Mg-based alloys are regarded as highly promising materials for hydrogen storage. Despite significant improvements of the properties for Mg-based alloys, challenges such as slow hydrogen absorption/desorption kinetics and high thermodynamic stability continue to limit their practical application. In this study, to assess hydrogen storage alloys with enhanced properties, incorporating both internal microstructure modulation through the preparation of amorphous/nanocrystalline structures and surface property enhancement with the addition of Cu and carbon nanotubes (CNTs), the kinetic properties of activation and hydrogenation, thermodynamic properties, and dehydrogenation kinetics are tested. The results reveal a complementary interaction between the added Cu and CNTs, contributing to the superior hydrogen storage performance observed in sample 7A-2Cu-1CNTs with an amorphous/nanocrystalline structure compared to the other experimental samples. Additionally, the samples are fully activated after the initial hydrogen absorption and desorption cycle, demonstrating outstanding hydrogenation kinetics under both high and low temperature experimental conditions. Particularly noteworthy is that the hydrogen absorption exceeds 1.8 wt.% within one hour at 333 K. Furthermore, the activation energy for dehydrogenation is decreased to 64.71 kJ·mol−1. Background: The alveolar epithelial type II cell (AT2) and its senescence play a pivotal role in alveolar damage and pulmonary fibrosis. Cell circadian rhythm is strongly associated with cell senescence. Differentiated embryonic chondrocyte expressed gene 1 (DEC1) is a very important circadian clock gene. However, the role of DEC1 in AT2 senescence and pulmonary fibrosis was still unclear. Results: In this study, a circadian disruption model of light intervention was used. It was found that circadian disruption exacerbated pulmonary fibrosis in mice. To understand the underlying mechanism, DEC1 levels were investigated. Results showed that DEC1 levels increased in lung tissues of IPF patients and in bleomycin-induced mouse fibrotic lungs. In vitro study revealed that bleomycin and TGF-β1 increased the expressions of DEC1, collagen-I, and fibronectin in AT2 cells. Inhibition of DEC1 mitigated bleomycin-induced fibrotic changes in vitro and in vivo. After that, cell senescence was observed in bleomycin-treated AT2 cells and mouse models, but these were prevented by DEC1 inhibition. At last, p21 was confirmed having circadian rhythm followed DEC1 in normal conditions. But bleomycin disrupted the circadian rhythm and increased DEC1 which promoted p21 expression, increased p21 mediated AT2 senescence and pulmonary fibrosis. Curcumae Rhizoma, a traditional Chinese medicine with a wide range of pharmacological activities, is obtained from the dried rhizomes of Curcuma phaeocaulis VaL., Curcuma kwangsiensis S. G. Lee et C. F. Liang, and Curcuma wenyujin Y. H. Chen et C. Ling. Sesquiterpenoids and curcuminoids are found to be the main constituents of Curcumae Rhizoma. Sesquiterpenoids are composed of three isoprene units and are susceptible to complex transformations, such as cyclization, rearrangement, and oxidation. They are the most structurally diverse class of plant-based natural products with a wide range of biological activities and are widely found in nature. In recent years, scholars have conducted abundant studies on the structures and pharmacological properties of components of Curcumae Rhizoma. This article elucidates the chemical structures, medicinal properties, and biological properties of the sesquiterpenoids (a total of 274 compounds) isolated from Curcumae Rhizoma. We summarized extraction and isolation methods for sesquiterpenoids, established a chemical component library of sesquiterpenoids in Curcumae Rhizoma, and analyzed structural variances among sesquiterpenoids sourced from Curcumae Rhizoma of diverse botanical origins. Furthermore, our investigation reveals a diverse array of sesquiterpenoid types, encompassing guaiane-type, germacrane-type, eudesmane-type, elemane-type, cadinane-type, carane-type, bisabolane-type, humulane-type, and other types, emphasizing the relationship between structural diversity and activity. Ergothioneine (EGT) is a rare thiohistidine derivative with exceptional antioxidant properties. The blood level of EGT is considered highly reliable predictors for cardiovascular diseases and mortality, yet animals lack the ability to synthesize this compound. Free plasmids have been previously used to overexpress genes involved in the EGT biosynthetic pathway of Mycolicibacterium neoaurum. Here, we tentatively introduced a putative transporter gene mfsT1 into high‐copy plasmids and sharply increased the ratio of extracellular EGT concentration from 18.7% to 44.9%. Subsequently, an additional copy of egtABCDE, hisG, and mfsT1 was inserted into the genome with a site‐specific genomic integration tool of M. neoaurum, leading a 2.7 times increase in EGT production. Co‐enhancing the S‐adenosyl‐L‐methionine regeneration pathway, or alternatively, the integration of three copies of egtABCDE, hisG and mfsT1 into the genome further increased the total EGT yield by 16.1% (64.6 mg/L) and 21.7% (67.7 mg/L), respectively. After 168‐h cultivation, the highest titer reached 85.9 mg/L in the latter strain with three inserted copies. Intrauterine growth restriction (IUGR) pigs are characterized by long-term growth failure, metabolic disorders, and intestinal microbiota imbalance. The characteristics of the negative effects of IUGR at different growth stages of pigs are still unclear. Therefore, this study explored through multi-omics analyses whether the IUGR damages the intestinal barrier function and alters the colonization and metabolic profiles of the colonic microbiota in growing-finishing pigs. Seventy-two piglets (36 IUGR and 36 NBW) were allocated for this trial to analyze physiological and plasma biochemical parameters, as well as oxidative damage and inflammatory response in the colon. Moreover, the colonic microbiota communities and metabolome were examined using 16s rRNA sequencing and metabolomics technologies to reveal the intestinal characteristics of IUGR pigs at different growth stages (25, 50, and 100 kg). IUGR altered the concentrations of plasma glucose, total protein, triglycerides, and cholesterol. Colonic tight junction proteins were markedly inhibited by IUGR. IUGR decreased plasma T-AOC, SOD, and GSH levels and colonic SOD-1, SOD-2, and GPX-4 expressions by restraining the Nrf2/Keap1 signaling pathway. Moreover, IUGR increased colonic IL-1β and TNF-α levels while reducing IL-10, possibly through activating the TLR4-NF-κB/ERK pathway. Notably, IUGR pigs had lower colonic Streptococcus abundance and Firmicutes-to-Bacteroidetes ratio at the 25 kg BW stage while having higher Firmicutes abundance at the 100 kg BW stage; moreover, IUGR pigs had lower SCFA concentrations. Metabolomics analysis showed that IUGR increased colonic lipids and lipid-like molecules, organic acids and derivatives, and organoheterocyclic compounds concentrations and enriched three differential metabolic pathways, including linoleic acid, sphingolipid, and purine metabolisms throughout the trial. Collectively, IUGR altered the nutrient metabolism, redox status, and colonic microbiota community and metabolite profiles of pigs and continued to disrupt