While survey research has expanded rapidly in recent times, little scholarly work has examined interviewer misbehaviour. Inspired by audit principles, this paper aims to identify themes of misbehaviours associated with interviewing. Using thematic analysis, it provides exploratory insights into misbehaviours vis-à-vis audit reports prepared by auditors through their observations of interviewers administering face-to-face surveys. 398 audit reports were reviewed and scrutinised for depictions of misbehaviour, and a total of eight themes were derived. These themes were then aggregated into three domains: issues with asking questions (78%), issues with probing answers (16%), and issues with conduct (5%). Analysis of the themes reveals behavioural patterns that point to actionable areas that researchers and market research agencies can adopt to curb misbehaviour. Aflatoxin B1 (AFB1), a mycotoxin commonly found in foodstuffs, poses significant health risks when ingested through contaminated food sources. Therefore, it is imperative to devise a safe and efficient method for AFB1 degradation. Graphitic carbon nitride (g-C3N4) stands out as an exceptionally stable, non-toxic, and economical photocatalyst, which is widely used in photocatalysis. In this study, we explored the photocatalytic performance of four g-C3N4 catalysts derived from different precursors (dicyandiamide (D-CN), melamine (M-CN), thiourea (T-CN), and urea (U-CN)) in AFB1 degradation under visible light. Notably, the U-CN catalyst displayed an impressive degradation rate of 93.5% for AFB1 within 30 min, outperforming M-CN (82.5%), T-CN (78.5%), and D-CN (46.2%). This superior performance is attributed to its inherent porous structure, enlarged specific surface area, and reduced electron–hole pairs' recombination rate. Additionally, our investigation identified ˙O2− as the primary active species in AFB1 degradation. Furthermore, we explored the degradation pathway of AFB1 and its associated inactivation mechanism mediated by the U-CN catalyst. Background: Stress influences examination performance among Sri Lankan students. Validated tests are required to evaluate stress levels among elementary students in Sri Lanka. Therefore, the Perceived Stress Questionnaire 8-11 (PSQ8- 11) was translated into a Sinhala version. The aim of this study was to examine the psychometric properties of the translated and adapted scale among elementary level school children in Sri Lanka and examine invariance across male and female children. Methods: The participants were 1021 students from seven schools. After removing missing values, responses from 693 students (mean age = 9.65 ± 0.478 years, 51.8% male) were analysed for participant characteristics. Cronbach's alpha, Spearman's correlation, and confirmatory factor analysis with measurement invariance models were conducted after adding one item to the original PSQ8-11 version. Results: The Cronbach's alpha value for the 20-item modified PSQ8-11 Sinhala version was.788. The two subscales, psychological stress (Cronbach's alpha = 0.615) and physiological stress (Cronbach's alpha = 0.711), indicated a satisfactory level of internal consistency. Furthermore, a statistically significant correlation (p < 0.01; 2-tailed) was reported among each of the subscales. Confirmatory factor analyses demonstrated a satisfactory goodness-of-fit across the two models by confirming the theoretical constructs of the PSQ8-11 translated version with its two subscales. The two-factor model has better model fit indices compared to the unidimensional model (χ²/df = 1.447, CFI = 0.947, TLI = 0.938, WRMR = 0.028, RMSEA = 0.026, SRMSR = 0.0341, and PCLOSE = 1 of the two-factor model). Measurement variance across gender was supported by the establishment of configural and metric invariances. Objectives: To retrospectively assess the periodontal conditions of teeth adjacent to and contralateral to implants presenting with or without peri‐implantitis, following non‐surgical periodontal and peri‐implant mechanical therapy. Materials and Methods: One hundred and one patients with existing dental implants and chronic periodontitis, who underwent non‐surgical periodontal and peri‐implant mechanical therapy, were included. The periodontal clinical probing depth (PPD), gingival recession (GR), and bleeding on probing (BOP) were recorded at six sites around the adjacent (Adj‐) teeth and the contralateral (CL‐) teeth relative to the implant. The potential factors influencing the periodontal conditions of 316 teeth were analyzed by multivariate linear regression models with generalized estimating equation methods and α =.05. Results: The PPD of Adj‐teeth was significantly different from that of CL‐teeth before and after non‐surgical therapy when the implant was diagnosed with peri‐implantitis (PI) (p <.05). The PPD of teeth was shown to be affected by neighboring implants diagnosed with peri‐implantitis (β =.825 mm, p <.001), teeth adjacent to implants (β =.245 mm, p =.004), a molar tooth type (β =.435 mm, p =.019), and non‐surgical therapy (β = −.522 mm, p <.001). Conclusions: Relatively compromised periodontal conditions at Adj‐teeth after non‐surgical PI therapy were detected. Given the increasing importance of cascading trip prevention, this study presents the pumped storage characteristics to cooperate with thermal units and further ensure the safety of grid operation. The proposed model comprises two phases: the first phase is the day-ahead decision-making phase, which synergistically optimizes thermal units and pumped storage to improve the flexibility of grid operation; the second phase is the intra-day adjustment phase considering the uncertainty of the wind-photovoltaic and transmission line failure outage to enhance the robustness. Furthermore, this model employs a column and constraint generation algorithm to solve the two-phase, three-layer optimization problem, thereby minimizing the adjustment cost under the riskiest scenarios. The experimental results show that adding pumped storage reduces the total system operating cost by 3.99%, the renewable energy abandonment rate to 0.65%, and the thermal power unit output standard deviation to 74.13 MW. Background and Purpose: Thromboxane A2 (TXA2) is a prostanoid produced during platelet activaton, important in enhancing platelet reactivity by activation of TP receptors. However, due to the short half‐life, studying TXA2 signalling is challenging. To enhance our understanding of TP receptor‐mediated platelet biology, we therefore synthesised mono and difluorinated TXA2 analogues and explored their pharmacology on heterologous and endogenously expressed TP receptor function. Experimental Approach: Platelet functional and signalling responses were studied using aggregometry, Ca2+ mobilisation experiments and immunoblotting and compared with an analogue of the TXA2 precursor prostaglandin H2, U46619. Gαq/Gαs receptor signalling was determined using a bioluminescence resonance energy transfer (BRET) assay in a cell line overexpression system. Key Results: BRET studies revealed that F‐TXA2 and F2‐TXA2 promoted receptor‐stimulated TP receptor G‐protein activation similarly to U46619. Unexpectedly, F2‐TXA2 caused reversible aggregation in platelets, whereas F‐TXA2 and U46619 induced sustained aggregation. Blocking