The Curie point of barium titanate (BaTiO3) has been a focal point of research since the discovery of its ferroelectric properties. Exploring methods to elevate the Curie point without relying on Pb as a dopant presents fresh opportunities for lead-free dielectric and/or piezoelectric materials. It is essential to avoid introducing ions like K + and Na + , which could jeopardize the functional ceramic characteristics. This study delves into the stoichiometry of barium titanate, examining how impurities, point defects and doping techniques influence its Curie point, focus on the potential of doping and processing to enhance this property. BaTiO3 nanopowders were synthesized directly with varying Ba:Ti ratios in an ethanol–water solution at 60∘C, followed by sintering at 1280∘C and characterization through dielectric spectroscopy. A comparison was made with samples doped with Si, vapor-doped with Bi and vapor-doped with Pb. Results revealed that even minimal Si doping could boost the ferroelectric properties and elevate the Curie point, while vapor-doping with trace amounts of PbO or Bi2O3 significantly increased the Curie point, particularly in samples with higher Ti content. The impact of vapor dopants of PbO and Bi2O3 was similar, with a nominal doping level of 1 mol% shifting the Curie point above 140∘C. Notably, in samples with a Ba:Ti ratio of 0.95 vapor-doped with PbO, the Curie point rose to 146∘C, a notable increase of 16∘C, surpassing the traditional doping efficiency. This study offers fresh insights into enhancing the Curie point of barium titanate-based materials, exploring the intricate connections among chemical stoichiometry, dopants, point defects and dielectric properties. Background: Due to the complexity and cost of preparing histopathological slides, deep learning-based methods have been developed to generate high-quality histological images. However, existing approaches primarily focus on spatial domain information, neglecting the periodic information in the frequency domain and the complementary relationship between the two domains. In this paper, we proposed a generative adversarial network that employs a cross-attention mechanism to extract and fuse features across spatial and frequency domains. The method optimizes frequency domain features using spatial domain guidance and refines spatial features with frequency domain information, preserving key details while eliminating redundancy to generate high-quality histological images. Results: Our model incorporates a variable-window mixed attention module to dynamically adjust attention window sizes, capturing both local details and global context. A spectral filtering module enhances the extraction of repetitive textures and periodic structures, while a cross-attention fusion module dynamically weights features from both domains, focusing on the most critical information to produce realistic and detailed images. Conclusions: The proposed method achieves efficient spatial-frequency domain fusion, significantly improving image generation quality. Experiments on the Patch Camelyon dataset show superior performance over eight state-of-the-art models across five metrics. Backgrounds: Functional near-infrared spectroscopy (fNIRS) is widely used for the evaluation of mental workload (MWL), but it is not yet clear whether it is affected by physical factors during cognitive tasks. Therefore, the combined effects of physical and cognitive loads on hemodynamic features in the prefrontal cortex were evaluated. Methods: Thirty-three eligible healthy male subjects were asked to perform three types of cognitive tasks (1-back, 2-back and 3-back). Concurrently, isotonic contraction aerobic exercise of the left upper limb was added. During this compound task, fNIRS signals, workload perception and task performance were recorded. Based on the oxyhemoglobin concentration, Pearson's correlation coefficient (CORR), coherence value (COH) and the phase-locking value (PLV) were calculated to reflect FC among eight channels. Results: On the basis of effects of cognitive tasks, the concurrent physical activities would further increase National Aeronautics and Space Administration Task Load Index score (p < 0.05) and decrease task performance (p < 0.05). The fNIRS-based results showed that cognitive and physical loads had significant interaction effects on CORR (p < 0.05), COH (p < 0.05), and PLV (p = 0.010), while their main effects were not significant. The results of different channel pairs suggested that the functional connectivity between the right dorsolateral prefrontal cortex and the bilateral orbital frontal cortex was significantly enhanced under the combined effects of high physical and high cognitive load. Discussion: From the perspective of prefrontal functional connectivity, this study supports measurable effects of physical factor on operators' mental load. The wake evolution behind a moving impenetrable obstacle potential in a defective Bose–Einstein condensate (BEC) loaded in a shallow optical lattice is investigated. Exploiting the linear stability analysis method and potential flow theory, we analytically calculate the stability condition and velocity of Kármán vortex street, which agrees well with the numerical results. Based on it, the effects of defect on the stability of the Kármán vortex street and vortex pair shedding frequency are studied. The findings suggest that the stability of the vortex street deteriorates with the increase in lattice depth; however, special lattice constants can improve stability. It is worth noting that the shedding frequency of vortex pairs linearly increases with the obstacle velocity. Moreover, the relationship between critical velocity and vortex street structure parameters is established based on different expressions of shedding frequency, which may provide a new method for critical velocity measurement. Additionally, we also find that the Strouhal number (St) effectively characterizes the vortex street generation range when the impenetrable obstacle potential through BEC, which is significantly different from St ≈ 0.21 in classical fluids. Primary ciliary dyskinesia (PCD) is a clinically rare, genetically and phenotypically heterogeneous condition characterized by chronic respiratory tract infections, male infertility, tympanitis, and