colonic barrier function by reducing antioxidant capacity via the Nrf2/Keap1 pathway and activating inflammation via the TLR4-NF-κB/ERK pathway during the growing-finishing stage. Background: Pulsed field ablation (PFA) has emerged as a novel non‐thermal modality with highly myocardium‐specific. However, the PFA catheter based on contact force (CF)‐sensing has not been reported. The study aimed to evaluate the efficacy and safety of a novel CF‐sensing PFA catheter. Methods: First, different CF (5, 15, 25, and 35 g) of the novel PFA catheter were evaluated on lesion dimensions during ablation on right and left ventricle in two pigs. Next, this catheter was further evaluated on four typical sites of superior vena cava (SVC), cavotricuspid isthmus (CTI), right superior pulmonary vein (RSPV), and right inferior pulmonary vein (RIPV) for atrial ablation in another six pigs. Electrical isolation was evaluated immediately after ablation and 30‐day survival. Chronic lesions were assessed via histopathology after euthanasia. Acute and chronic safety outcomes were observed peri‐ and post‐procedurally. Results: In ventricular ablation, increased CF from 5 to 15 g produced significantly greater lesion depth but nonsignificant increases from 15 to 35 g. In atrial ablation, the novel CF‐sensing PFA deliveries produced an acute attenuation of local electrograms and formation of a continuous line of block in all 6 pigs. The ablation line remained sustained blockage at the 30‐day survival period. The CF of SVC, CTI, RSPV, and RIPV was 9.4 ± 1.5, 14.5 ± 3.2, 17.2 ± 2.6, and 13.4 ± 2.8 g, respectively. Moreover, no evidence of damage to esophagus or phrenic nerve was observed. This study evaluated the effects of maternal selenium-enriched yeast (SeY) supplementation during late gestation and lactation on sow performance, transfer of selenium (Se) and redox status, and gut microbiota community, as well as on the gut health of offspring. Seventy pregnant sows on day 85 of gestation were randomly allocated to the following two treatments: (1) sows who were fed a basal diet (basal diet contained 0.3 mg/kg Se as Na2SeO3, n = 35); (2) and sows who were fed a SeY-supplemented diet (basal diet with 0.2 mg/kg Se as SeY, n = 35). The offspring piglets were only cross-fostered within the group on day 3 of lactation (L3) according to the pig farm epidemic prevention policy. The plasma, milk, and feces samples from 10 sows, as well as plasma and intestinal samples per treatment, were collected on L1 and L21, respectively. Our results showed that maternal SeY supplementation increased the first week average weight and ADG of piglets (p < 0.05). Compared with the CON group, the SeY supplementation increased the Se content in the plasma and milk of sows and the plasma of piglets on L1 and L21 (p < 0.05). In addition, in sows, the levels of fat in the milk on L21, the level of IgA, T-AOC, and GSH-Px in the plasma on L21, and the level of T-AOC and GSH-Px in the colostrum were increased, while the MDA content was decreased in the plasma on L1 and in the colostrum and milk on L14 (p < 0.05). In the piglet plasma, the levels of IgA on L1 and L21, GSH-Px on L1, and GSH on L21 were increased, while the MDA content was decreased on L1 (p < 0.05). Maternal SeY supplementation up-regulated the small intestinal protein abundances of MUC1, E-cadherin, ZO-1, occludin, and claudin and activated the Nrf2/Keap1 signaling pathway in weaned offspring piglets. The 16S rRNA sequencing results showed that fecal microbiota had distinct separations during lactation, and the relative abundances of unclassified_f_Lachnospiraceae, Prevotaceae_UCG-001, and Lachnospiraceae_NK4A136_group were increased on L1. Collectively, the current findings suggest that maternal SeY supplementation during late gestation and lactation could improve the piglet's growth performance, Se status, antioxidant capacity and immunoglobulins transfer at the first week of lactation, as well as alter the fecal microbiota composition by increasing antioxidative-related and SCFA-producing microbiota in sows. This study evaluated the effects of betaine supplementation in sows and/or their offspring's diets on the redox status, immune and inflammatory levels, colonic barrier function, and colonic microbial community of offspring piglets. Thirty-six Bama mini-sows on day 3 of gestation and their weaned offspring piglets (28 d of age) were randomly allocated to the following treatments: (1) sows and their weaned offspring fed the basal diet (control group, Con group); (2) sows fed the basal diet with 3.50 kg/t betaine, and their weaned offspring fed the basal diet (sows betaine group, SB group); (3) sows fed the basal diet with 3.50 kg/t betaine, and their weaned offspring fed the basal diet with 2.50 kg/t betaine (sow-offspring betaine group, S-OB group). Six offspring piglets from each group were selected to collect plasma and colon samples on d 30, 60, and 90 after weaning. Compared with the Con group, the plasma levels of IgA, IgM, GSH-Px, and SOD during d 30–90 after weaning, IFN-α, T-AOC, and GSH on d 30 and 60 after weaning were increased, while MDA during d 30–90 after weaning was decreased in the SB and S-OB groups (p < 0.05). In addition, the plasma levels of IFN-γ on d 60 and T-AOC on d 30 after weaning were higher in the S-OB group than those in the Con group (p < 0.05). In the colon, betaine supplementation increased plasma T-AOC, GSH, and SOD levels while decreasing MDA concentration (p < 0.05). Betaine supplementation improved the colonic protein abundances of ZO-1, occludin, and claudin in offspring and activated the Nrf2/Keap1 signaling pathway while inhibiting the TLR4-NF-κB/MAPK signaling pathway on d 90 after weaning. The 16S rRNA sequencing results showed that betaine supplementation altered colonic microbiota composition by increasing the relative abundances of Verrucomicrobia and Actinobacteria in the SB group while decreasing proinflammatory-associated microbiota abundances (Tenericutes, Prevotella, and Parabacteroides) (p < 0.05). Collectively, these findings suggest that dietary betaine supplementation in sows and/or their offspring could improve offspring piglets' redox status and immune and anti-inflammatory levels and enhance the colonic barrier function by activating Nrf2/Keap1 and inhibiting TLR4-NF-κB/MAPK signaling pathways. Parabadiella is considered the earliest trilobite representative in South China and was originally recovered from the mid-upper part of the Guojiaba Formation, in Liangshan section. Previous studies suggested that the earliest brachiopod co-occurred with the oldest trilobite, and the Parabadiella–Eoobolus association from the Xihaoping Member (Cambrian Series 2, Stage 3), in southern Shaanxi was considered the first trilobite–brachiopod assemblage zone in South China. Therein, brachiopods occur together with trilobites recovered in Well JS103 seemingly extending the First Appearance Datum deeply in the lower Cambrian at the central Yangtze Platform. Well JS103 is a shale gas exploration well that targets the lower Cambrian Jiulaodong Formation in southern Sichuan Basin. The uppermost fossiliferous layers are siliciclastic rocks nearly 10 metres thick. Here, two distinct trilobite zones are found, including the lower Parabadiella Zone and the upper Wutingaspis–Eoredlichia Zone. Additionally, the lowermost part of the Guojiaba Formation