In steel manufacturing, continuous annealing is a crucial heat treatment applied to cold-rolled steel strips to achieve a prescribed temperature, which will ensure quality in terms of mechanical properties. However, controlling this process is challenging because of slow furnace temperature dynamics, significant time delays, frequent changes in the steel mass flow rate, target annealing temperature changes induced by steel grade transitions, and multivariable interactions within the furnace zones. To address these challenges, Tata Steel, India, with consultancy support from the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay, developed a novel model predictive control (MPC) technology-based solution for a continuous annealing furnace, which produces automotive grade steels. The dynamic model was developed using data from both perturbation trials and scraping historical processes. We then converted the model to a discrete-time state-space form and used it to formulate an optimal control problem over a moving time window. The solution generates optimal furnace setpoints by solving this finite-horizon optimal control problem each minute, ensuring smooth temperature transitions during steel grade changes while avoiding operational constraint violations. Tata Steel successfully implemented an MPC-based real-time supervisory optimal control solution, which became fully operational in January 2023. The implementation of the solution has led to a significant improvement in the proportion of annealed products meeting the premium quality band (±5°C of the target temperature), increasing from 30% (manually operated) to 50% (MPC operated), thereby ensuring better uniformity of properties. Furthermore, an 8% reduction in products outside the widest band (±15°C) has prevented the reprocessing of 13,000 tons of material from one line alone, annually. We have seen a consistent 8% reduction in specific fuel consumption per ton of steel. When considering Tata Steel's current installations and those under commissioning, these improvements translate to savings of US$2.5 million and a reduction of 10,000 tons of CO2 emissions annually. The maritime transport sector is a crucial domestic and regional economic engine, and maritime clusters can significantly enhance business operations and a country's economy. South Asia does not have any recognised world-class maritime clusters but shows signs of intense clustering of the maritime sector. This study is the first to investigate the potential for maritime cluster development among ports in South Asia. The study adopted the following steps to reach a consensus on the clustering potential of eleven major south-Asian ports. First, experts were asked to rate eleven major South Asian ports on factors related to maritime cluster performance given by de Langen's cluster structure–cluster governance framework. These responses were used as input in the fuzzy-Delphi method to determine the weights of the factors. The ports were then ranked using the TOPSIS method based on their performance on these factors, which permitted an analysis of the long-term clustering potential of the evaluated South Asian port cities. The top three ranked ports were JNPT Mumbai, Port of Malé, and Port of Kolkata, offering valuable insights for port authorities, stakeholders, and policymakers to optimize resource usage and alleviate bottlenecks in South Asian maritime cluster development. Blockchain technology usage in education sector has a capacity to change the way academic records, diplomas, and credentials are maintained, communicated, and verified. Thus, this study aims at understanding the role of blockchain in the higher education sector. Mixed method approach was used in the study for a deeper understanding of the concept. Study 1 is qualitative in nature which includes the structured interviews. On the basis of transcripts generated from study 1, study 2 assimilates Technology Acceptance Model and Extended Theory of Planned Behaviour to study the adoption of blockchain technology in higher education institutes. Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modelling (PLS- SEM) has been applied to test the hypothesis derived. A total of 333 responses were gathered via offline and online modes from the state of Punjab, India. Further, the proposed model frame was tested and validated through SmartPLS software version 3.2.8. The results of the study reveals that Perceived Usefulness, Perceived Ease of Use, Attitude, Perceived Behaviour Control, Awareness and Regulatory Support were found significant whereas, Personal Norms and Facilitating Conditions were insignificant. The study tries to extend the existing knowledge about the application of blockchain in the education system. Moreover, the study contributes to society by providing practical implications for policy formulation regarding deployment of blockchain technology in higher education institutions. Migraine is one of the most common neurovascular disabling disorders encountered in Shalakya practice. Migraine can be defined as a paroxysmal affection having a sudden onset accompanied by usually unilateral severe headache. In Ayurveda, Migraine is described as Migraine which is a major health issue among people of age group 14 to 50 years. According to WHO, migraine is the third most common disease in the world with an estimated global prevalence of 14.7% (around 1 in 7 people). I Chronic Migraine affects about 2% of world population 2 with female and make ratio 3:1.3 It is a widespread, chronic and intermittently disabling disorder characterized by recurrent headaches with or without aura. The attack gives warning before it