The purpose of this study is to examine the sense of school belonging and sportspersonship behaviors of students who participate in traditional children's games. The research was designed using a quasi-experimental model with a pre-test and post-test control group and was conducted over a period of 16 weeks. The study group consisted of a total of 1871 students, including 1379 middle school and 492 high school students, continuing their education in Eskil, Aksaray during the 2023–2024 academic year. The experimental group students participated in the games and inter-school tournaments within the scope of the "2nd I Live My Values with Traditional Games Project" No intervention was applied to the control group after the introduction of the games. The "School Belongingness Scale" and the "Physical Education Course Sportspersonship Behavior Scale" were used as data collection tools. For data analysis, MANOVA, paired samples t-test, and regression analysis were employed. The findings of the study indicated that both the experimental and control groups showed positive scores in pre-test and post-test measures of school belongingness and sportspersonship behaviors. However, the experimental group demonstrated significant improvements in their sense of school belonging and sportspersonship behaviors in favor of the post-test. While no significant change was observed in the control group's sense of school belonging, a decline was noted in their sportspersonship behaviors. The experimental group exhibited greater development in school belongingness and sportspersonship behaviors compared to the control group. Although middle school students showed improvements in their sense of school belonging, high school students experienced a more substantial emotional development. No significant differences were found in school belongingness and sportspersonship behaviors based on the students' gender. Sportspersonship behavior predicted school belongingness by 11%, suggesting that positive sportspersonship behaviors increased school attachment among children. In conclusion, it was determined that students participating in traditional children's games developed a more positive sense of school belonging and sportspersonship behaviors over time. Based on the positive outcomes of student participation in traditional games, it is recommended to promote these games, incorporate them into physical education classes, and increase participation in tournaments. This research aimed to determine the opinions of teachers who participated in the "I Live My Values with Traditional Games Project (ILMVTGP)" in the 2nd semester of the 2022-2023 academic year regarding the role of traditional children's games (TCG) in education. In the study, phenomenological research design, one of the qualitative research methods, was used. The study group consisted of 17 teachers in total, including 12 primary school teachers and 5 physical education teachers who participated in ILMVTGP in Aksaray/Eskil. Criterion sampling method was used to determine the participants and focus group interviews were held with the participants. Content analysis was performed to evaluate the data collected with the semi-structured interview form. According to the research findings, four themes were determined: "development", "cultural bridge", "value transfer" and "educational tool". Teachers participating in ILMVTGP stated that TCG supports the holistic development of students and that physical development is especially at the forefront. Traditional games serve as an important cultural bridge in transferring our culture to future generations. The role of traditional games in transferring the values of respect, love, helpfulness, honesty, friendship, and tolerance inherent in our culture was emphasized by teachers. Attention has been drawn to the role of traditional games in transferring physical education lesson achievements, and especially psychomotor achievements, to students. It was stated that students' love for school and motivation to learn increased, their negative behaviors decreased and their academic success increased. As a result of the research; It has been determined that the use of TCG in education serves the purposes of the physical education course curriculum and has a positive impact on children in terms of holistic development, culture, and value transfer. Artificial Intelligence (AI) is a concept that has been a subfield of computer science since the 1950s. In recent years, with its growing development power, AI technologies have made significant progress and are now being used in many fields. Like in all areas, the use of AI technologies in academia has provided convenience to academics while also bringing ethical debates. In the literature part of the study, concepts such as AI, academia, academics and academic progress, ethics, ethical theories, academic ethics, and emotional states have been thoroughly examined