Achieving carbon peaking and carbon neutrality goals is a fundamental requirement for advancing high-quality development in China. Carbon emission efficiency (CEE) indicates the proportion of optimal emissions to actual emissions in the production system, providing a basis for reasonable carbon emission reductions. To facilitate the realisation of China's goals, this paper analyses CEE and the carbon emission reduction potential in China from 2001 to 2020. Considering the heterogeneity of both regions and industries, this paper proposes a three-hierarchy meta-frontier directional distance function (DDF) method to measure CEE under convex and non-convex assumptions of production possibility set (PPS). The empirical results show that the assumption of convex or non-convex axiom on the innermost PPS has a great impact on efficiency distribution, and the distribution of technology gap rate (TGR) is more affected by the selection of convex or non-convex assumption compared with the distribution of CEE. Currently, China's carbon emission efficiency remains low, mostly due to management inefficiency. The primary industry has more advanced emission reduction technologies than the other two industries. We employed first-principles calculations to investigate the effect of chemical doping on the lithiation kinetics and dynamic properties of the c–Si anode. Our ab initio molecular dynamics simulations reveal that phosphorous/arsenic doping can greatly enhance the lithiation kinetics of c–Si, whereas boron doping is unable to produce such an improvement. Our calculations also show that boron doping could enhance Li insertion into c–Si, but phosphorous/arsenic doping tends to increase the insertion energy of Li ions. Although the migration energy barriers of Li ions may slightly increase (decrease) in the boron-(phosphorus-/arsenic-)doped c–Si, these changes were only effective within the range of the nearest-neighbor distance from dopants. Furthermore, it was found that the phosphorus-/arsenic-doped Si can be more ductile and can more easily undergo plastic deformation upon lithiation, while the c–Si matrix becomes more brittle and stiffer when doped with boron. Our simulation results also demonstrate that phosphorous- and arsenic-doping can effectively speed up the Li-induced structural amorphization of c–Si while boron doping appears to severely slow it down. These findings unambiguously indicate that the induced mechanical softening of the c–Si bond network can be the primary factor that leads to the enhanced lithiation kinetics in the n-type doped c–Si anodes. As a high-energy density material, polymeric nitrogen has attracted considerable attention, while the exceptionally high synthesis pressure hinders its studies and applications. A significant discovery indicates that the insertion of noble gas elements can effectively reduce the synthesis pressure of polymeric nitrogen compounds. This work utilized the particle swarm optimization algorithm and first-principles calculations to extensively explore the stoichiometry of Xe–N compounds under high pressures. Two phases of XeN14, P6mm and P-62m, have been discovered, which are energetically more stable than the basic mixture of Xe and N2. Evidence of charge transfer between Xe and N was found, verifying that Xe plays a crucial role in forming polymeric nitrogen compounds. These two compounds are kinetically stable at pressures ranging from 50 to 200 GPa and exhibit semiconductor properties. A unique channel-like structure was discovered in the P6mm phase. The energy densities of P6mm and P-62m phases are 7.39 and 7.59 kJ/g, respectively, significantly exceeding those of TNT (Trinitrotoluene) and HMX (Octogen), indicating their potential as high-energy density materials. Resistive Random Access Memory (RRAM) is considered one of the most promising candidates for big data storage. By using atomic layer deposition and magnetron sputtering, HfO2 thin films were prepared on ITO first, which exhibited good resistive switching (RS) characteristics in the structure of Ag/HfO2/ITO. By analyzing the RS mechanism, it is found that both metal conductive filaments and oxygen vacancy conductive filaments coexisted and Sn ion in ITO can influence the retention of RRAM. Furthermore, a device in the structure of Ag/HfO2/Pt was proposed and prepared, which exhibited excellent RS characteristics, including an ultrahigh switching ratio averaging up to 108 and low operating voltage. It is concluded that the difference in the work function between the top and bottom electrodes contributes to improving the switching ratio, reducing the operating voltage. In addition, the Ag/HfO2/Pt device is similar to the Ag/HfO2-based threshold switching selector in the structure and in characteristics of high switching ratio, besides non-volatile memory. Hence, the device is functionally equivalent to the combination of an RRAM and a threshold switching selector. It is the potential way to replace the conventional 1S1R structure memory. The century-long problem of conversion of plastic work to heat is controversial and challenging. In this work, 2D and 3D molecular simulations of crystal Cu are carried out to study the micro-mechanism of plastic work converting to heat. The results show that heat generation comes along with lattice restoration, transferring part of potential energy of defects, i.e., stored energy of cold work (SECW), to kinetic energy. As a result, specific crystallographic defects generate amounts of heat corresponding to variations of their SECW. If the change of microstructure and temperature are only detected at the surface of the system, the time lag of heat generation will be observed. The simulation results are indispensable accompaniments of experimental research, unveiling how plastic heat is affected by the type, propagation path, and density of defects, providing nano-scale explanations for the time lag of temperature rising in experiments. As social media influencer endorsement gains significance in marketing communication, an increasing number of influencers have started to incorporate product information into their sponsored content. This study examines the effectiveness of product attribute description in the context of sponsored videos. Using a field dataset of 598 sponsored videos, we demonstrate that influencers' use of product attribute description as an endorsement strategy has a negative impact on video engagement, and this effect is stronger for trial versus awareness campaigns. However, the negative impact is reversed to a positive one when product attribute description is employed for utilitarian products but not for hedonic products. These results reveal that the effectiveness of product attribute description depends on the nature of the product and the campaign objectives. Overall, this study contributes to the understanding of influencer marketing effectiveness and sheds light on the nuances of endorsement strategies. We demonstrate the change of the sign from negative to positive of the self-powered photovoltaic photocurrent in core–shell n-InGaN/p-GaN nanowire heterojunctions within the visible to UV wavelength range. Such dual-polarity photodetectors are of broad interest to provide extended functionalities for optoelectronic devices, starting with dual-wavelength photodetectors. The physics of the photocurrent sign reversal is understood by a well-balanced selective absorption and photocarrier generation, photocarrier transfer, and thermal excitation paths in the core–shell n-InGaN/p-GaN nanowire functional absorber with different bandgap energies and opposite inner- and surface energy band bendings. Inert gases (e.g., He and Xe) can exhibit chemical activity at high pressure, reacting with other substances to form compounds of unexpected chemical stoichiometry. This work combines first-principles calculations and crystal structure predictions to propose four unexpected stable compounds of CH4Xe3, (CH4)2Xe, (CH4)3Xe, and (CH4)3Xe2 at