Immunotherapy based on immune checkpoint genes (ICGs) has recently made significant progress in the treatment of bladder cancer patients, but many patients still cannot benefit from it. In the present study, we aimed to perform a comprehensive analysis of ICGs in bladder cancer tissues with the aim of evaluating patient responsiveness to immunotherapy and prognosis. We scored ICGs in each BLCA patient from TCGA and GEO databases by using ssGSEA and selected genes that were significantly associated with ICGs scores by using the WCGNA algorithm. NMF clustering analysis was performed to identify different bladder cancer molecular subtypes based on the expression of ICGs-related genes. Based on the immune related genes differentially expressed among subgroups, we further constructed a novel stratified model containing nine genes by uni-COX regression, LASSO regression, SVM algorithm and multi-COX regression. The model and the nomogram constructed based on the model can accurately predict the prognosis of bladder cancer patients. Besides, the patients classified based on this model have large differences in sensitivity to immunotherapy and chemotherapy, which can provide a reference for individualized treatment of bladder cancer. With the rapid growth of energy storage capacitors in advanced power systems, the pursuit of lightweight devices is gradually gaining importance despite the urgent need for device miniaturization. To reduce the mass of dielectric energy storage materials, certain light metal elements, such as potassium (K) and sodium (Na), offer promising prospects for achieving low material density. However, the intrinsic formation of point defects, including alkali metal vacancies and oxygen vacancies (Schottky defects), is inevitable during high-temperature sintering because of the volatilization of alkali metal oxides. These defects can lead to high conductivity under high electric fields, thereby deteriorating energy storage performance (ESP). In this work, we focus on a potassium-rich composition, K2La0.75Gd0.25Nb5O15, which is characterized by a tetragonal tungsten bronze (TTB) structure, to investigate the impact of volatile point defects. Different types of defects were designed by changing the K2O content, and energy storage properties were investigated. Based on leakage current measurements, impedance spectra, and DFT calculation results, it could be concluded that K–O defects with a shallow energy level cause conduction loss, thereby influencing polarization and ESP. Consequently, a high recoverable energy storage density (Wrec) of 5.02 J cm−3 and an energy efficiency of 85.6% were simultaneously achieved for the composition with the lowest defect content. This work reveals a mechanism in which volatile defects dominate conduction behavior and relevant ESP, stresses the significance of suppressing alkaline Schottky defects, and provides a feasible solution to developing lightweight dielectric energy storage materials. Subjected to mechanical stimuli, a piezo-induced built-in electric field is favorable for promoting the catalytic performance of piezo-photocatalysts via effectively separating the excitons. However, the exact correlation between the electronic structure and catalytic properties of piezo-photocatalysts is still ambiguous. Conjugated microporous polymers (CMPs) with delocalized π-conjugation bonds are a unique class of photocatalytic materials, which exhibit intramolecular transport channels for electron transfer and could be further enhanced by a built-in electric field during photocatalysis. Herein, novel piezo-photocatalytic electrospun hybrid fiber films were prepared, which endow piezoelectric poly(vinylidene fluoride-co-trifluoroethylene) (PVDF–TrFE) with the high photocatalytic activity of a pyridine-based CMP (PCMP). The compatibility of these two components was enhanced via silane modification of the PCMP (m-PCMP). Hybrids of m-PCMP 50 wt%/PVDF–TrFE showed an excellent photo-degradation efficiency (97%) towards rhodamine B (RhB) with a high pseudo-first-order kinetic constant (k) of 0.0289 min−1 which is comparable to that of the neat m-PCMP (0.0304 min−1) and nearly 15 times higher compared to that of pure PVDF–TrFE (0.0019 min−1). The excellent catalytic performance was attributed to