IntroductionDue to the problems of greenhouse gas emissions, noise pollution, and vegetable waste pollution during the transportation of vegetables, it is not conducive to the sustainable development of the environment. To mitigate the pollution of the environment during transportation, vegetable green logistics plays a pivotal role in promoting both environmental sustainability and high-quality economic development. Therefore, it is crucial to evaluate the development of vegetable green logistics.MethodsThis research builds a DEMATEL-ANP-FCE model to scientifically assess the development of vegetable green logistics in Lanling County. In the first place, the model uses DEMATEL to verify the relationship and degree of influence between the primary indexes. In the second place, the ANP approach with Super Decisions software to determine the weights of the indexes at each level. Lastly, evaluating and scoring vegetable green logistics in Lanling County based on FCE.Results and discussionThe results of the study show that there is an interaction relationship between the primary evaluation indexes, and its evaluation score is low, the vegetable logistics in Lanling County has not reached the degree of greening. Accordingly, the evaluation results obtained by the DEMATEL-ANP-FCE model in this work are in line with the actual situation of vegetable green logistics in Lanling County, which verifies that the model has good applicability. Moreover, managerial contributions for promoting the development of vegetable green logistics in Lanling County are put forward in response to the evaluation situation. Expecting to enhance the greening level of vegetable logistical development and advance agricultural sustainability. Finally, all four questions raised in this paper are well addressed. This study also provides a new perspective and evaluation model for future related research.

The expansion of science communication underscores the increasing importance of understanding what constitutes good science communication. This question concerns the public’s understanding and engagement with science. The scholarly discussion has shifted from the traditional deficit model to a more dialog-oriented approach yet remains normatively anchored. There is a pivotal lack of attention to the audience’s perspective regarding the question of what good science communication is. Moreover, different formats of science communication have hardly been researched thus far. Therefore, this paper introduces a multi-dimensional scale to capture the audience’s assessment of specific science communication formats. We utilized a multi-step process to identify relevant criteria from both theoretical and practical perspectives. The instrument integrates 15 distinct quality dimensions, such as comprehensibility, credibility, fun, and applicability, structured according to different quality levels (functional, normative, user-, and communication-oriented). It considered theory-driven and practice-experienced categories and was validated through confirmatory factor analyses conducted on a German representative sample (n = 990). For validation, the scale was applied to a science blog post and a science video on homeopathy. After employing a seven-step process, we conclude that the newly devised scale effectively assesses the perceived quality of both blog and video science communication content. The overall assessment aligns with common target variables, such as interest and attitudes. The results regarding the different quality subdimensions provide a nuanced understanding of their contribution to the perceived overall quality. In this way, the scale aids in enhancing science communication in accordance with audience perceptions of quality. This marks the inaugural introduction of a comprehensive measurement instrument tailored to gauge quality from the audience’s standpoint, rendering it applicable for utilization by both researchers and practitioners.

BackgroundThere is wide acknowledgement in the literature that social connection is protective against loneliness and depression. More robust research, however, is needed to evaluate interventions that promote social connection. This protocol paper outlines the evaluation of a community-wide social connection program, Connect Local, in metropolitan Melbourne, Australia to support people 65 years and older to increase access to local community services/activities; and to ascertain impact on social connection, loneliness, depressive symptoms, physical and mental wellbeing, and use of health services.MethodsA Type 1 Hybrid design, including program effectiveness, cost-effectiveness, and implementation evaluation of the Connect Local program, will be undertaken. Eighty-eight participants aged ≥65 years with one or more chronic health condition, who are also either experiencing or at risk of loneliness, social isolation and depressive symptoms will be invited to participate in the evaluation. Outcomes, measured at baseline, 3, 6 and 12 months, include loneliness, social isolation, depressive symptoms, social anxiety, goal attainment, wellbeing, quality of life and health care utilisation. A gender and age matched comparator group of 88 individuals will be recruited from outside the intervention local government area. Impact of the intervention on community service providers in the target region will be evaluated using mixed methods, where triangulation will be used to combine the qualitative and quantitative data using a deductive-simultaneous design. Changes in wellbeing and quality of life of community volunteers will also be measured. All groups will be interviewed to ascertain their experience and perceptions of the program. The economic evaluation will use a Social Return on Investment (SROI) approach, to include outcomes at the individual, community, and system levels. Post intensive care syndrome (PICS) is a typical complication of critically ill patients during or after their stay in intensive care unit (ICU), characterized by a high incidence and impairment rate. It significantly impacts the quality of life of patients and their families, as well as consumes a substantial amount of medical resources. Therefore, early intervention and assessment of PICS is crucial. This paper aims to provide clinical professionals with a reference base by focusing on the clinical symptoms, diagnostic assessment, and preventative measures of PICS.

What are the effects of cycling infrastructure? This question is crucial as cities begin to give more space to cycling. In this paper, we propose to use the theoretical concept of affordance to consider not only what a cycle lane affords (or enables), but also how it does this and for whom. This has led us to consider three dimensions: (1) the number of cyclists using a route, (2) their characteristics and (3) their experience of cycling. We adopt an approach that combines counting, observation, and intercept surveys both before and then one year after the installation of a new 1.1 km cycle lane in Fribourg, Switzerland. A large increase in cycling traffic following the introduction of the cycle lane (+20 % on weekdays) reveals a latent demand that has been triggered by an improvement in cycling infrastructure. While the characteristics of cyclists (age, gender, etc.) did not fundamentally change, there was a clear improvement in the experience of cycling, particularly in terms of feeling safe. This effect is important, as developing cycling is not only about attracting new users but also reinforcing potentially fragile existing practices. Nonetheless, for a minority of users, the new infrastructure still does not meet safety expectations, and the lack of cycling amenities in the rest of the town limits the expansion of cycling. The approach we have designed could be replicated in other contexts by researchers, advocates, or professionals in order to obtain comparative data on cycling infrastructure.

Background: Cervical cancer remains a significant global health concern, with well-established risk factors. Population-based electronic surveillance tools offer a promising avenue for identifying risk factors associated with cervical cancer development way before it becomes an actual concern for a woman. The objective of this study is to understand and to support the app- based decision-making tool for identifying risk factors of cervical cancer for the women between 30-60 years of age. Method: The study will be conducted in the selected Sampoorna Non-Communicable Diseases (NCD) clinics at Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh (UP). A rigorous review of database was conducted to summarize the evidence on informatics available for early identification of cervical cancer app. An app-based decision- making tool will be developed to identify and detect the high- risk population developing cervical cancer. The app then will be shared with health workers at Sampoorna clinics and will be capacitated for using it to collect real time data. Conclusion: The utilization of a population-based electronic surveillance tool will facilitate the identification of various risk factors contributing to cervical cancer development. The methodology process will help to comprehend the analysis providing the insights. This approach has the potential to enhance targeted interventions, public health policies, and personalized screening programs to mitigate the burden of cervical cancer. The objective of this paper is to understand and to support the design of dashboards for creating transparency and accountability.

