[Objective] To improve the design efficiency of the mechanical structure of the rotor system of a rubber roller husker. [Methods] An auxiliary calculation system for the rotor system design parameters of a rubber roller husker （RRHRSPD） that can be independently installed and operated under the Windows system was developed using VB and Matlab platforms. Based on the equivalent design method and the traditional mechanical design method, the coupling relationships among the technological parameters, dynamic parameters and structural parameters of the husker were established, and the calculation principle of the structural parameters of the rotor system was also explored. VB was used to develop the software operation interface and to quickly call the Matlab dynamic link library, which formed the core computing mechanism of the system, and the system was packaged and released. [Results] A set of auxiliary calculation system for structural parameters of the rotor system of rubber roller husker was developed. [Conclusion] The calculation results of the system are accurate and reliable, which can be used not only for the design and calculation of the rotor system structure of the rubber roller husker, but also for the virtual test platform for the performance analysis of the rubber roller husker.

Objective·To evaluate the effectiveness of the tele-rehabilitation program based on the smart wearable device BPMpathway in patients after total knee arthroplasty (TKA).Methods·Convenience sampling method was used to select patients with knee osteoarthritis after TKA admitted to both the Department of Orthopedics in the Fourth Affiliated Hospital of Soochow University (Suzhou Dushu Lake Hospital) and The First Affiliated Hospital of Soochow University, from April 2021 to December 2022, as the study population. According to the sequence of the patients′ admissions, patients with an odd hospitalization number were allocated to the control group while those with an even number to the intervention group. The control group received the routine home-based rehabilitation training program, while the intervention group was additionally subjected to the tele-rehabilitation program based on the BPMpathway. At baseline, and 1 month, 3 months and 6 months after TKA, the two groups of patients were evaluated by the compliance scale of functional exercise for orthopedic patients, the Hospital for Special Surgery Scale (HSS), and 36-item Short Form Health Survey (SF-36), while the knee joint motion of the patients was measured.Results·One hundred and ten patients with knee osteoarthritis after TKA were finally enrolled, including 56 patients in the control group and 54 patients in the intervention group. There were no statistically significant differences in the general information between the two groups. The differences in knee range of motion, HSS score, and SF-36 score between the two groups at baseline were not statistically significant. Repeated measurement variance analysis showed that the between-group effect, time effect and interaction effect of knee range of motion, functional exercise compliance score, HSS score and SF-36 total score were statistically significant in both groups (all P

Objective： Explore the effects of vibration mill's vibration mass on superfine grinding performance of wheat bran. Methods： A series of vibration impact grinding experiments of wheat bran was carried out by adjusting the grinding medium mass and wheat bran mass, respectively. Results： When the wheat bran mass was unchanged, the yield of wheat bran superfine powder showed a non-linear characteristic of first increasing and then decreasing with the increase of the quality of the grinding medium, and the maximum difference rate reached 123.53%. The quality of wheat bran micro powder also increased firstly and then decreased with the increase of grinding medium mass. However, when the grinding medium mass was unchanged, the yield of wheat bran superfine powder showed characteristic of first decreasing and then increasing with the increase of the quality of the grinding medium, and the maximum difference rate reacheds 588.69%. With the increase of wheat bran mass, the quality of wheat bran micro powder decreased firstly and then increased. It was also found that the sensitivity of wheat bran superfine powder yield to wheat bran mass was higher than that of wheat bran superfine powder yield to grinding medium mass. Conclusion： The grinding medium mass and wheat bran mass of vibration mill have significant effects on the superfine grinding of wheat bran, but the effect levels are different.

Superfine grinding, involving the fragmentation mechanism of wheat bran cell tissue, is being employed by milling industry. In order to determine the effect of wheat bran cell tissue on the fragmentation mechanism when using superfine grinding, a technical scheme of the nonlinear finite element numerical simulation method based on LS-DYNA is proposed in this paper. The physiological characteristics of wheat bran structural layers including outer pericarp, intermediate layer and aleurone layer are examined first, and then the mechanical properties of wheat bran structural layers and their effects on the super fine grinding process are analyzed. Secondly, the explicit time integration algorithm of LS-DYNA is introduced, and the application feasibility of LS-DYNA in the analysis of wheat bran superfine grinding mechanism is discussed. Finally, the specific application of LS-DYNA in the determination of grinding form and load, the selection and design of the grinding media and the selection of grinding temperature are discussed in detail in the process of superfine grinding for wheat bran cell tissue. Objective To observe the clinical efficacy in patients treated with two different eruption blocking appliances.Methods Totally 40 children (21 boys, 19 girls), aged 6.5-8.5 years old, having premature eruption of permanent tooth were randomly divided into 2 groups,with 20 cases in each group: group A (wearing traditional band and loop appliance of eruption blocking during the whole day) and group B(wearing modified band and loop appliance of eruption blocking during the whole day). The patients had regular check every 3 months until the root of premature premolar developed 1/2. The efficacy of the two appliances was evaluated on the following aspects: space maintenance, losing ratio of bands, tooth mobility and prevalence of dental caries of the premolars.Results The efficacy on space maintaining and eruption impaction were not statistically different (P > 0.05), but prevalence of dental caries of the teeth in group A was higher than that of group B (P < 0.05). Conclusion The modified band and loop appliance of eruption blocking is effective and good for tooth health.

This paper evaluates the effects of horizontal web reinforcement on cyclic behaviour of RC squat wall using test results of three pairs of specimens. One specimen was tested by the authors while the other five were adopted from the existing researches. Each specimen pair was designed with approximately the same design parameters, except that uniformly distributed horizontal web reinforcement was provided in one specimen only. Shear stress demand, evaluated based on the shear associated with the development of flexural strength at the base, was approximately 3.5f′c(psi) $3.5\sqrt {{{f'}_c}} (psi)$, 6.0f′c(psi) $6.0\sqrt {{{f'}_c}} (psi)$, and 8.0f′c(psi) $8.0\sqrt {{{f'}_c}} (psi)$, respectively, for each specimen pair. Test results show that specimen with uniformly distributed horizontal web reinforcement exhibited larger deformation capacity compared to specimens without it. Specimen peak strengths, on the other hand, appear to be similar with and without uniformly distributed horizontal reinforcement and can be satisfactorily predicted by nominal flexural strength.

