PURPOSE OF THE STUDY Different techniques have been reported to reconstruct the deficient acetabulum during total hip arthroplasty (THA). The purpose of this study was to compare the biomechanical features of the bulk bone graft (BBG) technique (Harris acetabular plasty) and the Roof Step Cut (RSC) technique using finite element analysis. MATERIAL AND METHODS Based on a female patient‘s dysplastic hip CT scan, 3D models were assembled according to the two techniques. For the Harris technique, an irregular BBG was sculpted from a solid sphere, while for the RSC technique, the graft was sculpted into a step-cut shape with a similar size. Each graft was fixed with two compression screws at two different angles (0° and 45°). Four finite element models were used to compare the von Mises stress distribution and total deformation of the grafts and the screws. The pressure and sliding distances of the contacts between the bone graft, metal cup and acetabular host bone were also analyzed. RESULTS For both of the bone grafts and the screws, compared to the Harris models, the maximum stress of the RSC models was significantly lower (16.56 MPa, 25.50 MPa vs 97.13 MPa, 112.72 MPa) and the total deformation was significantly smaller (0.0096 mm, 0.0089 mm vs 0.022 mm, 0.018 mm). 45° inserted screws generated higher stress at the end of the screws and on the outside of the bone graft. In case of 0° inserted screws, the maximum value was mainly located in the middle of the screws, inside the screw channel as well as at the contact area between the graft and the host bone. At all analyzed contacts, the RSC technique shows significantly lower pressure and sliding distances, irrelevant to the screw’s insertion angle. In comparison, the model of BBG with 45° screws showed a significant sliding effect and higher contact pressure. CONCLUSIONS Compared with the BBG technique, the step-shaped graft of the RSC technique could significantly reduce the maximum stress and deformation of the graft and the screws, and decrease the pressure and sliding distance between the bone graft, metal cup and the acetabular host bone. Rearrangement of land resources following the political changes in Hungary has not ended yet. It is almost impossible to collect information necessary for planning activities on outer areas of settlements. The data are either distributed among various organizations where they can be found in diverse forms, or are not available at all. Water quality protection, however, has become legally ordered concerning municipal activities around the Lake Balaton. This region is considered as the most important recreation area and tourist target in Hungary and is also affected by a number of factors providing sources to environmental conflicts. Settlements of a watershed (Tetves Creek) on the southern shoreline of Lake Balaton (Central Hungary) tendered a complex task for collecting the sources of the authentic data of the Hungarian rural areas along with systematizing and saving these data in a uniform GIS. GIS adaptation and digital reambulation of large-scale soil information originating from various agrogeological surveys has become a key issue in Hungary due the recent challenges. The national programme initiated by L. Kreybig for the systematic, 1:25,000 scale practical soil mapping of Hungary was carried out between 1935 and 1951, and provided detailed soil information (1:25,000 scale maps and complementary database in the form of explanatory booklets) for the whole country. Later farm level (1:10,000 scale) soil surveys fulfilled the practical requirements of Hungarian agriculture, producing a huge quantity of map based, soil related data. These archives still represent a valuable treasure of soil information at present. Their digital reambulation and GIS adaptation is a challenging task, which was initiated by RISSAC GIS Lab in co-operation with various institutions. The aim of these activities is the development of large-scale soil modules of a Hungarian production database for the determination of the optimal functions of agriculture in a given region, together with the harmonization of agricultural production and the protection of land and environment. A key issue of the applicability of both traditional soil maps and soil information systems (SSISs) is their accuracy. Essentially, the main practical aim of soil surveys/mapping and spatial soil information is prediction. A traditional tool of this information extension is the classical (crisp) soil map (using soil mapping units), which generally constitute the geometric basis of SSISs, too. Numerous novel methods have been developed for producing more accurate soil maps, however traditional crisp soil maps are still extensively applied, as they offer the most easily interpretable results for the majority of users. On the other hand, accuracy of this kind of soil maps can be increased in several ways: with