Circular electron positron colliders, such as the CEPC and FCC-ee, have been proposed to measure Higgs boson properties precisely, test the Standard Model, search for physics beyond the Standard Model, and so on. One of the important goals of these colliders is to measure the W boson mass with great precision by taking data around the W-pair production threshold. In this paper, the data-taking scheme is investigated to maximize the achievable precisions of the W boson mass and width with a threshold scan, when various systematic uncertainties are taken into account. The study shows that an optimal and realistic data-taking scheme is to collect data at three center-of-mass energies and that precisions of 1.0 MeV and 3.4 MeV can be achieved for the mass and width of the W boson, respectively, with a total integrated luminosity of L = 3.2 ab - 1 and several assumptions of the systematic uncertainty sources. Purpose: Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) is an important risk factor for colon cancer. Novel serum immunoinflammation-related protein complexes (IIRPCs) have shown associations with early cancer detection. Herein, we investigated the potential of serum IIRPCs for discriminating between IBD and colorectal cancer (CRC) patients. Methods: Serum protein complexes of 65 healthy controls, 57 CRC, 69 (ulcerative colitis) UC, and 67 (Crohn's disease) CD patients were isolated by native-PAGE. The gray values of serum IIRPCs bands in the gel were quantified using Quantity One software. The receiver-operating characteristic (ROC) curves were constructed to assess the discriminating ability by calculating the area under the ROC curve. Results: The serum IIRPCs levels in IBD and CRC patients were significantly elevated compared to healthy controls. ROC analysis indicated certain diagnostic ability of serum IIRPCs in differentiating IBD from CRC. Specifically, "a3" complex discriminated UC from CRC, with an AUC value of 0.722, sensitivity of 69.4% and specificity of 63.8%. Similarly, "b4" complex discriminated UC from CRC, with an AUC value of 0.709, sensitivity of 70.4%, and specificity of 60.0%. In addition, the "a3" complex also discriminated CD from CRC, with an AUC value of 0.785, sensitivity of 73.1%, and specificity of 74.1%, while the "b4" complex showed a tendency to discriminate CD from CRC, with an AUC value of 0.663, sensitivity of 67.9% and specificity of 50.0%. Thus, an equation based on multiple IIRPCs was built to further improve the discriminating power. Conclusions: Serum IIRPCs can be used to discriminate IBD from CRC and may also be associated with early screening of colitis-associated cancer. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Our objective was to analyse the clinical characteristics of systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) patients with gastrointestinal manifestations. Medical charts of 177 hospitalized SLE patients were systematically reviewed, including demographic data, clinical features, laboratory findings, and treatments, as well as outcomes. Thirty-nine cases (22.0%) had SLE-related gastrointestinal manifestations, and in 12 cases (30.8%), gastrointestinal manifestations occurred as the initial symptoms. Twenty-five cases (64.1%) had abdominal pain, 22 cases (56.4%) had nausea and vomiting, 12 cases (30.8%) had diarrhea, and gastrointestinal hemorrhage occurred in three cases (7.7%). Protein losing enteropathy and intestinal pseudo-obstruction were the most common identifiable gastrointestinal complications, though other reasons such as superior mesenteric venous thrombosis, pancreatitis, peritonitis, and liver impairment could also occur in SLE. The incidences of Raynaud's phenomenon and pyeloureterectasis were significantly higher in patients with gastrointestinal complications than those without (p<0.05). Multivariable analysis indicated Raynaud's phenomenon, decreased C3, CH50, and anti-neutrophil cytoplasmic antibody positivity were independent predictors of gastrointestinal involvements (p<0.05). Gastrointestinal complications are common, diverse, and could be the initial and major manifestations of lupus. SLE patients who had Raynaud's phenomenon, hypocomplementemia and positive anti-neutrophil cytoplasmic antibody were at increasing risk of developing gastrointestinal complication.