Los traumatismos causados por el tránsito son la principal causa de muerte en personas de 10-24 años a nivel mundial y representan alrededor del 15% de todas las muertes en varones. La carga de enfermedad de los traumatismos causados por el tránsito está distribuida de manera desigual entre los países pues la tasa de mortalidad más alta es ochenta veces superior a las más baja. Existe una clara desigualdad en el riesgo de ocurrencia de traumatismos causados por el tránsito, siendo notoriamente mayor en los países en desarrollo. Esta desigualdad se constituye como un reto mundial importante y se debe, aunque no sean los únicos factores, a muchas razones, incluyendo la rápida motorización y la pobre infraestructura. Este artículo hace énfasis en varios aspectos fundamentales cuya finalidad es informar a los programas diseñados para prevenir los traumatismos causados por el tránsito en los países en desarrollo, donde esta situación está más extendida. En primer lugar, la seguridad vial es un tema de desarrollo; en segundo lugar, los traumatismos causados por el tránsito constituyen un problema importante para la salud; en tercer lugar, los traumatismos causados por el tránsito pueden ser prevenidos mediante la implementación de medidas científicas adecuadas; en cuarto lugar, es necesaria la atención de emergencias hospitalarias y prehospitalarias; y, finalmente, la investigación en los traumatismos causados por el tránsito está relegada en los países de ingresos bajos y medios. Se discute además la repercusión de estos avances para el Perú.Road traffic injury (RTI) is the leading cause of death in persons aged 10-24 worldwide and accounts for about 15% of all male deaths. The burden of RTI is unevenly distributed amongst countries with over eighty-fold differences between the highest and lowest death rates. Thus the unequal risk of RTI occurring in the developing world, due to many reasons, including but not limited to rapid motorization and poor infrastructure, is a major global challenge. This editorial highlights a number of key issues that must inform programs designed to prevent RTI in the developing world, where the epidemic is all the more insidious. Firstly, road safety is a development issue; secondly, road traffic injury is a major health issue; thirdly, road traffic injuries can be prevented by the implementation of scientific measures; fourthly, pre-hospital and hospital emergency care is needed; and fifthly, research on RTI is neglected in low-income and middle-income countries. The repercussion of such progress to Peru is also discussed.

Abstract Background Transmissible gastroenteritis (TGE) is a highly contagious viral disease of swine, characterized by severe vomiting, diarrhea, and high mortality. Currently, the vaccines for it are only partially effective and no specific drug is available for treatment of TGE virus (TGEV) infection. RNA interference has been confirmed as a new approach for controlling viral infections. In this study, the inhibitory effect of short hairpin RNAs (shRNAs) targeting the ORF 7 gene of TGEV on virus replication was examined. Results Four theoretically effective sequences of TGEV ORF 7 gene were designed and selected for construction of shRNA expression plasmids. In the reporter assays, three of four shRNA expression plasmids were able to inhibit significantly the expression of ORF 7 gene and replication of TGEV, as shown by real-time quantitative RT-PCR analysis of viral ORF 7 and N genes and detection of virus titers (TCID50/ml). Stable swine testicular (ST) cells expressing the shRNAs were established. Observation of the cytopathic effect and apoptosis, as well as a cell proliferation assay demonstrated that the three shRNAs were capable of protecting ST cells against TGEV destruction, with high specificity and efficiency. Conclusions Our results indicated that plasmid-transcribed shRNAs targeting the ORF 7 gene in the TGEV genome effectively inhibited expression of the viral target gene and viral replication in vitro. These findings provide evidence that the shRNAs have potential therapeutic application for treatment of TGE.

Abstract Background Endothelial progenitor cells (EPCs), especially late EPCs, play a critical role in endothelial maintenance and repair, and postnatal vasculogenesis. Advanced glycation end products (AGEs) have been shown to impair EPC functions, such as proliferation, migration and adhesion. However, their role in the regulation of the production of vasoactive substances in late EPCs is less well defined. Methods Passages of 3~5 EPCs, namely late EPCs, were cultured with different concentrations (0~500 μg/ml) of AGEs, and the apoptosis, adhesion and migration were subsequently determined. The release of vasoactive substances, such as stromal cell-derived factor-1 (SDF-1), nitric oxide (NO), prostaglandin I2 (PGI2), plasminogen activator inhibitor-1 (PAI-1), tissue plasminogen activator (tPA), and in addition the activity of superoxide dismutase (SOD), were evaluated by ELISA. At the same time, the gene and protein expressions of CXCR4 were assayed by real-time RT-PCR and western-blot. Results AGEs promoted late EPC apoptosis. Moreover, AGEs impaired late EPC migration and adhesion in a concentration-dependent manner. Accordingly, the production of SDF-1 was decreased by AGEs. Although the CXCR4 expressions of late EPCs were up-regulated for AGE concentrations of 50, 100 or 200 μg/ml, a marked decrease was observed for the higher concentration of 500 μg/ml. Furthermore, co-culturing with AGEs decreased the levels of NO, t-PA, PGI2, and the activity of SOD but up-regulated the production of PAI-1. Conclusion Our data provide evidence that AGEs play an important role in impairing late EPC functions, which could contribute to the development of vascular diseases in diabetes.

Abstract Background Immunocytochemistry and RT-PCR have been widely used for the detection of circulating tumor cells in patients with breast cancer but their specificity is limited. Our purpose is to utilize a convenient and specific technology to detect circulating tumor cells in breast cancer patients. Methods To determine the sensitivity and specificity of our method, A431 cells were serially diluted with human peripheral blood leukocytes and stained with CK19. A total of 73 blood specimens including 25 healthy volunteers and 48 patients with breast carcinoma and benign tumor were tested by flow cytometry to quantify the expression of CK19. Results The detectable upper limit of A431 cells was 1 cancer cell among 104 human white blood cells. CK19 was detected in 27% of breast cancer patients but none control gives positive result. The number of cancer cells increased gradually along with the disease stages for it was the least in stage I (0%) and the most in stage IV (1.29%). Fifteen patients were observed during three month chemotherapy after surgery, and most of their CK19 expression levels declined after treatment. Conclusion Our research convinces that the detection of CK19 in peripheral blood by flow cytometry is also a specific and feasible method to monitor circulating tumor cells in breast cancer.