strikes black spots or a brilliant zigzag line appears before the eyes or the patient has blurring of vision or has part of his vision blanked out. It is also called as "sick headache" because nausea and vomiting occasionally accompany the excruciating pain which lasts for as long as three days. Suppressing migraine pain with NSAIDS and analgesics gives short term relief and the pain can rebound. Dependence on medicines decreases the body's natural pain relief mechanism and long-term dependence can damage kidneys, liver or other vital organs. Ayurveda believes in treating the disease at its root cause from within. Therefore, treatments focus on balancing the vitiated Doshas in the digestive and nervous systems. This can be achieved by avoiding triggering factors and prescribing doshic specific diet, stress management, herbal formulas, lifestyle modification Panchakarma, Kriyakalpa and other holistic modalities to create a balanced physiology. Discourse on the nature of the emotions and their role in moral life has been at the vortex of discussion in both Indian and Western philosophy for a long time. The present study was carried out to investigate cytological, histopathological and immunohistochemically expression of diagnostic marker (HER-2), proliferative marker (PCNA) and apoptotic marker (Bcl-2). A total of 30 canine mammary tumors (CMTs) samples were collected from TVCC, Bihar Veterinary College and in and around from Patna, India from the over period of September 2023 to February 2024. cytological findings of 24 cases out of 30, 16 cases were malignant, 6 cases were benign and 2 cases were inconclusive. Among Histological characterization of 30 CMTs, 24 were malignant, consisting of 14 carcinomas, 7 carcinosarcomas, 2 lipid-rich carcinomas and 1 fibrosarcoma, while 6 were benign. Histological diversity of CMTs provide little prognostic information, hence use of a Histological grading systems may be helpful for prognosis of CMTs. The malignancies were histologically graded as grade I, II, or III based on tubular structure formation, nuclear pleomorphism and mitotic index. Tumor-detectable biomarkers have potential applications in early diagnosis, prognoses, and evaluation of therapy response. Immunohistochemically analysis revealed HER-2 overexpression in 8% of cases, with weak or moderate membrane staining in 20.83% of cases. PCNA displayed weak nuclear staining in benign tumors and strong staining in most malignant tumors. Bcl-2 exhibited weak cytoplasmic staining in benign tumors and moderate to strong staining in higher-grade malignancies. The IHC expression of Her 2/neu, PCNA and BCL-2 were found to be positive/overexpressive in higher Grades of canine mammary tumours irrespective of their histo-subtypes. Immunohistochemically markers HER-2 overexpression in canine mammary tumors correlates with more aggressive behaviour, higher tumor grade, larger tumor size and poorer prognosis, PCNA and Bcl-2, associated with cell proliferation and apoptosis, respectively are frequently used in assessing CMTs. Since the advent of the Industrial Revolution, factories have been spewing out noxious substances at an unmitigated rate, leading to environmental degradation. The need for sustainable consumption has stoked the desire for green products. The study aims to contribute to the existing body of knowledge regarding the use of eco‐labels by firms in order to meet the consumers' green purchasing behaviour. The study employs a mixed‐method approach to investigate the underlying psychological aspects that affect consumers' green purchasing behaviour. The current study used the grounded theory method to identify themes and variables based on the data collected through interviews. These themes and variables were subsequently used to construct the conceptual framework for the qualitative analysis. The conceptual framework was then empirically tested using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modelling (PLS‐SEM) statistical analysis (quantitative analysis). The findings unfold potential areas where businesses, through eco‐labels, could transpire information and capitalise on this behavioural shift among consumers for green products. Background: In relation to dental implants, smoking has a number of detrimental consequences on the alveolar bone, such as decreased bone height, delayed bone healing, inadequate periimplant bone production, increased bone loss, and peri-implantitis. Smoking has a strong correlation with delayed implant failure, which is often shown in the second stage of implant surgery. Aim: The current clinical experiment set out to examine the impact of smoking on the marginal bone loss in dental implants and the survival rate of dental implants. Methods: Using smoking as a criterion, two groups of the 86 patients were created. There were forty-three smokers in Group I and no smokers in Group II. At three, six, and twelve months following implant loading, radiographic assessments of marginal bone loss were made. By measuring the distance from the implant (widest section) to the crest of the alveolar bone mesially and distally on digital intra-oral periapical radiographs, radiographic bone loss was examined in order to determine the smoking impact. Additionally, the clinical attachment level was assessed. Results: In the current study, the mean marginal loss seen in smokers at three months was 2.13±0.21, 2.46±0.09, 2.60±0.0.92, and 2.74±0.11 for the mandibular anterior, mandibular posterior, and maxillary anterior regions, respectively. At a year, the average bone loss rose to 2.6±0.10, 3.23±0.11, 3.30±0.075, and 3.20±0.093, respectively. A p-value of ~0.00001 indicated that this