laterality abnormalities. PCD is typically resulted from variants in genes encoding assembly or structural proteins that are indispensable for the movement of motile cilia. Here, we identified a novel nonsense mutation, c.466G>T, in cilia- and flagella-associated protein 300 (CFAP300) resulting in a stop codon (p.Glu156*) through whole-exome sequencing (WES). The proband had a PCD phenotype with laterality defects and immotile sperm flagella displaying a combined loss of the inner dynein arm (IDA) and outer dynein arm (ODA). Bioinformatic programs predicted that the mutation is deleterious. Successful pregnancy was achieved through intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI). The nickel-catalyzed borylative coupling of aldehydes and 1,3-dienes with diboron reagents offers an efficient method for synthesizing valuable homoallylic alcohols from easily accessible starting materials. However, achieving enantioselectivity in this reaction has been a significant challenge. We discuss our recent report on the first example of a nickel-catalyzed enantioselective borylative coupling of aldehydes with 1,3-dienes, employing a chiral spiro-phosphine–oxazoline ligand. Beam–columns are designed to withstand the concurrent action of both axial and bending stresses. Therefore, when assessing the structural health of an in situ beam–column, both of these load effects must be considered. Probing, having been shown recently to be an effective methodology for predicting the in situ health of prestressed stayed columns under axial compression, is applied currently for predicting the in situ health of beam–columns. Although probing stiffness was sufficient for predicting the health of prestressed stayed columns, additional data are required to predict both the moment and axial utilisation ratios. It is shown that the initial lateral deflection is a suitable measure considered alongside the probing stiffness measured at various probing locations within a revised machine learning (ML) framework. The inclusion of both terms in the ML framework produced an almost exact prediction of both the aforementioned utilisation ratios for various design combinations, thereby demonstrating that the probing framework proposed herein is an appropriate methodology for evaluating the structural strength reserves of beam–columns. This study aims to analyze the impact of sea-level rise and tropical cyclones on mangroves in the context of global climate change from 1993 to 2023, and to explore the development status, co-operative relationships and future trends in this research field. In order to analyze future research directions for mangroves in the context of climate, this study also provides an important basis and reference for the development of research related to the mitigation of natural disasters. Using CNKI and the Web of Science as data sources, this study employs the bibliometric tool CiteSpace 6.3 R1 to conduct a quantitative and visual analysis of the research field. The research findings indicate the following: (1) The volume of publications in this field has been increasing year by year; especially since 2010, the rate of increase has accelerated, indicating an increased academic interest in this area. (2) From the authorship maps of the two data sources, it can be observed that the collaboration network is dense, indicating the existence of co-operative relationships among researchers. (3) From the analysis of the keywords, it is evident that, with the rise of artificial intelligence, the focus of keywords has gradually shifted from traditional mangrove mechanism research and ecosystem studies to research on mangroves that integrates big data, artificial intelligence, and high-resolution remote sensing data. (4) As time has progressed, areas of research interest have been shifting from the study of disturbances and damage to mangrove vegetation to the study of mangrove resilience and vulnerability in the context of natural disasters, their carbon sequestration capabilities, and their protective functions against wind and waves. The use of remote sensing technology for the monitoring and conservation of mangroves has emerged as a key area of focus for future research. In future research, there will be a focus on the adaptive capacity of mangroves to varying degrees of sea-level rise and the increasing frequency of tropical cyclones, as well as on what measures can be taken to enhance the resilience of mangrove ecosystems. Quantitative and visual analysis of the development trends in this field can provide a reference for the construction of a disaster monitoring platform for mangroves affected by sea-level rise and tropical cyclones, and can aid the development of research aimed at mitigating the impacts of natural disasters. Furthermore, the integration of remote sensing technology and ecological models can facilitate more detailed research, offering more effective tools and strategies for the conservation and management of mangroves. Background: Sinorhizobium meliloti is noted for its exceptional capacity to produce unsaturated fatty acids (UFAs). Earlier studies have indicated that S. meliloti primarily employs the FabA-FabB pathway for UFA synthesis, however, the mechanisms remain elusive. This study was conducted to elucidate these mechanisms responsible for the significant UFA production in S. meliloti. Methods: The genes encoding enoyl-acyl carrier protein (ACP) reductase (ENR) were disrupted using the suicide plasmid pK18mobsacB, followed by the creation of single-crossover and double-crossover mutants. The ENR proteins were expressed in Escherichia coli BL21(DE3) strains and subsequently purified. Their enzymatic activities were assessed through gel electrophoresis and NADH oxidation assays. Additionally, the fatty acid composition was determined using gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) and thin-layer chromatography. Results: Our findings demonstrate that the heterologous expression of fabI2 in a temperature-sensitive E. coli fabI mutant results in a significant enhancement of UFA production. Genetic analyses confirmed that fabI2 is an indispensable gene in the S. meliloti genome, as it cannot be disrupted. Interestingly, we observed that fabI2 could only be functionally replaced by the Enterococcus