the IP receptor switched F2‐TXA2‐mediated reversible aggregation into sustained aggregation. Further BRET studies confirmed F2‐TXA2‐mediated IP receptor activation. F2‐TXA2 rapidly and potently stimulated platelet TP receptor‐mediated protein kinase C/P‐pleckstrin, whereas IP‐mediated protein kinase A/P‐vasodilator‐stimulated phosphoprotein was more delayed. Conclusion and Implications: F‐TXA2 is a close analogue to TXA2 used as a selective tool for TP receptor platelet activation. In contrast, F2‐TXA2 acts on both TP and IP receptors differently over time, resulting in an initial wave of TP receptor‐mediated platelet aggregation followed by IP receptor‐induced reversibility of aggregation. Objectives: Considering the importance of mental health help-seeking, researchers have closely examined the relationship between mental health literacy (MHL) and help-seeking intention (HSI). Furthermore, the high impact of stigma and the potential value of social support on HSI have been recognised. However, the relationship between these variables has not been fully tested within the context of Chinese elite athletes. This study addressed this gap by examining the relationship between MHL and HSI. Furthermore, it explored the mediating effects of public stigma, self-stigma, and social support on the relationship between MHL and HSI among Chinese elite athletes. Methods: 450 Chinese elite athletes (Mage = 18.12, SD = 3.20, 46.2% female) selfreported their MHL, public stigma, self-stigma, social support, and HSI. Mediation analysis was conducted using the bootstrap approach of the PROCESS macro version 3.3 of SPSS 25. Results: The results showed a significant positive correlation between MHL and HSI (r = 0.348). The results also demonstrated that MHL was a predictor of HSI (ß = 0.337, 95%CI [0.249, 0.425], p < 0.001). Furthermore, 1) the indirect effect of MHL public stigma HSI was 0.024 and a 95%CI [0.003, 0.053]. Specifically, MHL predicted public stigma (Estimate = -0.151, 95%CI [-0.187, -0.045], p < 0.001), and public stigma predicted HSI (Estimate = -0.161, 95%CI [- 0.549, -0.164], p < 0.001); 2) the indirect effect of MHL→self-stigma→HSI was 0.016 and 95%CI [0.002, 0.038]. Specifically, MHL predicted self-stigma (Estimate = -0.137, 95%CI [-0.069, -0.013], p < 0.01), and self-stigma predicted HSI (Estimate = -0.120, 95%CI [-1.181, -0.186], p < 0.01); as well as 3) the indirect effect of MHL social support HSI was 0.029 and a 95%CI [0.009, 0.055]. Specifically, MHL predicted social support (Estimate = 0.208, 95%CI [0.018, 0.047], p < 0.001), and social support predicted HSI (Estimate = 0.141, 95%CI [0.578, 2.442], p < 0.01). Additionally, the direct effects from MHL to HSI is (ß = 0.452, 95%CI [0.304, 0.600], p < 0.001). Conclusion: Our findings provide empirical support for the roles of public stigma, self-stigma, and social support as mechanisms of behavioural change in MHL interventions. We performed a systematic review and meta-analysis on sodium benzoate's effects on cognitive function and other psychiatric symptoms in individuals with neuropsychiatric disorders. We searched PubMed, Embase, Cochrane Library, and PsychInfo databases until September 2023. A random-effects meta-analysis was performed within a frequentist framework. To investigate the potential sources of heterogeneity, we performed subgroup analyses based on sex, dose, diagnosis, and risk of bias of the included studies. Trial sequential analyses were performed to investigate the statistical power of the synthesized studies. The certainty in evidence was evaluated using the Grading of Recommendations Assessment, Development and Evaluation approach. A total of 10 studies were included in the analysis. Sodium benzoate demonstrated a small-to-moderate positive effect on global cognitive function compared with placebo (standardized mean difference 0.40, 95% confidence interval 0.20 to 0.60, high certainty). Subgroup analyses suggested more pronounced effects in women; individuals receiving doses >500 mg/day; and individuals with early-phase Alzheimer's disease, chronic schizophrenia, or major depressive disorder. Sodium benzoate also demonstrated potential efficacy in enhancing the speed of processing, working memory, verbal learning and memory, visual learning and memory, and reasoning and problem solving. Furthermore, sodium benzoate was effective for positive psychotic symptoms but not for negative psychotic and depressive symptoms with moderate certainty. The current evidence strongly supports the positive effects of sodium benzoate on cognitive function in neuropsychiatric disorders. Parkinson's disease (PD) is typically a sporadic late-onset disorder, which has made it difficult to model in mice. Several transgenic mouse models bearing mutations in SNCA, which encodes alpha-Synuclein (a-Syn), have been made, but these lines do not express SNCA in a physiologically accurate spatiotemporal pattern, which limits the ability of the mice to recapitulate the features of human PD. Here, we generated knock-in mice bearing the G51D SNCA mutation. After establishing that their motor symptoms begin at 9 mo of age, we then sought earlier pathologies. We assessed the phosphorylation at Serine 129 of a-Syn in different tissues and detected phospho-a-Syn in the olfactory bulb and enteric nervous system at 3 mo of age. Olfactory deficit and impaired gut transit followed at 6 mo, preceding motor symptoms. The SncaG51D mice thus parallel the progression of human PD and will enable us to study PD pathogenesis and test future therapies. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Acute mesenteric ischaemia (AMI) is a life-threatening gastrointestinal complication uncommonly described in premature infants. The diagnosis of AMI is challenging and may be delayed due to the limitation of accurate diagnostic imaging and non-specific clinical signs. Furthermore, AMI can be misdiagnosed as necrotising enterocolitis (NEC) due to the overlapping clinical and radiological features. Though known to be associated with high mortality rates, early recognition and intervention can improve the survival rates in infants with AMI. We describe a case of a premature infant who presented with an acute abdomen and haemodynamic collapse, initially treated for NEC but later diagnosed with AMI intraoperatively. Phenotypical innovations during evolution are caused by novel mutations, which are usually heterozygous at the beginning. The gene expressions on two alleles of these mutation sites are not necessarily identical, leading to flexible allele-specific regulation in cell systems. We retrieve the transcriptome data of normal and non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) tissues from 47 African Americans (AA) and 50 European Americans (EA). We analyze the differentially expressed genes (DEGs) in NSCLC as well as the tumor-specific mutations. Expression and mutation profiles show convergent evolution in AA and EA populations. The tumor-specific mutations are poorly overlapped, but many of them are located in the same genes, mainly oncogenes and tumor suppressor genes. The DEGs in tumors are majorly caused by the mutated alleles rather than normal alleles. The relative expressions of mutated alleles are highly correlated between AA and EA. The differential expression