Background: The caring behaviors of outpatient nurses play a crucial role in improving the quality of care in hospitals. Work resources and personal psychological resources have a significant impact on nurses' caring behavior. Previous research has shown that perceived organizational support and compassion fatigue are linked to nurses' caring behaviors. However, the specific relationship among these variables is less clear in the context of outpatient nurses working in high-stress environments. Methods: A convenience sampling method was utilized to recruit 413 outpatient nurses from six tertiary hospitals in Xi'an, China, as research subjects between November 2023 and January 2024. The questionnaires used in the study included a sociodemographic questionnaire, the Perceived Organizational Support Scale, the Chinese version of the Compassion Fatigue Brief Scale, and the Chinese version of the Caring Behavior Scale. Data analysis involved descriptive statistics, Mann-Whitney U test, Kruskal-Wallis H rank-sum test, Spearman correlation analysis, and the PROCESS macro model 4. Results: A significant negative correlation was observed between the sense of organizational support and compassion fatigue (ρ=-0.547, P < 0.01). Conversely, a significant positive correlation was found between the sense of organizational support and caring behavior (ρ = 0.469, P < 0.01). Moreover, there was a significant negative correlation between compassion fatigue and caring behavior (ρ=-0.641, P < 0.01). Subsequent mediation analysis demonstrated that compassion fatigue partially mediated the relationship between perceived organizational support and caring behaviors. The overall impact of perceived organizational support on caring behavior (β = 0.363) encompasses both its direct influence (β = 0.131) and the indirect impact mediated by compassion fatigue (β = 0.232). The mediating effect accounts for 63.9% of the total effect. Conclusion: Compassion fatigue acts as a partial mediator in the relationship between perceived organizational support and the caring behavior of outpatient nurses. It is essential for nursing managers to effectively manage both the work resources and personal psychological resources of outpatient nurses to improve their caring behaviors in high-stress settings. By improving nurses' organizational support resources, we can reduce the depletion of their personal psychological resources and alleviate negative emotions such as compassion fatigue. Background: As core members of hospice care team, the hospice nurses' ability to care for patients not only directly affects the standard of patient care, but also significantly impacts patient quality of life. It can be seen that it is very meaningful for patients to improve the caring behavior of hospice nurses. Therefore, it is necessary to deeply explore the influencing factors of nurses' caring behavior and further clarify the mechanism between them. Methods: The STROBE guideline was performed to report this study. We conducted a cross-sectional survey from December 2023 to February 2024. In this study, 392 hospice nurses were recruited from tertiary public hospitals in East China by convenient sampling method. Participants were investigated using the Practice Environment Scale, Professional Identity Scale, and Caring Behaviors Inventory. Structural equation modelling was utilized to verify the research hypotheses. Results: The results revealed that there were significant and positive correlations between work environment, professional identity and caring behavior. Furthermore, professional identity partially mediated the relationship between work environment and caring behavior. Conclusion: Work environment is critical to improving hospice nurses' caring behavior. Professional identity plays an intermediary role impacting how work environment promotes caring behavior among Chinese hospice nurses. Nursing managers should have a correct understanding of the relationship between them. Targeted measures and coping strategies need to be actively taken to create a better working environment for hospice nurses. Aim: This study aimed to understand the influence of clinical instructors' caring behavior on the psychological well-being of student nurses. Design: This study survey used the quantitative cross-sectional research design. Method: The sample comprised 405 Saudi nursing students studying at Shaqra University. The study used two instruments: the "Nursing Students' Perceptions of Instructor Caring" and the "Student Well-being Process Questionnaire." Convenience sampling was used to collect data from November 2021 to February 2022 Result: The students' perceived Instructor caring was high. The psychological well-being of students was high. There were significant variations in the students' perceived Instructor's caring in terms of year level. A very weak positive correlation existed between the student nurses' rank in their families and their perceived Instructor's caring. Furthermore, gender, year level, family structure, and the Instructor's caring subscales "supportive learning climate," "appreciation of life's meaning," and "control versus flexibility" were significant predictors of the student's psychological well-being. Objective: Professional values are crucial for delivering high-quality care in neonatal intensive care units while caring behavior impacts nurses' performance and well-being. The purpose of this study was to assess the relationship between professional values and caring behavior among nurses in neonatal intensive care units. Methods: A cross-sectional study involving 172 nurses was conducted using the Nursing Professional Value Scale and Caring Behaviors Assessment Tool. The study was carried out between 1 October and 5 December 2023. Results: Nurses demonstrated a moderate to high degree of professional commitment, with a mean professional value score of 91.1 ± 11.1. The mean score for caring behavior was 99.7 ± 12.4. The highest-rated domain was setting up a supporting, protective, and corrective environment, with a mean score of 22.8 ± 2.7. A low positive relationship was found between the supportive, protective, and corrective environment domain and nurses' professional value (r = 0.18, p = 0.017), as well as between overall caring behavior and nurses' professional value (r = 0.16, p = 0.038). Conclusion: The results indicate a favorable relationship between professional values and caring behavior, especially in areas like establishing a supportive workplace. However, both professional value and caring behavior needs improvement in certain aspect. Enhancing these aspects could further strengthen their relationship, ultimately improving the quality of care provided to newborn patients and their families. Practice implications: To cultivate a positive work environment and instill caring behaviors and professional values among NICU nurses, it is imperative to allocate sufficient time and resources. The aims of the research were to investigate the mediating effect of emotional intelligence and the moderating effect of disgust sensitivity on the relationship between proactive personality and caring behavior among clinical nurses. A cross‐sectional design while adhering to STROBE guidelines was used for this study. Three hundred ninety‐three purposely selected nurses from three tertiary general hospitals completed an online survey. Measures included proactive personality, emotional intelligence, disgust sensitivity, and caring behavior. The findings showed that proactive personality positively predicted nurses' caring behavior, and that emotional intelligence played a mediating role in the relationship between proactive personality and caring behavior. Disgust sensitivity indirectly and negatively moderated the impact of proactive personality on nurses' caring behavior mainly in the second half of this moderated relationship. The findings underscore that the nursing managers may consider