is poorly fossiliferous, and ranges from 200 to 250 metres in thickness. Thus, the discovery of the brachiopod–trilobite assemblage provides new insights into the biostratigraphy in Sichuan and is of great potentials for biostratigraphic correlation of the siliciclastic rocks in the western margin of the Yangtze Platform. The evolutionary history of herbaceous species in the Northern Hemisphere remains poorly understood. The genus Cerastium is one of the most species-rich herbaceous genera in the Alsineae (Caryophyllaceae), and is mainly distributed in the Northern Hemisphere. Thus, it provides an ideal opportunity to explore the biogeographical history of herbs in the Northern Hemisphere. Here, we present a comprehensive phylogenetic tree for Cerastium with 75 species based on one nuclear and five plastid DNA markers. We then use an integrated phylogenetic, molecular dating, biogeographical, and diversification rate method to examine the spatiotemporal evolution of Cerastium. Cerastium is strongly supported as monophyletic and contains three major clades (Orthodon, Strephodon, and C. fragillimum). Cerastium originated from Europe in the middle Miocene (c. 13.45 million years ago), and subsequently colonized the New World, Africa, Asia, and Australasia through multiple intercontinental dispersal events. The dispersal of Cerastium from Europe (to both the East and West) and subsequent diversifications contributed to the formation of its contemporary Holarctic distribution pattern. The genus experienced rapid lineage accumulation during the late Miocene, possibly coinciding with a global decrease in temperature. These findings highlight the importance of the Northern Hemisphere in herbaceous species diversification in the late Miocene and Pliocene, and will deepen our understanding of the evolution of herbaceous plants. Lacustrine shale has garnered significant attention due to its significant resource potential. The Jurassic shale in the Sichuan Basin is an important target for lacustrine shale exploration in China. However, previous studies have predominantly focused on the Da'anzhai member of the Ziliujing Formation, and little attention has been paid to the shale of other strata. This paper aims to address this gap by investigating the Jurassic Dongyuemiao member in the Sichuan Basin. The study systematically characterizes the geological properties of the Dongyuemiao shale system, reconstructs the paleosedimentary environment, identifies the key factors influencing organic matter (OM) enrichment and physical properties, and assesses its resource potential through comparative analysis. Our results show that the Dongyuemiao shale was deposited in an oxic and semi-humid sedimentary environment characterized by intense weathering conditions. The enrichment of OM in the shale is primarily controlled by redox conditions and salinity, with redox conditions playing the most crucial role in OM accumulation. In terms of pore system characterization, clay mineral-associated pores dominate the pore types in the Dongyuemiao shale, while two types of organic matter-associated pores are also widely observed. The development of framework grain-associated pores is limited and only present in certain siliceous and carbonate minerals. The shales of the Dongyuemiao member and the Da'anzhai member exhibit slight differences in TOC content. However, the kerogen in the Dongyuemiao member displays higher hydrocarbon generation potential, and the Dongyuemiao shale exhibits more favorable pore structure parameters. Overall, the Dongyuemiao shale does not exhibit any significant disadvantages compared to the Da'anzhai shale. Therefore, it deserves greater attention in future exploration endeavors. The engineered probiotic Escherichia coli Nissle 1917 (EcN) is expected to be employed in the diagnosis and treatment of various diseases. However, the introduced plasmids typically require antibiotics to maintain genetic stability, and the cryptic plasmids in EcN are usually eliminated to avoid plasmid incompatibility which may change the inherent probiotic characteristics. Here, we provided a simple design to minimize the genetic change of probiotics by eliminating native plasmids and reintroducing the recombinants carrying functional genes. Specific insertion sites in the vectors showed significant differences in the expression of fluorescence proteins. Selected integration sites were applied in the de novo synthesis of salicylic acid, leading to a titer of 142.0 ± 6.0 mg/L in a shake flask with good production stability. Additionally, the design successfully realized the biosynthesis of ergothioneine (45 mg/L) by one-step construction. This work expands the application scope of native cryptic plasmids to the easy construction of functional pathways. Objective: To determine the efficacy of cataract surgeries in blindness prevention programs in Chongqing. Methods: During February–December 2019, we prospectively enrolled 487 patients (592 eyes) undergoing cataract surgery during blindness prevention programs in 6 Chongqing district/county hospitals (experimental group) and 481 patients (609 eyes) undergoing cataract surgery in the First Affiliated Hospital of Chongqing Medical University (controls). Uncorrected visual acuity (UCVA), refractive status, best corrected visual acuity (BCVA), slit lamp examination, and visual function/quality of life (VF-QOL) questionnaire scores were evaluated preoperatively, and at 1 and 6 months postoperatively. Results: In the experimental group, UCVA, BCVA, and VF-QOL scores at 1 and 6 months were better than the preoperative values (P < 0.05), but lower than the control-group values (P < 0.05). Rates of good UCVA and BCVA outcomes (≤ 0.5 logMAR) in the experimental group were 76.2% and 87.6%, respectively, at 1 month and 68.9% and 83.1%, respectively, at 6 months. Most eyes in the experimental (82.1%) and control (89.5%) groups had refractive errors within ± 1 D at 1 month. At 6 months, posterior capsule opacification (PCO) was more common in the experimental group (20.9% vs. 15.0%, P < 0.05). At 6 months, the main causes of visual impairment (UCVA > 0.5 logMAR) in the experimental group were uncorrected refractive errors (33.0%), PCO (29.5%), and fundus diseases (33.9%). Conclusion: Cataract surgeries in blindness prevention programs in Chongqing significantly improved visual acuity, VF, and QOL, but underperformed compared to surgeries in the tertiary teaching hospital. Background: Harnessing engineered Mycolicibacteria to convert cheap phytosterols into valuable steroid synthons is a basic way in the industry for the production of steroid hormones. Thus, C-19 and C-22 steroids are the two main types of commercial synthons and the products of C17 side chain degradation of phytosterols. During the conversion process of sterols, C-19 and C-22 steroids are often produced together, although one may be the main product and the other a minor byproduct. This is a major drawback of the engineered Mycolicibacteria for industrial application, which could be attributed to the co-existence of androstene-4-ene-3,17-dione (AD) and 22-hydroxy-23,24-bisnorchol-4-ene-3-one (HBC) sub-pathways in the degradation of the sterol C17 side chain. Since the key mechanism underlying the HBC sub-pathway has not yet been clarified, the above shortcoming has not been resolved so far. Results: The key gene