Currently, most of the ultra-high-dimensional feature screening methods for categorical data are based on the correlation between covariates and response variables, using some statistics as the screening index to screen important covariates. Thus, with the increasing number of data types and model availability limitations, there may be a potential problem with the existence of a class of unimportant covariates that are also highly correlated with the response variable due to their high correlation with the other covariates. To address this issue, in this paper, we establish a model-free feature screening procedure for binary categorical response variables from the perspective of the contribution of features to classification. The idea is to introduce the Jensen-Shannon divergence to measure the difference between the conditional probability distributions of the covariates when the response variables take on different values. The larger the value of the Jensen-Shannon divergence, the stronger the covariate's contribution to the classification of the response variable, and the more important the covariate is. We propose two kinds of model-free ultra-high-dimensional feature screening methods for binary response data. Meanwhile, the methods are suitable for continuous or categorical covariates. When the numbers of covariate categories are the same, the feature screening is based on traditional Jensen-Shannon divergence. When the numbers of covariate categories are different, the Jensen-Shannon divergence is adjusted using the logarithmic factor of the number of categories. We theoretically prove that the proposed methods have sure screening and ranking consistency properties, and through simulations and real data analysis, we demonstrate that, in feature screening, the approaches proposed in this paper have the advantages of effectiveness, stability, and less computing time compared with an existing method. Fisheries are an essential component of the national economy. The evaluation of fishery enterprises' business performance helps reveal the fishery industry's operating efficiency and serve the fishery economy's sustainable and high-quality development. This study used the data of fishery companies with industry-finance integration on the stock market from 2012-2021 and conducted a comparative study on the business performance of fishery companies with industry-finance integration on the stock market based on the DEA-CCR model and DEA-Malmquist index method. Two main results were revealed (i) the integration of industry and finance was an effective means to improve business performance, and the financial gains from the integration of industry and finance by listed fishery companies improve the overall efficiency and total factor productivity (TFP) of enterprises. Scallops are economically important shellfish widely cultured in China. In this study, the agglomeration characteristics of the scallop aquaculture industry in Chinese coastal provinces were explored based on data from the China Fishery Statistical Yearbook from 2012 to 2020 and the comparative advantage and concentration level of the scallop breeding industry. The data were analyzed using the comprehensive relative advantage index, location entropy, and industrial concentration degree method. Two main results revealed that Hebei Province had the highest comparative advantage in terms of efficiency, followed by Fujian, Guangdong, Shandong, Guangxi, Liaoning, and Zhejiang Provinces. Hebei Province had the highest comparative advantage in scale, followed by Liaoning, Shandong, Hainan, Guangdong, Guangxi, Fujian, and Zhejiang Provinces. Additionally, the scallop cultivation industry in Hebei, Shandong, and Liaoning Provinces showed a high concentration, and the proportion of scallop production in the national production (CR4) in the three provinces, as well as in Guangdong, accounted for more than 99% year-round. Overall, Hebei, Shandong, and Liaoning Provinces had a comparative advantage in scale, comprehensive comparative advantage, and industrial agglomeration. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Berardinelli-Seip congenital lipodystrophy type 2 (BSCL2) is the most severe form of human lipodystrophy, characterized by an almost complete loss of adipose tissue and severe insulin resistance. BSCL2 is caused by lossof- function mutations in the BSCL2/SEIPIN gene, which is upregulated during adipogenesis and abundantly expressed in the adipose tissue. The physiological function of SEIPIN in mature adipocytes, however, remains to be elucidated. Here, we generated adipose-specific Seipin knockout (ASKO) mice, which exhibit adipocyte hypertrophy with enlarged lipid droplets, reduced lipolysis, adipose tissue inflammation, progressive loss of white and brown adipose tissue, insulin resistance, and hepatic steatosis. Lipidomic and microarray analyses revealed accumulation/imbalance of lipid species, including ceramides, in ASKO adipose tissue as well as increased endoplasmic reticulum stress. Interestingly, the ASKO mice almost completely phenocopy the fat-specific peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor-γ (Pparγ) knockout (FKO-γ) mice. Rosiglitazone treatment significantly improved a number of metabolic parameters of the ASKOmice, including insulin sensitivity. Our results therefore demonstrate a critical role of SEIPIN in maintaining lipid homeostasis and function of adipocytes and reveal an intimate relationship between SEIPIN and PPAR-γ. CdS hollow spheres (CdS HS) coupled with graphitic carbon nitride (g-C3N4) photocatalysts are synthesized and characterized by x-ray diffraction (XRD), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), ultraviolet-visible diffuse reflection spectroscopy (DRS), x-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), and photoluminescence spectroscopy (PL). The effect of CdS content on CdS HS/g-C3N4 activity is investigated by the degradation of Rhodamine B (RhB). The sample of 20 wt% CdS content shows the best photocatalytic performance under visible-light irradiation, with the corresponding RhB degradation rate reaching 97.3%. The excellent photoactivity of CdS HS/g-C3N4 is attributed to the synergistic effect of g-C3N4 and CdS HS. A possible photocatalytic mechanism of the CdS HS/g-C3N4 composite is proposed and corroborated by PL. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