faecalis fabI gene and not by the homologous fabI1 from S. meliloti, E. coli fabI, or Pseudomonas aeruginosa fabV. Furthermore, we validated that the deletion of fabI1 in S. meliloti triggered an increase in UFA production compared to the wild-type strain Rm1021. Conclusions: In this study, we identified the ENR, encoded by the S. meliloti SMc00326 gene (fabI2), as playing a pivotal role in the biosynthesis of UFAs. Additionally, the FabI1 enzyme, encoded by SMc00005, was found to modulate the fatty acid composition within S. meliloti. Together, these discoveries establish a foundation for the development of a model that explains the significant contribution of FabI2 to the robust synthesis of UFAs in S. meliloti. A quantum theory of mesoscopic circuits, based on the discreteness of electric charges, was recently proposed. However, it is not applied widely, mainly because of the difficulty of the mathematical solution to the finite-difference Schrödinger equation. In this paper, we propose an improved perturbation method to calculate Schrödinger equations of the inductance and capacity coupling mesoscopic circuit. With a unitary transformation, the finite differential Schrödinger equation of the system is divided into two equations in generalized momentum representation. The concrete value of the parameter in circuits is important to solving the equation. Both the perturbation method suitable case and the improved perturbation method suitable case, the wave functions, and energy level of the system are achieved. As an application, the current fluctuations are calculated and discussed. The improved mathematical method would be helpful for the popularization of the quantum circuits theory. Rapid-cooling converter vanadium slag (CVS) is a raw material for the extraction of vanadium which can improve the productivity of the industry, but little research work has been carried out in this respect. The investigation of rapid-cooling CVS is essential for the industrial production of vanadium. In this study, a process for the extraction of vanadium from rapid-cooling CVS by sodium roasting–water leaching was investigated, including the factors that affect the vanadium extraction efficiency and phase transformation mechanisms of roasting and leaching. The analysis of the raw material indicates that the rapid-cooling CVS contains spinel, olivine, and glass phases. The vanadium-rich spinel is tightly enveloped by the other phases, forming a stable structure. After roasting with Na2CO3 at 800°C for 1.5 h, the vanadium is converted to soluble sodium metavanadate (NaVO3), and the other phases are oxidized to Fe2O3, Fe2TiO5, and NaAlSi3O8, respectively. Under the optimum leaching conditions (liquid to solid ratio of 4:1 mL/g, 80°C, 2 h), more than 93% of the vanadium is extracted. The experimental result shows that the recovery of vanadium from rapid-cooling CVS not only requires low production cost but also has a high efficiency of vanadium extraction. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The requirements for accurate models of renewable energy power plants are urgent for power system operation analysis. Most existing model research in this area is for wind turbine and photovoltaic (PV) power generation units; a rare renewable power plant model validation mainly adopts the single-machine infinite-bus system. The single equivalent machine method is always used, and the interactions between the power plant and the grid are ignored. The voltage at the interface bus is treated as constant, although this is not consistent with its actual characteristics. The phase shifter method of hybrid dynamic simulation has been applied in the model validation of wind farms. However, this method is heavily dependent on phasor measurement units (PMU) data, resulting in a limited application scope, and it is difficult to realize the model error location step by step. In this paper, the fast-responding generator method is used for renewable power plant model validation. The complete scheme comprising model validation, error localization, parameter sensitivity analysis, and parameter correction is proposed. Model validation is conducted based on measured records from a large-scale PV power plant in northwest China. The comparison of simulated and measured data verifies the feasibility and accuracy of the proposed scheme. Compared to the conventional model validation method, the maximum deviation of the active power simulation values obtained by the method proposed in this paper is only 38.8% of that of the conventional method, and the overall simulation curve fits the actual measured values significantly better. High-precision extraction of mangrove areas is a crucial prerequisite for estimating mangrove area as well as for regional planning and ecological protection. However, mangroves typically grow in coastal and near-shore areas with complex water colors, where traditional mangrove extraction algorithms face challenges such as unclear region segmentation and insufficient accuracy. To address this issue, in this paper we propose a new algorithm for mangrove identification and extraction based on Orthogonal Matching Filter–Weighted Least Squares (OMF-WLS) target spectral information. This method first selects GF-6 remote sensing images with less cloud cover, then enhances mangrove feature information through preprocessing and band extension, combining whitened orthogonal subspace projection with the whitened matching filter algorithm. Notably, this paper innovatively introduces Weighted Least Squares (WLS) filtering technology. WLS filtering precisely processes high-frequency noise and edge details in images using an adaptive weighting matrix, significantly improving the edge clarity and overall quality of mangrove images. This innovative approach overcomes the bottleneck of traditional methods in effectively extracting edge information against complex water color backgrounds. Finally, Otsu's method is used for adaptive threshold segmentation of GF-6 remote sensing images to achieve target extraction of mangrove areas. Our experimental results show that OMF-WLS improves extraction accuracy compared to traditional methods, with overall precision increasing from 0.95702 to 0.99366 and the Kappa coefficient rising from 0.88436 to 0.98233. In addition, our