Transplantation of chondrocytes utilizing a polymer-cell construct to produce tissue-engineered cartilage in the shape of a human ear. In the 90s, Tissue Engineering was introduced to repair biological tissue by application of cell- and/or biomaterial-based engineered constructs. An efficient regenerative treatment for degenerative lesions is still controversial because autologous chondrocyte transplantation is a technique which is introduced for traumatic cartilage defects.
