Background: Prostate cancer (PCa) is one of the most prevalent malignancies in males worldwide. Increasing research attention has focused on the PCa microenvironment, which plays a crucial role in tumor progression and therapy resistance. This review aims to provide a comprehensive overview of the key components of the PCa microenvironment, including immune cells, vascular systems, stromal cells, and microbiota, and explore their implications for diagnosis and treatment. Methods: Keywords such as "prostate cancer", "tumor microenvironment", "immune cells", "vascular system", "stromal cells", and "microbiota" were used for literature retrieval through online databases including PubMed and Web of Science. Studies related to the PCa microenvironment were selected, with a particular focus on those discussing the roles of immune cells, vascular systems, stromal cells, and microbiota in the development, progression, and treatment of PCa. The selection criteria prioritized peer-reviewed articles published in the last five years, aiming to summarize and analyze the latest research advancements and clinical relevance regarding the PCa microenvironment. Results: The PCa microenvironment is highly complex and dynamic, with immune cells contributing to immunosuppressive conditions, stromal cells promoting tumor growth, and microbiota potentially affecting androgen metabolism. Vascular systems support angiogenesis, which fosters tumor expansion. Understanding these components offers insight into the mechanisms driving PCa progression and opens avenues for novel therapeutic strategies targeting the tumor microenvironment. Conclusions: A deeper understanding of the PCa microenvironment is crucial for advancing diagnostic techniques and developing precision therapies. This review highlights the potential of targeting the microenvironment to improve patient outcomes, emphasizing its significance in the broader context of PCa research and treatment innovation. Quasi‐solid and composite polymer electrolytes (QSPEs and CPEs) used in lithium‐ion battery (LIB) have recently been a novel strategy owing to their high‐safety comparing to traditional liquid counterparts. This study reported the preparation of CPEs based on boron moiety, poly(ethylene glycol) (PEG), and octahedral polyhedral oligomeric silsesquioxane (POSS) via in situ thermal polymerization method directly onto the lithium anode to improve the interfacial contact and electrochemical performance. The synergistic effect between the incorporation of anion‐trapping boron moiety and in situ polymerization rendered the QSPEs exhibiting higher electrochemical voltage window, ionic conductivity, and transference number as well as better electrochemical performance than the PEG‐based counterpart. Due to the Lewis acid effect, anion‐trapping boron moiety could promote the dissociation of lithium salts, allowing more lithium ions to be in the free state, thereby enhancing the lithium‐ion conductivity. With an optimal addition of POSS, the as‐prepared CPEs exhibited lower overpotential during the lithium plating‐stripping test and better electrochemical performance than the QSPE counterparts. The optimal POSS addition could facilitate the lithium‐ion conduction and establishment of continuous ion pathways, further improving their electrochemical performance. Biofilm is the primary cause of persistent infections caused by Streptococcus suis (S. suis). Metabolism and AI-2 quorum sensing are intricately linked to S. suis biofilm formation. Although the role of the AI-2 quorum sensing luxS gene in S. suis biofilm has been reported, its specific regulatory mechanism remains unclear. This study explored the differences in biofilm formation and monosaccharide metabolism among the wild type (WT), luxS mutant (ΔluxS) and complement strain (CΔluxS), and Galleria mellonella larvae were used to access the effect of luxS gene deletion on the virulence of S. suis in different monosaccharide medias. The results indicated that deletion of the luxS gene further compromised the monosaccharide metabolism of S. suis, impacting its growth in media with fructose, galactose, rhamnose, and mannose as the sole carbon sources. However, no significant impact was observed in media with glucose and N-acetylglucosamine. This deletion also weakened EPS synthesis, thereby diminishing the biofilm formation capacity of S. suis. In 2023, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration has approved 29 small molecule drugs. These newly approved small molecule drugs possess the distinct scaffolds, thereby exhibiting diverse mechanisms of action and binding modalities. Moreover, the marketed drugs have always been an important source of new drug development and creative inspiration, thereby fostering analogous endeavors in drug discovery that potentially extend to the diverse clinical indications. Therefore, conducting a comprehensive evaluation of drug approval experience and associated information will facilitate the expedited identification of highly potent drug molecules. In this review, we comprehensively summarized the relevant information regarding the clinical applications, mechanisms of action and chemical synthesis of 29 small molecule drugs, with the aim of providing a promising structural basis and design inspiration for pharmaceutical chemists. Glioblastoma multiforme (GBM) is a malignant tumour with a poor prognosis. Therefore, potential treatment strategies and novel therapeutic targets have gained increased attention. Our data showed that the ethanol extract of Vanilla planifolia stem (VAS) significantly decreased the viability and the colony formation of GBM cells. Moreover, VAS induced the cleavage of MAP1LC3, a marker of autophagy. Further RNA‐seq and bioinformatic analysis revealed 4248 differentially expressed genes (DEGs) between VAS‐treated GBM cells and the control cells. Protein–protein interactions between DEGs with fold changes less than −3 and more than 5 were further analysed, and we found that 16 and 9 hub DEGs, respectively, were correlated with other DEGs. Further qPCR experiments confirmed that 14 hub DEGs was significantly downregulated and 9 hub DEGs was significantly upregulated. In addition, another significantly downregulated DEG, p21‐activated kinase 6 (PAK6), was correlated with the overall survival of GBM patients. Further validation experiments confirmed that VAS significantly reduced the mRNA and protein expression of PAK6, which led to the abolition of cell viability and colony formation. These findings demonstrated that VAS reduced cell viability, suppressed colony formation and induced autophagy and revealed PAK6 and other DEGs as potential therapeutic targets for GBM treatment. Sustainable human resource management (HRM) is critical to sustainable corporate development. However, there is little systematic research examining the determinants of sustainable HRM adoption. We fill this void by identifying and introducing a configurational approach to examine when firms adopt sustainable HRM. Based on institutional theory, we develop a typology of institutional contexts associated with sustainable HRM adoption. We posit that institutional conditions in configuration facilitate firms' adoption of sustainable HRM. Thus, we hypothesize a primary institutional configuration where institutional support, institutional quality, and institutional infrastructure combine to promote the adoption of sustainable HRM. We further propose alternative types of configurations conducive to the adoption of sustainable HRM by introducing two