the synergetic effect, where the addition of the m-PCMP enhanced the piezo-response of PVDF–TrFE, and the piezo-potential of PVDF–TrFE regulated the energy band of m-PCMP, favoring the redox reactions to generate reactive oxygen species (ROS) for degrading RhB. Background: Human urine-derived stem cells (USCs)-derived exosomes (USC-Exo) could improve kidney ischemia/reperfusion injury (IRI), while the underlying mechanisms of this protective effect remain unclear. Methods: Human USCs and USC-Exo were isolated and verified by morphology and specific biomarkers. The effects of USC-Exo on ferroptosis and kidney injury were detected in the IRI-induced acute kidney injury (AKI) model in C57BL/6 mice. The effects of USC-Exo on ferroptosis and lncRNA taurine-upregulated gene 1 (TUG1) were detected in hypoxia/reoxygenation (H/R)-treated human proximal tubular epithelial cells (HK-2). The interaction of SRSF1 and TUG1, ACSL4 was checked via RNA pull-down/RIP and RNA stability assays. The effects of LncRNA TUG1 on SRSF1/ACSL4-mediated ferroptosis were verified in H/R-treated HK-2 cells and the IRI-induced AKI mouse models. Results: USC-Exo treatment improved kidney injury and ameliorated ferroptosis in IRI-induced AKI mouse models. USC-Exo were rich in lncRNA TUG1, which suppressed ferroptosis in HK-2 cells exposed to H/R. Mechanistically, lncRNA TUG1 regulates the stability of ACSL4 mRNA by interacting with RNA-binding protein SRSF1. In addition, SRSF1 upregulation or ACSL4 downregulation partially reversed the protective effect of lncRNA TUG1 on ferroptosis in H/R-treated HK-2 cells. Further, ACSL4 upregulation partially reversed TUG1's repression on kidney injury and ferroptosis in IRI-induced AKI mice. Conclusion: Collectively, lncRNA TUG1 carried by USC-Exo regulated ASCL4-mediated ferroptosis by interacting with SRSF1 and then protected IRI-induced AKI. Background. MSC-derived extracellular vehicles (EVs) exhibit a protective functional role in renal ischemia/reperfusion injury (RIRI). Recent studies have revealed that mitophagy could be a potential target process in the treatment of RIRI. However, whether MSC-derived EVs are involved in the regulation of mitophagy in RIRI remains largely unknown to date. Methods. RIRI model was established in vivo in mice by subjecting them to renal ischemia/reperfusion. TCMK-1 cells were subjected to hypoxia/reoxygenation (H/R) stimulation to mimic RIRI in vitro. BMSCs and BMSC-derived EVs were isolated and identified. Renal injury was assessed using H&E staining. The qPCR and western blot analyses were conducted to detect the mRNA and protein levels. Apoptosis was evaluated using the TUNEL assay and flow cytometry analysis. The EVs, autophagosomes, and mitochondria were observed using TEM. The colocalization of autophagosomes with mitochondria was confirmed through the confocal assay. The direct binding of miR-223-3p to NLRP3 was validated through the dual-luciferase assay. Results. BMSCs and BMSC-derived EVs were successfully isolated from mice and identified. The protective effect of BMSC-derived EVs against RIRI was validated both in vitro and in vivo, which was indicated by a decrease in apoptosis and inflammasome activation and an increase in mitophagy. However, this protective effect was impaired in the miR-223-3p-depleted EVs, suggesting that miR-223-3p mediated this protective effect. Further mechanistic investigation revealed that miR-223-3p suppressed inflammasome activation to enhance mitophagy by directly targeting NLRP3. Conclusion. In conclusion, the protective role of BMSC-derived EVs and exosome-delivered miR-223-3p in RIRI was validated. Introduction: Clear cell renal cell carcinoma (ccRCC) is a malignant tumor characterized by poor prognosis and difficult treatment. Ferroptosis is a relatively new form of programmed cell death that involved in cancer development and therapy resistance. Studies have shown that targeted ferroptosis may be a novel option for the treatment of ccRCC, but key genes and their roles between ferroptosis and ccRCC are limited so far. This study aims to develop a ccRCC stratified model based on ferroptosis-related genes to provide a reference for the prognosis prediction and the individualized treatment of ccRCC. Materials and Methods: The mRNAs