Background and Aims: Tick‐borne encephalitis (TBE) is a serious and acute central nervous system infection caused by the tick‐borne encephalitis virus (TBEV). In recent years, TBE has emerged as a growing public health threat, with cases reported across Europe, the Russian Far East, Japan and China. This study aims to assess the prevalence of TBEV infection and examine behaviours associated with an increased risk of infection among individuals who visited the Heilongjiang Red Cross Sengong General Hospital due to tick bites from 2020 to 2023. Methods and Results: We collected blood samples and administered survey questionnaires from tick‐bitten people. A total of 457 samples were screened using Nested PCR, and the detected TBEV prevalence rate was 29.54% (135/457). The symptoms of redness and swelling at the site of tick bite (42.57%), fever (28.71%) and headache (10.89%) were identified in the TBEV‐positive individuals when they visited the hospital by the physician. Phylogenetic analysis of the partial E gene of TBEV revealed that the predominant strains in the region are highly virulent Far Eastern subtype. However, they do not cluster with the three established evolutionary clades of the Far Eastern type. Questionnaires data analysis identified age and first tick bite as important factors associated with TBEV infection. Conclusions: This study provides basic information on the epidemiology of TBEV in Heilongjiang Province in recent years and identifies that the most related risk factor of infecting TBEV is tick exposure. Tick-borne encephalitis virus (TBEV) represents a pivotal tick-transmitted flavivirus responsible for severe neurological consequences in Europe and Asia. The emergence of TBEV genetic mutations and vaccine-breakthrough infections, along with the absence of effective vaccines and specific drugs for other tick-borne flaviviruses associated with severe encephalitis or hemorrhagic fever, underscores the urgent need for progress in understanding the pathogenesis and intervention strategies for TBEV and related flaviviruses. Here we elucidate cellular alterations in the proteome, phosphoproteome, and acetylproteome upon TBEV infection. Our findings reveal a substantial impact of TBEV infection on the innate immune response, ribosomal biogenesis, autophagy, and DNA damage response (DDR). Mechanically, the non-structural protein NS5 of TBEV impedes DNA damage repair by interacting with SIRT1 to suppress the deacetylation of KAP1 and Ku70. Additionally, the precursor membrane protein prM induces autophagy via associating with AKT1 while constrains autolysosome formation through binding to VPS11. Inhibitors targeting DDR, as well as specific kinases, exhibit potent antiviral activity, suggesting the dysregulated pathways and kinases as potential targets for antiviral intervention. These results from our study contribute to elucidating the pathogenesis and offers insights for developing effective antiviral drugs against TBEV and other tick-borne flaviviruses. The working principles of temperature control systems differ strikingly under severe temperature conditions. Thus, effective cooling is the main requirement for temperature control at high temperatures, whereas heating is the main concern at low temperatures. Consequently, the simultaneous combination of the heating and cooling functions in the same material at high and low temperatures is a challenging task. In this study, a series of composite aerogels comprising boron nitride–polyvinyl alcohol (BN–PVA) aerogels and Azo-OCn (n = 6, 8, 10 and 12) photo-responsive phase-change materials with energy cycle control capabilities from low to high temperatures (−20 °C to 80 °C) were prepared. The resulting BN–PVA/Azo-OCn composite aerogels achieve high enthalpy energy storage (up to 284.7 J g−1) and tunable photo-responsive response time (half-life from 6.88 min to 175.04 h). Compared with the BN–PVA aerogel, the BN–PVA/Azo-OCn composite aerogels achieve temperature control with low-temperature heat release (an increase of 22.45 °C) and high-temperature heat absorption (a decrease of 11.88 °C) over an ultra-wide temperature range from −20 °C to 80 °C. An unprecedented ultra-wide range of temperature control has been achieved. This study provides new strategies for the future development of intelligent, highly thermally conductive and thermally controllable materials within an ultra-wide temperature range. Background: Songling virus (SGLV) within the genus Orthonairovirus, family Nairoviridae, is an emerging tick-borne virus associated with human febrile illness. However, no rapid detection method for SGLV has been established. Methods: In this study, four primer sets targeting the nucleocapsid protein gene of SGLV were designed for use in the LAMP assay and evaluated to identify the optimal primer set. Recombinant plasmids were constructed and utilized for assessing the sensitivity of the assay. Tacheng tick virus 1 (TcTV-1)-, Beiji nairovirus (BJNV)-, Yezo virus (YEZV)-, severe fever with thrombocytopenia syndrome virus (SFTSV)-, and tick-borne encephalitis virus (TBEV)-positive tick samples were utilized to assess the specificity. Field-collected ticks were also evaluated as biological specimens to validate the assay. Results: A SGLV-specific LAMP assay was established with a detection limit of 1 × 10–2 copies/μl and could be visually confirmed by a color change from purple to blue in SGLV-positive samples. No cross-reactivity was observed in the detection of TcTV-1, BJNV, YEZV, SFTSV, and TBEV using the LAMP assay. In addition to the detection of the same seven high-copy numbers of SGLV as the SYBR Green quantitative RT-PCR assay within a reduced timeframe, the developed LAMP method also effectively identified an additional sample with a low copy number in the field-collected tick samples. Conclusions: We successfully developed a sensitive, specific, and cost-effective visual method for the rapid detection of SGLV using the LAMP assay, which can be applied in pathogenesis and epidemiological surveillance studies of SGLV. Hydraulic measures such as hydraulic slotting and hydraulic fracturing are commonly used in coal seam pressure relief and permeability enhancement. Two-phase flow patterns of CH4–water in pore-sized coal seams after hydraulic measures are critical to improve gas extraction efficiency. The phase field module in COMSOL Multiphysics™ 5.4 and the classical ordered porous media model were used in this paper. The characteristics of CH4–water two-phase immiscible displacement in coal seams under different capillary numbers (Ca) and viscosity ratios (M) were simulated and quantitatively analyzed. By changing the contact angle of the porous media, the flow patterns of CH4–water two-phase in coal with different wettability were simulated. Results show that wettability significantly affects the displacement efficiency of CH4. Additionally, by constructing a dual-permeability model to simulate the varying local permeability of the coal, the flow patterns of different Ca and M in dual-permeability media were further investigated. It is found that CH4 preferentially invades high-permeability regions, and the displacement efficiency in low-permeability regions increases with higher Ca and M, providing a reference for gas extraction from coal seams after hydraulic measures. Intelligent fault diagnostics based on deep learning provides a favorable guarantee for the reliable operation of equipment, but a trained deep learning model generally has low prediction accuracy in cross-domain diagnostics. To solve this problem, a