Ammonia (NH3) plays a pivotal role in industrial production and human life. The conventional method of ammonia production via the Haber–Bosch route, which operates under stringent conditions, incurs considerable energy expenditure and contributes to the release of greenhouse gases. Therefore, the development of advanced environmentally friendly methods for NH3 synthesis is of great importance. This research endeavors to produce environmentally friendly NH3 by harnessing the electrocatalytic nitrogen reduction reaction, powered by sustainable electricity sources, and investigate the efficacy of catalysts for this process. Non-noble-metal NiCu double single-atom-loaded nitrogen-doped porous carbon (NC@NiCu) was obtained by electrochemical deposition. Experimental results show that NC@NiCu has abundant dual single-atom Ni–Cu active sites, demonstrating excellent electrocatalytic N2 reduction performance, with a Faradaic efficiency of 30.0% and an ammonia yield rate of 70.78 μg·h–1·mgcat.–1, superior to many reported single-atom materials. The confirmation of uniformly dispersed Ni–Cu dual single-atom sites was achieved through the application of high-angle annular dark-field scanning transmission electron microscopy and X-ray absorption fine structure analysis. Moreover, the product of the electrochemical NRR was identified as NH3, which was detected using differential electrochemical mass spectrometry, and density functional theory calculations revealed that the energy barrier for the transformation from *N2H to *NHNH on NC@NiCu is 0.72 eV, which is 0.69 eV higher than the energy barrier from *N2H to *NNH2 (0.03 eV). This significant difference in energy barriers indicates that the NRR on NC@NiCu proceeds via a distal mechanism. This research introduces an innovative method for the fabrication of nitrogen fixation materials with high catalytic activity and simultaneously establishes a fresh foundation for the development of future materials featuring dual single-atom configurations. This study aimed to investigate the safety and effect of omitting chest tubes after thoracoscopic lobectomy in children with congenital lung malformation. A multicenter retrospective study was performed with 632 thoracoscopic lobectomy CLM patients in four hospitals between 2014.1 and 2023.1, which were divided into non-chest tube (NCT)group and chest tube (CT)group. Baseline data, operation and follow-up outcomes were compared. In total, 312 patients were included in the NCT group, and 320 in the CT group. There were no statistically significant differences in baseline data between the two groups. The FLACC scale score in the NCT group was less than the CT group (2.7 ± 0.43 vs. 5.8 ± 0.26 p = 0.027). The median length of postoperative hospital stay in the CT group was significantly longer than the NCT group (5 d vs.3 d, p = 0.045). Eight (2.5%) patients developed chest tube related infections in the CT group(p = 0.004). Six patients developed atelectasis in the NCT group, which was significantly less than the 18 patients in the CT group(p = 0.014). No chest tube placement in selected CLM pediatric patients may be safe and avoid chest tube-related complications, which may also contribute to a rapid recovery. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Background: Indocyanine green (ICG) is a near-infrared fluorescent dye widely used for intraoperative navigation during liver surgeries because of its non-radioactive nature, high safety, and minimal impact on liver function. However, variability in its dosage and concentration and its low imaging success rates have limited its widespread application. To address these issues, we developed a novel ICG–human serum albumin (ICG-HSA) complex to enhance fluorescence visualization during laparoscopic anatomical liver resection. Methods: This prospective, double-blind, single-center, randomized controlled trial will compare the fluorescence navigation effects of the novel ICG-HSA complex with the guideline-recommended ICG administration scheme. The study will involve patients aged 18 to 75 years with malignant liver tumors. The participants will undergo evaluations at specified time points, and data will be collected using an internet-based electronic data capture system. The primary outcome will be the effectiveness of intraoperative fluorescence imaging, assessed by three independent experts. The secondary outcomes will be conversion to open surgery, the total operative time, intraoperative blood loss, and long-term survival rates. Discussion: The aim of using this novel ICG-HSA complex will be to improve the success rate of fluorescence navigation in liver resection by ensuring better stability and a longer liver retention time compared with free ICG. This study seeks to validate the clinical value of ICG-HSA in enhancing surgical precision and outcomes, ultimately promoting its broader clinical application. Preaxial polydactyly (PPD) is a congenital limb malformation, previously reported to be caused primarily by variants in the ZRS and upstream preZRS regions. This study investigated genetic variations associated with PPD, focusing on point variants and copy number variations (CNVs) in the ZRS and preZRS regions. Comprehensive genetic analyses were conducted on 102 patients with PPD, including detailed clinical examinations and Sanger sequencing of the ZRS and preZRS regions. Additionally, real-time quantitative PCR (qPCR) was used to detect CNVs in the ZRS region. The evolutionary conservation and population frequencies of identified variants were also evaluated. Six point variants were identified, among which four are likely pathogenic novel variants: 93G > T (g.156584477G > T), 106G > A (g.156584464G > A), 278G > A (g.156584292G > A), and 409A > C (g.156585378A > C). Additionally, qPCR analysis revealed that 66.67% of patients exhibited ZRS duplications. Notably, these duplications were also present in cases with newly identified potential pathogenic point variants. These findings suggest the possible interaction of point variants in ZRS and preZRS through a common pathogenic mechanism, leading jointly to PPD. The findings expand the variant spectrum associated with non-syndromic polydactyly and highlight that, despite different classifications, anterior polydactyly caused by variants in ZRS and nearby regions may share common pathogenic mechanisms. The incorporation of various variant types in genetic screening can effectively enhance the rate of pathogenic variant detection and contribute to the cost-effectiveness of genetic testing for limb developmental defects, thereby promoting healthy births. Background: This study aimed to investigate the feasibility and efficacy of near-infrared fluorescence-guided laparoscopic anatomical hepatectomy (LAH) using a novel indocyanine green (ICG)-human serum albumin complex (HSA) in patients with hepatocellular carcinoma. Methods: Clinical data of hepatocellular carcinoma patients who underwent ICG-HSA fluorescence-guided LAH at our center from January 2024 to April 2024 were prospectively collected and analyzed. Ultraviolet absorption