Comprehensive Summary: Side‐chain engineering has emerged as a highly effective strategy for tailoring the aggregation behavior and charge transport properties of non‐fullerene small molecule acceptors (SMAs). In this study, we designed and synthesized two SMAs, namely BTPSi‐Bu and BTPSi‐Pr, respectively incorporating tributylsilyloxy and triisopropylsilyloxy groups in their outer positions. Notably, BTPSi‐Bu exhibited better planarity, crystallization, and favorable phase separation when paired with PM6 donor polymer compared to its counterpart, BTPSi‐Pr. The resulting organic solar cells, utilizing the PM6:BTPSi‐Bu blend, demonstrated a remarkable power conversion efficiency of 17.41% and a high open‐circuit voltage of 0.859 V. These findings underscore the significance of integrating trialkylsilyloxy side chains into SMAs as a rational design approach for enhancing the performance of photovoltaic systems. Eltrombopag combined with immunosuppressive therapy (IST) was superior to IST alone for severe aplastic anemia (SAA) in the previous studies. But in China, horse antithymocyte globulin (hATG) is not available, instead, we use rabbit ATG (rATG). Here, we compared the efficacy and safety of IST (rATG combined with cyclosporine) combined with or without eltrombopag for the first-line treatment of SAA and very severe aplastic anemia (VSAA). A total of 371 patients in ten institutions in China from April 1, 2017 to December 1, 2022 were enrolled. The overall response (OR) rate at 3 months (54.2% vs. 41%; P = 0.046), the complete response (CR) (31.3% vs. 19.4%; P = 0.041) and OR (78.3% vs. 51.1%; P < 0.0001) rates at 6 months were significantly higher with IST combined with eltrombopag than with IST alone in SAA patients. While in VSAA patients, the addition of eltrombopag to IST only increased the CR rate at 6 months (29.8% vs. 9.43%; P = 0.010). Liver injury increased significantly in groups treated with IST combined with eltrombopag (P < 0.05). Serious treatment-related toxicities were similar (P > 0.05). In patients with SAA, 3-year failure-free survival (FFS) of eltrombopag combined with IST group was significantly higher than that of IST group (70.7 ± 5.3% vs. 50.3 ± 3.9%; P = 0.007). In patients with VSAA, the addition of eltrombopag significantly improved 3-year overall survival (OS) (82.2 ± 5.7% vs. 57.3 ± 7.2%; P = 0.020). Our findings suggested that IST combined with eltrombopag could improve the hematological recovery of newly diagnosed SAA without increasing severe toxicities. But in VSAA, the addition of eltrombopag seemed to show no other improvement to efficacy except the CR rate at 6 months. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The scattering of flexural waves in piezoelectric thin plates with defects effects the electro-mechanical coupling property. Theoretical analysis for flexural waves is lack of a suitable decoupling function. Here, we have developed a method based on applied electric field to make a solution of the dynamic moment concentration factor (DMCF) for flexural waves scattering problems. The DMCFs of the piezoelectric materials have been found that it is significantly larger than those of the ordinary elastic materials because of electro-mechanical coupling. In the region of low frequency, DMCFs have a dependence on applied electric field and independent on the incident angle. Those opposite phenomena are observed as the frequency increasing. The screw conveyor is the key equipment used to realize the casting and forming of concrete in prefabricated components (PC), and its performance affects the PC shape, quality, and cost. In batch production, there is a process variable, the residence time. It is affected by the quality of the downstream vibration process. This also results in operating parameters that are difficult to match to the time scales. Eventually, it can lead to problems such as low casting efficiency or poor molded quality. In this paper, the DEM simulation method is used to explain and quantify the relationship between the screw conveying capacity and three important operating parameters: the screw's outer diameter, residence time, and screw speed. The axial and radial velocity vectors are used as features to analyze the changing rule of particle motion trajectory and mass flow rate. Based on the simulation data, the operating parameters and the mass flow rate are forward-fitted to establish the prediction model of the screw conveying capacity. In addition, the residence time is backward fitted from the screw speed and mass flow rate. It is used to estimate the concrete workability. This article discusses a rare case of plasma cell myeloma, a type of cancer, occurring after a bone marrow transplant. The patient, a 48-year-old male, developed the condition after receiving a stem cell transplant for acute myeloid leukemia. The cancer was found to be positive for the Epstein-Barr virus (EBV), and the patient was successfully treated with a combination of bortezomib, thalidomide, and dexamethasone. The treatment resulted in a very good partial response, and the patient has remained disease-free for over three years. Speed curve planning is one of the most important functions of automatic train operation (ATO). To improve the real‐time optimization capability and driver‐friendliness of the existing ATO, an extended ATO framework considering both automatic driving and assisted driving is designed. A multi‐objective optimization model based on quadratic programming is established considering energy‐saving, punctuality, and comfort. However, due to the influence of the weight of multi‐objectives, this method cannot directly obtain the speed curve satisfying the trip time constraint. Further, based on the analysis about the weight of multi‐objects, a time‐constrained quadratic programming algorithm is proposed. With the proposed method, the speed curve can be calculated in real‐time both before operations and during operations. For the former, time‐varying train mass and trip time are