organizational conditions: strategic leadership support and resource slack. A fuzzy‐set qualitative comparative analysis on data from 57 cases in China supports our hypotheses. We find that the combination of institutional conditions promotes the adoption of highly sustainable HRM, and the two alternative types provide functional substitutes for the primary type: (a) strategic leadership support substitutes for the combination of institutional support and institutional infrastructure, and (b) resource slack substitutes for institutional infrastructure. We build an institutional configurational model to advance a holistic understanding of the theoretical drivers of sustainable HRM, contributing to the research on sustainable HRM, institutional theory, leadership, and resource slack. Background: In recent years, deep learning (DL) technology has been increasingly used for the diagnosis and treatment of lumbar intervertebral disc (IVD) degeneration. This study aims to evaluate the performance of DL technology for IVD segmentation in magnetic resonance (MR) images and explore improvement strategies. Methods: We developed a PRISMA systematic review protocol and systematically reviewed studies that used DL algorithm frameworks to perform IVD segmentation based on MR images published up to April 10, 2024. The Quality Assessment of Diagnostic Accuracy Studies-2 tool was used to assess methodological quality, and the pooled dice similarity coefficient (DSC) score and Intersection over Union (IoU) were calculated to evaluate segmentation performance. Results: 45 studies were included in this systematic review, of which 16 provided complete segmentation performance data and were included in the quantitative meta-analysis. The results indicated that DL models showed satisfactory IVD segmentation performance, with a pooled DSC of 0.900 (95% confidence interval [CI]: 0.887–0.914) and IoU of 0.863 (95% CI: 0.730–0.995). However, the subgroup analysis did not show significant effects of factors on IVD segmentation performance, including network dimensionality, algorithm type, publication year, number of patients, scanning direction, data augmentation, and cross-validation. Conclusions: This study highlights the potential of DL technology in IVD segmentation and its further applications. However, due to the heterogeneity in algorithm frameworks and result reporting of the included studies, the conclusions should be interpreted with caution. Hydrogen heralded as a promising renewable and environmentally friendly energy carrier, carries inherent risks owing to its highly flammable nature. A mere 4 % concentration of hydrogen in the air can trigger an explosion. To counteract this peril, a composite material comprising PbOX‐ZnO (2 : 1) was synthesized, characterized, and subsequently employed to fabricate a hydrogen sensing device. Various analytical tools were used to characterize as‐deposited materials, including X‐ray diffraction, Scanning electron microscopy /Energy Dispersive X‐ray Spectroscopy, Transmission electron microscopy UV‐Vis Reflectance Spectroscopy and Fourier‐transform infrared spectroscopy. The device exhibited favorable properties, such as good selectivity, stability, and a low detection limit for hydrogen. At ambient room temperature, the device demonstrated a sensing signal reaching 468.7, with a response time (T90) of 155 seconds and a recovery time (Tr90) of 69 seconds when exposed to a hydrogen concentration of 5 ppm. This performance underscores the device's rapid and effective response to hydrogen exposure. Moreover, the PbOX‐ZnO (2 : 1) composite‐based device exhibited a detection limit of 2.4 ppm, functioning accurately within a linear range spanning from 5 ppm to 50 ppm. Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) refers to long-term medical conditions that involve inflammation of the digestive tract, and the global incidence and prevalence of IBD are on the rise. Gut microbes play an important role in maintaining the intestinal health of the host, and the occurrence, development, and therapeutic effects of IBD are closely related to the structural and functional changes of gut microbes. Published studies have shown that the natural products from traditional Chinese medicine have direct or indirect regulatory impacts on the composition and metabolism of the gut microbes. In this review, we summarize the research progress of several groups of natural products, i.e., flavonoids, alkaloids, saponins, polysaccharides, polyphenols, and terpenoids, for the therapeutic activities in relieving IBD symptoms. The role of gut microbes and their intestinal metabolites in managing the IBD is presented, with focusing on the mechanism of action of those natural products. Traditional Chinese medicine alleviated IBD symptoms by regulating gut microbes, providing important theoretical and practical basis for the treatment of variable inflammatory intestinal diseases. Efficient and effective radar emitter recognition is critical for electronic support measurement (ESM) systems. However, in complex electromagnetic environments, intercepted pulse trains generally contain substantial data noise, including spurious and missing pulses. Currently, radar emitter recognition methods utilizing traditional artificial neural networks (ANNs) like CNNs and RNNs are susceptible to data noise and require intensive computations, posing challenges to meeting the performance demands of modern ESM systems. Spiking neural networks (SNNs) exhibit stronger representational capabilities compared to traditional ANNs due to the temporal dynamics of spiking neurons and richer information encoded in precise spike timing. Furthermore, SNNs achieve higher computational efficiency by performing event-driven sparse addition calculations. In this paper, a lightweight spiking neural network is proposed by combining direct coding, leaky integrate-and-fire (LIF) neurons, and surrogate gradients to recognize radar emitters. Additionally, an improved SNN for radar emitter recognition is proposed, leveraging the local timing structure of pulses to enhance adaptability to data noise. Bacteria utilize intercellular communication to orchestrate essential cellular processes, adapt to environmental changes, develop antibiotic tolerance, and enhance virulence. This communication, known as quorum sensing (QS), is mediated by the exchange of small signalling molecules called autoinducers. AI-2 QS, regulated by the metabolic enzyme LuxS (S-ribosylhomocysteine lyase), acts as a universal intercellular communication mechanism across gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria and is crucial for diverse bacterial processes. In this study, we demonstrated that in Streptococcus suis (S. suis), a notable zoonotic pathogen, AI-2 QS enhances galactose utilization, upregulates the Leloir pathway for capsular polysaccharide (CPS) precursor production, and boosts CPS synthesis, leading to increased resistance to macrophage phagocytosis. Additionally, our molecular docking and dynamics simulations suggest that, similar to S. pneumoniae, FruA, a fructose-specific phosphoenolpyruvate phosphotransferase system prevalent in gram-positive pathogens, may also function as an AI-2 membrane surface receptor in S. suis. In conclusion, our study demonstrated the significance of AI-2 in the synthesis of galactose metabolism-dependent CPS in S. suis. Background: Upper lumbar disc herniation (ULDH) accounts for 1-10% of all lumbar disc herniations (LDH). This study aimed to evaluate the clinical characteristics and outcomes of patients