the refinement of soil contours; with the subdivision of mapping units taking into consideration smaller, within patch inhomogeneities; and with the refinement of attribute information (more recent data, more precise measurement, up-to-date methodology, more appropriate classification etc.). The GIS adaptation of soil information originating from the 1:25,000 scale practical soil mapping of Hungary is under construction. Compilation of the Kreybig Digital Soil Information System (KDSIS) involves both its integration within appropriate spatial data infrastructure and updating with efficient field correlation, which make an inherent refinement and upgrading of the system possible. The first attempts for the field-based updating of KDSIS have been done, using field GIS technology. Processes of desktop and field reambulation of the detailed, complex, national spatial soil information system are presented in this paper. Objectives: To evaluate t he long-term outcomes following treatment of RT 1 multiple adjacent gingival recessions (MAGR) using the modified coronally advanced tunnel (MCAT) with either a collagen matrix CM or a connective tissue graft (CTG). Material and methods: Sixteen of the original 22 subjects included in a randomized, controlled split-mouth clinical trial were available for the 9-year follow-up (114 sites). Recessions were randomly treated by means of MCAT + CM (test) or MCAT + CTG (control). Complete root coverage (CRC), mean root coverage (MRC), gingival recession depth (GRD), probing pocket depth (PD), keratinized tissue width (KTW), and thickness (KGT) were compared with baseline values and with the 12-month results. Results: After 9 years, CRC was observed in 2 patients, one in each group. At 9 years, MRC was 23.0 ± 44.5% in the test and 39.7 ± 35.1% in the control group (p = 0.179). The MRC reduction compared to 12 months was − 50.1 ± 47.0% and − 48.3 ± 37.7%, respectively. The upper jaw obtained 31.92 ± 43.0% of MRC for the test and 51.1 ± 27.8% for the control group (p = 0.111) compared to the lower jaw with 8.3 ± 46.9% and 20.7 ± 40.3%. KTW and KGT increased for both CM and CTG together from 2.0 ± 0.7 to 3.1 ± 1.0 mm (< 0.0001). There were no statistically significant changes in PD. Conclusion: The present results indicate that (a) treatment of MAGR using MCAT in conjunction with either CM or CTG is likely to show a relapse over a period of 9 years, and (b) the outcomes obtained in maxillary areas seem to be more stable compared to the mandibular ones. Clinical relevance: The mean root coverage at 12 months could not be fully maintained over 9 years. Antimicrobial susceptibility of clinical isolates collected from sites in central Europe in 2019 was tested by CLSI broth microdilution method and EUCAST breakpoints. Most active were amikacin, ceftazidime-avibactam and colistin; respectively, susceptibility rates among P. aeruginosa (n = 701) were 89.2%, 92.2% and 99.9%; difficult-to-treat (DTR) isolates, 62.5%, 37.5% and 100%; multidrug-resistant (MDR) isolates, 68.3%, 72.9% and 99.5%; meropenem-resistant (MEM-R), metallo-β-lactamase-negative (MBL-negative) isolates, 72.8%, 78.6% and 100%. Among Enterobacterales (n = 1639), susceptibility to ceftazidime-avibactam, colistin and tigecycline was ≥ 97.9%; MDR Enterobacterales, 96.8%, 94.4% and 100%, respectively; DTR isolates, ≥ 76.2% to ceftazidime-avibactam and colistin; MEM-R, MBL-negative isolates, ≥ 90.0% to ceftazidime-avibactam and colistin. The analysis of magnetic properties of soft magnetic composite materials composed of iron insulated by polymer bonded Ni-Zn ferrite nanofibers is presented in the paper, focusing on the investigation of magnetization processes, by means of the total energy loss separation, the peak, differential, reversible and irreversible permeability analysis and modelling and the percent proportions of reversible and irreversible processes determination. The highest permeability exhibited by the sample with the optimal ferrite to resin ratio within insulation means the highest number of movable domain walls involved in the magnetization process. The highest proportion of irreversible domain wall displacements and the lowest proportion of reversible magnetization vector rotations were found for this sample, as well as the highest low induction losses and the lowest high induction losses, which also revealed the highest amount of domain wall displacements, facilitating magnetization reversal and resulting in the improved soft magnetic properties. Among the different genera, occurrence of I Lactobacillus i spp. displayed a uniform reduction in HS skin compared to controls, regardless of skin characteristics or the presence of symptoms (Fig. Hidradenitis suppurativa (HS) characteristically affects the apocrine gland-rich, moist skin sites, but atypical lesions may occur in distinct areas.1 Studies reported dysbiosis in moist HS lesions,2-4 and