difference was statistically significant. The 12-month follow-up visit revealed a greater percentage of smokers with implant movement. Implant mobility was present in 13.95% (n=6) of the research individuals who were smokers and 6.97% (n=3) of the nonsmokers. Conclusion: The length and frequency of smoking are closely correlated with the risk of longterm implant failure. Furthermore, smoking is bad for dental implants and the bone that surrounds them. In industries including aerospace, automotive, and marine, a machined component's surface integrity is essential since it improves the corrosion resistance and fatigue life. Hastelloy C-276 is a superalloy based on nickel that is used in the chemical and petrochemical sectors due to its high hot strength, high heat resistance, and high corrosion resistance. In the present work, modelling and simulation of UAMAF process is done on flat work piece with the help of ANSYS Maxwell 16.0 software. The experimental setup for flat work piece on milling machine is modelled according to the dimensions of the experiment. These models are then simulated in ANSYS Maxwell 16.0. After validating the model, the obtained results of analysis were matched with the experimental output. The iron ore sintering process is the second largest energy consuming process next to the blast furnace in overall integrated steel plant value chain. Sintering consists of two moving beds, namely a sintering machine, and an annular cooler. Once the sintering is completed, hot sinter is discharged on the annular cooler and air is blown from the bottom with blowers for cooling the sinter to normal temperature. The present work focuses on investigating the transient heat transfer phenomenon between cooling air and hot sinter for estimating the temperature profile of the moving sinter bed. An unsteady state, one-dimensional mathematical model is developed considering conservation of mass, momentum, and energy transfer. A parametric study is conducted to investigate the effect of various process conditions such as void fraction of bed, differential pressure below sinter cooler on temperature of gas and solid, velocity of gas, average bed temperature and heat transfer between gas and solid. The model validated with industrial process data showing a good agreement and the temperature profile along the cooler length is predicted for a real time process conditions. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Introduction Approximately 2.5% of fatalities from cancer are caused by brain tumors. Even though there is literature regarding prognostic factor of adult brain tumor, studies often resort to Western demographics. Hence, we conducted this retrospective observational study to compare the demographic characteristics and prognosis in patients of glial tumors in Indian population with histological diagnosis with respect to age. Materials and Methods A single-center retrospective observational study with 76 patients of glioma who had been treated with surgery combined with radiotherapy with or without chemotherapy was conducted. Group I patients were aged less than or equal to 50 years and group II more than 50 years of age. There were 28 patients in group I and 48 in group II. Postoperatively, external beam radiation therapy was delivered in a conventional fraction (1.8 Gy/fraction, five fractions/week) using telecobalt 60. Ill patients who presented with grade III and IV gliomas received oral chemotherapy temozolomide at a dose of 100 mg daily during course of radiotherapy. Results The median age of the patients at the time of diagnosis was 45.0 years. More cases of hematologic toxicity occurred in group I than in group II. Total 55 patients were alive at 1-year follow-up (11 in group I and 44 in group II). Conclusion Grade I and II gliomas were predominant in less than 50 years of age and grade III and IV were predominant in more than 50 years age. Male preponderance was seen in age group of more than 50 years (68%). Overall survival and disease-free survival were better for patients aged less than 50 years. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

It is evident from the volumes of recently published research articles that 'maritime sustainability' is getting much attention nowadays. However, there has been a bias when it comes to the selection of maritime ports. The majority of studies have been done for European and North American ports, but very few have been done for Asian ports, especially when it comes to South-Asian ports. This research evaluated South Asia's eleven major maritime ports to identify significant environmental sustainability issues they are currently facing through extensive literature review and then sorting these issues based on the Importance-Performance Analysis (IPA) technique. Later, these eleven Major South-Asian ports were ranked based on these sorted issues using the Segmented String Relative Ranking algorithm, thereby analysing environmental sustainable practises at the selected South-Asian ports on a long term basis. Using ultrafast pump-probe reflectivity with a 3.1 eV pump and coherent white light probe (1.1–2.6 eV), we show that graphene on gold nanostructures exhibits a strong coupling to the plasmonic resonances of the ordered lattice hole array, thus injecting a high density of hot carriers in graphene through plasmons. The system being studied is single-layer graphene on an ultrathin film of gold with periodic arrangements of holes showing anomalous transmission. A comparison is made with gold film with and without hole array. By selectively probing transient carrier dynamics in the spectral regions corresponding to plasmonic resonances, we