In recent years, blockchain technology has attracted substantial interest for its capability to transform supply chain management and finance. This paper employs evolutionary game theory to investigate the application of blockchain in mitigating financial risks within supply chains, taking into account the technology's maturity and the risk preferences of financial institutions. By modeling interactions among financial institutions, small and medium enterprises (SMEs), and core enterprises within the accounts receivable financing framework, this study evaluates blockchain's impact on their decision-making and its efficacy in risk reduction. Our findings suggest the transformative potential of blockchain in mitigating financial risks, solving information asymmetry, and enhancing collaboration between financial entities and SMEs. Additionally, we integrate smart contracts into supply chain finance, proposing pragmatic procedures for their deployment in real-world contexts. Via a detailed examination of blockchain's maturity and financial institutions' risk preferences, this research demonstrates the primary determinants of strategic decisions in supply chain finance and underscores how blockchain technology fosters system stability using risk mitigation. Our innovative contribution lies in the design of smart contracts for the ARF process, rooted in blockchain's core attributes of security, transparency, and immutability, thereby ensuring efficient operation and cost reduction in supply chain finance. 3. Analysis of the causes of severe side wear of the high rail on metro curves by numerical simulation and field investigation.

- Abstract
Two of the Shanghai metro lines suffered from severe side wear on the high rail, not only in sharp curves but also in large curves, and the service life of some rails on sharp curves was reduced by approximately 50% compared with the last rail replacement. Features and evolution rules for the rail side wear and the wheel flange wear were determined by field measurements and long-term monitoring. A rail wear prediction model, verified in our previous work, is used to reveal the influence of factors on rail wear. The results indicate that the poor lubrication condition at the rail gauge face is the main cause of severe side wear of the high rail, and the use of wheel profiles with low conicity and the loss of profile curvature of low rail profiles caused by the untimely maintenance also increase the side wear of the high rail. The service life of the high rail could be greatly extended by some countermeasures, such as repairing the worn shape of the low rail and repairing/improving the wayside lubrication system. In recent years, the outbreaks of viral diseases have urgently demanded effective virus disinfection techniques. Among them, the use of cold atmospheric‐pressure plasma (CAP) is one of the most promising approaches. CAP generates electric fields, charged particles, reactive oxygen and nitrogen species, and ultraviolet. CAP can effectively inactivate various viruses in a short period, whether they are on surfaces, in water, or in aerosols, without significantly raising the substrate temperature. This review highlights that the simultaneous action of physical and chemical means is the key mechanism of CAP in virus inactivation. It systematically summarizes the characteristics of plasma devices suitable for different application scenarios and further points out the opportunities and challenges faced by plasma virus inactivation technology. Due to the widespread use of lithium-ion batteries, evaluations of the flammability and explosive characteristics of carbon dust materials as anodes require attention. Carbon dust often reaches the micron/nano scale, and dust particle state and explosion risk generated in different industrial scenarios are different, which is in urgent need of research. Nanoscale dust has relatively static coagulation properties and shows characteristics of dispersion and reagglomeration under a certain airflow. The particle size characteristics affect its thermodynamic characteristics and various consequence parameters of dust explosion. The oxidation and combustion characteristics are mainly affected by dust particle size distribution characteristics. The apparent activation energy is mainly affected by the proportion of small and medium-sized particles and pre-exponential index factor is mainly affected by the dust overall average particle size and specific surface area. The explosion consequence parameters are affected by the thermodynamic parameters, by the disturbance state, particle distribution degree of dust cloud and other factors, which affect the heat radiation and heat transfer process to some extent resulting in different explosion consequence parameters. Due to the agglomeration characteristics of nano-level dust, the minimum ignition energy and minimum ignition temperature of nano-level dust are generally smaller than that of micron level dust. 8. Understanding and treatment of severe flange wear of metro train wheels.