spectroscopy was used to test the absorption and stability of ICG-HSA complex solutions under different conditions. After determining the optimal ratio, the complex was administered intravenously during surgery to perform negative staining via Glissonean pedicle isolation. LAH was performed along the fluorescence-demarcated boundaries. Results: Thirty-one patients were included (24 men; mean age, 54.61 ± 13.54 years). The median maximum tumor diameter was 2.80 (interquartile range [IQR], 2.00–4.00) cm. S8 segmentectomy (22.6%) and right posterior segmentectomy (19.4%) were the most common resections performed. Successful fluorescence negative staining was achieved in all patients using ICG and HSA at a 1:6 molar ratio at room temperature. Mean operation time was 297.58 ± 85.53 min, Median intraoperative blood loss was 100.0 mL (IQR, 50.0–200.0). The median surgical margin distance was 0.90 cm (IQR, 0.40–1.50). The postoperative complication rate was 45.2% (35.5% Clavien–Dindo grade I and 9.7% grade II). The median length of hospital stay was 5.0 days (IQR, 4.0–5.0). Conclusion: ICG-HSA-assisted LAH is safe and feasible. Compared with free ICG, the novel ICG-HSA complex exhibits better optical properties and in vivo stability, which can improve the accuracy of intraoperative liver segment localization and optimize the anatomical dissection plane. Background: Congenital lung malformation (CLM) is usually characterized by single-lobe involvement and multilobe involvement is uncommon. There is a lack of experience in the clinical features and surgical treatment of unilateral multilobar CLM. Therefore, this study aims to summarize the clinical characteristics and evaluate the safety and feasibility of thoracoscopic lung sparing resection in the treatment of unilateral multilobar CLM. Methods: A retrospective study was conducted on 34 patients with unilateral multilobar CLM, and 34 unilobar patients were randomly selected as the control group in West China Hospital of Sichuan University from 2014.1 to 2021.1. Clinical, operation and follow-up outcomes were compared between the two groups. Results: Twelve (35.2%) patients developed preoperative symptoms in the multilobar group more than 4(11.7%) the unilobar group (p = 0.02), the main preoperative symptom was infection; The multilobar group and unilobar group showed significant differences in mean intraoperative blood loss (13.3 mL vs. 7.5 mL; p = 0.02) and mean surgical time (95.6 min vs. 47.5 min; p = 0.037). The median length of postoperative hospital stay and the median chest tube placement time in the multilobar group were significantly longer (5 d vs.3 d, p = 0.045; 2 d vs.1 d, p = 0.031). There were one (2.9%) patient in unilobar group and 4(11.7%) patients in multilobar group developed complications postoperatively, which is no significant differences between the two groups(p = 0.16). No complications such as thoracic deformity, mediastinal deviation, scoliosis or recurrence were observed in either group at follow-up. Conclusions: Unilateral multilobar CLM cases are more susceptible to develop symptoms than unilobar cases. Thoracoscopic lung sparing resection in the treatment of unilateral multilobar CLM has high safety and can effectively avoid serious complications of unilateral multiple lobectomy or pneumonectomy. Background: Gallbladder cancer (GBC) is a highly aggressive malignancy, with limited survival profiles after curative surgeries. This study aimed to develop a practical model for predicting the postoperative overall survival (OS) in GBC patients. Methods: Patients from three hospitals were included. Two centers (N = 102 and 100) were adopted for model development and internal validation, and the third center (N = 85) was used for external testing. Univariate and stepwise multivariate Cox regression were used for feature selection. A nomogram for 1-, 3-, and 5-year postoperative survival rates was constructed accordingly. Performance assessment included Harrell's concordance index (C-index), receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curves and calibration curves. Kaplan-Meier curves were utilized to evaluate the risk stratification results of the nomogram. Decision curves were used to reflect the net benefit. Results: Eight factors, TNM stage, age-adjusted Charlson Comorbidity Index (aCCI), body mass index (BMI), R0 resection, blood platelet count, and serum levels of albumin, CA125, CA199 were incorporated in the nomogram. The time-dependent C-index consistently exceeded 0.70 from 6 months to 5 years, and time-dependent ROC revealed an area under the curve (AUC) of over 75% for 1-, 3-, and 5-year survival. The calibration curves, Kaplan-Meier curves and decision curves also indicated good prognostic performance and clinical benefit, surpassing traditional indicators TNM staging and CA199 levels. The reliability of results was further proved in the independent external testing set. Conclusions: The novel nomogram exhibited good prognostic efficacy and robust generalizability in GBC patients, which might be a promising tool for aiding clinical decision-making. Purpose: The recent focus on the roles of N-linked glycoproteins in carcinogenesis across various malignancies has prompted our exploration of aberrantly expressed glycoproteins responsible for HCC progression and potential therapeutic strategy. Methods: Mass spectrometry was applied to initially identify abnormally expressed glycoproteins in HCC, which was further assessed by immunohistochemistry (IHC) staining. The role of selected glycoprotein on HCC development and underlying mechanism was systematically investigated by colony formation, mouse xenograft, RNA-sequencing and western blot assays, etc. Chromatin immunoprecipitation (ChIP) and luciferase assays were performed to explore potential transcription factors (TFs) of selected glycoprotein. The regulation of repaglinide (RPG) on expression of lumican and downstream effectors was assessed by western blot and IHC, while its impact on malignant phenotypes of HCC was explored through in vitro and in vivo analyses, including a murine NASH-HCC model established using western diet and carbon tetrachloride (CCl4). Results: Lumican exhibited upregulation in both serum and tumor tissue, with elevated expression associated with an inferior prognosis in HCC patients. Knockdown of lumican resulted in significantly reduced growth of HCC in vitro and in vivo. Mechanically, lumican promoted HCC malignant phenotypes by inhibiting the p53/p21 signaling pathway. Forkhead Box O3 (FOXO3) was identified as the TF of lumican that transcriptionally enhanced its expression. Without silencing FOXO3, RPG blocked the binding of FOXO3 to the promoter region of lumican, thereby inhibiting the activation of lumican/p53/p21 axis. Mice treated with RPG developed fewer and smaller HCCs than those in the control group at 24 weeks after establishment. Background: Portal hypertension (PHT) has been proven to be closely related to the development of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). Whether PHT before liver transplantation (LT) will affect the