involved in the putative HBC sub-pathway was excavated from the genome of M. neoaurum by comparative genomic analysis. Interestingly, an aldolase- encoding gene, atf1, was identified to be responsible for the first reaction of the HBC sub-pathway, and it exists as a conserved operon along with a DUF35-type gene chsH4, a reductase gene chsE6, and a transcriptional regulation gene kstR3 in the genome. Subsequently, atf1 and chsH4 were identified as the key genes involved in the HBC sub-pathway. Therefore, an updated strategy was proposed to develop engineered C-19 or C-22 steroid-producing strains by simultaneously modifying the AD and HBC sub-pathways. Taking the development of 4-HBC and 9-OHAD-producing strains as examples, the improved 4-HBC-producing strain achieved a 20.7 g/L production titer with a 92.5% molar yield and a 56.4% reduction in byproducts, and the improved 9-OHAD producing strain achieved a 19.87 g/L production titer with a 94.6% molar yield and a 43.7% reduction in byproduct production. Conclusions: The excellent performances of these strains demonstrated that the primary operon involved in the HBC sub-pathway improves the industrial strains in the conversion of phytosterols to steroid synthons. Multipartite quantum resources, such as entanglement and coherence, have long been a question of great interest in quantum information science. In this literature, we introduce the concept of multipartite strongly symmetric states that their representation tensors are strongly symmetric tensor. The dimension of strongly symmetric subspace is discussed, and show that is less than the dimension of symmetric subspace. We present some upper bound for the geometric measure of entanglement of strongly symmetric states, which are tighter than the bounds in N-qubit system. On the other hand, we consider the classicality of spin states in strongly symmetric situation, which is equivalent to the positive semidefiniteness of strongly symmetric representation tensor. Some sufficient conditions for classicality (separability) in strongly symmetric case are proposed, and these methods have a larger detection range than the smallest eigenvalue method. Background: The conversion of phytosterols to steroid synthons by engineered Mycolicibacteria comprises one of the core steps in the commercial production of steroid hormones. This is a complex oxidative catabolic process, and taking the production of androstenones as example, it requires about 10 equivalent flavin adenine dinucleotide (FAD). As the high demand for FAD, the insufficient supply of FAD may be a common issue limiting the conversion process. Results: We substantiated, using the production of 9α-hydroxy-4-androstene-3,17-dione (9-OHAD) as a model, that increasing intracellular FAD supply could effectively increase the conversion of phytosterols into 9-OHAD. Overexpressing ribB and ribC, two key genes involving in FAD synthesis, could significantly enhance the amount of intracellular FAD by 167.4% and the production of 9-OHAD by 25.6%. Subsequently, styrene monooxygenase NfStyA2B from Nocardia farcinica was employed to promote the cyclic regeneration of FAD by coupling the oxidation of nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NADH) to NAD+, and the production of 9-OHAD was further enhanced by 9.4%. However, the viable cell numbers decreased by 20.1%, which was attributed to sharply increased levels of H2O2 because of the regeneration of FAD from FADH2. Thus, we tried to resolve the conflict between FAD regeneration and cell growth by the overexpression of catalase and promotor replacement. Finally, a robust strain NF-P2 was obtained, which could produce 9.02 g/L 9-OHAD after adding 15 g/L phytosterols with productivity of 0.075 g/(L h), which was 66.7% higher than that produced by the original strain. Conclusions: This study highlighted that the cofactor engineering, including the supply and recycling of FAD and NAD+ in Mycolicibacterium, should be adopted as a parallel strategy with pathway engineering to improve the productivity of the industrial strains in the conversion of phytosterols into steroid synthons. China's helium resource is highly dependent on overseas imports. Organic-rich and U/Th-rich shale reservoirs generally contain helium, and although the helium content is low, the total reserve is large. Therefore, the effective development and utilisation of shale-type helium resources is a realistic way to improve the security of helium resources in China. In this study, the generation mechanism, helium source and content, migration modes and pathways, controlling factors of enrichment, distribution pattern, and resource potential of the helium were analysed, using the Wufeng-Longmaxi shale in the Sichuan Basin and its periphery. Furthermore, countermeasures were proposed for shale-type helium exploration and development. The results show that the Wufeng-Longmaxi shale has a high content of U and Th and a good ability to generate helium. The helium is generated by a typical crustal source of helium and is characterised by self-generation, self-storage, and wide distribution. The helium resource potential is a product of its content and the resources of the associated natural gas. The continuous supply of helium and effective preservation are the main geological factors that control the enrichment of shale-type helium. The preliminary evaluation results show that the reserves of helium in proven shale gas reserves are 10.8×108 m3 in the Sichuan Basin and its periphery, where the extra-large helium fields are likely to be discovered. Additionally, 0.0912×108 m3 of helium was produced, along with the annual production of shale gas. To avoid the waste of helium and to improve the self-supply ability, it is suggested that research on the resource potential, enrichment mechanism, and distribution pattern of shale-type helium should be carried out as soon as possible, and helium extraction techniques for helium-bearing natural gas should be studied. Aberrant expression of the phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase (PI3K) signalling pathway is often associated with tumourigenesis, progression and poor prognosis. Hence, PI3K inhibitors have attracted significant interest for the treatment of cancer. In this study, a series of new 6-(imidazo[1,2-a]pyridin-6-yl)quinazoline derivatives were designed, synthesized and characterized by 1H NMR, 13C NMR and HRMS spectra analyses. In the in vitro anticancer assay, most of the synthetic compounds showed submicromolar inhibitory activity against various tumour cell lines, among which 13k is the most potent compound with IC50 values ranging from 0.09 μΜ to 0.43 μΜ against all the tested cell lines. Moreover, 13k induced cell cycle arrest at G2/M phase and cell apoptosis of HCC827 cells by inhibition of PI3Kα with an IC50 value of 1.94 nM. To explore the sesquiterpenoids in Curcuma longa L. and their activity related to anti-atherosclerosis. The chemical compounds of the rhizomes of C. longa were separated and purified by multiple chromatography techniques. Their structures were established by a variety of spectroscopic experiments. The absolute configurations were determined by comparing experimental and calculated NMR chemical shifts and electronic circular dichroism (ECD) spectra. Their anti-inflammatory effects and inhibitory activity against macrophage-derived foam