Proprioception is essential for precise movement as it helps the body transmit important data about its surroundings to the central nervous system for maintaining body posture and position. This study aimed to investigate the effect of direction and joint angle on upper limb proprioception. Thirty individuals (all males) completed a position reproduction activity in 13 directions and three joint angles. It was discovered that upper limb proprioception is dependent on joint angle, direction, and range of motion. The position reproduction error was found to be dependent on the direction, which had a significantly lower accuracy in the direction with a larger range of motion. In addition, upper limb repositioning errors increased at greater limb elevation angles. Our findings also showed that the joint angle did not significantly affect the absolute error of elbow flexion. With an increase in the elbow flexion, the increase of the gravitational moment of the upper arm and hand coupled with the increase of the muscle arm of the biceps brachii possibly causes slight changes in muscle length perceived by spindles or muscular force perceived by Golgi tendon organs. A PPC‐dodecyl glucoside (PPC‐APG) polymer was synthesized by the terpolymerization of carbon dioxide (CO2), propylene oxide (PO), and the bio‐based monomer APG for the first time. The thermal stability and mechanical properties of PPC‐APG were significantly improved compared with those of conventional polypropylene carbonate (PPC), and its glass transition temperature (Tg) was increased by 14°C compared with that of PPC. The 5% heat loss temperature (Td,−5%) and total heat loss temperature (Td,max) of PPC‐APG were increased by 89.1 and 92.1°C, respectively, compared with those of PPC. The tensile strength of PPC‐APG was increased to 25.6 MPa, its elongation at break was decreased to 125.1%, and its thermal elongation and permanent deformation were reduced to 97.2% and 62.9%, respectively, which improved the processability of the material. In addition, the introduction of bio‐based monomers also rendered PPC‐APG functional, and its surface tension reached a maximum of 61.3 mN/m at a concentration of 0.05 g/mL, with a good degradability. Introduction: Pre-HSCT disease control, suboptimal long-term prognosis, and a high recurrence incidence (RI) continue to pose significant challenges for hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT) in juvenilemyelomonocytic leukemia (JMML) patients. Methods: This retrospective cohort study assessed the effectiveness of a decitabine (DAC)-based protocol in JMML patients undergoing HSCT. The pre-HSCT treatment includes initial and bridging treatment. The efficacy of DACmonotherapy versus DAC combined with cytotoxic chemotherapy(C-DAC) as initial treatment was compared, followed by DAC plus FLAG (fludarabine, cytarabine, and GCSF) as bridging treatment. The HSCT regimens were based on DAC, fludarabine, and busulfan. Post-HSCT, low-dose DAC was used as maintenance therapy. The study endpoints focused on pretransplantation simplified clinical response and post-HSCT survival. Results: There were 109 patients, including 45 receiving DAC monotherapy and 64 undergoing C-DAC treatment. 106 patients completed bridging treatment. All patients were administered planned HSCT regimens and post-HSCT treatment. The initial treatment resulted in 88.1% of patients achieving clinical remission without a significant difference between the DAC and C-DAC groups (p=0.769). Clinical remission rates significantly improved following bridging treatment (p=0.019). The 5-year overall survival, leukemia-free survival, and RI were 92.2%, 88.4%, and 8.0%, respectively. A poor clinical response to pre-HSCT treatment emerged as a risk factor for OS (hazard ratio: 9.8, 95% CI: 2.3-41.1, p=0.002). Conclusion: Implementing a DAC-based administration strategy throughout the pre-HSCT period, during HSCT regimens, and in post-HSCT maintenance significantly reduced relapse and improved survival in JMML patients. In this paper, a method for detection of crack locations and the width of basin insulators is proposed. Based on the optical frequency domain reflectometry (OFDR) system, the system utilizes an FBG with high feedback for strain as well as temperature, which is affixed to the surface of the tub insulator, and a common single-mode optical fiber, which is used for transmitting data and connected to the optical backscattering reflectometry interrogator. The interrogator measures the backscattered light from the FBG, which varies with temperature or strain. The method has been used to measure the location and width of several different cracks and can locate the crack position with a spatial resolution of 1 mm and measure the crack width with a resolution of 0.77 mm. The aim of present work was to develop and evaluate Ampelopsis Radix ethanolic extract loaded phytosomes for improved efficacy in colorectal cancer. Ampelopsis Radix ethanolic extract was prepared by Soxhlet extraction process followed by development of phytosomes using lipids and other excipients. The phytosomes were evaluated for surface morphology, particle size analysis, zeta potential, encapsulation efficiency, drug loading, in vitro drug release, Cytotoxicity assay, cellular uptake studies were performed on HCT-116 and SW480 cell lines. In vivo antitumor activity was performed. The phytosomes were found spherical shape with smooth surface characteristics. The drug loading was observed between 29.27 to 42.10 % while particle size of 85 to 130 nm was found. Phytosomes showed desired release pattern which is required for cancer treatment. Phytosomes showed maximum antiproliferative activity on cell lines over the period of 24 hours and showed highest internalization within both types of cell lines. The survival rate of animals in phytosomes treated group was found to be 100% proving the safety and efficacy. Phytosomes