The article focuses on the radio waves emitted by the Sun. Radio astronomers interpret the radio waves to get information about the Sun's activities. The discovery of radio bursts from the Sun was made accidentally. During the air battles of World War II, radar operators noticed an unusual form of interference which intermittently jammed reception in the daytime. Radio astronomers recorded the radio emissions from the Sun and discovered that different radio frequencies have different penetrating power into the corona.