Urban rail transit usually contains many small radius curved tracks, and wheel flange wear is prominent, which greatly reduces the service life and increases the maintenance and replacement costs of wheelsets. Two metro lines in Shanghai of China had suffered from severe flange wear since 2017, and the flange wear rate increased gradually over the next three years. This paper presents the understanding and treatment of severe flange wear through field measurement and numerical simulation. The investigation results indicated that the key factors causing severe flange wear were poor rail gauge face lubrication, the use of a low conicity wheel profile for trains running on the two metro lines containing many small radius curved tracks, and the lack of timely maintenance of low rail profiles. Three countermeasures were proposed to mitigate wheel flange wear, which were evaluated through wheel–rail matching analysis and wheel wear prediction. To overcome the thermodynamic and kinetic impediments of the Sabatier CO2 methanation reaction, the process must be operated under very high temperature and pressure conditions, to obtain an industrially viable conversion, rate, and selectivity. Herein, we report that these technologically relevant performance metrics have been achieved under much milder conditions using solar rather than thermal energy, where the methanation reaction is enabled by a novel nickel‐boron nitride catalyst. In this regard, an in situ generated HOB⋅⋅⋅B surface frustrated Lewis's pair is considered responsible for the high Sabatier conversion 87.68 %, reaction rate 2.03 mol gNi−1h−1, and near 100 % selectivity, realized under ambient pressure conditions. This discovery bodes well for an opto‐chemical engineering strategy aimed at the development and implementation of a sustainable 'Solar Sabatier' methanation process. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

To investigate the influence of the structural deformation of the wheelset and track on rail wear in the longitudinal and lateral directions, a rail wear prediction model is established that can calculate the three-dimensional distribution of rail wear. The difference between the multi-rigid-body dynamic model and the rigid-flexible coupled dynamic model, which considers the structural flexibility of the wheelset and track, is compared in terms of the three-dimensional distribution of rail wear. The results show that the three-dimensional distributions of rail wear predicted by the two models are relatively similar. There is no obvious difference in the wear band, and the rail wear in the longitudinal direction is almost identical. The cross sections of the worn rail shapes determined by the two models are essentially the same, with a maximum difference of 3.6% in the average value of the wear areas of all cross sections. The track irregularity is the main reason for the uneven distribution of rail wear in the longitudinal direction. The position where the rail wear is more pronounced hardly varies with the evolution of the rail wear. It is recommended to use a multi-rigid-body dynamic model for the prediction of rail wear, which allows both calculation accuracy and efficiency. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Let X, Y be two compact Hausdorff perfectly normal spaces (in particular, compact metrizable spaces), C(X) be the real Banach space of all continuous functions on X, and C + (X) be the positive cone of C(X). In this paper, we show that if there exists a δ -surjective ε -isometry F : C + (X) → C + (Y) , then X and Y are homeomorphic. Moreover, we show that there exists a unique additive surjective isometry V : C + (X) → C + (Y) (the restriction of a linear surjective isometry U : C (X) → C (Y) induced by the homeomorphism) such that ‖ F (f) - V (f) ‖ ≤ 2 ε , for all f ∈ C + (X).

14. A Bovine Viral Diarrhea Virus Type 1c Strain in China: Isolation, Identification, and Assessment of Pathogenicity in Rabbits.

- Abstract
Bovine viral diarrhea virus (BVDV) is an important animal pathogen and has a negative economic impact on cattle industries worldwide. In this study, the BVDV strain named BJ175170 was detected, isolated, and identified from cattle in Beijing, China, during herd screening by BVDV antigen-ELISA and indirect immunofluorescence assay (IFA). To investigate its genomic features, the characteristic 5′UTR region of the isolates were sequenced and BLAST analyzed. BVDV BJ175170 belongs to the BVDV-1c subtype, which differs from the Beijing prevalent BVDV strains. The BVDV particles were further observed by transmission electron microscopy (TEM). To evaluate the virulence of the BVDV BJ175170, the BVDV seronegative rabbits were intraperitoneally inoculated with the virus suspension. Blood samples were analyzed for changes in leukocyte number and antibody titer, and tissue samples were taken for histopathology analysis. These data confirmed again that rabbits could act as the reservoir of BVDV, which poses a small but non-zero risk of re-infection for BVDV-free cattle herds. To our knowledge, this is the first report of pathological changes in rabbits after exposure to BVDV-1c subtype, which could act as experimental reference. Meanwhile, the results of this study indicate that rabbits could act as a potential model for studying the mechanism of BVDV in vivo. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

15. Z. morio Hemolymph Relieves E. coli -Induced Mastitis by Inhibiting Inflammatory Response and Repairing the Blood–Milk Barrier.