showed highest antitumor activity as compared to other formulations. As a new engine to promote global economic and social development, information and communication technology (ICT) plays a key role in the field of modern economy. The aim of this paper is to investigate the nexus between ICT and green total factor productivity (GTFP) on a global scale. An extended data envelopment analysis model (DEA), named WINDOWS-US-SBM, was constructed for calculating the GTFP of 65 countries from 2007 to 2019. This paper empirically analyzes the spatial effect and the transmission mechanism of ICT development on GTFP in countries from different income groups. The results show a prominent imbalance between ICT development and GTFP in various countries. ICT can effectively improve GTFP and play a crucial role in lower middle-income countries. The development of ICT can improve GTFP through technological progress, energy intensity, and trade openness. Long-term hydrostatic (LTH) capacity test up to 10,000 h of polyethylene pipe (PE pipe) was successfully conducted according to Arrhenius theory. It was revealed that in some cases the pipe damage points initiate within the marker line on pipe body, indicating that the addictive of marker line could somehow weaken the mechanical property of pipe base materials. Test pressure test time data was fitted using dual-parameter model under the guidance of ISO9080: 2012, and its serving life was calculated as 28.9 years, ductile-brittle transition point was found at 8456 h. MADS-box genes play a vital role in the vegetative and reproductive growth of plants. In this study, a MiAGL1 gene was cloned and identified from mango (Mangifera indica L.). The DNA sequence of AGAMOUS-LIKE1 (MiAGL1) was 8741 bp in length, including a 723 bp open reading frame and encoding 241 amino acids. MiAGL1 belongs to the MADS-box family. This gene was expressed not only in vegetative tissues but also in floral organs, and the highest expression level was found in flowers. MiAGL1 was expressed in leaves at different floral developmental stages, but the peak appeared at the floral organ differentiation stage. MiAGL1 was present in the cell membrane and nucleus. Ectopic expression of MiAGL1 in Arabidopsis resulted in significant early flowering under long-day conditions. Overexpression of MiAGL1 resulted in abnormal flowering and silique morphology, such as a decrease or absence of petals, smaller petals, and shorter, bent or distorted capsules. The endogenous Arabidopsis thaliana flowering-related genes FT, AP1, and SEP were significantly upregulated, and AtSVP was downregulated in the transgenic lines. Plant-derived exosome-like nanoparticles (ELNs) have demonstrated crosskingdom capabilities in regulating intercellular communication, facilitating drug delivery, and providing therapeutic interventions in humans. However, the functional attributes of konjac-derived ELNs (K-ELNs) remain largely unexplored. This study investigates the isolation, characterization, and functional analysis of K-ELNs, along with the profiling and differential expression analysis of associated miRNAs in both K-ELNs and Konjac tissues. K-ELNs were successfully isolated and characterized from two konjac species using ultracentrifugation, followed by Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM) and Nanoparticle Tracking Analysis (NTA). Small RNA sequencing identified a total of 3,259 miRNAs across all samples. Differential expression analysis revealed significant differences in miRNA profiles between K-ELNs and tissue samples. Gene Ontology (GO) and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG) functional enrichment analysis of target genes provided insights into their roles in modulating pathways associated with diseases such as cancer and neurodegenerative disorders. Additionally, six miRNAs were selected for validation of sequencing results via RT-qPCR. The 5'RLM-RACE method was employed to validate the cleavage sites between differentially expressed miRNAs (DEMs) and their predicted target genes, further substantiating the regulatory roles of miRNAs in konjac. The findings of this study enhance our understanding of the molecular mechanisms underlying the biological functions and applications of K-ELNs, laying the groundwork for future research into their potential therapeutic roles in human health. Objective: This study aims to assess the effectiveness of the National Early Warning Score 2 (NEWS2) versus Glasgow Coma Scale (GCS) in predicting hospital mortality among patients with stroke and traumatic brain injury (TBI). Location: This multicenter study was conducted at two anonymized tertiary care hospitals in distinct climatic regions of China, with a combined annual emergency admission exceeding 10,000 patients. Patients: The study included 2,276 adult emergency admissions diagnosed with stroke (n = 1,088) or TBI (n = 1,188) from January 2021 to December 2023, excluding those with chronic pulmonary disease, severe cardiac conditions, or a history of brain surgery. Measuring and main outcomes: The receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve and the area under the curve (AUC) were utilized to analyze the predictive accuracy of NEWS2 and GCS for hospital mortality at 24, 48, and 72 h postadmission and at discharge. Results: Out of 2,276 patients (mean age 61.4, 65.6% male), 1855 survived while 421 succumbed. NEWS2 demonstrated superior predictive accuracy (AUC = 0.962) over GCS (AUC = 0.854) for overall hospital mortality. Specifically, NEWS2 outperformed GCS in predicting mortality at 24 h (0.917 vs. 0.843), 48 h (0.893 vs. 0.803), and 72 h (0.902 vs. 0.763). Notably, despite a higher AUC for NEWS2 at predicting 24-h hospital mortality, the sensitivity and specificity of GCS were considerably lower (12 and 31%, respectively) compared to NEWS2 (sensitivity of 95% and specificity of 81%). Subgroup analysis showed