Abstract Background Progress in lung cancer is hampered by the lack of clinically useful diagnostic markers. The goal of this study was to provide a detailed evaluation of lung cancer tumor markers indicative of molecular abnormalities and to assess their diagnostic utility in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) patients. Methods Quantitative real-time RT-PCR was used to determine LunX, CK19, CEA, VEGF-C and hnRNP A2/B1 mRNA levels in peripheral blood and pleural fluid from NSCLC patients, compared with those from patients with other epithelial cancer (esophagus cancer and breast cancer), benign lung disease (pneumonia and tuberculo pleurisy) and from healthy volunteers. Results In peripheral blood LunX mRNA was detectable in 75.0% (33/44) of patients with NSCLC, but not in patients with other epithelial cancer (0/28), benign lung disease (0/10) or in healthy volunteers (0/15). In contrast, all other genetic markers were detected in patients with either NSCLC, other epithelia cancer or benign lung disease, and in healthy volunteers. The expression level and positive rate of LunX mRNA in peripheral blood correlated with the pathologic stage of NSCLC (P < 0.001 and P = 0.010 respectively). Furthermore, LunX mRNA was detected in 92.9% (13/14) of malignant pleural fluid samples and was the only marker whose expression level was significantly different between malignant and benign pleural fluid (P < 0.001). Additionally, expression of LunX mRNA in the peripheral blood of NSCLC patients decreased shortly after clinical treatment (P = 0.005). Conclusion Of several commonly used genetic markers, LunX mRNA is the most specific gene marker for lung cancer and has potential diagnostic utility when measured in the peripheral blood and pleural fluid of NSCLC patients.

ObjectivesAs an important support for the new power system, hydrogen gas turbines can help reduce carbon emissions and are conducive to grid peak regulation. They are the focus of technological innovation in the global future strategic emerging industries. Many key issues faced by hydrogen blending gas turbine power generation technology from demonstration to commercialization, need to be solved.MethodsH-class gas turbines were taken as the research object, and the strategic planning and demonstration projects of hydrogen blending gas turbine power generation in China and abroad were introduced, and the technology routes of H-class gas turbines of major gas turbine manufacturers were compared. The analysis and suggestion was made from four aspects for the scale application of future hydrogen blending gas turbine power generation technology, including hydrogen source, system transformation, emission impact and hydrogen blending power generation cost.ResultsRenewable energy electrolysis of water to produce hydrogen will be the main source of hydrogen blending gas turbine power generation. In addition, the development of new dry low nitrogen oxide burners, which are suitable for unstable combustion of hydrogen blending, will be the key direction for future hydrogen blending gas turbine system transformation. The higher the hydrogen volume percentage is, the greater the CO2 emission reduction is. However, the NOx emission is on an upward trend. Moreover, there is a risk of exceeding the standard value, and the future cost of hydrogen blending gas turbine power generation can reach the same level as the cost of natural gas power generation.ConclusionsWith the reduction of the cost of large-scale renewable energy hydrogen production, and the implementation of carbon tax and the maturity of hydrogen blending power generation technology, the gas turbine hydrogen blending power generation will gradually enter large-scale application.

Objective In parts of Chengdu, the underlying bedrock in expansive soil area is mudstone, providing a conducive space for groundwater accumulation. This leads to the swelling of expansive soil upon water absorption, causing significant expansion pressure that can easily crack the sidewalls of station structures in the area. To prevent such occurrences, it is necessary to conduct in-depth research on the mechanical characteristics of tension-prone parts such as side walls, middle slabs, and top slabs during the construction of station main structure in this area. Method Taking the main structure Chengdu Metro Line 17 Weiling Station East Extension Line Phase II project as research object, the construction procedures of station main structure are introduced. By employing laboratory tests and numerical simulation methods, the stress variation characteristics of tension-prone areas under different construction procedures are analyzed. The most unfavorable monitoring locations for the major influencing construction processes are identified. Result & Conclusion The free expansion rate of expansive soil within the station construction area is over 40.0%, with a maximum of 48.0%, classifying it as weak expansive soil. The expansion pressure decreases with increasing natural moisture content, with the on-site soil expansion force measured at 42.8 kPa. The construction of Weiling Station main structure adopts a construction method of ′both ends closing towards the middle′, which reduces the exposure time of the expansive soil foundation pit after excavation, successfully preventing cracks in the main structure such as the sidewalls. Removing the first and second supports significantly increases tensile stress in the structure, marking it as a major influencing construction process. The most critical stress locations in the main structure are 7.23 m from the middle slab on the sidewalls of first basement level, 4.00 m from the right sidewall on both the top and bottom slabs, and the midpoint of the middle slab span, with a maximum tensile stress of 0.587 MPa, meeting safety control requirements.

Osteosarcoma (OS) is a primary bone cancer mostly found in adolescents and elderly individuals. The treatment of OS is still largely dependent on traditional chemotherapy. However, the high incidence of drug resistance remains one of the greatest impediments to limiting improvements in OS treatment. Recent findings have indicated that the transcription factor FOXM1 plays an important role in various cancer-related events, especially drug resistance. However, the possible role of FOXM1 in the resistance of OS to methotrexate (MTX) remains to be explored. Here, we find that FOXM1, which confers resistance to MTX, is highly expressed in OS tissues and MTX-resistant cells. FOXM1 overexpression promotes MTX resistance by enhancing autophagy in an HMMR/ATG7-dependent manner. Importantly, silencing of FOXM1 or inhibiting autophagy reverses drug resistance. These findings demonstrate a new mechanism for FOXM1-induced MTX resistance and provide a promising target for improving OS chemotherapy outcomes.

Cetuximab (CET), a human murine chimeric IgG monoclonal antibody and an inhibitor of epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR), has been shown to be effective in treating various types of cancer. However, its use is hindered by limitations such as resistance development, variability in patient response, side effects, and challenges in biomarker identification. Therefore, CET is often combined with other targeted therapies or chemotherapies to enhance its effectiveness. In this study, we investigate the anticancer effects and underlying mechanisms of the combination of CET, an EGFR inhibitor, and STA9090, an inhibitor of heat shock protein 90 (Hsp90), in both in vitro and in vivo models of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). The results demonstrate significantly stronger effects on NSCLC cells in response to combination therapy than to treatment with either agent alone, indicating that the combination of CET and STA9090 has potential synergistic effects. Additionally, the combination therapy inhibits tumor growth in a xenograft nude mouse model more effectively than treatment with either agent alone, suggesting improved efficacy when used together. Furthermore, the synergistic effects of the combination therapy are likely due to inactivation of the receptor tyrosine kinase (RTK) pathway, which is overly activated in cancer and contributes to tumor growth, angiogenesis, and metastasis. Consequently, our findings suggest that STA9090 has potent direct antitumor activity and synergizes with CET against NSCLC tumors. It is highly likely that these synergistic effects are mediated through RTK pathway inactivation caused by the combination. Therefore, our findings strongly and consistently support the potential synergistic effect of STA9090, an RTK inhibitor, in combination with EGFR-targeting agents.

