In this paper it is argued that Christian poetry of the seventeenth century, specifically that of John Donne, George Herbert, and Andrew Marvell can be used in the English classrooms of Protestant colleges in order to introduce students studying Bible and theology to the notion that theology can and should be environmentally minded. The article discusses the feminist redefinition of detective fiction in the detective novels "Maisie Dobbs" by Jacqueline Winspear and "Death at La Fenice" by Donna Leon. Also cited are the use of meaningful rationality to support perceived societal truths in the novels as cited by Sanja Matkovic, and how the novels brought a new kind of femininity in the genre.
