This survey explores the transformative impact of foundation models (FMs) in artificial intelligence, focusing on their integration with federated learning (FL) in biomedical research. Foundation models such as ChatGPT, LLaMa, and CLIP, which are trained on vast datasets through methods including unsupervised pretraining, self-supervised learning, instructed fine-tuning, and reinforcement learning from human feedback, represent significant advancements in machine learning. These models, with their ability to generate coherent text and realistic images, are crucial for biomedical applications that require processing diverse data forms such as clinical reports, diagnostic images, and multimodal patient interactions. The incorporation of FL with these sophisticated models presents a promising strategy to harness their analytical power while safeguarding the privacy of sensitive medical data. This approach not only enhances the capabilities of FMs in medical diagnostics and personalized treatment but also addresses critical concerns about data privacy and security in healthcare. This survey reviews the current applications of FMs in federated settings, underscores the challenges, and identifies future research directions including scaling FMs, managing data diversity, and enhancing communication efficiency within FL frameworks. Objectives: To develop a deep learning-based automatic segmentation method for cortex and marrow in mandibular condyle on cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) images and explore its clinical application. Methods: 825 condyles of 490 CBCT images from 3 centers of Stomatology hospital affliated to Zhejiang University School of Medicine were collected. A deep learning model was developed for simultaneous segmentation of cortex and marrow in mandibular condyle. It included a region of interest extraction network and a segmentation network based on 3D U-net, with modifications made to improve the segmentation boundaries. To evaluate its clinical potential, the model's segmentation efficiency and accuracy were compared with those of both junior and senior oral and maxillofacial radiologists. Additionally, the model's ability to assist junior radiologists in diagnosis through visualization and quantitative analysis of the generated 3D model was also assessed. Results: The Dice similarity coefficient of the deep learning model was 0.901 (cortex), 0.969 (marrow), and 0.982 (entire condyle). Hausdorff distance was 0.755 mm (cortex), 0.826 mm (marrow), and 0.760 mm (entire condyle). The model outperformed radiologists across all segmentation metrics, completing the task in merely 15.06 s. With the assistance of visualization and quantitative analysis generated from the model's segmentation, the diagnostic accuracy of junior radiologists significantly improved. Conclusions: The proposed deep learning-based model achieved accurate and efficient segmentation for mandibular condylar cortex and marrow. It possessed capability to generate precise 3D models, facilitating visual quantitative measurement and aiding in the diagnosis of condylar bony changes. Atherosclerosis (AS) is a chronic inflammatory disease of arteries. Endothelial inflammation is key to the initiation and development of AS. The calcium‐sensing receptor (CaSR) is expressed in endothelial cells (ECs) but its role in endothelial inflammation during AS remains unclear. This study focused on the involvement of CaSR in regulating endothelial inflammation and its underlying mechanisms, providing novel insights for AS therapy. Here, we observed that CaSR agonist NPS‐R568 significantly reduced atherosclerotic lesions and aortic inflammation in high‐fat diet (HFD)‐fed ApoE−/− mice, while enhancing the expression of CaSR in aortic tissues. In vitro, human umbilical vein endothelial cells (HUVECs) exposed to oxidized low‐density lipoprotein (oxLDL) at 20 μg·mL−1 triggered inflammation, as indicated by the upregulation of vascular cell adhesion molecule‐1 (VCAM‐1), interleukin (IL)‐6, and IL‐1β expression, along with increased adherence of THP‐1 or U937 cells to the HUVECs. Additionally, treatment with 20 μg·mL−1 oxLDL led to downregulation of CaSR expression in HUVECs. The administration of CaSR agonist NPS‐R568 or overexpression of CaSR in HUVECs resulted in a significant reversal of inflammation induced by oxLDL. Mechanistically, CaSR was found to mitigate NLRP3 inflammasome activation by downregulating the protein level of integrin β1. In conclusion, our study elucidates the beneficial role of CaSR in reducing endothelial inflammation in AS through the regulation of integrin β1 and the subsequent NLRP3 inflammasome. Effective identification of dynamic loads on vehicle systems is crucial for evaluating the structural integrity of railway vehicles. The inverse problem method has been proposed for dynamic load identification to determine the impact load on the carbody. Due to the sparse nature of the impact load, the combination of the l1-norm and TwIST (two-step iterative threshold shrinkage method) methods is used to reconstruct the impact load, taking into account the influence of sensor placement on the identification results. The MOHBA (Multi-objective Optimisation Honey Badger Algorithm) was proposed to simultaneously select the regularisation and iteration parameters. This algorithm aims to improve the accuracy of subsequence load reconstruction by considering the influence of noise levels when selecting the measured data. The impact load experiment was conducted on the scale carbody, and the single-point impact load and multi-point impact load matched well with the actual load. Satisfactory load identification results can still be achieved when the noise level is within 15%. The heat generation problem of axle box bearing during churning phase leads to abnormal temperature rise and temperature alarm, which affects the normal operation of high-speed train. Aiming at this problem, the temperature characteristics of bearing initial lubrication phase is studied, and the multi-speed grade cycle running schemes are used in tests to run multiple bearings for multiple times. The temperature data and friction data in tests are collected by using non-destructive testing method, and characteristic extraction is carried out. Under the premise of not destroying the internal structure and lubrication state of the bearing, the lubrication state inside the bearing is reflected by the change of the characteristic values. A 118 min scheme is proposed, and the bearing using this scheme to run on the test rig is used in the actual operation. The results show that the temperature of the bearing with running-in test is lower than that of the bearing without running-in test, which indicates the effectiveness of the proposed temperature control strategy. Early disease diagnosis hinges on the sensitive detection of signaling molecules. Among these, hydrogen sulfide (H2S) has emerged as a critical player in cardiovascular and nervous system signaling. On-chip immunoassays, particularly nanoarray-based interfacial detection, offer promising avenues for ultra-sensitive analysis due to their confined reaction volumes and precise signal