in NSCLC is predominantly mediated by the mutated alleles on heterozygous sites. This molecular mechanism underlying NSCLC oncogenesis is conserved across different human populations, exhibiting convergent evolution. Introduction: The quality of traditional Chinese medicine is based on the content of their secondary metabolites, which vary with habitat adaptation and ecological factors. This study focuses on Lonicera japonica Flos (LJF), a key traditional herbal medicine, and aims to evaluate how ecological factors impact its quality. Methods: We developed a new evaluation method combining high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) fingerprinting technology and MaxEnt models to assess the effects of ecological factors on LJF quality. The MaxEnt model was used to predict suitable habitats for current and future scenarios, while HPLC was employed to analyze the contents of key compounds. We also used ArcGIS for spatial analysis to create a quality zoning map. Results: The analysis identified 21 common chromatographic peaks, with significant variations in the contents of Hyperoside, Rutin, Chlorogenic acid, Cynaroside, and Isochlorogenic acid A across different habitats. Key environmental variables influencing LJF distribution were identified, including temperature, precipitation, and elevation. The current suitable habitats primarily include regions south of the Yangtze River. Under future climate scenarios, suitable areas are expected to shift, with notable expansions in southern Gansu, southeastern Tibet, and southern Liaoning. The spatial distribution maps revealed that high-quality LJF is predominantly found in central and southern Hebei, northern Henan, central Shandong, central Sichuan, southern Guangdong, and Taiwan. Discussion: The study indicates that suitable growth areas can promote the accumulation of certain secondary metabolites in plants, as the accumulation of these metabolites varies. The results underscore the necessity of optimizing quality based on cultivation practices. The integration of HPLC fingerprinting technology and the MaxEnt model provides valuable insights for the conservation and cultivation of herbal resources, offering a new perspective on evaluating the impact of ecological factors on the quality of traditional Chinese medicines. The impacts of falling ice radiative effects (FIREs) on land‐atmosphere feedback processes were examined, with a focus on the fidelity of land surface properties and their variability as inferred by global climate models (GCMs). We conducted a pair of sensitivity experiments using the National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR) Community Earth System Model Version 1 (CESM1) in fully coupled modes with FIREs turned on and off. This allowed us to investigate the seasonal response of land surface properties to changes in radiation fluxes and land surface temperature (LST) associated with FIREs across global land areas. Our findings indicate that during boreal winter, excluding FIREs results in less surface downward longwave and net flux (∼5–15 Wm−2), leading to a colder land surface (∼2–4 K) and air temperatures (∼1–4 K) at mid‐ and high latitudes. Consequently, the surface frozen soil layer and snow cover persist through spring, delaying snowmelt and thawing until summer. This delay reduces liquid soil moisture, thereby suppressing vegetation productivity in subsequent seasons. Conversely, tropical regions, exhibit contrasting responses, with a warmer land surface (∼0.5 K) and warmer air temperatures (∼0.1–0.5 K) due to increased surface downward shortwave and net flux (∼2–10 Wm−2). This enhancement in radiation fosters increased vegetation productivity throughout the seasonal cycle. These findings illustrate a local response of land surface properties to changes in the surface energy balance and LST, highlighting the significant role that FIREs play in land surface modeling within GCMs. Plain Language Summary: We explored the seasonal response of land surface properties to changes in radiation fluxes and land surface temperature across global land areas using the CESM1‐CAM5 coupled model with falling ice radiative effects (FIREs) both turned on and off. Background: Focal cortical dysplasia (FCD) is the most common epileptogenic developmental malformation. The diagnosis of FCD is challenging. We generated a radiomics nomogram based on multiparametric magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) to diagnose FCD and identify laterality early. Methods: Forty-three patients treated between July 2017 and May 2022 with histopathologically confirmed FCD were retrospectively enrolled. The contralateral unaffected hemispheres were included as the control group. Therefore, 86 ROIs were finally included. Using January 2021 as the time cutoff, those admitted after January 2021 were included in the hold-out set (n = 20). The remaining patients were separated randomly (8:2 ratio) into training (n = 55) and validation (n = 11) sets. All preoperative and postoperative MR images, including T1-weighted (T1w), T2-weighted (T2w), fluid-attenuated inversion recovery (FLAIR), and combined (T1w + T2w + FLAIR) images, were included. The least absolute shrinkage and selection operator (LASSO) was used to select features. Multivariable logistic regression analysis was used to develop the diagnosis model. The performance of the radiomic nomogram was evaluated with an area under the curve (AUC), net reclassification improvement (NRI), integrated discrimination improvement (IDI), calibration and clinical utility. Results: The model-based radiomics features that were selected from combined sequences (T1w + T2w + FLAIR) had the highest performances in all models and showed better diagnostic performance than inexperienced radiologists in the training (AUCs: 0.847 VS. 0.664, p = 0.008), validation (AUC: 0.857 VS. 0.521, p = 0.155), and hold-out sets (AUCs: 0.828 VS. 0.571, p = 0.080). The positive values of NRI (0.402, 0.607, 0.424) and IDI (0.158, 0.264, 0.264) in the three sets indicated that the diagnostic performance of Model-Combined improved significantly. The radiomics nomogram fit well in calibration curves (p > 0.05), and decision curve analysis further confirmed the clinical usefulness of the nomogram. Additionally, the contrast (the radiomics feature) of the FCD lesions not only played a crucial role in the classifier but also had a significant correlation (r = -0.319, p < 0.05) with the duration of FCD. Using seven indicator traits, we investigated the genetic basis of bull fertility and predicted gene interactions from SNP associations. We used percent normal sperm as the key phenotype for the association weight matrix–partial correlation information theory (AWM‐PCIT) approach. Beyond a simple list of candidate genes, AWM‐PCIT predicts significant gene interactions and associations for the selected traits. These interactions formed a network of 537 genes: 38 genes were transcription cofactors, and 41 genes were transcription factors. The network displayed two distinct clusters, one with 294 genes and another with 243 genes. The network is enriched in fertility‐associated pathways: steroid biosynthesis, p53 signalling, and the pentose phosphate pathway. Enrichment analysis also highlighted gene ontology terms associated