and defined. In this study, starting from AI and scientific ethics, ethical issues arising from emotional states in academic research have been identified, and concrete solutions to these ethical issues have been proposed. The aim is to discuss the views of academics in order to determine what types of scientific ethical violations and prevention methods are involved. In this context, the semi-structured interview technique, which is one of the qualitative research methods, was preferred as the method. In the study, in-depth semi-structured interviews were conducted with 4 ethics experts and 4 psychology experts selected through snowball sampling technique. The data obtained through semi-structured in-depth interviews will be analyzed using content analysis. Within the context of the literature review and interviews: Ethics is based on the foundation of acting correctly. In this context, scientific ethics can be summarized as acting truthfully and honestly, not distorting data, and not trying to progress unfairly. The use of AI in academia is becoming increasingly widespread. From a positive perspective, this usage significantly contributes to making studies more practical. However, it can lead to problems such as unfair authorship, devaluation of human authorship, and incorrect data. The connection between academics' professional advancement goals and emotional states becomes prominent in this context. The potential of AI to facilitate progression can lead to unethical use. To prevent such situations, it is recommended to organize training sessions to increase professional awareness, internalize ethics personally, establish ethical committees specific to the field of AI, conduct more effective audits by academic publication and promotion committees, and implement specific regulations for AI. Finally, for future academic studies, it is suggested that the usage of AI in academic research be measured and evaluated by ethics experts. This research aimed to examine the value perceptions and attitudes of secondary school students towards physical education and sports lessons. The research, which was designed in a quasi-experimental model with a pretest-posttest control group, was conducted with 91 7th-grade students in the second semester of the 2020-2021 academic year. The students were divided into 4 groups according to the course content applied in the physical education lesson: "Sports Education Model (SEM)", "Physical Activity Card (PAC)", "Traditional Children's Games (TCG)" and "Control Group (CG)". Physical education lessons were carried out with the groups for 10 weeks. The data were collected using the mixed method explanatory sequential design approach. "Physical Education and Sports Lesson Values Education Scale" and "Physical Education and Sports Attitude Scale" were used to collect quantitative data. In the analysis of the data, arithmetic means, correlation, Wilcoxon, Mann Whitney U, and Kruskal Wallis analyzes were performed. Qualitative data, on the other hand, were collected through lesson observations and focus group interviews and analyzed by content analysis. According to the research findings; there has been an increase in secondary school students' physical education lesson value perceptions and attitudes. The most developed value of the students was friendship, followed by self-control, helpfulness, justice, and responsibility, respectively. The students in the TCG and SEM groups showed more improvement in their helpfulness, friendship, and general value perception. Those in the TCG group improved more in responsibility and self-control than the CG and PAC groups. Physical education lesson attitudes of SEM, PAC, and TCG group students improved more than CG students. While there was a development in favor of males in self-control value, no significant difference was found in other values dimensions and course attitudes according to gender. A positive moderate relationship was found between students' value perceptions and course attitudes. In the focus group interview, the students in different groups interpreted the research findings in different ways. As a result of the research; TCG and SEM were at the forefront in the development of students' value perception, and PAC and TCG in the development of course attitudes. This research aims to examine the fair play behaviors of secondary school students who participate in school sports. The sample of the research consists of 495 secondary school students who continue their education in Niğde in the 2022-2023 academic year and are selected by criterion sampling from purposive sampling methods. "Frequency of Exhibiting Fair Play Behaviors Scale" was used as a data collection tool in the research. Descriptive statistics, t-tests, and ANOVA tests were performed in the analysis of the data, and a significance level of .05 was taken into account in the interpretation of the data. According to the