deep learning fault diagnosis method based on the reconstructed envelope spectrum is proposed to improve the ability of rolling bearing cross-domain fault diagnostics in this paper. First, based on the envelope spectrum morphology of rolling bearing failures, a standard envelope spectrum is constructed that reveals the unique characteristics of different bearing health states and eliminates the differences between domains due to different bearing speeds and bearing models. Then, a fault diagnosis model was constructed using a convolutional neural network to learn features and complete fault classification. Finally, using two publicly available bearing data sets and one bearing data set obtained by self-experimentation, the proposed method is applied to the data of the fault diagnostics of rolling bearings under different rotational speeds and different bearing types. The experimental results show that, compared with some popular feature extraction methods, the proposed method can achieve high diagnostic accuracy with data at different rotational speeds and different bearing types, and it is an effective method for solving the problem with cross-domain fault diagnostics for rolling bearings. Simple Summary: The main objective of this research is to find an effective way to reduce the reliance of broiler chickens on soybean meal. ZBM is a byproduct obtained by squeezing Zanthoxylum bungeanum, which contains high levels of protein, fat, and minerals. Currently, there is no existing research on the application of ZBM in broiler chickens. Therefore, this experiment aims to validate the effectiveness of using ZBM as a substitute for soybean meal in broiler chicken feed. The validation process involves two parts: in vitro biomimetic digestion experiments and broiler production experiments. The results demonstrated that the utilization of 5–10% ZBM led to notable enhancements in the growth and development of broilers. Additionally, it was observed that digestibility and utilization of nutrients were increased. Based on our research findings, we strongly believe that ZBM has the potential to be a suitable replacement for soybean meal in broiler feed. Zanthoxylum bungeanum seed meal (ZBM), a novel plant protein raw material, has shown promising potential in enhancing the growth of broiler chickens as a substitute for soybean meal (SBM) in feed. In the artificial digestive experiment of vitro experiments, the digestibility of ZBM and SBM were assessed using the SDS-III Single Stomach Animal Biometric Digestion System. Subsequently, 180 1-day old AA chicks were divided into three groups for in vivo experiments: corn–soybean-meal-based diet (CON group); ZBM replacing 5% soybean meal in the basal diet (ZBM-1 group); ZBM replacing 10% soybean meal in the basal diet (ZBM-2 group). The experiment period lasted for 42 days. Compared to SBM, ZBM demonstrated higher crude protein content, dry matter digestibility, and extracorporeal digestible protein. Compared with the CON group, the broilers in the ZBM-2 group showed improved ADG and ADFI during the 1–21 d, 22–42 d, and 1–42 d periods (p < 0.05). Furthermore, the ZBM groups exhibited significant increases in slaughter performance compared with the CON group (p < 0.05). The substitution of ZBM for SBM also leads to a significant reduction in serum enzyme indicators (p < 0.05). Additionally, the lipoprotein and total cholesterol of the ZBM groups were significantly lower than those of the CON group (p < 0.05). Substituting SBM with ZBM significantly enhances the activity of superoxide dismutase and the content of immunoglobulin G in broiler serum, while reducing the content of malondildehyde (p < 0.05). The ZBM groups showed significantly higher utilization of dry matter, crude protein, and energy compared with the CON group (p < 0.05). In conclusion, the study confirmed that the substitution of SBM with 5–10% ZBM in broiler diets has a significant positive effect on growth, development, antioxidant capacity, immune function, and nutrient utilization. Border disease virus (BDV), a member of the Pestivirus genus within the Flaviviridae family, is known to inflict significant economic losses on livestock farms due to its association with reproductive disorders and persistent infections in sheep and goats. However, comprehensive epidemiological investigations of BDV in China are scarce. This study examined BDV infection in sheep from Hulunbuir, Inner Mongolia, northeastern China, utilizing metagenomic sequencing and polymerase chain reaction (PCR) assay. Among the 96 serum samples analyzed, only one tested positive for BDV nucleotide sequence, yielding a prevalence rate of 1.0%. A total of 11,985 nt long genome sequences was amplified, which showed nucleotide identities ranging from 76.6% to 87.2% and amino acid identities ranging from 85.2% to 93.2% with other BDV strains worldwide. Phylogenetic analysis unequivocally placed the viral strain within genotype BDV-3, showing a close genetic affinity with strain JSLS12-01 identified in Jiangsu province, China. Furthermore, selection pressure analyses suggested that purifying selection predominantly influenced the evolutionary dynamics of BDV genomes. This study marks the inaugural detection of BDV in sheep within Inner Mongolia, northeastern China, thereby enhancing our understanding of the extensive genetic diversity and geographical distribution of BDV strains across the country. These findings hold relevance for the livestock industry and disease surveillance efforts, offering valuable insights into the prevalence and genetic characteristics of BDV in this region. Toxoplasma gondii (T. gondii) exhibits a significantly high prevalence of infection in goats, leading to adverse consequences such as abortion and stillbirth in ewes, thereby posing a substantial challenge to the goat farming industry. Neutrophil extracellular traps (NETs) have been shown to capture T. gondii in goats; however, the precise mechanisms underlying NET release in goats remain poorly understood. Therefore, the aim of our research was to elucidate the involved mechanism. We assessed the cytotoxicity of T. gondii on neutrophils using CCK-8 assay, visualized the structure of T. gondii-induced goat NETs through immunofluorescence, quantified ROS release during T. gondii-induced NET formation using fluorescence microplate analysis, and employed inhibitors targeting TLR 2, TLR4, NADPH oxidase, ERK1/2, and P38 MAPK signaling pathways as well as glycolysis to dissect the mechanisms underlying T. gondii-induced NET release. Within 1 h, T. gondii did not exhibit significant cytotoxicity towards neutrophils in our findings. The formation of typical NET structures induced by T. gondii involved DNA, citrullinated histone 3 (citH3), and neutrophil elastase (NE). Additionally, T. gondii significantly stimulated the release of NETs in goats. The process was accompanied by the production of reactive oxygen species (ROS) mediated through NADPH oxidase, p38, and ERK1/2 signaling pathways. Inhibition of these pathways resulted in a decrease in NET release. Moreover, inhibition of TLR 2, TLR4, and glycolysis also led to a reduction in T. gondii-induced NET release. Overall, our study demonstrates that T. gondii can induce characteristic NET structures and elucidates the involvement of various mechanisms including TLR2/TLR4 signaling pathway activation, NADPH oxidase activity modulation via ROS production regulation through p38 MAPK and ERK1/2 signaling pathways, and glycolysis regulation during the innate immune response against T. gondii infection