cell formation were evaluated by lipopolysaccharide (LPS) and oxidized low-density lipoprotein (ox-LDL)-injured RAW264.7 macrophages, respectively. This study resulted in the isolation of 10 bisabolane-type sesquiterpenoids (1–10) from C. longa, including two pairs of new epimers (curbisabolanones A–D, 1–4). Compound 4 significantly inhibited LPS-induced nitric oxide (NO), interleukin-1β (IL-1β), interleukin-6 (IL-6), tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α), and prostaglandin E2 (PGE2) production in RAW264.7 cells. Furthermore, compound 4 showed inhibitory activity against macrophage-derived foam cell formation, which was represented by markedly reducing ox-LDL-induced intracellular lipid accumulation as well as total cholesterol (TC), free cholesterol (FC), and cholesterol ester (CE) contents in RAW264.7 cells. These findings suggest that bisabolane-type sesquiterpenoids, one of the main types of components in C. longa, have the potential to alleviate the atherosclerosis process by preventing inflammation and inhibiting macrophage foaming. Applying the recycled power battery to automatic guided vehicles can greatly reduce system cost and prolong the life cycle of the battery. However, the consistency of recycled power batteries is poor, and the imbalance of battery voltage will occur during the charging or discharging process. Therefore, a double-switch single-transformer integrated equalizer is proposed to balance automatic guided vehicles in both charging and discharging operations. The equalizer's multiwinding transformer shares the dc–dc converter's inductor, and the secondary side generates current by utilizing the current ripple on the primary windings. The battery string is balanced by the multiwinding transformer, without extra switches, when the circuit works in charging and discharging mode. A prototype for four battery cells is built to verify the proposed equalizer and its dynamic balance conditions, and a comparison with existing equalizers is presented. The results show that the system in both modes can realize the automatic balance without affecting the function of the dc–dc converter. Introduction: Systemically, changes in serum platelet to lymphocyte ratio (PLR), platelet count to mean platelet volume ratio (PVR), neutrophil to lymphocyte ratio (NLR) and monocyte to lymphocyte (MLR) represent primary responses to early inflammation and infection. This study aimed to determine whether PLR, PVR, NLR, and MLR can be useful in diagnosing periprosthetic joint infection (PJI) in total hip arthroplasty (THA) patients. Methods: A total of 464 patients that underwent revision THA with calculable PLR, PVR, NLR, and MLR in 2 groups was evaluated: 1) 191 patients with a pre-operative diagnosis of PJI, and 2) 273 matched patients treated for revision THA for aseptic complications. Results: The sensitivity and specificity of PLR combined with erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR), C-reactive protein (CRP), synovial white blood cell count (WBC) and synovial polymorphonuclear leukocytes (PMN) (97.9%; 98.5%) is significantly higher than only ESR combined with CRP, synovial WBC and synovial PMN (94.2%; 94.5%; p < 0.01). The sensitivity and specificity of PVR combined with ESR, CRP and synovial WBC, and synovial PMN (98.4%; 98.2%) is higher than only ESR combined with CRP, synovial WBC and synovial PMN (94.2%; 94.5%; p < 0.01). Conclusion: The study results demonstrate that both PLR and PVR calculated from complete blood counts when combined with serum and synovial fluid markers have increased diagnostic sensitivity and specificity in diagnosing periprosthetic joint infection in THA patients. Background: Fine particulate matter (PM2.5) is associated with increased incidence and severity of asthma. PM2.5 exposure disrupts airway epithelial cells, which elicits and sustains PM2.5-induced airway inflammation and remodeling. However, the mechanisms underlying development and exacerbation of PM2.5-induced asthma were still poorly understood. The aryl hydrocarbon receptor nuclear translocator-like protein 1 (BMAL1) is a major circadian clock transcriptional activator that is also extensively expressed in peripheral tissues and plays a crucial role in organ and tissue metabolism. Results: In this study, we found PM2.5 aggravated airway remodeling in mouse chronic asthma, and exacerbated asthma manifestation in mouse acute asthma. Next, low BMAL1 expression was found to be crucial for airway remodeling in PM2.5-challenged asthmatic mice. Subsequently, we confirmed that BMAL1 could bind and promote ubiquitination of p53, which can regulate p53 degradation and block its increase under normal conditions. However, PM2.5-induced BMAL1 inhibition resulted in up-regulation of p53 protein in bronchial epithelial cells, then increased-p53 promoted autophagy. Autophagy in bronchial epithelial cells mediated collagen-I synthesis as well as airway remodeling in asthma. Conclusions: Taken together, our results suggest that BMAL1/p53-mediated bronchial epithelial cell autophagy contributes to PM2.5-aggravated asthma. Four novel indane derivatives, anisotindans A–D (1–4), were isolated from the roots of Anisodus tanguticus. Their structures were established using comprehensive spectroscopic analyses, and their absolute configurations were determined by electronic circular dichroism (ECD) calculations and single-crystal X-ray diffraction analyses. Anisotindans C and D (3 and 4) are two unusual indenofuran analogs. ABTS•+ and DPPH•+ assays of radical scavenging activity reveal that all compounds (1–4) are active. The hard rock stratum will seriously affect the efficiency of deep-sea drilling and greatly increase the cost of drilling operations due to its complexity. In ocean drilling operations, the design of the bit is critical. Therefore, the core bit should be able to drill in a variety of formations, especially in hard rock stratum, with the function of reducing the need to change the bit due to formation changes and improving the drilling efficiency. In this paper, three different core bits were designed according to the hard rock stratum of the seabed: the roller bit, diamond bit and bionic bit. According to the test results, it was observed that: (1) It is fully proven that the roller core bit has the characteristics of stable drilling in hard strata, small torque and high drilling efficiency. The same method can realize the core in shallow soft strata through the setting of drilling parameters. (2) For the diamond bit, the field test data show that the new formula diamond bit has a good adaptability to the changing hard rock strata in this area, with an average rate of penetration (ROP) of 4.4 m/h and a bit life of 137.75 m. (3) For the bionic bit, field experiment data showed that drilling in the formation lithology was gray green tuff, which had a core recovery up to 100%. The average ROP was 1.35 m/h, and the highest ROP was 1.88 m/h. (1) Background: The florets of Carthamus tinctorius L. are traditionally used as a blood-activating drug and can be used for the treatment of atherosclerosis, but no compounds with anti-atherosclerotic activity have been reported. (2) Methods: This study investigated the chemical compounds from the florets of C. tinctorius. Comprehensive spectroscopic techniques revealed their structures, and ECD calculations established their absolute