localization. Beyond the DNA or protein biomolecules array, this work presents a promising hybrid small molecule nano-array for H2S detection, using the power of dual molecules: a dye for fluorescence emission and a quencher with specific H2S reactivity. Upon H2S interaction, the quenched fluorescence reignites, creating an easily detectable array of bright spots. The molecule nano-array sensor shows exceptional responses to H2S over 8 magnitudes of dynamic range from 1 fM to 0.1 μM, with a remarkable detection limit of 1 fM, just using a 10 μL solution. This H2S detection method has the potential to significantly improve bioassay platforms, and the hybrid small-molecule nano-arrays we developed could be a valuable tool for advancing signaling molecule detection. A high-sensitivity turn-on fluorescence H2S sensor has been developed via hybrid molecule nano-array. At present, in the dynamic modeling of rolling bearings with composite faults, Hertz contact theory is mostly used to describe the contact between the rolling element and the raceway, while ignoring the influence of lubricating oil film under elastohydrodynamic lubrication (EHL) on key modeling parameters, which brings errors to the accurate calculation of parameters such as stiffness and damping. On the basis of composite fault modeling, this article carefully considers the influence of EHL on the stiffness and damping of rolling bearings, establishes a five degree‐of‐freedom (DOF) composite fault model of rolling bearings, and verifies the correctness of the model through bench test data. The vibration response characteristics of rolling bearings with composite faults under different loads and fault sizes are mainly studied. The results indicate that the frequency‐domain characteristics of composite faults are the result of coupling and superimposing the frequency‐domain characteristics of single‐point fault signals. As the radial load increases, the amplitude of the vibration response also increases gradually. In the inner ring–outer ring composite fault and the outer ring–rolling element composite fault, the outer ring fault is more sensitive to change in radial load. If the radial load is appropriately increased, it is beneficial to identify the outer ring fault in both kinds of composite faults. However, excessive radial loads may inhibit the diagnosis of other fault frequencies other than the outer ring, which may affect the diagnosis of all components in the composite fault. In the inner ring–rolling element composite fault, the inner ring fault is more sensitive to change in radial load. If the radial load is appropriately increased, it is beneficial to identify the inner ring fault in the inner ring–rolling element composite fault. Polydispersed Ag species-modified TiO2 samples with abundant oxygen vacancies were successfully prepared through the calcination of atomically precise Ag33 nanocluster-loaded TiO2 at an optimal temperature under a nitrogen atmosphere. The ligands of the Ag33 nanoclusters are removed by extracting lattice oxygen from TiO2 during the calcination, leading to the formation of CO2, SO2, and H2O vapor. This process simultaneously induces Ag species sintering on the surface of TiO2. The resulting nanocomposites exhibited excellent catalytic activity for the reduction of nitroarenes with NaBH4 as the reductant. Soil salinity poses a significant environmental challenge for the growth and development of blueberries. However, the specific mechanisms by which blueberries respond to salt stress are still not fully understood. Here, we employed a comprehensive approach integrating physiological, metabolomic, and transcriptomic analyses to identify key metabolic pathways in blueberries under salt stress. Our findings indicate that blueberries primarily adapt to salt stress by modulating pathways associated with carbohydrate metabolism, organic acid metabolism, amino acid metabolism, and various organic compounds. Key metabolites involved in this response include sucrose, propionic acid, and palmitic acid. A total of 241 transcription factors were differentially expressed, with significant involvement from families such as AP2, Dof, GATA, WRKY, and TCP. Notably, the galactose metabolism pathway was associated with 5 DAMs and 24 DEGs, while the starch and sucrose metabolism pathway contained 5 DAMs and 23 DEGs, highlighting their crucial roles in mitigating salt stress. Overexpression of VcGolS3 in transgenic Arabidopsis conferred tolerance to salt and drought stresses, primarily evidenced by a significant increase in GolS enzyme activity and reduced ROS accumulation. This study provides valuable insights into the molecular mechanisms underlying the blueberry response to salt stress and lays the groundwork for breeding salt- and drought-tolerant blueberry varieties.Key message: The key gene VcGolS3 involved in blueberry stress resistance was screened through a combined analysis of transcriptomics and metabolomics, and it was confirmed that the gene plays an important role in plant resistance to salt and drought stresses. Heterocyclic fluoroalkylation is initiated through a photochemical reaction involving an electron donor–acceptor complex. The reaction proceeds smoothly without requiring a photocatalyst, transition metal catalyst or additional oxidant. Through extensive experiments, we optimised the heterocyclic fluoroalkylation method and confirmed its versatility and effectiveness on various substrates. The process synthesises fluoroalkylated quinoxalinones and indolones with high efficiency and was successfully extended to gram‐scale applications, highlighting its practical utility. Detailed mechanistic analyses, supported by density functional theory calculations elucidated the role of the electron donor–acceptor complexes and deciphered the distinct radical chain reaction mechanism inherent in the halogen‐atom transfer pathway. Most recently, metro rigid overhead wire-pantograph systems are subjected to severe wear of overhead wires and current collectors throughout China, which are difficult to completely solve up to now. The severe wear of metro rigid overhead wire-pantograph systems is probably brought about by the medium-high frequency vibration of the metro rigid overhead wire-pantograph systems. Coincidentally, corrugation is frequently found in rigid overhead wire systems, but rarely in flexible catenary systems. A frictional self-excited vibration model of a rigid overhead wire-pantograph system was set up. The self-excited vibration characteristics were investigated using the transient analysis and the motion stability analysis. Results show that when the friction coefficient is greater than 0.07, the rigid overhead wire-pantograph system is more prone to self-excited vibration. The self-excited vibration frequencies cover a range of 20–1000 Hz. The simulated overhead wire corrugation approaches the measured corrugation in wavelength. The influence factor analysis displays that the friction coefficient, zigzag layout of rigid catenary wires, and sliding direction of pantographs have significant effects on overhead wire corrugation, and but the train speed, normal force, main spring stiffness, and