proposed method provides significant improvements in other metrics, demonstrating better overall performance. Amentoflavone (AF) is a biflavonoid compound found in many plants. In this study, we first demonstrate that AF has a potent antiviral effect against the influenza virus via the inhibition of viral attachment and virucidal effects. The anti-influenza-viral effect of AF was evaluated using green fluorescent protein-tagged Influenza A virus (IAV) with fluorescent microscopy and flow cytometry analysis. AF decreased the GFP expression by viral infection, dose-dependently. Fifty micromoles of AF suppressed the GFP expression by virus infection of up to 70% of untreated infected control cells. Consistently, immunofluorescence results showed the inhibitory effect of AF on viral protein expression. Time-of-addition and hemagglutination assays revealed that AF inhibits viral binding to cells by interfering with the hemagglutinin (HA) of IAV. Furthermore, AF has a virucidal effect and blocks cytopathic effects caused by the Influenza B virus and H3N2 IAV. Additionally, AF represses the neuraminidase (NA) activity of IAV. In silico analysis confirmed the potential interaction of AF with both HA and NA. Premise: The expected concomitant increase in multiple stressors such as herbivory and drought may threaten peatland ecosystems. How Sphagnum, the ecological engineers of peatlands, responds to combined stressors remains largely unexplored. Here we aimed to clarify resource allocations in Sphagnum during concomitant herbivory and drought. Methods: S. magellanicum and S. fuscum were exposed to drought and herbivory together or separately in laboratory experiments and analyzed for growth (biomass production and net photosynthetic rate), defense (phenolics in leachates and phenolics in extraction) and nonstructural carbohydrates (soluble sugar and starch) in relation to untreated controls. Results: Herbivory and drought had significant interactive effects on Sphagnum growth and defense. In both species, drought without herbivory reduced the phenolics in leachate, but with herbivory increased phenolics, indicating a synergistic effect between herbivory and drought on Sphagnum defense. Both stressors significantly decreased biomass production, with the combined stress having a more negative effect. Interestingly, a growth–defense trade‐off was found in the drought treatment of both Sphagnum species, but disappeared in the wet treatment. Conversely, a trade‐off between soluble sugars and phenolics was found in the wet but not in the drought treatment, suggesting that soluble sugars may play a role in inducing the defense and hence mask the growth–defense trade‐off in peat mosses. Conclusions: Our results emphasize that predicting the impact of combined stressors on peat moss traits is complex and challenging. Evidence regarding the relationship between remnant cholesterol (RC) and hyperuricemia is limited. The purpose of this study is to investigate the association between RC and hyperuricemia in the middle aged and elderly Chinese. Information was extracted from the China Health and Retirement Longitudinal Study (CHARLS) survey 2011 and survey 2015. Four logistic regression models were established. Propensity score matching (PSM) and inverse probability of treatment weighting (IPTW) were applied to balance the baseline. Next, sensitivity analyses and restricted cubic spline (RCS) analysis were conducted to further explore the association. Cross-lagged panel model (CLPM) and mediation analysis were used to deduce the causal relationship between RC and hyperuricemia. This study contained 6,447 participants. A positive association between high RC and hyperuricemia was found in the full adjusted model (OR:1.80, P < 0.001). Similar results were also seen after PSM (OR:1.86, P < 0.001), IPTW (OR:1.80, P < 0.001) and sensitive analysis in non-overweight subgroups (OR:1.77, P < 0.001). Though non-linear relationship was not observed, CLPM exhibited that high level of RC can directly cause increase of blood uric acid (standardized β = 0.005, P < 0.001). Moreover, mediation analysis suggested that the positive association can be mediated by hypertension (β = 0.024; p = 0.004), CRP (β = 0.050; p < 0.001) and WBC (β = 0.024; p = 0.010). Background and aims: Several risk models for esophageal stricture after endoscopic submucosal dissection have been developed. However, some of them did not include the use of steroids in the risk analysis. Glucocorticoid sensitivity mediated by glucocorticoid receptor expression has not been discussed in this condition. Methods: Clinical and endoscopic characteristics were included in the logistic regression model to establish a nomogram for stenosis prediction. The score for each risk factor was estimated. Risk factors of ineffective oral steroid prophylaxis were analyzed and glucocorticoid receptor expressions were detected by immunohistochemistry. Results: Three hundred fourteen patients of endoscopic submucosal dissection for esophageal superficial neoplasms were included to develop the nomogram. The circumferential range(≤ 3/4, 3/4–1 or the whole circumference), longitudinal diameter reached 4 cm (yes or not) and lesion location (the cervical and upper thoracic part, the middle thoracic part or the lower thoracic part) consisted of the nomogram. Patients have a high risk of esophageal stricture if they have a total point greater than 36. In the simplified risk score model, the corresponding cutoff score was 1. 