random, uninformative SNPs were used. In this study, five Bayesian methods and ridge‐regression best linear unbiased prediction (rrBLUP) method had similar GS accuracies for “training” sets, but rrBLUP tended to outperform Bayesian methods in independent “test” sets when SNP subsets with high mean‐squared‐estimated‐marker effect were used. These findings can enhance the application of GS in alfalfa genetic improvement.

Previous self-similarity analysis models for turbulent jet flames (TJF) have inherent limitations in the flame tip location and velocity prediction based on experimental data. A novel model (BP-TJF) to predict the propagation process of subsonic and supersonic TJF is proposed by combining developed self-similarity analysis modeling and back propagation neural network (BPNN). The BP-TJF model is trained from three datasets of initial temperature, initial pressure, and oxygen content. The results show that the pressure difference prediction error was only 0.46 % for subsonic jets and 5 % for supersonic jets. The overall correlation coefficients (R) and mean squared errors (MSE) range from 0.95–0.97 and 0.01–0.1, respectively. The model optimized by genetic algorithm (GA) significantly improved the prediction stability. However, there is scope for improvement in the overpressure peak prediction. Due to the small-scale datasets and parameter errors of self-similar model for jet propagation, the model cannot provide real-time feedback on the interaction between the shock wave and the flame front. Jet tip locations and velocities obtained from the BP-TJF model and experiments are generally consistent in magnitude and overall trends. Without considering the flame structure, the prediction framework developed in this paper can calculate the jet tip propagation characteristics with little difference from experiments and CFD, which is a great advantage, especially in the calculation of subsonic jets.

ObjectiveThere is currently no non-invasive examination that can fully determine the diagnosis of osteomyelitis. SPECT/CT tomographic fusion imaging can provide both local metabolic activity and anatomical information to determine the condition and location. This study evaluates the diagnostic efficacy of 99mTc-MDP SPECT/CT in bone infections, compared to MRI.MethodsIn this multicenter retrospective study, 363 patients with suspected bone and joint infections or osteomyelitis were included. Participants underwent 99mTc-MDP SPECT/CT and/or MRI examinations, supplemented by pathogenic bacterial cultures and histopathological analysis.ResultsOnly SPECT/CT was tested in 169 patients, and only MRI was used in 116. 78 people have implemented both inspections and have detailed information. The diagnostic sensitivity and specificity of SPECT/CT for infection were 96% and 92% respectively, with an accuracy of 96%. For MRI, these figures were 88%, 84%, and 87% respectively.ConclusionThis represents the largest global study to date evaluating osteomyelitis and bone infection diagnosis using 99mTc-MDP SPECT/CT tomographic fusion imaging. The findings indicate that 99mTc-MDP SPECT/CT fusion imaging offers superior diagnostic accuracy compared to MRI. This is particularly evident in cases involving metallic implants and chronic infections. 99mTc-MDP SPECT/CT fusion imaging emerges as a highly suitable non-invasive diagnostic modality, facilitating enhanced clinical follow-up and treatment.

The stable operation of the process industrial system, which is integrated with various complex equipment, is the premise of production, which requires the condition monitoring and diagnosis of the system. Recently, the continuous development of deep learning (DL) has promoted the research of intelligent diagnosis in process industry systems, and the sensor system layout has provided sufficient data foundation for this task. However, these DL-driven approaches have had some shortcomings: (1) the output signals of heterogeneous sensing systems existing in process industry systems are often high-dimensional coupled and (2) the fault diagnosis model built from pure data lacks systematic process knowledge, resulting in inaccurate fitting. To solve these problems, a graph feature fusion-driven fault diagnosis of complex process industry systems is proposed in this paper. First, according to the system’s prior knowledge and data characteristics, the original multisource heterogeneous data are divided into two categories. On this basis, the two kinds of data are converted to physical space graphs (PSG) and process knowledge graphs (PKG), respectively, according to the physical space layout and reaction mechanism of the system. Second, the node features and system spatial features of the subgraphs are extracted by the graph convolutional neural network at the same time, and the fault representation information of the subgraph is mined. Finally, the attention mechanism is used to fuse the learned subgraph features getting the global-graph representation for fault diagnosis. Two publicly available process chemistry datasets validate the effectiveness of the proposed method.