NEWS2 outperforming GCS in predicting in-hospital mortality for TBI and stroke patients. For TBI patients (n = 260), NEWS2 had an AUC of 0.960 (95% CI: 0.948-0.973) vs. GCS's AUC of 0.811 (95% CI: 0.781-0.840). For stroke patients (n = 161), NEWS2 had an AUC of 0.930 (95% CI: 0.908-0.952) vs. GCS's AUC of 0.858 (95% CI, 0.823-0.892). NEWS2 showed greater sensitivity in both groups, highlighting its effectiveness in identifying high-risk neurological patients. Conclusion: NEWS2 scores are more precise and effective in predicting hospital mortality in stroke and TBI patients compared to GCS scores, although slightly less so within the first 24 h. Atherosclerosis (AS) is the primary pathology behind various cardiovascular diseases and the leading cause of death and disability globally. Recent evidence suggests that AS is a chronic vascular inflammatory disease caused by multiple factors. In this context, the NLRP3 inflammasome, acting as a signal transducer of the immune system, plays a critical role in the onset and progression of AS. The NLRP3 inflammasome is involved in endothelial injury, foam cell formation, and pyroptosis in AS. Therefore, targeting the NLRP3 inflammasome offers a new treatment strategy for AS. This review highlights the latest insights into AS pathogenesis and the pharmacological therapies targeting the NLRP3 inflammasome, focusing on optimal targets for small molecule inhibitors. Medicinal food varieties developed according to the theory of medical and edible homologues are effective at preventing and treating chronic diseases and in health care. As of 2022, 110 types of traditional Chinese medicines from the same source of medicine and food have been published by the National Health Commission. Inflammation is the immune system's first response to injury, infection, and stress. Chronic inflammation is closely related to many diseases such as atherosclerosis and cancer. Therefore, timely intervention for inflammation is the mainstay treatment for other complex diseases. However, some traditional anti-inflammatory drugs on the market are commonly associated with a number of adverse effects, which seriously affect the health and safety of patients. Therefore, the in-depth development of new safe, harmless, and effective anti-inflammatory drugs has become a hot topic of research and an urgent clinical need. Polysaccharides, one of the main active ingredients of medical and edible homologous traditional Chinese medicines (MEHTCMs), have been confirmed by a large number of studies to exert anti-inflammatory effects through multiple targets and are considered potential natural anti-inflammatory drugs. In addition, the structure of medical and edible homologous traditional Chinese medicines' polysaccharides (MEHTCMPs) may be the key factor determining their anti-inflammatory activity, which makes the underlying the anti-inflammatory effects of polysaccharides and their structure–efficacy relationship hot topics of domestic and international research. However, due to the limitations of the current analytical techniques and tools, the structures have not been fully elucidated and the structure–efficacy relationship is relatively ambiguous, which are some of the difficulties in the process of developing and utilizing MEHTCMPs as novel anti-inflammatory drugs in the future. For this reason, this paper summarizes the potential anti-inflammatory mechanisms of MEHTCMPs, such as the regulation of the Toll-like receptor-related signaling pathway, MAPK signaling pathway, JAK-STAT signaling pathway, NLRP3 signaling pathway, PI3K-AKT signaling pathway, PPAR-γ signaling pathway, Nrf2-HO-1 signaling pathway, and the regulation of intestinal flora, and it systematically analyzes and evaluates the relationships between the anti-inflammatory activity of MEHTCMPs and their structures. Background: The correlation between oxidative stress and female infertility pathogenesis was established, and the oxidative balance score (OBS) can serve as a measure of overall oxidative stress burden within an individual. Prior reports have not addressed the relationship between OBS and female infertility. This study endeavors to investigate the association between infertility risk in female and OBS. Methods: The analysis focused on data from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey 2013-2018. OBS was determined from 16 dietary components and 4 lifestyle components. Multivariate logistic regression was employed to investigate the relationship between OBS and female infertility. Further stratified analysis was conducted to examine the associations across various subgroups. To elucidate the dose-response relationship between infertility risk in female and OBS, a restricted cubic spline function was employed. Results: The study included a total of 1410 participants. Through weighted multivariable logistic regression analysis, we observed a consistent inverse correlation between OBS and the risk of female infertility [OR (95% CI) = 0.97 (0.95, 0.99), p = 0.047]. When participants were segregated into quartiles based on OBS, those in the highest quartile had a 61% [OR (95% CI) = 0.39 (0.2, 0.79), p = 0.01] reduced risk of infertility compared to those in the lowest quartile of OBS. A trend test assessing OBS by quartile also revealed the relationship between OBS and female infertility. This correlation remained constant across both dietary and lifestyle OBS. Additionally, lifestyle OBS and female infertility exhibited a nonlinear association. A sensitivity analysis verified the consistency of our findings. Conclusion: The study found that a higher OBS is associated with a lower prevalence of female infertility. These results emphasized the potential role of oxidative homeostasis in the pathogenesis of infertility and highlighted the importance of follow-up studies and prevention strategies. This study delved into the mechanism by which the