a similar dysbiosis in yet unaffected, but typical, moist predilection sites on patients5 when compared to healthy skin. Of note, HS is established as a systemic disease with systemic inflammation.10 Such disturbances in the skin flora that uniformly affect distinct skin niches may be reflective of systemic metabolic or inflammatory changes that are likely in HS. The addition of synthetic (E)-anethol to the known attractant phenylacetaldehyde synergized attraction of the cotton bollworm Helicoverpa armigera, the blend invariably catching 4 to 6 times more than phenylacetaldehyde on its own. Highest catches were recorded by the 1:1-3:1 blends. The addition of salicyl aldehyde, ±linalool, (R)-(+)-limonene, 2-methoxybenzyl alcohol and 4-methoxybenzyl alcohol (compounds described earlier in the literature as co-attractants for H. armigera), increased catches when added to phenylacetaldehyde. However, the addition of these compounds did not increase catches of the (E)-anethol+pheny- lacetaldehyde blend. When directly compared with performance of the synthetic pheromone, the (E)-anethol +phenylacetaldehyde blend caught an average of 27% of the catch in pheromone baited traps. On an average 79% of moths caught in traps with the (E)-anethol+phenylacetaldehyde blend were females, while traps with pheromone caught only males. The (E)-anethol+phenylacetaldehyde blend described in this study may form the basis for the development of an efficient bisexual lure for H. armigera AFTER further optimization. In this paper, we investigated the influence of ferrite and resin content on inner demagnetizing fields and initial magnetization curves of Fe-based soft magnetic composites with ferrite-resin insulation. The inner demagnetization factor was determined from anhysteretic curves. Samples containing ferrite exhibited lower inner demagnetization factor than those with pure resin insulation. The highest content of ferrite resulted in the increase of porosity, slightly increasing the demagnetization factor. The measured initial curves were recalculated to soft magnetic composites "without pores and resin", meaning that they contains 100% of magnetic material with infinitely low non-magnetic (resin and pores) content. This revealed the high involvement of ferrite particles in magnetization reversal, and their good interaction with Fe particles. Moreover, this confirmed that ferrite particles in the prepared SMCs act as appropriate magnetically active insulator. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The evaluation of different components of secondary radiation (charged fragments and neutrons) onboard ISS is described. Solid-state nuclear track detectors CR-39™ were applied for the measurements of short-range nuclear fragments, while the measurements of neutrons were carried out by means of thermo-luminescent dosimeters with various concentrations of6Li and7Li. The flux of charged secondaries and the gamma-equivalent neutron dose are presented in function of the low-LET dose in various modules of the Russian segment of ISS. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Purpose: The replacement of the dysplastic hip, despite the numerous available surgical techniques, is not entirely solved. One of the reasons for this is the relative lack of bone in the acetabulum. In this study, we present a new concept (intraosseous structural graft technique), with the aim to improve the primary stability and biological environment of the graft. Methods: During the procedure in the cranial quadrant of the acetabulum, a proximally hinged cortico-spongious plate is fashioned that is opened laterally and a wedge-shaped graft made from the femoral head is impacted. The precisely fitted graft has good primary rotational and cranial stability which is further improved by a bicortical screw. Results: The hypothesis is supported by examination on 3D models. Cadaver experimentations were performed on 19 hips of 10 cadavers, and stability testing was done on a further 20 hips of 10 cadavers with a material testing apparatus. Also the analysis of the biological and mechanical properties of the graft and the implant were examined. Conclusion: Based on our results, it can be concluded that our technique provides good primary stability with a more favorable biological condition for bony incorporation compared to other bulk bone graft techniques. Objective: To compare the extent of fetomaternal transfusion after amniocentesis and cordocentesis. Setting: Three-hundred and forty-five amniocentesis and 268 cordocentesis were performed for genetic indications. The extent of fetomaternal transfusion was calculated on the basis of the maternal serum alpha-fetoprotein level changes. Results: The mean fetomaternal transfusion was 6.3 and 62 μL in the amniocentesis and cordocentesis groups, respectively. Transplacental needle passage and longer procedural time were risk factors