92 patients with oral steroid prophylaxis were separately analyzed and the circumferential mucosal defect involving 7/8 or more was an independent risk factor of ineffective prevention (OR 12.2, 95%CI 5.27–28.11). The expression of glucocorticoid receptor β was higher in the stricture group (p = 0.042 for AOD; p = 0.016 for the scoring system). Conclusions: We established a nomogram for esophageal stricture prediction. Depending on the characteristics of lesions, it is possible to estimate the risk of stricture under routine post-ESD treatments (no steroids or oral steroids). Alternative treatments should be considered if the risk is extremely high, especially for patients with mucosal defects involving 7/8 or more of circumference in which oral steroid treatment tends to be ineffective. The characteristics of zooplankton communities and the relationships with the aquatic environment in the shallow waters of northern Liaodong Bay were investigated. Spot sampling surveys were carried out in April, June, September, and November 2018 to assess zooplankton species composition and diversity, abundance, biomass, and dominant species, and the associated relationships with environmental factors. A total of 45 species of zooplankton were recorded in the survey, comprising 18 Copepoda, 2 Amphipoda, 1 Mysidacea, 1 Decapoda, 1 Chaetognatha, 7 Hydrozoa, 1 Tunicate, and 14 planktonic larvae. Overall, the most dominant species was Aidanosagitta crassa (Tokioka, 1938), with copepods and planktonic larvae also dominating the zooplankton community. However, there was a seasonal alternation of species dominance. A cluster analysis showed that the zooplankton community in spring differed from other seasons and was mostly influenced by suspended particulate matter. Bioenv analysis indicated the main environmental factor affecting the zooplankton community in spring was suspended particulate matter. In summer, the determining variables were temperature, dissolved inorganic nitrogen (DIN), nitrate, and sediment pH. In autumn, temperature, DIN, and nitrate were determining variables, and dissolved oxygen (DO) and DIN in winter. Zooplankton abundance and biomass were influenced by salinity, suspended particulate matter, chemical oxygen demand (COD), chlorophyll, and water and sediment pH. In general, the shallow sea area north of Liaodong Bay is rich in zooplankton species and exhibits significant seasonal variations. Human activities have disturbed the biological community to a certain extent, and the environmental factors in this area are closely related to the diversity of zooplankton species. With the development of technology and the improvement of living standards, consumer demand for toy products has also changed. More people are showing strong interest and demand for digital toy products. However, in the current digital toy design process, extracting the hairstyle features of the doll's head is still a challenge. Therefore, this study extracts the two-dimensional contour of the target hairstyle and matches it with the template hairstyle in the database. Then, combining hair texture information and hairstyle structural features, fine geometric texture details are generated on the hairstyle mesh surface. Finally, a doll head modeling method based on model matching and texture generation is proposed. The results showed that the hairstyle of the Generative model was almost the same as the real hairstyle. Compared with the modeling methods based on interactive genetic algorithm and digital image, the average F1 value of this method was 0.95, and the mean absolute error was the smallest. The accuracy of the target model modeling was 95.4%, and the area enclosed by the receiver operating characteristic curve and coordinate axis was 0.965. In summary, the doll head modeling method based on model matching and texture generation proposed in this study can generate high-precision and realistic hairstyle models corresponding to the hairstyle. Purpose: There is a lack of real-world data on the epidemiology, clinical manifestations, treatment effects, and prognosis of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in patients with B-cell non-Hodgkin lymphoma (B-NHL). This study aimed to investigate the clinical features and prognostic factors of COVID-19 in patients with B-NHL. Patients and Methods: This study included individuals diagnosed with B-NHL who were also diagnosed with COVID-19 and hospitalized. A retrospective analysis was conducted, and univariate and multivariate logistic regression were used to identify independent factors affecting the duration of the positive-to-negative transition of COVID-19 nucleic acid test results and prognoses. Receiver operating characteristic curves were used to assess diagnostic accuracy and determine the optimal threshold. Results: Among 80 patients with COVID-19 and B-NHL, relapsed or refractory lymphoma and diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL) accounted for 13.8% and 65% of cases, respectively. The mean age was 60.4 ± 13.0 years, and 50% of patients were women. The median duration of the positive-to-negative transition was 14 days (interquartile range [IQR], 17.2), and the median hospitalization duration was 12 days (IQR, 13). The rate of severe disease was 26.25%, and the 28-day mortality rate was 10.00%. Univariate and multivariate logistic regression analyses revealed that pathological classification of B-NHL, infection with COVID-19 within 3 months after the last dose of anti-CD20 monoclonal antibodies, and corticosteroid use were independent factors associated with a prolonged duration of the positive-to-negative transition. Compared with patients with DLBCL or FL and COVID-19, patients with B-NHL had longer nucleic acid test transition durations and higher rates of severe disease and mortality. Conclusion: In patients with B-NHL, infection with COVID-19 within 3 months after treatment with anti-CD20 monoclonal antibodies prolonged the positive-to-negative transition of nucleic acid test results and increased the risks of severe disease and 28-day mortality. High-altitude pulmonary edema (HAPE) is a fatal threat for sojourners who ascend rapidly without sufficient acclimatization. Acclimatized sojourners and adapted natives are both insensitive to HAPE but have different physiological traits and molecular bases. In this study, based on GSE52209, the gene expression profiles of HAPE patients were compared with those of acclimatized sojourners and adapted natives, with the common and divergent differentially expressed genes (DEGs) and their hub genes identified, respectively. Bioinformatic methodologies for functional enrichment analysis, immune infiltration, diagnostic model construction, competing endogenous RNA (ceRNA) analysis and drug prediction were performed to detect potential biological functions and molecular mechanisms. Next, an array of in vivo experiments in a HAPE rat model and in vitro experiments in HUVECs were conducted to verify the results of the bioinformatic analysis. The enriched pathways of DEGs and immune landscapes for HAPE were significantly different between