principal component of Astragali Radix regulated ferroptosis in the context of hypoxia-induced pulmonary hypertension, employing a combination of network pharmacology and experimental validation techniques. Active constituents of Astragali Radix and their corresponding targets were identified using the TCMSP database, while therapeutic targets associated with hypoxia-induced pulmonary hypertension were sourced from the GeneCards database. The Venn online tool facilitated the identification of overlapping targets between the active constituents of Astragali Radix and hypoxia-induced pulmonary hypertension. Interaction network diagrams depicting the relationship between Astragali Radix's active constituents and their targets were constructed using Cytoscape software, with core targets and sub-networks identified using the CytoHubba plug-in. Gene ontology (GO) and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG) pathway enrichment analyses were conducted using the DAVID database. Additionally, the FerrDb database was consulted to analyze genes implicated in regulating ferroptosis. The investigation revealed 18 active constituents selected from Astragali Radix, with quercetin emerging as the key component. A total of 35 potential targets associated with Astragali Radix in regulating ferroptosis and addressing hypoxia-induced pulmonary hypertension were predicted. Experimental validation demonstrated that quercetin could inhibit the MAPK signaling pathway, resulting in reduced Fe2+ and lipid peroxide levels, increased GPX4 expression, and the reversal of ferroptosis. In summary, this study elucidated the fundamental constituents and pivotal signaling pathways through which Astragali Radix modulated ferroptosis and mitigated hypoxia-induced pulmonary hypertension. Specifically, quercetin, a core constituent of Astragali Radix, was observed to inhibit ferroptosis in pulmonary arterial smooth muscle cells via the MAPK pathway and alleviate hypoxia-induced pulmonary hypertension. Objective: To investigate the effect of low concentration of Wenyang Tonglin Decoction (WTD) on the binding conditions of R45 plasmid conjugative transfer under liquid phase conjugation and its mechanism. Methods: Escherichia coli CP9 (R45) and Staphylococcus aureus RN450RF were cultured in medium containing WTD, and their minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) values were obtained. Using promoter fusion technology, E. coli CP9 (R45) containing a promoter fusion was obtained. β-Galactosidase activity of TrfAp and TrbBp was tested, and the mRNA expression of regulatory factors (TrbA, KorA, and KorB) was detected by real-time fluorescent quantitative polymerase chain reaction. Results: The MIC of E. coli CP9 (R45) was 400 g/L and that of S. aureus RN450RF was 200 g/L. When the drug concentration in the culture medium was 200 g/L, the highest number of conjugants was (3.47 ±0.20) × 107 CFU/mL At 90 h of conjugation, the maximum number of conjugants was (1.15 ±0.06) × 108 CFU/mL When the initial bacterial concentration was 108 CFU/mL, the maximum number of conjugants was (3.47 ± 0.20) × 107 CFU/mL. When the drug concentration was 200 g/L, the β-galactosidase activity of TrfAp and TrbBp significantly increased; the relative quantification of TrbA, KorA and KorB were significantly inhibited. Purpose: The accuracy of real-time sound source localization is an important issue in acoustics. The steered sample algorithm (SSA), an algorithm developed based on the reciprocity of wave propagation, has a higher spatial resolution than the steered response power – phase transform (SRP-PHAT) algorithm. The algorithm can also render an accurate sound source localization under limited array elements and low signal-to-noise ratio. However, the actual implementation of the algorithm is usually based on an expensive grid search process, which makes the computational cost a serious problem. Methods: An improved implementing algorithm based on beetle swarm optimization (BSO) is proposed for SSA, which can effectively reduce the computational cost. The modified algorithm has a good convergence speed as the SSA algorithm has fewer local extremums. Results: Experimental results demonstrate that compared with steered sample algorithm (SSA), the proposed algorithm has almost the same localization performance and robustness with lower computational cost. Conclusion: This paper proposes an improved algorithm about SSA algorithm. Compared with SRC algorithm, the amount of computation is reduced more than twice. Meanwhile, the proposed algorithm inherits the anti-noise performance of SSA. Under the condition of low SNR, the positioning success rate and RMSE performance are excellent. Under the condition of high reverberation, the improved algorithm needs more particles to ensure the positioning performance. When the number of particles is not less than 70, the localization success rate of the proposed algorithm is highly consistent with the conventional SSA, and the RMSE is slightly less than the conventional SSA. Low-heat Portland cement and ground granulated blast furnace slag are widely used for the preparation of hydraulic concrete. Nevertheless, the effect and mechanism of corrosion on low-heat Portland cement paste mixed with ground granulated blast furnace slag need to be further explored. This paper investigated the impact of ground granulated blast furnace slag on the calcium leaching of low-heat Portland cement paste by evaluating its mass loss, porosity, leaching depth, compressive strength, and Vickers hardness, and comparing it with the leaching performance of ordinary Portland cement paste. Furthermore, the phase composition and morphology of low-heat Portland cement paste containing ground granulated blast furnace slag were analyzed by X-ray diffraction, mercury intrusion porosimetry, and scanning electron microscopy. The results indicate that, after 180 days of