The traditional method for analyzing the mechanism of stator winding inter turn short-circuit faults of synchronous condensers usually assumes that the stator current of the motor is close to three-phase symmetry, and based on this, a mathematical representation of the fault current of synchronous condensers is established. However, once a stator winding inter turn short-circuit fault occurs, the symmetry of the three-phase stator current of the synchronous condenser will be disrupted, making the mathematical representation established by traditional fault mechanism analysis methods unable to accurately reflect the changes in the internal electrical quantities of the motor. A mathematical model is established for the instantaneous active and reactive power of a synchronous condenser after a fault by introducing the symmetrical component method. Using the second harmonic in the instantaneous active and reactive power for stator winding inter turn short-circuit fault diagnosis is proposed. The simulation and experimental results indicate that compared to the traditional method of diagnosing faults using the ratio of the third harmonic of stator current to the amplitude of the fundamental wave, the proposed method can improve the diagnostic sensitivity by at least seven times under mild fault conditions, making it easy to complete early fault diagnosis. At the same time, the fault feature quantities in the proposed method are not affected by the synchronous condenser operating conditions and fault locations, and also have strong robustness.

We present the results of two population surveys conducted 10 years apart (December 2010–February 2011 and December 2020–January 2021) of the Critically Endangered white-headed langur Trachypithecus leucocephalus in the Chongzuo White-Headed Langur National Nature Reserve, Guangxi Province, China. In the first survey, we recorded 818 individuals in 105 groups and 16 solitary adult males. In the second survey, we recorded 1,183 individuals in 128 groups and one solitary adult male. As a result of government policies, poaching for food and traditional medicine is no longer a primary threat to these langurs. However, severe forest loss and fragmentation caused by human activities could limit any future increase of this langur population.

The inter-turn short circuit fault of wingding is a typical serious fault of the new synchronous condenser, which has a serious impact on the long-term operation of the condenser and the stability of the power grid. In order to ensure the reliable and stable operation of the new synchronous condenser, a method of online diagnosis and location of rotor inter-turn short circuit fault is proposed in this paper. Based on the distortion of the air-gap magnetic field magnetomotive force caused by fault it is deduced that the phenomenon of even harmonic circulation will occur in the same phase and double branches of the stator. Through Fourier decomposition of the branch circulation, the obvious characteristic quantity of harmonics is extracted and analyzed. It is concluded that the characteristic quantity is only related to the spatial position of the rotor where the fault is located, and has nothing to do with the number of fault turns. Therefore, this characteristic quantity can help realize fault diagnosis and location. Based on the TTS-300-2 type synchronous condenser which has been put into use on a large scale, a simulation model is established with the actual condenser in the finite element software while an experiment platform is developed with a condenser simulator for experiments. The simulation and experimental results validate the effectiveness of locating rotor inter turn short circuit faults through branch circulating current harmonics.

BackgroundThe separation and removal of fission products and the recovery of carrier molten salt during nuclear fuel reprocessing in molten salt reactors reduces waste and facilitates useful substance recycling.PurposeThis study aims to separate and remove the rare earth (RE) fission products and recovery of carrier molten salts.MethodsFirstly, high temperature precipitation reactions of rare earth (RE = Ce, Nd, Sm, Eu, Y, Yb) and thorium fluorides were studied in LiF-BeF2 melt using sodium sulfide hydate (Na2S·5H2O) as the precipitant. Their removal ratios were subsequently compared under different conditions. Then, a combined precipitation distillation method was employed to further heat the precipitated mixed salt to 950 °C and distilled under vacuum conditions at a pressure of 10 Pa for 20 min. The content and removal ratio of rare earth Nd, as well as contents of oxygen and sulfur, in condensed collected salts were investigated after using above improved precipitation-distillation processing. Finally, further analysis of the composition of sediment was conducted using X-ray Diffraction (XRD), X-ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy (XPS) and Energy Dispersive Spectrometer (EDS).ResultsThe results demonstrate that RE removal ratios are less than 90% when the RE to precipitant ratio is 1:2 at 600 ℃ whilst the RE Nd content in the salt collected by condensation is reduced to 1.39×10-4 g∙g-1, and its removal ratio is increased to 99.6% with further improved precipitation-distillation processing. Simultaneously, the oxygen and sulfur contents are 8.5×10-5 g∙g-1 and 1.50×10-4 g∙g-1, respectively. Analysis results of XRD, XPS and EDS indicate that the sediment mainly consists of RE sulfide and sulfur oxide.ConclusionsThis study confirms the feasibility of separating RE from waste salt using the sulfide precipitation method and that over 99% RE separation efficiency can be achieved using precipitation-distillation combined treatment. Therefore, this provides a reference method for purifying waste salt and realizing molten salt reuse.

Global warming poses a threat to rice production. Breeding heat-tolerant rice is an effective and economical approach to address this challenge. African rice is a valuable genetic resource for developing heat-tolerant crops due to its intricate mechanism for adapting to high temperatures. Oryza longistaminata, a widely distributed wild rice species in Africa, may harbor an even richer gene pool for heat tolerance, which remains untapped. In this study, we identified three heat tolerance QTLs from O. longistaminata at the seedling stage, including novel heat tolerance loci qTT4 and qTT5. Our findings demonstrated that the O. longistaminata alleles for these two QTLs can enhance the heat tolerance of rice seedlings. Remarkably, qTT5 was mapped to a region spanning approximately 287.2 kb, which contains 46 expressing genes. Through the analysis of Gene Ontology and expression differences under heat induction, we identified four candidate genes. Our results lay the foundation for discovering heat tolerance genes underlying O. longistaminata and developing new genetic resources for heat-tolerant rice breeding.

Due to the unique self-acceleration, self-healing, and non-diffraction properties, Airy beams have been explored extensively and found applications in various fields. It has been proven as an essential aspect to tune the trajectory of Airy beams for extensive applications. In this paper, we propose a method based on liquid crystal (LC) alignment with metasurfaces, which enables dynamic tuning of the trajectory of Airy beams. Benefiting from both the tunable property of LCs and the compact alignment of metasurfaces, we achieve a sizeable linear potential in a short distance, which leads to the effective tuning of the trajectory of Airy beams dynamically. The introduction of metasurfaces into the alignment of LCs provides a promising method to manipulate the planar optical field.