in goats. Silver nanocubes monolayer-modified polydimethylsiloxane (Ag NC/PDMS) flexible SERS substrates have been prepared by a three-phase interface self-assembly procedure. The combination of this method with membrane technology brings nanoparticles in close proximity, densely, and regularly arranged in monolayers over a large area, leading to excellent SERS properties. Considering the complexity of practical detection, molecular imprinted polymers (MIPs) were anchored on the surface of SERS substrate and applied to selective detection of microcystin-LR (MC-LR). It is worth mentioning that the SERS imprinted membranes (AP-MIMs) were still clearly detected at a concentration of 0.1 µg·L−1 of MC-LR in drinking water, and the detection limit was as low as 0.0067 µg·L−1. The substrate exhibited excellent uniformity with a relative standard deviation (RSD) of 6.1%. In the presence of interference molecules, AP-MIMs exhibited excellent selectivity for MC-LR. Furthermore, in the spiking and recovery tests of practical lake water samples, the method showed excellent recoveries ranging from 96.47 to 105.31%. Simple Summary: Cottonseed protein concentrate (CPC) is a novel plant protein source that has been developed using advanced cottonseed processing technology. It was extensively utilized as a replacement for fish meal in feed within the aquaculture industry. However, there was limited research on using CPC as a protein source to replace soybean meal in broiler diets. This study conducted a comprehensive analysis of the chemical and amino acid composition of CPC, and assessed its protein and amino acid digestibility, metabolizable energy value, and net energy value in the broiler chickens. Additionally, the experiment examined the effects of replacing 25% and 50% of soybean meal in feed with CPC on the growth performance, blood parameters, antioxidant capacity, and immunoglobulin content of broiler chickens. These findings provide valuable insights into the potential use of CPC as a substitute for soybean meal in broiler feed formulation. Cottonseed protein concentrate (CPC) has the function of replacing soybean meal to maintain normal animal growth and development. This study involved 180 Arbor Acres (AA) broilers, which were randomly assigned to three different treatments. Each treatment had six replicates, with each replicate consisting of 10 chicks. The control group was fed a basal diet, while the CPC-1 and CPC-2 groups used CPC to replace 25% and 50% of the soybean meal in the basal diet, respectively. The study showed that replacing soybean meal with 25% CPC in broilers' diets can maintain normal growth, while substituting 50% of soybean meal with CPC negatively affects the growth and development of broiler chickens. Furthermore, the CPC-1 group showed a significant increase in serum total antioxidant capacity, superoxide dismutase enzyme activity, and immunoglobulin content, along with a decrease in malondialdehyde content. Based on the research results mentioned above, it was speculated that CPC has the potential to replace around 25% of soybean meal in broiler feed without causing any negative impact on growth performance. Environmental persistent free radicals (EPFRs) are receiving growing concerns owing to their potentially adverse impacts on human health. Road dust is one important source of air pollution in most cities and may pose significant health risks. Characteristics of EPFRs in urban road dusts and its formation mechanism(s) are still rarely studied. Here, we evaluated occurrence and size distributions of EPFRs in road dusts from different functional areas of an urban city, and assessed relationship between EPFRs and some transition metals. Strong electron paramagnetic resonance signals of 6.01 × 1016 − 1.3 × 1019 spins/g with the mean g value of 2.0029 ± 0.0019 were observed, indicating that EPFRs consisted of a mixture of C-centered radicals, and C-centered radicals with an adjacent oxygen atom in the urban road dust. Much more EPFRs enriched in finer dust particles. EPFRs significantly correlated with the total Fe, but not water-soluble Fe, suggesting different impacts of water-soluble and insoluble metals in the formation of EFPRs. Health risk assessment results indicated high risk potentials via the ingestion and dermal exposure to EPFRs in road dusts. The internal three-dimensional characteristics of X-ray microtomography (micro-CT) has great application potential in the field of bronze corrosion. This work presents a method of simulating bronze disease based on an in situ micro-CT image to study the characteristics of the oxidative hydrolysis reactions of copper(I) chloride and copper(II) chloride dihydrate. A series of high-resolution reconstruction images were obtained by carrying out micro-CT at three key points throughout the experiment. We found that the reactions of copper(I) chloride and copper(II) chloride dihydrate showed different characteristics at different stages of the simulation in the micro-CT view. The method proposed in this work specifically simulated one single type of bronze corrosion and characterized the evolution characteristics of simulated bronze disease. It provides a new perspective to investigate bronze disease and can help improve the subsequent use of micro-CT to distinguish real bronze corrosions. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This article presents analysis, design details, and simulation results of an impedance matching network designed for a 112 Gb/s pulse-amplitude-modulation-4 (PAM4) receiver using an LC- π structure. We designed the bonding wire as a part of the matching network, which reduced design pressure on the equalizer as there will be no need to compensate the loss of the chip package. To avoid robustness issues caused by the fluctuation of the bonding wire inductance, the matching network is designed to bw adjustable by the capacitance on PCB and the terminal resistance. We analyzed the parasitics in the layout and the influence of nearby and dummy metals and obtained reliable simulation results through electromagnetic field simulation. This matching network is designed with a 28 nm CMOS process. Post-layout simulation results show that with bonding wire inductance changing from 150 pH to 250 pH, it can always meet CEI-112G-XSR-PAM4 Extra Short Reach Interface requirements. There is growing interest in multi-nozzle array printing, as it has the potential to increase productivity and produce more intricate products. However, a key challenge is ensuring consistent flow across each outlet. In the heat exchangers, achieving uniform distribution of flow in parallel channels is a classic goal. To address this issue in multi-nozzle array direct printing technology, high-viscosity slurry fluids can be utilized in place of water, and the structure of compact parallel channels can be employed. This study experimentally and numerically investigated the flow distribution law of Herschel-Bulkley fluids (high-viscosity slurry fluids) entering each manifold of the compact parallel channels, which contained a single circular inlet and multiple outlets. The research identified two types of factors that impact the non-uniformity flow coefficient (Φ), which reflects the uniformity of flow distribution in each channel of the structure: entrance and exit conditions (V, P1, P2) that have a negligible effect on Φ, and structural dimensions (D, S, L, N, A, d) that are the primary influence factors. By analyzing the experimental results, a prediction model was derived that could accurately calculate Φ (error < 