considered to guarantee an optimal solution. For the latter, deviations, delays, and maloperations on the way are corrected. Simulation experiments verify the solvability and real‐time performance of the proposed method. In particular, compared with the dynamic programming and (mixed‐integer linear programming) MILP method, the proposed method is more energy‐efficient and easier to be followed by the driver. Rolling can result in anisotropy in the microstructure and mechanical properties of the sheet material. This study focuses on the very high cycle fatigue (VHCF) performance of magnesium alloys in the rolling direction (RD), normal direction (ND), and the bisecting angle between the ND and RD (ND–RD). The findings reveal that RD specimens demonstrate superior fatigue performance, while the ND specimens exhibit the lowest fatigue resistance. During the crack initiation stage, the primary influential factor is the maximum shear stress. Due to c‐axis alignment with ND direction in grains, the deformation mode for ND and RD specimens primarily involves first‐order pyramidal slip, while ND–RD specimens primarily undergo basal slip and prismatic slip. In early stable crack propagation, grain size and texture cause variations in the morphology of the rough area among the three directional specimens. Notably, the RD specimens show faster crack propagation during crack initiation than early stable propagation stage. This article predicts bending very high cycle fatigue (VHCF) life of three typical nickel‐based alloys SM2550, BG2532, and G3 used for completion strings. Fatigue tests were conducted on the three alloys using an ultrasonic fatigue system at a frequency of 20 kHz. The results showed that the fatigue strength ranges of the three alloys were markedly different, reflecting their different sensitivities to fatigue loading. Scanning electron microscope observations revealed numerous fatigue crack origins with internal decohesion in the fatigue source region. To achieve unified prediction of the fatigue life for the three alloys, a prediction model based on deep learning was built with inputs including fatigue initiation quantity, cleavage facet size, and other fatigue fracture characteristics. It was found that single source feature was insufficient to obtain satisfactory prediction accuracy for all alloys, while multifeature coupling integration could significantly improve the prediction precision, enabling reliable prediction of alloy fatigue life. This study provides new insights into bending VHCF life prediction. The microstructure, mechanical properties, and high/very‐high cycle fatigue behaviors of 9Cr3W3Co turbine rotor steel and its welded joint were investigated. The welded nugget zone (WNZ) exhibited the highest microhardness value, followed by the heat‐affected zone (HAZ), while the base material (BM) showed the lowest hardness value. The WNZ exhibited a higher yield strength compared to the BM with reduced elongation, while maintaining similar ultimate tensile strength. The fatigue strength of the BM at 5 × 107 cycles is roughly 53.7% of the yield strength, whereas that of the WNZ increases to approximately 55.0%. In comparison to the fatigue strength of the BM at 5 × 107 cycles, the WNZ exhibits a notable increase of 10.5%. Smaller grain size and higher dislocation density were observed in the WNZ, which contributed to improved microhardness, yield strength, and fatigue resistance through grain boundary strengthening and dislocation hardening. The study aims to analyze the tensile behavior and microstructural changes in MAR‐M247 nickel‐based superalloy across different temperatures. Tensile behavior is examined under a constant strain rate of 2.5 × 10−4 s−1 at varying temperatures. Results indicate a temperature‐dependent nature of the alloy's tensile properties. At 550 °C, a Portevin–Le Chatelier effect is observed, attributed to twinning nucleation and carbon atom diffusion. Dynamic recrystallization occurs at 950 °C, manifesting in a sinusoidal stress–strain curve. At room temperature, the primary fracture mechanism involves dislocation shearing in the γ matrix, with minor dislocation shearing in the γ′ phase. At 550 °C, carbides along grain boundaries and the γ′ phase impede dislocation motion. Concurrently, dislocations shear the γ′ phase, leading to the formation of superlattice intrinsic stacking faults and Kear–Wilsdorf locks, thereby enhancing tensile strength. However, at 950 °C, dislocation motion primarily involves climb, carbides decompose, the γ′ phase softens and enlarges, resulting in a notable decrease in tensile strength. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The article presents a case study of an 18-year-old female diagnosed with chronic myeloid leukemia (CML) who rapidly progressed to the blast phase despite treatment with tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs). Topics discussed include the identification of recurrent fusion genes in CML-blast phase, their potential role in disease progression and drug resistance, and the need for further research to understand their prevalence and clinical implications.