span of two positioning clips have a little effect. A blood glucose concentration and temperature sensor with a balloon-shaped single-mode fiber (SMF) based on a core-offset structure is proposed and experimentally demonstrated. The balloon-shaped SMF is created by offset-fusing a straight-line SMF between two other SMFs, thereby forming a Mach–Zehnder interferometer (MZI). The core-offset structure can effectively excite higher-order cladding modes. The experimental results showed that the maximum sensitivity of blood glucose concentration was 0.331 nm/(mmol/l) and the maximum sensitivity of temperature was 0.216 nm/°C when the offset distance was 10 μm. Dual-parameter measurement was achieved through a dual-parameter matrix. In addition, the sensor has characteristics such as simple structure, low cost, good stability, and electromagnetic interference resistance, making it potentially valuable for diagnosing high blood glucose and related conditions. Generating highly organized skeletal muscle tissues that mimics the cellular alignment, maturation, and contraction of native skeletal muscle remains a challenge in disease modeling and regenerative therapies. Existing methodologies are constrained by complexity in fabrication and difficulty in achieving aligned 3D myofibers. Here, a functional skeletal muscle organoid‐on‐a‐chip (SMO) is engineered by establishing mechanical boundary constraints at either end of the cell‐laden extracellular matrix hydrogel within polydimethylsiloxane microstructures to promote the formation of an anisotropic biophysical microenvironment in tissues. The linearly aligned tissue, featuring multinucleated myofibers with distinct cross‐striations, exhibited a positive force‐frequency relationship and stable calcium transients under electrical stimulation. SMOs applicability is demonstrated by systematically evaluating muscle response to varying degrees of intermittent hypoxia. Murine‐ or human‐derived SMOs revealed that, with increasing hypoxia severity, muscles transitioned from a compensatory phase‐characterized by enhanced contractile function, vacuolation and hypertrophic‐like changes in myofibers, fiber type switching, and metabolic shift, to a decompensatory stage, paralleling in vivo muscle responses and highlighting interspecies differences. Human‐derived SMOs are also utilized to assess self‐repair capabilities and pharmaceuticals protective effects on damaged muscle. Together, the platform, with its simplicity of operation and reliable phenotypic readouts, demonstrates significant potential for future disease modeling and regenerative therapies. The ability to change lanes safely, efficiently, and comfortably is an important prerequisite for the application of Connected‐Automated Vehicles (CAVs). Based on the five‐order polynomial trajectory planning for CAVs, the 2D‐Action Asynchronous Lane Change (AALC) trajectory planning model is constructed by further considering the longitudinal and lateral driving action execution time parameters. This is done to improve the applicability of the lane change model and increase the CAV lane change success rate. The continuous collision space algorithm is constructed by determining the continuity condition of collision trajectory parameter solution space through the monotonicity of trajectory curve parameters and collision form classification. AALC trajectory safety judgment is realized through this algorithm. A cooperative lane change trajectory evaluation objective function is constructed, considering multivehicle comfort and efficiency. Finally, the AALC model is solved in the continuous collision space according to the optimal objective function, and the lane change is divided into free, cooperative, and refused according to the optimization. The results indicate that the AALC model achieves the transfer of collision space between lanes through asynchronous process of behavior execution time window, thereby reducing the possibility of vehicle collision. The AALC model reduces the degree of change of cooperative lane change parameters by asynchronous process of behavior, increasing the number of free lane change trajectories by about 17%, effectively reducing the occurrence of lane change refusal, improving the successful rate of lane change, and enhancing the overall evaluation of the lane change. The AALC model realizes the reallocation of collision space between different lanes through asynchronous process, making it more suitable for environments with large differences in vehicle gaps such as ramp merging. The collision‐based trajectory optimization algorithm can quickly obtain the corresponding safety space and optimal trajectory. The temperature of axle box bearing is always one of the indicators used to monitor whether the high-speed train is running safely. In this paper, a thermal model of axle box bearing considering the change of bearing lubrication state and the operating condition of the high-speed train was established. Based on the analysis of the generation mechanism of frictional heat inside the bearing, the influence of proportion of grease involved in lubrication was introduced for the first time and a detailed temperature transfer system of the axle box system was established. At the same time, through the axle box bearing-vehicle system dynamics model, the vertical and lateral loads of the axle box bearing under different operating condition were obtained as input parameters of the axle box bearing thermal model, the temperature distribution curve of the bearing under different operating conditions was obtained. Finally, based on the long-term wireless transmission device system (WTDS) temperature monitoring data, the calculation results of the established model were verified. The verification results showed the reliability of the model established in this paper, and showed the necessity of considering the change of the internal lubrication state of the bearing when evaluating the axle box bearing temperature. The train operating speed is traditionally limited to lower than 0.7 times the critical speed of the catenary. The material's strength limits the tensile forces of the tension wires, preventing the further improvement of the train speed. A novel super-critical speed operating strategy of the pantograph catenary system (PCS) is proposed, using the relatively low tensile values of the catenary to make the pantograph run at a speed ratio larger than 1. The analytical results of a string under a moving load show the theoretical possibility of the super-critical speed operating strategy in moving load problems. The finite element method (FEM) is adopted for the model of the catenary. The differences between the simple catenary and the stitched catenary running at the super-critical speed regime are compared. Then, the tensile forces designation of the stitched catenary with different speed ratio values beyond 400 km/h is studied. Finally, the dynamic behaviours of the PCS reaching the super-critical speed regime are discussed, consisting of the continuous acceleration process and the transition process from the high-tension section to the low-tension section. Axle-box bearings are directly affected