show efficient plasmon induced hot carrier generation in graphene. We also show that due to high electromagnetic field intensities at the edge of the submicron holes, fast decay time (10–100 fs), and short decay length (1 nm) of plasmons, a highly confined density of hot carriers (very close to the edge of the holes) is generated by Landau damping of plasmons within the holey gold film. A contribution to transient decay dynamics due to the diffusion of the initial nonuniform distribution of hot carriers away from the hole edges is observed. Our results are important for future applications of novel hot carrier device concepts where hot carriers with tunable energy can be generated in different graphene regions connected seamlessly. Background: Biomedical waste (BMW) management remains a problem area in India. Proper management depends upon knowledge and attitude of waste generating staff and other personnel involved. Objective: To assess Knowledge, Attitude and Practice regarding bio-medical management among health-care personnel by using a scoring system in secondary care hospitals in Prayagraj district. Methodology: Sample size was calculated to be 470. The study subjects were selected from each stratum of personnel randomly in proportion to the size of strata from both urban and rural. Data was collected using questionnaire and assessment of knowledge, attitude and practices was done on the basis of scoring system described by Kaliyaperumal. Results: It was observed that in urban hospitals 60.91% doctors, 58.25% nurses, 44.45% lab technicians and 30.76 % sanitary staff were having high level of knowledge with a score of >20 and in rural hospitals, 38(54.2%) doctors, 20(47.61%) nurses, 9(32.14%) lab technicians and 8(22.85%) sanitary staff were having high level of knowledge. In urban hospitals,{70 (80.45%) doctors, 91(88.34%) nurses, 23(85.18%) lab technician and 65(80.76%) sanitary staff and in rural hospitals, {58(82.85%) doctor, 39(92.85%) nurses, 22(78.57%) lab technician, and 31(88.57%) sanitary staff} were having favourable attitude with a score of >6. In both urban and rural hospital, the practice scores of majority of healthcare personnel were satisfactory i.e. in the range of (3-6). Purpose: This paper explores the relationships between Industry 4.0-driven technologies and the circular economy-driven business model (CEDBM) components of value creation, delivery and capture along manufacturing processes. Design/methodology/approach: Based on the literature, a research model is developed in which the three CEBDM components are represented by five components: product service system (PSS), product design, industrial symbiosis (IS), consumer interaction and pay-per-use/rental. For each of these five components, enabling Industry 4.0 technologies are identified and vague interdependence relationships were assessed using a fuzzy decision-making trial and evaluation laboratory (DEMATEL) method. Findings: This paper contributes to the literature by exploring the relationships of the CEDBM components of value creation, value delivery and value capture with Industry 4.0-driven technological enablers. In addition, causal relationships between Industry 4.0 technologies and their relevance for facilitating CE-enabled manufacturing processes are identified, and finally, Industry 4.0-driven technological enablers of CE are categorized as base and front-end technologies. Research limitations/implications: The findings suggest that value delivery-based differentiation provides new avenues for value creation and innovative forms of value capture in CEDBMs. Practical implications: Practitioners can use the findings to develop a roadmap for Industry 4.0-driven technological solutions for CE. Social implications: CE-driven processes of manufacturing provide not only opportunities for value capture, creation and delivery but also avenues for customer-centric product and service development and effective resource utilization. Purpose: This paper explores the enablers of modular healthcare services. Design/methodology/approach: A survey-based approach was adopted with specialised hospitals as the unit of analysis. A structural model was developed based on a literature review and assessed using a cross-sectional research design. A 23-indicator questionnaire was circulated among service providers in the healthcare system across India, and 286 valid responses were received. The data were analysed using partial least squares-structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM). Findings: The results reveal that professional competence, technological versatility, clear division of tasks, channelised flow of information and professional autonomy act as enablers that may drive modular service delivery. Research limitations/implications: By examining service providers' perspectives, this paper highlights the influence of the identified enablers on modular service delivery in healthcare organisations. Practical implications: For practitioners, the study provides suggestions for designing patient-centric healthcare services via modular healthcare delivery. The identified structural relationships can facilitate immediate corrective actions and the formulation of future policies. The findings will help practitioners foresee opportunities for patient participation in value co-creation, meet patients' varying needs, decompose service offerings, mix and match components develop sets of rules as interfaces between service modules and design service packages on an ongoing basis. Social implications: This study underscores the emergence of patient-centric care and may aid the design of processes that deliver health