soaking in ammonium chloride solution, the mass loss rate, growth rate of porosity, leaching depth, and compressive strength loss rate of low-heat Portland cement paste were 8.0%, 43.6%, 9.1 mm, and 27.7%, respectively, while those of ordinary Portland cement paste were 7.4%, 37.8%, 8.4 mm, and 30.1%, indicating that low-heat Portland cement paste is slightly more damaging than ordinary Portland cement. The addition of ground granulated blast furnace slag could significantly improve the leaching resistance of low-heat Portland cement. For instance, after adding 20% ground granulated blast furnace slag, the above test values were 2.4%, 28.5%, 5.6 mm, and 20.8%, respectively. The reason for this is that ground granulated blast furnace slag has the potential to reduce the porosity of low-heat Portland cement paste, and it can also undergo the secondary hydration reaction with its hydration product Ca(OH)2 to enhance the paste structure. Context: Diabetic kidney disease (DKD) affects nearly 40% of diabetic patients, often leading to end-stage renal disease that requires renal replacement therapies, such as dialysis and transplantation. the gut microbiota, an integral aspect of human evolution, plays a crucial role in this condition. Traditional chinese medicine (TCM) has shown promising outcomes in ameliorating DKD by addressing the gut microbiota. Objective: this review elucidates the modifications in gut microbiota observed in DKD and explores the impact of TCM interventions on correcting microbial dysregulation. Methods: we searched relevant articles from databases including web of Science, PubMed, ScienceDirect, wiley, and Springer Nature. the following keywords were used: diabetic kidney disease, diabetic nephropathy, gut microbiota, natural product, TCM, chinese herbal medicine, and chinese medicinal herbs. Rigorous criteria were applied to identify high-quality studies on tcM interventions against DKD. Results: Dysregulation of the gut microbiota, including Lactobacillus, Streptococcus, and Clostridium, has been observed in individuals with DKD. Key indicators of microbial dysregulation include increased uremic solutes and decreased short-chain fatty acids. various TCM therapies, such as formulas, tablets, granules, capsules, and decoctions, exhibit unique advantages in regulating the disordered microbiota to treat DKD. Conclusion: this review highlights the importance of targeting the gut-kidney axis to regulate microbial disorders, their metabolites, and associated signaling pathways in DKD. The Qing-Re-Xiao-Zheng formula, the Shenyan Kangfu tablet, the Huangkui capsule, and the Bekhogainsam decoction are potential candidates to address the gut-kidney axis. Background and aims: Metabolic reprogramming has been found to be a typical feature of tumors. Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), a cancer with high morbidity and mortality, has been extensively studied for its metabolic reprogrammingrelated mechanisms. Our study aims to identify the hotspots and frontiers of metabolic reprogramming research in HCC and to provide guidance for future scientific research and decision-making in HCC metabolism. Methods: Relevant studies on the metabolic reprogramming of HCC were derived from the Web of Science Core Collection (WoSCC) database up until November 2023. The bibliometrix tools in R were used for scientometric analysis and visualization. Results: From 2011 to 2023, a total of 575 publications were obtained from WoSCC that met the established criteria. These publications involved 3,904 researchers and 948 organizations in 37 countries, with an average annual growth rate of 39.11% in research. These studies were published in 233 journals, with Cancers (n = 29) ranking first, followed by Frontiers in Oncology (n = 20) and International Journal of Molecular Sciences (n = 19). The top ten journals accounted for 26% of the 575 studies. The most prolific authors were Wang J (n = 14), Li Y (n = 12), and Liu J (n = 12). The country with the most publications is China, followed by the United States, Italy, and France. Fudan University had the largest percentage of research results with 15.48% (n = 89). Ally A's paper in Cell has the most citations. A total of 1,204 keywords were analyzed, with the trend themes such as "glycolysis," "tumor microenvironment," "Warburg effect," "mitochondria," "hypoxia," etc. Co-occurrence network and cluster analysis revealed the relationships between keywords, authors, publications, and journals. Moreover, the close collaboration between countries in this field was elucidated. Conclusion: This bibliometric and visual analysis delves into studies related to metabolic reprogramming in HCC between 2012 and 2023, elucidating the characteristics of research in this field, which has gradually moved away from single glycolipid metabolism studies to the integration of overall metabolism in the body, pointing out the trend of research topics, and the dynamics of the interaction between the tumor microenvironment and metabolic reprogramming will be the future direction of research, which provides blueprints and inspirations for HCC prevention and treatment programs to the researchers in this field. Sodium metal anodes have received considerable attention due to their high theoretical capacity, low reduction potential, and natural abundance in sodium batteries. Nevertheless, uneven sodium ion (Na+) deposition accelerates uncontrolled dendrite growth and an unstable solid electrolyte interphase (SEI) layer hinders Na+ diffusion, which eventually leads to short circuits and potential safety hazards. Herein, a multiphase artificial interphase layer composed of sodium bismuth alloy (BiNa3) and sodium chloride (NaCl) is applied to improve the interface stability of sodium metal anodes. Theoretical calculations and experimental results demonstrate that the BiNa3 alloy with good sodiophilic properties can