The Upper Paleozoic coal-measure strata in the Western Henan has good unconventional oil and gas exploration prospects. However, there is a lack of systematic evaluation of potential source rocks. Aiming at the fully exposed the coring boreholes in the Upper Paleozoic in the Western Henan (Luoyang Basin), this paper systematically collects and analyzes samples. Considering the sedimentary environmental conditions, this paper evaluates the Upper Paleozoic source rocks in the Western Henan. The results show that the source rocks include mudstone, carbonate rocks, and coal rocks; Vertically, the source rocks are continuously distributed in the lower layer below the Dazhan sandstone of Shanxi Formation, and only locally developed above Dazhan sandstone; The organic matter type of coal and mudstone is type III, and the kerogen type of carbonate rocks is also type III, which is different from the organic matter type of general carbonate rocks (type I), which is related to the sedimentary environment. The average value of vitrinite reflectance is more than 4.27% and the average value of maximum pyrolysis temperature is more than 430 °C. The thermal evolution degree of source rocks reached the mature to over-mature stage, which tends to gradually increase with the increase of depth, which may be related to Meso–Cenozoic tectonothermal events.

The objective of this paper is two-fold. First, it addresses the privileging of writing over speech in the undergraduate, postgraduate and research programmes in English in select central universities of India. The shortlisting criteria for Assistant Professors also show an emphasis on writing. The paper proposes that academic writing courses should address the lack of exposure to the spoken word. Secondly, the paper suggests that a course on academic writing should include ‘translation’ of contemporary literary texts in India as a necessary component in the curriculum. Along with training students in the art of translation, such a course can provide a platform for publication of the translated texts during the course duration itself. Through such projects, this course would not only contribute to the corpus of Indian texts available in English, but will also harvest skilled writers/translators who can draw upon Indian texts as themes for their academic writing.

Background: In this paper we propose to analyze ways to introduce multimedia methods in the evaluation process in the discipline of physical education and sports, by increasing the objectivity of evaluation and self-evaluation. Material and Methods: During the research, 20 students aged 12–13 were filmed and evaluated. Movement analysis software, Kinovea application, version 0.8.15, was used to analyze the recorded image. Results: Through the centralized data represented in graphs and tables, at the first evaluation, the control group obtained results closer to the execution model by an average of 0.62% in 5 of the 6 samples. Following the application of the method researched in the paper, namely the viewing of the records from the first evaluation with biomechanically analyzed frames, the relationship between the two groups changes. At the final evaluation, the research group obtains results closer to the execution model in all 6 samples, on average by -4.61%. Conclusions: The results obtained after applying the statistical parameters (mean) of video recording and analysis reveal a progress in the technical preparation of students, the mistakes being detected more easily and more concretely, the students forming a clear image of their own execution and mistakes.

[Purpose/Significance] The construction of librarians' ability constitutes an important part of the transformation towards smart university libraries, and the evaluation of librarians' service ability can provide the basis for university libraries to carry out professional training for librarians. [Method/Process] This paper establishes an evaluation index system by combing the constituent elements of librarians' ability in the smart library environment. At the same time, the paper combines the analytic hierarchy process (AHP) and TOPSIS to put forward the evaluation model, and proves its effectiveness through empirical research. [Results/Conclusions] This paper will provide theoretical support for the smart librarian evaluation activities of university libraries in China.

As Artificial Intelligence (AI) is becoming part of our daily lives, the need to understand and trust its decisions is becoming a pressing issue. EXplainable AI (XAI) aims at answering this demand, providing tools to get insights into the models’ behaviour and reasoning. Following this trend, our research paper explores the explainability of a deployed multimodal architecture applied to a real-world dataset of multivariate time series. The study aims to enhance the trustworthiness of an AI agent responsible for crash detection in an insurance company’s automatic assistance service. By introducing an XAI layer, we provide insights into the AI agent’s decision-making process, enabling the optimization of emergency medical services allocation. The dataset consists of real-world telematics data collected from vehicles equipped with black box technology. The challenge lies in explaining the complex interactions within the multivariate time series data to accurately understand the forces applied to vehicles during accidents. To this end, we adapt to this context two state-of-the-art XAI model-specific approaches, originally designed for images. We offer a qualitative and a quantitative evaluation, also comparing with a well-known agnostic method, and further validating our findings on an external dataset. The results show that Integrated Gradients, among the methodologies examined, is the most effective approach. Its ability to handle the complexity of the data provides the most comprehensive and insightful explanations for the considered use case. The findings emphasize the potential of XAI to enhance the trustworthiness of AI systems and optimize emergency response in the insurance industry. Abstract Background Over 180,000 people use crack cocaine in England, yet provision of smoking equipment to support safer crack use is prohibited under UK law. Pipes used for crack cocaine smoking are often homemade and/or in short supply, leading to pipe sharing and injuries from use of unsafe materials. This increases risk of viral infection and respiratory harm among a marginalised underserved population. International evaluations suggest crack pipe supply leads to sustained reductions in pipe sharing and use of homemade equipment; increased health risk awareness; improved service access; reduction in injecting and crack-related health problems. In this paper, we introduce the protocol for the NIHR-funded SIPP (Safe inhalation pipe provision) project and discuss implications for impact. Methods The SIPP study will develop, implement and evaluate a crack smoking equipment and training intervention to be distributed through peer networks and specialist drug services in England. Study components comprise: (1) peer-network capacity building and co-production; (2) a pre- and post-intervention survey at intervention and non-equivalent control sites; (3) a mixed-method process evaluation; and (4) an economic evaluation. Participant eligibility criteria are use of crack within the past 28 days, with a survey sample of ~ 740 for each impact evaluation survey point and ~ 40 for qualitative process evaluation interviews. Our primary outcome measure is pipe sharing within the past 28 days, with secondary outcomes pertaining to use of homemade pipes, service engagement, injecting practice and acute health harms. Anticipated impact SIPP aims to reduce crack use risk practices and associated health harms; including through increasing crack harm reduction awareness among service providers and peers. Implementation has only been possible with local police approvals. Our goal is to generate an evidence base to inform review of the legislation prohibiting crack pipe supply in the UK. This holds potential to transform harm reduction service provision and engagement nationally. Conclusion People who smoke crack cocaine in England currently have little reason to engage with harm reduction and drug services. Little is known about this growing population. Flying Ad Hoc Networks (FANET) is an emerging area of research due to its low cost, high coverage and fast transmission features. In these networks, the flying nodes are connected with ground stations and communicate wirelessly, especially when the networks are congested and complex. Due to mobility, and lack of predefined infrastructure, these networks have suffered from various security and trust issues. The traditional trust and security solutions are designed for ground networks and are not feasible for these networks. This paper proposes a trust and authentication model including Trust Establishment Mechanism for FANET (TEM-FANET) and authentication system by using Block-chain method. The trust is calculated to evaluate the node’s trust status and ensure the existence of the trustworthy nodes by using direct, indirect, and cumulative trust values. Whereas the authentication system is utilizing blockchain technology for nodes authentication and evaluate its feasibility. The proposed model is lightweight and able to monitor the node’s behavior and compute the trusted quality and broadcast the node status with neighbor nodes. The proposed model is also integrated with ground stations for record keeping and decision-making processes. The proposed model is evaluated in simulation with state-of-the-art trust solutions where the results show the better performance in terms of overhead, data delivery, node detection rate, and computational time.