by wheel–rail impacts as fixedly connected to wheelset. As an inevitable wheel-failure, wheel flat can cause severe wheel-rail impact, which may deteriorate the performance of axle-box bearings, even threatening train running safety. To investigate the dynamic response of axle-box bearings excited by wheel flat, two rigid-flexible coupled vehicle dynamics models of motor and trailer cars are developed. The axle-box bearing, flexible axle-box and wheelset are thoroughly established in trailer car model. The gear transmission system and flexible gearbox are further integrated into motor car model relative to trailer model. The accuracies of models are verified by the field-test results. The dynamic responses of axle-box bearings excited by wheel flat are analyzed. Results indicate that the vibration and dynamic forces acting on axle-box bearing augment with the increasing of flat length. The vibrations intensify gradually from wheelset, inner ring, and outer ring to axle-box, particularly increasing significantly with long flat lengths. Moreover, the dynamic forces within axle-box bearing first increase before decreasing with the growing operating speed. Being structurally difference, wheel flat exerts more significant effects on the axial and radial forces within the bearings of motor car than those of trailer car. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Cauliflower is a distinct subspecies of the Brassica oleracea plants due to its specialized and edible floral organ. Cauliflower curd is composed of enlarged inflorescence meristems that developed by a series of precise molecular regulations. Based solely on the curd solidity, cauliflower is generally classified into two groups (compact-curd and loose-curd), where curd branch length acts as a crucial parameter to determine the curd morphological difference. Herein, to understand the genetic basis of curd branch development, we utilized a total of 298 inbred lines representing two groups of cauliflower to comprehensively investigate the causal genes and regulatory mechanisms. Phylogenetic and population structure analyses revealed that two subgroups could be further categorized into the compact-curd and the loose-curd groups, respectively. Integrating the genotype and phenotype data, we conducted a genome-wide association study for the length of the outermost branch (LOB) and secondary branch (LSB) of the curd. Sixty-four significant loci were identified that are highly associated with curd branch development. Evidence from genome-wide selective sweep analysis (FST and XP-EHH) narrowed down the major signal on chromosome 8 into an approximately 79 kb region which encodes eleven protein-coding genes. After further analysis of haplotypes, transcriptome profiling, and gene expression validation, we finally inferred that BOB08G028680, as a homologous counterpart of AtARR9, might be the causal gene for simultaneously regulating LOB and LSB traits in cauliflower. Importance: Aicardi–Goutières syndrome (AGS) is a rare genetic disorder mainly affecting the central nervous system and autoimmunity. However, research on AGS among Chinese patients is limited. Objective: To summarize the neurologic phenotypes and genetic causes in pediatric AGS patients, providing insights for early recognition and diagnosis in the Chinese population. Methods: Clinical features and neuroimaging results of the patients diagnosed with AGS from Beijing Children's Hospital between January 2018 and January 2022 were collected. Whole exome sequencing was used for genetic analysis. Results: A total of 15 patients was included, all presenting with various neurological symptoms, including developmental delay (100%), motor skill impairment (100%), language disability (78.6%), dystonia (93.3%), microcephaly (73.3%), sleep disorders (26.7%), regression (20.0%), vessel disease (6.7%), and epilepsy (6.7%). Neuroimaging revealed intracranial calcification (86.7%), cerebral atrophy (73.3%), and leukodystrophy (73.3%). Seven genes were identified, with TREX1 being the most common (40.0%, 6/15), followed by IFIH1 (20.0%, 3/15). Variant c.294dupA (p.C99Mfs*3) was detected in four unrelated patients, accounting for 66.7% (4/6) patients with the TREX1 variant. A literature review showed that TREX1 gene mutations in 35.6% (21/59) of AGS patients among the Chinese population. Interpretation: Neurological symptoms are the most prevalent and severe presentation of AGS. Diagnosis may be considered when symptoms such as developmental delay, dystonia, microcephaly, brain calcification, and leukodystrophy emerge. Aims: Spinal cord injuries (SCI) pose persistent challenges in clinical practice due to the secondary injury. Drawing from our experience in spinal cord fusion (SCF), we propose vascularized allogeneic spinal cord transplantation (vASCT) as a novel approach for SCI, much like organ transplantation has revolutionized organ failure treatment and vascularized composite‐tissue allotransplantation has addressed limb defects. Materials and Methods: In this study, 24 dogs were paired and underwent vASCT, with donor spinal cord grafts and polyethylene glycol (PEG) application for SCF. The experimental group (n = 8) received tacrolimus and methylprednisolone, while the control group (n = 4) received only methylprednisolone. Safety and efficacy of vASCT were evaluated through electrophysiology, imaging, and 6‐month follow‐up. Results: The experimental group showed substantial recovery in hind limb motor function. Imaging revealed robust survival of spinal cord grafts and restoration of spinal cord continuity. In contrast, the control group maintained hind limb paralysis, with imaging confirming spinal cord graft necrosis and extensive defects. Electrophysiologically, the experimental group exhibited restored motor evoked potential signal conduction postoperatively, unlike the control group. Notably, PEG application during vASCT led to signal conduction recovery in intraoperative spinal cord evoked potential examinations for all dogs. Conclusion: In the vASCT surgical model, the combination of PEG with tacrolimus has demonstrated the ability to reconstruct spinal cord continuity and restore hind limb motor function in beagles. Notably, a low dose of tacrolimus has also exhibited an excellent anti‐immune rejection effect. Background: Woven coronary artery (WCA) is a rare and underdiagnosed congenital anomaly that involves multiple thin and tortuous epicardial arterial conduits reassembling distally into a single lumen. Recanalized thrombus may present as woven-like coronary arteries, appearing similar to WCA on angiographic images. Case presentation: A 58-year-old female patient with intermittent chest pain for 5 years and polycythaemia vera (PV) for 8 years. The left anterior descending artery was presented like WCA on coronary angiography and finally confirmed as recanalized thrombus by optical coherence tomography(OCT), which might have been caused by PV. Given the patient's high thrombotic risk of PV and thrombotic changes in the left circumflex artery (LCX), we ultimately chose a conservative treatment without stenting. Conclusions: OCT would be needed for the diagnosis and differential