1. The Contamination of Words Borrowed from the French and German Languages in the Russian Language.
- Abstract
The article considers the language facts, reflecting the process of contamination, interaction, crosses and also associations of borrowed units on the basis of their structural, functional and associative proximity, leading to their semantic or formal change, as well as to the formation of new language units. Phonetic and, mainly, semantic contamination appears in borrowed language units conditioned by their associative proximity, can serve as an example of the development of associative links between the levels of borrowings relating to a lexico-semantic group in Russian dialects. Wordform from French in Russian names of fashion women's hats were borrowed. From German, through Polish and French thieves jargon was borrowed in Russian. Values and forms of these borrowings have had a mutual influence on each other, thanks to the fact that they have semantic and phonetic similarity. In Russian dialects a number of words are formed from the borrowed vocabulary, which have the same value. Some dialectal words were formed as a result of consolidation of the foundations of different borrowed words. An example of contamination of the borrowed vocabulary are also borrowed Proverbs, in which borrowed words different in meaning, but similar phonetically are interchangeable. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