The paper validates a framework which is based on EFQM and associates quality criteria to results and outputs, reflecting the organization readiness and efficiency. The paper studies the views of school principals of Kindergarten and Elementary Schools in Greece. A nationwide survey provides a representative sample of 231 school principals who were administered an online questionnaire. The questionnaire was constructed by applying the EFQM framework as the basic pattern. Based on previous approaches which use PLS models in the education context, the paper provides findings on how key criteria of EFQM associate to each other when applied to the elementary education context in Greece. Findings provide evidence that EFQM criteria are indeed associated both directly and indirectly. The validation of the proposed model supports that the particular instrument can be used as a tool for continually assess, measure and improve the management procedures of elementary education organizations in order to have improved measures of key results criteria.

The Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) radio occultation (RO) significantly impacts climate change monitoring. GNSS RO is based mainly on the refraction of the GNSS signals transmitted by satellites and received by a receiver on a Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite. Sentinel-6 (S6) is the first satellite from the Sentinel missions to retrieve atmospheric parameters using the RO technique. Temperature, pressure, and water vapor profiles can be retrieved using S6 based on the refraction of GNSS signals. This research evaluated the distribution and coverage of GNSS RO data from S6. This research also aims to evaluate the results of GNSS RO products, especially temperature from S6, from January 2022 to June 2022. The results of S6 are compared with the results from the Meteorological Operational Polar Satellite series (MetOp-B and MetOp-C) and the European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts (ECMWF) Reanalysis v5 (ERA5) dataset. Our results indicate that S6 allows for many RO observations in space by receiving signals from the Global Positioning System (GPS) and Russia's Global Navigation Satellite System (GLONASS). S6 provides monthly RO profiles from GPS that are greater than monthly RO profiles from GLONASS. Results show that S6 provides more GNSS RO data than MetOp-B and MetOp-C. The findings indicate that the distribution of GNSS RO events from S6 over the globe is uniform in longitude and non-uniform at latitude, with the minimum number at the poles. This paper makes a significant contribution to exploring the atmosphere with the S6 as a promising satellite for weather forecasting and monitoring climate change.

Objective(s): The "pre-marriage education program" is one of the strategies to strengthen the family foundation in Iran. The present study was carried out with the support of the Iran Ministry of Health and Medical Education to evaluate this program. This paper presents the results obtained on knowledge and satisfaction of couples. Methods: This was an interventional study on a sample of couples participating in a pre-marriage education program. The intervention was offered via in-person and virtual (online and offline) aproaches. Ninety-six centers of pre-marriage education through country were selected by simple random sampling. A convince sample of 15 couples (15 men and 15 women) was thought for each center. Data was collected by two questionnaires and analyzed using the SPSS-18 software. Results: A total of 2868 people were entered into the study. Pre-marriage education led to an increase in knowledge. ABSTRACTAlthough the surface energy budget is essential to determine Earth’s climate, site measurements of various radiative components are still too scarce to properly characterize their spatial and temporal variations. This has led to the development of a growing number of surface radiation products, mainly including remotely sensed data, model reanalysis data, and simulations using General Circulation Models (GCMs). This collection of papers introduces new techniques, including the use of machine learning methods for radiation estimation, and evaluates and compares various radiation products, as well as their spatio-temporal variations. These studies show large discrepancies among various products across nearly all radiative parameters in either accuracy or spatio-temporal variations. However, remotely sensed radiation products perform relatively better than others. Despite this, there is an urgent need for further efforts to address these discrepancies and improve the accuracy of these estimates. Even though the major radiative parameters including downward shortwave radiation, net longwave radiation, and albedo, from most products show insignificant long-term variation trends on a global scale, only specific regions, such as the Yunnan-Kweichow Plateau (YKP) and regions with permafrost (i.e. Qinghai-Tibet Plateau and Arctic) and glaciers (i.e. Altai Mountains) exhibit remarkable trends.

This paper explores the current state of the social impact measurement (SIM) field to better understand common practices in measuring the post-intervention social impact of a program or project and to identify strategies to improve measurement in practice. This study employed a systematic literature review. Articles were manually coded deductively and inductively in NVivo to complete a descriptive and thematic analysis of the literature. The thematic analysis provided an in-depth understanding of the SIM field. We found that similarities existed across the definitions of social impact (e.g., environmental impact is part of social impact). Additionally, social return on investment (SROI) is the most common measurement model and theory of change was identified as a core concept across SIM literature. Strategies are presented for practitioners to consider when measuring social impact, including: (i) engage stakeholders throughout the process, (ii) mobilize existing operational data, (iii) increase measurement capacity, and (iv) use both qualitative and quantitative data. This study reveals the nuances of SIM based on academic literature published across the globe over the span of a decade. It places emphasis on the post-intervention stage and identifies strategies to improve the application of measurement models in practice. Lastly, it outlines future research directions.

In this paper, we present a survey that took place in January 2023, with 68 participants, of which 62 were women and 6 were men, who in 2022 attended educational and practical workshops on the topic of developing positive parenting. The name of the workshop was “Families in the Centrifuge of Modern Times,” and it was organized by the University of Adult Education Celje. The aim was to find out which parents attended the workshops, where they learned about them, what are the reasons for their participation and what is their opinion on the usefulness of and satisfaction with the workshops. The results of the survey showed that the participants are mostly women in the age group of 41–50 years; they are mostly university-educated, married, and mostly found out about the workshops online or through social networks. All participants thought that the workshops were useful and that they gained new knowledge. They believed that the professional content was presented understandably and that the workshops improved their lives in general.