incorporating emotional intelligence topic in practical nursing skills training and improving nurses' ability to control their disgust sensitivity can improve their professional behavior, thus to provide patients with high‐quality nursing services. Background: The empathic relationship between nursing students and patients allows them to understand and address caring behavior for patients. Appropriate emotional support equips them to overcome the complexities and difficulties inherent in patient care. This support cultivates resilience and self-awareness, enabling students to manage their emotions effectively and establish meaningful connections and caring with their patients. Objectives: To investigate the role of empathy in the association between emotional support and caring behavior toward patients among intern nursing students at Alexandria and Damanhur University. Subjects: The study subjects were 200 intern nursing students in their internship years of 2022–2023, randomly selected from an equal sample size from Alexandria and Damanhur University, Egypt. Tools: A questionnaire of social information& academics from students, the Toronto Empathy Questionnaire, the Caring Dimension Inventory, and the Multidimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support are used to collect participants' data. Results: Empathy was associated with caring behavior and emotional support among nursing students (P < 0.001), and higher levels of empathy indicated increased levels of caring behavior and emotional support. The caring behavior significantly increased when intern nursing students received more emotional support and among those who were not working in private hospitals (p < 0.001,&p = 0.023 respectively). Empathy acts as a mediating role in the relationship between emotional support and caring behavior. Implications: Implementing strategies to assist interns in navigating challenges and promoting a culture of support can facilitate the cultivation of caring behaviors. Shedding light on the interconnectedness of empathy, emotional support, and caring behavior can inform the design of interventions to strengthen empathy as a pathway to improving patient outcomes. Introduction: The caring behavior of hospice nurses toward patients positively impacts their professional careers and significantly improves the quality of hospice services. A positive and supportive work environment may protect nurses against negative emotions that may affect the humanistic care they provide, and their job satisfaction. This study aimed to explore the impact of the nursing work environment on caring behavior. We also investigated the chain mediating effect of psychological capital and empathy on this relationship among Chinese hospice nurses. Methods: The Practice Environment Scale (PES), the Psychological Capital Questionnaire (PCQ), the Empathy Ability Scale for Hospice Nurses, and the Caring Behaviors Inventory (CBI) were used to survey 393 Chinese hospice nurses. SPSS 27.0 and Mplus 8.0 were used for statistical processing to analyze the mediating effects. Results: The nursing work environment positively predicted caring behavior. Furthermore, it was found that psychological capital and empathy jointly mediate the relationship between the nursing work environment and caring behavior. Conclusion: This study reveals how the nursing work environment affects the caring behavior of hospice nurses. Hospital managers need to provide hospice nurses with a favorable working environment from the perspective of positive psychology, continuously monitor their psychological state, improve their caring behavior, and provide references for developing intervention plans to promote the caring behavior of hospice nurses in the future. Pediatric nurses are key members in providing health care to children. Emotional intelligence plays an important role in healthcare and healthcare education, and higher emotional intelligence is associated with more compassionate and empathetic patient care, higher knowledge and skills, and better teamwork. This research is a predictive correlation study which was conducted in 2022 on 236 nurses working in pediatric wards. In this study, SPSS22 and AMOS26 and path analysis statistical method were used for data analysis. The results of this study showed that the professional quality of life with caring behaviors in nurses working in pediatric ward (β = 0.339, p <.001) and the professional quality of life with emotional intelligence in nurses working in pediatric ward (β = 0.175 , p =.002) and emotional intelligence correlated with care behaviors in nurses working in the pediatric ward (β = 0.306, p =.001). The ability to explain the final model is 18%. The results of this study showed that having a higher professional quality of life in pediatric nurses, in addition to being effective on the mental health of nurses, can also affect caring behaviors. Pediatric nurses with a higher level of compassion satisfaction and less burnout can have empathic behaviors and more effective communication with the child and its parents as a whole unit of care and provide more humanistic care that is required to care for a sick child. Background: The COVID-19 pandemic represents a substantial threat to world health, economic stability, and civilization in general. In the COVID-19 era, health workers, particularly frontline nurses, face increasing pressure which further affects patient satisfaction. However, empirical studies that connected burnout, job satisfaction, and caring behavior toward patient satisfaction from the nurses' point of view are still scarce. Purpose: This study aimed to explore the relationship between nurse burnout with patient satisfaction mediated by work satisfaction and nurse caring behavior at a private COVID-19 referral hospital from the nurses' perspective. Methods: A quantitative survey with a cross-sectional approach was conducted from March to April 2021 to test the framework on the population obtained from full-time nurses who worked at a private COVID-19 referral hospital in Manado, North Sulawesi, Indonesia. The researcher analyzed the empirical data generated from purposive sampling resulting in 170 eligible respondents. Data were collected through a self-completed online questionnaire with the Likert scale. The data analysis deployed the PLS-SEM approach. Results: The findings indicate that nurse burnout is associated significantly (p<0.05 and CI 95%) with the delivery of patient satisfaction from the nurses' perspective, mediated by job satisfaction and nurses' caring behavior. The mediation relationship was found with β=0.021, while the direct relation from caring behavior to patient satisfaction was β=0.277 and from job satisfaction was β=0.582. The proposed model demonstrated adequate prediction of patient satisfaction as the dependent variable (R²=0.633). Conclusion: This study concluded that nurse burnout which consists of three dimensions mediated by job satisfaction and caring behavior had an association with patient satisfaction. Increased burnout will result in decreased job satisfaction and caring behavior. Introduction: Nurses who are at the forefront of the fight against Covid-19 have faced problems such as anxiety and stress due to the high contagiousness of this disease and the challenges of providing services to infected patients. Death anxiety and the resulting fear following the Covid-19 pandemic can affect caring behaviors and the quality of nursing care services. Objective: The present study was conducted with the aim of determining the association between caring behaviors and death anxiety among Iranian nurses working in COVID-19 wards. Methods: This cross-sectional study was conducted in 2021 in Tehran. The participants consisted of 233 nurses who were purposively selected from university hospitals in Iran. Data collection tools included Demographic Information Form, Death Anxiety Scale, and Caring Dimension Inventory (CDI-25). Data analysis was done using SPSS (version 16). Results: Most of the participants were female (79.4%), had less than 5 years of work experience (50.6%), and had bachelor's degree (88.8%). Based on the results, the level of death anxiety among nurses was moderate (7.05 ± 3.85) and their caring behavior was at optimal level (103.03 ± 13.15). Among the subscales of caring behavior, physical-technical behaviors with mean of 46.43 ± 6.20 got the highest score, and unnecessary behaviors with mean of 4.39 ± 0.73 got the lowest score compared to other subscales. Based on data analysis findings, caring behavior and its dimensions had no significant correlation with nurses' death anxiety (p = 0.111). Conclusions: Our results showed that despite having a moderate level of anxiety, nurses try to provide good care behaviors to patients with covid-19. Introduction to nurses' caring behavior when providing nursing care to clients that can improve the quality of nursing services and client safety which is certainly expected to help clients heal, but in reality to be able to realize the quality of nursing services is still experiencing obstacles, there is still a high number of uncaring behavior in providing services to patients, concrete steps are needed in solving the problem of high rates of behavior Not Caring through strengthening career development and nurse job satisfaction so that caring behavior can be realized. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of career development and job satisfaction on the caring behavior of inpatient nurses at Hospital X Karawang. Non-experimental quantitative research method with cross sectional analytics using Logistic Regression, The sample of this study was 43 inpatient nurses of Hospital X Karawang with data analysis techniques using SPSS Program Version 24.0. The results based on multiple logistic regression analysis showed the influence of career development on nurses' caring behavior obtained p value of 0.009 (p-value < 0.05 ), there was an effect of job satisfaction on nurses' caring behavior obtained p value of 0.013 (p-value < 0.05). Based on multivariate analysis, there was an effect of career development and job satisfaction on nurses' caring behavior by 73.5%. In addition, the results of the study were obtained by respondents with good career development and have good caring behavior as many as 17 respondents with a percentage of 63% and respondents with less job satisfaction and have poor caring behavior as many as 16 respondents with a percentage of 66.7%. And it was obtained that more respondents in Hospital X Karawang Inpatient in 2023 had less job satisfaction, namely as many as 24 (55.8%) respondents. Conclusion Based on the results of this study, it can be concluded that of the 2 variables studied, the most dominant variable affecting Caring Behavior is the Career Development variable with a value with an odds ratio value of 3.551, but nevertheless does not ignore other variables such as Job Satisfaction with an odds ratio value of 2.924 54. Caring behaviors are an important focus of nurses' physical and technical aspects of caring. By identifying and comprehending the nurses' caring behaviors from the perspective of the patients, as well as taking into account the elements influencing caring behaviors during the Covid-19 pandemic, we may plan to offer nursing care and caring behaviors based on the needs of the patients. In this cross-sectional study, purposive sampling was used to collect data from both the Demographic Questionnaire and the Nurses' Caring Behavior Questionnaire. The results showed that the respectful relationship field had an average score of 33.57, the professional knowledge and skill field at 15.35, and the overall mean score for the questionnaire was 43.92, with the mean score from the questionnaire being higher than the real mean score. It may be concluded that this component of nurses' behavior is seen favorably by patients in the Covid-19 ward. Additionally, the patients in the Covid-19 ward thought the mean score from the questionnaire on professional knowledge and skills was good because it was higher than the real mean score. The questionnaire's overall score was likewise greater than its mean overall score. Overall, it can be concluded that patients in the Covid-19 ward have a positive opinion of the nurses' level of caring behaviors. These results indicate that it is possible to achieve ideal caring and full patient satisfaction by planning and considering future outlook in order to educate and empower nurses in terms of correct caring behaviors, and to provide quality caretaking. Background: The nursing profession's uniqueness contributes to the development of knowledge, experience, age, education, economy, and position, as well as a unique gender role. Thus, the development and advancement of demographic characteristics of nurses while in this profession influences their caring behavior. Objective: The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of work setting and demographic factors on nurses' caring behaviour, as well as the differences in nurses' caring behaviour based on demographic factors between nurses in public hospitals and nurses in public health services in Sabah, Malaysia. Methods: This research is a cross-sectional study using the survey method. Data were collected from 3,532 nurses (88.3% response rate) in public hospitals and public health services within Sabah, Malaysia. Data were analysed using two-way ANOVA. Results: The two-way ANOVA test revealed no significant impact of the work setting on CB, nor was there a notable interaction between the work setting and demographic factors influencing nurses' CB. However, demographic factors such as gender, age, education, economic status, position, and experience had a significant effect on CB. Conclusion: The present research has provided convergent evidence on the effect of demographic factors on nurses caring behavior and the differences in caring behavior based on demographic factors among nurses in public hospitals and public health services in Sabah, Malaysia. Introduction and aim. In the COVID-19 pandemic, which is a global threat, the awareness levels of intensive care nurses who meet all the care needs of patients can affect the quality of care. In this study, pandemic awareness and care behaviors of nurses who undertook the patient's care needs in intensive care units were examined. Material and methods. The research was carried out with 317 nurses working critical care units of 12 hospitals in different provinces. "Nurse Characteristics Form", "Pandemic Awareness Scale" and "Caring Behaviors Inventory-24" were used as data collection tools. Data were collected between March and August 2022 in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic process using an online survey. Results. It was determined that 75.4% of the participants were female and the mean age was 25.56±4.49. Pandemic awareness scale score was 3.04±0.62 (0.11-3.67) and caring behaviors inventory score was 5.48±0.84 (1.00-6.00). A significant, positive, weak relationship was found between nurses' pandemic awareness and all sub-dimensions of caring behaviors (p= 0.05). Conclusion. It was seen that the caring behaviors of nurses with high pandemic awareness were also positively affected. In general, caring is an ability to be dedicated to others, vigilant supervision, feelings of empathy for others and feelings of love or affection for others. Caring is central of nursing practice, because caring is a dynamic approach which are nurses can work to further enhance their care for clients or patients. This study aimed to identify the relationship between the characteristics and motivation of nurses with caring behavior in Regional Public Hospital Aceh. A cross-sectional study was conducted on 154 nurses in one of Regional Public Hospital Aceh that were selected by using purposive sampling technique. Data were