Background: Evidence regarding the relationship between fasting blood glucose (FBG) and suicide attempts (SA) in patients with major depressive disorder (MDD) was limited. Therefore, the objective of this research was to investigate whether FBG was independently related to SA in Chinese patients with first-episode drug-naïve (FEDN) MDD after adjusting for other covariates. Methods: The present study was a cross-sectional study. A total of 1718 participants (average age: 34.9 ± 12.4 years, 65.8% females) with FEDN MDD were involved in a hospital in China from September 2016 to December 2018. Multiple logistic regression analysis and smooth curve fitting were used to estimate the association between FBG and the risk of SA. The threshold effect was examined by the two-piecewise linear regression model. Interaction and stratified analyses were conducted according to sex, education, marital status, comorbid anxiety, and psychotic symptoms. Results: The prevalence of SA in patients with FEDN MDD was 20.1%. The result of fully adjusted binary logistic regression showed FBG was positively associated with the risk of SA (odds ratio (OR) = 1.62, 95% CI: 1.13–2.32). Smoothing plots also revealed a nonlinear relationship between FBG and SA, with the inflection point of FBG being 5.34 mmol/l. The effect sizes and the confidence intervals on the left and right sides of the inflection point were 0.53 (0.32–0.88, P = 0.014) and 1.48 (1.04–2.10, P = 0.030), respectively. Conclusions: A U-shaped relationship between FBG and SA in FEDN MDD patients was found, with the lowest risk of SA at a FBG of 5.34 mmol/l, indicating that both the lower and higher FBG levels may lead to an increased risk of SA. This design imparts an extended molecular size, elevating the glass transition temperature (Tg) relative to their SMA counterparts. Consequently, it effectively suppresses the thermodynamic relaxation of the acceptor component when blended with polymer donors to construct stable polymer solar cells (PSCs). Despite their merits, the optimization of their chemical structure for further enhancing of device performance remains challenge. Different from previous reports utilizing p‐type linkers, here, we explore an n‐type linker, specifically the benzothiadiazole unit, to dimerize the SMA units via a click‐like Knoevenagel condensation, affording BT‐DL. In comparison with B‐DL with a benzene linkage, BT‐DL exhibits significantly stronger intramolecular super‐exchange coupling, a desirable property for the acceptor component. Furthermore, BT‐DL demonstrates a higher film absorption coefficient, redshifted absorption, larger crystalline coherence, and higher electron mobility. These inherent advantages of BT‐DL translate into a higher power conversion efficiency of 18.49 % in PSCs, a substantial improvement over the 9.17 % efficiency observed in corresponding devices with B‐DL as the acceptor. Notably, the BT‐DL based device exhibits exceptional stability, retaining over 90 % of its initial efficiency even after enduring 1000 hours of thermal stress at 90 °C. The mechanical soft–hard transition of hydrogels is desired in conditions‐adaptive deformation and mechanics reconfiguration applications. However, highly efficient, stimuli‐responsive, and reversible transition strategies are hard to achieve. Inspired by the supercooling of salt‐aqueous solutions, solid and supersaturated hydrogels are prepared based on a hydrophilic polymer network and salt‐aqueous solution. The inner crystallization‐ or melting‐induced reversible phase‐change realizes the switch between the soft hydrogel (modulus: 0.1 MPa) and rigid composite (modulus: 24.0 MPa). The soft and supersaturated hydrogels easily deform to achieve diverse new 3D models and the unfamiliar soft–hard transition makes temporary shapes be efficiently fixed (hardening). Interestingly, the initial hydrogel's shapes can be regenerated relying on the resilience of the polyacrylamide network when the crystal is melted (softening). Shape memory, complex surface morphology replication, rapid mold application, and self‐supporting laminated glass are accomplished by this unique crystallization‐melting introduced soft–hard transition. Bismuth titanate (BIT) is widely known as one of the most prospective lead‐free ferroelectric and piezoelectric materials in advanced high‐temperature sensing applications. Despite significant advances in developing BIT ferroelectrics, it still faces major scientific and engineering challenges in realizing super‐high performance to meet next‐generation high‐sensitivity and light‐weight applications. Here, a novel ferroelectric domain‐engineered BIT ceramic system is conceived that exhibits super‐high piezoelectric coefficient (d33 = 38.5 pC N−1) and inverse piezoelectric coefficient (d33* = 46.7 pm V−1) at low electric field as well as excellent fatigue resistance (stable up to 107 cycles). The results reveal that the introduction of high‐density layered (001)‐type 180° domain walls with flexible polarization rotation features and the formation of small‐size multi‐domain states with low energy barriers are mainly responsible for the excellent electrical performance. To the best of knowledge, it is the first time to reveal such intriguing domain structures in BIT ceramics in detail, especially from the atomic‐scale perspective by using atomic number (Z)‐contrast imaging in combination with atomic‐resolution polarization mapping. It is believed that this breakthrough conduces to comprehensively understand structural features of ferroelectric domains in BIT ceramics, and also opens a window for future developments of super‐high performance in bismuth layer‐structured ferroelectrics via domain engineering. Polymer solar cells (PSCs) rely on a blend of small molecular acceptors (SMAs) with polymer donors, where thermodynamic relaxation of SMAs poses critical concerns on operational stability. To tackle this issue, tethered SMAs, wherein multiple SMA‐subunits are connected to the aromatic‐core via flexible chains, are proposed. This design aims to an elevated glass transition temperature (Tg) for a dynamical control. However, attaining an elevated Tg value with additional SMA subunits introduces complexity to the molecular packing, posing a significant challenge in realizing both high stability and power conversion efficiency (PCE). In this study, we initiate isomer engineering on the benzene‐carboxylate core and find that meta‐positioned dimeric BDY‐β exhibits more favorable molecular packing compared to its para‐positioned counterpart, BDY‐α. With this encouraging result, we expand our approach by introducing an additional SMA unit onto the aromatic core of BDY‐β, maintaining a meta‐position relative to each SMA unit location in the tethered acceptor. This systematic aromatic‐core engineering results in a star‐shaped C3h‐positioned molecular geometry. The supramolecular interactions