An early warning system is a preventive measure that minimizes the risk of many victims falling during a natural disaster. This system provides information on flood hazards based on observations of flood water level heights which are then forwarded via web media or social media (text messages), so that the public can anticipate early. The research aims to analyze the characteristics of flooding in the Tallo River Basin and determine the early warning system point. This research was carried out by collecting primary data including visual observations, namely looking at the physical condition of the Tallo River as well as flood control buildings around the river and measuring discharge using a current meter as data validation. This research method begins with secondary data collection and primary data collection. Next, a field survey was carried out to obtain the location of the flood incident and the destructive effect of water. Next, data analysis was carried out to determine real-time inundation height prediction modeling based on existing rainfall data, thereby producing good predictions for areas frequently hit by floods in the Tallo River basin.