function as nucleation sites to lower the nucleation barrier, induce uniform Na+ flux, and guide dendrite-free Na deposition. Meanwhile, a NaCl compound with high ionic conductivity can lower the Na+ diffusion barrier and improve diffusion kinetics. As a result, the assembled symmetric cells with a sodium metal anode modified by using a multiphase artificial interphase layer exhibit a remarkable cycling performance of 1200 h with a low overpotential of 20 mV at 3 mA cm−2 and 3 mA h cm−2. The full battery assembled with the Na3V2(PO4)3 cathode retains an ultrahigh capacity of 99 mA h g−1 even after 1000 cycles at 5C. Amid the escalating global climatic challenges, hydrological risks significantly influence human settlement patterns, underscoring the imperative for an in-depth comprehension of hydrological change's ramifications on human migration. However, predominant research has been circumscribed to the national level. The study delves into the nonlinear effects of hydrological risks on migration dynamics in 46,776 global subnational units. Meanwhile, leveraging remote sensing, we procured globally consistent metrics of hydrological intrusion exposure, offering a holistic risk assessment encompassing hazard, exposure, and vulnerability dimensions, thus complementing previous work. Here, we show that exposure is the primary migration driver, surpassing socioeconomic factors. Surrounding disparities further intensified exposure's impact. Vulnerable groups, especially the economically disadvantaged and elderly, tend to remain in high-risk areas, with the former predominantly migrating within proximate vicinities. The nonlinear analysis delineates an S-shaped trajectory for hydrological exposure, transitioning from resistance to migration and culminating in entrapment, revealing dependence on settlement resilience and adaptability. Hydrological risks drive migration more than socioeconomic factors. Vulnerable groups often stay in high-risk areas or migrate nearby. The development of nanomedicines with simplified compositions and synergistic theranostic functionalities remains a great challenge. Herein, we develop a simple method to integrate both atovaquone (ATO, a mitochondrial inhibitor) and cisplatin within tannic acid (TA)–iron (Fe) networks coated with hyaluronic acid (HA) for targeted magnetic resonance (MR) imaging-guided chemo–chemodynamic synergistic therapy. The formed TFP@ATO-HA displayed good colloidal stability with a mean size of 95.5 nm, which could accumulate at tumor sites after circulation and be specifically taken up by metastatic 4T1 cells overexpressing CD44 receptors. In the tumor microenvironment, TFP@ATO-HA could release ATO/cisplatin and Fe3+ in a pH-responsive manner, deplete glutathione, and generate reactive oxygen species with endogenous H2O2 for chemodynamic therapy (CDT). Additionally, ATO could enhance chemotherapeutic efficacy by inhibiting mitochondrial respiration, relieving hypoxia, and amplifying the CDT effect by decreasing intracellular pH and elevating Fenton reaction efficiency. In vivo experiments demonstrated that TFP@ATO-HA could effectively inhibit tumor growth and suppress lung metastases without obvious systemic toxicity. Furthermore, TFP@ATO-HA exhibited a r1 relaxivity of 2.6 mM−1 s−1 and targeted MR imaging of 4T1 tumors. Dual drug-loaded metal–phenolic networks can be easily prepared and act as effective theranostic nanoplatforms for targeted MR imaging and synergistic chemo–chemodynamic therapy. Background: We aimed to characterize the relationship between the serum 25-hydroxyvitamin D concentration and the circulating lipid concentrations of patients with NAFLD in the Hulunbuir region of China. Methods: One hundred fifty-six patients, who were diagnosed with NAFLD in the Physical Examination Department of the Second Clinical College of Inner Mongolia University for the Nationalities between January 2021 and March 2023, were recruited as NAFLD group, and 160 healthy people were recruited as a control group during the same period. The serum 25(OH)VitD, TBIL, TG, TC, LDL-C, HDL-C, AST, ALT, GGT, and FPG activities of the participants were measured, and hepatic ultrasonography was performed. Results: The BMI of the NAFLD group was higher than of the control group (p < 0.05). The serum 25(OH)VitD3 (p < 0.05) and the HDL-C concentrations of the NAFLD group were lower than those of the normal control group. However, the AST (p < 0.05), ALT (p < 0.05), and GGT (p < 0.05) activities, and the serum TG (p < 0.05), TC (p < 0.05), LDL-C (p < 0.05), and the fasting glucose (p < 0.05) concentrations of the NAFLD group were higher than those of the normal control group. The serum 25(OH)VitD3 concentrations of the NAFLD group significantly correlated negatively with BMI (r = -0.302, p < 0.01), TG (r = -0.221, p < 0.05), and fasting glucose (r = -0.236, p < 0.05). The BMI, TG, and fasting glucose of vitamin D-deficient participants were higher than of the participants with adequate or insufficient levels of vitamin D (p < 0.05). Finally, the BMI of vitamin D-deficient participants was higher than of those with an adequate vitamin D status (p < 0.05). Conclusions: A deficiency of 25(OH)VitD is more common in people from the Hulunbuir region of China than elsewhere. In addition, the vitamin D status is significantly associated with NAFLD; as the serum vitamin D concentration decreases, patients with NAFLD show greater dyslipidemia and hyperglycemia and a higher BMI. Nutritional therapy, for example through beer, is the best solution to human chronic diseases. In this article, we demonstrate the physiological mechanisms of the functional ingredients in beer with health-promoting effects, based on the PubMed, Google, CNKI, and ISI Web of Science databases, published from 1997 to 2024. Beer, a complex of barley malt and hops, is rich in functional ingredients. The health effects of beer against 26 chronic