to the patient as a person. Background: The definition of health by World Health Organization acknowledges mental wellbeing as one of the important component of healthy life. At present around 17.13 million older adults are suffering from mental health problems in India. Hence, in order to determine the current scenario of psychological health issues faced by people in their old age and the factors associated with various problems in Prayagraj, this study was taken up. Objective: To determine prevalence of psychological health Illness and their associated factors in elderly population. Material and Method: This cross-sectional community based study was done on 483 elderly population of Prayagraj. The data was collected using interview method by pretested structured questionaire. The psychological problems were accessed using validated GHQ-H scale. The data was analysed on epi info version 7 and chi-square test was used at p value < 0.05 significance. Results: The prevalence of definitive Psychiatric morbidity among the elderly population was found at 13.7%. Gender, marital status, education status and certain physical morbidities like oro-dental problems, hearing impairment and respiratory problems were found to be significantly associated with psychological health in elderly age group. Conclusions: psychological illness among the elderly population in the community is rather prevalent which goes unnoticed and it was found to be significantly associated with Female gender, Living without spouse, and having some physical morbidities. Purpose: This paper identifies sources of disruptions that impede resilience in the dairy supply chain in an emerging economy context. Design/methodology/approach: A case study approach is used. The unit of analysis is the Indian dairy supply chain (IDSC). Data were collected from nine major dairy cooperatives and five major private firms operating across the Indian states. A total of 28 face-to-face semi-structured interviews were conducted with two individuals from each case dairy organisation during January 2016 to December 2017. Findings: Disruption sources in the IDSC are both external and internal and impact the quality of products and the distribution network. Compared to developed economies, in an emerging economy context such as India, the number of disruptions is very high. These disruptions negatively impact resilience and affect efficiency, flexibility, responsiveness and product quality. Research limitations/implications: The findings stress the importance of integration across upstream and downstream processes in the IDSC. However, contextual factors should also be considered when designing the supply chain configuration. Small supply sources may be conceptualised as distributed sources that can be consolidated on the move using logistics and IT-enabled solutions. Moreover, the underlying processes of the dairy supply chain need to adapt to the external environment, and internal causes of disruptions should be eliminated through process redesign. Practical implications: The findings highlight that the efficient operation of the IDSC is challenged by disruptions, the fragmentation of various stages and poor support infrastructure. The findings may be useful in managing supply networks which have linkages in emerging economies. Social implications: The upstream stage of the IDSC involves many small- and medium-sized unorganised producers. The overall inefficiency and poor value generation across the entire IDSC constrain the livelihood and interests of these unorganised producers. Therefore, supply chain design needs to be aligned with social context. Originality/value: The central contribution of this article is to present sources of disruptions that impact dairy supply chain performance in an emerging economy context. This article aims to identify teachers' accountability in the context of higher educational institutions (HEIs). Most of the literature has used student-oriented outcomes as basic building blocks of accountability. This article contributes to the literature by gauging teachers' perceptions in conceptualising accountability in the HEIs. Indicators of accountability have been identified from the literature. Decision-making trial and evaluation laboratory (DEMATEL) method has been used to explore the nature of interrelationships among these indicators. Results reveal that accountability indicators have varying impact and some of these indicators have cause and effect type of relationship among them. The article underscores the role of performance-based accountability system (PBAS) which will help in assessing and evaluating teachers in the HEIs. It is argued that accountability strengthens the autopoietic nature of the HEIs and enables underlying knowledge generation and dissemination processes. Using accountability indicators, teachers can self-assess their performance and adapt to evolving needs of students, businesses, and societal stakeholders. Purpose: The purpose of this paper is to understand the meaning and operationalisation of quality of service (QoS) in the context of higher education institutions (HEIs). Design/methodology/approach: A systematic literature review of 167 articles published in various peer-reviewed journals between 1990 and 2019 is performed. Findings: The findings reveal that around 40 dimensions have been used to conceptualise QoS in HEIs. Reliability followed by responsiveness, tangibility, empathy, assurance, programme design, academic and non-academic processes, reputation and facilities have received the highest attention. The most popular approach is empirical, and surveys and single-context studies are the