for fetomaternal transfusion. The frequency of transplacental passage was higher and the procedural time was longer in the cordocentesis group. The fetal loss rate was 1.17% after amniocentesis and 1.2% after cordocentesis, respectively. Conclusions: Cordocentesis causes more injury to the extrafetal compartment, which results in a higher level of fetomaternal transfusion. However, though a nearly ten times higher fetomaternal transfusion was observed after cordocentesis, there was no essential difference in pregnancy outcome between the two groups. Effect of humic acid (HA) and fulvic acid (FA) on production parameters, immune response and thyroid function of rats were investigated in two experiments. First experiment: control or 0.1%, 0.2%, 0.4%, 0.8% HA- or FA-supplemented diets. Second experiment: control and 0.4% HA- or FA-supplemented diets. The feeding period lasted 26 days in both trials. No significant changes were observed in production parameters. Ovalbumine antibody titre of rats on HA- or FA-supplemented diets showed dose-dependent (at 0.4% supplementation) and significant (p < 0.05) increase (350 and 418% respectively) over the control (100%). Dose-related increase of plasma TSH ( r = 0.99), and decrease of the T/T ratio ( r = −0.97) was observed in FA-supplemented rats. Second experiment: both FA and HA stimulated the immune response by the 14th day (mean values: control: 685.79; FA: 1131.37; HA: 1055.6099) and 26th day (control: 544.31; FA: 1969.83; HA: 1600.00). No significant differences were noted with lymphocyte stimulation test. Diameter of the 'B'-dependent lymphoid tissues in the ileum and spleen were significantly (p < 0.05) larger in both the FA- and HA-treated animals. Humic acid and FA supplementation resulted in strong humoral immune stimulation. Our data also indicate that FA content is responsible for the mild hypothyroid effect of humic substances. The purpose of this study was to characterise methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) strains isolated in 2005 at the university hospitals of Debrecen, Hungary. Three hundred and thirty-nine MRSA strains were isolated from 102 patients at 18 different clinics. Their sensitivity to oxacillin and ten other antibiotics was determined. For genotypic analysis, phage typing and pulsed-field gel electrophoresis (PFGE) was performed. The rate of MRSA strains increased to 7.2% in 2005, especially at the clinics of surgery, pulmonology and paediatrics. No vancomycin- or teicoplanin-resistant strains were found. The resistance to erythromycin, clindamycin and ciprofloxacin was nearly 100% and multi-resistance was very frequent. Fifty-eight percent of the isolates belonged to mixed phage types and 8% was non-typable. One PFGE clone contained 58.2% of all strains and two further major clones were found at a separately located clinical block, indicating intra-hospital spread. In the frame of a European Space Agency (ESA) project called ‘Biology and Physics in Space’, a returning satellite, Foton-M2, was orbiting a container, the BIOPAN-5, loaded with biological experiments and facilities for radiation dosimetry (RADO) in the open space. One of the RADO experiments was dedicated to the detection of the primary cosmic rays and secondary neutrons by a track etch detector stack. The system was calibrated at high-energy particle accelerators and neutron generators. The developed detectors were investigated by an image analyser, and from the track parameters the linear energy transfer spectra and the absorbed dose were determined (26 µGy/d). Also, the neutron flux was estimated below 5 MeV and found to be 2.4 cm−2 s−1 directly from the space. The construction of the stack allowed to investigate the neutrons also from the direction of the carrying satellite, where the flux was found somewhat higher. [ABSTRACT FROM PUBLISHER]

To study the radiation environment inside the International Space Station, solid state nuclear track detector stacks were used. Within the BRADOS experiments, Phase 1, seven stacks were exposed at different locations of the Russian segment 'Zvezda' for 248 days in 2001. It was supposed that the radiation field inside the ISS was composed from primary cosmic ray particles penetrating the wall of the ISS and secondaries, mainly neutrons induced by primaries in the wall and other structural materials surrounding the detectors. Based on the calibration made by utilising the high energy neutron reference field CERF at CERN (Geneva, Switzerland), the tracks induced by neutrons were separated from those induced by primary particles. Thus, the stacks, on one hand, provided the secondary neutron ambient dose equivalent. On the other hand, from the analysis of the rest of the tracks, the linear energy transfer spectra were computed and the flux and the dose of the primary particles were determined as shown in this paper. The article presents a study which demonstrates the fatigue crack propagation (FCP) behavior of interpenetrating vinylester (VE) and epoxy resins (EP) combinations as a function of VE/EP ratio, EP formulation and curing conditions. From the produced plaques compact tension specimens were cut and notched accordingly prior to subjecting them to FCP measurements in tension-tension mode on a Schenck PSA 10 kN servohydraulic machine. Interpenetrating network structure composed of two continuous phases with various characteristics is inherently prone to shear deformation.