pressure ranges from 2 to 100 GPa. All structures are composed of isolated Xe atoms and CH4 molecules except for (CH4)3Xe2, which comprises a polymerization product, C3H8, and hydrogen molecules. Ab initio molecular dynamics simulations indicate that pressure plays a very important role in the different temperature driving state transitions of CH4–Xe compounds. At lower pressures, the compounds follow the state transition of solid–plastic–fluid phases with increasing temperature, while at higher pressures, the stronger Xe–C interaction induces the emergence of a superionic state for CH4Xe3 and (CH4)3Xe2 as temperature increases. Much of the current research on sprint start has attempted to analyze the biomechanical characteristics of elite athletes to provide guidance on the training of sprint technique, with less attention paid to the effects of motor experience gained from long-term training on neuromuscular control characteristics. The present study attempted to investigate the effect of motor experience on the modular organization of the neuromuscular system during starting, based on he clarification of the characteristics of muscle synergies during starting. It was found that exercise experience did not promote an increase in the number of synergies but rather a more focused timing of the activation of each synergy, allowing athletes to quickly complete the postural transition from crouching to running during the starting. In the UAV-based urban delivery setting, the battery capacity serves as one of the key factors affecting the delivery range of drones. For a typical multi-rotor unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), the maximum effective working range of a lithium battery for a single flight leg is approximately 20 km. In practice, the lithium battery is replaced each time the UAV completes a delivery, even though the remaining power of the replaced lithium battery is still capable of supporting the following flight legs. Therefore, the one-order-one-swapping strategy significantly brings down the battery utilisation as well as the efficiency of the delivery system. In the present paper, the UAV-based delivery problem with battery swapping decision is considered, where multiple en route pickup and deliveries are allowed. To obtain optimal decisions in terms of flight route, time and location of each battery swapping, a branch-and-price-and-cut algorithm is introduced. First we formulate this problem as a mixed integer linear programming (MILP) model, and then decompose it into a master problem and a pricing sub-problem, where the master problem is considered as a set covering model, and the sub-problem as an elementary shortest path problem with resource constraints (ESPPRC). To speed up the process of column generation, efficient heuristics are also integrated to provide basic feasible solutions. In the pricing sub-problem, a combination of heuristic algorithm and dynamic programming is implemented to improve the computational efficiency. In the numerical experiments, the proposed algorithm is tested on various scales of UAV-based urban delivery instances, the performance of which is analysed and compared with the off-the-shelf commercial solver. The orientation and rearrangement of water on a gold electrode significantly influences its physicochemical heterogeneous performance. Despite numerous experimental and theoretical studies aimed at uncovering the structural characteristics of interfacial water, the orientational behavior resulting from electrode-induced rearrangements remains a subject of ongoing debate. Here, we employed molecular dynamics simulations to investigate the adaptive structure and dynamics properties of interfacial water on Au(111) and Au(100) surfaces by considering a polarizable model for Au atoms in comparison with the non-polarizable model. Compared to the nonpolarizable systems, the polarization effect can enhance the interaction between water molecules and the gold surface. Unexpectedly, the rotational dynamics directly associated with the orientational behavior of water adjacent to the gold surface is accelerated, thereby reducing the hydrogen bond lifetime. The underlying mechanism for this anomalous phenomenon originates from the polarization effect, which induces the attraction of the positive hydrogen atoms to the surface by the negative image charge. This leads to a change in orientation that disrupts the hydrogen bonds in the first water layer and subsequently accelerates reorientation dynamics of water molecules adjacent to the gold surface. These results shed light on the intricate interplay between polarization effects and water molecule dynamics on metal surfaces, establishing the foundation for the rational regulation of the orientation of interfacial water. This paper addresses a serial distributed permutation flowshop scheduling problem (SDPFSP) inspired by a printed circuit board assembly process that contains two production stages linked by a transportation stage, where the scheduling problem in each production stage can be seen as a distributed permutation flowshop scheduling problem (DPFSP). A sequence-based mixed-integer linear programming model is established. A solution representation consisting of two components, one component per stage, is presented and a makespan calculation method is given for the representation. Two suites of accelerations based on the insertion neighbourhood are proposed to reduce the computational complexity. A cooperative iterated greedy (CIG) algorithm is developed with two subloops, each of which optimises a component of the solution. A collaboration mechanism is used to conduct the collaboration of the two subloops effectively. Problem-specific operators including the NEH-based heuristics, destruction, reconstruction and three local search procedures, are designed. Extensive computational experiments and statistical analysis verify the validity of the model, the effectiveness of the proposed CIG algorithm and the superiority of the proposed CIG over the existing methods for solving the problem under consideration. As a new production pattern, the hybrid seru system (HSS) originated from the actual production scenario. In the HSS, the implementation of the worker transfer strategy can further enhance the system's flexibility but is rarely studied at present. In this paper, we develop a reinforcement learning driven two-stage evolutionary algorithm (RL-TEA) to address the hybrid seru system scheduling problem with worker transfer (HSSSP-WT). To conquer this complex problem, the HSSSP-WT is divided into worker assignment-related subproblems (WS) and batch scheduling-related subproblems (BS) according to the problem characteristics. To effectively solve the subproblems, a probability modelbased exploration and a lower bound-guided heuristic are presented for the WS, and a greedy search is designed for the BS. Meanwhile, to improve search efficiency and effectiveness, a knowledgebased selection mechanism is proposed to determine which subproblem group to optimise in each generation by fusing a reinforcement learning technique and a lower bound filtering strategy. Moreover, an elite enhancement strategy inspired by the problem property is designed to improve the solution quality. Experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness of the worker transfer strategy and the superior performance of the RL-TEA compared with the state-of-the-art algorithms in solving the HSSSP-WT. Lennard-Jones potential parameters have been determined for the interlayered interaction in 12 elemental layered crystals. The layered crystals include corrugated borophene, buckled honeycomb structures with elements from the group IV (Si, Ge, and Sn) and group V (P, As, Sb, and Bi), as well as four puckered structures in the aw-phase (Sb and Bi) and sw-phase (P and As). We first calculated the minimal interfacial energy and the interlayer equilibrium distance for two typical shifted stackings, AA and AB, for