recurrence of HCC is not clear. Methods: 110 patients with depressurization of the portal vein (DPV) operations (Transjugular Intrahepatic Portosystemic Shunt—TIPS, surgical portosystemic shunt or/and splenectomy) before LT from a HCC LT cohort, matched with 330 preoperative non-DPV patients; this constituted a nested case-control study. Subgroup analysis was based on the order of DPV before or after the occurrence of HCC. Results: The incidence of acute kidney injury and intra-abdominal bleeding after LT in the DPV group was significantly higher than that in non-DPV group. The 5-year survival rates in the DPV and non-DPV group were 83.4% and 82.7% respectively (P = 0.930). In subgroup analysis, patients in the DPV prior to HCC subgroup may have a lower recurrence rate (4.7% vs.16.8%, P = 0.045) and a higher tumor free survival rate (88.9% vs.74.4%, P = 0.044) after LT under the up-to-date TNMI–II stage, while in TNM III stage, there was no difference for DPV prior to HCC subgroup compared with the DPV after HCC subgroup or the non-DPV group. Conclusion: Compared with DPV after HCC, DPV treatment before HCC can reduce the recurrence rate of HCC after early transplantation (TNM I-II). DPV before LT can reduce the recurrence of early HCC. Recent studies suggest that circular RNA (circRNA)‐mediated post‐translational modification of RNA‐binding proteins (RBP) plays a pivotal role in metastasis of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). However, the specific mechanism and potential clinical therapeutic significance remain vague. This study attempts to profile the regulatory networks of circRNA and RBP using a multi‐omics approach. Has_circ_0006646 (circ0006646) is an unreported circRNA in HCC and is associated with a poor prognosis. Silencing of circ0006646 significantly hinders metastasis in vivo. Mechanistically, circ0006646 prevents the interaction between nucleolin (NCL) and the E3 ligase tripartite motif‐containing 21 to reduce the proteasome‐mediated degradation of NCL via K48‐linked polyubiquitylation. Furthermore, the change of NCL expression is proven to affect the phosphorylation levels of multiple proteins and inhibit p53 translation. Moreover, patient‐derived tumor xenograft and lentivirus injection, which is conducted to simulate clinical treatment confirmed the potential therapeutic value. Overall, this study describes the integrated multi‐omics landscape of circRNA‐mediated NCL ubiquitination degradation in HCC metastasis and provides a novel therapeutic target. Metastasis of hepatoblastoma (HB) is a key factor that impairs the prognosis and treatment of children. The suppressor of cytokine signaling 2 (SOCS2) is a classical negative feedback protein that regulates cytokine signal transduction and has been known to be downregulated in several tumor, but the molecular mechanisms of its involvement in HB metastasis are unknown. We found that SOCS2 was a gene down-regulated in hepatoblastoma and associated with HB metastasis through bioinformatics. The qRT-PCR, Western blot and IHC showed that SOCS2 was significantly lower in HB tissues. Clinicopathological correlation analysis revealed that low expression of SOCS2 was significantly correlated with tumor metastasis (P = 0.046) and vascular invasion (P = 0.028), associated with poor prognosis. Overexpression of SOCS2 inhibited the migration and invasion of hepatoblastoma cells, while knockdown of SOCS2 expression promoted these malignant phenotypes. In vivo studies revealed overexpression of SOCS2 inhibited the formation of lung metastasis. Up-regulation of SOCS2 in HB cell inhibited EMT and JAK2/STAT5. Conversely, down-regulation of SOCS2 promoted EMT and JAK2/STAT5. The addition of the JAK2 inhibitor Fedratinib partially reversed the effects of si-SOCS2 on HB cells. SOCS2 may inhibit the migration and invasion of HB cells by inhibiting the JAK2/STAT5 signaling pathway. These results may provide guiding significance for the clinical treatment of HB. Background/Purpose: Congenital biliary dilatation (CBD) is a bile duct malformation often associated with pancreaticobiliary maljunction. Different subtypes of CBD have been noted for clinical differences, but their pathogenic mechanisms are unclear. Methods: To elucidate the genetic basis of CBD, we performed lncRNA and mRNA sequencing and bioinformatic analysis on 18 cystic and 18 fusiform CBD samples. Results: We identified differentially expressed mRNAs and lncRNAs between the two types of CBD, and constructed coexpression modules that correlated with clinical characteristics of CBD using weighted gene coexpression network analysis. We found that the brown module was the highest positive correlation with fusiform CBD (R = 0.67, p = 7.9e–6) and contained the most genes. We then built a lncRNA–mRNA coexpression network to identify potential target genes of lncRNAs in CBD, and a protein–protein interaction network to investigate the hub genes from the target genes and the brown module. Finally, we performed enrichment analyses and found differences between cystic and fusiform CBD in hepatobiliary system development, liver and pancreas development involving hub genes ONECUT1 and HNF1B that could be regulated by corresponding lncRNAs. Conclusion: Our study suggests that lncRNAs may modulate pancreaticobiliary duct development differently in cystic and fusiform CBD, providing new insights for etiology studies and clinical treatment. Lipoprotein(a) (Lp[a]) is a particle consisting of a low‐density lipoprotein (LDL)‐like core connected to an apolipoprotein(a) chain, which is an established risk factor for cardiovascular disease. However, studies addressing the relationship between atrial fibrillation (AF) and Lp(a) demonstrated conflicted results. Thus, we sought to evaluate this relationship by conducting this systemic review and meta‐analysis. We performed a comprehensive systematic search of health science databases, including PubMed, Embase, Cochrane Library, Web of Science, MEDLINE, and ScienceDirect, to identify all relevant literature from their inception to March 1, 2023. We identified nine related articles, which were eventually included in this study. Our study showed no association between Lp(a) with new‐onset AF (HR = 1.45, 95% confidence interval [CI]: 0.57–3.67, p =.432). In addition, genetically elevated Lp(a) was not associated with the risk of atrial fibrillation (OR = 1.00, 95% CI: 1.00–1.00, p =.461). Different stratification of Lp(a) levels may have different outcomes. Also, higher Lp(a) levels may be inversely associated with the risk of developing AF compared to those with lower levels. Lp(a) levels were not associated with incident AF. Further research is needed to identify the mechanism underlying these results and better understand Lp(a) stratification for AF and the possible inverse association between Lp(a) and AF. In order to solve poor coordination between the exoskeleton and the human leg, this article analyzed the spatiotemporal characteristics of lower limb motion using data collection from human walking gait experiments. According to the macro- and micro-motion mechanisms