Two Decorations Awarded to the General Prosecutor at the Court of Appeal and to the Director of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Oradea-Mare (1921, 1928). In this article, we present, using phaleristics and sigillography, the Order "Crown of Romania", in the rank of Commander with which he was rewarded, by Decree no. 5,230 of December 9, 1921, Emil Fildan, general prosecutor at the Court of Appeal in Oradea Mare, as well as the Cross "Sanitary Merit" first class with which he was rewarded, by Decree no. 3,203 of December 29, 1928, Marţian, director of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Oradea-Mare, which through its activity gave a wide competition to the Ministry of Health and Social Welfare. The purpose of the study is to highlight the genesis and implementation of military awards in the practice of Hetman Paul Skoropadsky’s army. Methods. The goal was unveiled by the use of a comprehensive approach, combined with the principle of systematic and objective reflection of the historical process, as well as semantic, historical and chronological methods. The use of these methods of research contributed to obtaining their own results that are relevant to historical science. The scientific novelty of the obtained results is to formulate and develop a topical theme of the historical genesis of the symbolism of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the context of becoming a Ukrainian state. This topic has received considerable historiographic research. However, the period of Hetman Paul Skoropadsky’s reign in the scientific dimension was insufficiently covered. The question of the search for the historical origins of Ukrainian military symbolics and its development in independent Ukraine is of paramount importance, since the analysis of the semantics of historical symbolism is an important factor in the formation of the Ukrainian modern school of phallistics, vexillology, uniformism and heraldry. Reproduction of the basic processes of symbolic use will help to reconstruct the history of the formation and historical development of military symbols of Ukraine, to establish the symbolism of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and to clarify the degree of influence of symbolism on the spiritual culture of the Ukrainian people. The results of understanding the essence of the symbolic development process can serve as an important component in the study of modern problems of military construction and development of military-historical science, as well as the study of the subject field of military symbolism of Ukraine. Conclusions. The historical process of becoming Ukrainian states revealed the objective need to create their own state armed military formations. The symbolic designation of the Ukrainian army is a component of state policy. It is emphasized that the symbolism of the troops of the Ukrainian state is complex. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