of SMA units in the trimer contribute to enhancements in Tg value, crystallinity, and a red‐shifted absorption compared to dimers. These characteristics result in a noteworthy increase in PCE to 18.24 %, coupled with a remarkable short‐circuit current density of 27.06 mA cm−2. More significantly, the trimer‐based devices delivered an excellent thermal stability with over 95 % of their initial efficiency after 1200 h thermal degradation. Our findings underscore the promise and feasibility of tethered trimeric structures in achieving highly ordered aggregation behavior and increased Tg value in PSCs, simultaneously improving in device efficiency and thermal stability. Poor mass transfer behavior and inherent activity limit the efficiency of traditional catalysts in electrocatalyzing carbon dioxide reduction reactions. However, the development of novel nanomaterials provides new strategies to solve the above problems. Herein, we propose novel single‐metal atom catalysts, namely diamane‐based electrocatalysts doped with Cu, Fe, and Ni, explored through density functional theory (DFT) calculations. We thoroughly investigated the doping pattern and energetics for different dopants. Furthermore, we systematically investigated the conversion process of CO2 to C1 or C2+ products, utilizing the free energy analysis of reaction pathways. Our results reveal that dopants could only be introduced into diamane following a specific pattern. Dopants significantly enhance the CO2 adsorption ability of diamane, with Fe and Ni proving notably more effective than Cu. After CO2 adsorption, Cu‐ and Fe‐doped diamane prefer to catalyze CO2RR, while Ni‐doped diamane favors hydrogen evolution reaction (HER). The C−C coupling reaction on Cu‐hollow diamane, Cu‐bridge diamane, and Fe‐hollow diamane tends to be from C2+ products. Among all examined catalysts, Cu‐hollow diamane shows better electro‐catalytic performance. Nanoindentation measurements were conducted to investigate the high-cycle response of 316L stainless steel in bending fatigue. Hardness variation owing to the gradient flexure stress amplitude for different curvatures was plotted along with the thickness and length, respectively. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) was subsequently conducted to explore the deformation characteristics in multiple layers, which had cyclic gradient stress, on the cross-section of specimens. The nanoindentation results indicated that the cyclic hardening response of 316L stainless steel is correlated with the level of stress amplitude in the high-cycle fatigue (HCF) regime. Furthermore, an analytical model was proposed to clarify the relationship between nanohardness and stress amplitude. Finally, the evolution of damage accumulation due to irreversible plastic deformation is continuous during stress reduction up to the neighboring zone at the neutral surface of the flexure beam in some individual grains. As a chemical product with rapidly expanding demand in the field of modern energy and environmental applications, hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) has garnered widespread attention. However, the existing industrial production of H2O2 is plagued by high energy consumption, harmful waste emission, and severe safety issues, making it difficult to satisfy the environmental/economic production concept. Artificial photosynthesis offers a viable strategy for green and sustainable H2O2 production since it uses sunlight as an energy source to initiate the reaction of oxygen and water to produce H2O2. Among various photocatalysts, covalent organic frameworks (COFs), featuring highly ordered skeletons and well‐defined active sites, have emerged as promising photocatalysts for H2O2 production. This review presents the nascent and burgeoning area of photocatalytic H2O2 production based on COFs. First, a brief overview of photocatalytic technology is provided, followed by a detailed introduction to the principles and evaluation of the photocatalytic H2O2 generation. Subsequently, the latest research progress on the judicious design of COFs for H2O2 photosynthesis is expounded, with a particular emphasis on manipulating the electronic structures and redox active sites. Finally, an outlook on the challenges and future opportunities is proposed, in the hope of stimulating further explorations of novel molecular‐designed COFs for sustainable photosynthesis. Weak adsorption of gas reactants and strong binding of intermediates present a significant challenge for most transition metal oxides, particularly in the realm of CO2 photoreduction. Herein, we demonstrate that the adsorption can be fine‐tuned by phase engineering of oxide catalysts. An oxygen vacancy mediated topological phase transition in Ni‐Co oxide nanowires, supported on a hierarchical graphene aerogel (GA), is observed from a spinel phase to a rock‐salt phase. Such in situ phase transition empowers the Ni‐Co oxide catalyst with a strong internal electric field and the attainment of abundant oxygen vacancies. Weak adsorption of gas reactants and strong binding of intermediates present a significant challenge for most transition metal oxides, particularly in the realm of CO2 photoreduction. Herein, we demonstrate that the adsorption can be fine‐tuned by phase engineering of oxide catalysts. An oxygen vacancy mediated topological phase transition in Ni‐Co oxide nanowires, supported on a hierarchical graphene aerogel (GA), is observed from a spinel phase to a rock‐salt phase. Such in situ phase transition empowers the Ni‐Co oxide catalyst with a strong internal electric field and the attainment of abundant oxygen vacancies. Background: The incidence of stroke in China ranks first in the world and is the leading cause of death and disability in adults. Urinary incontinence is an independent risk factor leading to poor prognosis of stroke. However, studies on the incidence of urinary incontinence in stroke patients and its influencing factors are different, fluctuate greatly, and there is no