every bilayer crystal using the density functional theory with a long-range dispersion correction. Then, we use the Lennard-Jones potential and the corresponding derivative to graphically match the calculated adhesion energy and the zero resultant force along the out-of-plane direction, determining the energy parameter and the size parameter for both stackings. The Lennard-Jones model with the obtained parameters can be in good agreement with the first-principles calculations for the AA and AB stackings in describing the relationship between the interfacial energy and the interlayer distance, and the Lennard-Jones parameters for the other stackings are directly determined according to Lorentz–Berthelot combining rules. The parameters can be applied in molecular dynamics simulations for the interfacial effect of elemental layered materials such as mechanical peeling and interlayer friction, as well as stacking formation, and the analytical method can be extended to determine the parameters of the Lennard-Jones potential for the compound layered crystals and the interlayer heterojunction structures. The hemispherical shell resonator (HSR) is the core element of the hemispherical resonator gyroscope (HRG), and its frequency mismatch is a key property influencing gyroscope accuracy. Investigating the mechanism of frequency mismatch is vital for improving the quality of HSRs and performance of HRGs. Midsurface radius imperfections and thickness imperfections are two principal causes of frequency mismatch, but their combined effects have rarely been discussed. This paper develops a model to comprehensively analyze the frequency mismatch of HSRs with both radius and thickness imperfections. The model derives a quantitative relation between the frequency mismatch and the two imperfections, and provides principles for evaluating dominant imperfections. To validate the model, we conduct experiments on a batch of 12 HSRs with random geometric imperfections. We apply the model in calculating the theoretical frequency mismatches of these HSRs, and the results agree well with the experimental data. The experiment also confirms that for macro-HSRs, thickness imperfections have a larger impact than radius imperfections, and the frequency mismatch is approximately linear to the fourth thickness harmonic. We propose and investigate a novel coherent laser array design based on laterally coupled photonic crystal surface-emitting lasers (PCSELs). As a new type of semiconductor laser technology, PCSELs have field confinement in a planar cavity and laser beam emission in the surface normal direction. By engineering lateral couplings between PCSELs with heterostructure photonic crystal designs, we can achieve coherent operations from an array of PCSELs. In this paper, we demonstrate coherent operation from a passively coupled PCSEL array design. We fabricated PCSEL array devices on a GaAs-based quantum well heterostructure at a target wavelength of 1040 nm. Experimental results show that the 2-by-2 PCSEL arrays have spectral linewidth of 0.14–0.22 nm. Beam combining performance was characterized by self-interference experiments. Similar coherency between the PCSEL array and single PCSEL device was observed. Our compact PCSEL array designs by passive lateral coupling have potential applications in fields of on-chip photonic computing, quantum, and information processing. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

We perform detailed potential energy surface explorations of BeM(CO)3− (M = Co, Rh, Ir) and BeM(CO)3 (M = Ni, Pd, Pt) using both single-reference and multireference-based methods. The present results at the CASPT2(12,12)/def2-QZVPD//M06-D3/def2-TZVPPD level reveal that the global minimum of BeM(CO)3− (M = Co, Rh, Ir) and BePt(CO)3 is a C3v symmetric structure with an 1A1 electronic state, where Be is located in a terminal position bonded to M along the center axis. For other cases, the C3v symmetric structure is a low-lying local minimum. Although the present complexes are isoelectronic with the recently reported BFe(CO)3− complex having a B–Fe quadruple bond, radial orbital-energy slope (ROS) analysis reveals that the highest occupied molecular orbital (HOMO) in the title complexes is slightly antibonding in nature, which bars a quadruple bonding assignment. Similar weak antibonding nature of HOMO in the previously reported BeM(CO)4 (M = Ru, Os) complexes is also noted in ROS analysis. The bonding analysis through energy decomposition analysis in combination with the natural orbital for chemical valence shows that the bonding between Be and M(CO)3q (q = −1 for M = Co, Rh, Ir and q = 0 for M = Ni, Pd, Pt) can be best described as Be in the ground state (1S) interacting with M(CO)30/− via dative bonds. The Be(spσ) → M(CO)3q σ-donation and the complementary Be(spσ) ← M(CO)3q σ-back donation make the overall σ bond, which is accompanied by two weak Be(pπ) ← M(CO)3q π-bonds. Photocatalytic water-splitting represents a promising avenue for clean hydrogen production, necessitating an in-depth understanding of the photocatalytic reaction mechanism. The majority of the photocatalytic materials need cocatalysts to enhance the photo-oxidation or reduction reactions. However, the working mechanism, such as collecting charge carriers or reducing the reaction barrier, is not clear because they disperse inhomogeneously on a surface, and it is difficult to follow the local charge carrier behavior. This study employs the pattern-illumination time-resolved phase microscopy (PI-PM) method to unravel the spatial charge carrier behavior in photocatalytic systems, utilizing time-resolved microscopic image (refractive index change) sequences and their clustering analyses. This approach is robust for studying the change in local charge carrier behavior. We studied two major cocatalyst effects on photocatalysts: TiO2 with/without Pt and hematite with/without CoPi. The PI-PM method, supported by charge type clustering and the effects of scavengers, allowed for the analysis of local activity influenced by cocatalysts. This approach revealed that the introduction of cocatalysts alters the local distribution of charge carrier behavior and significantly impacts their decay rates. In TiO2 systems, the presence of Pt cocatalysts led to a local electron site on the micron scale, extending the lifetime to a few tens of microseconds from a few microseconds. Similarly, in hematite films with CoPi, we observed a notable accumulation of holes at cocatalyst sites, emphasizing the role of cocatalysts in enhancing photocatalytic efficiency. Chiral quantum dots (QDs) are promising materials applied in many areas, such as chiral molecular recognition and spin selective filter for charge transport, and can be prepared by facile ligand exchange approaches. However, ligand exchange leads to an increase in surface defects and reduces the efficiencies of radiative recombination and charge transport, which restricts further applications. Here, we investigate the light-induced photoluminescence (PL) enhancement in chiral L- and D-cysteine CdSe QD thin films, providing a strategy to increase the PL. The PL intensity of chiral CdSe QD films can be significantly enhanced over 100 times by continuous UV laser irradiation, indicating a strong passivation of surface defects upon laser irradiation. From the comparative measurements of the PL intensity evolutions in vacuum, dry oxygen, air, and humid nitrogen atmospheres, we conclude that the mechanism of PL enhancement is photo-induced surface passivation with the assistance of water molecules. Single-turn coil (STC) is a destructive pulse magnet aiming at a 100–300 T ultra-high magnetic field. A transient discharge circuit model considering the coupling of electromagnetic diffusion and conductor deformation is proposed, and the transient coil impedance characteristics are investigated. The results show that the coil resistance first decreases and then increases due to electromagnetic diffusion