sojourners and natives, and the common DEGs were enriched mainly in the pathways of development and immunity. Nomograms revealed that the upregulation of TNF-α and downregulation of RPLP0 exhibited high diagnostic efficiency for HAPE in both sojourners and natives, which was further validated in the HAPE rat model. The addition of TNF-α and RPLP0 knockdown activated apoptosis signaling in endothelial cells (ECs) and enhanced endothelial permeability. In conclusion, TNF-α and RPLP0 are shared biomarkers and molecular bases for HAPE susceptibility during the acclimatization/adaptation/maladaptation processes in sojourners and natives, inspiring new ideas for predicting and treating HAPE. To achieve effective utilization of large-scale solid waste, this study prepared subgrade materials using mine waste, fly ash, and carbide slag as raw materials. The effects of the basic structure and composition ratio of the three raw materials on the performance of the subgrade materials were investigated. The mechanisms and strength enhancement effects of fly ash, carbide slag, and fly ash–carbide slag composite-stabilized mine solid waste were analyzed. The optimal mixing ratio of the subgrade materials was determined. When the mass ratio of carbide slag to fly ash was 1:4 and the total addition amount was 20%, the subgrade material had an optimal moisture content of 16.8%, maximum dry density of 1.70 g/cm3, and 90-day compressive strength of 8.51 MPa. This fully solid waste inorganic binder-stabilized subgrade material can effectively utilize large quantities of solid waste and meet the performance requirements of subgrade materials, thereby providing a good technical solution for large-scale solid waste disposal. Background: Low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) is acknowledged as an independent risk factor (IRF) for atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease. Nevertheless, studies on the impact of LDL-C on microvasculature are still scarce. The retina, abundant in microvasculature, can now be examined for microvascular alterations through the novel, non-invasive, and quantitative optical coherence tomography angiography (OCTA) technique. Methods: In this cross-sectional study, 243 patients from the geriatric department were recruited (between December 2022 and December 2023). Individuals were classified into four groups based on their LDL-C levels: Group 1 (≤ 1.8 mmol/L), Group 2 (> 1.8 mmol/L to ≤ 2.6 mmol/L), Group 3 (> 2.6 mmol/L to ≤ 3.4 mmol/L), and Group 4 (> 3.4 mmol/L). The OCTA results including retinal vessel density (VD), foveal avascular zone (FAZ) area, macula thickness, and retinal nerve fiber layer (RNFL) thickness were contrasted across these groups. T-tests, analysis of variance, Welch's tests, or rank-sum tests were employed for statistical comparisons. In cases where significant differences between groups were found, post-hoc multiple comparisons or rank-sum tests were performed for pairwise group comparisons. Spearman's correlation coefficient was employed to perform bivariate correlation analysis to evaluate the relationship between LDL-C levels and various OCTA measurements. Multivariable regression analysis was used to evaluate the association between LDL-C levels and various OCTA measurements. Linear regression analysis or mixed-effects linear models were applied. Results: It was discovered that individuals with LDL-C levels exceeding 2.6 mmol/L (Groups 3 and 4) exhibited reduced VD in the retina, encompassing both the optic disc and macular regions, compared to those with LDL-C levels at or below 2.6 mmol/L (Groups 1 and 2). A negative correlation among LDL-C levels and retinal VD was identified, with r values spanning from − 0.228 to -0.385. Further regression analysis presented β values between − 0.954 and − 2.378. Additionally, no notable disparities were detected among the groups regarding FAZ area, macular thickness, and RNFL thickness. Optoelectronic neuromorphic devices based on oxide semiconductors have been potentially investigated to mimic the functions of human visual synapses. However, the challenge comes from the wide bandgap characteristics of numerous oxide semiconductors, which restricts the response range of the device under ultra‐violet (UV) region. Strategies for widening the response range are mostly focused on artificially generating the defect states, however, most of them results in mimicking the tetrachromatic visual system from UV to visible light range. To be used for industries such as robotics, or autonomous vehicles, mimicking the tetrachromatic vision system should be overcome up to near‐infrared (NIR) region. Here, a facile solution processed indium‐gallium‐zinc‐oxide and silver oxide structured optoelectronic synaptic transistor is fabricated not only to mimic the function of human synapses, but to overcome the tetrachromatic human visual system up to the NIR region. The device not only showed photoresponse characteristics under the entire 405 to 830 nm wavelength region, but also showed significant synaptic behaviors with over 512 conduction states under a reasonable incident light power density of 4.5 mW cm−2. An alternative route is offered for the electrodeposition of polymelamine (pMel) by electropolymerization in deep eutectic solvents, which has been proposed previously (Electrocatalysis 12:238–250, 2021) but difficultly synthesizing pMel in (Electrocatalysis 14:131–137, 2023). The introduction of a modest amount of water as an additive into deep eutectic solvents enables the electropolymerzation of melamine to pMel on carbon electrodes. The electrochemical behavior and catalytic activity of active chlorine species in different proportions of water-containing deep eutectic solvents was studied carefully by cyclic voltammetry. This study investigates the role of USP47, a deubiquitinating enzyme, in the tumor microenvironment and its impact on antitumor immune responses. Analysis of TCGA database revealed distinct expression patterns of USP47 in various tumor tissues and normal tissues. Prostate adenocarcinoma showed significant downregulation of USP47 compared to normal tissue. Correlation analysis demonstrated a positive association between USP47 expression levels and infiltrating CD8+ T cells, neutrophils, and macrophages, while showing