Abstract Objectives This study was to identify and characterize Decapod iridescent virus 1 (DIV1) in the outbreaks reported in two whiteleg shrimp farms and one black tiger shrimp farm located in northern Taiwan in 2020. Methods The histopathology, electron microscopy and polymerase chain reaction (PCR) specific for the DIV1 were used to identify the virus, and the phylogenetic analysis was performed by comparing the major capsid protein gene fragment of DIV1s from Taiwan with reference sequences of the family Iridoviridae. Results DIV1 was identified by diagnostic PCR and caused mild mortality (20%) in cultured Penaeus monodon and high mortality (100%) in cultured whiteleg shrimp. Cultured P. monodon was first found to be infected with DIV1 through natural route of infection. Histopathological examination showed dark‐eosinophilic cytoplasmic inclusions in the degenerative cells of targeted hematopoietic tissues. For electron microscopy, a non‐enveloped virus particle was observed from homogenates of mixed target organs through negative staining with a diameter of 112±2 nm. Nucleotide sequences of DIV1 isolates from the Taiwanese outbreak are 100% identical to those from the PRC. Conclusions Based on the clinical evidence, mortality rates, histopathology, electron microscopy examinations and phylogenetic analysis, it is believed that DIV1 is the causative agent of the outbreak. This is the first report of DIV1 in cultured shrimp in Taiwan. The emergence of DIV1 signals a warning to shrimp aquaculture farmers worldwide.

The Angle of Arrival (AOA) fluctuation caused by oceanic turbulence is the critical factor affecting the performance of underwater communication and imaging systems. Based on the general Oceanic Turbulence Optical Power Spectrum (OTOPS), this paper derives analytical solutions for the full interval of the Wave Structure Function (WSF) and the AOA fluctuation variance of the Gaussian beam using the Rytov approximation method applicable to weak turbulence conditions. The approximate solutions of the above physical quantities and the Spatial Coherence Radius (SCR) in the asymptotic intervals of large spacing (ρ≫η, where ρ denotes spacing andη denotes Kolmogorov microscale) and small spacing (ρ≪η) are also discussed. The numerical results show that the existing results have a large deviation around the Fresnel ratio Λ0=1 when ρ≫η. On the basis of this, the relationship between AOA fluctuation variance andρ/η is also analyzed. In the asymptotic interval ρ≪η, the AOA fluctuation variance is almost constant. When in the interval ρ≈η, the AOA fluctuation variance decreases sharply. When in the asymptotic interval ρ≫η, the decline of the AOA fluctuation variance becomes gradually flat. The results derived in this paper are more accurate and applicable to a wider range. These results will enable a better study of the propagation properties of Gaussian beams in weak oceanic turbulence.

Iron is one of the most important basic materials in infrastructure development, spatial and temporal variation characteristics analysis of infrastructure iron stocks is conducive to revealing its distribution and change patterns from different scales, which can provide a scientific basis for sustainable urban development and iron resource management in China. In this article, we first calculated provincial infrastructure iron stock data from 2000 to 2020. Then, fitting equations between nighttime lighting data and infrastructure iron stock are constructed to simulate the spatial distribution of China’s infrastructure iron stock at 500 m resolution from 2000 to 2020. Finally, the spatial and temporal dynamics of China’s infrastructure iron stock is analyzed from four scales: national, regional, provincial, and urban agglomeration. The results show as follows: (1) China’s infrastructure iron stock grew at an average annual rate of 26.42% from 2000 to 2020, with China’s infrastructure iron stock increasing 6.28 times over the 21 years. Construction facilities are the most important part of the infrastructure iron stock, and its share is still increasing. (2) On a regional scale, the high-growth type of infrastructure iron stock is mainly distributed in the eastern region, while the no-obvious-growth type is mainly distributed in the western region. The high grade of infrastructure iron stock is mainly distributed in the eastern region, while the low grade is mainly distributed in the western region. (3) On a provincial scale, the highest share of no-obvious-growth type of infrastructure iron stock is in Xinjiang. The highest proportion of infrastructure iron stock of high-growth type is in Jiangsu. The highest proportion of low-grade infrastructure iron stock is in Xinjiang. The highest proportion of infrastructure iron stock of high grade is in Beijing. (4) In terms of urban agglomerations, the high-growth type of infrastructure iron stock is mainly located in Shanghai–Nanjing–Hangzhou, while the no-obvious-growth type is mainly located in the Middle south of Liaoning. The high-grade infrastructure iron stock is mainly distributed in Shanghai–Nanjing–Hangzhou, while the low grade is mainly distributed in Sichuan–Chongqing.

The clinical oncogenic functions and mechanisms of activating transcription factor 1 (ATF1) in the progression of lung adenocarcinoma have not been completely elucidated. In this study, by employing human lung adenocarcinoma tissues and cells, we detect the correlation of ATF1 expression with the clinicopathological features and prognosis of patients with lung adenocarcinoma and find that ATF1 promotes lung adenocarcinoma cell proliferation and migration by transcriptionally enhancing zinc finger protein 143 (ZNF143) expression. ATF1 and ZNF143 are strongly expressed in lung adenocarcinoma tissues compared with those in the adjacent normal tissues, and high ATF1 and ZNF143 expressions are related to poor disease-free survival of lung adenocarcinoma patients. ATF1 overexpression results in increased proliferation and migration of lung adenocarcinoma cells, whereas knockdown of ATF1 inhibits cell proliferation and migration. Furthermore, ATF1 transcriptionally regulates the expression of ZNF143, and ATF1 and ZNF143 expressions are positively correlated in lung adenocarcinoma tissues. ZNF143 knockdown blocks lung adenocarcinoma cell migration, which is mediated by ATF1 upregulation. Hence, this study provides a potential therapeutic candidate for the treatment of lung adenocarcinoma.

MoO3/WO3 composite films with different MoO3 deposition cycles were prepared to use conductive glass as the substrate by combining hydrothermal method and electrochemical deposition method. Electrochromic reversibility, optical density(ΔOD), coloration efficiency, stability and responding time of MoO3/WO3 composite film were obtained by electrochomical measurement technologies and spectral tests. The results show that the MoO3/WO3 composite film with 8 MoO3 electrodeposited cycles has the best electrochromic performance compared with single WO3 nanorod film or MoO3 film, and the electrochromic reversibility is 62.19%, the optical density is 0.61, the coloration efficiency is 153.16 cm2/C, the coloring and bleaching responding time is 8.37 s and 4.77 s, respectively. It the meanwhile, it has a narrower band gap and higher cyclic stability.