and temperature rise, respectively, while the coil inductance always increases because of the conductor's outward motion. Metal–Organic Polymers (MOPs) have attracted growing attention for lithium-ion battery (LIB) applications due to their merits in orderly ionic transportation and robust structure stability in electrochemical reactions. However, they suffer from poor electronic conductivity. In this work, we apply first-principles density functional theory to explore the potential of three one-dimensional (1D) electrically conductive C6H2S4TM (TM = Fe, Co, and Ni) MOPs with the π–d conjugated coordination as anode materials for Li+ ions storage. Our theoretical results reveal that these 1D MOPs possess a superior theoretical capacity of over 748 mA h g−1. In particular, the 1D C6H2S4Ni MOP shows an exceptional theoretical specific capacity of 1110 mA h g−1 based on the three-electron transferring reaction, which significantly outperforms the traditional graphite-based anode material in LIBs. Moreover, the resonant charge transfer between Ni metal and ligand within the 1D C6H2S4Ni MOP reduces the diffusion energy barrier of the Li atoms when they migrate on the surface of the MOP. Proflavine (PF), an acridine DNA intercalating agent, has been widespread applied as an anti-microbial and topical antiseptic agent due to its ability to suppress DNA replication. On the other hand, various studies show that PF intercalation to DNA can increase photogenotoxicity and has potential chances to induce carcinomas of skin appendages. However, the effects of PF intercalation on the photophysical and photochemical properties of DNA have not been sufficiently explored. In this study, the excited state dynamics of the PF intercalated d(GC)9 • d(GC)9 and d(AT)9 • d(AT)9 DNA duplex are investigated in an aqueous buffer solution. Under 267 nm excitation, we observed ultrafast charge transfer (CT) between PF and d(GC)9 • d(GC)9 duplex, generating a CT state with an order of magnitude longer lifetime compared to that of the intrinsic excited state reported for the d(GC)9 • d(GC)9 duplex. In contrast, no excited state interaction was detected between PF and d(AT)9 • d(AT)9. Nevertheless, a localized triplet state with a lifetime over 5 µs was identified in the PF–d(AT)9 • d(AT)9 duplex. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Deep ultraviolet (DUV) nonlinear optical (NLO) crystals have important applications in lithography, microfabrication, and high-resolution photoelectric spectrometer. In recent years, significant progress has been made in both the theoretical design and experimental research of DUV NLO crystals. This review aims to offer a comprehensive perspective on exploring a new generation of DUV NLO materials. First, we summarize various computer-aided strategies for crystal structure design and emphasize their significant role in advancing the discovery of DUV NLO materials. Then, we outline several representative DUV crystals of experimental synthesis. Finally, we discuss the future prospects for exploring new generations of DUV NLO materials. We believe that employing data-driven, computer-aided methods to explore DUV NLO materials will help address the current challenges in the field of DUV NLO materials research. In this paper, a new Stroh formalism for gradient electro-mechanics is derived for the first time, which is both mathematically concise and numerically powerful, applicable to generally coupled anisotropic material systems. Based on this new formalism, the complicated Lamb wave in flexoelectric and piezoelectric plates is investigated. The dispersion equation is obtained by solving the eigenvalue problem along with the unconditionally stable dual-variable and position method. From the obtained dispersion equation, the dispersion curves and mode shapes of the Lamb wave are calculated by the 1D form of the multidimensional moduli ratio convergence method. Two important and interesting features are observed from our analysis: One is the difference in the mode shape symmetry between the piezoelectric and flexoelectric cases, and the other is the size-dependent property of the flexoelectric effect as observed by nondimensionalization. These features are further illustrated by comparing the dispersion curves and wave-mode shapes among the three different material models (purely piezoelectric, purely flexoelectric, and flexoelectric and piezoelectric coupled). The newly derived Stroh formalism offers a robust, concise, and unified approach for dealing with strain gradient electro-mechanic materials with crystal systems of general anisotropy. The dispersion properties of the absorption coefficients [α(ν)] of different multi-component silicate oxide glasses have been studied in the frequency region below the boson peak by using THz-time-domain spectroscopy. The value of α(ν)/ν2 has been shown to exhibit a minimum level (R) at low frequency and subsequently a linear increase in the form of r(ν/νBP + E) with increasing frequency, where νBP is the boson peak frequency and R, r, and E are material-specific constants. It has also been found that R ∝ r and E is a constant common to most glasses. This α(ν)/ν2 behavior is ascribed to the dispersion property of the light-vibration coupling coefficient under the reasonable vibrational density of state function. The minimum (constant) and linear terms of the α(ν)/ν2 spectrum are originated from the physical/chemical disorder-induced charge fluctuations in the long-range scale (constant term) and short-range scale (linear term), respectively. The fluctuating charge (σ1) caused by uncorrelated, long-range disorders has primary significance for determining the sub-THz absorption dispersion properties, and its value has been determined for each glass material. Transparent and flexible metamaterial absorbers can provide solutions for electromagnetic compatibility and electromagnetic radiation pollution. They also play key roles in platforms with optical windows that require low detectability and immunity to electromagnetic interference. Due to the lack of active adaptability to complex electromagnetic environments, early metamaterial absorbers need to be redesigned and manufactured once the application scenarios change. The new two-dimensional material graphene provides a practical technical approach for the realization of transparent tunable absorbers. In this work, we propose a polarization-insensitive dual-tunable microwave absorber based on graphene metasurface. By controlling two separate bias voltages applied to patterned graphene or continuous graphene, independent dynamic regulation of electromagnetic wave absorption frequency and amplitude is achieved. It also possesses the features of optical transparency and flexibility. The measurement results show that the absorption frequency can be shifted from 9.8 to 11.3 GHz, the peak absorption rate at each absorption frequency remains above 99.6%, and the reflection amplitude modulation can be achieved simultaneously at each absorption frequency. The proposed absorber integrates multiple modulation functions for electromagnetic waves, and the overall structure is optically transparent and flexible. To investigate the impact of fractional parameters on the thermodynamic behaviors of quantum systems, we incorporate fractional quantum mechanics into the cycle of a quantum Stirling heat engine and examine the influence of fractional parameters on regeneration and efficiency. We propose a novel approach to control the thermodynamic cycle that leverages the fractional parameter structure and evaluates its effectiveness. This paper proposes a novel intelligent scheduling method based on deep reinforcement learning (DRL) to solve the multi-objective steelmaking-continuous casting (SCC) scheduling problem, under time-of-use (TOU) tariffs for the first time. The intelligent scheduling system architecture is designed, and a mathematical model is established to minimise the total sojourn time and electricity