Objective To investigate the relationship between nuchal translucency (NT) and fetomaternal transfusion (FMT) after chorionic villus sampling (CVS). Methods The level of FMT was determined in 272 viable, singleton pregnancies in which 10-14-week ultrasound scanning, NT measurement and CVS for fetal karyotyping had been performed. The pre-CVS NT was measured transvaginally, and the women were divided into two groups, i.e. those with NT <2.5 mm (Group 1) or ≥ 2.5 mm (Group 2). The level of FMT was determined via the maternal serum alpha-fetoprotein levels before and after CVS. FMT was analyzed in relation to the pre-CVS NT. Results Of the 272 pregnancies, 213 were in Group 1 and 59 in Group 2. The mean levels of FMT after CVS were 23.3 ± 12.2 and 5.4 ± 2.9 μL in Groups 1 and 2, respectively (P < 0.01). An FMT > 100 μL was found in 19 cases in Group 1, whereas the maximum in Group 2 was 67.2 μ L. Aneuploidies were diagnosed in 17 cases, 15 (88.2%) of them in Group 2. When the pregnancies with adverse outcome were excluded from the two groups, a higher level of FMT was observed in Subgroup 1 than in Subgroup 2 (P < 0.01). Conclusions The mean level of FMT after CVS was significantly lower in pregnancies with an increased preCVS NT, a relationship observed in euploid pregnancies also. An increased pre-CVS NT seems to be inversely correlated with the FMT increase after CVS. Further studies are planned to investigate the background to this phenomenon. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Abstract Aim The purpose of this study was to compare the shaping characteristics of Ni–Ti K-files and Ni–Ti S-files manipulated by hand. Methodology A total of 60 extracted human roots were embedded in resin blocks. The embedded roots were divided into three groups: (i) roots with straight; (ii) apically curved; and (iii) continuously curved canals. Each of the three groups was randomly divided into two subgroups; one subgroup in each group was prepared with Ni–Ti K-files and the other with Ni–Ti S-files. The files were used with a step-back technique and enlarged so that the master apical file was size 30, and the canals were stepped back to size 40. The performance of the files was assessed by the superimposition of projected radiographs taken in bucco-lingual and mesio-distal directions before and after the preparation. The results were analysed statistically using analysis of covariance and Duncan’s multiple range test. Results Although canal preparation using Ni–Ti K-files was quicker, there were no statistically significant differences between file types. The Ni–Ti S-file removed significantly more material at the most coronal level (P < 0.05). There were minor differences between instruments at the apical level. Only in the proximal view of apically curved canals prepared with Ni–Ti S-files was significantly more dentine removed from the outer aspect of the curvature (P < 0.05). At the middle level (wide danger zone) the Ni–Ti S-files removed more dentine from the inner aspect of the curvature in those roots with apically curved canals. Conclusions Under the conditions of this study, preparation with Ni–Ti K-files produced more appropriate shapes in roots with apically curved canals than Ni–Ti S-files. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Background: A prospective screening study was carried out at the regional genetic and perinatal center in South Hungary in order to determine the efficiency of first-trimester nuchal translucency screening for fetal aneuploidies, following augmentation of the availability of nuchal translucency screening in the region by the inclusion of newly-trained hospital sonographers.Methods: Nuchal translucency thickness was measured by transvaginal sonography in 7,044 women with singleton or multiple pregnancies at weeks 10-12. Fetal karyotyping was performed when the nuchal translucency was . or = 2.5 mm, and in women with fetuses at high cytogenetic risk.Results: Follow-up was performed in 6,841 of the 7,044 screened women. An abnormal karyotype was found in 33 cases (0.48%). The level of increased nuchal translucency was 4.5% at a cutoff of > or = 2.5 mm, and 2.8% at a cutoff of > or = 3 mm. Seventeen cases of trisomy 21, eight of trisomy 18, four of trisomy 13, one of 45,X, one of triploidy and two cases with other chromosomal abnormalities were detected. In the 33 fetuses