expression data of ccRCC and FRGs were obtained from TCGA and FerrDb database, respectively. Through multiple analysis, a 4-FRG based prognostic stratified model was constructed and its predictive performance was validated through various methods. Then, a nomogram based on the model was constructed and ccRCC patients stratified by the model were analyzed for tumor microenvironment, immune infiltration, sensitivity for immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs)/traditional anti-tumor therapy and tumor mutation burden (TMB). Functional enrichment analysis was performed to explore potential biological pathways. Finally, we verified our model by RT-qPCR, siRNA transfection, scratch assay and CCK-8 assay. Results: In this study, the stratified model and a model-based nomogram can accurately predict the prognosis of ccRCC patients in TCGA database. The patients stratified by the model showed different tumor microenvironments, immune infiltration, TMB, resistance to traditional and ICIs therapy, and sensitivity to ferroptosis. Functional enrichment analysis suggested several biological pathways related to the process and prognosis of ccRCC. RT-qPCR confirmed the differential expression of ferroptosis-related genes. Scratch assay and CCK-8 assay indicated the promotion effects of CD44 on the proliferation and migration of ccRCC. Conclusion: In this study, we established a novel ccRCC stratified model based on FRGs, which can accurately predict the prognosis of ccRCC patients and provide a reference for clinical individualized treatment. Kidney transplantation is the best therapy for end‐stage renal disease. Demand for kidney transplantation rises year‐on‐year, and the gap between kidney supply and demand remains large. To meet this clinical need, a gradual expansion in the supply of donors is required. However, clinics lack appropriate tools capable of quickly and accurately predicting post‐transplant renal allograft function, and thus assess donor‐kidney quality before transplantation. Mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) is a key component of damage‐associated molecular patterns (DAMPs) and plays an important part in ischemia‐reperfusion injury (IRI), accelerating the progression of IRI by inducing inflammation and type I interferon responses. mtDNA is known to be closely involved in delayed graft function (DGF) and acute kidney injury (AKI) after transplantation. Thus, mtDNA is a potential biomarker able to predict post‐transplant renal allograft function. This review summarizes mtDNA biology, the role mtDNA plays in renal transplantation, outlines advances in detecting mtDNA, and details mtDNA's able to predict post‐transplant renal allograft function. Clear cell renal cell carcinoma (ccRCC) is one of the most prevalent renal malignant cancer, whose survival rate and quality of life of patients are still not satisfactory. Nevertheless, the TNM staging system currently used in clinical cannot make accurate survival predictions and precise treatment decisions for ccRCC patients. Therefore, there is an urgent need for more reliable biomarkers to identify high-risk subgroups of ccRCC patients to guide timely intervention and treatment. Recently, MiRNAs have been shown to be closely related to the procession of a variety of tumors, and they have high stability in various tissues, which makes them suggested to have the potential as a prognostic biomarker of ccRCC. In this study, by analyzing and processing the miRNAs expression profile of ccRCC patients from the TCGA database, we finally constructed an excellent miRNAs signature and verified it through a variety of methods. In order to build a more accurate and reliable clinical predictive model, we integrated the miRNAs signature with other prognostic-related clinical parameters to construct a nomogram. Functional enrichment analysis showed that miRNAs in the signature may regulate the genes involved in the Hippo signaling pathway, Tight junction, and Wnt signaling pathway to cause different prognoses of ccRCC patients, which may provide a reference for subsequent basic research and targeted therapy. To conclude, our study constructed a useful miRNAs signature, which allows the prognosis stratification for ccRCC patients and thereby guides the timely