unified basis. Objective: To quantitatively analyze the incidence of urinary incontinence in stroke patients and its related influencing factors, and further make public health strategic decisions to reduce the occurrence of adverse outcomes. Methods: Computer searches were conducted in PubMed, Medline, Web of Science, Cochrane Library, Embase, CLNAHL Complete, China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI), Chinese Biomedical database(CBM), Wan Fang Database, VIP Database, observational studies such as cohort studies, case‐control studies or cross‐sectional studies on the incidence or influencing factors of urinary incontinence in stroke patients from the establishment of the database to the publication in August 2023. Studies selection, quality evaluation and data extraction were conducted independently by two researchers according to the established search strategy. Stata 14.0 statistical software was used for meta‐analysis. Results: A total of 21 manuscripts were included, with a cumulative sample size of 7327 cases, including 2887 patients with urinary incontinence. Meta‐analysis results showed that the incidence of urinary incontinence in stroke patients was 38% [95% confidence interval (34%, 41%)], including married patients and lacunar infarction were the protective factors for urinary incontinence in stroke patients, while age, chaperone, low educational level, chronic cough, lesion sites (parietal lobe, frontal lobe, and temporal lobe), stroke type (cerebral hemorrhage, subarachnoid hemorrhage and cerebral hemorrhage complicated with subarachnoid hemorrhage), dysfunction (aphasia dyslexia, dysphagia, eye movement abnormalities, leg muscle disorders), post‐stroke depression, the higher the NIHSS score, the lower the Bachmann index (BI) score, OCSP classification (total anterior circulation infarction) and other 11 items were risk factors for urinary incontinence in stroke patients. Conclusion: The incidence of urinary incontinence in stroke patients is 38%. Marriage and lacunar infarction are the protective factors of urinary incontinence. This article explores the metabolic heterogeneity of acute myeloid leukemia (AML) at the single-cell level. Calcium hexaluminate (CA6) porous ceramics were prepared by foaming and pore-forming agent methods, with Al2O3 and calcium aluminate cement (CAC) as raw materials and magnesium aluminum spinel hollow spheres (MASHSs) as pore-forming agent. The effects of the amount of magnesium aluminum spinel hollow sphere on the phase composition, bulk density, apparent porosity, flexural strength, microstructure, and thermal conductivity of CA6-based porous ceramics were systematically studied. The pores of such porous ceramics are mainly formed by the enhanced amount of MASHSs and the generation of CA6 phase. The results demonstrate that with the elevation of MASHSs content, the microstructure of the samples transforms from a uniform distribution of closed pores to an interconnected micro-pore arrangement. Notably, the fracture paths transition from cohesive to interfacial interactions between MASHSs. This intricate interplay culminates in a remarkable outcome – our ceramics exhibit thermal conductivities ranging from 0.210 to 0.451 W/(m/k), an augmented gas permeability of 25.96 × 10−11m2, and exceptional compressive strengths reaching up to 22.3 MPa. Overall, this study provides insights into the influence of MASHSs content on the microstructure and thermal-mechanical properties of porous materials, which may contribute to the development of advanced ceramic materials with tailored properties. Purpose: The purpose of this paper is to determine the ultra-high cycle fatigue behavior and ultra-slow crack propagation behavior of selective laser melting (SLM) AlSi7Mg alloy under as-built conditions. Design/methodology/approach: Constant amplitude and two-step variable amplitude fatigue tests were carried out using ultrasonic fatigue equipment. The fracture surface of the failure specimen was quantitatively analyzed by scanning electron microscope (SEM). Findings: The results show that the competition of surface and interior crack initiation modes leads to a duplex S–N curve. Both manufacturing defects (such as the lack of fusion) and inclusions can act as initially fatal fatigue microcracks, and the fatigue sensitivity level decreases with the location, size and type of the maximum defects. Originality/value: The research results play a certain role in understanding the ultra-high cycle fatigue behavior of additive manufacturing aluminum alloys. This study investigated the high cycle fatigue crack initiation and propagation behaviors in coarse‐grained FeCrAl alloys, with a focus on the relationship between the path of small cracks and the local microstructure. The results show that the small cracks initiate along the {100} slip plane due to the synthetical influence of local microstructure and shear stress. The initiation zone forms inclined areas with layered fine‐grain areas caused by cyclic shear stress. Quantitative analysis of the stress intensity factor (SIF) indicates that in the realm of mixed‐mode loading, the SIF of Mode I takes the lead in determining the intensity of stress and strain fields at the crack tip. As the crack propagates further, the SIF steadily increases. Once it reaches a specific threshold, the propagation mode within a coarse grain shifts from Mode II to Mode I. Moreover, fatigue life increases with a tendency for decreased SIF during crack deflection. A novel controller, employing a variable-structure single-neuron adaptive PSD (proportional integral derivative) approach, was proposed for regulating the deposition width variation in the Directed Energy Deposition-Arc (DED-Arc) layer. During experimental trials, the deposition speed was chosen as the manipulated variable, while the width of the deposition layer served as the measured parameter. To facilitate controller design, a vision sensor was custom-designed to accurately detect the width of the deposition