with 'regulation of neurotransmitter secretion' and 'chromatin formation'. Our network recapitulates some genes previously implicated in another network built with lower‐density genotypes. Sequence‐level data also highlights additional candidate genes relevant to bull fertility, such as FOXO4, FOXP3, GATA1, CYP27B1, and EBP. A trio of regulatory genes—KDM5C, LRRK2, and PME—was deemed core to the network because of their overarching connections. This trio probably influences bull fertility through their interaction with genes, both known and unknown as to their role in male fertility. In this paper, a fiber laser marking machine was used to pretreat an Al plate, and then a Au nanoparticle (Au NP) solution was dripped on the surface of the pre-treated plate to study the effect of the laser pretreatment assisted-nanoparticle-enhanced laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy technique on the emission and stability of the AlO molecular bands (B2P+ - X2P, Dn = 0) in the Al plasma. The results showed that laser pretreatment significantly improved the emission and stability of the AlO molecular bands. This descriptive cross-sectional mixed methods study conducted in Singapore aimed to describe community-dwelling older adults' differences in physical activity (PA) based on perceived safety to exercise, barriers to PA, and preferred modes of PA during a pandemic. Out of 268 older adults, 25.4% felt unsafe to exercise during the pandemic. More participants who felt unsafe were aged 75 years and older (72.1% vs. 57.0%, p =.028) and lacked formal education (54.4% vs. 37.0%, p =.040). Barriers included difficulties exercising with masks, family concerns, and exercise center closures. Those who felt unsafe were significantly more likely to exercise at home and had significantly shorter duration of exercise and walks per week (2.72 vs. 4.50 hr, p =.002). Evaluating the impact of land‐use intensification on soil microbial communities is essential for recognizing the implications on microbiome stability and ecosystem function. The microbial biomass and enzyme activity in the topsoil have been found to decrease as a consequence of natural forest conversion; however, the impact of land‐use conversion on the microbes in subsoil remains largely unclear. Here, we examined the effect of primary forest conversion to plantations and cultivated lands on microbial communities at three sites with similar soil, climate, and landform. The forest conversion was set as the experimental treatment, and the primary forest as the control. A linear mixed‐effect model was applied to investigate the role of environmental parameters in shaping the soil microbial biomass and community determined by the phospholipid fatty acids analysis in both the topsoil (0–20 cm) and subsoil (20–40 cm). Compared to the primary forest, the total microbial biomass, β‐1,4‐N‐acetylglucosaminidase, leucine aminopeptidase, acid phosphatase activities, and labile organic C fraction contents in both topsoil and subsoil were reduced in cultivated lands. The ratios of gram‐positive bacteria to gram‐negative bacteria and arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi to saprotrophic fungi in subsoil decreased by 45%–53% and increased by 29%–151%, respectively, following the primary forest conversion to cultivated lands. The response ratio (the percentage of microbial and enzyme indicator response to the primary forest conversion) ranged from −80% to 140% depending on the soil depth, specific microbial group, and converted land‐use type. Microbial biomass and enzyme activity are primarily controlled by the labile organic C content and nutrients availability in both topsoil and subsoil. This study suggests that the primary forest conversion exerts an adverse effect on the microbial biomass, enzyme activity, and substrate availability in both topsoil and subsoil, highlighting the degradation of subsoil health in subtropical China. Background/Aims: Ineffective esophageal motility (IEM) is common in patients with gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) and can be associated with poor esophageal contraction reserve on multiple rapid swallows. Alterations in the esophageal microbiome have been reported in GERD, but the relationship to presence or absence of contraction reserve in IEM patients has not been evaluated. We aim to investigate whether contraction reserve influences esophageal microbiome alterations in patients with GERD and IEM. Methods: We prospectively enrolled GERD patients with normal endoscopy and evaluated esophageal motility and contraction reserve with multiple rapid swallows during high-resolution manometry. The esophageal mucosa was biopsied for DNA extraction and 16S ribosomal RNA gene V3-V4 (Illumina)/full-length (Pacbio) amplicon sequencing analysis. Results: Among the 56 recruited patients, 20 had normal motility (NM), 19 had IEM with contraction reserve (IEM-R), and 17 had IEM without contraction reserve (IEM-NR). Esophageal microbiome analysis showed a significant decrease in microbial richness in patients with IEM-NR when compared to NM. The beta diversity revealed different microbiome profiles between patients with NM or IEM-R and IEM-NR (P = 0.037). Several esophageal bacterial taxa were characteristic in patients with IEM-NR, including reduced Prevotella spp. and Veillonella dispar, and enriched Fusobacterium nucleatum. In a microbiome-based random forest model for predicting IEM-NR, an area under the receiver operating characteristic curve of 0.81 was yielded. Conclusions: In symptomatic GERD patients with normal endoscopic findings, the esophageal microbiome differs based on contraction reserve among IEM. Thermal barrier coatings (TBCs) applied in aero-engines tend to be attacked by molten calcia-magnesia-alumino-silicate (CMAS) at high operating temperatures. Yttria-stabilized zirconia (YSZ) coatings with quasi-columnar microstructure were fabricated by plasma spray physical vapor deposition (PS-PVD) technique. The chemical changes, microstructural transformation, mechanical properties and degradation mechanisms of the CMAS-interacted TBCs in the thermal cycling tests were investigated. Feathered YSZ grains were dissolved in the CMAS melts, and then the ZrO2 grains were reprecipitated with spherical shape, accompanying with phase transformation from tetragonal (t) to monoclinic (m). The thermal cycling tests reveal that the YSZ coating fails at the early stage due to the attack of CMAS. The fractures in intra-columns lead to partial spallation of the coatings. The failure of the coating occurs at the interfaces between thermally grown oxides (TGO) layer and YSZ topcoat; especially, the hardness and Young's modulus of the YSZ coatings increase intensively, as the coatings were infiltrated by the CMAS for a long time. Benzene is widely recognized as a potential carcinogen. Furthermore, the deficiency of specific nutrients may render individuals more vulnerable to cancer. For instance, β-cryptoxanthin, which possesses anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and anticancer properties, has been identified as one such nutrient. Elevated benzene levels and reduced β-cryptoxanthin levels are reportedly correlated with an augmented susceptibility to cancer. To date, whether these 2 substances are linked