The present paper highlights the role played by the analysis of the physical-geographic framework available to a community, at a given time, in the strategic territorial planning process. Unlike the evaluation of the community profile, which is based on a set of elements that change over time - population, economy, politics -, the evaluation of the resources associated with the natural environment enjoys their great stability. Methodologically, in the elaboration of the development strategy, the assessment of the natural environment, respectively the potential represented by it, is the starting point. Any Local Development Strategy of an aministraive territorial unit, in the present case the Cudalbi commune in Galati county, is based on the identification of all components that act both as favoring and limiting factors. The diagnosis carried out by the specialists is based on qualitative and quantitative methods of information collection, and the list of monitored indicators corresponds to the geographical studies.

The aim of this paper is to present theoretical aspects of the study of biomechanics in athletics, which is essential for performance optimization, injury prevention, and improvement of athletes' capabilities. This study contains various research directions in athlete biomechanics as well as biodynamic modeling and simulation in athletics. Finally, aspects of athlete training design and optimization are presented, which are essential for tailoring training programs to the individual needs and goals of athletes.

More and more connected and autonomous vehicle (CAV) open test roads reconstructed on the basis of traditional roads have appeared in China. However, the management policies vary, which makes the traffic environment complicated. This paper takes CAV test road safety management as the research aim and investigates the open test condition through the evaluation of the traffic safety facilities. Indicators were rigorously screened, then the game theory model was used to determine the combination weight of the indicators, and the set pair analysis was applied to solve the uncertain problems. A case study for the CAV test road network of a city in central China was implemented and the results show, regarding the traffic safety facilities’ condition, among the 20 sections of the city’s CAV test road network, 15% of which are at an excellent level, 75% of which are at a good level and 10% of which are at a moderate level; road signs, guardrail facilities, isolation facilities and road features are the main limiting factors affecting the level of traffic safety facilities. Based on the results, recommendations have been made for the transport management authorities in the aspects of safety management policy-making and facilities maintenance.

Different approaches analyze the strength of a natural language argument in different ways. This paper contrasts the dialectical, structural, probabilistic (or Bayesian), computational, and empirical approaches by exemplarily applying them to a single argumentative text (Epicureans on Squandering Life; Aikin & Talisse, 2019). Rather than pitching these approaches against one another, our main goal is to show the room for fruitful interaction. Our focus is on a dialectical analysis of the squandering argument as an argumentative response that voids an interlocutor’s right to assertion. This analysis addresses the pragmatic dimensions of arguing and implies an argument structure that is consistent with empirical evidence of perceived argument strength. Results show that the squandering argument can be evaluated as a (non-fallacious) ad hominem argument, which however is not necessarily stronger than possible arguments attacking it.

The analysis of the development of motor qualities by applying specific means of athletics in natural conditions is an important approach in the field of physical education and sports. Hypothesis of the work: it is assumed that the use of athletics-specific means in natural environments could have a positive impact on the development of students’ motor skills, thus contributing to the improvement of their athletic performance. The aim of the paper is to investigate and evaluate the development of motor qualities, such as speed and strength, in secondary school students, using methods and means specific to athletics. Study objectives: To assess how the application of athletics-specific means in natural environments influences the development of students’ motor skills; Evaluation of the improvement of the speed and strength level of students following the application of these means; Comparison between the progress made by students involved in this type of lessons and those who followed traditional means in terms of improving speed and strength. Thus, the numerical data support the conclusion that the Experiment Group had significant and consistent improvements in physical performance compared to the Control Group in most tests. The integration of varied terrains and natural conditions into physical education lessons allows students to adapt to different environments, thus developing increased adaptability and resilience.

Transport efficiency cannot be imagined outside of strategic management – an aspect to which universities, part of the „triple helix” model, pay close attention. As the complexity of public organizations has increased and mobility has become a key issue for their efficiency, several universities in Romania have developed their own fleets to meet the needs of moving people or delivering goods. Based on data collected through a series of interviews, this article proposes a comparative analysis of some aspects of the strategic management of the car fleets of the Babeș-Bolyai University, the West University of Timișoara and the Technical University of Cluj-Napoca. The results indicate that the fleets tend to be more efficient the newer the vehicles are, i.e. not older than 10 years. The paper also underlines the fact that fleet efficiency can only be achieved through a regular analysis of the factors that generate additional costs and their elimination as part of a broader strategic management strategy.

IntroductionThis study evaluates and ranks the scientific journals of psychology using the Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) model. Data envelopment analysis (DEA) is a linear programming-based technique for measuring the relative performance of organizational units where the presence of multiple inputs and outputs makes comparison difficult. DEA was originally developed to measure the efficiency of a Decision Making Units (DMU) as a whole unit, without considering its internal structure. In other words, the system is treated as a black box, within which inputs are supplied to produce outputs, with there generally being a positive correlation between the two.Traditional DEA models are only able to evaluate DMUs with deterministic inputs and outputs, while in real-world problems, data are usually uncertain. So far, various approaches have been introduced to overcome the uncertainty of data. In this paper, two robust DEA models are presented to evaluate the performance of systems with continuous uncertain data under constant return to scale (CRS) and variable return to scale (VRS) conditions. The main advantage of the proposed robust DEA models over the previous robust DEA models is that they are able to formulate uncertainty in both input and output data. A study by Rosenthal and Weiss (2017) ranks business journals, using data from the Thomson Reuters Journal Citation Reports® (JCR). They ranked 358 business journals from five different JCR categories according to such citation-based factors as the number of articles, the number of citations, impact factor, five-year impact factor, immediacy index, eigenfactor score, and article influence score. They compute the relative efficiencies of the journals and thereby create plausible journal rankings that largely, but not completely, corroborate three widely used business publication journal ranking lists. In addition, we show how the different characteristics of the JCR data impact the DEA ranking model. Finally, they identify journals that are not on the business publication lists but consistently perform very well relative to those benchmark journals, and should possibly be included in the business publication ranking lists. Abstract Background A robust evidence base is required to assist healthcare commissioners and providers in selecting effective and sustainable approaches to improve cancer diagnosis and treatment. Such evidence can be difficult to build, given the fast-paced and highly pressured nature of healthcare delivery, the absence of incentives, and the presence of barriers in conducting pragmatic yet robust research evaluations. Cancer Research UK (CRUK) has played an active part in building the evidence base through its funding of programmes to identify, evaluate and scale-up innovative approaches across the UK. The aim of this paper is to describe and explain the research design and intended approach and activities for two cancer services improvement projects in Scotland funded by CRUK. Methods A hybrid effectiveness-implementation study design will assess both the efficiency of the new pathways and their implementation strategies, with the aim of generating knowledge for scale-up. A range of implementation, service and clinical outcomes will be assessed as determined by the projects’ Theories of Change (ToCs). A naturalistic case study approach will enable in-depth exploration of context and process, and the collection and synthesis of data from multiple sources including routine datasets, patient and staff surveys, in-depth interviews and observational and other data. The evaluations are informed throughout by a patient/public representatives’ group, and by small group discussions with volunteer cancer patients. Discussion Our approach has been designed to provide a holistic understanding of how (well) the improvement projects work (in relation to their anticipated outcomes), and how they interact with their wider contexts. The evaluations will help identify barriers, facilitators, and unanticipated consequences that can impact scalability, sustainability and spread. By opting for a pragmatic, participatory evaluation research design, we hope to inform strategies for scaling up successful innovations while addressing challenges in a targeted manner.