This paper summarized the nursing management for a patient with intertrochanteric fracture combined with pressure injuries in the left buttocks. Effective treatment plan was made based on the nursing evaluation of stage of pressure injuries. Wound dressing material and dressing change methods were carefully considered according to the different phases of wound healing. Targeted nursing interventions were carried out to improve the wound healing of the patient with pressure injuries. Abstract Background At present, the hereditary hearing loss homepage, ( https://hereditaryhearingloss.org/ ), includes 258 deafness genes and more than 500 genes that have been reported to cause deafness. With few exceptions, the region-specific distributions are unclear for many of the identified variants and genes. Methods Here, we used a custom capture panel to perform targeted sequencing of 518 genes in a cohort of 879 deaf Chinese probands who lived in Yunnan. Mutation sites of the parents were performed by high-throughput sequencing and validated by Sanger sequencing. Results The ratio of male to female patients was close to 1:1 (441:438) and the age of onset was mainly under six. Most patients (93.5%) were diagnosed with moderate to severe deafness. Four hundred and twenty-eight patients had variants in a deafness gene, with a detection rate of 48.7%. Pathogenic variants were detected in 98 genes and a number of these were recurrent within the cohort. However, many of the variants were rarely observed in the cohort. In accordance with the American College of Medical Genetics and Genomics, pathogenic, likely pathogenic and variants of uncertain significance accounted for 34.3%, 19.3% and 46.4% of all detected variants, respectively. The most common genes included GJB2, SLC26A4, MYO15A, MYO7A, TMC1, CDH23, USH2A and WFS1, which contained variants in more than ten cases. The two genes with the highest mutation frequency were GJB2 and SLC26A4, which accounted for 28.5% (122/428) of positive patients. We showed that more than 60.3% of coding variants were rare and novel. Of the variants that we detected, 80.0% were in coding regions, 17.9% were in introns and 2.1% were copy number variants. Conclusion The common mutation genes and loci detected in this study were different from those detected in other regions or ethnic groups, which suggested that genetic screening or testing programs for deafness should be formulated in accordance with the genetic characteristics of the region.

Cervical carcinoma (CC) is the one of most common gynecologic cancers worldwide. The ribosomal proteins (RPs) are essential for ribosome assembly and function, and it has been verified that the abnormal expression of RPs was closely associated with tumorigenesis. In this study, we found that the RP large subunit 24 (RPL24) expression level was upregulated after the CC cell lines SiHa and HeLa were treated with Cisplatin (CDDP) in vitro. Simultaneously, a nude mouse xenograft model was used to examine the effect of RPL24 on tumor growth in vivo, which showed that overexpression of RPL24 can suppress tumor growth. Furthermore, we proved that RPL24 expression increased after CC patients were treated with concurrent chemoradiotherapy (CCRT), and the higher expression of RPL24 predicted a better prognosis using clinical data from 40 CC patients, verified via the Kaplan-Meier Plotter and LOGpc. These results revealed that RPL24 can be considered a potential biomarker to predict the prognosis of CC patients and assess CCRT efficacy.

BackgroundAn electrolyte waste salt containing LiCl and various products is generated during the pyroprocessing of spent nuclear fuel in metal fast reactors. Separating metal impurities from waste salt can purify molten salt, facilitate salt recycling, and reduce the amount of waste salt, achieving waste minimization.PurposeThis study aims to investigate the effects of key factors on the application of the cold finger crystallization method used for removal of Sr and Ba from molten LiCl salt.MethodsA homemade cold finger experimental apparatus was applied to the experimental removal of two alkaline earth metals, Sr and Ba, from molten LiCl salt, and Fluent software was employed to simulate the application of cold finger crystallization equipment during dry reprocessing. The effects of crystal growth time, initial crystallization temperature, and initial SrCl2/BaCl2 concentrations on the removal ratio of the crystalline salt during the process were analyzed.ResultsThe initial temperature of molten salt is a critical factor that influences cold finger separation efficiency. When the initial temperature reaches 660 ℃, the removal efficiency improves. Moreover, when the impurity contents of Sr and Ba in molten salt are lower than 0.55%(w/w), the removal efficiency of the cold finger crystallization method can exceed 80%. Further analysis shows that the removal effects of different parts of molten salt crystals differ. The solvent salt at the top of the molten salt crystal is better, and the removal ratio of the bottom and inner salts is lower. Therefore, the optimal conditions for removing Sr and Ba from LiCl crystalline salt require an initial temperatures of 660~670 ℃, an airflow intensity of 10 L·min-1, and a growth time of 20 min. Under these optimal conditions, the removal ratio can reach 90%.ConclusionsThe proposed approach is feasible for purifying solvent salts from electrolyte waste molten salt via cold finger crystallization. This study provides a reference for purifying waste salt and reusing molten salt.

China’s chronic disease management suffers from problems such as unclear institutional function， insufficient information technology application， and weak regulation support. On the basis of current chronic disease management condition in China， this paper proposes to apply the concept of “people-centered” integrated health management to community chronic disease management and discusses the content and procedure of establishing an integrated community-based chronic disease management model driven by massive databases. The model innovatively combines technology integration， data integration and service integration， and can accurately and efficiently realize the "people-centered" full-course health management of various chronic diseases. Shanghai has provided integrated community-based chronic disease management service for 1.98 million citizens through applying this model. The model warrants further effectiveness and economic evaluation. This study provides precious experience for the development of chronic disease prevention and treatment in China.

ObjectiveTo evaluate the effect of standardized blood pressure measurement in consulting room （SBPM） model on blood pressure screening of non-hypertensive patients in community.MethodsFour communities were randomly selected from Fengxian District of Shanghai， and non-hypertensive patients in the communities were included for screening. Based on the communities， participants were further classified into the intervention group and control group. A one-year intervention study was conducted from January 1， 2021 to December 31， 2021. The intervention group received the intervention measures of standardized measurement， and the control group remained the routine measurement. The distribution of blood pressure values and last digit of the values between the intervention group and control group were tested using Chi-square test and normality test. Then changes in abnormal blood pressure rate before and after the intervention were determined by double difference method. Statistical analysis was performed using SPSS 20.0.ResultsA total of 15 368 participants were included in the intervention group， and 19 811 participants in the control group. After the intervention， range of the last digit of blood pressure values in the intervention group was 9.55%‒10.41%， of which that of systolic and diastolic blood pressure were equally distributed （P=0.932 and 0.871， respectively）. The range of the last digit in the control group was 1.31%‒42.58%， of which that of systolic and diastolic blood pressure showed unequal distribution （P