most popular methods. The United Kingdom (UK) leads research on quality in HEIs, followed by the United States of America (USA) and India. Research limitations/implications: This paper contributes to the body of knowledge by presenting a comprehensive synthesis of articles addressing QoS in HEIs. Practical implications: Policymakers and academic administrators can use the findings of this study to conceptualise student satisfaction along the educational value chain. The discussion on HEIs' and students' perspectives will help policymakers create teaching excellence. Purpose: The purpose of this paper is to take the neglected influencing factors in brand alliance research into account based on consumer characteristics theory and discuss the influencing factors' interactive effects on brand alliance. Design/methodology/approach: Based on the theory of consumer characteristics and the S&R model of brand alliance, an experimental design was conducted to examine the relationship among the various variables and moderators, which can test the changes of the dependent variables by controlling and manipulating one or more single variables. The sample includes 400 college students. Findings: The results demonstrate that brand knowledge positively moderates the relationship between brand equity and consumer brand alliance, but not significantly affect the relationship between alliance evaluation and joint fit; in contrast, product involvement individually plays a positive moderating role on the relationship between joint fit, brand equity and consumer brand alliance evaluation. Originality/value: Two consumer characteristic, brand knowledge and product involvement moderate the relationship between brand equity, joint fit and consumer brand alliance evaluation. Several empirical studies on brand alliance have documented mostly positive effects of brand alliance on consumer brand evaluations. Two important consumer characteristics' effect on brand alliance evaluation, brand knowledge and product involvement, were testified to expand the scope of influential factors of brand alliance evaluation on the basis of consumers' characteristic theory. Purpose: This study aims to examine the relationship between brand personality and customer-based brand equity (CBBE) by investigating the mediating role of consumer-brand relationship (CBR), which is represented through three variables, namely, brand trust, attachment and commitment. Design/methodology/approach: This study adopts a cross-sectional descriptive research design. It included a mix of symbolic and utilitarian brands, namely, Pepsi and Sprite (soft drinks), Levi's and Peter England (clothing), Pantene and Head and Shoulders (shampoos) based on their greater familiarity among Indian consumers. Primary data were gathered from 612 respondents through a self-administered online questionnaire survey approach. Structural equation modeling was performed to analyze data and validate the research model. Findings: The present study establishes both direct, as well as the indirect linkage between brand personality and CBBE. Results also suggest a partial mediating role of the variables representing CBR while linking brand personality to CBBE. Originality/value: The present study makes two contributions. First, it advances existing literature on brand personality and brand equity by establishing the mediating role of the CBR while linking brand personality to CBBE. Purpose: This paper aims to explore antecedents and consequences of care coordinated pathways in healthcare. The relationships among constructs of cross-functional teamwork, mutual communication, goal alignment, shared accountability, care coordinated pathways and patient-centricity were explored. Design: Based on the review of literature, a structural model was developed. Indicators of each construct were identified from the literature. A 22-item questionnaire was used for data collection. Data were gathered from service providers operating in the Indian healthcare system. A total of 246 valid responses were received. The data were analyzed using partial least square structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM). Findings: Results reveal that cross-functional teamwork, mutual communication, goal alignment, shared accountability act as antecedents for care coordinated pathways and patient-centricity emerges as a consequence. Research implications: The paper contributes to the healthcare literature by identifying antecedents and consequences of care coordinated pathways and developing a structural relationship among constructs of cross-functional teamwork, mutual communication, goal alignment, shared accountability, care coordinated pathways and patient-centricity. Practical Implications: Taking insights from findings, practitioners may develop an overarching strategy to deliver seamless care and to achieve better health outcomes. Background: Elderly patients with head-and-neck cancer (HNC) are increasing in number. Outcome of HNC with relation to age is controversial. Methods: In this hospital-based retrospective study, medical records of 76 patients of HNC who were treated with surgery followed by radiotherapy or radiotherapy with or without chemotherapy were analysed. The patients were divided into two age groups: Group I patients =55 years and Group II patients <55 years. Patient characteristics, treatment and toxicities were evaluated. They were followed-up clinically and radiologically up to a median time of 16 months. Results: Complete response was 94.4% and 80.05% in Group I and II, respectively. Disease-free survival (DFS) was 53.67% and 47.8% in Group I and II, respectively (P = 