configurations. Nile Red staining, Oil Red O staining, and cholesterol assessment were performed on these compounds and their aglycones for the inhibitory activity against the formation of foam cells induced by oxidized low-density lipoprotein (ox-LDL) in RAW264.7 macrophages. In addition, RAW264.7 macrophages were tested for their anti-inflammatory activity by measuring the inhibition of NO production caused by LPS. (3) Results: Five new sesquiterpenoids (1–5) isolated from the florets of C. tinctorius were identified as (–)-(1R,4S,9S,11R)-caryophyll-8(13)-en-14-ol-5-one (1), (+)-(1R,4R,9S,11R)-caryophyll-8(13)-en-14-ol-5-one (2), (–)-(3Z,1R,5S,8S,9S,11R)-5,8-epoxycaryophyll-3-en-14-O-β-D-glucopyranoside (3), (+)-(1S,7R,10S)-guai-4-en-3-one-11-O-β-D-fucopyranoside (4), and (–)-(2R,5R,10R)-vetispir-6-en-8-one-11-O-β-D-fucopyranoside (5). All compounds except for compound 3 reduced the lipid content in ox-LDL-treated RAW264.7 cells. Compounds 3 and 4 and their aglycones were found to reduce the level of total cholesterol (TC) and free cholesterol (FC) in ox-LDL-treated RAW264.7 cells. However, no compounds showed anti-inflammatory activity. Introduction: Periprosthetic fracture after primary total hip and knee arthroplasty (THA; TKA) can be challenging, requiring open reduction internal fixation (ORIF), revision, or both. The aim of this study was to evaluate the outcomes and risk factors associated with re-revision surgery following failed revision arthroplasty for periprosthetic fracture. Methods: A total of 316 consecutive THA patients and 79 consecutive TKA patients underwent a revision for periprosthetic fracture, of which 68 THA patients (21.5%) and 15 TKA patients (18.9%) underwent re-revision surgery. The most common indication for hip and knee re-revision was periprosthetic joint infection (PJI) in 28 THA patients (46.6%) and 11 TKA patients (47.8%). Results: The complication rates of THA and TKA revision were 24.3% and 25.3% respectively, and 35.0% and 39.1% respectively for re-revision surgery at an average follow-up of 4.5 years. Periprosthetic joint infection was the most common indication for THA and TKA re-revision (46.7%; 47.8%) and third revision surgery (15.0%; 13.0%). Factors significantly contributing to an increased risk of THA and TKA re-revision included revision with plate fixation and revision with combined ORIF. Conclusion: The overall complication rate of THA and TKA re-revision surgery following failed revision surgery for periprosthetic fracture was higher than of revision surgery. The most common indication for re-revision and third revision was periprosthetic joint infection. These findings may assist surgeons in the management and preoperative counseling of patients undergoing THA and TKA revision surgery for a periprosthetic fracture to optimize the outcomes for these patients. Background: Intrauterine growth retardation (IUGR) is associated with severely impaired nutrient metabolism and intestinal development of pigs. Our previous study found that IUGR altered intestinal microbiota and metabolites in the colon. However, the consequences of IUGR on bile acid metabolism in pigs remained unclear. The present study aimed to investigate the bile acid metabolism in the liver and the profile of bile acid derivatives in the colon of growing pigs with IUGR using bile acid targeted metabolomics. Furthermore, we determined correlations between colonic microbiota composition and metabolites of IUGR and normal birth weight (NBW) pigs at different growth stages that were 7, 21, and 28-day-old, and the average body weight (BW) of 25, 50, and 100 kg of the NBW pigs. Results: The results showed that the plasma total bile acid concentration was higher (P < 0.05) at the 25 kg BW stage and tended to increase (P = 0.08) at 28-day-old in IUGR pigs. The hepatic gene expressions related to bile acid synthesis (CYP7A1, CYP27A1, and NTCP) were up-regulated (P < 0.05), and the genes related to glucose and lipid metabolism (ATGL, HSL, and PC) were down-regulated (P < 0.05) at the 25 kg BW stage in IUGR pigs when compared with the NBW group. Targeted metabolomics analysis showed that 29 bile acids and related compounds were detected in the colon of pigs. The colonic concentrations of dehydrolithocholic acid and apocholic acid were increased (P < 0.05), while isodeoxycholic acid and 6,7-diketolithocholic acid were decreased (P < 0.05) in IUGR pigs, when compared with the NBW pigs at the 25 kg BW stage. Moreover, Spearman's correlation analysis revealed that colonic Unclassified_[Mogibacteriaceae], Lachnospira, and Slackia abundances were negatively correlated (P < 0.05) with dehydrolithocholic acid, as well as the Unclassified_Clostridiaceae abundance with 6,7-diketolithocholic acid at the 25 kg BW stage. Conclusions: These findings suggest that IUGR could affect bile acid and glucolipid metabolism in growing pigs, especially at the 25 kg BW stage, these effects being paralleled by a modification of bile acid derivatives concentrations in the colonic content. Excessive reactive oxygen species (ROS) production leads to oxidative stress in cells, impairing the function of mitochondria and finally inducing cell apoptosis. Considering the essential role of oxidative stress in the pathogenesis of various neurodegenerative diseases and psychiatric disorders, the discovery of novel antioxidants has attracted increasing attention. Herein, a series of novel 1,4-disubstituted piperazine-2,5-dione derivatives were designed, synthesized and evaluated for their antioxidative activity. The results of the 3-(4,5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl)-2,5-diphenyl-2H-tetrazolium bromide (MTT) assay indicated that none of the tested compounds showed significant toxicity to SH-SY5Y cells at concentrations up to 80 μM. Cell counting via flow cytometry revealed that most of the tested compounds could effectively protect SH-SY5Y cells from H2O2-induced oxidative damage at 20 μM. Among these compounds, compound 9r exhibited the best antioxidative activity. Further mechanistic investigation indicated that 9r decreased ROS production and stabilized the mitochondrial membrane potential to restrain cell apoptosis, and promoted cell survival via an IL-6/Nrf2 positive-feedback loop. Perilla frutescens (L.) Britt. (Labiatae), a medicinal plant, has been widely used for the therapy of multiple diseases since about 1800 years ago. It has been demonstrated that the extracts of P. frutescens exert significant anti-inflammatory effects. In this research, two pairs of 7,7′-cyclolignan enantiomers, possessing a cyclobutane moiety, (+)/(−)-perfrancin [(+)/(−)-1] and (+)/(−)-magnosalin [(+)/(−)-2], were separated from P. frutescens leaves. The present study achieved the chiral separation and determined the absolute configuration of (±)-1 and (±)-2. Compounds (+)-1 and (−)-1 have notable anti-inflammatory effects by reducing the secretion of pro-inflammatory factors (NO, TNF-α and IL-6) and the expression of pro-inflammatory mediators (iNOS and COX-2). These findings indicate that cyclolignans are effective substances of P. frutescens with anti-inflammatory activity. This study focuses on tensor Z-eigenvalue localization and its application in the geometric measure of entanglement for multipartite quantum states. A new Z-eigenvalue localization theorem and the bounds for the Z-spectral radius are derived, which