0.05) based on three structural dimensions: A, S, and L. Traditional contact printing technology is primarily controlled by the shape of the mask to form the size, while for the more popular non-contact printing technologies, in recent years, adjusting the print parameters has become a direct way to control the result of the printing. High-viscosity conductive pastes are generally processed by screen printing, but this method has limited accuracy and wastes material. Direct-write printing is a more material-efficient method, but the printing of high-viscosity pastes has extrusion difficulties, which affects the printed line width. In this paper, we addressed these problems by studying the method of printing high-viscosity conductive paste with a self-made glass nozzle. Then, by parameter optimization, we achieved the minimum line width printing. The results showed that the substrate moving speed, the print height, and the feed pressure were the key factors affecting the line width and stability. The combination of the printing parameters of 0.6 MPa feed pressure, 200 mm/s substrate moving speed, and 150 μm print height can achieve a line width of approximately 30 μm. In addition, a mathematical model of the line width and parameters was established, and the prediction accuracy was within 5%. The results and the prediction model of the parameters provide an important reference for the printing of high-viscosity pastes, which have immense potential applications in electronics manufacturing and bioprinting. Background: Vector-borne flaviviruses, including tick-borne encephalitis virus (TBEV), Zika virus (ZIKV), West Nile virus (WNV), yellow fever virus (YFV), dengue virus (DENV), and Japanese encephalitis virus (JEV), pose a growing threat to public health worldwide, and have evolved complex mechanisms to overcome host antiviral innate immunity. However, the underlying mechanisms of flavivirus structural proteins to evade host immune response remain elusive. Results: We showed that TBEV structural protein, pre-membrane (prM) protein, could inhibit type I interferon (IFN-I) production. Mechanically, TBEV prM interacted with both MDA5 and MAVS and interfered with the formation of MDA5-MAVS complex, thereby impeding the nuclear translocation and dimerization of IRF3 to inhibit RLR antiviral signaling. ZIKV and WNV prM was also demonstrated to interact with both MDA5 and MAVS, while dengue virus serotype 2 (DENV2) and YFV prM associated only with MDA5 or MAVS to suppress IFN-I production. In contrast, JEV prM could not suppress IFN-I production. Overexpression of TBEV and ZIKV prM significantly promoted the replication of TBEV and Sendai virus. Conclusion: Our findings reveal the immune evasion mechanisms of flavivirus prM, which may contribute to understanding flavivirus pathogenicity, therapeutic intervention and vaccine development. Background: Ticks act as important vectors of infectious agents, and several emerging tick-borne viruses have recently been identified to be associated with human diseases in northeastern China. However, little is known about the tick virome in northeastern China. Methods: Ticks collected from April 2020 to July 2021 were pooled for metagenomic analysis to investigate the virome diversity in northeastern China. Results: In total, 22 RNA viruses were identified, including four each in the Nairoviridae and Phenuiviridae families, three each in the Flaviviridae, Rhabdoviridae, and Solemoviridae families, two in the Chuviridae family, and one each in the Partitiviridae, Tombusviridae families and an unclassified virus. Of these, eight viruses were of novel species, belonging to the Nairoviridae (Ji'an nairovirus and Yichun nairovirus), Phenuiviridae (Mudanjiang phlebovirus), Rhabdoviridae (Tahe rhabdovirus 1–3), Chuviridae (Yichun mivirus), and Tombusviridae (Yichun tombus-like virus) families, and five members were established human pathogens, including Alongshan virus, tick-borne encephalitis virus, Songling virus, Beiji nairovirus, and Nuomin virus. I. persulcatus ticks had significant higher number of viral species than H. japonica, H. concinna, and D. silvarum ticks. Significant differences in tick viromes were observed among Daxing'an, Xiaoxing'an and Changbai mountains. Conclusions: These findings showed an extensive diversity of RNA viruses in ticks in northeastern China, revealing potential public health threats from the emerging tick-borne viruses. Further studies are needed to explain the natural circulation and pathogenicity of these viruses. Author summary: Ticks are important vectors to transmit many infectious agents. In recent years, many novel tick-borne viruses associated with human illness, including Alongshan virus, Songling virus, and Beiji nairovirus, have been identified in northeastern China. It is necessary to conduct routine surveillance of tick-borne viruses in ticks, however, little is known about the tick virome in northeastern China. In this study, we used metatranscriptomics to investigate the virome diversity in four tick species collected from northeastern China. In total, we identified 22 RNA viruses belonging to eight virus families (exclude an unclassified virus). Of these, five members were established human pathogens, eight viruses were of novel species, and six viruses had close relationship with pathogenic tick-borne viruses with potential public health threats. Moreover, we found that the viromes were significantly affected by the tick species and geographical location in the study. These findings revealed an extensive diversity of RNA viruses in ticks in northeastern China, which will lay the foundation for the prevention and control of emerging tick-borne diseases. This study aimed to investigate the effects of dietary supplementation with 5-aminolevulinic acid (5-ALA) on growth performance, blood parameters, iron status, nutrient digestibility, and antioxidant capacity in broilers. A total of 600 one-day-old Arbour Acres broilers were distributed into 5 groups with 6 replicates of 20 birds by a completely randomised design. The birds in the 5 groups were fed the basal diets with 0, 15, 30, 45, and 60 mg/kg 5-ALA, respectively. Dietary supplementation with 60 mg/kg 5-ALA significantly reduced the feed to gain ratio during days 1–21 and days 22–42. Moreover, compared with the control group, dietary supplementation with 30 mg/kg 5-ALA elevated haemoglobin concentrations during days 1–21. Furthermore, dietary supplementation with 45 and 60 mg/kg 5-ALA increased the digestibility of crude protein and decreased serum uric acid levels. At 21 days of age, dietary supplementation with 45 and 60 mg/kg 5-ALA increased liver catalase activity and decreased liver malondialdehyde concentrations, and upregulated the liver mRNA expression of ferritin light chain and nuclear factor erythroid 2-related 2. In addition, the liver mRNA expression of haem oxygenase-1 and divalent metal transporter were upregulated in the 60 mg/kg 5-ALA supplementation group, while the liver mRNA expression of Kelch-like ECH-associated protein 1 was decreased in the 5-ALA supplementation groups. A low-alloyed Mg−2Zn−0.8Sr−0.2Ca matrix composite reinforced by TiC nano-particles was successfully prepared by semi-solid stirring under the assistance of ultrasonic, and then the as-cast composite was hot extruded. The results indicated that the volume fraction of dynamical recrystallization and the recrystallized grain size have a certain decline at lower extrusion temperature or rate. The finest grain size of ∼0.30 µm is obtained in the sample extruded at 200°C and 