The article deals with the discursive construction of artificial intelligence (AI) in the English-language media discourse. Corpus methods establish semantic, figurative-perceptual and axiological specificity in the media representation of AI in various media segments, such as tabloids and broadsheet papers. Corpus-assisted discourse analysis includes: 1) identification of unique semantic domains that determine discourse interpretations of this socially significant phenomenon, followed by an analysis of their dispersion in narratives about AI; 2) analysis of the figurative-evaluative and value content of its media representation; 3) investigation of the specifics of broadsheet media and tabloid media representations of the AI concept. It was found that AI receives multiple media representations, in which its conceptual features represented by the lexical items of the semantic fields “Knowledge”, “Ability”, “Information and Computer Technologies” are supplemented and enriched by the lexical units of the semantic fields “Safety/Danger”, “Transformation”, “Ethics”. In media narratives about AI, the concept of “imitation of human abilities” is often associated with fake news, plagiarism, warfare, crime, climate change, and unemployment. Corpus data revealed that in the narratives about AI in broadsheet media, the lexical items of the semantic field “Robots” emphasize the similarity of AI with anthropomorphic entities; the semantic field “Competition” represents the idea of a rivalry between a human and a machine, as well as between countries, governments and companies; the semantic field “Warfare” actualizes the pragmatics of warning related to collective security and expressing public concern about the possible negative consequences of the development of AI. Popular media emphasize the androgenic nature of AI, its entertainment potential (“Games”), practical values related to health care (“Medicines and Treatment”); and the pragmatics of warning related to individual safety (“Crime”). The evaluative media representation of AI is formed mainly by ethical and practical, often negative, evaluative features transmitted through metaphoric images, intertextual references, and cultural models that determine the behavioural patterns of the discursive community members.

To supply stable and high-quality power according to the advancement of industrial growth, electric power companies have performed maintenance of power facilities using various methods. In the case of domestic power distribution facilities, there are limitations in performing diagnostic management on all facilities owing to the large number of facilities; therefore, old facilities are managed using the health index assessment method. The health index assessment comprises only facility operation data and external environmental data and is managed only for four types of distribution facilities including overhead/underground transformers and switchgears. In the case of high voltage overhead lines, there are a large number of wires such as transformers and switchgears connected to the lines, and the ripple effect of power outages is large. However, in Korea, there is no overhead line health index standard. In overseas cases, a health index for overhead lines was developed, but only the material characteristics and surrounding environment of the overhead lines were considered and economic feasibility was not considered. Therefore, in this paper, we developed a health index evaluation methodology for ultra-high voltage overhead lines that considers economic feasibility. In this paper, unlike the existing health index evaluation method that uses only operational data and external environmental data to determine facility performance evaluation and aging replacement standards, we developed an economic health index evaluation methodology that additionally considers failure probability and risk costs. Using the health index assessment methodology developed in this paper, it is possible to expect a reduction in facility operating costs and investment costs from the perspective of the electric power companies through the replacement of old extra-high voltage overhead cables. In addition, from the perspective of consumers, it is expected to increase power reliability and reduce the ripple effect of failure by preferentially replacing equipment with a high probability of failure.

The objective of this study was to identify insulin growth factor (IGF-1) gene polymorphism using PCR RFLP technique in order to improve goat meat evaluation. Insulin like growth factor -1 play an important stimulator role in skeletal growth, cell differentiation and metabolism. Also it has an important role in control of hair cycles and it is involved in development of wool fiber. Therefore, it is considered as an appropriate candidate gene for meat quality evaluation. Blood samples were collected from 12 Carpatina kids and DNA was extracted using, Wizard Genomic DNA Purification Kit. Polymorphism of IGF-1 was determined by PCR amplification followed by RFLP method using restriction enzyme Hae III. In the present study heterozygous individuals were identified with genotype BC (25%) and homozygous individuals for the genotype BB (75%). B allele frequency was 0.87 and for allele C was 0.13. Observed and expected values of IGF-1 genotypes were found in Hardy Weinberg equilibrium, after χ2 test was calculated. Further investigation is necessary to be carried out on a high number of animals in order to discover other mutations correlated with meat quality in Carpatina goat.

The evaluation and monitoring the consumers satisfaction is very important because it is a managerial instrument which offers the possibility to understand and satisfy the needs of the existing consumers. In this study we used the questionnaire as research method and after analyzing and processing the data we noticed the consumers preferences related to the meat and meat products consumption, the frequency of consumption and the places from where the consumers procure their meat and meat products.

The objective of this study was to identify Myostatin (MSTN) gene polymorphism using PCR RFLP technique in order to improve sheep meat evaluation. There are data which show that MSTN is an inhibitor of skeletal muscle growth and a mutation in gene leads to increased muscle mass. Therefore, it is considered as an appropriate candidate gene for carcass meat quality. Blood samples were collected from 105 Teleorman Black Head (TBH) lambs and DNA was extracted using, Wizard Genomic DNA Purification Kit. Polymorphism of MSTN was determined by PCR amplification followed by RFLP method using restriction enzyme Hae III. Based on results, two genotypes mm and Mm were identified. It was identified homozygous genotype mm which not carry this mutation with 16.67% and heterozygous genotype Mm with 83.33%. M allele frequency was 42% and for allele m was 58%. Observed and expected values of MSTN genotypes were found in Hardy Weinberg disequilibrium, after χ2 test was calculated. MM individuals who carry this mutation were not identified in the analysed herd. This may be due to an empirical selection of this breed leading to absence of this genotype. That is why further investigation on a high number of animals are necessary to discover this mutation correlated with meat quality in TBH sheep.

In order to reduce the weight of optical elements in space remote sensors while increasing their stiffness, this paper takes an off-axis system secondary mirror as an example to design a square mirror with a size of 500 mm × 500 mm. The mirror adopts ultra-low expansion glass as the raw material. The paper proposed a lightweight form of gradual reinforcement and conducted the mirror assembly simulation analysis. The analysis results show that the weight of the lightweight mirror is 13.6 kg, and the surface density can reach 54.4 kg/m2. Under the circumstances of 1 g gravity and the temperature change of 15 °C~25 °C, the surface shape accuracy of the mirror assembly can reach 1/90λ (λ = 632.8 nm). Through the final testing, the first-order intrinsic frequency of the reflex mirror components is 167.8 Hz. The gap between the test results and the theoretical simulation results is less than 3%, which proves that the mirror assembly in the lightweight form of gradual reinforcement fully meets the index requirements and can provide a theoretical reference for the assembly of a mirror of similar size and type.

