The study aims to determine whether the images of a teacher in the normative document and the minds of student teachers coincide, as well as to identify the differences. A total of 236 students of the Faculty of Philology and History participated in the associative experiment. The words "ability", "readiness", and "possession" are the most common words used in the normative documents of the Russian Federation in the context of higher education. The concept of "teacher" is the main stimulus word in the associative experiment. The results of the associative experiment revealed a group of the most frequent associative words. In addition, based on the quantitative indicators of the associative experiment, nine thematic groups of associative words were formed. A comparative analysis of the indicators of an associative experiment involving students from different countries can make it possible to compare the features of national education systems and show their effect on the formation of a teacher image in the minds of student teachers. The article analyzes the text in the modern paradigm of scientific knowledge from the perspective of categorization and pragmatics. A look at the text in a categorical dimension attests to a change in definitions, an expansion of the interpretation of the concept. It is noted that linguists differentiate text and discourse, study the text in semantic, grammatical, pragmatic-communicative and structural planes, study the categorical organization of the text. Focused on what, in addition to written texts, oral texts also attract the attention of scholars. The analysis of the text as an object of linguistic research in a pragmatic dimension is presented on the material of an oral text - a football television report. Football live television reporting appears as a process and product of oral communication addressed to a multi-million audience of game fans. The features of the football television report as a text are explained through a system of text categories with units of a lower hierarchy (according to the concept of A. Yeshchenko) in three dimensions: from the perspective of semantics, from the perspective of communicativeness, at the level of pragmatics. The article analyzes the linguistic and stylistic features of the work entitled «[Слово] надгробное... Кипріану...» by Gregory Tsamblak, proclaimed by the metropolitan in Kyiv around 1409. The text is characterized by a high level of verbal and artistic skill. The author uses traditional means of depiction, acts as an innovator, applying a whole system of linguistic means: units of the lexical level, artistic tropes (figuresof speech): linguistic repetitions, antonyms, epithets, metaphors, comparisons. Through the use of structurally similar words and typical syntactic constructions, the artist achieves the creation of a certain architectonics of the sacred text and its rhythmization. They help to emphasize the closeness of Gregory Tsamblak to his spiritual father Cyprian, to exalt his activities, and to express the depth of the loss of his mentor. The distinctive signs of the 'word-weaving' style, revealed in the work, testify not only to its affiliation to the high style of religious writing, but also increased attention to the inner world of man, which corresponds to the ideas of hesychasm of that time. The article is devoted to the comprehensive review of the concepts of DISEASE and ANIMAL DISEASE and means of their verbalization in English. The material for the study were articles from dictionaries, texts of medical discourse, the works of foreign researchers on this issue. The use of descriptive and comparative methods, etymological and contextual analyzes contributed to the selection of semantic and cognitive features of the DISEASE concept, substantiation of the peculiarities of its verbalization. There are three most common units in the lexical-semantic series of the DISEASE concept: "disease", "illness", "sickness". A comparative analysis of these tokens within the lexical-semantic field "disease" in English showed that they have a common semantic feature: "health problems, physiological or mental disorders." The DISEASE concept exists in both scientific and naive pictures of the world, but the ways of its expression differ significantly. In the scientific medical field, the concept of "disease" occupies a prominent position. The terms "illness", "sickness" are mainly used by naive native speakers mainly on a daily basis. In the English veterinary terminology, only three nominations are used to denote animal diseases: "disease", "sickness" and "illness" with the dominance of the token "disease". The fiction politics of contemporaneity reflects diversified patterns of language forms and their functions. This has brought to life experimental (postmodernist) writing the key principles of intertextuality, fragmentation, destruction, play. Postmodernist aesthetics caused a blurring of traditional genre canons that led to contamination of syncretic genre compounds through a grotesque transformation of traditional genre models and created an „estrangement? effect. The phenomenon of ludic absurd is viewed in three aspects: 1) linguo-philosophical; 2) cognitive; 3) poetic. The present study focuses on the analysis of ludic absurd; the role of graphic, phonetic, morphemic, word-forming, syntactical, semantic mechanisms, based on the intentional deviation of language norm, play on words; cognitive mechanisms, generated by ad-hoc way of thinking. The conducted linguopoetic analysis of American postmodern short stories suggests that ludic absurd as a stylistic device of postmodern poetics manifests itself at all language levels (lexical, syntactic, semasiological, and textual) and is realized via the semantic asymmetry of lexical units, using illogical, but grammatically correct syntactic constructions, syntactic mismatch of sentences and whole text fragments. Prospects for further studies consist in clarifying the pragmatic role of ludic absurd in the postmodern literary text; expanding the taxonomy of lexico-semantic, stylistic, and syntactic and paragraphemic means of ludic absurd. The article deals with language portrait of motivational speaker. The purpose of the study is to try to give description of such language personality, create his language portrait based on analysis of language means abundant in motivational speeches. The methodology of our study comprises scientific methods and tools applicable to investigating language portrait of the studied type of speaker, particularly semantic and structural analysis. We use the term language personality in the sense of referring to one individual of a certain language community who has a particular set of language skills and qualities. Language personality is thought by us in two aspects: 1) as a characteristic of a certain individuality; 2) as description of typical personality. The article supports the idea of language personality of motivational speaker as such manifesting himself in speech, having knowledge, charisma, ability to persuade. Whereas language portrait of motivational speaker is an organized structure comprising linguistic, personal and psychological factors. While building language portrait we have analyzed communicative type of motivational speaker, defined reinforcing vocabulary, grammar and syntax, described aspects of motivational speeches, investigated the elements and techniques of speech. The originality of historical and cultural development of any nation is most vividly expressed in poetry. To translate the poetry of other peoples is to understand the national character and the emotional world of other cultures as well as to find in the translated language the adequate means for the expression of these features.