collected by using a questionnaire. The results of this study by using Chi-square test showed that the nurses's age (P = 0.001), years of work (P = 0.009) and nurses's motivation (P = 0.001) had a significant relationship with caring behavior. Meanwhile, gender (P = 0.950) and nurses's education (P = 0.123) showed no significant relationship with caring behavior. Then, the result by using multiple logistic regression test showed the most variable that related to the caring behavior was nurses's age (P = 0,001; OR 6.834). It suggested for nurses to improve their caring behavior to the patient, because it could increase the comfort feels of the patients and psychological needs will be fulfilled by caring. This study intended to develop and assess the psychometric properties of a caring behavior scale on healthcare students and providers (CBS-HSP) in a Taiwanese population. After a literature review was conducted and an expert panel was consulted for item generation, 104 items for the CBS-HSP scale were derived on a nine-point Likert scale, with 9 indicating 'extremely important' and 1 indicating 'extremely unimportant.' A pilot study was then conducted with seven hundred forty-eight healthcare students and providers in Taiwan for further data analysis. The statistic software used in the study was SPSS for the exploratory factor analysis (EFA) and AMOS for the confirmatory factor analysis (CFA). Also, to examine the psychometric properties of the scale, internal consistency, convergent validities, discriminant validities, and model fit indices were calculated in the study. The EFA results derived 31 items in four factors, with 65.742% of the total variance explained: 'support and attentiveness' (11 items; 48.714% of the variance explained), 'professional knowledge and skills' (8 items; 8.226% of the variance explained), 'gratifying needs and responsiveness' (7 items; 5.236% of the variance explained), and 'confidentiality and trust' (5 items; 3.566% of the variance explained). The Cronbach's alphas for the four subscales and the overall scale ranged from 0.894 to 0.964. The CFA results yielded the same 31 items, with the same four factors. The CFA results demonstrated good to excellent model fit in the χ2/df ratio (1.242), GFI (0.988), CFI (0.988), TFI (0.985), and RMSEA (0.031). The Cronbach's alphas ranged between 0.866 and 0.971; the composite alphas ranged between 0.854 and 0.964. The convergent and discriminant validities also proved the stability of the CBS-HSP scale. The research results indicated that the developed CBS-HSP appeared to be a reliable instrument to measure healthcare students' and providers' caring behaviors. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Introduction: Stressed people are physically, psychologically, and behaviorally damaged. This study aimed to investigate the effect of job stress on nurses' caring behaviors and quality of life related to their health during Coronavirus pandemic. Methods: The present study is an applied and analytical research conducted cross-sectionally in 2021. The study's statistical population was 740 nurses from the hospitals of Mazandaran University of Medical Sciences. The authors randomly selected a sample of 253 nurses using Cochran's formula. The data collection tool was a standard questionnaire. The structural equation model test analyzed the collected data to measure the research hypotheses using SPSS 22 and Amos 22 software. Results: The standard coefficient value between stress and caring behavior is -0.47, and the significant value (t-value) is greater than 1.96 (equal to 5.350) at 95% level; therefore, the relationship between these two variables was found significant. Moreover, the standard coefficient value between job stress and quality of work life is -0.55, and the significant value (t-value) is greater than 1.96 (equal to 6.488) at the 95% level, showing a significant relationship between these two variables. Conclusion: Considering the obtained results, it is necessary to develop effective strategies, such as staff participation in decision-making, supervisory support, and reducing work pressure for improving working conditions and reducing nurses’ occupational stress. Nursing services are based on the caring attitude of nurses who can improve the quality of nursing services. The caring behavior of nurses is provided through an approach where nurses work by increasing their concern for patients. But this is influenced by caring efficacy where a nurse is confident to express her concern for the patient. Previous research has explained that the prevalence of caring nurse behavior in some regions is indeed different. For this reason, further comparison and analysis are needed to be related to research on caring nurse behavior. A Literature search is carried out between 2017 and 2022 using the PubMed, Science Direct, Scopus, Google Scholar, and Proquest databases. The terms used in the search are factors, nurses caring behavior, inpatients, and hospitals. Inclusion and exclusion criteria are also applied in the search for related research articles. The percentage value of nurse-caring behavior has various categories, where the percentage of good nurse-caring behavior includes Indonesia, Ethiopia, the United States, Korea, Iran, and Singapore. Various studies have shown that many factors can influence nurse’s caring behavior, which can be classified into three main factors: 1) Individual Factors, including age, education, and length of service; 2) Psychological Factors, including co-worker relationships and job satisfaction; and 3) Organizational Factors, including supervision and workload. A systematic review of the three main factors influencing nurse’s caring behavior is expected to be a reference material in determining strategies for improving hospital HR skills, especially among nurses. Purpose: The aim of the study was to investigate the empathy level and caring behaviors perceptions of nursing students. Method: This cross‐sectional and correlational study was conducted with 276 nursing students. Results: The mean Empathic Tendency Scale score was 62.71 ± 5.10 (min. 20 to max. 100), indicating a low level of empathy. The mean of the Caring Assessment Questionnaire was 5.42 ± 0.80 (min. 1 to max. 7), showing a good perception of caring behaviors. There was a positive, low, and significant relationship between empathy and caring behaviors (r = 0.286, p < 0.001). Conclusion: This study revealed that nursing students have low‐level empathy and high‐level caring behaviors. Practice Implications: Throughout the educational process, the students' caring competencies, which include empathy and caring behaviors, developed. Background: Care is the basis of the nursing profession and nurse's caring behavior is one of the important factors in patient satisfaction. On the other hand, psychological empowerment can improve the provision of care services, and leaders have a significant impact on the behavior of followers. This study determined the correlation between ethical leadership, psychological empowerment, and caring behavior from nurses' perspective. Methods: This cross-sectional descriptive study was conducted in 2019. A total of 200 nurses were selected by stratified random sampling. Data were collected with ethical leadership, caring behavior and psychological empowerment questionnaires and analyzed with descriptive statistics (mean and standard deviation, frequency distribution) and inferential statistics (Pearson correlation coefficient, regression, and t-test) using SPSS20. Results: The findings showed a significant correlation between ethical leadership, psychological empowerment (P < 0.001, r = 0.24) and caring behavior of nurses (P < 0.001, r = 0.25). Also, there was a significant correlation between psychological empowerment and nurses' caring behavior (P = 0.002, r = 0.21). The regression analysis showed that ethical leadership and psychological empowerment are a