The subject of this investigation is the influence of cold plasma spray on seeds of sowtwood seedlings during pre-treatment. The aim of work is method development for using cold plasma spray to prepare sowtwood seeds for dropping in order to increase germination percentage, improve germination, rooting and accelerated growth of seedlings of economically valuable coniferous species. Primary material is water that after special treatment is able to activate all required processes in seeds for accelerated germination. Besides, treatment made by cold plasma spray doesn't cause any physiological changes in plant living tissues, and ultraviolet light used during technological process makes bactericidal effect. The results of conducted work are experiment data on common spruce (Picea abies L.) and common pine (Pinus sylvestris L.) seeds treatment by cold plasma spray in laboratory conditions, hereafter grown in the greenhouse complex, and development of the method of cold plasma spray usage to prepare softwood seeds for dropping. Pine seeds, passed through special treatment, showed a large germination on the 7th day, and seeds, treated according to traditional technologies, only on 10-12th day. Treated to the same technology spruce seeds at the end of 1 month showed germinating about 77- 78% that is close to germination in laboratory conditions. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