of the knee joint, six knee exoskeleton configurations were proposed. Combined with the analysis of gait characteristics, mathematical models for lower limb kinematics and dynamics were established and verified with numerical simulation. Using human–machine coupling simulation experiments, different knee exoskeleton devices were simulated for wear, and a configuration of the exoskeleton mechanism compatible with human knee motion was selected, which improved human–machine adaptability and coordination. Background: Inattention has been given to the pathogenesis of adolescent and young adult (AYA) hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). Due to the more advanced tumor progression and poorer prognosis of AYA-HCC, together with a better tolerance ability, noncirrhotic background, and a stronger willingness to treat AYA-HCC, clinical and molecular biology studies are urgent and necessary, especially for those with hepatitis B infection. Methods: For clinical aspects, the overall survival, the recurrence-free survival, and the Cox analyses were performed. Then, functional analysis, gene clustering, metabolic-related analysis, immune infiltration and competing endogenous RNA (ceRNA) construction were carried out using whole transcriptome sequencing technique. Results: Based on the clinical information of our HCC cohort, the overall survival and recurrence-free survival rates were worse in the AYA group than in the elderly group as previously described. According to our whole transcriptome sequencing results, functional analysis revealed that metabolism-related pathways as well as protein translation and endoplasmic reticulum processing were enriched. Then the hub metabolism-related genes were screened by metabolite–protein interactions (MPIs) and protein–protein interactions (PPIs). Fatty acid metabolism is a crucial component of metabolic pathways, abnormalities of which may be the reason for the worse prognosis of HBV-AYA HCC. Finally, the relationship of disrupted expression of metabolism-related genes with immune infiltration was also analyzed, and the lncRNA‒miRNA‒mRNA-related ceRNA network for HBV-AYA HCC was constructed, which may provide new cues for HBV-AHA HCC prevention. Conclusion: The worse prognosis and recurrence rate of HBV-AYA HCC may be related to abnormalities in metabolism-related pathways, especially disorders of fatty acid metabolism. Aims: To determine the relationship between microvascular invasion (MVI) and the clinical features of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) and provide a method to evaluate MVI status by neutral network analysis. Methods: The patients were divided into two groups (MVI-positive group and MVI-negative group). Univariate analysis and multivariate logistic regression analysis were carried out to identify the independent risk factors for MVI positivity. Neural network analysis was used to analyze the different importance of the risk factors in MVI prediction. Results: We enrolled 1697 patients in this study. We found that the independent prognostic factors were age, NEU, multiple tumors, AFP level and tumor diameter. By neural network analysis, we proposed that the level of AFP was the most important risk factor for HCC in predicting MVI status (the AUC was 0.704). However, age was the most important risk factor for early-stage HCC with a single tumor (the AUC was 0.605). Conclusion: Through the neutral network analysis, we could conclude that the level of AFP is the most important risk factor for MVI-positive patients and the age is the most important risk factor for early-stage HCC with a single tumor. Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) remains a global health challenge with a low early diagnosis rate and high mortality. The Rab GTPase (RAB) family plays an essential role in the occurrence and progression of HCC. Nonetheless, a comprehensive and systematic investigation of the RAB family has yet to be performed in HCC. We comprehensively assessed the expression landscape and prognostic significance of the RAB family in HCC and systematically correlated these RAB family genes with tumor microenvironment (TME) characteristics. Then, three RAB subtypes with distinct TME characteristics were determined. Using a machine learning algorithm, we further established a RAB score to quantify TME features and immune responses of individual tumors. Moreover, to better evaluate patient prognosis, we established a RAB risk score as an independent prognostic factor for patients with HCC. The risk models were validated in independent HCC cohorts and distinct HCC subgroups, and their complementary advantages guided clinical practice. Furthermore, we further confirmed that the knockdown of RAB13, a pivotal gene in risk models, suppressed HCC cell proliferation and metastasis by inhibiting the PI3K/AKT signaling pathway, CDK1/CDK4 expression, and epithelial-mesenchymal transition. In addition, RAB13 inhibited the activation of JAK2/STAT3 signaling and the expression of IRF1/IRF4. Paragangliomas are highly vascularised and often heritable tumors derived from the paraganglia. They are typically discovered in the retroperitoneal space as well as the head and neck region but are rarely encountered in the liver parenchyma. We report a case of a primary functioning hepatic paraganglioma and provide an up-to-date literature review of patients with such tumors. We present a case of functioning paraganglioma in a 34-year-old female patient who suffered a solitary lesion in her left lateral lobe with symptoms of hypertension since pregnancy. She did not have any family history and her pre-pregnancy examination was negative. An abdominal CT imaging revealed a 6.5 × 5.7 cm liver lesion in segments II and III. Laboratory investigations identified elevation in plasma-free catecholamines. With sufficient preoperative preparation, the patient underwent laparoscopic left hemihepatectomy. Immunohistochemical staining revealed Syn (+) tumor cell nests surrounded by S-100 sustentacular cells (+), providing a definitive diagnosis of paraganglioma. The patient recovered uneventfully without signs of recurrence during a 1-year follow-up period. Our case demonstrates that primary refractory hypertension in pregnancy should be screened for paraganglioma through abdominal ultrasound and plasma free catecholamines. Background: Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is the world's third leading cause of cancer-related death; due to the fast growth and high prevalence of tumor recurrence, the prognosis of HCC patients remains dismal. Long non-coding RNA CEBPA-DT, a divergent transcript of the CCAAT Enhancer Binding Protein Alpha (CEBPA) gene, has been shown to participate in multiple tumor progression. However, no research has established its cancer-promoting mechanism in HCC yet. Methods: CEBPA-DT was identified in human HCC tissues through RNA sequencing. The expression level of CEBPA-DT was assessed by quantitative real-time PCR. The biological effects of CEBPA-DT were evaluated in vitro and in vivo through gain or loss of function experiments. RNA fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH), RNA immunoprecipitation (RIP) and RNA pull-down assays were applied to investigate the downstream target of CEBPA-DT. Immunofluorescence, subcellular protein fractionation, western blot, and co-immunoprecipitation were performed to analyze the subcellular location of β-catenin and its interaction with Discoidin domain-containing receptor 2 (DDR2). Results: CEBPA-DT was upregulated in human HCC tissues with postoperative distant metastasis and intimately related to the worse prognosis of HCC patients. Silencing of CEBPA-DT inhibited the growth, migration and invasion of hepatoma cells in vitro and in vivo, while enhancement of CEBPA-DT played a contrasting role. Mechanistic investigations demonstrated that CEBPA-DT could bind to heterogeneous nuclear ribonucleoprotein C (hnRNPC), which facilitated cytoplasmic translocation of hnRNPC, enhanced the interaction between hnRNPC and DDR2 mRNA, subsequently promoted the expression of DDR2. Meanwhile, CEBPA-DT induced epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) process through upregulation of Snail1 via facilitating nuclear translocation of β-catenin. Using DDR2 inhibitor, we revealed that the CEBPA-DT induced the interaction between DDR2 and β-catenin, thus promoting the nuclear translocation of β-catenin to activate transcription of Snail1, contributing to EMT and HCC metastasis. Conclusions: Our results suggested that CEBPA-DT promoted HCC metastasis through DDR2/β-catenin mediated activation of Snail1 via interaction with hnRNPC, indicating that the CEBPA-DT-hnRNPC-DDR2/β-catenin axis may be used as a potential therapeutic target for HCC treatment. The soybean E1 gene is a major regulator that plays an important role in flowering time and maturity. However, it remains unclear how cultivars carrying the dominant E1 allele adapt to the higher latitudinal areas of northern China. We mapped the novel quantitative trait locus QNE1 (QTL near E1) for flowering time to the region proximal to E1 on chromosome 6 in two mapping populations. Positional cloning revealed Glyma.06G204300, encoding a TCP-type transcription factor, as a strong candidate gene for QNE1. Association analysis further confirmed that functional single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) at nucleotides 686 and 1,063 in the coding region of Glyma.06G204300 were significantly associated with flowering time. The protein encoded by the candidate gene is localized primarily to the nucleus. Furthermore, soybean and Brassica napus plants overexpressing Glyma.06G204300 exhibited early flowering. We conclude that despite their similar effects on flowering time, QNE1 and E4 may control flowering time through different regulatory mechanisms, based on expression studies and weighted gene co-expression network analysis of flowering time-related genes. Deciphering the molecular basis of QNE1 control of flowering time enriches our knowledge of flowering gene networks in soybean and will facilitate breeding soybean cultivars with broader latitudinal adaptation. Deciphering the genetic basis underlying agronomic traits is of importance for soybean improvement. However, covariation, modulated by genetic correlations between complicated traits via hub QTLs, commonly affects the efficiency and accuracy of soybean improvement. The goals of soybean improvement have nearly all focused on agronomic traits, including yield, plant type traits, and seed-related traits especially. To decipher the hub QTLs of yield, plant type, and seed, nine pertinent traits of an F2 population (181 plants) derived from a cross between KeXin No.03 and JiDou 17, which were different in multiple traits such as plant height, seed protein, and 100-seed weight, were investigated with a high-density genetic map covering 2708.63 cM. A highly significant negative phenotypic correlation (−0.95) was found between seed protein (Pro) and seed oil (Oil). A total of 35 final QTLs after combining the ones closely linked physically were identified for eight traits explaining from 0.10% to 24.63% of the phenotypic variance explained (PVE) using composite interval mapping (CIM) and inclusive composite interval mapping (ICIM) procedures, and 13 QTLs were novel genes. A genomic region on chromosome 14 (qPro14, qOil14.2, and qSw14) was associated with three seed-related traits based on the relationship within and among the three trait modules. In addition, four genomic regions were detected as hub QTLs which linked to the seed-related module and plant-type model, including the E loci (E1 and E2). From the QTL results, 31 candidate genes were annotated, including the verified genes E1, E2, and QNE1, and they were grouped into three categories of biological processes. These results illustrate the genetic architecture as correlations among various soybean traits, and the hub QTLs should provide insights into the genetic improvement of complex traits in soybean. Background and Objective: The study aims to investigate the correlation between Hepatitis B 'e' antigen (HBeAg) and HBV DNA levels, and to find a convenient tool to estimate the HBV DNA level for clinicians. Materials and Methods: We enrolled 1020 patients in this cross-sectional study and divided them into four groups: an HbeAg-positive and -negative group, and high and low HBV DNA levels groups. Results: Alanine aminotransferase (ALT), Albumin (ALB) and HBeAg are independent risk factors for CHB patients. When the level of HBeAg is higher than 16.15 S/CO, it is four times more likely that the patients will have high levels of HBV DNA than those who do not. The ALT and TB are independent risk factors in HBeAg-negative patients with a high HBV DNA level. We have drawn three predictive models to estimate the HBV DNA levels for those with the chronic hepatitis B virus (CHB), and those that are HBeAg-positive and HBeAg-negative (Y1 = 0.004 × ALT(IU/L) + 1.412 × HBeAg (S/CO) − 0.029 × ALB (g/L) + 0.779, the AUC is 0.672, and the cutoff value is −0.072, there the sensitivity is 0.615, the specificity is 0.648, PPV is 65.182% and NPV is 60.837%; Y2 = 0.007 × HBeAg (S/CO) − 0.016 × HGB (g/L) + 3.070, the AUC is 0.724, and the cutoff value is 1.216, where the sensitivity is 0.626, the specificity is 0.897, PPV is 94.118% and NPV is 34.437%; Y3 = −0.005 × ALT(IU/L) + 0.006 × TB (umol/L) + 0.385, the AUC is 0.661, and the cutoff value is 0.263, where the sensitivity is 0.677, the specificity is 0.587, PPV is 66.820% and NPV is 40.774%, respectively). We propose that HBeAg is the most important risk factor for the patient with a high HBV DNA level, however, it is not as important in the HBeAg-positive group. Background: The role of hepatic resection (HR) combined with radiofrequency ablation (RFA) versus HR alone remains unclear for patients with multifocal hepatocellular carcinomas (HCCs). The aim of this study was to assess the outcomes of selected patients with moderately advanced multifocal HCCs after HR combined with intraoperative RFA versus HR alone. Methods: A total of 304 selected patients with multifocal HCCs (three or fewer lesions, with