with ULDH who underwent percutaneous transforaminal endoscopic discectomy (PTED) compared with those with lower LDH. Methods: 60 patients with ULDH or L4–L5 LDH treated with PTED between May 2016 and October 2021. MacNab criteria, visual analog scale (VAS) of back pain and leg pain, and Japanese Orthopedic Association (JOA) were evaluated before and after surgery. Results: In the L1–L3 group, 59.1% of the patients had a positive femoral nerve tension test, and 81.8% of the patients had a sensory deficit. Both groups showed significant improvements in VAS scores for low back and leg pain, and JOA scores postoperatively. No significant differences in the degree of improvement were observed between the two groups. The excellent/good rate was 81.8% in the L1–L3 group and 84.2% in the L4–L5 group, showing no significant difference. Purpose: Percutaneous transforaminal endoscopic discectomy (PTED) was used as a minimally invasive treatment option for lumbar disc herniation (LDH). However, studies focusing on the clinical outcomes of PTED for elderly patients with adjacent segment disease (ASD) were limited. This study aims to compare the clinical outcomes of PTED between ASD and LDH in elderly patients. Patients and Methods: This retrospective study enrolled 39 patients with ASD and 39 patients with LDH. Both groups had undergone PTED in Beijing Chaoyang Hospital from July 4, 2016 to July 30, 2021. Visual analog scale for back pain (VAS-BP) and leg pain (VAS-LP) and Oswestry disability index (ODI) were used to value the clinical outcomes of patients preoperatively, immediately postoperatively, 12, and 24 months postoperatively, and at final follow-up. Patients' satisfaction was evaluated based on the MacNab criteria. Results: All operations were completed. The excellent or good clinical outcomes at final follow-up was demonstrated by 87.15% (34/39) and 89.74% (35/39) in ASD and non-ASD patients, respectively. Clinical improvement was observed immediately postoperatively in both groups and sustained stability during the postoperative follow-up. The ASD group demonstrated significantly longer hospital stays (p = 0.02) and operative time (p < 0.01) than the non-ASD group. Conclusion: PTED is an effective and minimally invasive treatment option for revision surgery of ASD, especially for elderly patients. The classical PID (proportional‐integral‐derivative) control is the most basic and widely used control algorithm in engineering systems by far. Whether PID control can effectively deal with coupled multiagent uncertain nonlinear dynamics is well worth investigating. In this article, a class of PID controlled multiagent stochastic systems with coupled uncertain dynamics is considered, where the control input is nonaffine. Each agent has its own regulation objective, and only has access to its own regulation error information for PID feedback. First, a PID parameter set will be constructed explicitly based on some prior knowledge about the nonlinear functions, such that the overall multiagent system can be stabilized globally in the mean square sense, as long as the PID parameters are chosen from the constructed set. Moreover, the regulation error will be proven to have an upper bound proportional to the noise intensity along the reference signal. Furthermore, it will be shown that the regulation error of each agent can be arbitrarily small by choosing the PID parameters suitably large. In this work, phase-apodized silicon grating filters with varying sidewall corrugation width and location were investigated, while the resonance wavelength, extinction ratio, and rejection bandwidth were tuned flexibly. The grating filters with a waveguide width of 500 nm and grating period of 400 nm were fabricated and characterized as a proof of concept. The resonance wavelength of the device can be shifted by 4.54 nm by varying the sidewall corrugation width from 150 to 250 nm. The corresponding rejection bandwidth can be changed from 1.19 to 2.03 nm by applying a sidewall corrugation location offset from 50 to 200 nm. The experimental performances coincide well with the simulation results. Simple Summary: Bordetella bronchiseptica (B. bronchiseptica) is a severe zoonotic pathogen widespread in aquaculture environments. However, information on the distribution and resistance of this pathogen remains scarce in pig farms. This study isolated and analyzed B. bronchiseptica from pig farms in central China and revealed a high frequency of resistance to this pathogen, with most strains forming biofilms. In addition, a B. bronchiseptica strain with a heteroresistant phenotype to gentamicin was isolated, which is a rare case and requires vigilance. This study enhances our understanding of the biological characteristics, such as the distribution and resistance, of B. bronchiseptica in pig farms in central China. This can provide valuable data for future related research and pathogen prevention and control. Bordetella bronchiseptica is a significant contributor to respiratory disease in pigs, leading to substantial economic losses in the swine industry worldwide. We isolated 52 B. bronchiseptica strains from 542 samples collected from pigs with atrophic rhinitis and bronchopneumonia in central China. Multi-locus sequence typing identified two prevalent sequence types: ST6 (69.23%) and ST7 (30.77%). PCR-based detection of seven virulence genes (fhaB, prn, cyaA, dnt, bteA, fla, and bfrZ) revealed that six of these genes were present in over 90% of the isolates, with bfrZ being the exception at 59.62%. Antimicrobial susceptibility testing, performed using the K-B method, demonstrated high sensitivity to enrofloxacin, polymyxin, and doxycycline but a notable resistance to tylosin, trimethoprim, tobramycin, ciprofloxacin, and amikacin. Remarkably, 86.54% of the isolates exhibited a multidrug-resistant phenotype. Notably, we successfully screened a strain of B. bronchiseptica with a heteroresistance phenotype to gentamicin using population analysis profiling, which is a rare case. Biofilm-formation assays indicated that 96.15% of the isolates possessed biofilm-forming capabilities. These findings provide crucial insights into the prevalence of B. bronchiseptica in central China, facilitating the development of effective preventive measures to safeguard both animal and human health. The underground utility tunnel in a soft foundation is generally affected by the serious disturbance of the vehicle load during the operation period. Therefore, in this study, for the typical utility tunnel engineering in Suqian City of Jiangsu Province, China, field tests were conducted to monitor the performance of the utility tunnel structure in a soft foundation affected by the ground traffic loads during the operation period. Based on the test results, the datasets whose number is 15,376, composed of the five main disturbance factors (four vehicle operating load parameters and one operating time parameter), and the corresponding two main structure responses (displacement and stress) have been constructed. Based on the obtained datasets, using the proposed new deep learning model called WO-DBN, in which the seven hyperparameters of a deep belief network (DBN) are determined by the whale optimization algorithm (WOA), the safety responses of the utility tunnel structure have been predicted. The results show that for the prediction results, the average absolute error for the displacement is 0.1604, and for the stress, it is 12.3726, which are not significant and can meet the requirement of the real engineering. Therefore, the