with one another in the above correlation is yet to be determined. This study included 1358 participants with data on the serum concentration of β-cryptoxanthin as well as benzene and its derivatives. The data were sourced from the 2003–2004 National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey, a cross-sectional survey of the noninstitutionalized US population. Headspace solid-phase microextraction with gas chromatography and mass spectrometry was used to measure serum benzene and its derivatives, while high-performance liquid chromatography using multiwavelength photodiode-array absorbance detection was employed to quantify serum β-cryptoxanthin. In this study, male and female participants showed average β-cryptoxanthin levels of 9.10 ± 6.35 and 9.92 ± 8.95 ug/dL, respectively (p = 0.049). Styrene exhibited the strongest correlation with the change in β-cryptoxanthin concentration (β = −3.30, p for trend <0.001) upon comparing highest-quartile participants with those in the lowest quartile, followed by benzene (β = −2.95, p for trend <0.001), toluene (β = −2.90, p for trend <0.001), and ethylbenzene (β = −1.43, p for trend = 0.09). Subgroup analysis by sex displayed a statistically significant negative correlation of β-cryptoxanthin with benzene, styrene, and toluene in both the unadjusted and multivariate-adjusted models. The sera of noninstitutionalized US individuals exhibit a negative association of β-cryptoxanthin levels with benzene and its derivatives. The East Asian winter monsoon (EAWM) is an important climate pattern in Southeast Asia. This study delved into the aerosol effects on the EAWM by analysing simulations conducted with the Taiwan Earth System Model version 1 (TaiESM1) model, part of the Coupled Model Intercomparison Project Phase 6 (CMIP6). Our assessment, validated against observational and reanalysis data, revealed that TaiESM1 effectively replicates the robust circulation of the EAWM and aerosol concentrations, placing its performance above average level among CMIP6 models. Notably, the simulated global mean aerosol optical thickness exhibited an approximately 20% increase from 1850 to 2014. The increased aerosols corresponded to a weakened Aleutian Low and an intensified Siberian High, leading to a weakened EAWM in the lower atmosphere over extratropical areas. In addition, the cooling across the Northern Hemisphere might affect enhanced northerly winds at approximately 10°N, which are situated in the southern part of the EAWM. An analysis of the near‐surface temperature budget indicated that the aerosol‐induced cooling in East China and India was primarily driven by changes in shortwave and longwave radiation fluxes, albeit slightly offset by sensible heat and latent heat fluxes. Furthermore, our study also reveals that while the mechanisms through which anthropogenic aerosols affect the northern portion of the EAWM vary across most CMIP6 models, their impacts on the tropical region remain consistent. Finding efficient photocatalysts is the key to achieving sustainable hydrogen production. In this work, a rational design of Cd2+-doped Zn3In2S6 (ZIS) and a heterojunction structure with g-C3N4 (GCN) was carried out to form a GCN/Cd/ZIS composite. The synergistic effect of Cd2+ doping and heterojunction construction in the photocatalytic hydrogen production process was probed. The results showed that doping Cd2+ modified the bandgap structure of ZIS and improved the photocatalytic activity. The heterojunction construction between Cd/ZIS and GCN also effectively promoted the separation and migration of photogenerated carriers, which significantly improved the hydrogen production performance of the GCN/Cd/ZIS composite. The hydrogen production rate of 15% Cd/ZIS and 5% GCN/Cd/ZIS was 2.45 mmol g−1 h−1, 3.34 mmol g−1 h−1, which was 4.3 and 5.9 times higher than that of ZIS (0.57 mmol g−1 h−1), respectively. Homoserine dehydrogenase (HSD) is a key enzyme in the biosynthesis of aspartate-family amino acids such as L-homoserine and L-threonine. But HSD exhibited low activity and is feedback inhibited by L-threonine, which severely restricts the biosynthesis level of L-homoserine and L-threonine. In this study, eight HSDs from different species were mined through database search. Among of them, BdHSD derived from Brachypodium distachyon had the highest catalytic activity with 7. 6 U/ mg, and was not feedback-inhibited by L-threonine. The optimal catalytic pH of BdHSD was 10.5, and the optimal catalytic temperature was 38 °C . To improve the catalytic activity of BdHSD, this study further performed the directed evolution of BdHSD, and three BdHSD mutants T186A, N283K, and A137T/ I188V with higher catalytic activity were obtained through multiple rounds of screening. The enzyme activity of the mutant T186A reached 10.3 U/ mg, which was 35. 6% higher than that of the wild type. The L-homoserine fermentation analysis suggested that the BdHSD mutant could effectively enhance the synthesis level of L-homoserine. In summary, this study had mined and evolved the BdHSD with high efficient catalytic, which provided a powerful catalytic element for the efficient biosynthesis of L-homoserine, L-threonine, L-methionine, and other aspartate-family amino acids. This study assesses the viability of recycled plastic-based triboelectric nanogenerators (TENGs) for sustainable energy harvesting in India and Singapore, concurrently examining plastic waste management. Using material flow analysis and life cycle assessment, the findings revealed that in Singapore, waste-to-energy incineration has a lower environmental impact than landfilling and mechanical recycling, attributed to natural gas usage. In India, recycling offsets impacts from incineration and landfilling, contributing to a lower net environmental impact. Economic performance of a TENG module from PET recyclates showed a 20% carbon footprint reduction when scaling up from lab to industrial "freeze-drying" processes. Key challenges in TENG manufacturing processes are also assessed for future development. Background: Kawasaki disease (KD) is the most important acquired heart disease in children. This study investigated annual incidence, seasonality, secular trend and the correlation of KD incidence with viral activity in Taiwan. Methods: Through the national health insurance database, we identified KD during 2001–2020. The viral activity was obtained from nationwide surveillance database. We analyzed KD age-specific annual incidence, secular trends, seasonality and the correlation between KD incidence and common enteric or respiratory viral activity. Results: The KD incidence of subjects younger than 18 years significantly increased from 2001 to 2020 (11.78 and 22.40 per 100,000 person-years, respectively), and substantially decreased with age. Infants younger than 1 year presented the highest KD annual incidence at 105.82 to 164.34 per 100,000 person-years from 2001 to 2020. For all KD patients, the most frequently occurring season was summer followed by autumn. The KD incidence of infants younger than 1 year had significantly positive correlation with enteric (r = 0.14) and respiratory (r = 0.18) viral activity. Conclusions: This study demonstrates the increasing trend of KD annual incidence and seasonality (more in summer and autumn) in