0.1 mm/s. The as-extruded sample displays a strong basal texture intensity, and the basal texture intensity increases to 5.937 mud while the extrusion temperature increases from 200 to 240°C. The ultra-high mechanical properties (ultimate tensile strength of 480.2 MPa, yield strength of 462 MPa) are obtained after extrusion at 200°C with a rate of 0.1 mm/s. Among all strengthening mechanisms for the present composite, the grain refinement contributes the most to the increase in strength. A mixture of cleavage facets and dimples were observed in the fracture surfaces of three as-extruded nanocomposites, which explain a mix of brittle-ductile fracture way of the samples. Simple Summary: Fermented feed is an effective way to replace antibiotics in poultry. The purpose of this study was to explore the effects of different levels of fermented feeds on growth performance, nutrient utilization, antioxidant function, meat quality, and intestinal microorganisms of broilers. A total of 240, 1-day-old male Arbor Acres broilers were randomly allocated into four treatment groups, each comprised of six replicates. The groups were fed a corn–soybean meal-based diet (basic diet) or the same diet supplemented with 5%, 10%, or 15% FPFF for 6 weeks. In the field of downhole drilling robot, dragging force, size and safety of the robot are the main indexes to evaluate the adaptability of downhole drilling robot. In fact, the characteristics of the gripping mechanism are the most important factors affecting the dragging force, safety and miniaturization of the drilling robot. Based on this status, a novel drilling robot with gripping mechanism of co-directional double inclined plane (GMCDIP) is proposed. The GMCDIP is divided into two processes which are composed of griping process of inclined plane (GPIP) and griping process of connecting rod (GPCR). Mechanical models of GPIP and GPCR are established, respectively. Based on the mechanical models, the boundaries of self-locking of the GPIP and GPCR are found. When the friction coefficient between friction block and wall of wellbore is 0.35 and friction coefficient between friction block and gripping block is 0.15. The inclination angle of the gripping block is 10.66°. And, the angle of the collect rod is 19.10°. To ensure that the drilling robot will not be stuck, the inclination angle of the gripping block is taken when gripping force = 30–50% of dragging force. Furthermore, an experimental device and a drilling robot are designed and processed. Experimental data verify the correctness of the novel design method and mechanical model of GMCDIP. The significance of this paper is to solve the problem of large dragging force, safety and miniaturization of the drilling robot simultaneously. This study aimed to analyze the clinical significance of serum ferritin, procalcitonin (PCT), and C-reactive protein (CRP) in patients with hemorrhagic fever with renal syndrome (HFRS). The demographical, clinical, and laboratory data of 373 patients with HFRS in northeastern China were retrospectively analyzed. The levels of serum ferritin and PCT in severe patients (n = 108) were significantly higher than those in mild patients (n = 265, p < 0.001) and associated with HFRS severity. The area under the receiver operating characteristic curve (AUC) values of serum ferritin and PCT for predicting the severity of HFRS were 0.732 (95% CI 0.678–0.786, p < 0.001) and 0.824 (95% CI 0.773–0.875, p < 0.001), respectively, showing sensitivity and specificity of 0.75 and 0.88 for serum ferritin, and 0.76 and 0.60 for PCT. The CRP level in HFRS with bacterial co-infection (n = 115) was higher than that without bacterial co-infection (n = 258, p < 0.001). The AUC value of CRP for predicting bacterial co-infection was 0.588 (95% CI 0.525–0.652, p < 0.001), showing sensitivity and specificity of 0.43 and 0.76, respectively. The serum ferritin level in non-survivors (n = 14) was significantly higher than in survivors (n = 359, p < 0.001). The AUC value of serum ferritin for predicting mortality was 0.853 (95% CI 0.774–0.933, p < 0.001), showing sensitivity and specificity of 0.933 and 0.739. Serum ferritin and PCT have a robust association with HFRS severity and mortality, which may be promising predictors, and CRP is an effective biomarker to assess bacterial co-infection in HFRS. The twist angle between two van der Waals coupled monolayers has emerged as a new and powerful degree of freedom for engineering physical properties of semiconductor homo- and hetero-bilayers. While the interlayer twist has shown prominent effect on electronic and optical properties of transition metal dichalcogenide (TMD) bilayers, it remains unclear how it could be used to manipulate the exciton dynamics, especially exciton-exciton annihilation (EEA) process which is the dominant energy loss channel in TMDs under moderate to high exciton density due to strong Coulomb interaction. Herein, we show that the twist angle in TMD bilayers can act as an effective knob to control the EEA process. Specifically, EEA rate constant increases from 1° twisted WSe2 bilayers (0.026 cm2/s) by more than twice to 32° twisted bilayers (0.053 cm2/s) and then drops again in 60° twisted bilayers (0.019 cm2/s). This twist-angle dependence can be attributed to the energy difference between indirect and direct excitons arising from the interlayer interaction. Background: The hippocampus with varying degrees of atrophy was a crucial neuroimaging feature resulting in the declining memory and cognitive function in Alzheimer's disease (AD). However, the abnormal dynamic functional connectivity (DFC) in both white matter (WM) and gray matter (GM) from the left and right hippocampus remains unclear.Objective: To explore the abnormal DFC within WM and GM from the left and right hippocampus across the different stages of AD.Methods: Current study employed the OASIS-3 dataset including 43 mild cognitive impairment (MCI), 71 pre-mild cognitive impairment (pre-MCI), and matched 87 normal cognitive (NC). Adopting the FMRIB's Integrated Registration and Segmentation Tool, we obtained the left and right hippocampus mask. Based on above hippocampus mask as seed point, we calculated the DFC between left/right hippocampus and all voxel time series within whole brain. One-way ANOVA analysis was performed to estimate the abnormal DFC among MCI, pre-MCI, and NC groups.Results: We found that MCI and pre-MCI groups showed the common abnormalities of DFC in the Temporal_Mid_L, Cingulum_Mid_L, and Thalamus_L. Specific abnormalities were found in the Cerebelum_9_L and Precuneus of MCI group and Vermis_8 and Caudate_L of pre-MCI group. In addition, we found that DFC within WM regions also showed the common low DFC for the Cerebellum anterior lobe-WM, Corpus callosum, and Frontal lobe-WM in MCI and pre-MCI group.Conclusion: Our findings provided a novel information for discover the pathophysiological mechanisms of AD and indicate WM lesions were also an important cause of cognitive decline in AD. Tick‐borne encephalitis virus (TBEV) is an important causative agent that causes neurological infections in humans and animals. In recent years, only few epidemiological surveys on TBEV have been conducted in China. The purpose of this study was to determine the prevalence and subtype of TBEV in ticks in northeastern (NE) China. A total of 3799 questing ticks were collected in NE China between April 2015 and June 2016. Ticks were pooled and tested for TBEV RNA using semi‐nested reverse transcriptase‐polymerase chain reaction. Positive pools were used to isolate the