layer. The captured image of the deposition layer's dimensions enabled the precise determination of the deposited thickness, forming the basis for subsequent controller development. In performance assessments, deliberate interference was intentionally introduced into the deposition current, deposition layer height, and the targeted deposition layer width. The assessment involved the controlled deposition of ten-layer components, focusing on width regulation for each deposition layer. The results demonstrate that the proposed controller significantly enhances the deposition process stability, particularly within a range of desired deposition widths from 7.5 mm to 8.3 mm. In urban railway systems, the timetable guides the section operation of the single train and the arrangement of the train group to meet the dual needs of cost and passengers. This paper proposes a two‐objective train operation optimization based on eco‐driving and timetabling to restore a more realistic scene, including a method level and an objective level. For the method level, the speed curve optimization of the single train and the timetable optimization of the train group are adopted jointly. For the objective level, both the total energy consumption of the train group and the consuming time of passengers are considered. A hybrid solution strategy based on quadratic programming and improved artificial bee colony algorithm is proposed. A hardware‐in‐the‐loop platform is built to carry out validation experiments. Both the cases in general hours and special hours are verified based on the actual data from Beijing Metro Line 15. The results show that both the energy consumption and the passenger consuming time are reduced simultaneously. Lightning‐induced nitrogen oxides (LNOx) can affect ozone (O3) through photochemical processes. However, the impact of LNOx on the Tibetan Plateau (TP) O3 valley, an area with a lower O3 column compared to surrounding areas, remains controversial. Prior to this study, the impact of monsoonal transport on LNOx and related effects on the TP O3 valley has been overlooked. The objectives of this study are to differentiate between locally generated LNOx and monsoon‐transported LNOx over the TP and to evaluate their impacts on tropospheric NOx vertical column density, tropospheric column O3, and O3 at different altitudes. The Weather Research and Forecasting model coupled with Chemistry model was used to replicate LNOx, NOx, and O3 over the TP during July 2010, for which nesting techniques and sensitivity experiments were implemented. The findings emphasize the importance of LNOx as a source of NOx in this region, with nonlocal lightning activity being the primary source. Conversely, the influence of locally generated LNOx on NOx levels over the TP is comparatively minor. Overall, LNOx contributes to an increase in O3 over the TP, but one order lower than the O3 depletion. The impact of LNOx on O3 varies across different altitude ranges; it is broadly "C" shaped, reflecting increase in O3 at near‐surface and in upper troposphere–lower stratosphere (UTLS) regions and decrease in the middle troposphere. The increase in surface‐level O3 over the TP is mainly caused by monsoon‐transported LNOx, while locally generated LNOx also plays a crucial role in O3 formation in the UTLS region. Purpose: The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of nano ZrC particles on the mechanical and electrochemical corrosion properties of FeCrAl alloys, providing a beneficial reference basis for the development of high-performance carbide reinforced FeCrAl alloys with good mechanical and corrosion properties in the future. Design/methodology/approach: Nano ZrC reinforced FeCrAl alloys were prepared by mechanical alloying and spark plasma sintering. Phases composition, tensile fractography, corrosion morphology and chemical composition of nano ZrC reinforced FeCrAl alloys were analyzed by X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy and energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy, respectively. Microhardness and tensile properties of nano ZrC reinforced FeCrAl alloys were investigated by mechanical testing machine and Vickers hardness tester. Electrochemical corrosion properties of nano ZrC reinforced FeCrAl alloys were investigated by electrochemical workstation in 3.5 wt.% NaCl solution. Findings: The results showed that addition of nano ZrC can effectively improve the mechanical and corrosion properties. However, excessive nano ZrC could decrease the mechanical properties and reduce the corrosion resistance. In all the FeCrAl alloys, FeCrAl–0.6 wt.% ZrC alloy exhibits the optimum mechanical properties with an ultimate tensile strength, elongation and hardness of 990.7 MPa, 24.1% and 335.8 HV1, respectively, and FeCrAl–0.2 wt.% ZrC alloy has a lower corrosion potential (−0.179 V) and corrosion current density (2.099 µA/cm2) and larger pitting potential (0.497 V) than other FeCrAl–ZrC alloys, showing a better corrosion resistance. Originality/value: Adding proper nano ZrC particles can effectively improve the mechanical and corrosion properties, while the excessive nano ZrC is harmful to the mechanical and corrosion properties of FeCrAl alloys, which provides an instruction to develop high-performance FeCrAl cladding materials. High‐resolution X‐ray imaging is increasingly required for medical diagnosis and large‐area detection. However, the issues of scattering and optical crosstalk are limiting the spatial resolution of the indirect X‐ray imaging. In this study, a feasible and efficient strategy is proposed to in situ synthesize flexible Cs3Cu2I5:2%In+@paper as a superior scintillator film, which can be scaled up to an ultra‐large area of 4800 cm2. The as‐obtained Cs3Cu2I5:2%In+@paper performs a fascinating photoluminescence quantum efficiency up to 88.14%, a steady state light yield of 70169 photons/MeV, and spatial resolution of 15 lp mm−1. Moreover, the suppressed physical scattering and optical crosstalk of the corresponding film