the largest lesion > 4.5 cm and the residual lesion[s] ≤ 3 cm) who underwent HR plus RFA (HR+RFA group) or HR alone (HR group) were included. Propensity score matching (PSM) was used to adjust for baseline differences. Multivariable and subgroup analyses estimated the effects of clinical factors on survival. Results: Both overall survival (OS) and recurrence-free survival (RFS) were comparable between both groups before and after PSM. Subgroup analysis showed that HR was associated with better RFS than HR+RFA for those patients with two tumors, or with all lesions located in the same lobe or without microvascular invasion (MVI) [all p < 0.05]. Moreover, en bloc resection provided a higher RFS than separate resection for those with all lesions in the same lobe (p = 0.039). Conclusion: For selected patients with moderately advanced multifocal HCCs, HR+RFA may offer similar OS and RFS as HR alone. However, HR may be more suitable for those with two tumors, or with all lesions in the same lobe or without MVI. Introduction: Immunotherapy has become a new therapy for advanced hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC); however, its treatment results are considerably different. CD4+ T cells (CD4+) are the key to immunotherapy, but patients with HCC that have low CD4+ are rarely observed for clinical evidence. Hepatitis B virus-related HCC is often accompanied by cirrhosis and portal hypertension; therefore, CD4+ tend to be relatively low in number. TACE is the standard treatment for Barcelona Clinic Liver Cancer (BCLC)-B HCC, which may further reduce the number of CD4 + .Methods: This retrospective cohort study further reduced CD4+ by including patients with human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) to observe the relationship between CD4+ and Chronic hepatitis B virus (CHB) induced HCC. A total of 170 BCLC-B HCC patients (42 HIV+) were included. Univariate and multivariate analyses, and artificial neural networks (ANNs) were used to evaluate the independent risk factors for the two-year survival.Results: The statistical analysis of the two-year survival rate showed that the main factors influencing survival were liver function and immune indices, including CD4+, platelet, alanine aminotransferase, aspartate aminotransferase, aspartate aminotransferase-to-platelet ratio index, and fibrosis-4 (FIB-4) (P < 0.05). Compared with that in other indices, in logistic and ANN multivariate analysis, CD4 + -to-FIB-4 ratio (CD4+/FIB-4) had the highest importance with 0.716 C-statistic and 145.93 cut-off value. In terms of overall survival rate, HIV infection was not a risk factor (P = 0.589); however, CD4+/FIB-4 ≤ 145.93 significantly affected patient prognosis (P = 0.002).Conclusion: HIV infection does not affect the prognosis of BCLC-B HCC, but CD4+ have a significant predictive value. CD4+ played a vital role in HCC and this deserves the attention from physicians. Further, the CD4+/FIB-4 is a clinically valuable effective prognostic indicator for these patients. Objective: The predicting values of programmed cell death protein 1 (PD-1) and programmed death-ligand 1(PD-L1) were unclear in Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) patients who receive sorafenib treatment after curative hepatic resection. Methods: We retrospectively enrolled HCC patients who received adjuvant sorafenib treatment after curative resection (N = 154), and patients had resection alone (N = 312). Immunohistochemistry was used to assess expression of PD-1 on tumor infiltration immune cells and PD-L1 on HCC cells. Cox proportional hazard models were used to explore association between clinicopathological factors and risk of tumor recurrence. Results: No significant difference was detected in RFS (p = 0.542), or OS (p = 0.542) between the resection and sorafenib group and resection alone group. In the 154 patients who received adjuvant sorafenib, expression of PD-1 or PD-L1 was not significantly associated with long-term outcomes. However, in the 122 patients at high risk of postoperative recurrence who had adjuvant sorafenib treatment, characterized by maxim tumor size ≥5 cm, or the presence of macro- or micro-vascular invasion, patients with PD-L1 overexpression (≥3.0) had significantly worse RFS (p = 0.021), and overexpression of PD-L1 (HR: 1.88, 95%CI: 1.18–2.99, p = 0.008) was identified as an independent risk factor associated with unfavorable RFS. Conclusion: Overexpression of PD-L1 serves as an independent predictor of recurrence in HCC patients at high risk of relapse who received adjuvant sorafenib treatment after curative resection. Ultrasound contrast agent microbubbles are considered promising sensors to measure portal vein pressure noninvasively. In this study, we investigated the subharmonic scattering power and optimal incident acoustic pressure of SonoVue microbubbles (concentration: $1~\mu \text{L}$ /mL 0.9% NaCl solution) in the ambient pressure range of 10–40 mmHg with 10-mmHg increments at a temperature of 25 °C. The results demonstrated that the subharmonic response of the SonoVue microbubbles existed in three stages: the first growth stage (40–300 kPa), saturation (300–400 kPa), and the second growth stage (400–540 kPa). In the first growth stage, the subharmonic amplitude increased with ambient pressure. However, while the ambient pressure increased, the subharmonic amplitude decreased in the second growth stage. The best correlation of the subharmonic amplitudes with the ambient pressures was obtained at a high incident acoustic pressure of 520 kPa (sensitivity: 0.15 dB/mmHg, ${r}^{{{2}}} =0.99$ , and root-mean-square error = 0.49 mmHg), which indicated that the subharmonic signals in the second growth stage might be suitable for estimating low ambient pressures. Background: To investigate the effect of extubation in the operating room (OR) on mechanical ventilation-related adverse outcomes in patients who undergo liver transplantation. Methods: Patients who underwent liver transplantation between January 2016 and December 2019 were included. According to the timing of extubation, patients were divided into OR extubation group and intensive care unit (ICU) extubation group. The propensity score was used to match OR extubation group and ICU extubation group at a 1:2 ratio by demographical and clinical covariates. The primary outcome was a composite of mechanical ventilation-related adverse outcomes, including 30-day all-cause mortality, in-hospital acute kidney injury (stage 2 or 3), and in-hospital moderate to severe pulmonary complications. Secondary outcomes included in-hospital moderate to severe infectious complications, unplanned reintubation rates, ICU and postoperative hospital lengths of stay, and total hospital cost. Results: A total of 438 patients were enrolled. After propensity score matching, 94 patients were in OR extubation group and 148 patients were in ICU extubation group. Incidence of the composite mechanical ventilation-related adverse outcomes was significantly lower in OR extubation group than ICU extubation group, even after adjusting for confounding factors (19.1% vs. 