Escherichia coli (E. coli) is a major environmental pathogen causing coliform mastitis, characterized by cell death and mammary tissue damage. Our previous study has shown the antimicrobial effect of Zophobas morio (Z. morio) hemolymph against mastitis pathogens. In this study, we established E. coli-induced cellular and animal models for mastitis, aiming to evaluate the protective effect of Z. morio hemolymph against E. coli-induced mastitis in vivo and in vitro. In mice with E. coli, Z. morio hemolymph attenuated bacterial burden and histopathological impairment, reduced the production of interleukin (IL)-1β, IL-18, tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α) and the ratio of CD4
+ T/CD8+ T, and increased the production of IL-2 triggered by E. coli. Z. morio hemolymph also enhanced the integrity of the blood-milk barrier in E. coli-induced mastitis. In E. coli-stimulated porcine mammary epithelial cells, Z. morio hemolymph inhibited E. coli-induced inflammatory responses and upregulated tight junction proteins (ZO-1, Claudin-3 and Occludin). Moreover, we found that the anti-inflammatory effect of Z. morio hemolymph was mediated by inhibiting E. coli-induced NLRP3 inflammasome assembly, Caspase-1 activation, and reversing the inhibitory effect of E. coli on autophagy. Besides, Z. morio hemolymph augmented ATG5/ATG16L1-mediated autophagy activation, negatively regulated NLRP3 inflammasome activation. Our results reveal that Z. morio hemolymph alleviates E. coli-induced mastitis via lessening the inflammatory response by regulating the NLRP3 and ATG5/ATG16L1 signaling pathway, as well as repairing the blood-milk barrier. Treating hazardous waste Ni from the electroplating industry is mandated world-wide, is exceptionally expensive, and carries a very high CO
2 footprint. Rather than regarding Ni as a disposable waste, the chemicals and petrochemicals industries could instead consider it a huge resource. In the work described herein, we present a strategy for upcycling waste Ni from electroplating wastewater into a photothermal catalyst for converting CO2 to CO. Specifically, magnetic nanoparticles encapsulated in amine functionalized porous SiO2 , is demonstrated to efficiently scavenge Ni from electroplating wastewater for utilization in photothermal CO2 catalysis. The core-shell catalyst architecture produces CO at a rate of 1.9 mol·gNi −1 ·h−1 (44.1 mmol·gcat −1 ·h−1 ), a selectivity close to 100%, and notable long-term stability. This strategy of upcycling metal waste into functional, catalytic materials offers a multi-pronged approach for clean and renewable energy technologies. The valorization of undesirable substrates offers a two-fold strategy for pollution remediation and renewable energy conversion. Bovine viral diarrhea virus (BVDV) is a critical animal pathogen that leads to cattle production losses associated with acute disease, immune dysregulation, reproductive failure, and respiratory disease. Due to the monotonous control technique and neglect of BVDV, increasing prevalence of BVDV has caused significant economic losses in the cattle industry worldwide. Therefore, novel anti-BVDV drugs are essential to prevent and control BVDV. Our previous studies have found that Forsythoside A (FTA) could inhibit the replication of BVDV via TRAF2-dependent CD28-4-1BB signaling in bovine peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs), but whether they can directly inhibit the BVDV remains unclear. Here, we further investigated the effects of FTA on BVDV and its underlying mechanisms of action. We found that FTA significantly inhibited the replication of BVDV in the MDBK cell directly. The results demonstrated that FTA could reduce the functional activation of Caspase-1 to inhibit the inflammatory response caused by BVDV infection and increase the expression of type I interferon (IFN-I) to clear the virus in vitro. The animal experiment was performed to evaluate the antiviral effect of FTA in vivo. Notably, after challenged with BVDV, mice with FTA + E
rns -E2 protein displayed alleviated pathological damage and decreased the viral load in the spleen compared with mice inoculated with Erns -E2 protein. Furthermore, treatment with FTA enhanced body defense and delayed infection by the BVDV. 18. A self-adaptive stochastic subgradient extragradient algorithm for the stochastic pseudomonotone variational inequality problem with application.

In this paper, we introduce a stochastic self-adaptive subgradient extragradient approximation algorithm for solving the stochastic pseudomonotone variational inequality problem. The new method uses a variable stepsize generated by the simple computation at each iteration. Contrary to many known algorithms, the resulting algorithm can be easily implemented without prior knowledge of the Lipschitz constant of the mapping, and also without any line search procedure. The convergence and convergence rate of the algorithm are shown. Some numerical examples are given to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm. Computation results show that our algorithm has the competitiveness over other related algorithms in the literature. Finally, we apply this algorithm to solve a traffic equilibrium problem. 19. Humping Formation and Suppression in High-Speed Laser Welding.