Taiwan. Objectives: This study aimed to examine the effectiveness of a specifically designed mindfulness-acceptance-insight-commitment (MAIC) training program on relevant psychological factors (i.e., mindfulness, acceptance, performance-related satisfaction) as well as sport training performance for elite adolescent athletes from Hong Kong. And it also aimed to explore the athletes' real experiences (i.e., receptiveness and perceptions) of completing the MAIC program. Methods and design: The mixed-method was used in this study, including a randomized controlled trial (RCT) and a qualitative exploration. The RCT employed a 2 (groups) x 3 (data collection points) design involving 40 elite adolescent athletes from the Hong Kong Sports Institute (HKSI). These athletes were randomly assigned to either the MAIC training group (MT; n = 20, Mage = 15.65) or the control group (CG; n = 20, Mage = 15.85) to further test the effectiveness of the MAIC intervention on mindfulness, acceptance, performance-related satisfaction, and sport training performance. Subsequent to the RCT, the qualitative exploration was used to explore the athletes' real experiences towards the MAIC program. In the qualitative exploration, all athletes who participated in the MAIC program were invited to participate in voluntary semi-structured interviews. Of these, 14 athletes chose to take part in the interviews. The RCT employed a 2×3 mixed-design ANOVA, while thematic analysis was applied to the qualitative exploration. Results: The results revealed that the MAIC training program significantly enhanced athletes' mindfulness, acceptance, satisfaction with performance, and sport training performance. However, these effects diminished at the follow-up assessment compared to post-training. Notably, the acceptance level of MT athletes did not significantly differ from CG athletes at the follow-up assessment. Additionally, the qualitative analysis identified four key dimensions: (a) Attitude towards MAIC training, (b) Reflection on the MAIC learning process, (c) Outcomes of MAIC training, and (d) Recommendations for future MAIC training. Overall, the qualitative findings complemented and reinforced the quantitative results, offering deeper insights into athletes' experiences and valuable suggestions for further enhancing the MAIC program. Conclusion: The findings suggested that the specifically designed MAIC training program in this study effectively enhanced sport training performance and various psychological factors among elite adolescent athletes from Hong Kong. The integration of 6G networks with emerging key technologies such as blockchain, artificial intelligence, and digital twins continues to improve. However, it carries many issues with security threats and challenges of 6G networks. In this article, we analyzed the security issues of 6G networks and presented some possible solutions. First, we discussed the developments of mobile communication technology, the research motivation of 6G networks, the comparison of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) between 5G/6G networks, and the key technologies of 6G networks. Next, security threats in the 6G network were analyzed concerning architecture, major visions and related applications. This was followed by solutions to security issues in applying key technologies for 6G networks. We also presented the application of AI in solving 6G network security problems. Firstly, we illustrated the impact of AI on 6G networks from two aspects: AI promotes the construction of 6G networks, and AI brings security threats to 6G networks. Yeast, which plays a pivotal role in the brewing, food, and medical industries, exhibits a close relationship with human beings. In this study, we isolated and purified 60 yeast strains from the natural fermentation broth of Sidamo coffee beans to screen for indigenous beneficial yeasts. Among them, 25 strains were obtained through morphological characterization on nutritional agar medium from Wallerstein Laboratory (WL), with molecular biology identifying Saccharomyces cerevisiae strain YBB-47 and the remaining 24 yeast strains identified as Pichia kudriavzevii. We investigated the fermentation performance, alcohol tolerance, SO2 tolerance, pH tolerance, sugar tolerance, temperature tolerance, ester production capacity, ethanol production capacity, H2S production capacity, and other brewing characteristics of YBB-33 and YBB-47. The results demonstrated that both strains could tolerate up to 3% alcohol by volume at a high sucrose mass concentration (400 g/L) under elevated temperature conditions (40 ℃), while also exhibiting a remarkable ability to withstand an SO2 mass concentration of 300 g/L at pH 3.2. Moreover, S. cerevisiae YBB-47 displayed a rapid gas production rate and strong ethanol productivity. whereas P. kudriavzevii YBB-33 exhibited excellent alcohol tolerance. Furthermore, this systematic classification and characterization of coffee bean yeast strains from the Sidamo region can potentially uncover additional yeasts that offer high-quality resources for industrial-scale coffee bean production. Ischemic stroke, a disease with high mortality and disability rate worldwide, currently has no effective treatment. The systemic inflammation response to the ischemic stroke, followed by immunosuppression in focal neurologic deficits and other inflammatory damage, reduces the circulating immune cell counts and multiorgan infectious complications such as intestinal and gut dysfunction dysbiosis. Evidence showed that microbiota dysbiosis plays a role in neuroinflammation and peripheral immune response after stroke, changing the lymphocyte populations. Multiple immune cells, including lymphocytes, engage in complex and dynamic immune responses in all stages of stroke and may be a pivotal moderator in the bidirectional immunomodulation between ischemic stroke and gut microbiota. This review discusses the role of lymphocytes and other immune cells, the immunological processes in the bidirectional immunomodulation between gut microbiota and ischemic stroke, and its potential as a therapeutic strategy for ischemic stroke. Neonatal adrenal haemorrhage (NAH) is more frequently described in neonates due to their relatively larger size and increased vascularity. While most are asymptomatic, they can present with anaemia, jaundice, abdominal mass, scrotal haematoma or more severe complications such as shock and adrenal insufficiency. Scrotal haematoma seen with NAH may be mistaken for other more serious conditions causing acute scrotum. Prompt sonographic examination that includes the bilateral adrenal glands may help to detect NAH early and to avoid unnecessary interventions. Cases of NAH causing ipsilateral inguinal ecchymosis and scrotal haematoma have been reported, but contralateral haematomas are very rare. In this report, we present a unique case of a neonate with an antenatally acquired adrenal haematoma complicated with an acute peripartum rebleeding manifesting as a contralateral scrotal haematoma and inguinal ecchymosis. Retropharyngeal infections (RPIs) are uncommon in young infants and are difficult to diagnose due to their non-classical presentation. RPI can occasionally be complicated with multiple cranial nerve palsies but rarely in isolation. Isolated