deep learning model can accurately predict the performance of the utility tunnel structure under a vehicle load and other disturbances, and the model has good applicability. Alterations in lipid metabolism affect the proliferation and metastatic capabilities of PCa cells. Cancer cells increase lipid synthesis and regulate fatty acid oxidation to meet their growth and energy demands. Similarly, changes occur in amino acid metabolism in PCa. Cancer cells exhibit an increased demand for specific amino acids, and they regulate amino acid transport and metabolic pathways to fulfill their proliferation and survival requirements. These changes are closely associated with disease progression and treatment response in PCa cells. Therefore, a comprehensive investigation of the metabolic characteristics of PCa is expected to offer novel insights and approaches for the early diagnosis and treatment of this disease. Mammals exhibit different rates of cancer, with long-lived species generally showing greater resistance. Although bats have been suggested to be resistant to cancer due to their longevity, this has yet to be systematically examined. Here, we investigate cancer resistance across seven bat species by activating oncogenic genes in their primary cells. Both in vitro and in vivo experiments suggest that Myotis pilosus (MPI) is particularly resistant to cancer. The transcriptomic and functional analyses reveal that the downregulation of three genes (HIF1A, COPS5, and RPS3) largely contributes to cancer resistance in MPI. Further, we identify the loss of a potential enhancer containing the HIF1A binding site upstream of COPS5 in MPI, resulting in the downregulation of COPS5. These findings not only provide direct experimental evidence for cancer resistance in a bat species but also offer insights into the natural mechanisms of cancer resistance in mammals. Purpose: This retrospective cohort study aimed to evaluate the efficacy and safety of percutaneous endoscopic lumbar decompression (PELD) in elderly patients with lumbar spinal stenosis (LSS). Study Design: A matched retrospective study. Setting: The research was conducted in Beijing Chaoyang Hospital, Capital Medical University, China. Methods: This study included patients treated with PELD for LSS from September 2016 to September 2020. Patients with LSS aged ≥ 80 years were screened according to the inclusion and exclusion criteria as the study group, and then the same number of patients with LSS aged 50–80 years were matched according to gender, stenosis type, and surgical segment as the control group. Preoperative patient status was assessed using the Charlson comorbidity index (CCI) and the American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA) physical status classification score. Clinical outcomes were assessed using the visual analog scale (VAS), Oswestry Disability Index (ODI) scores, modified Macnab criteria, radiological parameters and complication rates. Results: A total of 624 LSS patients met the screening criteria between September 2016 and September 2020, with 47 LSS patients ≥ 80 years old serving as the study group. Forty-seven LSS patients aged 50–80 years were matched to the study group according to gender, stenosis type, and stenosis segment. The CCI score (1.77 ± 1.67) and ASA classification (2.62 ± 0.74) of the study group were significantly higher than the CCI score (0.66 ± 0.96) and ASA classification (1.28 ± 0.54) of the control group, and the difference was statistically significant. Compared with preoperative data, postoperative ODI, leg pain VAS scores and back pain VAS scores were significantly improved in both groups (p < 0.05). However, no significant difference was found between two groups in preoperative and postoperative ODI, leg pain VAS scores and back pain VAS scores (p > 0.05). The operation time and postoperative hospital stay in control group were significantly lower than those in study (p < 0.05), but there was no significant difference in blood loss between the two groups (p > 0.05). Besides, overall radiological parameters were comparable in elder and younger patients (p > 0.05), and disc height (DH), lumbar lordosis and segmental lordosis decreased after two year follow-up in both groups (p < 0.05). In addition, complication rates were similar between the two groups (p > 0.05), and no serious complications and deaths were found. Limitations: Single-centre retrospective design, non-randomized sample, small sample size. Conclusion: Although elderly LSS patients (≥ 80 years old) are less fit and have more comorbidities, satisfactory outcomes can be achieved with PELD, comparable to those of LSS patients < 80 years old, and without increased complications. Background. Limited randomized controlled studies showed that thoracoscopic surgical left atrial ablation was not superior to catheter ablation (CA) in patients with persistent atrial fibrillation (PerAF). Right atrium might play an important role in triggering and maintaining atrial fibrillation (AF) in patients with PerAF. This study aimed to compare the efficacy of thoracoscopic surgical biatrial ablation versus CA in patients with PerAF. Methods. Patients with PerAF underwent thoracoscopic surgical biatrial ablation or CA were included in this study. Propensity score matching (1 : 2) was applied to select patients in CA group and surgical ablation (SA) group. The primary endpoint was to compare the probability of freedom from atrial tachyarrhythmias between SA and CA. Atrial tachyarrhythmia recurrence was defined as any atrial tachyarrhythmias longer than 30 s documented by 24-hour Holter monitoring after the 3-month blanking period. Results. After propensity score matching, 51 patients in surgical biatrial ablation group and 102 patients in CA group were enrolled (mean left atrial diameter: 45.8 mm). The probability of freedom from atrial tachyarrhythmias on antiarrhythmia drugs was 62.7%, 60.6%, and 60.6% in SA group and 42.0%, 39.6%, and 36.7% in CA group at 12, 24, and 36 months, respectively (p = 0.011), and off antiarrhythmia drugs were 56.9%, 52.5%, and 52.5% in SA group and 36.0%, 31.4%, and 27.5% in CA group at 12, 24, and 36 months, respectively (p = 0.007). After adjustment of age, sex, left atrial diameter, and AF duration history, multivariable Cox regression analysis suggested that SA procedure was an independent factor to reduce the risk of atrial tachyarrhythmia recurrence (HR: 0.589, 95% CI 0.370–0.937, p = 0.025). The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has approved a total of 37 new drugs in 2022, which are composed of 20 chemical entities and 17 biologics. In particular, 20 chemical entities, including 17 small molecule drugs, 1 radiotherapy, and 2 diagnostic agents, provide privileged scaffolds, breakthrough clinical benefits, and a new mechanism of action for the discovery of more potent clinical candidates. The structure‐based drug development with clear targets and fragment‐based drug development with privileged scaffolds have always been the important modules in the field of drug discovery, which could easily bypass the patent protection and bring about improved biological activity. Therefore, we summarized the relevant valuable information about clinical application, mechanism of action, and chemical synthesis of 17 newly approved small molecule drugs in 2022. We hope this timely and comprehensive review could bring about creative and elegant inspiration on the synthetic methodologies and mechanism of action for the discovery of new drugs with novel chemical scaffolds and extended clinical indications. Study Design: Retrospective cohort study. Objectives: The main purpose of the present study was to report the incidence and identify predictors of reoperation in patients with lumbar spinal stenosis (LSS) treated with percutaneous endoscopic transforaminal decompression (PETD). Methods: This study retrospectively reviewed consecutive patients with LSS who underwent PETD at our center between January 2016 and July 2020. The incidence of reoperations was calculated. We then designed a surgical period-matched case-control study to identify predictors among demographic data, clinical baseline data, and imaging parameters. Results: This study identified 496 eligible patients. 