virus and amplify complete sequences, followed by sequence identity and phylogenetic analysis. TBEV RNA was detected in Ixodes persulcatus ticks at a total prevalence of 2.9% (6/143; 95% confidence interval: 1.2%–5.9%). Three TBEV strains were isolated (JL‐T75, HLB‐T74, and DXAL‐T83) and showed 93.9%–99.1% nucleotide identities and 97.1%–99.5% amino acid identities in Far Eastern (FE) TBEV subtypes, and 82.9%–87.6% nucleotide identities and 92.9%–96.4% amino acid identities in other subtypes. For polyprotein, the JL‐T75, HLB‐T74, and DXAL‐T83 strains showed 29, 50, and 55 amino acid residues, respectively, different from those in the TBEV vaccine (Senzhang) strain in China. Phylogenetic analysis revealed that these viruses were clustered in the FE‐TBEV branch but formed distinct clades depending on the natural foci. The results of this study suggest that the FE‐TBEV subtype is still endemic in I. persulcatus ticks in NE China, and the viruses in different natural foci in NE China are more likely to have genetic differences. Behavioral inhibitory control (BIC) acts as a key cognitive ability, which is essential for humans to withhold inappropriate behaviors. Meanwhile, many studies reported that long-term exposure to high altitude (HA) may affect cognitive ability. However, it is not clear whether long-term exposure to HAs may affect the BIC of an individual. To clarify the role of altitude in the behavioral control of adults and the underlying neural mechanism, we explored the BIC neural activity profiles of healthy immigrants from low-altitude (LA) regions to HA regions. Combining a two-choice oddball paradigm and electrophysiological techniques, this study monitored the N2 and P3 event-related components and neural oscillations across LA and HA groups. Results showed longer reaction times (RTs) for the HA group than the LA group. Relative to the LA group, lower N2 and P3 amplitudes were observed for the HA group. Significant positive correlations were also found between P3 amplitude and theta/delta band power across both groups. Importantly, lower theta/delta band powers were only observed for the HA group under the deviant condition. Collectively, these findings suggest that long-term exposure to HAs may attenuate BIC during the response inhibition stage and provide valuable insights into the neurocognitive implications of environmental altitude on BIC. The finite element discretization of a tower system based on the two-node Euler-Bernoulli beam is carried out by taking the cubic Hermite polynomial as the form function of the beam unit, calculating the structural characteristic matrix of the tower system, and establishing the wind turbine-nacelle-tower multi-degree-of-freedom finite element numerical model. The equation for calculating the aerodynamic load for any nacelle attitude angle is derived. The effect of the flexible tower vibration feedback on the aerodynamic load of the wind turbine is studied. The results show that, when the stiffness of the tower is large, the effect of having tower vibration feedback or not on the aeroelastic load of the wind turbine is small. For the more flexible tower system, wind-induced vibration time-varying feedback will cause larger aeroelastic load variations, especially the top of the tower overturning moment, thus causing a larger impact on the dynamic behavior of the tower downwind and crosswind. As the flexibility of the tower system increases, the interaction between tower vibration and pneumatic load is also gradually increasing. Taking into account the influence of flexible towers on the aeroelastic load of a wind turbine can help predict the pneumatic load of a wind turbine more accurately and improve the efficiency of wind energy utilization on the one hand and analyze the dynamic behavior of the flexible structure of a wind turbine more accurately on the other hand, which is extremely beneficial to the structural optimization of wind turbine. Alzheimer's disease (AD) is a progressive neurodegenerative disorder with memory loss and cognitive impairment. The white matter (WM) BOLD signal has recently been shown to provide an important role in understanding the intrinsic cerebral activity. Although the altered homotopic functional connectivity within gray matter (GM-HFC) has been examined in AD, the abnormal HFC to WM remains unknown. The present study sought to identify changes in the WM-HFC and anatomic characteristics by combining functional magnetic resonance imaging with diffusion tensor imaging (DTI). Resting-state and DTI magnetic resonance images were collected from the OASIS-3 dataset and consisted of 53 mild cognitive impairment (MCI) patients, 90 very MCI (VMCI), and 100 normal cognitive (NC) subjects. Voxel-mirrored HFC was adopted to examine whether WM-HFC was disrupted in VMCI and MCI participants. Moreover, the DTI technique was used to investigate whether specific alterations of WM-HFC were associated with anatomic characteristics. Support vector machine analyses were used to identify the MCI and VMCI participants using the abnormal WM-HFC as the features. Compared with NC, MCI, and VMCI participants showed significantly decreased GM-HFC in the middle occipital gyrus and inferior parietal gyrus and decreased WM-HFC in the bilateral middle occipital and parietal lobe-WM. In addition, specific WM-functional network alteration for the bilateral sub-lobar-WM was found in MCI subjects. MCI subjects showed abnormal anatomic characteristics for bilateral sub-lobar and parietal lobe-WM. Results of GM-HFC mainly showed common neuroimaging features for VMCI and MCI subjects, whereas analysis of WM-HFC showed specific clinical neuromarkers and effectively compensated for the lack of GM-HFC to distinguish NC, VMCI, and MCI subjects. Purpose: Due to the uncontrollable dragging force and velocity of the drilling robot, the weight on bit (WOB) and rate of penetration (ROP) can not be controlled. So, there is not an application of in the drilling engineering even through downhole robots have been developed for many years. Dynamic characteristics are the theoretical basis for controlling WOB and ROP. Methods: In this paper, the power source of the driving force of the drilling robot is found, which is the pressure difference between inside and outside of the drilling robot. The calculation model of the dragging force of the drilling robot is obtained. On the basis, a fluid–solid coupling nonlinear dynamic model (CT-drilling robot-hydraulic motor-bit-rock-drilling fluid) is established. The nonlinear dynamic characterization is simulated by Runge–Kutta method. Results: The nonlinear dynamic model of the coiled tubing drilling system introduces the characteristics of drilling fluid, rock mechanics and ROP for the first time. The effects of robot position, friction coefficient, displacement fluctuation of drilling fluid and WOB fluctuation on the dynamic characteristics of drilling system are studied. It is found that the displacement of drilling fluid, position of drilling robot and friction coefficient are the main factors affecting the dynamics of the CT drilling system based on drilling robot. Conclusion: This paper finds out power source of the drilling robot, which is the pressure difference between the internal and external of the drilling robot. The acquisition of dynamic characteristics will provide a theoretical basis for the control method of downhole robot, rock breaking mechanism based on drilling robot, bit selection and design of bottom hole assembly, etc. It will also promote the development of downhole robots and solve