hypoglossal nerve palsy (HNP) due to RPI has been described in the literature but mostly in older children and adults. Assessment for hypoglossal nerve function is challenging in a young infant because the conventional signs of hypoglossal nerve dysfunction are difficult to elicit in this age group. Early recognition and treatment of RPI are associated with good HNP recovery. We present a case of a young infant with tongue deviation and difficulty with feeding attributed to an isolated HNP caused by suppurative retropharyngeal lymphadenitis. A novel γ–γ′ (Ni solid solution—Ni3Al) NiPtAl coating was produced on advanced single-crystal (SC) superalloy N5 by electroplating of a thin Pt coating with ~ 3 μm in thickness followed by heat treatment at 1000 °C in vacuum. For comparison, a traditional γ–γ′ NiPtAl coating was also produced by electroplating of a thick Pt coating with ~ 6 μm in thickness followed by heat treatment at 1100 °C in vacuum. The novel coating has a mass gain of ~ 0.5 mg·cm−2 after 100 h 1-h cyclic oxidation at 1150 °C, showing better oxidation resistance than the traditional coating. An oxide scale mostly consisting of α-Al2O3 grew on the novel coating because the element Cr from the SC alloy substrate contributes to the formation of α-Al2O3. Pt content in the novel coating has significant effect on the oxidation resistance. The optimized Pt content in the coating is about 16 at%, which is helpful to reduce the diffusion of harmful elements from the substrate into the coating but also to reduce the cost of the coating. Offshore wind farms are becoming increasingly distant from onshore centralized control centers, and the communication delays between them inevitably introduce time delays in the measurement signal of the primary frequency control. This causes a deterioration in the performance of the primary frequency control and, in some cases, may even result in frequency instability within the power system. Therefore, a frequency response model that incorporates communication delays was established for power systems that integrate offshore wind power. The Padé approximation was used to model the time delays, and a linearized frequency response model of the power system was derived to investigate the frequency stability under different time delays. The influences of the wind power proportion and frequency control parameters on the system frequency stability were explored. In addition, a Smith delay compensation control strategy was devised to mitigate the effects of communication delays on the system frequency dynamics. Finally, a power system incorporating offshore wind power was constructed using the MATLAB/Simulink platform. Purpose: To compare the efficacy of transarterial chemoembolization (TACE) combined with tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs) plus immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) (TACE-TKI-ICI) versus TKIs plus ICIs (TKI-ICI) for unresectable hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) with first- or lower-order portal vein tumor thrombosis (PVTT). Materials and Methods: A retrospective study was performed in HCC patients with first- or lower-order PVTT receiving TKIs (Lenvatinib or sorafenib) plus ICIs (camrelizumab, sintilimab, or atezolizumab) with or without TACE from four institutions between January 2019 and January 2022. Propensity score–based method was performed to minimize bias by confounding factors. Tumor response, progression-free survival (PFS), overall survival (OS), and adverse events (AEs) were evaluated and compared between the two groups. Results: After inverse probability of treatment weighting, two balanced pseudopopulations were created: 106 patients in the TACE-TKI-ICI group and 109 patients in the TKI-ICI group. The objective response rate was higher in the TACE-TKI-ICI group (50.9% vs. 28.4%, P < 0.001). The median PFS and OS were significantly longer in the TACE-TKI-ICI group than in the TKI-ICI group (PFS: 9.1 vs. 5.0 months, P = 0.005; OS: 19.1 vs. 12.7 months, P = 0.002). In Cox regression, TACE-TKI-ICI treatment was an independent predictor of favorable OS. Treatment-related grade 3/4 AEs were comparable between the two groups (22.6% vs. 17.9%, P = 0.437). Background: This study compared the cost-effectiveness of open (ODP), laparoscopic (LDP), and robotic (RDP) distal pancreatectomy (DP). Methods: Studies reporting the costs of DP were included in a literature search until August 2023. Bayesian network meta-analysis was conducted, and surface under cumulative ranking area (SUCRA) values, mean difference (MD), odds ratio (OR), and 95% credible intervals (CrIs) were calculated for outcomes of interest. Cluster analysis was performed to examine the similarity and classification of DP approaches into homogeneous clusters. A decision model-based cost–utility analysis was conducted for the cost-effectiveness analysis of DP strategies. Results: Twenty-six studies with 29,164 patients were included in the analysis. Among the three groups, LDP had the lowest overall costs, while ODP had the highest overall costs (LDP vs. ODP: MD − 3521.36, 95% CrI − 6172.91 to − 1228.59). RDP had the highest procedural costs (ODP vs. RDP: MD − 4311.15, 95% CrI − 6005.40 to − 2599.16; LDP vs. RDP: MD − 3772.25, 95% CrI − 4989.50 to − 2535.16), but incurred the lowest hospitalization costs. Both LDP (MD − 3663.82, 95% CrI − 6906.52 to − 747.69) and RDP (MD − 6678.42, 95% CrI − 11,434.30 to − 2972.89) had significantly reduced hospitalization costs compared to ODP. LDP and RDP demonstrated a superior profile regarding costs–morbidity, costs–mortality, costs–efficacy, and costs–utility compared to ODP. Compared to ODP, LDP and RDP cost $3110 and $817 less per patient, resulting in 0.03 and 0.05 additional quality-adjusted life years (QALYs), respectively, with positive incremental net monetary benefit (NMB). RDP costs $2293 more than LDP with a negative incremental NMB but generates 0.02 additional QALYs with improved postoperative morbidity and spleen preservation. Probabilistic sensitivity analysis suggests that LDP and RDP are more cost-effective options compared to ODP at various willingness-to-pay thresholds. Establishing quantitative parameters for differentiating between healthy and diseased cartilage tissues by examining collagen fibril degradation patterns facilitates the understanding of tissue characteristics during disease progression. These findings could also complement existing clinical methods used to diagnose cartilage-related diseases. In this study, cartilage samples from normal, osteoarthritis (OA), and rheumatoid arthritis (RA) tissues were prepared and analyzed using polarization-resolved second harmonic generation (P-SHG) imaging and quantitative image texture analysis. The enhanced molecular contrast obtained from this approach is expected to aid in distinguishing between healthy and diseased cartilage tissues. P-SHG image analysis revealed distinct parameters in the cartilage samples, reflecting variations in collagen fibril arrangement and organization across different pathological states. Normal tissues exhibited distinct χ33/χ31 values compared with those of OA and RA, indicating collagen type transition and cartilage erosion with chondrocyte swelling, respectively. Compared with those of normal