predictor of caring behavior of nurses. Conclusion: Applying an ethical leadership style by nursing managers can lead to nurses' improved psychological empowerment and caring behaviors and ultimately, patient care quality. Thus, considering guidelines at the team and organizational levels and programs such as providing workshops and periodic counseling to cultivate ethical nurse leadership can lead to better caring behavior. Purpose: This study aimed to determine the relationship between nursing students' professional attitudes and caring behaviors. Design and Methods: The research is a cross‐sectional, descriptive, and correlational study. The study was conducted with 202 nursing students. The participation rate was 95%. Findings: The total Instrument of Professional Attitude for Student Nurses mean score was 106.708 ± 20.24 and the Caring Behaviors Inventory‐24 mean score of the nursing students was 5.23 ± 0.88. A positive weak correlation was found between total Instrument of Professional Attitude for Student Nurses scores and sub‐dimension scores, and Caring Behaviors Inventory‐24 total scores of nursing students (p <.05). The aim of the present study was to examine the effect of nurses' personality, spirituality, and spiritual care in nurses' caring behaviors. A descriptive, cross-sectional study was conducted in two hospitals, located in Athens, Greece. Data were collected by a four-part self-reported questionnaire. The results showed that work experience seems to play an important and positive role on nurses' caring behaviors, and all personality traits, except neuroticism. Also, spirituality and spiritual climate are significant factors predicting nurses' caring behaviors. Moreover, a hospitals' spiritual climate can positively influence all domains of nursing care (p < 0.001). This study aimed to investigate the mediating effect of compassion competence on the relationship between caring behaviors and the quality of nursing services. Participants included nurses working in South Korean hospitals. Data collected from 1 November to 31 December 2020 were analyzed using a t-test, analysis of variance (ANOVA), Pearson's correlation coefficients, and hierarchical multiple regression. We found that caring behavior had a positive correlation with the quality of nursing services and compassion competence. Moreover, there was a positive correlation between the quality of nursing services and compassion competence. Compassion competence had a significant mediating effect on the relationship between caring behaviors and quality of nursing services. This suggests that nurses' caring behaviors can enable high-quality nursing services influenced by compassion. Therefore, in order to improve the quality of nursing services, repeated and continuous implementation of training programs including education that can improve compassion competence is necessary. Background: Caring behavior is influenced by psychological factors, including the characteristics of personality. However, psychological test results for nurses' recruitment are not optimal for nursing resource development. This study aimed to determine the relationship between personality characteristics and nurses' caring behavior in hospitals. Design and methods: A cross-sectional design was adopted involving 153 nurses of a private hospital in Jakarta selected by convenience sampling technique. Data were also collected from the Caring Behavior Inventory (CBI-24) and Myers-Briggs Type Indicators (MBTI) test results. Statistical analysis using the oneway ANOVA to identify differences in nurses' CBI scores based on MBTI personality. Results: The results study indicate that most of the nurses were traditionalists (75.16%), and the average CBI score (85.43±5.94) was equivalent to 85%, which means that nurses' caring behavior was good. There were differences in the scores of caring behaviors among personality characteristics; however, these differences were not statistically significant (p=0.320; α=0.05). Furthermore, the post hoc test analysis showed that the conceptualizer nurses had the highest caring behavior score, while the experiencers had the lowest. Conclusions: Personality characteristics, as measured by MBTI, are not related to the caring behavior of nurses. One possible reason for this result is that the MBTI does not specifically measure caring personality. Psychological tests on personality characteristics are used in career development and nurse placement. This study recommends that human resource management in healthcare use more specific tools to measure caring personality and psychological tests in healthcare staff recruitment for betterhumanized healthcare services. Background: Nursing practice is centered on caring and nurses' behaviour has an impact on the quality of patient care and it is predictive of patient satisfaction,however, many nurses, in reality, do not exhibit caring behavior when providing nursing care to clients. This study was aimed to assess the level and predictors of nurse caring behaviors among nurses serving in inpatient departments in public hospitals in Harari Region of Ethiopia from March 10 to April 10, 2021. Method: A cross-sectional study was conducted among 300 nurses providing inpatient service in public hospitals in the Harari region of eastern Ethiopia. All permanent nurses working in major inpatient services of two public hospitals, namely Jugal General Hospital (JGH) and Hiwot Fana Specialized University Hospital (HFSUH) were included. The English version of the CNPI-Nurse scale was used to determine the level of caring behavior. The association was reported using the crude and adjusted odds ratios along with the 95% confidence interval. The statistical significance of the association was declared at p-value < 0.05. Result: The caring behavior was classified as high and low based on the median score. According to this study only 51.67% (95% CI:45.97, 57.35%) of nurses had good caring behavior. The odds of having good caring behavior were 2.22 (AOR = 2.22, 95%CI: 1.20, 4.10) times higher among nurses working in good working environment compared to those who work in bad working environment. Nurses who were satisfied with their job had 2.79 (AOR: 2.79, 95%CI: 1.54, 5.08) times higher odds of good caring behavior than those who were not satisfied with their job. Similarly, nurses who had a lower workload had a 3.01 (AOR: 3.01, 95%CI: 1.70, 5.33) times higher probability of having good caring behavior from nurses compared to nurses who reported having a high workload. Conclusion: The level of nurses caring behavior is not satisfactory and it is influenced by working environment characteristics, job satisfaction and workload. Purpose: The purpose of this study was to adapt the Caring Assessment Tool‐Administration (CAT‐Adm) to Turkish and to test the psychometric properties. Design and Methods: The study was carried out in a cross‐sectional and methodological design. The sample consisted of 578 nurses. Findings: The total score correlation coefficients of the items in the scale ranged from 0.69 to 0.90, and the Cronbach alpha reliability coefficient was 0.98, indicating excellent reliability. The results of the factor analysis confirmed the single‐factor structure of CAT‐Adm and the scale fit was good. Conculation: In this study, CAT‐Adm was determined to be a reliable and valid tool. Purpose: The extent to which nurses tailor their care to the patient's specific needs has a direct impact on patient health outcomes. Satisfied people will have good communication with the health professional, which results in good care and health outcome, so this study aimed to assess the association of caring behavior of nurses with the level of patient satisfaction, in public hospitals of the Harari region, Eastern Ethiopia, from March 10 to April 10, 2021. Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted among 300 nurses providing inpatient services and 345 randomly selected admitted patients in two public hospitals of Harari region, Eastern Ethiopia. Clinical nurse–patient interaction scale was used to assess the level of caring behavior. The level of patient satisfaction was measured using the patient satisfaction scale tool. We used structural equation modeling to determine the relationship of nurses caring behaviour and the level of patient satisfaction. The association was reported using coefficient (β) along with a 95% confidence interval. The statistical significance of the association was declared at P < 0.05. Results: According to this study, only 51.67% of the nurses had good caring behavior and 62.90% of the patients were satisfied with the nursing care they received. The nurses' caring behavior score was increased by 41% (β=0.41; 95% CI: 0.20, 0.63) and (β=0.65; 95% CI: 0.48, 0.81) as nurses' job satisfaction and work environment scores increased by one scale, respectively. Similarly, the score of patient satisfaction was increased by 2% (β=0.02; 95% CI: 0.01, 0.12) as the score of nurse caring behaviour was increased by one scale. Conclusion: Patient satisfaction increased as the nurses care behavior score increased, so nurses must continue to identify ways to evaluate and increase patient happiness, as well as illustrate the impact nurses have on patient satisfaction with hospital experience as a result of their treatment. Purpose: To examine the relationship between nursing students' perceptions of clinical instructor caring and their professional behaviors. Method: This study used a descriptive and cross‐sectional design. The data were analyzed with Pearson's correlation and Linear regression analyses. Results: The professional behaviors of nursing students were found to increase their desire to become a nurse in the future with "instills confidence through caring" and "supportive learning climate" subscales but to decrease their desire to be an academician in the future. Conclusion: As students' perceptions of clinical instructor caring increased, their status of applying professional behaviors was found to increase, as well. Purpose: To evaluate the relationship of caring behaviors with moral sensitivity, emotional intelligence and descriptive characteristics in intensive care nurses. Method: Descriptive study. The sample of this study consisted of 156 nurses. The data were collected using introductory information form, caring behaviors inventory, moral sensitivity questionnaire, and emotional intelligence scale. The factors affecting caring behavior were determined using stepwise multiple linear regression. Finding: It was determined that high education level, working in shifts, as well as appraisal of emotion subscale of emotional intelligence scale and also autonomy, expressing benevolence, and following praxis subscales of moral sensitivity questionnaire were high predictors for caring behaviors. Background: Caring is the major focus of nursing practice, and their behavior has an impact on the quality of patient care, and it is very important that they are satisfied while working. The strong relationship between job satisfaction and nurses caring behavior is well established, and therefore the managers can be encouraged to provide better conditions for nurses’ satisfaction. The aim of this study was to investigate the relationship between job satisfaction and the caring behavior of nurses in the Military Hospital. Design and Methods: A survey with a self-assessment questionnaire was carried out from August to December 2019. Participants were 121 nurses working in a military hospital Malang, Indonesia. The data was collected using the Job Satisfaction Survey (JSS) and Caring Behavior Inventory (CBI- 24). The data were analyzed using rank Spearman and multiple linear regression. Results: Job satisfaction had a positive correlation with the caring behavior of nurses (p=0.003; r=0.266). Furthermore, there were four job satisfaction dimensions namely supervision, contingent rewards, co-workers, nature of work and communication dimensions were positively correlated with nurses’ caring behavior (p<0.05) while salary, promotion, benefits, operating procedure dimensions are not related to nurse’s caring behavior (p>0.05). Conclusions: Caring behavior of nurses is influenced by job satisfaction. Therefore, it is necessary to provide supervision, contingent rewards, empowerment, collaboration program for the nurses to reconstruct the nursing working environment to be healthier and increase the caring behavior of nurses. Nurses who are providing nursing care to patients in the hospital are nurses who have a caring attitude. Nurses' caring behavior will allow the establishment of a harmonious interpersonal relationship between nurse-patient and meet patient needs, which can provide satisfaction to patients. The presurvey results in the working area of the in-patient public health center in Ketapang of North Lampung Regency show that the average number of hospitalized patients during the last three months has decreased. The research objective was to determine the correlation between caring nurse behavior and patient satisfaction at the in-patient public health center's working area in Ketapang of North Lampung Regency 2020. This type of research is quantitative, with a crosssectional approach. This research population was all patients who received services at the working area of the in-patient public health center in Ketapang of North Lampung Regency totaling 3382 patients. The sample was 98 people using the accidental sampling technique. Data collection used a questionnaire. The data analysis used was chi-square. The results showed most of the caring behavior in the good category was 52 respondents (53.1%); most of them were satisfied with 56 respondents (57.1%). There is a correlation between caring nurse behavior and patient satisfaction at the in-patient public health center's working area in Ketapang of North Lampung Regency 2020 (p-value 0.018). Suggestions to the working area of in-patient public health center in Ketapang of North Lampung Regency improve caring behavior, from every aspect, especially the part that the patient considers terrible. Health professionals' behavior play a vital role in the care patient for it has been assumed that effective behavior promotes a caring relationship leading to an outcome that is therapeutic to both. The purpose of this study was to ascertain the caring behavior demonstrated by the health professionals based on the perspectives of allied health students and its propositions to clinical practice though patients' point of view. Sequential Explanatory Strategy of the mixed method research design was employed where survey and conduct of key informant interview were the strategies employed in the collection of data. Weighted means were used to represent how caring behavior was demonstrated by the health professionals. Independent T-test was utilized to validate the difference of caring behavior demonstrated while thematic data analysis for the data collected during interviews. It was found that caring behaviors of health professionals were demonstrated the same and has no difference. Indeed, caring behavior of academicians is an essential element in developing a learner's personality as future health professional. Background: Clinical instructors are the key mediators in helping students conquer clinical experiences by preparing them for clinical workplaces. The caring behavior of instructors plays an important role in the instructor‐student relationship. Objective: This study aimed to (a) assess the perception of nursing students of clinical instructors' caring behavior and (b) explore the correlation between their perception of instructors' caring behavior and their self‐efficacy. Design: A quantitative descriptive correlation design was adopted. Setting: The sample was collected from the faculty of nursing at a major governmental university for females