and effective interventions on high-risk patients. Herein, we report an intra‐crystalline electron lever strategy, which can regulate the electron density of reaction centre atoms via manipulating ambient lattice states, for Fenton activity improvement. Typically, with the assistance of ultrasound, the Mn4+−O−Fe3+ bond in BiFe0.97Mn0.03O3 perovskite nanocrystals can drive valence electrons and free electrons to accumulate on Fe atoms by a polarization electric field originated from the designed lattice strain. The increase of electron density significantly improves the catalytic activity of Fe, decreasing the activation energy of BiFe0.97Mn0.03O3‐mediated Fenton reaction by 52.55 %, and increasing the.OH yield by 9.21‐fold. Aurivillius phase Ca2Bi4Ti5O18 powders with micrometer size were produced by solid‐state reaction. X‐ray diffraction revealed that the powders had polar orthorhombic structure with space group of B2cb. Ca2Bi4Ti5O18 ceramic exhibited frequency independent dielectric anomaly at 774°C. The piezoelectric coefficient d33 value of poled Ca2Bi4Ti5O18 pellets was 0.7 ± 0.2 pC/N. Both frequency independent dielectric anomaly and detectable d33 value clearly indicated that Ca2Bi4Ti5O18 is a ferroelectric material with Curie point of 774 ℃. UV–vis absorption spectra revealed that Ca2Bi4Ti5O18 had a direct band gap of 3.2 eV. Photocatalytic activity of the Ca2Bi4Ti5O18 powders was examined by degradation of rhodamine B (RhB) under simulated solar light. 16% of RhB solution was degraded by Ca2Bi4Ti5O18 powders after 4 hours UV‐vis irradiation. With Ag nanoparticles deposited on the Ca2Bi4Ti5O18 powders surface, 50% of RhB was degraded under the same irradiation condition. The fitted degradation rate constant of Ag decorated Ca2Bi4Ti5O18 was 4 times higher than that of bare Ca2Bi4Ti5O18. Poly(vinylidene fluoride) (PVDF) and PVDF-based copolymers with trifluoroethylene (PVDF-TrFE) have attracted considerable academic and industrial interest due to their ferroelectric properties, which are only present in very few polymers. However, the underlying fundamentals of molecular ordering and induced polarizations are complex and not fully understood. Herein, PVDF, PVDF-TrFE and their blends, prepared using melt extrusion and hot pressing, have been selected to obtain controlled case studies with well-defined chain ordering and microstructures. Impedance analysis and terahertz time-domain spectroscopy (THz-TDS) are exploited to investigate electric polarization in PVDF-based polymers at different length scales. The extruded ferroelectric films show in-plane chain orientation and higher domain wall density compared to hot pressed films with randomly-distributed polymer chains, which favors the polarization at low frequencies (Hz to MHz), as concluded from the higher dielectric constants and more prominent high electric field polarization switching features. Electric‐field‐induced phase transitions in Bi0.5Na0.5TiO3‐based relaxor ferroelectrics are essential to the control of their electrical properties and consequently in revolutionizing their dielectric and piezoelectric applications. However, fundamental understanding of these transitions is a long‐standing challenge due to their complex crystal structures. Given the structural inhomogeneity at the nanoscale or sub‐nanoscale in these materials, dielectric response characterization based on terahertz (THz) electromagnetic‐probe beam fields is intrinsically coordinated to lattice dynamics during DC‐biased poling cycles. The complex permittivity reveals the field‐induced phase transitions to be irreversible. This profoundly counters the claim of reversibility, the conventional support for which is based upon the peak that is manifest in each of four quadrants of the current–field curves. The mechanism of this irreversibility is solely attributed to polar clusters in the transformed lattices. These represent an extrinsic factor, which is quiescent in the THz spectral domain. Lead‐free Aurivillius phase BaBi2Nb2O9 powders were prepared by solid‐state reaction. Ferroelectric measurements on BaBi2Nb2O9 (BBNO) ceramics at room temperature provided supporting evidence for the existence of polar nanoregions (PNRs) and their reversible response to an external electric field, indicating