0.332), whereas overall survival (OS) was 67.34% and 49.42% in two groups, respectively (P = 0.234); hence, DFS and OS are not statistically significant. Conclusion: Complete response was more frequently among patients older than 55 years in comparison to patients younger than 55 years, even though the dose delivered to them is lower. There was no statistically significant difference in both groups with respect to DFS and OS. The performance of a structure depends on its material characteristics under various conditions of loadings, strain rate, and temperature, and therefore, it is necessary to understand these characteristics properly for the safe and reliable design of structures. In this paper, the flow stress behavior of AZ81 magnesium alloy is determined under tensile, compressive, and flexural loads at different strain rates and temperatures. An electromechanical universal testing machine of capacity 250 kN is used to perform quasi-static tests (0.0001–0.1 s−1) under tension and compression; and three-point bending (flexure) tests using suitable fixtures at crosshead speeds (1–100 mm/min) for varying span lengths (80–160 mm) and orientations (flat and transverse) at room temperature, 25°C. The thermal and fracture behaviors of the alloy at various temperatures (25°C, 100°C, 150°C, and 200°C) are studied under quasi-static tension (0.001 s−1). The heating rate of the tensile specimens is 20°C/min and the soaking time is 15 min. Dynamic tensile (850–1,400 s−1) and compressive (1,900–3,300 s−1) experiments are conducted using appropriate arrangements of Hopkinson bar systems. The effects of specimen geometry on the flow stress of the alloy are observed under compression. Ductility and toughness are determined to establish the energy dissipation capacity of the alloy. Fractographs of the fractured tensile specimens are studied by scanning electron microscope (SEM). An experimental investigation on the mechanical properties of AZ61 magnesium alloy is presented under tensile, compressive, and flexural loads. Quasi-static experiments under tension and compression are performed at strain rates of 0.0001–0.1 s−1 , while flexural (three-point bending) tests are conducted at cross-head speeds 1–100 mm/min for different span lengths (80–160 mm) and orientations (flat and transverse) of flexure specimens at room temperature 25°C. Experiments at 100°C, 150°C, and 200°C are carried out under tension. The heating rate and soaking time of the specimens are 8°C/min and 15 min, respectively. Dynamic tests on tension (700–1,150 s−1) and compression (1,600–4,000 s−1) are performed at room temperature. It is found that the alloy is positively sensitive to tensile, compressive, and flexural loads and negatively sensitive to thermal loads. The effects of specimen geometry are observed on the compressive properties of the alloy. The mechanisms of material failure are studied by scanning electron microscope (SEM), and it is found that the propensity of dimple pattern fracture increases with increasing temperature. Carrier dynamics in metallic nanostructures is strongly influenced by their confining dimensions. Gold nanoparticles of size ∼ 2 nm which fill the transition space separating metallic and non-metallic behavior. In this work, we report carrier dynamics in high aspect ratio ultrathin gold nanowires (Au-UNWs) of average diameter ∼ 2 nm using pump (3.1 eV) and coherent white light continuum as probe in the spectral range of 1.15 to 2.75 eV. The transient carrier dynamics in Au-UNWs under extreme excitation regime is slower than predicted by the often used two-temperature model. We identify Auger-assisted carrier heating process which slows down the hot carrier cooling dynamics. Purpose: The purpose of this paper is to explore the antecedents and consequences of a value-dense environment in healthcare service delivery. Design/methodology/approach: A structural model was developed based on a literature review. Circulation of a 31-indicator questionnaire among service receivers in the healthcare system across India generated 279 valid responses. The research model was assessed using a cross-sectional research design, and the data were analyzed by partial least squares-structural equation modeling. Findings: Integrated supply chain performance (ISCP), internal service quality (ISQ) and coordinated care are antecedents of a value-dense environment, which drives patient-centricity. The leagile supply chain strategy strengthens the relationship between ISCP and coordinated care. Employee trust and commitment acts as a moderator between coordinated care and ISQ. Research limitations/implications: By adopting the perspective of service receivers, this paper highlights the influence of value-density on patient-centricity in healthcare organizations. Future research should include healthcare professionals' perceptions of value-dense environment creation. Practical implications: The study provides suggestions to practitioners for designing patient-centric healthcare services by leveraging ISCP, coordinated care and ISQ in the value-creation process. Recognizing the relationships among these constructs can aid the timely formulation of corrective actions and future policies. Social implications: This study underscores patient-centric care as a basis for effectively delivering healthcare as a social good. Starting with the scalar wave equation and relevant expressions for nonlinear dielectric constant of plasma, the propagation of a Gaussian ripple on a plane wave front of uniform intensity has been studied in the paraxial approximation. In the plane of the ripple width (along the y axis) and the ratio of the electric field