diseases are highly similar to those of barley due to the physiological mechanisms of polyphenols (phenolic acids, flavonoids), melatonin, minerals, bitter acids, vitamins, and peptides. Functional beer with low purine and high active ingredients made from pure barley malt, as well as an additional functional food, represents an important development direction, specifically, ginger beer, ginseng beer, and coix-lily beer, as consumed by our ancestors ca. 9000 years ago. Low-purine beer can be produced via enzymatic and biological degradation and adsorption of purines, as well as dandelion addition. Therefore, this review paper not only reveals the physiological mechanisms of beer in overcoming chronic human diseases, but also provides a scientific basis for the development of functional beer with health-promoting effects. Rapid industrialization and urbanization have caused severe soil contamination with cadmium (Cd) necessitating effective remediation strategies. Phytoremediation is a widely adopted technology for remediating Cdcontaminated soil. Previous studies have shown that Abelmoschus manihot has a high Cd accumulation capacity and tolerance indicating its potential for Cd soil remediation. However, the mechanisms underlying its response to Cd stress remain unclear. In this study, physiological, transcriptomic, and metabolomic analyses were conducted to explore the response of A. manihot roots to Cd stress at different time points. The results revealed that Cd stress significantly increased malondialdehyde (MDA) levels in A. manihot, which simultaneously activated its antioxidant defense system, enhancing the activities of superoxide dismutase (SOD), peroxidase (POD), and catalase (CAT) by 19.73%-50%, 22.87%-38.89%, and 32.31%-45.40% at 12 h, 36 h, 72 h, and 7 days, respectively, compared with those in the control (CK). Moreover, transcriptomic and metabolomic analyses revealed 245, 5,708, 9,834, and 2,323 differentially expressed genes (DEGs), along with 66, 62, 156, and 90 differentially expressed metabolites (DEMs) at 12 h, 36 h, 72 h, and 7 days, respectively. Through weighted gene coexpression network analysis (WGCNA) of physiological indicators and transcript expression, eight hub genes involved in phenylpropanoid biosynthesis, signal transduction, and metal transport were identified. In addition, integrative analyses of metabolomic and transcriptomic data highlighted the activation of lipid metabolism and phenylpropanoid biosynthesis pathways under Cd stress suggesting that these pathways play crucial roles in the detoxification process and in enhancing Cd tolerance in A. manihot. Magnesium alloy is currently regarded as the most favourable biodegradable metal; however, obstacles remain to be overcome in terms of managing its corrosion and ensuring its biocompatibility. In this study, a metal–organic complex comprising Ca ions incorporated in tannic acid (TA) was prepared and used to coat magnesium alloy by chemical conversion and dipping processes, followed by modification with stearic acid (SA). This metal–organic complex coating was demonstrated to be homogeneous and compact, and it significantly improved the electrochemical corrosion resistance and long-term degradation behaviour of the coated samples. Consequently, the well-controlled release of Mg and Ca ions, as well as the osteo-compatible TA and SA molecules, promoted the proliferation of osteoblast cells. Cell apoptosis plays an important role in early brain injury (EBI) after subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH). Heat shock protein 27 (HSP27), a member of the small heat shock protein (HSP) family, is induced by various stress factors and exerts protective role on cells. However, the role of HSP27 in brain injury after SAH needs to be further clarified. Here, we reported that HSP27 level of cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) is increased obviously at day 1 in patients with aneurysmal SAH (aSAH) and related to the grades of Hunt and Hess (HH), World Federation of Neurological Surgeons (WFNS), and Fisher score. In rat SAH model, HSP27 of CSF is first increased and then obviously declined; overexpression of HSP27, not knockdown of HSP27, attenuates SAH-induced neurological deficit and cell apoptosis in the basal cortex; and overexpression of HSP27 effectively suppresses SAH-elevated activation of mitogen-activated protein Kinase Kinase 4 (MKK4), the c-Jun N-terminal kinase (JNK), c-Jun, and caspase-3. In an in vitro hemolysate-damaged cortical neuron model, HSP2765−90 peptide effectively inhibits hemolysate-induced neuron death. Furthermore, TAT-HSP2765−90 peptide, a fusion peptide consisting of trans-activating regulatory protein (TAT) of HIV and HSP2765−90 peptide, effectively attenuates SAH-induced neurological deficit and cell apoptosis in the basal cortex of rats. A single crystal composed of one-dimensional coordinated polymers, [CdCl2(1-methyl-2-pyridone)]n, has been synthesized and characterized. This compound exhibits outstanding elastic bending due to the molecular spring nature of the CdCl2 coordination framework and weak intermolecular interactions between the coordination chains. Owing to the helical arrangement of organic ligands surrounding the coordination structure, the compound crystallizes in a chiral space group. Humans are often exposed to a variety of toxic substances (including some drugs, herbs, environmental pollutants); all these heterologous substances can result in metabolic changes in organism. Clarifying their metabolic details will help to understand the beneficial and toxic effects of those heterologous substances. Traditional toxicology research tends to focus on toxic doses and time rather than on mechanisms and detoxification methods. Compared with other omics methods, metabolomics has unique, dynamic, and phenotypic characteristics. Similarly, metabolomics can link the interaction between