33 (6.7%) patients underwent reoperation with a mean follow-up of 3 years, consisting 22 (4.4%) at the index level and 11 (2.2%) at the adjacent levels. There were significant differences in age and age-adjusted Charlson comorbidity index (AACCI) between the two groups, with younger age (P =.004) and lower AACCI (P =.019) in reoperation group. Age was identified as the sole independent predictor (P =.006). The duration of symptoms ≥12 months (P =.034) and the presence of heart problems (P =.012) were recognized as specific predictors among patients younger than 65 years. Conclusions: In a mean follow-up of 3 years, the incidence of reoperation in LSS treated with PETD was 6.7%. A younger age was the independent predictor for reoperation. Younger patients with the duration of symptoms ≥12 months or without heart problems were more likely to undergo a second operation. Pterostilbene has been found to be an active scaffold with anti-breast cancer (BC) action. In this study, fourteen pterostilbene-tethered analogues (2A–2N) were prepared and screened in vitro against MDA-MB-231 and MCF-7 cells. Meanwhile, their structures were characterized using 1H-NMR, 13C-NMR, and HRMS (ESI) spectroscopy techniques. Among them, analogue 2L displayed the most potent anti-proliferation effect on MDA-MB-231 (IC50 = 10.39 μM) and MCF-7 cells (IC50 = 11.73 μM). Furthermore, the meaningful structure–activity relationships suggested that the introduction of a saturated six-membered nitrogen heterocyclic ring into the side chain favored anti-BC capacity. Biological observations indicated that 2L could cause the typical morphological changes in apoptosis, namely an increase in reactive oxygen species level and a loss of mitochondrial membrane potential in BC cells. Importantly, 2L could induce mitochondrial-mediated apoptosis by regulating the expression of caspase-related proteins. Consistent with the results of our in vitro study, 2L apparently inhibited tumor growth in MDA-MB-231 xenograft mice without obvious toxicity. The root bark of Dictamnus dasycarpus Turcz is a traditional Chinese medicine, Dictamni Cortex (DC), which is mainly used in the clinical treatment of skin inflammation, eczema, rubella, rheumatism, and gynecological inflammation. Unexpectedly, there are some cases of liver injury after the administration of DC. However, the mechanism of hepatotoxicity remains ambiguous. The aim of this study was to explore the mechanism and substance bases of DC hepatotoxicity based on network pharmacology and molecular docking, verified through pharmacological experiments. Partial prototype components and metabolites in vivo of quinoline alkaloids from DC were selected as candidate compounds, whose targets were collected from databases. Network pharmacology was applied to study the potential hepatotoxic mechanism after correlating the targets of candidate compounds with the targets of hepatotoxicity. Molecular docking was simulated to uncover the molecular mechanism. Furthermore, the hepatotoxicity of the extract and its constituents from DC was evaluated in vivo and in vitro. We constructed the "potential toxic components-toxic target-toxic pathway" network. Our results showed that the targets of DC included CYP1A2 and GSR, participating in heterologous steroid metabolism, REDOX metabolism, drug metabolism, heterocyclic metabolic processes, the synthesis of steroid hormone, cytochrome P450 metabolism, chemical carcinogens and bile secretion pathways. In vitro and in vivo experiments displayed that DC could result in a decrease in GSH-Px and oxidative stress, simultaneously inhibiting the expression of CYP1A2 and inducing hepatotoxicity. These results further indicated the mechanism of hepatotoxicity induced by Dictamnus dasycarpus, providing a basic theory to explore and prevent hepatotoxicity in the clinical usage of Dictamnus dasycarpus. Engineered living materials (ELMs) combine living cells with polymeric matrices to yield unique materials with programmable functions. While the cellular platform and the polymer network determine the material properties and applications, there are still gaps in the ability to seamlessly integrate the biotic (cellular) and abiotic (polymer) components into singular materials, then assemble them into devices and machines. Herein, the additive‐manufacturing of ELMs wherein bioproduction of metabolites from the encapsulated cells enhanced the properties of the surrounding matrix is demonstrated. First, aqueous resins are developed comprising bovine serum albumin (BSA) and poly(ethylene glycol diacrylate) (PEGDA) with engineered microbes for vat photopolymerization to create objects with a wide array of 3D form factors. The BSA‐PEGDA matrix afforded hydrogels that are mechanically stiff and tough for use in load‐bearing applications. Second, the continuous in situ production of l‐DOPA, naringenin, and betaxanthins from the engineered cells encapsulated within the BSA‐PEGDA matrix is demonstrated. These microbial metabolites bioaugmented the properties of the BSA‐PEGDA matrix by enhancing the stiffness (l‐DOPA) or resistance to enzymatic degradation (betaxanthin). Finally, the assembly of the 3D printed ELM components into mechanically functional bolts and gears to showcase the potential to create functional ELMs for synthetic living machines is demonstrated. Background: In this study, we conducted an integrated study of the diagnostic value of MiR-223 in ectopic pregnancy (EP). Methods: We used GSE44731 downloaded from GEO and GEO2R to identify differentially expressed miRNA. The hub genes corresponding to the differential miRNA were then identified by using the Xiantao academic tool, GO (Gene Ontology), and KEGG (Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes). Afterward, we used the miEAA database to perform gene set enrichment analysis (GSEA) of differential miRNA, and used Xiantao academic tools again to conduct the ceRNA network based on the target genes. Protein–protein interaction (PPI) network construction and lncRNA of hub miRNA target genes were then predicted by the starbase database. For validation, the villus tissue from intrauterine pregnancy and tubal pregnancy was collected and assayed by qPCR. Results: In total 19 differentially expressed miRNAs were screened out, of which MiR-223 had a relatively clear diagnostic significance. Hub genes were enriched and analyzed by GO, KEGG, and GSEA, and the results showed that regulation of NF-κB and other signaling pathways are primarily enriched in ectopic pregnancy. We also obtained 215 key genes from PPI analysis. Our ceRNA analysis indicated that LRRC75A-AS1 and PITPNA-AS1 were associated with MiR-223, and the expression of MiR-223 in qPCR was significantly high in tubal pregnancy group. Conclusion: We found that MiR-223 can be used in the diagnosis of EP. Our findings provide valuable information and