Objective To investigate the antibacterial properties, biocompatibility and mechanical properties of Cu-ZnO-loaded dental veneering porcelain to provide an experimental basis for the development of new dental veneering porcelain. Methods Cu-ZnO nanoparticles were added to IPS E.max Ceram for restorative veneer porcelain at different mass percentages of 0 wt%, 1 wt%, 2 wt%, 3 wt%, 4 wt%, 5 wt%, and 6 wt% using ball milling in ceramic powder. A cylindrical specimen with a diameter of 20 mm and a thickness of 2 mm was prepared by high-temperature sintering. Scanning electron microscopy was used to observe the surface morphologies of nano-Cu-ZnO and the specimens. The antibacterial effect of Escherichia coli (E. coli) was quantitatively studied by the plate colony counting method. The CCK-8 method was used to evaluate in vitro the cytotoxicity of the tested piece to mouse fibroblasts (L929). Live and dead cells were observed by fluorescence microscopy. The mechanical properties of modified IPS E. Max Ceram veneering porcelain were tested by a three-point bending strength test. Results Under the scanning electron microscope, Cu-ZnO appears with a block-like structure and can be seen dispersed in the veneering porcelain. When the nano Cu-ZnO loading was 1 wt%, 2 wt%, 3 wt%, and 4 wt%, the antibacterial rates of the specimens were 24.85%, 67.94%, 96.92%, and 99.99%, respectively, and the difference between the experimental groups and the control group was statistically significant (F = 23.308,P = 0.001). The relative growth rate of each group was greater than 80% after coculture with mouse fibroblast cells (L929) for 1 day and 3 days, and there was no significant difference between the groups. The morphology of L929 cells was normal after coculture for 24 hours. With the increase in the Cu-ZnO concentration, the flexural strength of the specimen exhibited an increasing trend followed by a decreasing trend. The bending strength of the specimen loaded with 3 wt% nano Cu-ZnO reached the maximum value (84.728 ± 6.82) MPa, and there was no statistically significant difference between groups (F = 0.633,P = 0.702). Conclusion The antibacterial rate of IPS E. max Ceram veneering porcelain loaded with 3 wt% nano Cu-ZnO was more than 96% against E. coli after high-temperature sintering at 750 ℃. The bending strength reached the maximum (84.728 ± 6.82) MPa, and there was no obvious cytotoxicity.

Natural ventilation has an important impact on people's work and life. Reasonable use of natural ventilation can effectively improve indoor air quality and thermal comfort, reduce the use of air conditioning and reduce energy consumption. With the continuous development of urbanization, many apartments cannot effectively use natural ventilation. This paper uses CFD simulation to analyze the improvement effect of indoor ventilation after the installation of airflow channel in residential public transportation. The results show that the horizontal airflow channel can improve the indoor air environment and effectively reduce the dissatisfaction rate of indoor thermal comfort and indoor air age.

During the heating season, a questionnaire survey was conducted among the test-occupancy staff of a newly built dormitory in a university in Shenyang, Liaoning Province, and the indoor air environment parameters of four dormitories were continuously monitored for 24h. The results show that the test residents have low satisfaction with the indoor air environment. The measured results show that the temperature of the four dormitories with high indoor air temperature ranges from 25.8 ℃ to 29.3℃, indoor air humidity meets the standard requirements, indoor CO2 and PM2.5 concentrations exceed the standard seriously, and HCHO and TVOC concentrations exceed the standard for a small amount of time.

The coronavirus (COVID-19) has several mutations since its initial outbreak. These mutations involve changes in its genetic material, particularly in the spike protein that enables the virus to enter human. These mutations have resulted in different variants of the virus, such as the Alpha, Beta, Gamma, and Delta variants, which have been identified in different regions. These allosomes already led to increased transmissibility, potentially higher viral loads, and in some cases, to certain treatments or vaccines. In this article, the relationship between the evolution of the novel coronavirus and its spread in the population environment in recent years is analysed in detail,with following parts. Firstly,the immune escape which deeply influenced the mutation in virus is discussed. The immune system can recognize the virus and avoid it from entering the body.As a result ,one of the reasons the novel coronavirus evolved was to evade the immune response.Secondly,the mutation is discussed in terms of viral structure. And in the last subtopic,the connection between coronaviruses and their host is described.The phenomenon which is called cross -transmission greatly increased the spread out of virus,by viruses moving from host to host.Through sorting out the existing knowledge and research, this paper clearly analyzes the causes and influencing factors of virus evolution from a multi-dimensional perspective.

BackgroundIn molten salt reactor, the concentration of oxygen impurities in the molten salt should be strictly controlled to avoid the potential safety risks caused by the reaction of O2- in the carrier salt with UF4 fuel to generated UO2 precipitation.PurposeThis study aims to investigate the evaporation behavior of the main oxygen-containing impuritiy ions in carrier salt at high temperature and low pressure and the influence of process parameters such as temperature, pressure and initial oxygen content of molten salt on the removal of O2- in carrier salt.MethodsThe vacuum distillation method was employed and a vacuum distillation device were used to carried out experimental study of the separation behavior of the main oxygen-containing impurities NO3-, SO42-, PO43- and O2- in the carrier salt during vacuum distillation. The removal mechanism of the above ions was explored, and the specific influence of process conditions on the separation effect of O2- distillation was investigated.ResultsThe results show that the removal ability of oxygen-containing impurities by vacuum distillation is NO3-＞PO43-＞SO42-＞O2-. The removal capacity of O2- increases with the increase of temperature, and the recovered salt with a total oxygen content about 2.40×10-4 g·g-1 salt is obtained at 1 050 ℃. The phenomenon of oxygen with a total oxygen content about 2.50×10-4 g·g-1 salt is observed when the pressure is higher than 40 Pa. The oxygen entrainment is increased during the evaporation of molten salt with the decrease of pressure, and the recovered salt content in the recovered salt continued to decrease with the decrease of the initial content of O2- in the carrier salt, which confirmed the technical feasibility of melting salt multiple distillation to remove oxygen.ConclusionsIt is verified by study shows that vacuum distillation can remove oxygen-containing impurities from carrier salt effectively and achieve the rapid and efficient purification of the carrier salt.

This article is a summary of the newly published book New Developments of Ecological Discourse Analysis. On the premise of reviewing the overall development of ecolinguistics, this book firstly develops the Hallidayan approach and defines Ecological Discourse Analysis as an independent paradigm. Based on the guiding principle of the ecosophy, “Diversity and Harmony, Interaction and Co-existence”, it then expands and extends the experiential, interpersonal, textual, and logical metafunctions within the framework of Systemic Functional Linguistics. Consequently, it constructs the theoretical systems of Ecological Discourse Analysis from the perspective of ecolinguistics: the transitivity system, mood system, appraisal system, Theme system, cohesion and coherence system, and logical system. This book presents readers with a comprehensive and applicable theoretical framework for Ecological Discourse Analysis, that is, “ecological grammar”.