Increasing welding speed can promote the productivity of laser welding. However, humping defects often occur, which limits the application of this strategy. The existing explanations for the humping formation remain vague, and mitigation and suppression methods are limited. In this research, high-speed imaging experiments and numerical simulation of the high-speed laser welding process are performed. Through careful examination, the humping phenomenon is explained. At high welding speed, the high-speed melt flow caused by recoil pressure is hindered by the solidified region in the melt pool, leading to the occurrence of a swelling. The swelling then grows, forming a valley in front of the swelling under the effect of surface tension. The solidification of the valley results in the occurrence of a second swelling. This process repeats and humping defect forms. Marangoni force and viscous force also have influence on this process. In addition, it is found that adding a Tungsten Inert Gas arc behind the laser beam can effectively suppress the humping. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Cu‐based catalysts exhibit excellent performance in hydrogenation reactions. However, the poor stability of Cu catalysts under high temperatures has restricted their practical applications. The preparation of stable Cu catalysts supported by SiO2 with strong metal–support interaction (SMSI) has thus aroused great interest due to the high abundance, low toxicity, feasible processability, and low cost of SiO2. The challenge in the construction of such SMSI remains to be the inertness of SiO2. Herein, a simple and scalable method is developed to prepare 2D silica (2DSiO2) supported Cu catalysts with SMSI by carefully manipulating the topological exfoliation of CaSi2 with CuCl2 and thereafter calcination. The prepared Cu‐2DSiO2 catalysts with the unique encapsulated Cu nanoparticles exhibit excellent activity and long‐term stability in high‐temperature CO2 hydrogenation reactions. Spermatogonia are the source of spermatogenic waves. Abnormal spermatogonia can cause ab-normal spermatogenic waves, which manifest as spermatogenic disorders such as oligospermia, hypospermia, and azoospermia. Among them, the self-renewal of spermatogonia serves as the basis for maintaining the process of spermatogenesis, and the closely regulated balance between self-renewal and differentiation of spermatogonia can maintain the continuous production of spermatozoa. Tet methylcytosine dioxygenase 1(TET1) is an important epitope modifying enzyme that catalyzes the conversion of 5-methylcytosine (5-mC) to 5-hydroxymethylcytosine (5-hmC), thereby causing the methylation of specific genes site hydroxylation, enabling the DNA de-methylation process, and regulating gene expression. However, the hydroxymethylation sites at which TET1 acts specifically and the mechanisms of interaction affecting key differential genes are not clear. In the present study, we provide evidence that the expression of PLZF, a marker gene for spermatogonia self-renewal, was significantly elevated in the TET1 overexpression group, while the expression of PCNA, a proliferation-related marker gene, was also elevated at the mRNA level. Significant differential expression of SP1 was found by sequencing. SP1 expression was increased at both mRNA level and protein level after TET1 overexpression, while differential gene DAXX expression was downregulated at protein level, while the expression of its reciprocal protein P53 was upregulated. In conclusion, our results suggest that TET1 overexpression causes changes in the expression of SP1, DAXX and other genes, and that there is a certain antagonistic effect between SP1 and DAXX, which eventually reaches a dynamic balance to maintain the self-renewal state of spermatogonia for sustained sperm production. Aiming at the problem that the blasting vibration signal contains trend items and noise interference, a signal processing method based on the Fourier decomposition method (FDM) is introduced. Firstly, based on the FDM theory, the original blasting vibration signal is decomposed to obtain several modal components; then, the dominant component of the signal is filtered according to the dominant frequency of the modal component and its correlation with the original signal; finally, the dominant component is reconstructed to remove the trend item and noise at the same time; spectrum analysis is carried out to verify the effectiveness of the method. The results show that FDM can effectively disperse low-frequency trend items, high-frequency noise, and useful signal information while decomposing signals containing trend terms and noise; compared with the existing common methods, it can more effectively retain the original information, which provides a reference for the trend item and noise removal of similar blasting vibration signals. Cyclothianthrenes, a series of sulphur‐embedded hydrocarbon belts proposed a decade ago, were successfully constructed through a stepwise bottom‐up synthesis. The belt [6]cyclothianthrene ([6]CT) is the smallest and most strained member of the family yet reported. Both [6]CT and [8]CT are the first examples of cyclothianthrene characterized by single crystal X‐ray diffraction. An unprecedented chiral belt [7]CT and a Möbius‐shaped [9]CT were also achieved via modular synthesis. Crystallographic and computational studies show that belts [6]CT‐[8]CT have prism‐like conformations with well‐defined tubular cavities which have potential for guest molecule inclusion. Cyclic voltammograms further revealed that these belts are redox‐active. Two‐dimensional materials (2D M) possess unique structural, optical, and electronic properties in comparison with their bulk counterparts. Therefore, they have been demonstrated to be excellent performers for catalysis (especially photocatalysis). Among these 2D catalytic materials, 2D silicon (2D Si) is an emerging subclass, gifted with Si's high abundance, low toxicity, and strong light‐harvesting ability. Endowed with the universal advantages of 2D M including a large surface area, prolific active sites and loading positions for other elements, and ultrathin thickness for the generation of defects and transportation of photogenerated carriers, 2D Si exhibits additionally distinct surface chemistry and metal‐support interactions through geometrical assembly. Photothermal CO2 hydrogenation catalyzed by earth‐abundant materials, such as non‐noble metals, has emerged as an industrially viable and sustainable way of effectively converting solar energy into chemical energy stored in fuels and other valuable chemical feedstocks. However, the performance of existing non‐noble metal photocatalysts often suffers from incomplete sunlight utilization, limited photothermal effect, and poor stability under intense light illumination. Herein, the fabrication of all‐earth‐abundant on‐silicon architectures with nearly 100% sunlight harvesting ability is demonstrated. The cobalt‐loading‐optimized architecture exhibits a high photothermal CO2 conversion rate of 0.433 mol·gCo−1·h−1. A spatial confinement strategy based on surface encapsulation with a thin layer of silica is further used to improve the stability of supported Co nanoparticles against sintering. This strategy of maximizing the sunlight absorbance of non‐noble metal photocatalysts lays a foundation for industrial implementation of all‐earth‐abundant photothermal CO2 catalysis. Hoop-shaped or belt-like molecules have been fascinating not only due to their challenging synthesis, but also unique physical and chemical properties. The incorporation of heteroatoms (N, O, S, etc.) into these belts could alter both molecular structures and electronic properties which will lead to versatile applications, from advanced host-guest systems to functional materials. Despite numerous computational studies, the synthesis and characterization of heteroatom-bridged double-stranded molecular belts remains scarce. Here we report the synthesis, crystal structure, and host-guest chemistry of two novel heteroatom-bridged belt-like macrocycles composed of phenoxathiin. The bowl-shaped belt demonstrates a strong binding affinity (K
a = 3.6 × 109 M‒2 ) towards fullerene C60 and forms a 2:1 capsule-like complex with the aid of C‒H···S hydrogen bonds. The column-like belt can bind the cyclic guest [2,2]paracyclophane to form a ring-in-ring complex. The modular synthesis, structural specificity, and diverse host-guest chemistry of cyclophenoxathiins markedly expands the known chemistry of molecular belts. Heteroatom-bearing molecular loops and belts are fascinating but generally difficult to synthesize. Here, the authors demonstrate that O,S-bridged double-stranded molecular belts—cyclophenoxathiins—can be successfully constructed and employed as versatile supramolecular hosts. As an analogue to the vapor–liquid–solid process, the solution–liquid–solid (SLS) method offers a mild solution‐phase route to colloidal 1D nanostructures with controlled sizes, compositions, and properties. However, direct growth of 1D nanostructure arrays through SLS processes remains in its infancy. Herein, this study shows that SLS processes are also suitable for the growth of nanorod arrays on the substrate. As a proof of concept, seedless growth of silica nanorod arrays on a variety of hydrophilic substrates such as pristine and oxide‐modified glass, metal sheets, Si wafers, and biaxially oriented polypropylene film are demonstrated. Also, the silica nanorod arrays can be used as a new platform for the fabrication of catalysts for photothermal CO2 hydrogenation and the reduction of 4‐nitrophenol reactions. This work offers some fundamental insight into the SLS growth process and opens a new avenue for the mild preparation of functional 1D nanostructure arrays for various applications. Hemolysin-coregulated protein (Hcp) of Salmonella enteritidis is known to be a structural and effector protein of the T6SS, but little is known about the role of Hcp in host cells. In this study, Hcp was expressed by plasmid