intensities of the ripple and the main beam at r=0, z=0, (along the x axis) three distinct regions (for a given intensity of the main beam) can be identified which correspond to steady divergence, oscillatory divergence, and self-focusing of the ripple. The Burr type-XII distribution have considered for the Bayes estimation under the linear exponential (LINEX) loss function. We consider here type-I progressive hybrid (T-IPH) censoring criterion, combined with step-stress partially accelerated life (SS-PALT) test for the present study. The Bayes risks under simulation using Metropolis-Hastings (M-H) algorithm and the real data set has obtained from the LINEX loss function. Based on the Bayes risks we discussed here the fruitfulness of the above scenario under three different criteria. The optimal stress change time also has been measured by the method of minimization of the asymptotic variance of maximum likelihood (ML) estimation. There are a number of applications for artificial conducting regions at a convenient ionospheric height and electron density. As a convenient means to this end, we have proposed and explored the production of high-electron-density regions in the atmosphere in daytime by suspension of low work function dust, specifically Cs-coated bronze in the atmosphere. Accretion of electrons and ions on dust particles and photoelectric emission from dust play the key role in getting a steady state dusty plasma with desired electron density at high altitudes (30-60 km). The basic equations of kinetics of dusty air in sunlight have been introduced and a numerical estimate of the day time electron density at 30- and 60-km altitudes (mid-latitudes) as a function of dust parameters has been obtained. A discussion of the numerical results is provided in this article. The present method offers the additional advantage of flexibility in height and the corresponding electron density. Purpose: The purpose of this study is to assess the relationship between patient-centricity, care coordination and delivery of quality care for older people with multiple chronic conditions. Care coordination is defined as a process where physicians, nurses and allied professionals work together to clarify responsibilities, care objectives, treatment plans and discharge plans for delivery of unified care. Patient-centricity is defined as an approach of delivering quality care to patients that focuses on creating a positive experience for them. Design/methodology/approach: A literature review was used to identify measures of care coordination and then partial least square structural equation modeling was used to assess interrelationship among patient-centricity, measures of care coordination and delivery of quality care. Findings: Results reveal that care coordinated pathways consist of IT-enabled coordination, interprofessional teamwork, information sharing and facilitative infrastructure requirements and are influenced by patient-centricity. These are deliberate requisites for delivering of quality care. Results of this study present a validated model of care coordination for older people, which may be further explored to refine the concept of care coordination. Practical implications: Based on these results, practitioners may develop an overarching strategy to deliver seamless care and to achieve better health outcomes. Measures of care coordination may be used as a performance benchmarking tool and will also help in the process mapping of hospitals. Social implications: This paper highlights how patient-centricity may be achieved by focusing on coordinated care processes. This understanding may help in designing processes, which in turn deliver health as a social good in an effective manner. We report a polymer-based sensor that rapidly detects cancer based on changes in serum protein levels. Using three ratiometric fluorescence outputs, this simple system identifies early stage and metastatic lung cancer with a high level of accuracy exceeding many biomarker-based assays, making it an attractive strategy for point-of-care testing. Based on step-stress partially accelerated life test (SS-PALT) under the progressive type-II censored Rayleigh data, the present article developed some inference regarding the approximate confidence intervals (ACI) on the normal approximation to the asymptotic distribution of maximum likelihood estimation (MLE) and percentile bootstrap confidence intervals (PBCI). Purpose The purpose of this paper is to review the service quality (SQ) literature in order to understand issues involved in its conceptualization and operationalization.Design/methodology/approach The paper uses systematic literature review method. The unit of analysis is peer-reviewed journal articles published during 1984 to 2017.Findings Findings suggest manufacturing, banking, information technology, higher education, healthcare are the top sectors contributing to the SQ literature. More than 60 models of the SQ have been identified. Service-driven capabilities may be structured along adaptation with strategic drivers and imperatives, learning and alignment, and problem structuring. In doing so the SQ literature is evolving across overlapping phases of conceptualization, expansion, re-conceptualization and integration.Research limitations/implications The paper contributes to the body of knowledge by presenting a unified synthesis of more than 814 articles published in the last three decades.Practical implications Insights from the paper will help practitioners in understanding customers' expectations and accordingly configuring effective service delivery systems, setting standards and communicating value to end-customers.