direction for future research into novel targets for EP diagnosis. COP9 constitutive photomorphogenic homolog subunit 5 (COPS5), also known as Jab1 or CSN5, has been implicated in a wide variety of cellular and developmental processes. By analyzing male germ cell–specific COPS5-deficient mice, we have demonstrated previously that COPS5 is essential to maintain male germ survival and acrosome biogenesis. To further determine the role of Cops5 in peritubular myoid cells, a smooth muscle lineage surrounding seminiferous tubules, we herein derived mice conditionally deficient for the Cops5 gene in smooth muscle cells using transgenic Myh11 -Cre mice. Although these conditional Cops5 -deficient mice were born at the expected Mendelian ratio and appeared to be normal within the first week after birth, the homozygous mice started to show growth retardation after 1 week. These mice also exhibited a variety of developmental and reproductive disorders, including failure of development of reproductive organs in both males and females, spermatogenesis defects, and impaired skeletal development and immune functions. Furthermore, conditional Cops5 -deficient mice revealed dramatic impairment of the endocrine system associated with testicular functions, including a marked reduction in serum levels of gonadotropins (follicle-stimulating hormone, luteinizing hormone), testosterone, insulin-like growth factor 1, and glucose, but not vasopressin. All homozygous mice died before age 67 days in the study. Simple Summary: Clinically, Streptococcus suis and Haemophilus parasuis often co-occur or mix with each other, causing great harm to the pig industry. Thus, we established a mixed infection model in vitro and a co-infected mice model. We found that the co-existence of S. suis and H. parasuis can interfere with each other. There was competition between S. suis and H. parasuis in co-culture. Compared to single cultures, co-cultures showed enhanced biofilm formation, changes in virulence genes, and increased resistance to drugs. The number of bacteria in the co-infected mice increased and the inflammatory response changed. Ultimately, the study elucidated the interaction between S. suis and H. parasuis. This provides new ideas for the prevention and treatment of porcine respiratory disease syndrome caused by bacteria. Streptococcus suis (S. suis) and Haemophilus parasuis (H. parasuis) are two primary pathogens currently affecting the porcine industry. They often cause encephalitis and arthritis. They also frequently co-infect in clinical settings. In the current study, we identified significant correlations between S. suis and H. parasuis. The results from CI versus RIR suggested that S. suis and H. parasuis were competitive in general. Compared to mono-species biofilm, the biomass, bio-volume, and thickness of mixed-species biofilms were significantly higher, which was confirmed using crystal violet staining, confocal laser scanning microscopy, and scanning electron microscopy. Compared to mono-species biofilm, the viable bacteria in the mixed-species biofilms were significantly lower, which was confirmed using the enumeration of colony-forming units (CFU cm−2). The susceptibility of antibiotics in the co-culture decreased in the planktonic state. In contrast, biofilm state bacteria are significantly more difficult to eradicate with antibiotics than in a planktonic state. Whether in planktonic or biofilm state, the expression of virulence genes of S. suis and H. parasuis in mixed culture was very different from that in single culture. Subsequently, by establishing a mixed infection model in mice, we found that the colonization of the two pathogens in organs increased after mixed infection, and altered the host's inflammatory response. In summary, our results indicate that S. suis and H. parasuis compete when co-cultured in vitro. Surprisingly, S. suis and H. parasuis synergistically increased colonization capacity after co-infection in vivo. This study elucidated the interaction between S. suis and H. parasuis during single infections and co-infections. Purpose: This study aimed to perform in vivo three-dimensional (3D) quantitative measurements of morphometric changes in the foramen in patients with lumbar foraminal stenosis (LFS) undergoing percutaneous endoscopic lumbar foraminotomy (PELF) and investigate the relationship between anatomical changes in the foramen and clinical outcomes. Methods: We retrospectively reviewed consecutive patients with LFS treated with PELF between January 2016 and September 2020 at our centre. Clinical outcomes were evaluated. Foraminal volume (FV) and foraminal minimal area (FMA) were calculated using a novel vertebral and foramen segmentation method. A comparison of the anatomical parameters of the foramen were conducted between the satisfied and unsatisfied groups divided based on the modified MacNab criteria. Results: A total of 26 eligible patients with a mean follow-up of 3.6 years were enrolled. A significant increase was found in overall FV (71.5%) from 1.436 ± 0.396 to 2.464 ± 0.719 cm3 (P < 0.001) and FMA (109.5%) from 0.849 ± 0.207 to 1.780 ± 0.524 cm2. All clinical outcomes were significantly improved (P < 0.001) after PELF. No significant difference was found in changes in neither FV nor FMA between the two groups. Conclusion: Clinical results and foraminal dimensions improved significantly after PELF, indicating that PELF was a prominent technique suitable for LFS because of the direct decompression at impingement structures. No relationship was found between morphometric changes and clinical outcomes, revealing that full-scale endoscopic decompression is necessary and adequate for LFS, and unsatisfactory outcomes are less likely to result from decompression procedure. We perform weak-lensing tomographic peak studies using the first year of shear data from the Hyper Suprime-Cam Subaru Strategic Program (HSC-SSP) survey. The effective area used in our analyses after field selection, masking, and boundary exclusions is |$\sim 58 \deg ^2$|⁠. The source galaxies are divided into low- and high-redshift bins, with 0.2 ≤ z p ≤ 0.85 and 0.85 ≤ z p ≤ 1.5, respectively. We utilize our halo-based theoretical peak model, including the projection effect of large-scale structures, to derive cosmological constraints from the observed tomographic high-peak abundances with the signal-to-noise ratio in the range of νN = [3.5, 5.5]. These high peaks are closely associated with the lensing effects of massive clusters of galaxies. Thus, the inclusion of their member galaxies in the shear catalogue can lead to significant source clustering and dilute their lensing signals. We account for this systematic effect in our theoretical modelling. In addition, the impacts of baryonic effects, galaxy intrinsic alignments, as well as residual uncertainties in shear and photometric redshift calibrations are also analysed. Within the flat ΛCDM model, the derived constraint is |$S_8=\sigma _8(\Omega _{\rm m}/0.3)^{0.5} =0.758_{-0.076}^{+0.033}$| and |$0.768_{-0.057}^{+0.030}$| with the source clustering information measured from the two cluster catalogues CAMIRA and WZL, respectively. The asymmetric uncertainties are due to the different degeneracy direction of (Ωm, σ8) from high-peak abundances compared with that from the cosmic shear two-point correlations, which gives rise to the power index α ≈ 0.5. Fitting to our constraints, we obtain α ≈ 0.38 and |$\Sigma _8=\sigma _8(\Omega _{\rm m}/0.3)^{\alpha }=0.772_{-0.032}^{+0.028}$| (CAMIRA) and |$0.781_{-0.033}^{+0.028}$| (WZL). Neuroblastoma