diagnosis of woven-like coronary arteries. The vibration signals of rolling bearings under variable speed conditions exhibit time‐varying, nonstationary, and nonlinear characteristics, making it challenging to extract fault features. A fast path optimization‐based multitime‐frequency ridge extraction (FPOMRE) method is proposed in this paper to address the problem. First, the time‐frequency representation of the fault signal is obtained through the adaptive short‐time Fourier transform (STFT), and then the FPOMRE algorithm is used to extract additional ridges below the lowest time‐frequency ridge multiple times. The frequency ratio of each ridge to the additional ridge, the average value of the ratio, and the variance of the ratio are calculated, respectively, and finally, the matching degree between the average ratio and the fault feature coefficient is compared with the diagnosis of the bearing fault. The simulation and experimental results show that the FPOMRE method can effectively diagnose the bearing fault under constant speed and variable speed conditions, and the extraction accuracy of time‐frequency ridges under constant speed is higher than that under variable speed, and the extraction accuracy under high speed is higher than that under low speed. The relative error of extracting rotation frequency under constant speed and variable speed is 0.5% and 1.3%, respectively. In addition, comparing the FPOMRE with the maximum amplitude method (MAM), both FPOMRE and MAM can effectively extract the instantaneous shaft rotation frequency at a constant speed. Enhancing residents' purchasing intention of prepared dishes is crucial for the sustainable development of the prepared dishes industry. Understanding how residents' cognition influences their continuous purchasing intention can provide valuable insight for developing and refining company strategies, thereby reducing industry development obstacles. Based on the theory of distributed cognition, this study utilizes questionnaire data from urban residents in Beijing and Shanghai, and employs Structural Equation Modeling to explore the influence of cognition on the continuous purchasing intention of Chinese urban residents towards prepared dishes. The study results reveal that: (1) Individual power and geographical power have a significant positive effect on residents' continuous purchasing intention for prepared dishes, while cultural power does not have a significant effect. (2) Risk perception partially mediates the effect of individual power and geographical power on continuous purchasing intention and fully mediates the effect of cultural power on continuous purchasing intention. Recommendations include: (1) The government should enhance standardization and supervision to create a favorable consumption environment; (2) Enterprises should provide more objective and transparent information to improve residents' knowledge of prepared dishes and establish a good reputation. Castanopsis hystrix, a precious tree species in Southeast Asia, has the advantages of rapid growth and high-quality wood materials. However, there are problems such as its long breeding cycle and low efficiency, and being time-consuming, which greatly restricts the industrial development of C. hystrix. Performing genome selection (GS) for growth and wood traits for the early selection of superior progeny has great significance for the rapid breeding of new superior varieties of C. hystrix. We used 226 clones in the main distribution and 479 progenies within 23 half-sib families as experimental materials in this study. Genotyping datasets were obtained by high-throughput re-sequencing technology, and GS studies were conducted on the growth (tree height (H), diameter at breast height (DBH)) and wood (wood density (WD), fiber length (FL), and fiber length–width ratio (LWR)) traits. The coefficient of variation (CV) of five phenotypic traits ranged from 10.1% to 22.73%, the average CV of growth traits was 19.93%, and the average CV of wood traits was 9.72%. The Pearson correlation coefficients between the five traits were almost all significantly positive. Based on the Genomic Best Linear Unbiased Prediction (GBLUP) model, the broad-sense heritabilities of growth traits were higher than those of wood quality traits, and the different number of SNPs had little effect on the heritability estimation. GS prediction accuracy first increased and then reached a plateau at around 3K SNPs for all five traits. The broad-sense heritability of these five traits was significantly positively correlated with their GS predictive ability (r = 0.564, p < 0.001). Bayes models had better GS prediction accuracy than the GBLUP model. The 15 excellent progeny individuals were selected, and their genetic gain ranged from 0.319% to 2.671%. These 15 superior offspring individuals were 4388, 4438, 4407, 4468, 4044, 4335, 4410, 4160, 4212, 4461, 4052, 4014, 4332, 4389, and 4007, mainly from three families F5, F6, and F11. Carbon nanotube field-effect transistors (CNTFETs) are increasingly recognized as a viable option for creating high-performance, low-power, and densely integrated circuits (ICs). Advancements in carbon-based electronics, encompassing materials and device technology, have enabled the fabrication of circuits with over 1000 gates, marking carbon-based integrated circuit design as a burgeoning field of research. A critical challenge in the realm of carbon-based very-large-scale integration (VLSI) is the lack of suitable automated design methodologies and infrastructure platforms. In this study, we present the development of a wafer-scale 3 µm carbon-based complementary metal-oxide-semiconductor (CMOS) process design kit (PDK) (3 µm-CNTFETs-PDK) compatible with silicon-based Electronic Design Automation (EDA) tools and VLSI circuit design flow. The proposed 3 µm-CNTFETs-PDK features a contacted gate pitch (CGP) of 21 µm, a gate density of 128 gates/mm2, and a transistor density of 554 transistors/mm2, with an intrinsic gate delay around 134 ns. Validation of the 3 µm-CNTFETs-PDK was achieved through the successful design and tape-out of 153 standard cells and 333-stage ring oscillator circuits. Leveraging the carbon-based PDK and a silicon-based design platform, we successfully implemented a complete 64-bit static random-access memory (SRAM) circuit system for the first time, which exhibited timing, power, and area characteristics of clock@10 kHz, 122.1 µW, 3795 µm × 2810 µm. This research confirms that carbon-based IC design can be compatible with existing EDA tools and silicon-based VLSI design flow, thereby laying the groundwork for future carbon-based VLSI advancements. A spindle-shaped sensor with temperature insensitivity based on single-mode fiber (SMF) - no-core fiber (NCF) - few-mode fiber (FMF) - NCF - SMF (SNFNS) for refractive index is proposed. An interferometer with SNFNS structure can be formed by fusing, and then the fiber can be shrunk to form a spindle shape through burning, which is known as an SNFNS spindle-shaped sensor. The introduction of NCF and curvature causes partial light transmitted in the core to enter the cladding, which results in the emergence of phase