cost. To effectively reduce production costs by avoiding peak periods of electricity consumption, the 'start time' of the system is generated based on the Markov Decision Process (MDP), and heuristic scheduling rules related to power cost are used as the action space, with corresponding reward functions designed according to the characteristics of these two objectives. To satisfy the continuous casting which is a particular SCC constraint, a backward strategy is developed. Additionally, a branching duelling double deep Q-network (BD3QN) is adapted to guide action selection and avoid blind search in the iteration process, and then applied to real-time scheduling. Traditional waste incineration generates a large amount of exhaust gas, resulting in adverse environmental impacts. Therefore, we developed an organic and intelligent photochemical processing system that utilizes high-energy lasers for incineration, thereby reducing the production of exhaust gas. A large-scale laser machine was set up, incorporating low-cost 2D Light Detection and Ranging (LiDAR) technology for system sensing, which performs angle range and threshold filtering, as well as multispectral laser allocation, integrated with the laser ablation machine system. After testing, the error was <5 mm (<8%), achieving precise object scanning and ranging and solving the problem of manual laser positioning. Experimental results showed that CO2 lasers can effectively process organic materials and medical waste of different sizes. This innovative research will have profound implications for the future development of environmental protection and incineration technologies. CsPbBr3 crystals exhibit high photoelectric absorption, large carrier mobility, long carrier lifetimes, and notable stability at room temperature. With an intermediate bandgap of 2.3 eV, they allow the fabrication of stable photonic devices and show good application prospects in the field of nuclear radiation detection. Through the adjustment of the polycrystalline raw material synthesis, crucible shape design, and multiple growths, a high-quality CsPbBr3 crystal of Φ 50 mm x 80 mm with uniform and crack-free appearance was successfully grown by the vertical Bridgman method. The FWHM of the different crystalline planes was characterized by XRD rocking curves, which showed that the (010) plane has a narrower half peak width and higher crystallinity. Detectors with an Au/CsPbBr3/Au structure were fabricated by magnetron sputtering with Au electrodes of 2 mm in diameter, and the resistivity of the (100) crystal plane and (010) crystal plane was 2.5 x 109 Ω cm and 7.8 x 109 Ω cm, respectively. Under a 5 V bias, UV lamp bands and X-ray irradiation tests revealed that devices with the (010) plane had higher switching ratios and sensitivity, resulting in higher signal-to-noise ratios at lower X-ray doses. Rabies is a neglected disease primarily related to dog-mediated transmission to humans. Accurate dog demographic and dynamic data are essential for effectively planning and evaluating population management strategies when designing interventions to prevent rabies. However, in Thailand, longitudinal survey data regarding dog population size are scarce. A school-based participatory research (SBPR) approach was conducted to survey owned dogs for one year in four high-risk provinces (Chiang Rai, Surin, Chonburi, and Songkhla) of Thailand, aiming to understand dog population dynamics and raise awareness about rabies. 'Pupify' mobile application was developed to collect data on dog population and observe the long-term population dynamics in this study. At the end of the data collection period, telephone interviews were conducted to gain insight into contextual perceptions and awareness regarding both animal and human rabies, as well as the social responsibility of dog owners in disease prevention and control. Among 303 high school students who registered in our study, 218 students reported at least one update of their dog information throughout the one-year period. Of 322 owned dogs from our survey, the updates of dog status over one year showed approximately 7.5 newborns per 100-dog-year, while deaths and missing dogs were 6.2 and 2.7 per 100-dog-year, respectively. The male to female ratio was approximately 1.8:1. Twenty-three students (10%) voluntarily participated and were interviewed in the qualitative study. The levels of rabies awareness and precautions among high-school students were relatively low. The high dropout rate of the survey was due to discontinuity in communication between the researcher and the students over the year. In conclusion, this study focused on using the SBPR approach via mobile application to collect data informing dog population dynamics and raising awareness regarding rabies in Thailand Other engaging platforms (e.g. Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and other popular applications) is necessary to enhance communication and engagement, thereby sustaining and maintaining data collection. Main conclusion: This study revealed the transcriptome-wide m6A methylation profile under drought stress and found thatTaETC9 might regulate drought tolerance through mediating RNA methylation in wheat. Drought is one of the most destructive environmental constraints limiting crop growth and development. N6-methyladenosine (m6A) is a prevalent and important post-transcriptional modification in various eukaryotic RNA molecules, playing the crucial role in regulating drought response in plants. However, the significance of m6A in wheat (Triticum aestivum L.), particularly its involvment in drought response, remains underexplored. In this study, we investigated the transcriptome-wide m6A profile under drought stress using parallel m6A immunoprecipitation sequencing (MeRIP-seq). Totally, 4221 m6A peaks in 3733 m6A-modified genes were obtained, of which 373 methylated peaks exhibited differential expression between the control (CK) and drought-stressed treatments. These m6A loci were significantly enriched in proximity to stop codons and within the 3′-untranslated region. Integration of MeRIP-seq and RNA-seq revealed a positive correlation between m6A methylation and mRNA abundance and the genes displaying both differential methylation and expression were obtained. Finally, qRT-PCR analyses were further performed and the results found that the m6A-binding protein (TaETC9) showed significant up-regulation, while the m6A demethylase (TaALKBH10B) was significantly down-regulated under drought stress, contributing to increased m6A levels. Furthermore, the loss-of-function mutant of TaECT9 displayed significantly higher drought sensitivity compared to the wild type, highlighting its role in regulating drought tolerance. Objectives: To investigate the effects of low tube voltage on coronary plaques and pericoronary fat assessment, and to compare their extent among various levels of low voltage. Materials and methods: Patients were recommended for high-pitch low-tube voltage coronary computed tomography angiography (CCTA), and they were included if they had poor image quality and were referred to a conventional CCTA. The patients were classified into a low-voltage group (with 70-kV, 80-kV, and 90-kV subgroups) and a conventional group (100/120 kV). Their total plaque and subcomponent volumes and pericoronary fat attenuation index (FAI) were measured. Results: A total of 1002 image slices (from 65 patients and 74 plaques) were included, including 21, 31, 13, 4, and 61 patients in the 70-kV, 80-kV, 90-kV, 100-kV, and 120-kV groups respectively. The CT values of noncalcified plaques in the conventional and low-voltage groups were 54.6 ± 21.3 HU and 31.5 ± 22.6 HU, respectively (p < 0.05). Compared with the conventional group, the necrotic core and calcification volume were increased, and the fibrolipid volume, periplaque, and right coronary artery FAI were decreased in the low-voltage group and its subgroups (p < 0.001). The magnitude of changes in fibrous and