Microfracture density in fault damage zones can reflect spatial variability that decays in intensity as a function of distance from the fault, which is crucial in understanding the mechanical, seismological, and fluid-flow properties of the fault system. However, few studies explored the characteristics of fracture density between the two sides of active dip-slip faults due to rare field observations. Here, we measured and modeled microfractures across an active thrust fault associated with the 2008 Mw 7.9 Wenchuan earthquake in the Longmen Shan, eastern Tibetan Plateau. The results showed that the microfracture density at the Qingping site developed more intensely in the hanging wall than in the footwall for an exposed thrust fault, indicating an asymmetrical pattern. The hidden thrust fault at the Jushui site showed that microfractures developed more intensely in vertical planes in the hanging wall than in the footwall, whereas microfractures developed similarly in horizontal planes within the two sides, indicating a quasiasymmetrical pattern. Comparing the data at the two sites with computational modeling, we suggest that fault geometry might exert a first-order control of the asymmetrical microfracture density pattern, which is helpful for revealing different deformational behaviors of rock masses in the fault damage zones and better understanding the hanging-wall effect for evaluating seismic hazards on active thrust faults.

Abstract Background Cuproptosis is a newly discovered programmed cell death dependent on mitochondrial respiratory disorder induced by copper overload. Pyruvate dehydrogenase E1 subunit beta (PDHB) is one of the cuproptosis genesand is a nuclear-encoded pyruvate dehydrogenase, which catalyzes the conversion of pyruvate to acetyl coenzyme A. However, the mechanism of PDHB in clear cell renal cell carcinoma (ccRCC) remains unclear. Methods We used data from TCGA and GEO to assess the expression of PDHB in normal and tumor tissues. We further analyzed the relationship between PDHB and somatic mutations and immune infiltration. Finally, we preliminarily explored the impact of PDHB on ccRCC. Results The expression level of PDHB was lower in tumor tissue compared with normal tissue. Meanwhile, the expression level of PDHB was also lower in high-grade tumors than low-grade tumors. PDHB is positively correlated with prognosis in ccRCC. Furthermore, PDHB may be associated with decreased risk of VHL, PBRM1 and KDM5C mutations. In 786-O cells, copper chloride could promote the expression of cuproptosis genes (DLAT, PDHB and FDX1) and inhibit cell growth. Last but not least, we found that PDHB could inhibit the proliferation and migration of ccRCC cells. Conclusion Our results demonstrated that PDHB could inhibit the proliferation, migration and invasion in ccRCC cells, which might be a prognostic predictor of ccRCC. Targeting this molecular might provide a new therapeutic strategy for patients with advanced ccRCC.

Abstract Background The main objective of this study was to investigate whether the use of bone cement in total knee arthroplasty (TKA) has an effect on postoperative coagulation status and bleeding. Methods 153 patients who underwent unilateral TKA between September 2019 and February 2023 were collected and divided into Bone and Cement&Bone groups according to whether bone cement was used to seal the bone medullary canal intraoperatively. Routine blood and thromboelastography (TEG) examinations were performed on the day before, the first day and the seventh day after surgery; postoperative bleeding, drainage, transfusion rate and the number of people suffering from deep venous thrombosis (DVT) were recorded. Results There were no significant differences between the two groups in terms of baseline clinical characteristics before surgery (P > 0.05). Pipelines are an important transportation form in industry. However, pipeline corrosion, particularly that occurring internally, poses a significant threat to safe operations. To detect the internal corrosion of a pipeline, a method utilizing piezoelectric sensors alongside singular spectrum analysis is proposed. Two piezoelectric patches are affixed to the exterior surface of the pipeline, serving the roles of an actuator and a sensor, respectively. During the detection, the signals excited by the actuator are transmitted through the pipeline’s wall and are received by PZT2 through different paths, and the corresponding piezoelectric sensor captures the signals. Then, the response signals are denoised by singular spectrum analysis, and the first several wave packets in the response signals are selected to establish a feature for pipeline corrosion detection. At last, the envelope area of the selected packets is calculated as a feature to detect corrosion. To validate the proposed method, corrosion monitoring experiments are performed. The experimental results indicate that the envelope area of the first several wave packets from the response signals, following singular spectrum analysis, can serve as a feature to assess the degree of pipeline corrosion, and the index has a monotonic relationship with the corrosion depth of the pipeline. This method provides an effective way for pipeline corrosion monitoring.