Abstract Background Innovative tools are needed to complement the existing approach for malaria elimination. Gene drive mosquitoes are one potential new technology in the control of malaria vectors. Target Malaria is one of the research projects developing this technology, and in July 2019, the project proceeded to an important step for this evaluation pathway: the small-scale release of non-gene drive sterile male mosquitoes in a village in Burkina Faso. In addition to the entomological and laboratory work to prepare for this important milestone, significant community and stakeholder engagement work was done. The existing guidelines on gene drive mosquito provide an overall framework for such engagement work. However, they do not provide a road map on how to proceed or what benchmarks should be used to assess this work. Methods This study provides a review of engagement activities relevant to field trials on non-gene drive genetically-modified mosquitoes as well as an assessment framework—using both qualitative and quantitative studies as well as an audit procedure. The latter was implemented to evaluate whether the release activities could proceed with the appropriate level of agreement from the community. Results This paper shows the importance of this first phase of work to innovate and learn about engagement processes for responsible research in the field of genetic approaches for malaria vector control. The function of these assessments is crucial for the learning agenda. The assessments demonstrated ways to increase understanding and ensure effective progress with field studies and, therefore, the pathway for responsible research. Conclusion Gene drive technology is increasingly considered as a promising approach to control vector borne diseases, in particular malaria. Stakeholders’ involvement in this research process is one of the recurring requirements in international guidance documents. With this paper Target Malaria offers an opportunity to explore the practical achievements and challenges of stakeholder engagement during early phases of a technology evaluation, and in particular how it implemented an assessment framework to learn from its experience.

Abstract Clinical research infrastructure is one of the unsung heroes of the scientific response to the current COVID-19 pandemic. The extensive, long-term funding into research support structures, skilled people, and technology allowed the United Kingdom research response to move off the starting blocks at pace by utilizing pre-existing platforms. The increasing focus from funders on evaluating the outcomes and impact of research infrastructure investment requires both a reframing and progression of the current models in order to address the contribution of the underlying support infrastructure. The majority of current evaluation/outcome models focus on a “pipeline” approach using a methodology which follows the traditional research funding route with the addition of quantitative metrics. These models fail to embrace the complexity caused by the interplay of previous investment, the coalescing of project outputs from different funders, the underlying infrastructure investment, and the parallel development across different parts of the system. Research infrastructure is the underpinning foundation of a project-driven research system and requires long-term, sustained funding and capital investment to maintain scientific and technological expertise. Therefore, the short-term focus on quantitative metrics that are easy to collect and interpret and that can be assessed in a roughly 5-year funding cycle needs to be addressed. The significant level of investment in research infrastructure necessitates investment to develop bespoke methodologies that develop fit-for-purpose, longer-term/continual approach(es) to evaluation. Real-world research should reflect real-world evaluation and allow for the accrual of a narrative of value indicators that build a picture of the contribution of infrastructure to research outcomes. The linear approach is not fit for purpose, the research endeavour is a complex, twisted road, and the evaluation approach needs to embrace this complexity through the development of realist approaches and the rapidly evolving data ecosystem. This paper sets out methodological challenges and considers the need to develop bespoke methodological approaches to allow a richer assessment of impact, contribution, attribution, and evaluation of research infrastructure. This paper is the beginning of a conversation that invites the community to “take up the mantle” and tackle the complexity of real-world research translation and evaluation.

This paper employs the overarching concept of communities to express the social contexts within which human creativity is exercised and learning happens. With the advent of digital technologies, these social contexts, the communities we engage in, change radically. The new landscape brought about by digital technologies is characterized by new qualities, new opportunities for action, new community affordances. The term onlife is adopted from the Onlife Manifesto and used to distinguish the new kind of communities brought about by the modern digital technologies, the onlife communities. Design principles are presented to foster such communities and support their members. These principles constitute a framework that emphasizes the concept of performativity, i.e. knowledge is based on human performance and actions done within certain social contexts, rather than development of conceptual representations. To demonstrate the use of the framework and the corresponding principles, the paper presents how they can be used to analyze, evaluate and reframe a concrete system addressing creativity and learning in the field of cultural heritage (history teaching and learning). One of the most significant results is the adoption of principles that facilitate students’ engagement in rich learning experiences moving from the role of end-user towards the role of expert-user with the support of so called maieuta-designers. The result of this process is the use of the studied software not only to consume ready-made content but the creation of new, student generated content, offering new learning opportunities to the students. As the evaluation shows, these new learning opportunities enable students to develop a deeper understanding of the topics studied.

Information retrieval is an important field that aims to provide a relevant document to a user information need, expressed through a query. Arabic is a challenging language that gained much attention recently in the information retrieval domain. To overcome the problems related to its complexity, many studies and techniques have been presented, most of them were conducted to solve the stemming problem. This paper presents an overview of the Arabic information retrieval process, including various text processing techniques, ranking approaches, evaluation measures, and some important information retrieval models. The paper finally presents some recent related studies and approaches in different Arabic information retrieval fields.

Syphilis is one of the most common sexually transmitted infections (STIs) worldwide and has shown a rising trend in recent years, according to a report published by the World Health Organization (WHO) in 2021. Given this problem, the present study aims to develop a scoping review of what has been done in the world after the publication of the global strategy for the elimination of STIs, with a specific focus on syphilis. Thus, we searched for papers on health policies in response to syphilis in Pubmed, Scopus, ScienceDirect, and EBSCO by CINAHL, as well as in official documents from international health organizations. The period from January 1, 2016, to August 14, 2022 was considered. Our search returned 880 papers addressing “Syphilis,” “Health Policy,” and “Health Policies” combined. Twenty-three papers fulfilled the inclusion and exclusion criteria according to two research questions set out for this scoping review. Our findings suggest that Brazil and Peru presented the greatest adequacy of the strategies provided by WHO in 2016 and the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) in 2017, aiming tothe goals set out in the UN's 2030 Agenda for sustainable development. Among the studies found, six countries (Cuba, Thailand, Belarus, Armenia, Moldova, and Puerto Rico) reported the elimination of mother-to-child transmission (MTCT) of syphilis, but the most recent data are from 2016. Furthermore, it is essential to mention that no country has been found that has presented a comprehensive response to syphilis, noting the control or elimination of the disease in all key populations. Evaluation has emerged as a central concern in natural language processing (NLP) over the last few decades. Evaluation is done against a gold standard, a manually linguistically annotated dataset, which is assumed to provide the ground truth against which the accuracy of the NLP system can be assessed automatically. In this article, some methodological questions in connection with the creation of gold standard datasets are discussed, in particular (non-)expectations of linguistic expertise in annotators and the interannotator agreement measure standardly but unreflectedly used as a kind of quality index of NLP gold standards.