Smart grid has emerged as a successful application of cyber-physical systems in the electric power system. Among numerous key technologies of the smart grid, blockchain technology provides a promising solution to reduce the level of demand-side management by ensuring fair competition among all participating entities. However, it brings problems that it is difficult to balance decentralization and platform performance in the controllable scenario in the smart grid. In this paper, we propose a fair and efficient main/side chain framework by exploring the scalability of blockchain, integrating the operation of power entities, and building the decision-making model. First, we develop a main/side blockchain-based electric trading mechanism for controllable load. Then, we consider the operation and maintenance cost of power entities, and propose two decision-making model functions including controllable load and load agents. The optimization problem falls into the category of difference of convex programming and is solved by using the multi-objective evolutionary algorithm. Next, we propose the framework that the transaction process and power flow calculation process are deployed on the main chain and side chain respectively, which ensures the efficiency of the main chain. Finally, the performance of the proposed structure is validated via numerical results and theoretical analysis.

Analyzing the opening and closing states of eyes and mouths by detecting the driver’s face feature points is an effective method for judging driver fatigue. However, in practical engineering applications, with the expansion of user groups, the false identification problem caused by the differentiation of individual facial features of drivers is prominent, especially for people with small eyes. To solve this problem, this paper uses the Mediapipe Facemesh module to detect face feature points and designs a perception-free calibration method for setting personalized eye opening and closing threshold combined with head postures. Compared with the traditional method of setting a fixed threshold, the precision of eye state recognition is improved by 36.4%. Finally, the model deployment and post-processing compilation are completed on the Xavier vehicle chip, achieving a running speed of 34 frames per second at most, and the subjective evaluation experience of the fatigue monitoring system is significantly improved.

This study adopts an ecolinguistic approach to analyze logical resources in the news reports about the Sino-US trade war collected from the two sources, The Times of Britain and Sputnik News Agency of Russia. By observing the logical system for ecological discourse analysis, the study throws light on the ecological properties and values of the mainstream media between the two stakeholders. The discursive research finds that overall, the Russian news reports appeal for a free trade system, while they talk down the trade truce, and the British news reports, although opposed to protectionism, call for unity with the UK’s ally to avoid tariff risk and earn effortless profits. Hence, the ecological properties of the Russian and British media are complex and mixed. Regarding ecological variance, the two media more or less underwent an ecological shift with the dynamic process of the trade war.

Hedgehog (Hh) signalling plays essential roles in regulating embryonic development and contributes to tumour initiation, growth and progression in multiple cancers. The detailed mechanism by which Hh signalling participates in tumour growth warrants thorough study, although several downstream target genes have been identified. Herein, a set of novel targets of Hh signalling was identified in multiple types of tumour cells via RNA-Seq analysis. Among these targets, the expression regulation and oncogenic function of the extracellular matrix component biglycan (BGN) were investigated. Further investigation verified that Hh signalling activates the expression of BGN via the transcription factor Gli2, which directly binds to the promoter region of BGN. Functional assays revealed that BGN facilitates tumour cell growth and proliferation in colorectal cancer (CRC) cells, and xenograft assays confirmed that BGN also promotes tumour growth in vivo. Moreover, analysis of clinical CRC samples showed that both the protein and mRNA levels of BGN are increased in CRC tissues compared to those in adjacent tissues, and higher expression of BGN is correlated with poorer prognosis of CRC patients, further confirming the function of BGN in CRC. Taken together, aberrantly activated Hh signalling increases the expression of BGN, possibly regulates the extracellular matrix, and thereby promotes tumour growth in CRC.

Abstract It has been demonstrated that circ_0001874 and circ_0001971 are potential biomarkers for the diagnosis of oral squamous carcinoma (OSCC). MiR-186 was reported to serve as a tumor suppressor in OSCC, and the down-regulation of miR-186 was reported to lead to higher expression of oncogenic factor SHP2 and the activation of growth promoting signaling. In this study, we aimed to explore the possible molecular role of circ_0001874 and circ_0001971 signaling in the pathogenesis of OSCC. RT-qPCR, Western blot, online bioinformatics tools and luciferase assay were utilized to study the molecular signaling pathways of circ_0001874 and circ_0001971. MTT assay and FCM assay were performed to investigate the synergistic effect of circ_0001971 and circ_0001874 on cell proliferation and apoptosis. By observing the effect of different miRNAs on the levels of circ_0001847 and circ_0001971, it was identified that circ_0001847 and circ_0001971 respectively sponged the expression of miR-296 and miR-186 via binding to these miRNAs. Also, SHP2 mRNA and PLK1 mRNA were respectively targeted by miR-186 and miR-296-5p. We also established two signaling pathways, i.e., circ_0001971/miR-186/SHP2 and circ_0001874/miR-296-5p/PLK1, and validated the synergistic effect of circ_0001971 and circ_0001874 via observing their positive effect on cell proliferation and negative effect on cell apoptosis. The expression of miR-186 and miR-296-5p was generally lower in saliva of OSCC patients compared with that in OLK patients, while the expression of miR-186 and miR-296-5p was specifically up-regulated in saliva of OSCC patients. In conclusion, the finding of this study demonstrated that the relative level of hsa_circ_0001971 and hsa_circ_0001874 were different in the saliva of OSCC patients and could be used as predictive biomarkers for the development of OSCC. Furthermore, oncogenic effects of hsa_circ_0001971 and hsa_circ_0001874 in the development of OSCC might be, at least partially, mediated by its downstream signaling pathways including hsa_circ_0001971/microRNA-186/SHP2 and hsa_circ_0001874/microRNA-297/PLK1.

Air has the advantage of abundance and easy availability, so it is suitable to be used as a synthetic raw material and energy source. However, the triggering of inert small molecules in the air, like O2, N2, and CO2, is a kinetically complex and energetically challenging multistep reaction. Photocatalysis brings hope for this challenge, but obstacles remain in many aspects. Here, aiming at the key difficulties of the photocatalytic activation and conversion of these three inert small molecules, i.e., regulating electronic structure, active sites, charge carrier separation and mobility, and reaction energy barrier, we propose the concept of functional customization strategy of ultrathin two-dimensional materials for achieving more efficient activation and better performance, including thickness control, vacancy engineering, doping operation, single-atom site fabrication, and composite construction. The in-depth understanding of the functional customization will provide more profound guidance for designing photocatalysts that specialize in activating and converting inert small molecules.