a negative correlation with NKT cells. Furthermore, using Usp47 knockout mice, we observed a slower tumor growth rate and reduced tumor burden. The absence of USP47 led to increased infiltration of immune cells, including neutrophils, macrophages, NK cells, NKT cells, and T cells. Additionally, USP47 deficiency resulted in enhanced activation of cytotoxic T lymphocytes (CTLs) and altered T cell subsets within the tumor microenvironment. These findings suggest that USP47 plays a critical role in modulating the tumor microenvironment and promoting antitumor immune responses, highlighting its potential as a therapeutic target in prostate cancer. Background: As a genus within the Clavicipitaceae, Metarhizium exhibits rich morphological and ecological diversity, with a wide distribution and a variety of hosts. Currently, sixty-eight species of Metarhizium have been described. New information: A new species of Metarhizium, M. puerense (Hong Yu bis), was described in Pu'er City, Yunnan Province, south-western China. Based on morphological characteristics and multilocus phylogenetic analyses, Metarhizium puerense was confirmed to be phylogenetically related to M. album, but was clearly separated and formed a distinct branch. In contrast, the host of Metarhizium album was plants and leafhoppers and that lepidopteran larvae were the host of M. puerense. Selaginella tamariscina is a perennial plant that is used for diverse diseases. This study investigated whether Selaginella tamariscina has an antiviral effect against influenza A virus (IAV) infection. We used green fluorescent protein (GFP)-tagged influenza A virus (IAV) to examine the effect of Selaginella tamariscina ethanol extract (STE) on influenza viral infection. Fluorescence microscopy and flow cytometry showed that STE potently represses GFP expression by the virus, dose-dependently. STE significantly inhibited the expression of the IAV M2, NP, HA, NA, NS1, and PB2 proteins. Time-of-addition and hemagglutination inhibition assays showed that STE has an inhibitory effect on hemagglutinin and viral binding on the cells at an early infection time. In addition, STE exerted a suppressive effect on the neuraminidase activity of the H1N1 and H3N2 IAVs. Furthermore, dose-dependently, STE inhibited the cytopathic effect induced by H3N2, as well as by H1N1 IAV. Especially in the presence of 200 µg/mL STE, the cytopathic effect was completely blocked. This study aimed to develop a multi-objective distant-water fisheries survey scheme that balances survey cost and effectiveness. Based on the survey data from 2021 to 2023 in Northwest Pacific Ocean, the relative abundance distribution of Scomber australasicus, Scomber japonicus, Sardinops melanostictus was simulated using Kriging interpolation, and assume relative resource as their 'true' values. The effectiveness of the Simple random sampling (Design 1), Systematic sampling (Design 2), Stratified random sampling based on stratum area size allocation method (Design 3), and Stratified random sampling based on fishery resource biomass allocation method (Design 4) was assessed through computer simulation. Two indicators, Relative estimation error (REE) and Relative bias (RB) were used to evaluate the accuracy of the assessment effects, and the number of sampling stations was selected using the Accuracy change rate (ACR). The results showed that the estimation accuracy of the four sampling designs were different. In general, Design 4 had the highest accuracy, followed by Design 3, Design 2 and Design 1. The REE values of target species abundance index estimation of Design2 fluctuated with the increasing number of sampling stations. Design 4 exhibited higher accuracy in estimating the abundance index of S. japonicus, S. melanostictus and the total fishery resources. However, Design 4 demonstrated an overestimation in estimating the abundance index of Chub mackerel. Using Design 4 for simulated sampling, and considering all objectives, the optimal number of sampling stations could be set at 28. In times of prolonged economic doldrums across the globe, multinational firms (MNFs) offshoring blunders can undermine their competitiveness in the marketplace. To help the MNF formulate a more resilient offshoring strategy and identify the most desirable offshoring destination, this article aims to identify dynamic risk factors that significantly hinder the efficiency of offshoring and then measure specific offshoring risks over time using two different versions of data envelopment analysis (DEA) models and Malmquist productivity index (MPI). After assessing the degree of risk resiliency of the offshoring host countries over extended periods and then conducting Tobit regression analysis to identify key factors that significantly influence offshoring risks, we found that the host country's logistics efficiency (i.e., logistics performance index [LPI]) and domestic market size were critical indicators of offshoring success in that country. Since low‐cost sourcing countries (LCCs) tend to have relatively low LPIs and smaller domestic market sizes, they are not attractive offshoring destinations. This finding defies conventional wisdom. This article is one of the first longitudinal studies to assess the comprehensive risk resilience of 87 different offshoring destinations (countries) during multiple periods (6‐year span). The depletion of the ozone layer over the last four decades has increased Earth's exposure to ultraviolet (UV) radiation, posing significant health risks. Indium‐Gallium‐Zinc‐Oxide (IGZO) phototransistors have emerged as promising UV detection candidates, boasting a wide bandgap (>3 eV), low off‐current, high on‐current, and stability. However, previous efforts to enhance the photoresponse of IGZO phototransistors focused on visible light absorption layers, neglecting UV detection. Here, zinc oxide (ZnO) nanoparticles (NPs) as an absorption layer in IGZO TFTs for UV phototransistors are introduced. IGZO/ZnO TFTs exhibit robust photoresponsivity for UV light below 360 nm, showcasing rejection ratios (Ruv / Rvis) of 20 258, 62 261, 193 649, and 401 582 for wavelengths of 360, 340, 320, and 300 nm, respectively. The combination of IGZO's wide bandgap with ZnO NPs proves effective for detecting UV light below 360 nm, even at low incident light