genes and the environment; it represents both the downstream output of the genome and the upstream input of the environment, and reflects the interactions between biological system and environmental stimulation. It highlighting not only biological mechanisms but also closely related to the phenotype of biological events, which is widely employed in toxicology studies presently. Therefore, strengthening toxicological research based on metabolomics can help better understand the mechanisms of action and toxicological effects of toxic substances. Thus, present review systematically summarized and discussed the current application status of metabolomics approaches in toxicology, which might contribute to provide a deeper understanding of the processes and mechanisms of toxicity caused by related chemicals and herbal medicines, thereby reducing the occurrence of damage and providing technical reference for toxicity research. A new kinetic study of the uncatalyzed bromate oscillator using dark tea without pre-treatment was carried out. The difference of dark tea oscillating system with and without manganese ion as catalyst was compared. The reaction was studied with different starting concentrations of the reagents (sulfuric acid and potassium bromate) and the substrate of dark tea, and the results indicate that the concentration of dark tea has a wide range between 1 with 30 g/L in dark tea-KBrO3-H2SO4 system, the lowest concentration of potassium bromate and sulfuric acid are 0.028 mol/L and 0.24 mol/L. The effects of the temperature were also investigated and the activation energy of oscillation was calculated to 88.78 kJ/mol. Sodium–glucose cotransporter 2 inhibitors, efficacious antidiabetic agents that have cardiovascular and renal benefits, can promote pancreatic β-cell regeneration in type 2 diabetic mice. However, the underlying mechanism remains unclear. In this study, we aimed to use multiomics to identify the mediators involved in β-cell regeneration induced by dapagliflozin. We showed that dapagliflozin lowered blood glucose level, upregulated plasma insulin level, and increased islet area in db/db mice. Dapagliflozin reshaped gut microbiota and modulated microbiotic and plasmatic metabolites related to tryptophan metabolism, especially l-tryptophan, in the diabetic mice. Notably, l-tryptophan upregulated the mRNA level of glucagon-like peptide 1 (GLP-1) production–related gene (Gcg and Pcsk1) expression and promoted GLP-1 secretion in cultured mouse intestinal L cells, and it increased the supernatant insulin level in primary human islets, which was eliminated by GPR142 antagonist. Transplant of fecal microbiota from dapagliflozin-treated mice, supplementation of l-tryptophan, or treatment with dapagliflozin upregulated l-tryptophan, GLP-1, and insulin or C-peptide levels and promoted β-cell regeneration in db/db mice. Addition of exendin 9-39, a GLP-1 receptor (GLP-1R) antagonist, or pancreatic Glp1r knockout diminished these beneficial effects. In summary, treatment with dapagliflozin in type 2 diabetic mice promotes β-cell regeneration by upregulating GLP-1 production, which is mediated via gut microbiota and tryptophan metabolism. Molecular subtyping of gastric cancer (GC) aims to comprehend its genetic landscape. However, the efficacy of current subtyping methods is hampered by their mixed use of molecular features, a lack of strategy optimization, and the limited availability of public GC datasets. There is a pressing need for a precise and easily adoptable subtyping approach for early DNA‐based screening and treatment. Based on TCGA subtypes, we developed a novel DNA‐based hierarchical classifier for gastric cancer molecular subtyping (HCG), which employs gene mutations, copy number aberrations, and methylation patterns as predictors. By incorporating the closely related esophageal adenocarcinomas dataset, we expanded the TCGA GC dataset for the training and testing of HCG (n = 453). The optimization of HCG was achieved through three hierarchical strategies using Lasso‐Logistic regression, evaluated by their overall the area under receiver operating characteristic curve (auROC), accuracy, F1 score, the area under precision‐recall curve (auPRC) and their capability for clinical stratification using multivariate survival analysis. Subtype‐specific DNA alteration biomarkers were discerned through difference tests based on HCG defined subtypes. Our HCG classifier demonstrated superior performance in terms of overall auROC (0.95), accuracy (0.88), F1 score (0.87) and auPRC (0.86), significantly improving the clinical stratification of patients (overall p‐value = 0.032). Difference tests identified 25 subtype‐specific DNA alterations, including a high mutation rate in the SYNE1, ITGB4, and COL22A1 genes for the MSI subtype, and hypermethylation of ALS2CL, KIAA0406, and RPRD1B genes for the EBV subtype. HCG is an accurate and robust classifier for DNA‐based GC molecular subtyping with highly predictive clinical stratification performance. Chronic atrophic gastritis (AG) is initiated mainly by Helicobacter pylori infection, which may progress to stomach cancer following the Correa's cascade. The current treatment regimen is H. pylori eradication, yet evidence is lacking that this treatment is effective on later stages of AG especially gastric gland atrophy. Here, using AG mouse model, patient samples, gastric organoids, and lineage tracing, this study unraveled gastric stem cell (GSC) defect as a crucial pathogenic factor in AG in mouse and human. Moreover, a natural peptide is isolated from a traditional Chinese medicine that activated GSCs to regenerate gastric epithelia in experimental AG models and revitalized the atrophic gastric organoids derived from patients. It is further shown that the peptide exerts its functions by stabilizing the EGF‐EGFR complex and specifically activating the downstream ERK and Stat1 signaling.