Economic growth is resulting in serious environmental problems. Effectively establishing an economic growth model that considers environmental pollution is an important topic. To analyze the interplay between economic growth and environmental pollution, a fractional-order time-delayed economic growth model with environmental purification is proposed in this paper. The established model considers not only the environment and economic production but also the labor force population and total factor productivity. Furthermore, the asymptotic stability conditions and parameter stability interval are provided. Finally, in numerical experiments, the correctness of the theory is verified.

Efficient separation of CH4 from N2 is essential for the purification of methane from nitrogen. In order to address this problem, composite materials consisting of rod-shaped SBA-15-based UiO-66-Br2 were synthesized for the purpose of separating a CH4/N2 mixture. The materials were characterized via PXRD, N2 adsorption–desorption, SEM, TEM, FT-IR, and TGA. The adsorption isotherms of CH4 and N2 under standard pressure conditions for the composites were determined and subsequently compared. The study revealed that the composites were formed through the growth of MOF nanocrystals on the surfaces of the SBA-15 matrix. The enhancements in surface area and adsorption capacity of hybrid materials were attributed to the structural modifications resulting from the interactions between surface silanol groups and metal centers. The selectivity of the composites towards a gas mixture of CH4 and N2 was assessed utilizing the Langmuir adsorption equation. The results of the analysis revealed that the U6B2S5/SBA-15 sample exhibited the greatest selectivity for CH4/N2 adsorption compared to the other samples, with an adsorption selectivity parameter (S) of 20.06. Additional research is necessary to enhance the enrichment of methane from CH4/N2 mixtures using SBA-15-based metal-organic framework materials.

Due to the difference in the quality of the global assimilation data and the ability to reproduce the real conditions of the atmosphere, the hourly atmospheric temperature at 2 m above the land surface from ERA5 cannot be used with complete confidence for the atmospheric weighted mean temperature (Tm) calculations and global navigation satellite system (GNSS) precipitable water vapor (PWV) inversion. A systematic and complete refinement method is proposed, including the compensation of elevation matching bias of gridded temperature, correction of fixed-time cusp data fitting and refinement based on the remove-and-restore model. The usability and accuracy improvement of the refined ERA5 2 m atmospheric temperature in the Tm and PWV calculation were validated based on three GNSS stations. The result shows that the average accuracy of the Tm and PWV for the entire region could be increased by 74.4% and 75.1%, respectively. The RMS of the highest station was reduced from 4.28 K to 0.62 K for the Tm and 0.662 mm to 0.203 mm for the PWV, and the RMS of other stations was reduced from 1.25 to 0.44 K for the Tm and 0.211 mm to 0.101 mm for the PWV. This overall refinement method has important implications for atmospheric remote sensing.