pEGFP-N1-hcp in BHK-21 cells and the results showed that the subcellular localization of Hcp was predominantly in the cytoplasm of BHK-21 cells. When Hcp was over-expressed by transfecting plasmid pCI-neo-hcp in BHK-21 cells and mRNA sequencing was performed to analyze differentially expressed genes, the results showed a change in the expression levels of 307 mRNAs (fold change > 2, and p < 0.01). Amongst these, 125 mRNAs were up-regulated and 182 mRNAs were down-regulated. Kyoto encyclopedia of genes and genomes (KEGG) enrichment analysis showed that differentially expressed genes were enriched in tumor necrosis factor (TNF) signaling pathway, IL-17 signaling pathway, and cytokine–cytokine receptor interaction. Subsequently, we selected differentially expressed genes of TNF signaling pathway and verified the changes by real-time PCR. The results were consistent with the trend observed for the sequencing results. In conclusion, we demonstrated that Hcp of Salmonella enteritidis caused the change of mRNAs expression of TNF signaling pathway in the cytoplasm of BHK-21 cells. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

A strong sunlight-absorptive ability and high dispersity are considered as two key requirements of supported metal catalysts for efficient photothermal CO
2 conversions. The former can be improved by increasing the metal loading but often at the expense of decreasing the latter. Here we develop an ion-exchange route to supported Ru nanoparticles with both high loadings and dispersity that exhibit enhanced activity and relatively good stability in photothermal CO2 catalysis. This strategy involves an ion-exchange reaction between Ru3+ and Mg-(OH)2 to form uniformly distributed and chemically bonded Ru precursors on Mg-(OH)2 supports. The subsequent low-temperature reduction by H2 produces highly dispersed Ru nanoparticles whose sizes barely change as the loading increases. Our study provides an avenue for the preparation of strongly light-absorptive and highly dispersed metal catalysts for efficient conversion of carbon dioxide into solar fuels. 3 O4 @SiO2 core–shell structured nanoparticles are promising candidates for adsorption of heavy metal ions from waste water due to their high adsorption capacities and feasible recycling process. However, their practical applications have been hindered by the trade-off between the magnetic separation efficiency and durability. In this study, we demonstrate the preparation of amino-functionalized Fe3 O4 @SiO2 absorbents with both high magnetic separation efficiencies and durability in strong acidic environment. Our key strategy was to use a thin but highly protective silica layer by manipulating the sol–gel chemistry. With the protection of a thin but poorly permeable silica shell, the durability of the Fe3 O4 in strong acid solution was significantly enhanced while its magnetic separation efficiency was maintained. We also demonstrated the adsorption of Cu2+ from aqueous solution corresponded well with the pseudo-second-order kinetic model and the Langmuir adsorption isotherm. The adsorption capacity can be further improved by coating an additional layer of mesoporous SiO2 outside Fe3 O4 @SiO2 . The design of highly durable magnetic absorbents without sacrificing the magnetic separation efficiency greatly facilitates the practical applications of magnetic nanoparticles in adsorption of heavy metal ions. Low angle target estimation is always a difficult problem for radar elevation estimation. Multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) radar can increase array degree of freedom and resolution, and improve the low angle target measurement precision. At the same time, the computation complexity of the MIMO radar is also increasing, especially for non-uniform linear array (ULA) configuration in which some fast algorithms cannot be used. In this paper, a fast low angle target estimation method is proposed for monostatic MIMO radar with arbitrary array configurations. With the array interpolation and the quasi-spatial-smoothing technique, the MIMO steering vector can be transformed into a virtual low dimension (typical similar size as the number of array elements) ULA steering vector. Then, the polynomial rooting algorithm is used to estimate the elevation of the low angle target. In this study, a novel oral vaccine of recombinant Lactobacillus plantarum (L. plantarum) containing the gp85 protein was explored, and the effects of this vaccine on the prevention of subgroup J Avian Leukosis Virus (ALV-J) infection were assessed. In the current study, the gp85 protein of ALV-J was expressed on the surface of L. plantarum with the surface-display motif, pgsA , by constructing a shuttle vector pMG36e:pgsA:gp85. Surface localization of the fusion protein was verified by western blotting and flow cytometry. Subsequently, Specific Pathogen Free Hy-Line Brown layer chickens were orally vaccinated with the recombinant L. plantarum and presented with high levels of serum immunoglobulin G (IgG) and secretory immunoglobulin A (sIgA) titers in bile and duodenal-mucosal fluid. After challenged with ALV-J of a 3 × 10
