A possible magneto-optical structure of the Nuclotron creating the conditions for conducting an experiment to measure the electric dipole moment of the deuteron is considered. This paper describes experiments with the main parameters of the RF accelerating systems of the Booster and the Nuclotron of the Nuclotron based Ion Collider fAcility (NICA) complex, which affect the capture and acceleration, as well as the additional hardware solutions used in this case. The operating modes of accelerating stations of the Booster and the Nuclotron are considered. In particular, the paper describes the principle of formation of the law of the change in the amplitude of the accelerating voltage during the adiabatic capture of particles both in the Booster and in the Nuclotron, as well as the features of setting the sequence of synchronization pulses. The study of the high-density equation of state (EOS) and the search for a possible phase transition in dense baryonic matter is the main goal of beam energy scan programs with relativistic heavy ions at energies s N N = 2–5 GeV. The most stringent constraints currently available on the high-density EOS of symmetric nuclear matter come from the present measurements of directed ( v 1 ) and elliptic flow ( v 2 ) signals of protons in Au + Au collisions. In this energy range, the anisotropic flow is strongly affected by the presence of cold spectators due to the sizable passage time. The system size dependence of anisotropic flow may help to study the participant–spectator contribution and improve our knowledge of the EOS of symmetric nuclear matter. In this work, we discuss the layout of the upgraded BM@N experiment and the anticipated performance for differential anisotropic flow measurements of identified hadrons at Nuclotron energies: s N N = 2.3–3.5 GeV. The anisotropic flow is one of the important observables sensitive to the equation of state (EOS) and transport properties of the strongly interacting matter created in relativistic heavy-ion collisions. In this work, we report a detailed multi-differential study of the directed ( v 1 ), elliptic ( v 2 ), triangular ( v 3 ), and quadrangular ( v 4 ) flow coefficients of protons in relativistic heavy-ion collisions at s N N = 2.2–4.5 GeV using several hadronic transport models. Recent published results for Au + Au collisions at s N N = 2.4 GeV from HADES experiment and at s N N = 3.0 GeV from the STAR experiment have been used for comparison. The study motivates further experimental investigations of the anisotropic collective flow of protons and neutrons in a high baryon density region. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

At the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research (JINR) we are involved in the Accelerator-Driven-System (ADS) research. We perform experiments with assemblies composed of a spallation target and a subcritical blanket irradiated with highenergy proton or deuteron beams that generate high-energy neutron fields by spallation and fission reactions. In this paper, three uranium assemblies are presented: Energy plus Transmutation (E+T), QUINTA and BURAN. We discuss the results of the E+T and QUINTA irradiations by 1.6 GeV deuterons and 660 MeV protons, respectively. We have focused on the regions close to the primary beam passage through the targets. The field has been measured using activation detectors of 209Bi, 59Co, and natPb. Monte Carlo simulations using MCNPX 2.7.0 have been performed and compared to the experimental results. We discovered that the field intensity near the primary beam is very dependent on the precision of the accelerator beam settings. Therefore, a Monte Carlo-based study of the influence of the uncertainty of primary proton beam parameters on experimental result accuracy of the QUINTA assembly has been carried out. The usage of MCNPX 2.7.0 in the future BURAN irradiations has been assessed. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

TANGO Controls is a basis of the NICA control system. The report describes the software which integrates the Nuclotron beam slow extraction subsystem into the TANGO system of NICA. Objects of control are power supplies for resonance lenses. The software consists of the subsystem device server, remote client and web-module for viewing the subsystem data. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