has obvious heterogeneity. It is one of the few undifferentiated malignant tumors that can spontaneously degenerate into completely benign tumors. However, for its high-risk type, even with various intensive treatment options, the prognosis is still unsatisfactory. At the same time, a large number of research data show that the abnormal amplification and high-level expression of the MYCN gene are positively correlated with the malignant progression, poor prognosis, and mortality of neuroblastoma. In this context, this article explores the role of the N-Myc, MYCN gene expression product on its target genes related to the cell cycle and reveals its regulatory network in promoting tumor proliferation and malignant progression. Engineered living materials (ELMs) have broad applications for enabling on‐demand bioproduction of compounds ranging from small molecules to large proteins. However, most formulations and reports lack the capacity for storage beyond a few months. In this study, we develop an optimized procedure to maximize stress resilience of yeast‐laden ELMs through the use of desiccant storage and 10% trehalose incubation before lyophilization. This approach led to over 1‐year room temperature storage stability across a range of strain genotypes. In particular, we highlight the superiority of exogenously added trehalose over endogenous, engineered production in yielding robust preservation resilience that is independent of cell state. This simple, effective protocol enables sufficient accumulation of intracellular trehalose over a short period of contact time across a range of strain backgrounds without requiring the overexpression of a trehalose importer. A variety of microscopic analysis including µ‐CT and confocal microscopy indicate that cells form spherical colonies within F127‐BUM ELMs that have variable viability upon storage. In this work, 316L austenitic stainless steel (ASS) was subjected to laser surface texturing to improve its tribological performance. The effects of surface texture parameters and service conditions on the tribological performance of laser-surface-textured 316L ASS were investigated through Taguchi's orthogonal arrays. Four main factors were designed in the orthogonal array, namely texture diameter, texture interval, load, and sliding speed. Each factor was with three levels. The comprehensive scoring method was used to analyze the influence of factors and levels on the signal-to-noise ratios and the mean values of the corresponding indicators (wear rate and friction coefficient). Meanwhile, the significance of each factor on the response variable was calculated by analysis of variance (ANOVA). The results indicated that the order in which factors affect the tribological performance was as follows: interval>load>diameter>speed and the optimal parameter combination was 400 μm (diameter), 1200 μm (interval), 10 N (load), and 1500 r/min (speed). The interval had a greater influence of 29.88%, the load influenced 21.54%, and the diameter influenced 8.65%. Finite element analysis results showed that the optimized parameter combination obtained the minimum surface stress. With the increase in the texture interval, the surface stress decreased gradually. Determining how to improve the non-uniformity of arrayed waveguide grating (AWG) is of great significance for dense wavelength division multiplexing (DWDM) systems. In this work, a silicon nanowire-assisted AWG structure is proposed, which can achieve high uniformity with a low insertion loss. The article compares the effect of nanowire number and shape on uniformity and insertion loss, finding that double nanowires provide the best performance. Double nanowires with a width of 230 nm and length of 3.5 μm can consist of a slot configuration between arrayed waveguides, both connecting to the star coupler and spacing 165 nm from the waveguides. Compared with conventional 8- and 16-channel AWGs with channel spacing of 200 GHz, the non-uniformity of the presented structure can be improved from 1.09 and 1.6 dB to 0.24 and 0.63 dB, respectively. The overall footprint of the device would remain identical, which is 276 × 299 or 258 × 303 μm2 for the 8- or 16-channel AWG. The present high uniformity design is simple and easy to fabricate without any additional insertion loss, which is expected to be widely applied in the highly integrated DWDM systems. Purpose: To evaluate the efficacy of repeat percutaneous endoscopic lumbar decompression (PELD) in lumbar spinal stenosis (LSS) reoperation. Patients and Methods: This study included patients with LSS who relapsed following treatment with PELD therapy between March 2017 and March 2020. Visual analog scale (VAS) scores and Oswestry Disability Index (ODI) were analyzed preoperatively, postoperatively at 3, 6, 12, and 24 months, and at final follow-up. The modified MacNab criteria were used to assess clinical effects. All complications were recorded. Results: At a mean follow-up of 3 years, 24 patients with LSS who underwent repeat PELD were identified. The patients' mean operative time was 122.3± 29.2 min, blood loss was 12.5± 5.3 mL, and mean hospital stay was 7.0± 1.9 days. VAS leg-pain score improved from 6.1± 1.0 to 2.0± 1.2 (P< 0.001), VAS back-pain score improved from 6.2± 0.8 to 2.1± 1.1 (P< 0.001), and ODI improved from 68.9± 6.0 to 20.9± 5.6 (P < 0.001). According to the modified MacNab criteria, the good-to-excellent rate was 83.3%. Postoperative complications, including hematoma, nerve root injury, and dural injury, developed in four patients. Conclusion: Repeat PELD for reoperation in patients with LSS has a good clinical effect, and is recommended in routine clinical practice. Here, centrally compiled educational materials for language arts have unique advantages with respect to strengthening education in the standard spoken and written Chinese language, enhancing the cohesion of the Chinese nation, and so on, and they play an irreplaceable role in forging a sense of community for the Chinese nation. Centered on the "Five Identifications," this study sets out from the three-dimensional perspective of cognitive factors, affective factors and behavioral factors, to build a framework for analysis of educational materials based on the connotations of the sense of community for the Chinese nation. The characteristics of the representation of the connotative factors of the sense of community for the Chinese nation in centrally compiled educational materials for language arts are: The educational materials comprehensively and emphatically embody the educational content of the "Five Identifications"; the educational content for the different types of identification comprehensively addresses educational objectives in the three areas of cognition, affection and behavior; and educational content on cultural identification is the most enriched. Among the inherent mechanisms for forging a sense of community for the Chinese nation through the centralized compilation of educational materials for language arts, the first is organically integrating the connotative factors of the sense of community for the Chinese nation on the basis of the patterns of the subject of language arts as well as curriculum standards; the second is to use cultural identification as a focal point in promoting education for the "Five Identifications," while highlighting the unique value of the subject of language arts; and the third is to comprehensively strengthen education for identification with the community of the Chinese nation centered on the text selection system, in