This paper proposes a novel precipitation estimation method based on FY-4B meteorological satellite data (FY-4B_AI). This method facilitates the spatiotemporal matching of 125 features derived from the multi-temporal and multi-channel data of the FY-4B satellite with precipitation data at stations. Subsequently, a precipitation model was constructed using the light gradient boosting machine (LGBM) algorithm. A comparative analysis of FY-4B_AI and GPM/IMERG-L products for over 450 million station cases throughout 2023 revealed the following: (1) The results demonstrate that FY-4B_AI is more accurate than GPM/IMERG-L. Six of the eight evaluation indices exhibit superior performance for FY-4B_AI in comparison to GPM/IMERG-L. These indices include the mean absolute error (MAE), root mean square error (RMSE), relative error (RE), correlation coefficient (CC), probability of detection (POD), and critical success index (CSI). As for the MAE, the results are 1.67 (FY-4B_AI) and 1.92 (GPM/IMERG-L), respectively. The RMSEs are 3.68 and 4.07, respectively. The REs are 17.72% and 26.28%, respectively. The CCs are 0.44 and 0.36, respectively. The PODs are 61.84% and 47.31%, respectively. The CSIs are 0.30 and 0.27, respectively. However, with regard to the mean errors (MEs) and false alarm rates (FARs), FY-4B_AI (−0.88 and 62.85%, respectively) displays a slight degree of inferiority in comparison to GPM/IMERG-L (−0.80 and 62.21%, respectively). (2) An evaluation of two strong weather events to represent the spatial distribution of precipitation in different climatic zones revealed that both FY-4B_AI and GPM/IMERG-L are equally capable of accurately representing these phenomena, irrespective of whether the region in question is humid, as is the case in the southeast, or dry, as is the case in the northwest.

Abstract This paper is concerned with the assessment of future applications of CASE (Co-operative, Autonomous, Shared, and Electric) mobility—a term that is also taken to include the more traditionally known applications of ITS (Intelligent Transport Systems). It sets the objective of making such assessments more holistic and horizontal in nature because future CASE mobility applications will include many technologies and service concepts as an integrated whole serving specific mobility objective. Traditional evaluation methodologies will therefore have to be modified to account for this situation, and to this end, the paper focuses on assessing and adapting such “traditional” methodologies. It draws from the experience gained in Greece in the last decade when a substantial number of ITS applications were implemented and assessed, especially in the second largest urban area of the country, the city of Thessaloniki (part of the EU’s European Network of Living Labs). Four basic methodologies are selected: the use of KPIs (Key Performance Indicators), focused interviews, the CMME (CASE Mobility Matrix Evaluation), and the use of safety audits before and after the CASE mobility application. For the first three, the paper suggests specific indicators and/or content. It also gives an example of the use of CMME based on a use case from Thessaloniki. The contents and recommendations of this paper provide a better understanding of the emerging situation as regards CASE mobility applications and point to the need for establishing a timely and comprehensive CASE mobility evaluation framework at both national and European levels, for future implementations.

Abstract The present paper appraises a standardized test, the entrance exam of Iranian universities, known as “Konkur” that is administered annually as a means of gaining admission to higher education in Iran. This norm-referenced test is administered for students majoring in mathematics, experimental sciences, and humanities whose scores along their weighted GPAs in the last 3 years of high school are used as indicators of students’ rank. Based on the rank achieved, they would find the opportunity to select the highly regarded university for their education. Due to the importance of such a high-stake test which may bring about social and long-time consequences for the participants, the present paper tries to evaluate the test and its psychometrics aspects. It is ostensible that the exam provides a limited situation for measuring the participants “knowledge of language” rather than their “knowledge about language.” Therefore, the dimensionality and validity of the test are debatable. Thus, the present review tries to characterize Konkur examination and discusses the rooms for untouched aspects for the betterment of its quality.

Background The 2018 Phoenix Australia Clinical Practice Guidelines for Post-traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) recommended that practitioners use validated, user-friendly self-report measures for PTSD in their practice. However, selecting which measure to use can be difficult as there are currently no guidelines for selection. This research sought to evaluate self-report outcome measures for adults with PTSD and produce recommendations to guide clinicians. Method A systematic search was use qd to identify relevant articles and a comprehensive list of the existing measures of PTSD symptoms were extracted. A second search for validation papers for these measures was then conducted. Using these validation papers, measures were evaluated for their psychometric properties and utility for clinical practice via a purpose-built evaluation tool. Findings Twenty-two self-report outcome measures for PTSD were extracted from 256 randomised controlled trials. For these measures, 110 validation papers were located. For nonspecific trauma exposure populations, the PCL-5 and SPRINT were found to be the most psychometrically valid measures, with the highest scoring clinical utility. The measures for 12 specific trauma exposure populations were examined and discussed. Conclusion This paper has direct clinical relevance for working with individuals with PTSD and provides researchers and clinicians with justification for outcome measure selection. KEY POINTS What is already known about this topic: It is recommended that clinicians use validated, user-friendly self-report measures to support their assessments of treatment outcomes over time for post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Clinicians may struggle to select which measure to use in their practice when faced with a plethora of choice regarding outcome measures for PTSD, especially given the impact of the DSM-5 update. The differences between measures which are utilised frequently (i.e. ‘common’ measures) and measures with good psychometric properties (i.e. validated measures) and those with good clinical utility (i.e. usability) can be difficult to understand What this topic adds: This paper used systematic review methodology was used to identify & evaluate a comprehensive list of self-report outcome measures for PTSD since the DSM-5 update in 2013 and the populations that they should be used with. For non-specific trauma exposure populations, the PCL-5 and SPRINT were found to be the most psychometrically valid measures, with the highest scoring clinical utility. The most psychometrically valid measures, with the highest scoring clinical utility for twelve specific trauma exposure populations are also presented.