differences. The interference dips formed by modal interference have different sensitivities to the outside refractive index. The experimental results show that the maximum refractive index sensitivity of sensors is 258.5 nm/RIU in the range of 1.333–1.365. And the sensors have the characteristic of temperature insensitivity in the range of 10–70℃. We investigate the fluctuation properties in the eigenfrequency spectra of flat cylindrical microwave cavities that are homogeneously filled with magnetized ferrite. These studies are motivated by experiments in which only small pieces of ferrite were embedded in the cavity and magnetized with an external static magnetic field to induce partial time-reversal ( T ) invariance violation. We use two different shapes of the cavity, one exhibiting an integrable wave dynamics, the other one a chaotic one. We demonstrate that in the frequency region where only transverse-magnetic modes exist, the magnetization of the ferrites has no effect on the wave dynamics and does not induce T -invariance violation whereas it is fully violated above the cutoff frequency of the first transverse-electric mode. Above all, independently of the shape of the resonator, it induces a chaotic wave dynamics in that frequency range in the sense that for both resonator geometries the spectral properties coincide with those of quantum systems with a chaotic classical dynamics and same invariance properties under application of the generalized T operator associated with the resonator geometry. In the current study, we aimed to investigate whether disulfiram (DSF) exerts a neuroprotective role in cerebral ischemiareperfusion (CI-RI) injury by modulating ferredoxin 1 (FDX1) to regulate copper ion (Cu) levels and inhibiting inflammatory responses. To simulate CI-RI, a transient middle cerebral artery occlusion (tMCAO) model in C57/BL6 mice was employed. Mice were administered with or without DSF before and after tMCAO. Changes in infarct volume after tMCAO were observed using TTC staining. Nissl staining and hematoxylin–eosin (he) staining were used to observe the morphological changes of nerve cells at the microscopic level. The inhibitory effect of DSF on initial inflammation was verified by TUNEL assay, apoptosis-related protein detection and iron concentration detection. FDX1 is the main regulatory protein of copper death, and the occurrence of copper death will lead to the increase of HSP70 stress and inflammatory response. Cuproptosis-related proteins and downstream inflammatory factors were detected by western blotting, immunofluorescence staining, and immunohistochemistry. The content of copper ions was detected using a specific kit, while electron microscopy was employed to examine mitochondrial changes. We found that DSF reduced the cerebral infarction volume, regulated the expression of cuproptosis-related proteins, and modulated copper content through down regulation of FDX1 expression. Moreover, DSF inhibited the HSP70/TLR-4/NLRP3 signaling pathway. Collectively, DSF could regulate Cu homeostasis by inhibiting FDX1, acting on the HSP70/TLR4/NLRP3 pathway to alleviate CI/RI. Accordingly, DSF could mitigate inflammatory responses and safeguard mitochondrial integrity, yielding novel therapeutic targets and mechanisms for the clinical management of ischemia–reperfusion injury. A spacing-adjustable and switchable multi-wavelength erbium-doped fiber laser is proposed and analyzed based on the polarization hole burning (PHB) effect. The comb filter consists of multimode fiber–polarization maintaining fiber–multimode fiber (MMF–PMF–MMF). Here the filter is used as the polarization-dependent element to induce the polarization hole burning (PHB) effect. The filter is placed in the laser cavity or embedded into the Sagnac loop. By adjusting the polarization controller (PC) in the cavity, when the filter is placed in the laser cavity, the output wavelengths can be switched from single-wavelength to sextuple-wavelength, and dual-, triple-, quad-, quintuple- and sextuple-wavelength with adjustable wavelength spacing can be obtained. The dual-wavelength has a substantial amount of wavelength spacing adjustability with the range of 3.32 nm to 30.16 nm. When the filter is embedded into the Sagnac loop, the wavelength tuning ranges for single-, dual-, triple- and quad-wavelength are 28.42 nm, 28.10 nm, 18.21 nm and 14.58 nm, respectively. The proposed erbium-doped fiber laser (EDFL) provides a wide range of wavelengths and adjustable spacing, which is suitable for a variety of applications such as optical communication, optical detection and optical signal processing. Heterocyclic trifluoromethylation is efficiently initiated through a photochemical reaction utilizing an electron donor–acceptor (EDA) complex, proceeding smoothly without the use of photocatalysts, transition‐metal catalysts, or additional oxidants. This method has been optimized through extensive experimentation, demonstrating its versatility and efficacy across various substrates, including quinoxalinones, coumarins, and indolones. Notably, this approach enables the practical synthesis of trifluoromethylated quinoxalinones on a gram scale. Mechanistic investigations that incorporate radical trapping and ultraviolet/visible spectroscopy, confirmed the formation of the an EDA complex and elucidated the reaction pathways. In this article, the seismic performance of PVA fibers and HTRB630 steel bars reinforced with high-strength concrete column specimens (FTRHCs) are investigated numerically. Based on the available experimental data, the fiber model is established considering the bond-slip effect and shear deformation of reinforcements. The numerical simulation and test seismic performance indexes of FTRHCs are compared and analyzed. On this basis, the effect of axial load ratio and shear-to-span ratio on the seismic performance indexes of FTRHCs is further investigated. The results indicate that the hysteresis curves and skeleton curves obtained from the numerical simulation are relatively similar to the test results. The simulated seismic performance indexes are not much different from the test results with a relative error below 15%. As the axial load ratio increases, the bearing capacity and cumulative energy-dissipation of the specimen increase, the displacement ductility decreases, and the stiffness degradation improves little. As the shear-to-span ratio increases, the bearing capacity decreases, the displacement ductility increases, the cumulative energy-dissipation capacity increases, and the stiffness degradation changes little. The seismic performance of FTRHCs improves insignificantly as the PVA fiber volume content increases. It is recommended to use PVA fibers with a volume content of 0.5% in the plastic hinge zone of FTRHCs. The established fiber models are of great practical significance for the application of high-strength concrete members reinforced with fibers and high-strength steel bars in building structures. Background: Routine use of immunosuppressive agents in systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) patients infected with severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) potentially