calcification volumes increased in the 70-kV subgroup compared with that in the 90-kV subgroup (p < 0.05). Conclusion: Low tube voltages, particularly of 70 kV, have a significant effect on coronary plaque and FAI. The effect of low voltage on plaque composition is characterized by a polarization pattern, i.e., a decrease in fibrolipid (medium density) and an increase in necrotic core (low density) and calcification (high density). Clinical relevance statement: Our results highlight the comparability and repeatability of plaque and pericoronary fat assessments facilitated by the same or a similar tube voltage. Background: Tissue-resident memory CD103+CD8+ T cells (CD103+CD8+ TRMs) are important components of anti-tumor immunity. However, the significance of CD103+CD8+ TRMs in colorectal cancer (CRC) and their advantages remain unclear. Methods: Clinical data and specimens were used to evaluate the significance of CD103+CD8+ TRMs in CRC. A mouse subcutaneous tumorigenesis model and colony-formation assay were conducted to evaluate the anti-tumor effects of CD103+CD8+ TRMs. Finally, the infiltration density and function of CD103+CD8+ TRMs in the tumors were evaluated using flow cytometry. Results: In this study, we showed that highly infiltrated CD103+CD8+ TRMs were associated with earlier clinical stage and negative VEGF expression in CRC patients and predicted a favorable prognosis for CRC/CRC liver metastases patients. Interestingly, we also found that CD103+CD8+ TRMs may have predictive potential for whether CRC develops liver metastasis in CRC. In addition, we found a positive correlation between the ratio of the number of α-SMA+ vessels to the sum of the number of α-SMA+ and CD31+ vessels in CRC, and the infiltration level of CD103+CD8+ TRMs. In addition, anti-angiogenic therapy promoted infiltration of CD103+CD8+ TRMs and enhanced their ability to secrete interferon (IFN)-γ, thus further improving the anti-tumor effect. Moreover, in vivo experiments showed that compared with peripheral blood CD8+ T cells, CD103+CD8+ TRMs infused back into the body could also further promote CD8+ T cells to infiltrate the tumor, and they had a stronger ability to secrete IFN-γ, which resulted in better anti-tumor effects. Conclusion: We demonstrated that CD103+CD8+ TRMs have the potential for clinical applications and provide new ideas for combined anti-tumor therapeutic strategies, such as anti-tumor angiogenesis therapy and CAR-T combined immunotherapy. Hearing loss is the most prevalent neurosensory disorder in humans, with significant implications for language, social and cognitive development if not diagnosed and treated early. The present systematic review and meta-analysis aimed to determine the rate of hearing screening pass and genetic screening failure [universal newborn hearing screening (UNHS) pass/genetic failure] and to investigate the advantages of combining newborn hearing and genetic screening for newborn hearing impairment. The PubMed, Embase and Cochrane databases were searched from inception to September 2023 to identify studies reporting the combination of neonatal hearing screening with genetic screening. Duplicate literature, unpublished literature, studies with incomplete data, animal experiments, literature reviews and systematic studies were excluded. All the data were processed by STATA15.1 statistical software. A total of nine cross-sectional studies were included in this meta-analysis. The sample sizes ranged from 1,716 to 180,469, and there were a total of 377,688 participants. The pooled results revealed that the prevalence of passing the UNHS while failing genetic screening was 0.31% (95% CI, 0.22-0.41%). The prevalence of UNHS pass and gap junction protein beta 2 and solute carrier family 26 member 4 variant screen failure was 0.01% (95% CI, 0.00-0.02%) and 0.00% (95% CI, 0.00%), respectively, while the prevalence of mitochondrially encoded 12S RRNA variant screening failure and UNHS pass was 0.21% (95% CI, 0.18-0.26%). Combined screening has a significant advantage over pure hearing screening, especially in terms of identifying newborns with mitochondrial gene mutations that render them sensitive to certain medications. In clinical practice, decision-makers can consider practical circumstances and leverage the benefits of combined newborn hearing and genetic screening for early diagnosis, early counseling, and early intervention in patients with hearing loss. Background: In individuals receiving treatment with epidermal growth factor receptor-tyrosine kinase inhibitors (EGFR-TKIs), those exhibiting positive PD-L1 expression might experience reduced progression-free survival (PFS). However, the effects on overall survival (OS) and the determination of efficacious treatment approaches are still not well-defined. Methods: In our retrospective study, we examined data from 193 NSCLC patients with advanced EGFR mutations who received first-line TKI treatments, treated at two centers of Shaw Hospital in Zhejiang, China. This analysis covered a period from 1 January 2016 to 30 April 2023. Results: Patients with PD-L1 positivity exhibited a markedly shorter average PFS (9.5 months versus 17.8 months, P < 0.001) andOS (44.4months versus 65.7months, P = 0.016) relative to thosewithout PD-L1 expression. This difference in both PFS and OS remained statistically significant even after adjusting for multiple factors (P < 0.001 for PFS and P = 0.028 for OS). In the PD-L1-positive cohort, introducing combination antiangiogenic significantly extended both PFS (from 9.1 to 25.7 months, P = 0.026) and OS (from 42 to 53.5 months, P = 0.03). Post-firstline TKI therapy, 39.3% of PD-L1-positive patients and 54.5% of PD-L1-negative patients developed the T790Mmutation (P =0.212),with no notable difference in PFS from second-line TKI treatments between the groups. Additionally, subsequent combination therapy with immunotherapy markedly prolonged OS in the PD-L1- positive group. However, for PD-L1-negative patients, neither combination antiangiogenic therapy nor later-line immunotherapy demonstrated significant benefits in PFS or OS. Conclusion: For PD-L1-positive patients, combined antiangiogenic treatments and immunotherapy can significantly improve survival outcomes. Anthropogenic activities have substantially enhanced the loadings of reactive nitrogen (Nr) in the Earth system since pre-industrial times1,2, contributing to widespread eutrophication and air pollution3–6. Increased Nr can also influence global climate through a variety of effects on atmospheric and land processes but the cumulative net climate effect is yet to be unravelled. Here we show that anthropogenic Nr causes a net negative direct radiative forcing of −0.34 [−0.20, −0.50] W m−2 in the year 2019 relative to the year 1850. This net cooling effect is the result of increased aerosol loading, reduced methane lifetime and increased terrestrial carbon sequestration associated with increases in anthropogenic Nr, which are not offset by the warming effects of enhanced atmospheric nitrous oxide and ozone. Future predictions using three representative scenarios show that this cooling effect may be weakened primarily as a result of reduced aerosol loading and increased lifetime of methane, whereas in particular N2O-induced warming will probably continue to increase under all scenarios. Our results indicate that future reductions in anthropogenic Nr to achieve environmental protection goals need to be accompanied by enhanced efforts to reduce anthropogenic greenhouse gas emissions to achieve climate change mitigation in line with the Paris Agreement.A comprehensive model framework is used to estimate the global net direct radiative forcing of anthropogenic reactive nitrogen as being about −0.34 W m−2, which has a cooling effect on the climate. A series of low-dose high-valence Ti4+ doped MIL-53-NH2(Fe) photocatalysts were synthesized for visible-light-driven CO2 reduction. Background: Acute necrotizing encephalopathy (ANE) and