[Purpose/Significance] This paper analyzes and compares the application direction and development trend of the existing domestic and foreign research theories and methods related to the performance evaluation of science and technology policy, so as to provide reference for the performance evaluation of science and technology policy. [Method/Process] This paper summarizes the origin and development of the performance evaluation of science and technology policy, the application of theoretical methods and models, and the use of metrological evaluation methods. It summarizes the stages of the development of science and technology policy evaluation, compares the characteristics of different theoretical methods, discusses the shortcomings of existing research and prospects the future development. [Results/Conclusions] The existing researches on the performance evaluation of science and technology policy mainly refer to the relevant methods of metrology in the use of methods and models, and combine with the characteristics of policy evaluation to improve, focusing on the use of quantitative methods and the construction of models. Suggestions: (1) The performance evaluation of science and technology policy should be diversified. (2) The performance evaluation methods of science and technology policy need to be diversified. (3) The performance evaluation process of science and technology policy should be intelligent. (4) The credibility of science and technology policy performance evaluation results needs to be improved. In the future, we can choose different evaluation methods according to different types and fields of policies.

Abstract Background Qualitative Comparative Analysis (QCA) is a method for identifying the configurations of conditions that lead to specific outcomes. Given its potential for providing evidence of causality in complex systems, QCA is increasingly used in evaluative research to examine the uptake or impacts of public health interventions. We map this emerging field, assessing the strengths and weaknesses of QCA approaches identified in published studies, and identify implications for future research and reporting. Methods PubMed, Scopus and Web of Science were systematically searched for peer-reviewed studies published in English up to December 2019 that had used QCA methods to identify the conditions associated with the uptake and/or effectiveness of interventions for public health. Data relating to the interventions studied (settings/level of intervention/populations), methods (type of QCA, case level, source of data, other methods used) and reported strengths and weaknesses of QCA were extracted and synthesised narratively. Results The search identified 1384 papers, of which 27 (describing 26 studies) met the inclusion criteria. Interventions evaluated ranged across: nutrition/obesity (n = 8); physical activity (n = 4); health inequalities (n = 3); mental health (n = 2); community engagement (n = 3); chronic condition management (n = 3); vaccine adoption or implementation (n = 2); programme implementation (n = 3); breastfeeding (n = 2), and general population health (n = 1). The majority of studies (n = 24) were of interventions solely or predominantly in high income countries. Key strengths reported were that QCA provides a method for addressing causal complexity; and that it provides a systematic approach for understanding the mechanisms at work in implementation across contexts. Weaknesses reported related to data availability limitations, especially on ineffective interventions. The majority of papers demonstrated good knowledge of cases, and justification of case selection, but other criteria of methodological quality were less comprehensively met. Conclusion QCA is a promising approach for addressing the role of context in complex interventions, and for identifying causal configurations of conditions that predict implementation and/or outcomes when there is sufficiently detailed understanding of a series of comparable cases. As the use of QCA in evaluative health research increases, there may be a need to develop advice for public health researchers and journals on minimum criteria for quality and reporting.

The aim of this paper is to analyse the effect of an app on learning improvement in subjects related to Operations Management in Bachelor Degrees. We show the results of a regression analysis between the use of the app (Blunder) and the students’ grades. This initiative arises from the experience of the Research Group on Production and Information and Communication Technologies (GIPTIC-UCM) of the Complutense University of Madrid as a result of the participation in an Educational Innovation Project.

Realizing the building of urban resilience and improving urban resilience has become important contents of urban development. In view of this phenomenon, relying on the framework of trio spaces, which includes physical space, societal space, and cyberspace, the evaluation index system of urban resilience is established. The evaluation model of urban resilience is constructed by using CRITIC-entropy weight and the cloud evaluation method. Four sub-provincial cities in Northeast China, Harbin, Changchun, Shenyang, and Dalian, are selected as the analysis objects, and the resilience of each city is comprehensively evaluated and spatially evaluated. From the urban resilience comprehensive evaluation, this paper found the cities with the highest resilience levels in 2014, from 2015 to 2018, and from 2019 to 2020 are Dalian, Changchun, and Shenyang, respectively. The city with the lowest resilience level is Harbin. Although there are differences in resilience evaluation values of four cities, the resilience levels of these cities are all “qualified”. From the urban resilience sub-space evaluation, this paper explored the shortcomings of the resilience of physical space, societal space, and cyberspace of each city through the comparison. Then, some suggestions about highlighting the enhancement of cyberspace resilience, emphasizing resilience-building balance, conducting resilience evaluation, and monitoring regularly, and local government policy support are proposed to help to promote urban resilience from the concept of trio spaces.

In order to be able to make informed decisions, the managers of the economic entity must know in detail and at all times the real situation of the patrimony. The quality of financial accounting information is closely linked to the possibility of evaluating and knowing how to centralize and collect it. Evaluation is the operation of appreciating, establishing value, price, number, calculating, counting, etc. Valuation is a process of the accounting method without which it would not be possible to achieve its objective. The evaluation is used to express the value of the existence and movement of the patrimonial elements. The exact knowledge of the volume and structure of the patrimonial elements can ensure at any moment, the obtaining of the information necessary for the decision-making by the managers of the patrimonial entities. The competitiveness of economic entities is largely influenced by the quality of the decisions necessary to carry out the economic activity that are taken by their management.

This paper provides an overview of the current state of research on the evaluation methods of participatory processes in smart cities. Specifically, it aims to identify and analyze existing evaluation methods and frameworks for public participation (PP) in smart city development. The study focuses on the evaluation of participatory processes to find key indicators and enable an assessment of PP from multiple perspectives. A scoping literature review was conducted to analyze the past ten years of scientific literature on the topic. Relevant literature was retrieved from Scopus, Web of Science, and Google Scholar, and articles were selected based on a set of criteria to ensure quality and relevance. We found that digital participation, also known as “e-participation”, is the most used method either exclusively or mixed with in-person methods. The level of participation achieved was mostly limited to the first two degrees of PP (i.e., information and consultation), and only a few papers addressed the highest degrees (i.e., agenda-setting and co-management). The impact on participants was mostly related to knowledge and skills, awareness raising, and satisfaction with the process and method. This paper highlights the potential to upskill citizens and enhance their understanding of sustainable urban development, fostering their commitment to achieving the United Nations’ sustainability goals for climate change mitigation in the urban context.

The question of whether ability-related emotional intelligence (ability EI) predicts important life outcomes has attracted considerably more attention than the question of what ability EI consists of. In the present paper, the authors draw from the attitude and emotion literatures to suggest that the evaluation dimension of meaning is likely key in understanding how ability EI operates. Measures of ability EI predict the extent to which individuals can accurately evaluate words and measures of the latter type act as emotional intelligence measures. Extending this analysis, the paper reviews recent sources of data linking ability EI to attitudinal processes, such as those involved in attitude–behavior relationships and affective bipolarity. Individuals with high EI appear to experience their affect in more bipolar terms and they display evidence of greater decisiveness in their evaluations. Pursuing links of the present type will allow researchers to generate new predictions concerning the ability EI construct.