increases the risk of adverse outcomes. belimumab, a monoclonal antibody for the treatment of SLE, remains untested for its specific impact on coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) symptoms in these patients. Here, this research investigated the effect of belimumab on COVID-19 symptoms in SLE patients infected with SARS-CoV-2. Methods: This study enrolled SLE patients who underwent treatment with belimumab. After thorough screening based on the inclusion and exclusion criteria, data pertaining to COVID-19 for both the participants and their cohabitants were obtained through telephone follow-up. The potential impact of belimumab on COVID-19 was evaluated by comparing COVID-19 symptoms and medication use across various groups to investigate the association between belimumab treatment and COVID-19 in SLE. Results: This study involved 123 SLE patients, of whom 89.4% tested positive for SARS-CoV-2. Among cohabitants of SLE patients, the SARS-CoV-2 positive rate was 87.2% (p = 0.543). Patients treated with belimumab exhibited a lower incidence of multiple COVID-19 symptoms than their cohabitating counterparts (p < 0.001). This protective effect was found to be partially related to the time of last belimumab administration. Among those with COVID-19, 30 patients opted to discontinue their anti-SLE drugs, and among them, 53% chose to discontinue belimumab. Discontinuing drugs did not increase the risk of hospitalization due to SARS-CoV-2 infection. Conclusion: This study concluded that treatment with belimumab did not increase susceptibility to COVID-19 and beneficially alleviated the symptoms of COVID-19. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Plant pathogenic fungi pose a major threat to global food security, ecosystem services, and human livelihoods. Effective and broad-spectrum fungicides are needed to combat these pathogens. In this study, a novel antifungal 2-oxyacetate hydrazide quinoxaline scaffold as a simple analogue was designed and synthesized. Their antifungal activities were evaluated against Botrytis cinerea (B. cinerea), Altemaria solani (A. solani), Gibberella zeae (G. zeae), Rhizoctonia solani (R. solani), Colletotrichum orbiculare (C. orbiculare), and Alternaria alternata (A. alternata). These results demonstrated that most compounds exhibited remarkable inhibitory activities and possessed better efficacy than ridylbacterin, such as compound 15 (EC50 = 0.87 μg/mL against G. zeae, EC50 = 1.01 μg/mL against C. orbiculare) and compound 1 (EC50 = 1.54 μg/mL against A. alternata, EC50 = 0.20 μg/mL against R. solani). Introduction: The pericapsular nerve group (PENG) block has been shown to be an effective approach to alleviating pain and reducing the need for opioids among older adults following hip surgery, with possible motor-sparing effects. No reports to date, however, have described appropriate ropivacaine volumes for use in the context of PENG block. The present prospective randomized controlled study was thus developed to assess the quadriceps muscle strength and analgesic efficacy associated with PENG block performed using three different volumes of 0.33% ropivacaine following general anesthesia in older adults undergoing hip arthroplasty. Methods: In this prospective randomized double-blind controlled clinical study, 60 patients were assigned at random to undergo ultrasound-guided PENG block for hip arthroplasty using different volumes of ropivacaine. Specifically, these patients were administered 10 ml (Group A, n = 20), 20 ml (Group B, n = 20), or 30 ml (Group C, n = 20) of 0.33% ropivacaine. Quadriceps muscle strength was evaluated at 6 h post-surgery. Visual analog scale (VAS) scores at rest and with movement were assessed at 4, 6, 12, and 24 h post-surgery. Block duration, adverse event incidence, and patient satisfaction were evaluated at 24 h post-surgery. Results: Quadriceps motor block incidence rates at 6 h post-surgery in the 10 ml, 20 ml, and 30 ml groups were 5%, 20%, and 75%, respectively. Quadriceps muscle weakness at 6 h post-surgery was significantly more common in the 30 ml group relative to the others (p < 0.001). Patients administered 10 ml 0.33% ropivacaine exhibited significantly higher VAS pain scores at rest and with movement relative to those patients in the 20 ml and 30 ml treatment groups at all time points (p < 0.05). No apparent differences in analgesic efficacy were observed when comparing the 20 ml and 30 ml groups at 4, 6, 12, and 24 h post-surgery. No significant differences in block duration, satisfaction, or adverse event incidence were observed among groups. Conclusions: The preservation of motor function in the 20 ml 0.33% ropivacaine group was superior to that in the 30 ml 0.33% ropivacaine group. Relative to the group that received 10 ml 0.33% ropivacaine during PENG block, those elderly patients administered 20 ml and 30 ml volumes of 0.33% ropivacaine experienced superior postoperative pain relief following hip arthroplasty. Blind deconvolution (BD) has proven to be an effective approach to detecting repetitive transients caused by bearing faults. However, BD suffers from instability issues including excessive sensitivity of kurtosis-guided BD methods to the single impulse and high computational time cost of the eigenvector algorithm-aided BD methods. To address these critical issues, this paper proposed a novel BD method maximizing negative entropy (NE), shortened as maximum negative entropy deconvolution (MNED). MNED utilizes NE instead of kurtosis as the optimization metric and optimizes the filter coefficients through the objective function method. The effectiveness of MNED in enhancing repetitive transients is illustrated through a simulation case and two experimental cases. A quantitative comparison with three existing BD methods demonstrates the advantages of MNED in fault detection and computational efficiency. In addition, the performance of the four methods under different filter lengths and external shocks is compared. MNED exhibits lower sensitivity to random impulse noise than the kurtosis-guided BD methods and higher computational efficiency than the BD methods based on the eigenvalue algorithm. Background: Aberrant alternative splicing (AS) is a pervasive event during colorectal cancer (CRC) development. SF3B3 is a splicing factor component of U2 small nuclear ribonucleoproteins which are crucial for early stages of spliceosome assembly. The role of SF3B3 in CRC remains unknown. Methods: SF3B3 expression in human CRCs was analyzed using publicly available CRC datasets, immunohistochemistry, qRT-PCR, and western blot. RNA-seq, RNA immunoprecipitation, and lipidomics were performed in SF3B3 knockdown or overexpressing CRC cell lines. CRC cell xenografts, patient-derived xenografts, patient-derived organoids, and orthotopic metastasis mouse models were utilized to determine the in vivo role of SF3B3 in CRC progression and metastasis. Results: SF3B3 was upregulated in CRC samples and associated with poor survival. Inhibition of SF3B3 by RNA silencing suppressed the proliferation and metastasis of CRC cells in vitro and in vivo, characterized by mitochondria injury, increased reactive oxygen