Testicular torsion causes ischemia and free radical formation by obstructing vascular flow caused by complete or partial rotation of the testis. Myricetin is a plant-derived flavonoid with various biological effects, such as potent anti-oxidation and anti-inflammatory properties. The study aims to evaluate the protective effects of myricetin on the apoptosis of testicular germ cells after experimental testicular torsion. Twenty-four Wistar albino rats were divided into four groups; Control, Sham, Torsion group (720 deg torsion for 2 h), and Myricetin group (torsion model was created, and myricetin injection (1.5 mg/kg) was done during seven days). End of the experiment, testis tissues were removed and fixed in Bouin's solution. Crossman's triple stain was done to determine the histological changes. Also, 8-OHdG and Caspase-3 immunoreactivities were assessed, and TUNEL staining was done. According to the results, we found that 8-OHdG, Caspase-3 immunoreactivity, and TUNEL-positive cells increased, accompanied by several histopathological changes in the torsion group. In contrast, myricetin significantly attenuated testicular injury by reducing apoptosis and DNA damage. These findings suggest that myricetin protects testes against torsion-induced damage in rats, possibly by reducing oxidative stress and inhibiting apoptosis. Type people to land relations are dynamic and, as a consequence, the nature of land title and cadastral data is of a dynamic nature. Land title and cadastral data are core components for a lot of property applications (e.g. taxation, valuation, mortgage). Those applications require up to date, complete and reliable data – including temporal data as in use in application forms and transactions. In this paper, the modelling of Rights, Restrictions and Responsibilities (RRR) is discussed with a focus on the modelling of easement rights in a case study in Turkey. Functional requirements with respect to the characteristics of easement rights are investigated based upon interviews with professional experts in the public and private sector. Then a prototype model was built based on a simple implementation of the Land Administration Domain Model (LADM) RRR classes and by conforming to the national cadastral data management standards related to land registration systems. This new proposed model includes temporal cadastral attributes related to easements. This is materialised in the 'Administrative Package' and illustrated in the Turkey LADM country profile. We show that the LADM can be used to describe for the time dimension of cadastral information in Turkey, but that there are semantic differences, similarities and mismatches of classes and attributes between the LADM and the cadastral information system in Turkey. This paper investigates the adoption of ISO 19152, Geographic information — Land Administration Domain Model (LADM), for improvement of the current Turkey Land Information System (TLIS) data model and provides a brief overview of the current land information system in Turkey emphasising the main issues in creating the national information infrastructure. Then, the general concept of the country profile for Turkey with the adaptation of the LADM is described. In this context, the core data model of TLIS has been reviewed against the corresponding LADM basic classes. The proposed LADM for TLIS can be used to describe LA information in Turkey, although there are similarities, semantic differences and mismatches of classes and attributes between them. The results of study indicate that effective functioning of the information infrastructure requires proper integration of data, proceeded by analysing the contents of existing data sets, indicating key registers and defining a linkage system between them. Nowadays, the nature of land title and cadastral (LTC) data in the Turkey is dynamic from a temporal perspective which depends on the LTC operations. Functional requirements with respect to the characteristics are investigated based upon interviews of professionals in public and private sectors. These are; Legal authorities, Land Registry and Cadastre offices, Highway departments, Foundations, Ministries of Budget, Transportation, Justice, Public Works and Settlement, Environment and Forestry, Agriculture and Rural Affairs, Culture and Internal Affairs, State Institute of Statistics (SIS), execution offices, tax offices, real estate offices, private sector, local governments and banks. On the other hand, spatio-temporal LTC data very important component for creating infrastructure of Land Administration Model (LADM). For this reason, spatio-temporal LTC data needs for LADM not only updated but also temporal. The investigations ended up with determine temporal analyses of LTC data, traditional LTC system and tracing temporal analyses in traditional LTC system. In the traditional system, the temporal analyses needed by all these users could not be performed in a rapid and reliable way. The reason for this is that the traditional LTC system is a manual archiving system. The aims and general contents of this paper: (1) define traditional LTC system of Turkey; (2) determining the need for spatio-temporal LTC data and analyses for core domain model for LADM. As a results of temporal and spatio-temporal analysis LTC data needs, new system design is important for the Turkish LADM model. Designing and realizing an efficient and functional Temporal Geographic Information Systems (TGIS) is inevitable for the Turkish LADM core infrastructure. Introduction: Hearing loss is a major public health problem in the world. In general, 10% of the population has a hearing loss that is high enough to disrupt communication. This rate rises to 40% in the population over 65 years of age. Presbiacusia is the major cause of hearing loss in individuals over 65 years of age. Presbycusis is a sensorineural hearing loss and the hearing aid is very important in the rehabilitation of patients with sensorineural hearing loss. This study aims to determine the rate of hearing aid use and efficiency in the geriatric population of Turkey. Material and methods: This is a retrospective study. Therefore, hearing aid information was obtained from audiogram data if it exists. PTA (between 500-4000 Hz), SDS, SRT values and hearing aid usage data were gathered from 3127 patients who applied to the hospital and complied to the inclusion criteria. In addition, the SRT values and SDS percentages of 332 individuals using hearing aids in this patient group were included in the study. The participants were divided into 6 groups (59--65, 65--70, 70--75, 75--80, 80--85, and 85+) according to their age. Changes in the SRT and SDS values of these groups after using hearing aids were statistically determined. Results: For all age groups, the number of people in need of hearing aids and the number of people using hearing aids were determined. On average, 71.22% of all individuals included in the study needed hearing aids, however only 10.6% used hearing aids. A statistical significance was observed between SRT values before hearing aid use and SRT values after hearing aid use for each group. Similarly, a statistically significant difference was observed between the percentages of SDS before and after the use of hearing aids for each group (p<0.01). However, the improvement in SRT and SDS values were not found as expected. The mean SRT value was found as 68 dB without hearing aid and 45.75 with hearing aid for the sixth group. When SDS values with and without hearing aids were compared for all age groups, SDS values did not exceed 76% in any group. Conclusions: Hearing aid usage rates of the same age groups are similar to reported values in the literature. However, this rate is quite low compared to the need for hearing aids in the geriatric population. After the use of the hearing aid, SRT levels decreased and SDS percentages increased. However, the best SRT value was found as 38.55 dB which is higher than normal values. Failure to use hearing aids in patients who need to wear hearing aids may cause hearing loss to progress and impair daily communication. Therefore, hearing aid awareness and finding the suitable hearing aid are important in the rehabilitation of the geriatric population. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The article presents a case study on the chemical colitis caused by some chemicals found in disinfectants. It states that the hydrogen peroxide which was formed when the peracetic acid dissolves in water may cause chemical colitis based on the study of S. Morini and colleagues. Also mentioned that acute colitis may be developed after using of disinfectants which contain peracetic acid based on the study of T. Coton and colleagues.

The article presents a case study of a patient with recurrent acute pancreatitis which was due to a large Peutz-Jeghers-type hamartomatous polyp. Topics discussed include the symptoms of the patient, the results of abdominal ultrasonography, computed tomography (CT) and endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP), and polypectomy performed on the patient.