in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Participants: A sample of nursing students (N = 200) was recruited. Methods: The data were collected using the inventory for nursing students' perceptions of instructor caring (NSPIC) and general self‐efficacy (GSE) scale. Descriptive and inferential statistics, such as Pearson r correlation and regression analysis, were used. Results: The total mean of NSPIC was moderate to high (mean = 3.06, SD = 1.04). The level of GSE among students was high (mean = 3.45, SD = 0.849). NSPIC is significantly correlated with its GSE (r =.282). In addition, GSE turned out to be a major indicator of caring behavior, with P =.021 and R2 = 0.642. Conclusion: Caring relationships between clinical instructors and nursing students enable students to grow as caring professionals. Background: Nursing care behavior and nurse's perception of effective care behavior is an act, conduct, and mannerism enacted by professional nurses that convey concern, safety, and attention to the patient. Behavior associated with caring has a paramount role in linking nursing interaction to the client in experiences but, the concept is ambiguous and elusive toward different scholars to reach on common understanding. Only a few studies have been done on the caring behavior and associated factors globally, and no study was done in this study area. Therefore; the purpose of this study was to assess caring behavior and its associated factors among nurses working in Jimma University specialized hospital, southwest Ethiopia. Methods: An institutional-based cross-sectional study design was conducted on a sample of 224 nurses working in Jimma university specialized hospital from March 20–April 20, 2019. Data were collected by a self-administered questionnaire. Descriptive statistics including frequency table, mean, standard deviation and percentage were employed. Bivariate and multiple linear regression analysis was used with regression coefficient (β), coefficient of the determinant (R2), CI 95% and p < 0.05 were used for statistical significance. Results: The overall proportion of nurses caring behavior was 80.3% which was mostly measured in terms of professional –technical (82.9%) and psychosocial (81.3%) dimension. Job satisfaction as personal satisfaction (beta = 1.12, p = 0.00), professional satisfaction, (beta = 1.07, p = 0.00), joint participation in caring process (beta = 0.58, p = 0.00,) satisfaction with nurse management (beta = 0.85, p = 00) were significantly associated with caring behavior. Conclusion: The proportion of nurses who had a high perception of caring behavior was found to be lower. Thus, all predictors have their own effect on enhancing job satisfaction, improving and creating conducive management and working environment to increase caring behavior. Purpose: The aim of this study was to determine the psychometric properties of the Turkish version of the Nursing Students' Perceptions of Instructor Caring (NSPIC‐Tr) Scale. Design and Methods: Methodological study. The sample of this study consisted of 344 nursing students. Findings: Its four‐factor structure was confirmed with explanatory factor analysis (EFA) and confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) results. The results of CFA showed that the scale's fit index supported the EFA. The scale's Cronbach's alpha internal consistency coefficient had high reliability. Background: Caring for a critical ill patient are challenges for nurses. The nurse is required to deliver comprehensive nursing care including mental, psychological and physical. Caring behavior of nurse is influenced by several factors both internal and external. Objectives: This study aimed was to examine the relationship between nursing supervision, spirituality, caring efficacy, emotional quotation, work stress and working periods with caring behavior while deliver care for a critical patient. Methods: Cross-sectional design was used with the number of participants were 66 nurses. Data were collected in July 2018 in three wards: emergency room, HCU, and ICU in dr. DradjatPrawiranegara Hospital, Banten. Instruments used were the Spiritual Orientation Inventory questionnaires, Manchester Clinical Supervision Scale, Caring Behavior Assessment, and Caring Efficacy Scale which were modified and tested for validity and reliability. Data were analyzed using multivariate linear regressions. Results: The results showed that there were significant relationships between nursing supervision (r = 0.511; p <0.01), spirituality (r = 0.448; p <0.01), caring efficacy (r = 0.433; p <0.01) and emotional intelligence (r = 0.419; p <0.01) with nurse caring behavior in care critical patients (p <0.001). There was no significant relationship between Work Period and work stress with caring behavior (p> 0.05). Final statistical analysis by using multiple regression showed that nursing supervision (Beta = 0.434; p <0.01), spirituality (Beta = 0.312; p <0.01) and caring efficacy (Beta = 0.297; p <0.01) were recognized as predictors of nurse's caring behavior in care critical patient ward. Conclusion: The Increasing of nursing supervision as an external effort and developing activities are expected to improve spirituality and caring efficacy of nurse is needed to improve nurse's caring behavior in caring for a critical patient. Patient satisfaction can be influenced by the caring behavior of nurses. Nurses who have a concern in providing nursing care to patients in the hospital are caring nurses. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between caring behavior of nurses and the level of satisfaction of inpatients at Bhayangkara Hospital. This research used a descriptive correlation with a cross-sectional study design. The research was conducted at inpatients wards of Bhayangkara Hospital. The population was inpatients with the number of samples of 88 respondents included by accidental sampling technique. Data obtained by using a questionnaire and analyzed by using Chi-Square. The results showed that there were 27 people (30,7%) who had fewer nurses caring behavior in the inpatient ward of Bhayangkara Hospital while There were 61 people (69,3%) with the good category. Patient satisfaction at inpatient ward of Bhayangkara hospital which less satisfied were 12 people (13,6%). Meanwhile, there were 76 satisfied respondents (86,4%). Nursing is the study of the human science of persons and human health-illness and their experiences that are mediated by professional, personal, scientific, aesthetic, and ethical human care transactions. Humanistic caring has long as been studied in nursing since it was introduced by Watson in the history of the nursing. This study aimed to determine the caring behaviors of Indonesian nurses (CBIN) at hospitals in Indonesia. A CBINT was developed in order to provide Indonesian Nurses a tool specifically tailored to measure their CB. Using a fourth-phase approach, the researcher first gathered qualitative data by interview. (Phase 1); and used the qualitative data to construct the caring behavior instrument (Phase 2); the caring behavior tool which was subsequently administered to a sample population was conducted then (Phase 3); the developed tool was administered to 500 nurses (Phase 4). Considering the two phases: the qualitative data were collected and analyzed informed by using thematic analysis. For the quantitative data; 1) Frequency and percentage were utilized for the analysis of the participants profile; 2) Total score was used to analyze the extent of Caring Behaviors of Indonesian Nurses; 3) T-test and ANOVA was utilized to determine the significant difference in the extent of caring behaviors when grouped according to the participants profile variable. The participants of this study were selected registered nurses from five seasoned hospitals in Indonesia specifically in North Sumatra, South Sulawesi, Central Java, West Kalimantan (Borneo) and East Nusa Tenggara. All the hospitals were composed of nurses who have nursing licenses and have experienced working in the hospital for three (3) years. The researcher interviewed 25 nurses from the different hospitals to get the qualitative data. There were 500 nurses who responded the Caring Behavior of Indonesian Nurses Tool (CBINT). Inclusion criteria to determine the participants included: male or female Indonesian nurses, diploma or BSN graduates; nurses from the 5 islands of Indonesia; at least with one year or more experience as nurse; nurses working in private/government hospitals; nurses working in the 5 areas in Medical, Surgical, Gynecology & Obstetrics, and Pediatrics department. This study was conducted in April-July 2018. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling based on the inclusion criteria that was determined by the amount of sample 500 people. Based on the T-test and ANOVA There is no significant difference in the extent to which the caring behaviors are manifested when grouped according to profile variables. The CBIN is high but need some enhancement to be able to enhance their nursing practice. The CBIN is affected by their personal communication issue, the patients issue of treatment and financial. The quality of nursing care services in Indonesia need to be improved particularly in caring behavior aspect. One cause for this factor is a lack of caring behaviour. Caring behavior as a form of nursing care toward the patient is described as an act that cares for or respects humanity in relation to those who are unable to meet their needs. This was an observational study with a cross-sectional design. Four inpatient rooms were utilized in this study, and each inpatient room was represented by the head nurse and associate nurse. The data obtained using the questionnaire instrument was analysed using Multinomial Logistic Regression (α = 0,05). The results showed that the majority of the Head nurses of the inpatient rooms (37.5%) applying the selling leadership style. The nurse associate’s maturity level was M3 (42.5%) and M2 (32.5%). Caring behaviour was mostly moderate (45%). The selling leadership style is the most applied leadership style conducted by the head nurse. The head nurses are less appropriate when it comes to applying the leadership style as it is related to the maturity level of the associate nurses, M3. A good level of caring behaviour is influenced by the leadership. The caring behaviour of the associate nurses can be improved by changing the style of the selling leadership into a participating leadership style, which is more appropriate when paired the maturity level of the nurse associate. This study aimed to describe intrapersonal characteristics (professional values, personality, empathy, and job involvement), work performance as perceived by nurses, and caring behaviors as perceived by patients, and to examine the relationships among these variables. A cross‐sectional design was employed. A sample was recruited of 218 nurses and 116 patients in four private hospitals and four public hospitals. Data were collected using self‐report measures. Data analysis included descriptive statistics, exploratory and confirmatory factor analyses, hierarchical linear modelling, correlations, and structural equation modeling. Nurses perceived their work performance to be of high quality. Among the intrapersonal characteristics, nurses had high scores for professional values, and moderately high scores for personality, empathy and job involvement. Patients perceived nurses' caring behaviors as moderately high. Professional values of nurses were the only selected intrapersonal characteristic with a statistically significant positive relationship, of practical importance, with work performance as perceived by nurses and with caring behaviors as perceived by patients at ward level. Managers can enhance nurses' work performance and caring behaviors through provision of in‐service training that focuses on development of professional values. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Purpose The aim of this study was to identify perceptions of caring behaviors in student nurses from four countries. Methods This study employed a descriptive, comparative survey design. Four hundred sixty-seven students were recruited from four countries ( Nigeria, India, Greece, and the Philippines) to participate in the study during the months of September 2013 to January 2014. Data were collected using the Caring Behavior Inventory. Findings The highest ranked subscale was 'assurance of human presence' (4.827 ± 0.927), while 'positive connectedness' (4.610 ± 0.949) was the lowest ranked subscale. There were no statistically significant correlations between the Caring Behavior Inventory scale and gender ( F = 0.215, p = .643), educational level ( F = 0.396, p = .529), and family structure of students ( F = 0.680, p = .410), except for age ( F = 9.380, p = .002, η2 = 0.141) and the country of origin ( F = 5.772, p = .001, η2 = 0.036). Conclusion Students from four countries possess positive caring behaviors, specifically on physically based caring interventions, while there is a need to emphasize expressive caring behaviors during nursing education and training. Implication for Nursing Practice Caring interventions should be carried out in order to help students build or enhance their caring behaviors that can be adapted to clinical situations. Background: Promoting respect and dignity is a key component of providing quality care during facility-based childbirth and is becoming a critical indicator of maternal health care. Providing quality care requires essential skills and attitudes from healthcare providers, as their role is central to optimizing interventions in maternity settings. Methods: In 13 facilities in Kenya we conducted a mixed methods, pre-post study design to assess health providers' perspectives of a multi-component intervention (the Heshima project), which aimed to mitigate aspects of disrespect and abuse during facility-based childbirth. Providers working in maternity units at study facilities were interviewed using a two-part quantitative questionnaire: an interviewer-guided section on knowledge and practice, and a self-administered section focusing on intrinsic value systems and perceptions. Eleven distinct composite scores were created on client rights and care, provider emotional wellbeing, and work environments. Bivariate analyses compared pre- and post-scores. Qualitative in-depth interviews focused on underlying factors that affected provider attitudes and behaviors including the complexities of service delivery, and perceptions of the Heshima interventions. Results: Composite scales were developed on provider knowledge of client rights (Chronbach a = 0.70), client-centered care (a = 0.80), and HIV care (a = 0.81); providers' emotional health (a = 0.76) and working relationships (a = 0.88); and provider perceptions of management (a = 0.93), job fairness (a = 0.68), supervision (a = 0.84), promotion (a = 0.83), health systems (a = 0.85), and work environment (a = 0.85). Comparison of baseline and endline individual item scores and composite scores showed that provider knowledge of client rights and practice of a rights-based approach, treatment of clients living with HIV, and client-centered care during labor, delivery, and postnatal periods improved (p < 0.001). Changes in emotional health, perceptions of management, job fairness, supervision, and promotion seen in composite scores did not directly align with changes in item-specific responses. Qualitative data reveal health system challenges limit the translation of providers' positive attitudes and behaviors into implementation of a rights-based approach to maternity care. Conclusion: Behavior change interventions, central to promoting respectful care, are feasible to implement, as seen in the Heshima experience, but require sustained interaction with health systems where providers practice.