31.8%; Odds Ratio, 0.509; 95% Confidence Index [CI], 0.274-0.946; P=0.031). The duration of ICU stay was much shorter in OR extubation group than ICU extubation group (median 4, Interquartile range [IQR] (3 ~ 6) vs. median 6, IQR (4 ~ 8); P<0.001). Background: An elevated preoperative aspartate aminotransferase‐to‐lymphocyte ratio index (ALRI) may predict poor survival in various cancers. However, the prognostic value of aminotransferase‐to‐lymphocyte ratio index (ALRI) in patients with hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) remains to be determined. Materials and methods: A retrospective cohort study was conducted among 983 patients with HCC in our hospital from February 2007 to March 2016. A propensity‐score matching (PSM) was performed to correct the selection bias and confounding factors. The risk of death and recurrence was plotted over aminotransferase‐to‐lymphocyte ratio index (ALRI) using the locally weighted scatterplot smoothing (LOWESS)‐smoothed fit curve. Time‐dependent receiver operating characteristic (ROC) and Kaplan–Meier method analysis was utilized to the role of aminotransferase‐to‐lymphocyte ratio index (ALRI) in HCC. Multivariate analysis was conducted to identify independent prognostic factors associated with overall survival (OS) and recurrence‐free survival (RFS). Results: With the increase of aminotransferase‐to‐lymphocyte ratio index (ALRI), the risk of recurrence and death in HCC patients increases. In time‐dependent ROC analysis, the AUC of aminotransferase‐to‐lymphocyte ratio index (ALRI) for predicting 1‐, 3‐ and 5‐year OS were 0.668 (95% CI: 0.596‐0.740), 0.605 (95% CI: 0.560‐0.649) and 0.613 (95% CI: 0.570‐0.656), respective. The AUC of aminotransferase‐to‐lymphocyte ratio index (ALRI) for predicting 1‐, 3‐ and 5‐year RFS were 0.598 (95% CI: 0.555‐0.641), 0.590 (95% CI: 0.552‐0.628) and 0.604 (95% CI: 0.562‐0.646), respectively. HCC patients with high aminotransferase‐to‐lymphocyte ratio index (ALRI) had a poor overall survival. Moreover, cox regression analysis revealed that aminotransferase‐to‐lymphocyte ratio index (ALRI) was an independent factor affecting the prognosis of HCC patients. Background: Postoperative oral antiviral treatment with nucleoside or nucleotide analogues can suppress viral replication and reduce tumour recurrence for patients with hepatitis b virus-related hepatocellular carcinoma (HBV-related HCC) after curative resection. However, the superior antiviral treatment is still unclear. We conducted this study to investigate the different effects of nucleotide and nucleoside analogues on the prognosis of HBV-related HCC after curative resection.Methods: From February 2007 to February 2016, 487 consecutive patients with newly diagnosed HCC according to the Milan criteria who underwent R0 resection were enrolled according to the inclusion and exclusion criteria. According to their postoperative antiviral treatment, they were divided into the nucleotide group (NtA, n = 111) and the nucleoside group (NsA, n = 376).Results: The baseline characteristics, serologic parameters, tumour characteristics, and operative data of the 2 groups were comparable. Nucleotide analogue use significantly decreased HCC recurrence (P = 0.028) and HCC-related death (P = 0.004), with hazard ratios (HRs) of 0.685 (95% CI, 0.484 to 0.971, P = 0.033) and 0.507 (95% CI, 0.310 to 0.830, P = 0.004), respectively, in multivariate Cox analyses. After the study patients were stratified according to three variables, we found that nucleotide analogue use was significantly associated with increased disease-free and overall survival among patients with cirrhosis, HBeAg-negative patients, and patients with positive HBV-DNA.Conclusions: In patients with HBV-related HCC, nucleotide analogues but not nucleoside analogues significantly reduced HCC recurrence and improved overall survival after R0 hepatic resection. Background: How much difference there is between hepatic resection (HR) combined with intraoperative radiofrequency ablation (RFA) and living donor liver transplantation (LDLT) in treatment of multifocal hepatocellular carcinomas (HCCs) remains unclear. This study compared outcomes for patients with multifocal HCCs meeting the University of California San Francisco (UCSF) criteria treated by LDLT or HR + RFA. Methods: A total of 126 consecutive Child–Pugh A patients with multifocal HCCs meeting the UCSF criteria, who underwent LDLT (n = 51) or HR + RFA (n = 75), were included. Propensity score (PS) matching was performed to adjust for baseline differences. Overall survival (OS) and recurrence-free survival (RFS) were calculated, and subgroup, multivariate and nomogram analyses were performed. Results: LDLT provided significantly better OS and RFS than did HR + RFA before and after PS matching and reduced the dropout rate on waiting list, but HR + RFA was more convenient, less invasive and less cost. Patients with all lesions located in the same lobe had better OS and RFS than those located in the different lobes after HR + RFA. Multivariate and nomogram analyses revealed that HR + RFA, alpha-fetoprotein ≥ 400 ng/mL, the major tumour size > 3 cm and microvascular invasion were independent predictors of poor prognosis. Conclusion: For Child–Pugh A patients with multiple HCCs meeting the UCSF criteria, LDLT may offer significantly better long-term results than did HR + RFA, and HR + RFA may still be considered as an acceptable curative therapy for those without considering transplantation or as a bridge treatment for a patient, with a plan for transplantation in the future. The surgical treatment and transcatheter arterial chemoembolization (TACE) rate of human immunodeficiency virus (HIV)-infected hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) patients is relatively low in West China. For various reasons, most patients do not receive timely surgical treatment. Upon transfer to an infectious disease centralized hospital, they were already classified in the Barcelona Clinic Liver Cancer (BCLC)-B stage. A total of 2249 BCLC-B HCC patients were analyzed. The eligible population was divided into three groups for analysis of survival and prognostic factors; These were 21 HIV infected (HIV+) HCC patients treated with TACE (TACE+), 1293 non-HIV-infected (HIV−) HCC patients treated with TACE, and 150 HIV− HCC patients who only receive medication (TACE−) as a second control group. After 1:2 matching, 1- and 2-year survival of HIV+ TACE+ and HIV− TACE+ groups was 64.3% and 76.5% (P = 0.453) and 45.5% vs. 50.0% (P = 0.790) respectively. We also compared one and two-year survival between HIV+ TACE+ and HIV− TACE−. One-year overall survival was 64.3% vs. 45.7% (P = 0.097) and 2-year survival was 45.5% vs. 7.1% (P = 0.004). Multivariate analysis showed that the most important prognostic factors for survival were serum alpha-fetoprotein (AFP) and Child–Pugh score and tumor size, while HIV status had no significant effect on prognosis statistically. CD4 levels below 200 may increase the risk of opportunistic infection after surgery, but after anti-infection and systematic supportive therapy, it has no effect on survival. HIV+ patients should have the same treatment opportunities as HIV− patients. If the patient's immune status permits, we suggest that early TACE treatment should be administered to BCLC-B HCC patients, regardless of HIV infection. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This retrospective study was conducted to examine the development and current status of pediatric liver transplantation (LT) in western China. Clinical, demographic, morbidity, and mortality data were collected to analyze. It included 260 consecutive pediatric LTs performed at three centers in western China between January 2000 and May 2019. Kaplan‐Meier graft survival rates at 1, 3, 5, and 10 years were 82.1%, 77.2%, 76.6%, and 76.6%, respectively; corresponding patient survival rates were 84.7%, 80.7%, 80.0%, and 80.0%, respectively. More patients underwent living donor liver transplantation (LDLT; n = 188 (73.4%)) than deceased‐donor liver transplantation (DDLT; n = 68 (26.6%)). Survival was better after LDLT (91.5%, 86.6%, and 80.6% at 1, 3, and 5 years, respectively) than after DDLT (80.9%, 72.4%, and 63.9%, respectively; P <.05). Biliary atresia was the leading LT indication (n = 141 (55.1%)), followed by metabolic disease (n = 36 (14.1%)), which was associated with the best recipient survival (88.5% at 5 years). The transplant era and graft‐to‐recipient body weight ratio (GRWR) also significantly predicted overall survival. Survival rates at 5 years were worst in 2000‐2005 (54.5%) and best for GRWRs of 0.8%‐4% (80.4%). The development of pediatric LT in western China began slowly, but the quantity and quality of pediatric LT has progressed in recent years. To reveal genetic factors or pathways involved in the pod degreening, we performed transcriptome and metabolome analyses using a yellow pod cultivar of the common bean "golden hook" ecotype and its green pod mutants yielded via gamma radiation. Transcriptional profiling showed that expression levels of red chlorophyll catabolite reductase (RCCR , Phvul.008G280300) involved in chlorophyll degradation was strongly enhanced at an early stage (2 cm long) in wild type but not in green pod mutants. The expression levels of genes involved in cellulose synthesis was inhibited by the pod degreening. Metabolomic profiling showed that the content of most flavonoid, flavones, and isoflavonoid was decreased during pod development, but the content of afzelechin, taxifolin, dihydrokaempferol, and cyanidin 3- O -rutinoside was remarkably increased in both wild type and green pod mutant. This study revealed that the pod degreening of the golden hook resulting from chlorophyll degradation could trigger changes in cellulose and flavonoids biosynthesis pathway, offering this cultivar a special color appearance and good flavor. Background: Whether hepatic resection (HR) combined with radiofrequency ablation (RFA) or HR alone is the treatment of choice for early or moderately advanced multifocal hepatocellular carcinomas (HCCs) is a matter of debate. This study compared the short- and long-term outcomes of patients with multifocal tumors meeting the University of California San Francisco (UCSF) criteria after HR plus intraoperative RFA or HR alone. Methods: A total of 261 consecutive patients with multifocal HCCs meeting the UCSF criteria from January 2010 to January 2018, who underwent combined treatment (n = 51) or HR (n = 210), were included. Propensity score matching was performed to adjust for baseline differences. Overall survival (OS) and recurrence-free survival (RFS) were calculated, and subgroup analysis, along with univariate and multivariate analyses, were performed. Results: The 1-, 3-, and 5-year OS rates after combined treatment or HR alone were 86.3%, 66.6%, and 34.2%, and 92.8%, 67.1%, and 37%, respectively (p = 0.423); combined treatment provided similar RFS rates as HR at 1, 3, and 5 years (78.4%, 35.8% and 20.9% vs. 82.6%, 50.4% and 24.5%, respectively; p = 0.076). The propensity matching model showed similar results. Subgroup analysis showed that HR was associated with better RFS than HR plus RFA for patients with two tumors or major tumors ≤ 3 cm. Multivariate analysis revealed that portal hypertension and three tumors are independent risk factors. Conclusions: For multifocal HCC patients meeting the UCSF criteria, combined treatment may offer similar OS and RFS as HR; however, HR may be more suitable than combined treatment for patients with two tumors or major tumors ≤ 3 cm. Single-crystalline GePb alloys have been successfully achieved by implanting Pb into Ge, followed by rapid thermal annealing under N2 atmosphere. The high crystallinity and the thickness of around 20 nm of the GePb alloys was determined by high-resolution x-ray diffraction and high-resolution transmission electron microscopy. The root-mean-square value of the as-implanted GePb sample is evaluated to be 1.25 nm in the 5 × 5 um scan area, which indicates a rather smooth surface. After being annealed at 400 °C, the result of a selected area electron diffraction pattern suggested that a single-crystalline alloy film was formed for the first time. The Pb composition of this sample is approximately 0.23% according to the x-ray photoelectron spectroscopy results. This value corresponds with the measurement result of the secondary ion mass spectroscopy. In addition, mobility enhancement in GePb/Ge samples has been identified by temperature-dependent Hall measurement, which indicates GePb alloys have great potential to be a promising high-mobility channel material for future monolithic optoelectronics integration application. The relationship between age and the prognosis of patients with hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) has been widely investigated. However, few studies have focused on the influence of patient age on the prognosis of HCC with microvascular invasion (MVI). Patients with histologically confirmed HCC with MVI who underwent hepatectomy between 2008 and 2016 were retrospectively enrolled in this study and allocated to younger (young group) and older age groups (old group) according to age< or ≥60 years. A propensity score matching analysis was performed, and prognostic factors evaluated by Kaplan–Meier curves and Cox proportional hazards regression. Intraoperative and postoperative characteristics were compared between the two groups. A total of 374 patients were enrolled in this study. There were 84 patients in each group after a 1 : 1 propensity score matching analysis. The rates of both disease-free survival (DFS) and overall survival (OS) differed significantly between the age groups. By univariate and multivariate analyses, age < 60 years was significantly associated with DFS (hazard ratio, 1.590; 95% CI, 1.135–2.228) and OS (hazard ratio, 1.837; 95% CI, 1.259–2.680). There were no significant differences in intraoperative or postoperative characteristics between the two age groups. In patients with histologically confirmed HCC with MVI, the prognosis is poorer for those aged younger than 60 years than for those aged 60 years or older.