tissues, OA samples demonstrated a higher degree of linear polarization, suggesting increased tissue birefringence due to the deposition of type-I collagen in the extracellular matrix. The distribution of the planar orientation of collagen fibrils revealed a more directional orientation in the OA samples, associated with increased type-I collagen, while the RA samples exhibited a heterogeneous molecular orientation. This study revealed that the imaging technique, the quantitative analysis of the images, and the derived parameters presented in this study could be used as a reference for disease diagnostics, providing a clear understanding of collagen fibril degradation in cartilage. In the past, there were no easily distinct and recognizable features as a guide for precise clinical and genetic diagnosis of cases with chromosome microdeletions involving 15q26 including CHD2. The present study analysed the clinical data and collected venous blood samples from a pediatric patient and his healthy family members for DNA testing. The whole-exome sequencing was performed by the next-generation sequencing (NGS). Chromosomal copy-number variations were tested based on NGS. We present a review of all cases with chromosome microdeletions affecting CHD2. A novel de novo 5.82-Mb deletion at 15q25.3-15q26.1 including CHD2 was identified in our patient who is an 11.6-year-old boy. We first found surprising efficacy of lamotrigine in controlling intractable drop seizures in the individual. These cases have development delay, behavioural problems, epilepsy, variable multiple anomalies, etc. Phenotypes of individuals with deletions involving 15q26 including CHD2 are highly variable with regard to facial features and multiple developmental anomalies. We first found the special clinical entity of development delay, behavioural problems, epilepsy, variable skeletal and muscular anomalies, abnormalities of variable multiple systems and characteristic craniofacial phenotypes in patients with chromosome microdeletions involving CHD2. The larger deletions involving 15q26 including CHD2 tend to cause the classical phenotype. The pharmacodynamic substances in "Scrophulariae Radix-Fritillaria" and the molecular mechanisms underlying its therapeutic effects against goiter were analyzed through metabolomics and serum pharmaco-chemistry. A rat model of goiter was established using propylthiouracil (PTU), and the animals were treated using "Scrophulariae Radix-Fritillaria." The efficacy of the drug pair was evaluated in terms of thyroid gland histopathology and blood biochemical indices. Serum and urine samples of the rats were analyzed by UPLC-Q-TOF/MS. Principal component analysis (PCA) and orthogonal partial least squares discriminant analysis (OPLS-DA) were performed to screen potential biomarkers in urine and the corresponding metabolic pathways. The blood components of "Scrophulariae Radix-Fritillaria" were also identified, and their correlation with urine biomarkers was analyzed in order to screen for potential bioactive compounds. "Scrophulariae Radix-Fritillaria" mitigated injury to thyroid tissues and normalized the levels of the thyroid hormones FT3, FT4, and TSH. We also identified 22 urine biomarkers related to goiter, of which 19 were regulated by "Scrophulariae Radix-Fritillaria." Moreover, urine biomarkers are involved in tryptophan metabolism, steroid hormone biosynthesis, and beta-alanine metabolism, and these pathways may be targeted by the drug pair. In addition, 47 compounds of "Scrophulariae Radix-Fritillaria" were detected by serum pharmacochemistry, of which nine components, namely, syringic acid, paeonol, cedrol, and cis-ferulic acid, fetisinine, aucubigenin, linolenic acid, ussuriedine, and 5-(methylsulfanyl)pentanenitrile, were identified as potential effective substances against goiter. To summarize, we characterized the chemical components and mechanisms of "Scrophulariae Radix-Fritillaria" involved in the treatment of goiter, and our findings provide an experimental basis for its clinical application. Covalent organic frameworks (COFs) have garnered significant attention for nearly two decades due to their exceptional structural designs, tunable properties, and wide‐ranging applications. Recently, a novel subclass of COFs known as partially condensed, sub‐stoichiometric COFs (ss‐COFs) has emerged. This presents a promising new avenue for constructing distinct COF structures in contrast to fully condensed, stoichiometric COFs (fc‐COFs). ss‐COFs are deliberately designed with periodic unreacted functional groups, thereby giving rise to intriguing electronic, optical, and catalytic properties. The deviation from conventional stoichiometric approach opens up new prospects to tailor material properties for unexplored applications. Here, this review focuses on the latest advancements and breakthroughs in ss‐COFs, including topological design, structure characterization, synthetic method, and practical applications. From their basic designing principles to cutting‐edge properties, it will be explored how ss‐COFs are paving the way for COFs research and pushing the boundaries toward new scientific and technological possibilities. Codonopsis radix is the dried root of C. pilosula (Franch.) Nannf., C. pilosula Nannf. var. modesta (Nannf.) L. T. Shen, or C. tangshen Oliv., constitutes a botanical medicine with a profound historical lineage. It encompasses an array of bioactive constituents, including polyacetylenes, phenylpropanoids, alkaloids, triterpenoids, and polysaccharides, conferring upon it substantial medicinal and edible values. Consequently, it has garnered widespread attention from numerous scholars. In recent years, driven by advancements in modern traditional Chinese medicine, considerable strides have been taken in exploring resources utilization, traditional processing, quality evaluation and polysaccharide research of Codonopsis radix. However, there is a lack of systematic and comprehensive reporting on these research results. This paper provides a summary of recent advances in Codonopsis research, identifies existing issues in Codonopsis studies, and offers insights into future research directions. Purpose: This study evaluated the accuracy of the American College of Surgeons National Surgical Quality Improvement Program (ACS-NSQIP) calculator in predicting outcomes after hepatectomy for colorectal cancer (CRC) liver metastasis in a Southeast Asian population. Methods: Predicted and actual outcomes were compared for 166 patients undergoing hepatectomy for CRC liver metastasis identified between 2017 and 2022, using receiver operating characteristic curves with area under the curve (AUC) and Brier score. Results: The ACS-NSQIP calculator accurately predicted most postoperative complications (AUC > 0.70), except for surgical site infection (AUC = 0.678, Brier score = 0.045). It also exhibited satisfactory performance for readmission (AUC = 0.818, Brier score = 0.011), reoperation (AUC = 0.945, Brier score = 0.002), and length of stay (LOS, AUC = 0.909). The predicted LOS was close to the actual LOS (5.9 vs. 5.0 days, P = 0.985). Conclusion: The ACS-NSQIP calculator demonstrated generally accurate predictions for 30-day postoperative outcomes after hepatectomy for CRC liver metastasis in our patient population.