the bottleneck problem of coiled tubing "buckling" and "locking". The severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus-2 (SARS-CoV-2) is the causative pathogen of current COVID-19 pandemic, and insufficient production of type I interferon (IFN-I) is associated with the severe forms of the disease. Membrane (M) protein of SARS-CoV-2 has been reported to suppress host IFN-I production, but the underlying mechanism is not completely understood. In this study, SARS-CoV-2 M protein was confirmed to suppress the expression of IFNβ and interferon-stimulated genes induced by RIG-I, MDA5, IKKϵ, and TBK1, and to inhibit IRF3 phosphorylation and dimerization caused by TBK1. SARS-CoV-2 M could interact with MDA5, TRAF3, IKKϵ, and TBK1, and induce TBK1 degradation via K48-linked ubiquitination. The reduced TBK1 further impaired the formation of TRAF3–TANK–TBK1-IKKε complex that leads to inhibition of IFN-I production. Our study revealed a novel mechanism of SARS-CoV-2 M for negative regulation of IFN-I production, which would provide deeper insight into the innate immunosuppression and pathogenicity of SARS-CoV-2. Toxoplasma gondii (T. gondii) can cause zoonotic toxoplasmosis worldwide. Neutrophil extracellular traps (NETs) have been known as a novel effector mechanism against T. gondii infection in the innate system of humans, cats, and sheep. Dogs are the intermediate host of T. gondii , in which the use of NETs against T. gondii infection remains unclear. Thus, this study aims to examine the effects of T. gondii on NETs release in dogs, and to further investigate the mechanism involved in the process. T. gondii -triggered NETs were analyzed by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and fluorescence confocal microscopy, and the mechanism of T. gondii -triggered NETs release was determined by using inhibitors and a fluorometric reader. The results showed that T. gondii tachyzoites significantly triggered NETs-like structures, which consisted of DNA decorated with neutrophil elastase (NE) and myeloperoxidase (MPO). Further investigations revealed that reactive oxygen species (ROS)-, NADPH oxidase-, Rac 1- or p38 mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK)-signaling pathways were relevant to T. gondii tachyzoites-triggered NETs release. Moreover, zymosan-triggered NETs release was strikingly degraded by T. gondii tachyzoites treatment, indicating that T. gondii may escape from the NETs-based capture strategy. Background Many novel tick-borne viruses have been discovered by deep-sequencing technology in recent years; however, their medical significance is unknown. Methods We obtained clinical data of a patient from Xinjiang, China. Possible pathogens were detected by metagenomic analysis; the causative pathogen Tacheng tick virus 1 (TcTV-1) was found and further confirmed by reverse transcriptase–polymerase chain reaction, viral culture, and sequence analyses. Epidemiological investigation was conducted in the local human population, domestic animals, and ticks by serological/molecular methods. Results A 62-year-old woman with a history of tick bite in Qinghe, Xinjiang, presented with fever and rashes. These symptoms were relieved after clinical treatment. TcTV-1 (strain QH1) was isolated from the patient's cerebrospinal fluid, throat swabs, and urine on day 47 after illness onset. Although the blood and urine showed viral RNA positive on day 73 after illness onset, the virus was only isolated from urine. Serological detection revealed a virus neutralizing antibody titer of 1:40 and 1:80 on day 47 and 73 after illness onset, respectively. No coinfection with other pathogens was detected, suggesting TcTV-1 may be the potential causative pathogen. We detected anti–TcTV-1 antibodies (immunoglobulin G: 10.1%; immunoglobulin M: 4.8%) in the local human population. The viral RNA was also found in cattle (4.9%), sheep (9.2%), and ticks, including Dermacentor marginatus (14.3%), Dermacentor silvarum (11.8%), Dermacentor nuttalli (6.7%), and Hyalomma asiaticum (4.8%). Conclusions TcTV-1 may be associated with a febrile illness syndrome, and epidemiological data of the virus in humans and animals necessitate disease surveillance of TcTV-1 infection in China. Lyme disease is considered as one of important tick-transmitted zoonosis in northeastern China, where the causative agents, the Borrelia burgdorferi sensu lato (s.l.) complex, remain poorly characterized. The purpose of the present study was to determine the prevalence and genospecies of B. burgdorferi s.l. in ticks in northeastern China. In May, 2015, a total of 2785 unfed adult ticks were collected in the Jilin and Heilongjiang provinces of northeastern China, with the predominant tick species of Ixodes persulcatus (59.9%), followed by Haemaphysalis concinna (14.8%), Haemaphysalis longicornis (8.9%), Dermacentor nuttalli (9.4%), and Dermacentor silvarum (7.0%). Only I. persulcatus was tested positive for Borrelia spirochetes DNA by PCR, targeting the 5S-23S rRNA intergenic spacer and 16S rRNA genes, with a prevalence of 1.9%. Phylogenetic analysis based on the partial 5S-23S rRNA intergenic spacer and 16S rRNA genes showed that these positive samples were grouped into four pathogenic genospecies for humans, including Borrelia garinii (2.8%), Borrelia afzelii (0.2%), Borrelia bavariensis (0.1%), and Borrelia bissettii (0.1%). These results showed that B. garinii is the predominant genospecies and I. persulcatus is the main tick host and carrier in northeastern China. Abstract: Aim: This study aimed to evaluate the optimal combination of parameters for the management of pain during surgical abortion using transcutaneous acupoint electrical stimulation (TEAS). Methods: This study recruited patients scheduled for surgical abortion between October 2014 and August 2015. The treatment protocol was created using three levels for each factor (stimulating time, acupoints, age, and parity). The primary outcomes were intraoperative visual analog scale (VAS), postoperative VAS, cervical relaxation degree and intraoperative blood loss. The secondary outcomes were the vital signs. Results: Stimulation time was associated with intraoperative VAS scores (P < 0.001), acupoints were associated with postoperative VAS scores (P = 0.037), and age was associated with postoperative VAS scores (P < 0.043). Parity (P = 0.025) was associated with heart rate. A comprehensive analysis of the parameters revealed the best levels for each (stimulation time: from 15 min before operation to immediate postoperative; acupoints: SP 6 and LR 3; patient age 25.1–30.0 years; and parity: G≥2P0A≥1). Seven patients did not complete follow‐up. The remaining 135 subjects did not show continuous vaginal bleeding, abdominal pain, fever or any other adverse effect. Conclusion: During surgical abortion, TEAS stimulation from 15 min before operation to immediate postoperative, SP 6 and LR 3, age 25.1–30.0 years and G≥2P0A≥1 were associated with the best analgesic effect. An objective video quality assessment method is proposed to evaluate the video quality in voice over internet protocol (VoIP) applications under network distortion. The fluency and the clarity of videos are two main parts of the factors that affect user experience, thus the method evaluates these two parts to assess the distortions of videos in VoIP applications caused by codec and packet loss. The clarity of the video is measured by calculating block artifacts and frame blurring. Video blocking artifacts are measured by splitting the picture into small blocks and calculating the difference of the