relaxor behavior. The photocatalytic degradation of Rhodamine B reached 12% after 3 hours irradiation of BBNO powders under simulated solar light. Silver (Ag) nanoparticles were photochemically deposited onto the surface of the BBNO powders and found to act as electron traps, facilitating the separation of photoexcited charge carriers; thus, the photocatalytic performance was significantly improved. Clear cell renal cell carcinoma (ccRCC) is a common malignant tumor of the urinary system characterized by poor prognosis and difficult treatment. It has been reported that iron metabolism dysregulation is a common phenomenon in ccRCC and is closely related to the process of ccRCC. But still now, the exact function and underlying mechanisms of iron metabolism dysregulation in ccRCC have not been fully elucidated. In this study, we comprehensively investigated the prognostic value and potential role of STEAP3 (an iron metabolism-related gene) in ccRCC. STEAP3 is significantly up-regulated in ccRCC. High STEAP3 expression is associated with gender, hemoglobin level, pathological grade, tumor stage and significantly predicts an unfavorable prognosis of ccRCC patients. Functional enrichment analysis and evaluation of the tumor microenvironment indicated that STEAP3 was involved in the remodeling of tumor extracellular matrix and the shaping of an immune-suppressive tumor microenvironment to promote tumor metastasis and evade immune killing. Besides, the expression of STEAP3 is also associated with the expression of various immune checkpoint molecules and the IC50 of targeted drugs. Finally, we verified STEAP3 by RT-qPCR and IHC staining. In conclusion, we found that STEAP3 can serve as a candidate prognostic biomarker for ccRCC, and targeting STEAP3 and its biological processes may provide new references for the individualized treatment of ccRCC. Poly(vinylidene fluoride)-based dielectric materials are prospective candidates for high power density electric storage applications because of their ferroelectric nature, high dielectric breakdown strength and superior processability. However, obtaining a polar phase with relaxor-like behavior in poly(vinylidene fluoride), as required for high energy storage density, is a major challenge. To date, this has been achieved using complex and expensive synthesis of copolymers and terpolymers or via irradiation with high-energy electron-beam or γ-ray radiations. Herein, a facile process of pressing-and-folding is proposed to produce β-poly(vinylidene fluoride) (β-phase content: ~98%) with relaxor-like behavior observed in poly(vinylidene fluoride) with high molecular weight > 534 kg mol−1, without the need of any hazardous gases, solvents, electrical or chemical treatments. An ultra-high energy density (35 J cm−3) with a high efficiency (74%) is achieved in a pressed-and-folded poly(vinylidene fluoride) (670-700 kg mol−1), which is higher than that of other reported polymer-based dielectric capacitors to the best of our knowledge. Dielectric materials are candidates for electric high power density energy storage applications, but fabrication is challenging. Non-reciprocal devices such as isolators and circulators, based mainly on ferromagnetic materials, require extremely low dielectric loss in order for strict power-link budgets to be met for millimetre (mm)-wave and terahertz (THz) systems. The dielectric loss of commercial SrFe12O19 hexaferrite was significantly reduced to below 0.002 in the 75–170 GHz band by thermal annealing. While the overall concentration of Fe2+ and oxygen vacancy defects is relatively low in the solid, their concentration at the surface is significantly higher, allowing for a surface sensitive technique such as XPS to monitor the Fe3+/Fe2+ redox reaction. Oxidation of Fe2+ and a decrease in oxygen vacancies are found at the surface on annealing, which are reflected in the bulk sample by a small change in the unit cell volume. The significant decrease in the dielectric loss property can be attributed to the decreased concentration of charged defects such as Fe2+ and oxygen vacancies through the annealing process, which demonstrated that thermal annealing could be effective in improving the dielectric performance of ferromagnetic materials for various applications.
