Abstract

The article reports on HIV/AIDS prevention in the United States among injection drug users. Interviews were conducted among non HIV infected drug users in Baltimore, Maryland. The impact of prevention interventions on risk behavior is analyzed. A discussion of drug users' high HIV transmission rates and the public health efforts to control HIV/AIDS within this high risk group is presented. The study methodology and subject demographics are covered. A primary question involves the affect HIV/AIDS has had on the respondent.