species (ROS), and apoptosis. Mechanistically, silencing of SF3B3 increased mTOR exon-skipped splicing, leading to the suppression of lipogenesis via mTOR-SREBF1-FASN signaling. The combination of SF3B3 shRNAs and mTOR inhibitors showed synergistic antitumor activity in patient-derived CRC organoids and xenografts. Importantly, we identified SF3B3 as a critical regulator of mTOR splicing and autophagy in multiple cancers. Conclusions: Our findings revealed that SF3B3 promoted CRC progression and metastasis by regulating mTOR alternative splicing and SREBF1-FASN-mediated lipogenesis, providing strong evidence to support SF3B3 as a druggable target for CRC therapy. Reducing food waste in the student population is important for promoting sustainable economic, social, and ecological development. In this paper, with the help of CiteSpace software (versions 6.1.R6 and 6.2.R4), we visually analyze the literature related to the food waste of students in the WoS core collection database. It is found that (1) scholars are paying increasing attention to the field of student food waste research, with the United States being the country with the largest total amount of research in this field, the greatest academic influence, and the most frequent cooperation with other countries. (2) Research in this field can be broadly divided into three phases: the starting period (2000–2010), the exploration period (2011–2015), and the development period (2016–2023). The research on student food waste involves multiple fields of knowledge, such as statistics, behavior, psychology, management, nutrition, etc. It is divided into three research hotspots, namely student food waste quantity measurement, student food waste influencing factors, and student food waste behavioral interventions, as well as three cutting-edge themes, namely student food waste in developing countries, student food waste and dietary intake and nutritional health, and student food waste from the perspective of behavioral science. (3) Scholars from different countries/regions have different research focuses. Research in the United States focuses on the development of student food waste interventions and the investigation of students' and teachers' knowledge, attitudes, and barriers to intervention in student populations; European scholars focus on researching this area from a behavioral perspective; developing countries in Asia focus on quantifying the level of food waste among college students and exploring the impact of demographic factors on student food waste; and developed countries in Asia focus on surveys of teachers, dietitians, and other parties to explore the impact of food education on food waste and propose food education interventions based on the recommendations of various parties. Genome-wide association analyses using high-throughput metabolomics platforms have led to novel insights into the biology of human metabolism1–7. This detailed knowledge of the genetic determinants of systemic metabolism has been pivotal for uncovering how genetic pathways influence biological mechanisms and complex diseases8–11. Here we present a genome-wide association study for 233 circulating metabolic traits quantified by nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy in up to 136,016 participants from 33 cohorts. We identify more than 400 independent loci and assign probable causal genes at two-thirds of these using manual curation of plausible biological candidates. We highlight the importance of sample and participant characteristics that can have significant effects on genetic associations. We use detailed metabolic profiling of lipoprotein- and lipid-associated variants to better characterize how known lipid loci and novel loci affect lipoprotein metabolism at a granular level. We demonstrate the translational utility of comprehensively phenotyped molecular data, characterizing the metabolic associations of intrahepatic cholestasis of pregnancy. Finally, we observe substantial genetic pleiotropy for multiple metabolic pathways and illustrate the importance of careful instrument selection in Mendelian randomization analysis, revealing a putative causal relationship between acetone and hypertension. To study the evolution of the pantograph-catenary system dynamic under crosswind environments, this paper examines the effect of crosswind on the quality of the current collection and explores the wind stability of different longitudinal suspension forms of the catenary system. Firstly, the catenary with different longitudinal suspension forms is established based on the absolute node coordinate formulation, and the initial equilibrium configuration are accurately obtained. Secondly, the pantograph model is derived, and the pantograph-catenary system coupling model is established according to the standard EN 50318:2018 and passed the verification. Then, the random wind speed spectrum of the simulated environment is built based on the Davenport spectrum and is validated. Finally, the pantograph-catenary system dynamic behavior under the crosswind environments is simulated. The results show that the crosswind affects the low-frequency vibration part of the pantograph-catenary system, with the increase in wind speed and the standard deviation of contact force, the worse current collection quality. Different longitudinal suspension forms of catenary systems have various wind stability. Semi-inclined and inclined longitudinal suspension forms have better wind stability, and the maximum reduction of contact force standard deviation is 14.05%, which can effectively improve the current collection quality in crosswind environments. Colored pavement is commonly used to reduce the road traffic risk and promote road traffic safety, but its performance in foggy environments has not been fully assessed. The goal of this research is to explore the effectiveness and optimization of colored pavement in a dynamic low-visibility environment. A driving simulation experiment is conducted. Three road risk sections in which collisions are common, including a long straight section, a sharp bend section, and a long downslope section, are considered, and three forms of colored pavement are used in five different visibility environments. The effectiveness of the colored pavement is explored by collecting and analyzing driving behavior and physiological characteristic data for 30 drivers in the established driving environment, and information is obtained through a subjective colored evaluation questionnaire. Eight evaluation indexes are selected from the perspectives of driving behavior and physiological characteristics, and the gray premium evaluation method is applied to evaluate the effectiveness of different forms of colored pavement considering the influence of visibility. Finally, the optimal colored pavement under various visibility and road alignment conditions is proposed. The results show that reasonably selecting colored pavement can effectively improve drivers' behaviors and physiological characteristics under foggy conditions. For different road alignments and visibility conditions, different forms of colored pavement should be used to ensure road traffic safety.