Under-deposit corrosion is widely present in the pipelines of oil and gas production, causing significant corrosion damage. In this paper, a novel electrochemical cathodic-polarization method was carried out to accelerate the formation of CaCO3 scale on a X65 steel surface in a simulated solution containing scaling ions. Subsequently, pre-scaled X65 steel was placed in a high temperature and pressure autoclave to conduct corrosion weight-loss experiments and in situ electrochemical measurements. The study mainly compared the corrosion inhibition behavior of four quaternary ammonium salt corrosion inhibitors, pyridinium quaternary salt (BPC), quinolinium quaternary salt (BQC), 8-hydroxyquinolinium quaternary salt (BHQ) and pyridinium (1-chloromethyl naphthalene) quaternary salt (1-CPN), in a simulated oilfield scale under corrosive conditions. The results of the weight-loss experiments demonstrated that the inhibition efficiencies of the corrosion inhibitors from high to low were as follows: 1-CPN < BHQ < BQC < BPC. The in situ electrochemical measurements showed that the immersion time and type of corrosion inhibitor had a pronounced influence on the corrosion and corrosion inhibition behavior of X65 steel with CaCO3 coating. It was also proved using both EIS and PC that 1-CPN shows the best inhibition performance in all. Lastly, the inhibition mechanism of corrosion inhibitors at under-deposit conditions was analyzed via a surface morphology observation of SEM.

The multi-global navigation satellite system (GNSS) undifferenced and uncombined precise point positioning (UU-PPP), as a high-precision ionospheric observables extraction technology superior to the traditional carrier-to-code leveling (CCL) method, has received increasing attention. In previous research, only dual-frequency (DF) or multi-frequency (MF) observations are used to extract slant ionospheric delay with the UU-PPP. To reduce the cost of ionospheric modeling, the feasibility of extracting ionospheric observables from the multi-GNSS single-frequency (SF) UU-PPP was investigated in this study. Meanwhile, the between-satellite single-differenced (SD) method was applied to remove the effects of the receiver differential code bias (DCB) with short-term time-varying characteristics in regional ionospheric modeling. In the assessment of the regional real-time (RT) between-satellite SD ionospheric model, the internal accord accuracy of the SD ionospheric delay can be better than 0.5 TECU, and its external accord accuracy within 1.0 TECU is significantly superior to three global RT ionospheric models. With the introduction of the proposed SD ionospheric model into the multi-GNSS kinematic RT SF-PPP, the initialization speed of vertical positioning errors can be improved by 21.3% in comparison with the GRAPHIC (GRoup And PHase Ionospheric Correction) SF-PPP model. After reinitialization, both horizontal and vertical positioning errors of the SD ionospheric constrained (IC) SF-PPP can be maintained within 0.2 m. This proves that the proposed SDIC SF-PPP model can enhance the continuity and stability of kinematic positioning in the case of some GNSS signals missing or blocked. Compared with the GRAPHIC SF-PPP, the horizontal positioning accuracy of the SDIC SF-PPP in kinematic mode can be improved by 37.9%, but its vertical positioning accuracy may be decreased. Overall, the 3D positioning accuracy of the SD ionospheric-constrained RT SF-PPP can be better than 0.3 m.

Abstract Although bisphenol S (BPS), as a bisphenol A (BPA) substitute, has been widely used in the commodity, it is embryotoxic in recent experiments. Nowadays, it remains unclear how BPS affects preimplantation embryos. Here, my team investigated the effects of BPS on preimplantation embryos and the possible molecular mechanisms in mice. The results showed that 10–6 mol/L BPS exposure delayed the blastocysts stage, and exposure to 10–4 mol/L BPS induced 2-cell block in mice preimplantation embryos. A significant increase in reactive oxygen species (ROS) level and antioxidant enzyme genes Sod1, Gpx1, Gpx6, and Prdx2 expression were shown, but the level of apoptosis was normal in 2-cell blocked embryos. Further experiments demonstrated that embryonic genome activation (EGA) specific genes Hsp70.1 and Hsc70 were significantly decreased, which implied that ROS and EGA activation have the potential to block 2-cell development. Antioxidant enzymes, including superoxide dismutase (SOD), coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10), and folic acid (FA) were used to further explore the roles of ROS and EGA in 2-cell block. Only 1200 U/mL SOD was found to alleviate the phenomenon of 2-cell block, reduce oxidative damage, and restore the expression of EGA-specific genes Hsp70.1 and Hsc70. Conclusively, this study demonstrates for the first time that BPS can induce 2-cell block, which is mainly mediated by ROS aggregation and results in the failure of EGA activation.