are demonstrated. Thermal disturbance deteriorates the radiative transitions of up‐conversion phosphor, leading to decreased emission intensity at high operation temperatures. In this work, a thermal‐favored Yb3+/Nd3+ co‐doped KGaGeO4 up‐conversion phosphor with a negative thermal quenching behavior is explored. The as‐developed phosphor performs a one‐photon anti‐Stokes emission and exhibits a remarkable enhancement for the rise of ambient temperature reaching 653 K. It is demonstrated that the fascinating thermal behavior of the up‐conversion procedure is attributed to the enhanced energy transfer from the corresponding sensitizers to the activators by phonon assistance. Moreover, the microscopic dynamical process of phonon assistance and annihilation is revealed by introducing Er3+ ions as a probe. These results not only shed light on the phonon‐assisted strategy to build a highly efficient anti‐Stokes emission system but also open prospects for constructing phonon‐favored transitions with nonthermally coupled emissions to realize luminescence thermometry for their distinct thermal responsivity. Mechanoluminescence (ML) materials are capable of converting applied stress into luminescent signals, and offer fascinating potential applications in biomedicine, safety testing, structural diagnosis, and mechanical sensing. Color‐responsive ML sensing, combined with quantitative evaluation of loaded stress, is preferred for visual description and sensing reliability. In this work, Yb2+ and Mn2+ ions co‐doped MgF2 with a fascinating ratiometric ML performance are successfully explored. ML color can be manipulated based on the distinct stress‐dependent ML intensity of the activators. Furthermore, a self‐activated orange persistent ML is observed even after the removal of the mechanics stimuli, allowing a delayed stress sensing with the memorized optical signals. Accordingly, a visualized stress sensing with the as‐explored ML composites using the ultraviolet curing 3D printing technique is demonstrated for structural mechanics. Herein, a feasible optical description of the loaded stress distribution in space for objects free from concerns with dimensions and geometrical shapes can be realized, benefiting the study of 3D structural mechanics, especially for complex structures. Elementally-doped graphene demonstrates remarkable gas sensing capabilities as a novel 2D sensor material. In this study, we employed density functional theory calculations, we investigated the impact of various dopants on the BTEX (benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, and xylene) sensing performance of graphene. Through the systematic analysis of electronic structures and sensitivity, we observed that both the doping method and dopant type significantly influence the interactions between graphene and BTEX molecules. Out of the 22 different elemental doped graphenes studied, N-, O-, and Pd-doped graphenes emerged as promising candidates for BTEX sensor materials. Graphene with N-doping exhibited relatively higher sensitivity towards toluene, ethylbenzene, and xylene compared to O- and Pd-doped graphenes. However, it demonstrated low sensitivity towards benzene. On the other hand, O-doped graphene displayed excellent selectivity for ethylbenzene over the other three gas molecules (benzene, toluene, and xylene). Similarly, Pd-doped graphene also exhibited significant selectivity for ethylbenzene and possessed higher sensitivity than the O-doped graphene. The development of machine learning (ML) provides a promising solution to guarantee the structural integrity of critical components during service period. However, considering the lack of respect for the underlying physical laws, the data hungry nature and poor extrapolation performance, the further application of pure data-driven methods in structural integrity is challenged. An emerging ML paradigm, physics-informed machine learning (PIML), attempts to overcome these limitations by embedding physical information into ML models. This paper discusses different ways of embedding physical information into ML and reviews the developments of PIML in structural integrity including failure mechanism modelling and prognostic and health management (PHM). The exploration of the application of PIML to structural integrity demonstrates the potential of PIML for improving consistency with prior knowledge, extrapolation performance, prediction accuracy, interpretability and computational efficiency and reducing dependence on training data. The analysis and findings of this work outline the limitations at this stage and provide some potential research direction of PIML to develop advanced PIML for ensuring structural integrity of engineering systems/facilities. In the present study, a physics-informed neural network model based on Bayesian hyperparameter optimization is proposed for the prediction of short crack growth paths. A large number of cyclic loadings at a lower amplitude were applied to an α titanium sample by an ultrasonic fatigue machine to ensure a sufficient amount of data for machine learning. The grain size, grain orientation and grain boundary direction on the path, as well as crack growth direction, were selected as feature data for training the prediction model. The optimizations of the size ratio and the angle operation were conducted to compare different data processing methods, respectively. After evaluation, eventually, a model for predicting crack growth path is obtained with a reliable performance of 10% tolerance on the path angle at each grain boundary. And the prediction effect of the proposed model is better than that of some classic machine learning models and slip trace analysis. During steam turbine rotor operation, the startup and showdown processes can cause asymmetric loading stress, leading to fatigue damage. To research the cyclic deformation behavior and fatigue failure mechanisms of 9% Cr‐based steel under asymmetric loading conditions, the strain ratios including −1, 0, and 0.1 