research findings, the students who participated in school sports exhibited fair play behavior at a frequent level in the spectator dimension; at a very frequent level in team, negative behavior, opponent dimension, throughout the scale. Fair play behaviors of female students were higher than male students (p<.03). According to the grade level, the scores of the 5th-grade students were found to be significantly higher than the 7th-grade students (p<.01). While the fair play behaviors of the students playing football in the spectator dimension of the scale were higher than the athletes interested in individual branches (p<.00), no significant difference was found in other dimensions (p>.05). In the variable of sports age, the fair play behaviors of the students who do sports for 1-3 years were found to be higher than the students who did sports for less than 1 year (p<.00). As a result of the research, it has been determined that secondary school students participating in school sports exhibit fair play behaviors very often and develop more positive attitudes towards their team. This study, it was aimed to determine the predisposition levels of teachers and pre-service teachers to ethical values. The sample of the study consisted of 1305 educators, 784 teachers, and 521 pre-service teachers in 15 different branches in the 2021-2022 academic year. The sample of the research conducted in the relational survey model was selected by a simple random sampling method. In the research, the Inclination to Ethical Values Scale developed by Kaya (2015) was used as a data collection tool. The scale has three dimensions: Love, justice, and cooperation. In the analysis of the data, mean, standard deviation, frequency, percentage, Mann-Whitney U test, and Kruskal Wallis test were used and .05 significance level was taken into account in the interpretation of the data. According to the research findings, teachers and pre-service teachers got very high scores on the scale. While there was no difference in gender for the level of susceptibility to ethical values; significant results were founded-determined in favor of teachers in terms of status; in favor of physical education teachers in-branch comparison; in favor of those with more than 16 years of service according to professional seniority and in favor of those who do regular physical activity. As a result of the research; it has been seen that teachers and pre-service teachers are very inclined to ethical values and they internalize the value of love the most. Planning functional pre-service and in-service training for pre-service teachers who have not yet started the profession or for teachers who are newly started to the profession. This study aims to develop a standard scale by making the validity and reliability of the globalization survey developed for education faculties in the sample of sports sciences. A total of 878 people, including 81 academicians, 336 physical education and sports teachers, 118 trainers, and 343 sports sciences students, who were reached by a simple random method, participated in the study. The data was collected at 3 different times, Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA) in the first group (n = 426), Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) in the second group (n = 412), and test-retest analysis in the third group (n = 40) was performed. As a result of EFA, which was conducted to determine the construct validity, a structure consisting of 17 items and 3 factors was obtained, which explains 71.588% of the total variance. These factors are; teaching-learning processes are named as management and technology. The Cronbach Alpha internal consistency coefficient of the scale was calculated as .94. According to the CFA results (X2 / df: 2.63; RMSEA: .06; PGFI: .69; PNFI: .79; GFI: .92; AGFI: .90; IFI: .96; TLI: .95; NFI:.94; CFI: .96) the scale has acceptable fit values. In the test-retest analysis, a positive correlation was found .83. As a result, it can be said that the globalization scale can be used in sports science research and is a valid and reliable scale. Objective: The objective of this study was to assess the intraocular pressure (IOP)-lowering efficacy, tolerability, safety, and usage patterns of prostaglandin analog/prostamide (PGA/P)-containing topical ocular hypotensives in ocular hypertension (OHT) and primary open-angle glaucoma in the Turkish clinical setting. Methods: This non-interventional, multicenter study enrolled previously treated patients who failed to achieve target IOP (or experienced unacceptable adverse events [AEs]) and were prescribed a PGA/P-containing IOP-lowering agent. Treatment was initiated at baseline (V1), and patients returned at weeks 4-6 (V2) and 8-12 (V3). The primary efficacy measure was the change in IOP from baseline at V3 in each eye. The secondary measures were physician's assessment of IOP-lowering efficacy, patients (%) reaching target IOP determined at V1, hyperemia score, physician and patient assessment of study treatment tolerability at V3, and AE frequency/severity. A subgroup analysis of patients receiving the most common study treatment was conducted. All analyses were performed using the safety population (patients who received one or more doses and had any data available). Results: Of 358 enrolled patients, 60.6% had primary open-angle glaucoma, 29.9% had secondary open-angle glaucoma (protocol amendment), and 13.1% had OHT; 13 patients had multiple diagnoses. At V3, the mean IOP change from baseline was $-4.2 mmHg ($21.1%). IOP met or was lower than the target in 81.7% of patients, 95% exhibited none to mild conjunctival hyperemia (most common AE), and tolerability was rated good/very good by .91.1% of patients and physicians. The results were similar in patients who received the most common study treatment, bimatoprost 0.03%/timolol 0.5% (bim/tim; n=310). Conclusion: PGA/P-containing medications, including bim/tim, significantly reduced IOP in previously treated patients with open-angle glaucoma or OHT; most reached their target IOP or an IOP even lower than their target and reported good/very good tolerability. PGA/P-containing medications such as bim/tim should be considered as a safe, effective therapeutic option for Turkish patients who exhibit poor response, tolerance, or adherence to their previous therapy. Purpose To compare lamina cribrosa ( LC) and choroidal thicknesses using enhanced depth imaging optical coherence tomography ( EDI- OCT) in patients with Parkinson's disease ( PD) and healthy controls. Methods A total number of 44 eyes of 22 patients with PD and 50 eyes of 25 healthy subjects were utilized in this institutional cross-sectional study. After a complete ophthalmic examination, all eyes were imaged with OCT ( RTVue-100 version 5.1 Fourier-domain optical coherence tomography; Optovue Inc., Fremont, CA, USA); LC and choroidal thickness were assessed. Results The mean LC thicknesses were 209.4 ± 40.2 μm in patients with PD and 292.5 ± 33.7 μm in control subjects. There was a significant difference in the mean LC thickness between the groups (p < 0.0001). The choroidal thickness measurements of the PD group at the subfoveal region and 1.5 mm temporal and 1.5 mm nasal to the fovea were 228.1 ± 44.3, 193.2 ± 41.4 and 188.4 ± 49.0 μm, respectively, whereas measurements for the controls were, respectively, 246.5 ± 38.2, 227.3 ± 34.7 and 216.7 ± 51.4 μm. The choroid was significantly thinner in eyes of the PD group compared to that of the controls (p = 0.001, p < 0.001, and p = 0.006). There was no significant correlation between the disease severity and OCT parameters. The duration of the disease showed a statistically significant negative correlation with LC ( rs[94] = −0.700, p < 0.001), and average subfoveal and temporal and nasal choroid thicknesses ( rs[94] = −0.282, p = 0.006; rs[94] = −0.324, p = 0.001, rs[94] = −0.240, and p = 0.020, respectively). Conclusions Regardless of the disease severity, PD may cause atrophy and volume loss in the lamina cribrosa, and choroid. Purpose To investigate spatial-contrast sensitivity (CS) assessment as a tool for diagnosis of early glaucoma in patients with good visual acuity. Methods In this prospective cross-sectional study we evaluated one eye of 50 patients with primary open angle or normotensive glaucoma who were newly diagnosed. All met the 0.6, or better, vision requirement. CS was measured at 1.5, 3, 6, 12, and 18 cycles per degree (cpd) spatial frequencies for one luminance level (85 cd/m2) using the functional acuity contrast test (FACT). Visual fields were evaluated using the Humphrey 750i field analyzer and the 30-2 standard full threshold program. The results from the visual acuity and CS assessments were compared with results for 20 age-matched control subjects. Results CS scores were significantly lower at all spatial frequencies for the glaucoma patients than for the control subjects. The sensitivity of CS measurements was generally around 50%. Specificity ranged between 68 and 100%. FACT CS scores of less than 22 at 12 cpd spatial frequency provided sensitivity and specificity values concomitantly exceeding 60%. Conclusions Both the presence of a significant difference between the CS of glaucoma patients and control subjects and a high specificity of contrast sensitivity suggests that the FACT test may be used as a tool for diagnosis of patients with glaucoma, besides other methods such as short-wavelength automated perimetry (SWAP). One hundred and eighty-five referred patients with various eye pathologies were evaluated retrospectively after they had undergone an examination and issued with a prescription for low vision. The majority of patients (77%) benefited from the prescribing of low vision aids (LVA). Spectacle-mounted magnifiers, high reading additions and telescopes were used as LVAs.