combination with the design of form factors and educational activities. The main pathways for forging a sense of community for the Chinese nation through the centralized compilation of educational materials for language arts are: (1) Synchronously strengthening identification with the community of the Chinese nation in the process of improving students' language arts skills and accomplishments, based on the learning situation; (2) Creating three-dimensional educational objectives for education in the community of the Chinese nation on the basis of cognitive patterns, to build firm ideological foundations; (3) Applying diverse teaching methods and educational techniques to promote consolidation of the sense of community for the Chinese nation in language arts studies and in life. Purpose: This updated meta-analysis aimed to compare single and dual growing rods, including both traditional growing rod and magnetically controlled growing rod (MCGR) used in the treatment of early-onset scoliosis (EOS) with regard to deformity correction, spinal growth, and complications. Methods: This meta-analysis was performed according to the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses guidelines using articles extracted from PubMed, EMBASE databases, and Cochrane Library databases. Only articles reporting the complications and the imaging parameters before and after growing rods in the patients diagnosed with EOS were included. We extracted and statistically analyzed the data deemed relevant for this study, and used the Newcastle–Ottawa Scale to assess the risk of bias in each study. Data synthesis and statistical analyses were performed using R software. Results: Fifteen eligible articles containing 409 participants (n = 185, single growing rods; n = 224, dual growing rods) were identified. The meta-analysis found no significant differences in the preoperative and postoperative major Cobb angle, T1–S1 distance, thoracic kyphosis, and coronal balance between single and dual rods groups. The final follow-up major Cobb angle (P = 0.01; standardized mean difference, − 0.42 [95% confidence interval (CI), − 0.74 to − 0.10]; I2 = 23%) was significantly smaller in dual rods group than single-rod group. However, no significant differences in the correction rate of angle (major Cobb angle and kyphosis angle) and changes in the T1–S1 distance between the two groups were observed. Moreover, there were no significant differences in the metalwork failure, infection, or proximal junctional kyphosis between single and dual rods groups. However, total complications (P = 0.03; risk ratio (RR), 0.79 [95% CI, 0.63–0.98]; I2 = 29%) and distraction failure in MCGR (P = 0.04; RR, 0.38 [95% CI, 0.14–0.98]; I2 = 11%) were significantly lower in dual rods group than single-rod group. Conclusion: This updated meta-analysis found that patients with dual growing rods had fewer complications, especially distraction failure in MCGR, than those with single growing rod. However, none of deformity correction, spinal growth, or other complications differed between single and dual growing rods. Purpose: To identify the incidence rates and risk factors for early readmission and reoperation after percutaneous transforaminal endoscopic decompression (PTED) for degenerative lumbar spinal stenosis (DLSS). Patients and Methods: A total of 1011 DLSS patients who underwent PTED were retrospectively evaluated. Of them, 58 were readmitted, and 31 underwent reoperation. The patients were matched with 174 control patients to perform case-control analyses. The clinical and preoperative imaging data of each patient were recorded. Univariate analyses were performed using independent sample t-tests and Fisher's exact tests. Furthermore, the risk factors for early readmission and reoperation were analyzed using multivariate logistic regression analyses. Results: The incidence rates of readmission and reoperation within 90 days after PTED were 5.7% and 3.1%, respectively. Age (odds ratio [OR]=1.054, p=0.001), BMI (OR=1.104, p=0.041), a history of lumbar surgery (OR=3.260, p=0.014), and the number of levels with radiological lumbar foraminal stenosis (LFS, OR=2.533, p< 0.001) were independent risk factors for early readmission. The number of levels with radiological LFS (OR=5.049, p< 0.001), the grade of surgical-level facet joint degeneration (OR=2.010, p=0.023), and a history of lumbar surgery (OR=10.091, p< 0.001) were independent risk factors for early reoperation. Conclusion: This study confirmed that aging, a higher BMI, a history of lumbar surgery, and more levels with radiological LFS were associated with a higher risk of early readmission. More levels with radiological LFS, a higher grade of surgical-level facet joint degeneration, and a history of lumbar surgery were predictors of early reoperation. Many modern radars use variable pulse repetition intervals (PRI) to improve anti-reconnaissance and anti-jamming performance. Their PRI features are probably software-defined, but the PRI values at different time instants are variable. Previous statistical pattern analyzing methods are unable to extract such undetermined PRI values and features, which greatly increases the difficulty of Electronic Support Measures (ESM) against such radars. In this communication, we first establish a model to describe the temporal patterns of software-defined radar pulse trains, then introduce the recurrent neural network (RNN) to mine high-order relationships between successive pulses, and finally exploit the temporal features to predict the time of arrival of upcoming pulses. In the simulation part, we compare different time series prediction models to verify the RNN's adaptability for pulse sequences of variable parameter radars. Moreover, behaviors of different RNN units in this task are compared, and the results show that the proposed method can learn complex PRI features in pulse trains even in the presence of significant data noises and agile PRIs. Purpose: In this study, we aimed to clarify whether osteoporotic vertebral compression fracture (OVCF) following percutaneous kyphoplasty (PKP) was associated with a high risk for radiographic adjacent segment degeneration (ASD) and to identify the risk factors for radiographic ASD in these individuals.Methods: We retrospectively reviewed consecutive patients with OVCFs who underwent PKP at our institution between November 2015 and January 2021. The incidence of radiographic ASD was calculated and specific subgroups of ASD were identified. Univariate and multivariate analyses of demographic, clinical baseline, and radiologic data were performed to identify risk factors associated with radiographic ASD.Results: With a mean follow-up time of 27.3 months, a total of 95 eligible patients were enrolled. The incidence of radiographic ASD distinguished from natural degeneration was 52.6%. Patients with OVCFs who underwent PKP had a high risk of developing radiographic ASD, particularly disc degeneration. Intradiscal cement leakage (odds ratio [OR], 5.706; 95% confidence interval [CI], 2.039-15.970; P = 0.001) and preoperative disc height (OR, 0.681; 95% CI, 0.518-0.895; P = 0.006) were identified as independent risk factors.Conclusion: Patients with OVCFs who underwent PKP were more likely to develop radiographic ASD, and their progression was distinguished from natural degeneration. Disc degeneration was the most common type of degeneration. Intradiscal cement leakage and preoperative disc height were identified as independent risk factors for developing radiographic ASD in these patients.