are more precise than some of the existing results. On the other hand, we present theoretical bounds of the geometric measure of entanglement for a weakly symmetric multipartite quantum state with non-negative amplitudes by virtue of different distance measures. Introduction: Recurrent dislocation represents the third most common cause of revision surgery after total hip arthroplasty (THA). However, there is a paucity of information on the outcome of revision total hip arthroplasty for recurrent dislocation. In this study, we investigated (1) clinical outcomes of patients that underwent revision THA for recurrent dislocation, and (2) potential risk factors associated with treatment failure in patients who underwent revision total hip arthroplasty for recurrent dislocation. Methods: We retrospectively reviewed 211 consecutive cases of revision total hip arthroplasty for recurrent dislocation, 81 implanted with a constrained liner and 130 with a non-constrained liner with a large-diameter femoral head (> 32 mm). Patient- and implant-related risk factors were analyzed in multivariate regression analysis. Results: At 4.6-year follow-up, 32 of 211 patients (15.1%) underwent re-revision surgery. The most common causes for re-revision included infection (14 patients) and dislocation (10 patients). Kaplan–Meier analysis demonstrates a 5-year survival probability of 77% for patients that underwent revision THA for recurrent dislocation. Osteoporosis, obesity (BMI ≥ 40), spine disease and abductor deficiency are independent risk factors for failure of revision surgery for recurrent dislocation. Liner type (constrained vs. non-constrained) was found not to be associated with failure of revision THA for recurrent dislocation (p = 0.44). Conclusion: This study suggests that THA revision for recurrent dislocation is associated with a high re-revision rate of 15% at mid-term follow-up. Gas-bearing property evaluation and main controlling factor analysis have remained a concern in shale gas research. The application of principal component analysis, an important mathematical statistical method, in gas-bearing property evaluation and main controlling factor analysis of the Longmaxi shale in the Weirong area, Sichuan Basin, was examined. The Longmaxi shale exhibits high heterogeneity, manifested in the organic matter abundance, mineral composition, and pore structure. Seven geological factors, including the temperature, pressure, TOC content, clay content, brittle mineral content, pore volume, and specific surface area (SSA), were selected in principal component analysis. Four principal components with geological significance, such as mineral composition, formation condition, pore structure, and organic matter abundance, were extracted through principal component analysis, and further constituted a comprehensive factor. Shale gas-bearing properties were evaluated according to the score of the comprehensive factor. The Longmaxi shale could be identified as exhibiting good, medium, and poor gas-bearing properties based on the comprehensive factor scores of these samples. According to each geological factor's contribution to the comprehensive factor, combined with geological analysis, it could be considered that gas-bearing properties are primarily controlled by pore volume, SSA, and clay content, followed by TOC content, brittle mineral content, temperature and pressure. Asian cultivated rice is a self-pollinating crop, which has already lost some traits of natural outcrossing in the process of domestication. However, male sterility lines (MSLs) need to have a strong outcrossing ability to produce hybrid seeds by outcrossing with restorer lines of male parents in hybrid rice seed production. Stigma exsertion rate (SER) is a trait related to outcrossing ability. Reconstruction of the high-SER trait is essential in the MSL breeding of rice. In previous studies, we detected eighteen quantitative trait loci (QTLs) for SER from Oryza sativa, Oryza glaberrima , and Oryza glumaepatula using single-segment substitution lines (SSSLs) in the genetic background of Huajingxian 74 (HJX74). In this study, eleven of the QTLs were used to develop pyramiding lines. A total of 29 pyramiding lines with 2–6 QTLs were developed from 10 SSSLs carrying QTLs for SER in the HJX74 genetic background. The results showed that the SER increased with increasing QTLs in the pyramiding lines. The SER in the lines with 5–6 QTLs was as high as wild rice with strong outcrossing ability. The epistasis of additive by additive interaction between QTLs in the pyramiding lines was less-than-additive or negative effect. One QTL, qSER3a-sat , showed minor-effect epistasis and increased higher SER than other QTLs in pyramiding lines. The detection of epistasis of QTLs on SER uncovered the genetic architecture of SER, which provides a basis for using these QTLs to improve SER levels in MSL breeding. Lung cancer continues to be the world's leading cause of cancer death and the treatment of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) has attracted much attention. The tubers of Bletilla striata are regarded as "an excellent medicine for lung diseases" and as the first choice to treat several lung diseases. In this study, seventeen phenanthrene derivatives, including two new compounds (1 and 2), were isolated from the tubers of B. striata. Most compounds showed cytotoxicity against A549 cells. An EdU proliferation assay, a cell cycle assay, a wound healing assay, a transwell migration assay, a flow cytometry assay, and a western blot assay were performed to further investigate the effect of compound 1 on A549 cells. The results showed that compound 1 inhibited cell proliferation and migration and promoted cell apoptosis in A549 cells. The mechanisms might correlate with the regulation of the Akt, MEK/ERK, and Bcl-2/Bax signaling pathways. This article presents a 15-bit quadrature digital power amplifier (DPA) with in-phase and quadrature (IQ)-cell-sharing and transformer-based Doherty operation, which compensates the 3-dB power loss in traditional quadrature architecture and enhances efficiency. Efficiency enhancement at 3-/6-dB power backoffs (PBOs) is obtained on the IQ complex plane to improve average efficiency. A single-transformer-footprint parallel-combining transformer (PCT) power combiner is implemented for compact die size. Fabricated in a 55-nm CMOS technology, the DPA is powered by 1.2-/2.4-V supply voltages and the core circuit only occupies 1.05 $\times $ 1.14-mm2 chip area. It achieves 29.3-dBm peak output power with power added efficiency (PAE) of 43.1%. With 10-MHz 64-quadratic-amplitude modulation (QAM) local thermal equilibrium (LTE) signal, the DPA achieves $P_{\mathrm {avg}}$ of 23.62 dBm and the average PAE of 24.4% with −25.6-dB error vector magnitude (EVM) at 0.85 GHz without using any digital predistortion (DPD) technique. Moreover, for 20-MHz 64-QAM wireless local area network (WLAN) signal, $P_{\mathrm {avg}}$ of 21.01 dBm and the average PAE of 20.1% are obtained with −25.1-dB EVM. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Since the development of indica hybrid rice in the 1970s, great success has been achieved in hybrid rice production in China and around the world. The utilization of inter-subspecific indica–japonica hybrid rice has always been considered due to its stronger heterosis characteristics. However, indica – japonica hybrids face a serious problem of sterility, which hinders the exploitation of their heterosis. In the past decades, the genetic basis of indica – japonica hybrid sterility has been well studied. It was found that in sterile indica – japonica hybrids, female sterility was mainly controlled by the S5 locus and male sterility by the Sa , Sb , Sc , Sd , and Se loci. In this study, we developed wide-compatible indica lines (WCILs) by pyramiding multiple neutral (n) alleles of the hybrid sterility loci. First, we identified Sn alleles of the loci in single-segment substitution lines (SSSLs) in the genetic background of indica Huajingxian 74 (HJX74). Then, the Sn alleles of S5 , Sb , Sc , Sd , and Se loci in SSSLs were pyramided in the HJX74 genetic background. The WCILs carrying Sn alleles at the S5 , Sb , Sc , Sd , and Se loci showed wide compatibility with indica and japonica rice varieties. The terahertz detection sensitivity interaction with other substances has received extensive attention and remains challenging due to the loss of terahertz waves. Herein, a terahertz, multiband sensor with high sensitivity based on the local enhancement effect of an electric field at terahertz frequency is proposed. The designed terahertz sensor is based on a common metamaterial sandwich absorber of electromagnetic energy that only employs an asymmetric metallic strip, which produces three resonance peaks with an absorption coefficient of greater than 95% in the 0.2-1.5 THz range and a maximum Q -factor of 46 at 1.397. Based on the principle of impedance matching, the high absorption of electromagnetic wave energy is reasonably analyzed. Furthermore, the influence of the top metal structure on the absorptivity and resonance frequency is analyzed by simulation optimization, and the optimum structural parameters are obtained. In addition, the influence of the refractive index (RI) change of the sample and dielectric layer on the resonance characteristics of the sensor is analyzed. When the thickness of the surface sample of the terahertz sensor metamaterial-based absorber is changed so that the RI changes in 1-2, the RI sensitivity increases up to 208 GHz/RIU, which can be used as an RI sensor. Furthermore, the influence of the sensor sensitivity and reflection coefficient on the thickness parameters of the sample covered by the sensor surface is analyzed, and the optimal sample thickness is 6 μm. The influence of the incident angle of the THz wave on the detection performance in the TM polarization mode is analyzed, and it is determined that the change in the incident angle in the range of 0-40 degrees has minimal influence on the resonance peak and absorption rate of multiband detection. Breast cancer ranks as the leading cause of death in lethal malignancies among women worldwide, with a sharp increase of incidence since 2008. Triple negative breast cancer (TNBC) gives rise to the largest proportion in breast cancer-related deaths because of its aggressive growth and rapid metastasis. Hence, searching for promising targets and innovative approaches is indispensable for the TNBC treatment. Maackiain (MA), a natural compound with multiple biological activities, could be isolated from different Chinese herbs, such as Spatholobus suberectus and Sophora flavescens. It was the first time to report the anti-cancer effect of MA in TNBC. MA could suppress TNBC cell proliferation, foci formation, migration, and invasion. MA also exerted a significant inhibitory effect on tumor growth of TNBC. Furthermore, MA could induce apoptosis with an increase of GADD45α and a decrease of miR-374a. In contrast, overexpressing miR-374a would result in at least partly affecting the proapoptotic effect of MA and suppressing GADD45α stimulated by MA. These results reveal the anti-TNBC effect of MA in vitro and in vivo , providing evidence for its potential as a drug candidate utilized in TNBC therapy. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Increasing exploration of rare-earth elements (REEs) has resulted in a high REEs' exposure risk. Owing to their persistence and accumulation of REEs in the environment, their adverse effects have caused widespread concern. However, limited toxicological data are available for the adverse effects of yttrium (Y) and its underlying mechanisms of action. In the present study, H9c2 cardiomyocytes were used in vitro model to investigate the cardiotoxicity of yttrium chloride (YCl3). Results show that YCl3 treatment resulted in reactive oxygen species (ROS) overproduction, decrease in ∆Ψm, and DNA damage. Mechanistically, we detected expression levels of protein in response to cellular DNA damage and antioxidative defense. Results indicated that the phosphorylation of histone H2AX remarkably increased in a dose-dependent manner. At a high YCl3-exposure concentration (120 μM), specific DNA damage sensors ATM/ATR-Chk1/Chk2 were significantly decreased. The protein levels of key antioxidant genes Nrf2/PPARγ/HO-1 were also remarkably inhabited. Additionally, the antioxidant N-acetyl-l-cysteine (NAC) pretreatment promoted the activation of antioxidative defense Nrf2/PPARγ signaling pathways, and prevented the production of cellular ROS, thus protecting the DNA from cleavage. Altogether, our findings suggest that YCl3 can induce DNA damage through causing intracellular ROS overproduction and inhibition of antioxidative defense, leading to cytotoxicity in H9c2 cardiomyocytes. It is not easy to compute the entanglement of multipartite pure or mixed states, because it usually involves complex optimization. In this paper, we are devoted to the geometric measure of entanglement of multipartite pure or mixed state by the means of real tensor spectrum theory. On the basis of Z-eigenvalue inclusion theorem and the estimation of weakly symmetric nonnegative tensor Z-spectrum radius, we propose some theoretical upper and lower bounds of the geometric measure of entanglement for weakly symmetric pure state with nonnegative amplitudes for two kinds of geometric measures with different definitions, respectively. Purpose: Numerous educational applications (APP) have been developed to assist traditional classroom teaching and student learning. APP quality plays a critical role in influencing students' learning behaviors. However, the role negative mindsets, especially computer anxiety, play in how APP quality affects student engagement remains unknown. To address the relationships among APP quality, computer anxiety and student engagement in an APP-based learning environment, we developed an extended information system (IS) success model that includes interface and instructor quality. Design/methodology/approach: To empirically test the proposed model, we conducted a survey with a sample of 225 university students and examined the hypotheses using the partial least squares (PLS) method. Findings: Computer anxiety was demonstrated to fully mediate the relationships between student engagement and interface quality and service quality and system quality. In addition, the instructor quality acts as a partial mediator of the relationship between computer anxiety and student engagement. Originality/value: This study reveals the important mediating role of computer anxiety in APP-assisted learning and the special status of instructor quality and user experience in influencing student engagement.