myocarditis are both acute, life-threatening conditions that can be triggered by COVID-19. We report a case of sequential ANE and myocarditis following a COVID-19 infection. Case presentation: A 27-year-old female patient was brought to the emergency department due to episodes of fever for two days and a 9-h altered state of consciousness. Her condition rapidly developed into stuporous and hemodynamic instability within serval hours. Veno-arterial extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) was rapidly initiated with other supportive treatments. The following-up MRI showed bilateral, symmetrically distributed lesions in the brainstem, bilateral hippocampal regions, and bilateral basal ganglia, consistent with ANE. The diagnosis was confirmed through the detection of SARS-CoV-2 and the exclusion of other potential causes. After weeks of medical treatment, her condition stabilized, and she was transferred for further rehabilitation treatment. Conclusions: This case study indicates that COVID-19 may simultaneously and rapidly affect the central nervous system and cardiovascular system, leading to poor outcomes. Accurate diagnosis and timely invasive bridging therapy, when necessary, can be lifesaving. CO2 flooding is a vital development method for enhanced oil recovery in low-permeability reservoirs. However, micro-fractures are developed in low-permeability reservoirs, which are essential oil flow channels but can also cause severe CO2 gas channeling problems. Therefore, anti-gas channeling is a necessary measure to improve the effect of CO2 flooding. The kind of anti-gas channeling refers to the plugging of fractures in the deep formation to prevent CO2 gas channeling, which is different from the wellbore leakage. Polymer microspheres have the characteristics of controllable deep plugging, which can achieve the profile control of low-permeability fractured reservoirs. In acidic environments with supercritical CO2, traditional polymer microspheres have poor expandability and plugging properties. Based on previous work, a systematic evaluation of the expansion performance, dispersion rheological properties, stability, deep migration, anti-CO2 channeling and enhanced oil recovery ability of a novel acid-resistant polymer microsphere (DCNPM-A) was carried out under CQ oilfield conditions (salinity of 85,000 mg/L, 80 °C, pH = 3). The results show that the DCNPM-A microsphere had a better expansion performance than the traditional microsphere, with a swelling rate of 13.5. The microsphere dispersion with a concentration of 0.1%-0.5% had the advantages of low viscosity, high dispersion and good injectability in the low permeability fractured core. In the acidic environment of supercritical CO2, DCNPM-A microspheres showed excellent stability and could maintain strength for over 60 d with less loss. In core experiments, DCNPM-A microspheres exhibited delayed swelling characteristics and could effectively plug deep formations. With a plugging rate of 95%, the subsequent enhanced oil recovery of CO2 flooding could reach 21.03%. Ruminants are one of the world's economically important species, and their reproductive health is critical to the economic development of the livestock industry. In recent years, research on the relationship between microbiota and reproductive health has received much attention. Microbiota disruption affects the developmental health of the testes and epididymis, the male reproductive organs of the host, which in turn is related to sperm quality. Maintaining a stable microbiota protects the host from pathogens and increases breeding performance, which in turn promotes the economic development of animal husbandry. In addition, the effects and mechanisms of microbiota on reproduction were further explored. These findings support new approaches to improving and managing reproductive health in ruminants through the microbiota and facilitate further systematic exploration of microbiota‐mediated reproductive impacts. Cisplatin (CDDP) is a commonly used chemotherapeutic for osteosarcoma (OS) patients, and drug resistance remains as a major hurdle to undermine the treatment outcome. Here, we investigated the potential involvement of FoxG1 and BNIP3 in CDDP resistance of OS cells. FoxG1 and BNIP3 expression levels were detected in the CDDP‐sensitive and CDDP‐resistant OS tumors and cell lines. Mitophagy was observed through transmission electron microscope analysis. The sensitivity to CDDP in OS cells upon FoxG1 overexpression was examined in cell and animal models. We found that FoxG1 and BNIP3 showed significant downregulation in the CDDP‐resistant OS tumor samples and cell lines. CDDP‐resistant OS tumor specimens and cells displayed impaired mitophagy. FoxG1 overexpression promoted BNIP3 expression, enhanced mitophagy in CDDP‐resistant OS cells, and resensitized the resistant cells to CDDP treatment in vitro and in vivo. Our data highlighted the role of the FoxG1/BNIP3 axis in regulating mitophagy and dictating CDDP resistance in OS cells, suggesting targeting FoxG1/BNIP3‐dependent mitophagy as a potential strategy to overcome CDDP resistance in OS. Eastern equine encephalitis virus (EEEV) is the most virulent alphavirus that infects humans, and many survivors develop neurological sequelae, including paralysis and intellectual disability. Alphavirus spike proteins comprise trimers of heterodimers of glycoproteins E2 and E1 that mediate binding to cellular receptors and fusion of virus and host cell membranes during entry. We recently identified very-low density lipoprotein receptor (VLDLR) and apolipoprotein E receptor 2 (ApoER2) as cellular receptors for EEEV and a distantly related alphavirus, Semliki Forest virus (SFV). Here, we use single-particle cryo-electron microscopy (cryo-EM) to determine structures of the EEEV and SFV spike glycoproteins bound to the VLDLR ligand-binding domain and found that EEEV and SFV interact with the same cellular receptor through divergent binding modes. Our studies suggest that the ability of LDLR-related proteins to interact with viral spike proteins through very small footprints with flexible binding modes results in a low evolutionary barrier to the acquisition of LDLR-related proteins as cellular receptors for diverse sets of viruses. Alphaviruses include several important human pathogens with outbreak potential. In the past, conventional Czerny–Turner spectrometers were usually designed to achieve high resolution while often ignoring astigmatism in the sagittal direction. In contrast, by replacing the focusing mirror with a freeform surface in the structure, we can obtain a Czerny–Turner spectrometer with low keystone distortion by controlling the astigmatism. At the same time, the area sensor can receive all of the spectrum from the optical system. In this paper, we briefly describe the formation of keystone distortion and smile in a plane grating. Additionally, the validity of the method is verified through simulation. Finally, we evaluated the smile and keystone distortion of both the initial and final systems. The keystone and smile were reduced to 1.77 μm and 8.3 μm, respectively, over the wavelength range of 535 nm to 630 nm. Concurrently, the resolution achieved was 0.4 nm. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Biogas slurry is increasingly adopted as a substitute for chemical fertilizer to improve soil fertility and control soil degradation. But little is known about its long-term effects on different soil layers. This study aims to test if biogas slurry substitution alters soil nutrients and aggregates differently in different layers and how the effects are influenced by straw return. A five-year field trial of a winter wheat–summer maize rotation was established to evaluate the effects of biogas slurry substitution [treatments: control without fertilizer (CK); chemical fertilizer (CF); 50% biogas slurry substitution (BSCF); 100% biogas slurry substitution (BS)] on two soil layers (0–20 and 20–40 cm) under equal N, P, and K fertilization in a Fluvisol. The result showed that compared with CK, fertilization was necessary to maintain soil available nitrogen (AN) and available potassium (AK) in the 0–20 cm layer. Also, fertilization had positive effects on soil EC, TN, and AP, especially in the topsoil. In terms of increasing the degree of water-stable macroaggregation, improving aggregate stability and reducing their crushing rates, CF was superior to biogas slurry substitution because of the greater accumulations of soil N, the most important physicochemical factor regulating soil macroaggregation and stability. The effects of biogas slurry substitution changed with soil layers. In surface soil, BD, water-stable macroaggregates, and aggregate stability significantly increased due to the positive regulatory effects of straw, AP, and EC; whereas in subsoil, they decreased. Inorganic fertilization with straw return functions well in soil structural degradation control and N fertility improvement, especially in the topsoil. Whereas in fields without straw return, biogas slurry substitution may be a feasible and economical choice to improve topsoil structure and also an excellent supplement to provide P and K. Crop inflorescences are directly related to yield. The wild tomato species Solanum pimpinellifolium displays rich genetic diversity. However, limited information is available regarding the inflorescence of this wild population. Here, 300 Solanum pimpinellifolium accessions were investigated to uncover the genetics of inflorescence length (IFL) over two seasons. The results revealed significant genetic variation in IFL among S. pimpinellifolium accessions, with a continuous distribution ranging from 3.68 to 38.13 cm. Few accessions exhibited long inflorescences. The IFL was greatly influenced by environmental factors and the 3rd, 4th and 5th IFL performed relatively stable. The broad-sense heritability ranged from 53.40 to 80.51%. One accession LA1256 showed the longest IFL and most stable across two seasons. Six-generation populations were constructed by crossing LA1256 with the cultivar Moneymaker, possessing very short IFL to understand the genetic mechanism. F1 progeny clearly indicated that long inflorescence was a recessive trait. The further genetic analysis indicated that IFL fitted the E-0 genetic model and the heritability estimates ranged from 50.40 to 65.38% in B1, B2 and F2 populations. The IFL was mainly controlled by major genes and modified by the polygene. These findings obtained in this study would pave the way for a detailed understanding of the inflorescence of wild species S. pimpinellifolium and provide the strategy for the manipulation of tomato improvement. Pseudorabies have caused enormous economic losses in China's pig industry and have recurred on many large pig farms since late 2011. The disease is caused by highly pathogenic, antigenic variant pseudorabies virus (vPRV) strains. Our laboratory isolated a pseudorabies virus in 2015 and named it XJ5. The pathogenic ability of this mutant strain was much stronger than that of the original isolate. After we sequenced its whole genome (GenBank accession number: OP512542), we found that its overall structure was not greatly changed compared with that of the previous strain Ea (KX423960.1). The whole genome alignment showed that XJ5 had a strong genetic relationship with the strains isolated in China after 2012 reported in GenBank. Based on the isolation time of XJ5 and the mutation and recombination analysis of programs, we found that the whole genome homology of XJ5 and other strains with Chinese isolates was greater than 95%, while the homology with strains outside Asia was less than 94%, which indicated that there may be some recombination and mutation patterns. We found that virulent PRV isolates emerged successively in China in 2011 and formed two different evolutionary clades from foreign isolates. At the same time, this may be due to improper immunization and the presence of wild strains in the field, and recent reports have confirmed that Bartha vaccine strains recombine with wild strains to obtain new pathogenic strains. We performed genetic evolution analysis of XJ5 isolated and sequenced in our laboratory to trace its possible mutations and recombination. Objective: This study explored the effects of social support, illness perception, coping style, and vision-related quality of life (VRQOL) in older patients with dry eye disease (DED) using a chain mediation model. Methods: A total of 407 patients with DED from a tertiary hospital in Wuxi, Jiangsu Province, China, between June and December 2023 were selected as participants. A demographic questionnaire, the Social Support Rating Scale, the Brief Illness Perception Questionnaire, the Medical Coping Modes Questionnaire, and the National Eye Institute Visual Functioning questionnaire-25 were all given to them to complete. IBM SPSS (version 27.0) was used for data analysis, and Model 6 of the PROCESS Macro was used to test the predicted chain mediation model. Results: The positive association between social support and VRQOL demonstrated the mediation role of illness perception and coping style. Social support affected VRQOL via three pathways: illness perception (effect = 0.190), confrontational coping style (effect = 0.103), and a combination of illness perception and confrontational coping style (effect = 0.067), accounted for 23.60%, 12.80%, and 8.32% of the total effect, respectively. Conclusion: Social support in older patients with DED can significantly and positively predict the VRQOL. In addition to the independent mediating effect of illness perception and confrontational coping style, a chain-mediating effect exists between social support and VRQOL. Background: The application of deep learning methods in rapid bone scintigraphy is increasingly promising for minimizing the duration of SPECT examinations. Recent works showed several deep learning models based on simulated data for the synthesis of high‐count bone scintigraphy images from low‐count counterparts. Few studies have been conducted and validated on real clinical pairs due to the misalignment inherent in multiple scan procedures. Purpose: To generate high quality whole‐body bone images from 2× and 3× fast scans using deep learning based enhancement method. Materials and Methods: Seventy‐six cases who underwent whole‐body bone scans were enrolled in this prospective study. All patients went through a standard scan at a speed of 20 cm/min, which followed by fast scans consisting of 2× and 3× accelerations at speeds of 40 and 60 cm/min. A content‐attention image restoration approach based on Residual‐in‐Residual Dense Block (RRDB) is introduced to effectively recover high‐quality images from fast scans with fine‐details and less noise. Our approach is robust with misalignment introduced from patient's metabolism, and shows valid count‐level consistency. Learned Perceptual Image Patch Similarity (LPIPS) and Fréchet Inception Distance (FID) are employed in evaluating the similarity to the standard bone images. To further prove our method practical in clinical settings, image quality of the anonymous images was evaluated by two experienced nuclear physicians on a 5‐point Likert scale (5 = excellent). Results: The proposed method reaches the state‐of‐the‐art performance on FID and LPIPS with 0.583 and 0.176 for 2× fast scans and 0.583 and 0.185 for 3× fast scans. Clinic evaluation further demonstrated the restored images had a significant improvement compared to fast scan in image quality, technetium 99m‐methyl diphosphonate (Tc‐99 m MDP) distribution, artifacts, and diagnostic confidence. Conclusions: Our method was validated for accelerating whole‐body bone scans by introducing real clinical data. Confirmed by nuclear medicine physicians, the proposed method can effectively enhance image diagnostic value, demonstrating potential for efficient high‐quality fast bone imaging in practical settings.