3 50% tissue culture infective dose (TCID50), serum samples of the chickens were collected and viremia was analyzed. Results showed that, compared to the L. plantarum and PBS control group, the recombinant L. plantarum group showed a significant rise in antibody levels after inoculation, and provide improved protection against ALV-J according to viremia detection. These results indicate that oral immunization with the recombinant L. plantarum provided an effective means for eliciting protective immune response against early ALV-J infection. High salinity is a major abiotic stressor that affects crop productivity and quality. While proper seedling growth is critical for crop reproduction under high salinity stress. Nowadays, genes/miRNAs expression is used for studying salinity stress response in rice seedlings. However, analysis of miRNA combined with gene expression is rare. To this end, we used miRNA-seq and gene expression profile to ascertain 6335 genes (3276 genes up-regulated, 3059 genes down-regulated) and 126 miRNAs (47 miRNAs up-regulated, 79 miRNAs down-regulated) that respond to salinity stress in rice seedlings. We then used these 126 miRNAs (including the novel miRNA osa-Chr12_1506) to identify 121 differentially expressed predicted target genes. In addition, we identified 34 miRNA-target RNA pairs, consisting of 9 differentially expressed miRNAs with complementary expression patterns. Combined with previous studies, we proposed a simple model for the molecular mechanism of a 12-h salinity stress response in rice seedlings. The findings lead to a deeper understanding of the function of miRNAs and genes that respond to salinity, and contributed to the elucidation of the complex mechanisms activated by salinity stress. Oxidative stress was induced in the chicken brains by chromium(VI). A total of 105 Hyland brown male chickens were randomly divided into seven groups, including the control group, poisoned group [6%LD KCrO body weight (B.W.)], and detoxification groups KCrO (6%LD) + Se (0.31, 0.63, 1.25, 2.50, and 5.00 NaSeO mg/kg B.W.) orally in water for 42 days. The chickens were detected by the activities of mitochondrial membrane potential, 2′-benzoyloxycinnamaldehyde, superoxide dismutase (SOD), malondialdehyde (MDA), glutathione (GSH), and Ca-ATPase. Cr(VI) administration caused histopathological damage. In addition, changes in oxidative stress indicators were observed in the chicken's brains. Se supplement increased the levels of GSH, mitochondrial membrane potential (MMP), and Ca-ATPase and reduced MDA activity in the detoxification groups. However, the high-dose Se supplementation groups of 2.50 and 5.00 mg/kg reduced the activities of GSH, MMP, and Ca-ATPase; increased the brain-body ratio; and increased SOD activity. In conclusion, Cr(VI) exposure caused oxidative stress. Se exerted a remission effect on toxic responses in the chicken brains. Palladium (Pd)-catalyzed selective hydrogenation of alkynes has been one of the most studied hydrogenation reactions in the last century. However, kinetic studies conducted to reveal the catalyst's active centers have been hindered because of dynamic surface changes on Pd during the reaction. In the present study, bimetallic Pd–Au nanoparticles supported on carbon nanotubes have been synthesized at room temperature as catalysts for selective hydrogenation of phenylacetylene, which show effectively enhanced selectivity compared to their monometallic counterparts. Structural and surface analyses of fresh and reacted catalysts reveal that selective hydrogenation of phenylacetylene is favored over nanosized Pd–Au bimetallic phases due to modifications in the Pd surface in terms of neighboring site isolation and electron density reduction. Plant defensins are small, basic, cysteine-rich peptides, belonging to the antimicrobial peptide superfamily, commonly found in the plant kingdom. In this study, we cloned and characterized a plant defensin gene from Jatropha curcas (JcDef). JcDef carried conserved receptor binding sites and a cysteine motif, and it was phylogenetically grouped together with defensin Ec-AMP-D2-like in Elaeis guineensis. JcDef is localized to cytoplasm and highly expressed in young tissues with fast metabolism such as cotyledons and stem apexes. Transgenic expression of JcDef in tobacco showed enhanced resistance against sheath blight disease caused by R. solani, indicating the antibacterial function. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Very recently, Fang (Fuzzy Sets Syst. 267:86-99, 2015) gave some fixed point theorems for probabilistic φ-contractions in Menger spaces. Fang's results improve the one of Jachymski (Nonlinear Anal. 73:2199-2203, 2010) by relaxing the restriction on the gauge function φ. In this paper, inspired by the results of Fang, we prove a new fixed point theorem for a probabilistic φ-contraction in Menger spaces in which a weaker condition on the function φ is required.