with a chromosomal abnormality, the nuchal translucency thickness was <2.5 mm in a case of trisomy 18, > or = 2.5 mm in 32 cases and > or = 3 mm in 28 cases. With cutoffs of 2.5 mm and 3 mm, the sensitivity was 96.97% and 84.85%, respectively.Conclusions: Application of a nuchal translucency thickness cutoff of 2.5 mm is highly efficient for the screening of fetal aneuploidies at 10-12 weeks. Interfacial rheological properties of a model crude oil-water system were studied in the presence of sodium hydroxide. The interfacial viscosity, the non-Newtonian flow behavior and the activation energy of viscous flow were determined as a function of shear rate, alkali concentration and aging time. The fundamental conclusion of the experimental results is that the interfacial viscosity drastically decreases in the presence of alkaline materials and the change under favorable conditions may exceed 3 or 4 orders of magnitude. Simultaneously, the sodium hydroxide effectively suppresses the non-Newtonian flow behavior of the interfacial layer. The experimental observations are explained by simultaneous chemical processes taking place in the boundary layer. The present data may help to elucidate the formation, stability and breaking of alkali-containing oil-water emulsions and they provide additional information for better understanding of the displacement mechanism and for the formulation of alkaline flooding as a potential chemically enhanced oil-recovery method. Atomic one-electron energies and associated radial orthogonalized wavefunctions are calculated with the variational method. The potential field was a universal one and the trial functions were taken as linear combinations of Slater-type orbitals. The exponents were determined by a geometrical series which are sometimes called 'even-tempered' exponents [1]. The previously proposed simple analytical polynomial (non-exponential) wave function in elliptical coordinates has been applied for heteronuclear two-center systems. The calculated ground state energy values determined in third-tenth order approximation agree very well with the exact values for the HeH, LiH and the HeLi, in the whole interval of the internuclear distance. The case of a 12-year-old girl dying of renal insufficiency is described. At autopsy granulomatous glomerulonephritis was found without any systemic disease. The glomerular light-, immunofluorescent- and electron microscopic changes were studied. Four hundred glomeruli were analyzed by light microscopic investigation and graded (I-IV). By immunofluorescent investigation, intraglomerular and in the more severely affected glomeruli, periglomerular immunoglobulin deposition was detected. Electron microscopic investigation revealed mononuclear cells and fibroblasts in the glomerular and periglomerular cellular infiltrate, resulting in fragmentation and rupture of Bowman's capsule and loss of the glomerular structure. Chronic immune complex formation was induced in rabbits by daily administration of 12.5 g bovine serum. In good antibody producer animals immediate immune complex production and elimination from the circulation were demonstrable. This was followed within a few minutes by the appearance of freeI in fairly large amounts in blood, as a sign of immediate phagocytosis and disintegration of theI-labelled immune complexes. Phagocytic activity decreased in the host animal during chronic heteroprotein administration in every case. The earliest glomerular changes were those of exudative glomerulonephritis, the extent of which depended on the antibody productivity of the animal. Persistent immunocomplexaemia induced by administration of the antigen over 60 and 100 days, respectively, resulted in mesangioproliferative glomerulonephritis in 7, in membranoproliferative glomerulonephritis in 3, and in membraneous glomerulonephritis in 1 out of 11 laboratory animals. Eleven rabbits were given bovine serum albumin i.v., in daily doses of 25 mg. Renal biopsy was performed on the 30th, 60th and 100th day of treatment and the specimens were subjected to light-, electron-microscopic and immunofluorescent studies, so as to follow up the dynamics of the glomerular process. Proteinuria and the serum creatinine and BUN levels were also measured. By the 100th day of treatment mesangioproliferative glomerulopathy had developed in 7, membranoproliferative glomerulopathy in 3 cases and membraneous glomerulopathy in 1 case. On the 30th day of treatment exudative glomerulopathy was demonstrable in the majority of the cases (in 9 animals). It is suggested that the earliest stage of the various glomerulopathies, regardless of their type, is marked by exudative lesions. The heaviest proteinuria was found in membraneous and membranoproliferative glomerulopathies. Changes in the serum creatinine and BUN levels indicative of a deteriorating renal function were noted in the membranoproliferative cases.