pixels around each border while video blurring is measured by getting edge information through Sobel operator, and counting the gradient histogram. Then the video clarity can be measured by a weighted sum of block artifacts score and blurring score using linear regression. The scores are also normalized in order to eliminate the impact of different video contents. The video fluency is calculated by counting the wrong frame in the video. Finally, a weighted sum of video clarity score and video fluency score can represent the quality of the video. The experimental results show that the objective quality scores have a strong correlation with the subjective quality scores, and the algorithm concludes two parts of user experience other than just image quality, which is more comprehensive and it can be used in video quality assessment in VoIP applications. The future development of new-type urbanization has drawn great attention from both the government and public alike. In this context, the present study had three related research aims. Firstly, it sought to predict the urbanization and population dynamics in China at both national and provincial levels for the period of 2015 to 2030. Secondly, on this basis, it sought to examine the spatial variation of urbanization given the predicted national urbanization rate of 70.12%. Thirdly, it sought to estimate and evaluate the national and provincial demands of investment in the development of new-type urbanization. The main conclusions from this study were as follows: (1) The population size and urbanization rate will reach 1.445 billion and 70.12%, respectively, from 2015 to 2030. (2) The demographic dividend will vanish when the population pressure reaches its maximum. During this period, there will be 70.16 million urban population born. The suburban population that becomes urbanized will be 316.7 million, and thus the net increase in urban population will reach 386 million. (3) Although the urbanization rate of every Chinese province will increase during 2015-2030, it will do so unequally, while differences in urbanization quality among provinces will also be substantial. In some provinces, moreover, the urbanization quality is not compatible with their eco-social development. (4) A total of 4,105,380 billion yuan is required to fund new-type urbanization and the investment demand for each province varies greatly; for example, Guangdong province requires the most funding, amounting to approximately 148 times that required by Tibet, the province in least need of funding. Mitogen-activated protein kinases (MAPKs) regulate key signaling events in a variety of eukaryotic cells. Toxoplasma gondii, the causative agents of toxoplasmosis, possesses a p38α MAPK homologue, MAPK1, which is an important manipulator of host immunity and virulence in mice. In this work, we showed an increased transcript level of MAPK1 in T. gondii during bradyzoite differentiation induced by alkaline treatment and heat shock in vitro, suggesting that MAPK1 may be associated with bradyzoite differentiation. The biological roles of MAPK1 of T. gondii were investigated by construction of a MAPK1 deletion mutant (Δ mapk1) and a complementation mutant with restored MAPK1 expression using a type I strain. Knockout of MAPK1 resulted in markedly defective bradyzoite differentiation, host-cell attachment and parasite replication in vitro, and the inability to cause lethal infection in a murine model of acute toxoplasmosis, with lower parasite burden in infected tissues, showing that MAPK1 is associated with the acute virulence of parasite in mice. Complementation of MAPK1-deficient parasites restored bradyzoite development, attachment, replication, and virulence. A wideband omnidirectional circularly polarized (CP) antenna is proposed in this paper. The antenna is comprised of two slotted square patches which are connected by four vertical metal strips at the edges and a simple feeding probe in the centre. Loop currents can be yielded on the patches when rotation-symmetrically offsetting slots are cut. By combining the two orthogonal fields radiating from the loop and the feeding probe, omnidirectional circular polarization is obtained in the azimuth plane. One group of slots are cut to verify the CP performance and two groups of slots are cut to further broaden the operating bandwidth. Measured results show that the proposed antenna with a small size of 40 × 40 × 10 mm3 obtains an effective bandwidth of 22% (2.1-2.62 GHz) for | S11| < −10 dB and axial ratio < 3dB. © 2015 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. A strip-coupling antenna and its bidirectional array with the same-sense circular polarization are introduced. By placing a bending strip above a narrow slot, circular polarization is obtained by combing the electric and magnetic currents. An array consisting of a three-element long slot and coupled strips on both sides of the slot is then constructed for bidirectional radiations with high gain. The fabricated antenna array shows wide bandwidth of 16.6% (2.16–2.55 GHz) for |S11| < −10 dB and 5.8% (2.33–2.47 GHz) for axial ratio  <3 dB. Toxoplasma gondii can infect almost all warm-blooded animals, and many serological methods have been developed to detect T. gondii infection in a variety of animal species. In the present study, the seroprevalence of T. gondii infection in farmed mink in northeast China was determined using the modified agglutination test (MAT), a Western blot (WB), and 3 enzyme-linked immunosorbent assays (ELISAs) with protein A/G conjugate, using either of 2 recombinant dense granule antigens, GRA1 and GRA7, or Toxoplasma soluble antigens (TSA). There was no significant difference between the detection results of the GRA1-, GRA7-, and TSA-ELISAs and WB (McNemar chi-square, P > 0.05), but a significant difference was observed between MAT and WB (P < 0.05). A near perfect agreement (97.0%) was found between the GRA7-ELISA and WB (κ = 0.83), and a substantial agreement (92.4–93.1%) was observed in the TSA- and GRA1-ELISAs (κ = 0.68–0.73). The GRA7-ELISA showed the highest sensitivity and specificity, and the lowest false-positive and negative rates, while the MAT gave both a low sensitivity and frequent false positives in comparison to the WB. Receiver operating characteristic analysis revealed the largest area under curve of 0.85 (95% confidence interval: 0.74–0.96), and the highest relative sensitivity (72.7%) and specificity (99.0%) for a cutoff value of 0.19 in the GRA7-ELISA. These results indicate that the GRA7-ELISA is suitable for detection of T. gondii infection in mink and that MAT should be used with caution. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

ABSTRACT This study introduces an ultrawideband unidirectional modified foursquare antenna. The antenna consists of two radiating loops and two truncated parasitic patches. A microstrip-to-stripline transition is used as a balun to feed the two radiating loops. A square cavity works as a reflector to realise a unidirectional radiation. This antenna has a total size of 0.56λL × 0.56λL × 0.15λL (λL: free space wavelength at lowest operating frequency). The measured results show that a broad operating bandwidth of 103.8% (2.67-8.44 GHz) for return loss being higher than 10 dB is achieved. Meanwhile, measured stable unidirectional radiation patterns with a gain (6.9-11.3 dBi) in +z direction, a front-to-back ratio better than 14.5 dB and low cross-polarization level (<−17 dB) are also obtained over the whole band. © 2015 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