are introduced into the low cyclic fatigue tests at 430°C. The results show the cyclic softening behavior is observed under three strain ratios at 430°C. As the strain ratio increases, the crack initiation sources, plastic strain, and consumed energy present an increasing trend. Comparing the microstructure morphology at different strain ratios, the coarsening lath and carbides affect fatigue crack initiation. Besides, the grain rotation and dynamic recrystallization can be observed, resulting in the cyclic softening behavior during the fatigue test. Finally, a new fatigue life prediction model is proposed at 430°C. The behavior of small cracks in magnesium alloy is key to understanding very high cycle fatigue (VHCF), which is influenced by microstructure and deformation mechanism. This study explores how basal texture affects VHCF failure mechanisms in extruded magnesium alloys. Findings reveal that faceted and rough morphologies characterize fracture surfaces during crack initiation and early propagation, respectively. Basal texturing inhibits basal slipping during faceted‐like crack initiation while compression twinning dominates deformation during early propagation, contributing to rough zones. Stress intensity factor and plastic zone size analysis indicates significant influence of basal texture on VHCF failure mechanisms but with limited effect on stable propagation. Background: Metastasis is a key feature of malignant tumors and significantly contributes to their high mortality, particularly in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). Therefore, it is imperative to explore the mechanism of tumor metastasis. Recently, tumor-associated macrophages (TAMs) have been demonstrated to promote tumor progression, while TAM-derived molecules involved in HCC metastasis warrant further investigation. Methods: THP-1 was treated with IL-4 (Interleukin-4) and IL-13 (Interleukin-13) for M2 polarized macrophages. Exosomes derived from M2 macrophages were characterized. Then, HCC cells or human umbilical vein endothelial cells (HUVECs) were co-cultured with M2 macrophages or treated with M2 macrophage-secreted exosomes. Next, Transwell®, Scratch assay, tube formation, and endothelial permeability assays were performed. Moreover, RT-PCR, western blotting, immunofluorescence, and ELISA were used to assess mRNA and protein expression levels. Finally, the miRNA expression profiles of exosomes derived from M2 and M0 macrophages were analyzed. Results: M2 macrophage infiltration was correlated with metastasis and a poor prognosis in HCC patients. M2-derived exosomes were absorbed by HCC and HUVEC cells and promoted the epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT), vascular permeability, and angiogenesis. Notably, MiR-23a-3p levels were significantly higher in M2-derived exosomes and hnRNPA1 mediated miR-23a-3p packaging into exosomes. Phosphatase and tensin homolog (PTEN) and tight junction protein 1 (TJP1) were the targets of miR-23a-3p, as confirmed by luciferase reporter assays. Lastly, HCC cells co-cultured with M2-derived exosomes secreted more GM-CSF, VEGF, G-CSF, MCP-1, and IL-4, which in turn further recruited M2 macrophages. Coupling effects of fretting wear and cyclic stress could result in significant fatigue strength degradation, thus potentially causing unanticipated catastrophic fractures. The underlying mechanism of microstructural evolutions caused by fretting wear is ambiguous, which obstructs the understanding of fretting fatigue issues, and is unable to guarantee the reliability of structures for long-term operation. Here, fretting wear studies were performed to understand the microstructural evolution and oxidation behavior of an α/β titanium alloy up to 108 cycles. Contact surface degradation is mainly caused by surface oxidation and the generation of wear debris during fretting wear within the slip zone. The grain size in the topmost nanostructured layer could be refined to ∼40 nm. The grain refinement process involves the initial grain rotation, the formation of low angle grain boundary (LAGB; 2°–5°), the in-situ increments of the misorientation angle, and the final subdivision, which have been unraveled to feature the evolution in dislocation morphologies from slip lines to tangles and arrays. The formation of hetero microstructures regarding the nonequilibrium high angle grain boundary (HAGB) and dislocation arrays gives rise to more oxygen diffusion pathways in the topmost nanostructured layer, thus resulting in the formation of cracking interface to separate the oxidation zone and the adjoining nanostructured domain driven by tribological fatigue stress. Formation of the multipolar charge structure during feeder-type cell merging has important consequences in severe convective weather. This study used the Weather Research and Forecasting model with electrification and discharge parameterization schemes to simulate the feeder-type cell merging process in the tail of a squall line that occurred on 27 June 2020 in Hubei Province (China). The results showed that the two cells involved in the merging process were at different life stages, but that the distribution of the inductive charging zones in the parent and child cells was broadly the same as that of the non-inductive charging zones. The charging zones were restricted to the mixed-phase region (between the 0 and −40 °C layers) with a cloud water content of >0.2 g/kg in the updraft zone, and the magnitude of the inductive charging rate was slightly smaller than that of the non-inductive charging rate. The differences in the vertical wind shear between the parent and child cells caused differences in the content, charge number, and polarity of the hydrometeors, which resulted in obvious differences in the charge structure characteristics between the two cells. Overall, the cloud droplets, ice, snow, and graupel were the main charged hydrometeors in the cells, whereas the rain and hail had little charge. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