intensities (15 µW cm−2). Enhanced photoresponse characteristics are confirmed via ultraviolet photoelectron spectroscopy. This research highlights the potential of IGZO materials for UV phototransistors and introduces a novel perspective on the utilization of an additional absorption layer traditionally employed for the conventional extension into the visible light range. Background: Although DHFR gene amplification has long been known as a major mechanism for methotrexate (MTX) resistance in cancer, the early changes and detailed development of the resistance are not yet fully understood. Methods: We performed genomic, transcriptional and proteomic analyses of human colon cancer cells with sequentially increasing levels of MTX-resistance. Results: The genomic amplification evolved in three phases (pre-amplification, homogenously staining region (HSR) and extrachromosomal DNA (ecDNA)). We confirm that genomic amplification and increased expression of DHFR, with formation of HSRs and especially ecDNAs, is the major driver of resistance. However, DHFR did not play a detectable role in the early phase. In the late phase (ecDNA), increase in FAM151B protein level may also have an important role by decreasing sensitivity to MTX. In addition, although MSH3 and ZFYVE16 may be subject to different posttranscriptional regulations and therefore protein expressions are decreased in ecDNA stages compared to HSR stages, they still play important roles in MTX resistance. Conclusion: The study provides a detailed evolutionary trajectory of MTX-resistance and identifies new targets, especially ecDNAs, which could help to prevent drug resistance. Obesity and metabolic syndrome alter serum lipid profiles. They also increase vulnerability to viral infections and worsen the survival rate and symptoms after infection. How serum lipids affect influenza virus proliferation is unclear. Here, we investigated the effects of lysophosphatidylcholines on influenza A virus (IAV) proliferation. IAV particles in the culture medium were titrated using extraction-free quantitative PCR, and viral RNA and protein levels were assessed using real-time PCR and Western blot, respectively. RNA sequencing data were analyzed using PCA and heatmap analysis, and pathway analysis was performed using the KEGG mapper and PathIN tools. Statistical analysis was conducted using SPSS21.0. LPC treatment of THP-1 cells significantly increased IAV proliferation and IAV RNA and protein levels, and saturated LPC was more active in IAV RNA expression than unsaturated LPC was. The functional analysis of genes affected by LPCs showed that the expression of genes involved in IAV signaling, such as suppressor of cytokine signaling 3 (SOCS3), phosphoinositide-3-kinase regulatory subunit 3 (PI3K) and AKT serine/threonine kinase 3 (AKT3), Toll-like receptor 7 (TKR7), and interferon gamma receptor 1 (IFNGR1), was changed by LPC. Altered influenza A pathways were linked with MAPK and PI3K/AKT signaling. Treatment with inhibitors of MAPK or PI3K attenuated viral gene expression changes induced by LPCs. The present study shows that LPCs stimulated virus reproduction by modifying the cellular environment to one in which viruses proliferated better. This was mediated by the MAPK, JNK, and PI3K/AKT pathways. Further animal studies are needed to confirm the link between LPCs from serum or the respiratory system and IAV proliferation. The joint action-value function (JAVF) plays a key role in the centralized training of multi-agent deep reinforcement learning (MADRL)-based algorithms using the value function decomposition (VFD) and in the generating process of a collaborative policy between agents. However, under the influence of multiple factors such as environmental noise, inadequate exploration and iterative updating mechanism, estimation bias is inevitably introduced, causing its overestimation problem, which in turn prevents agents from obtaining accurate reward signals during the learning process, and fails to correctly approximate the optimal policy. To address this problem, this paper first analyzes the causes of joint action-value function overestimation, gives the corresponding mathematical proofs and theoretical derivations, and obtains the lower bound of the overestimation error; then, a MADRL overestimation reduction method based on the multi-step weighted double estimation named λWD QMIX is proposed. Specifically, the λWD QMIX method effectively achieves more stable and accurate JAVF estimation results using the bias correction estimation mechanisms based on the weighted double estimation and multi-step updating based on eligibility trace backup, without additionally adding or changing any network structure. The results of a series of experiments on the StarCraft II micromanipulation benchmark show that the proposed λWD QMIX algorithm can effectively improve the final performance and learning efficiency of the baseline algorithm, and can be seamlessly integrated with the partially MADRL algorithms based on communication learning. While a gambler may occasionally win, continuous gambling inevitably results in a net loss to the casino. This study experimentally demonstrates the profitability of a particularly deceptive casino game: a two-armed antique Mills Futurity slot machine. The main findings clearly show that both non-random and random two-arm strategies, predetermined by the player and repeated without interruption, are always profitable for the casino, despite two coins being refunded for every two consecutive losses by the gambler. We theoretically explore the cyclical nature of slot machine strategies and speculate on the impact of the frequency of switching strategies on casino returns. This study aims to report three new species of Conoideocrella and Moelleriella from Yunnan Province, Southwestern China. Species of Conoideocrella and Moelleriella parasitize scale insects (Coccidae and Lecaniidae, Hemiptera) and whiteflies (Aleyrodidae, Hemiptera). Based on the phylogenetic analyses of the three-gene nrLSU, tef-1α, and rpb1, it showed one new record species (Conoideocrella tenuis) and one new species (Conoideocrella fenshuilingensis sp. nov.) in the genus Conoideocrella, and two new species, i.e., Moelleriella longzhuensis sp. nov. and Moelleriella jinuoana sp. nov. in the genus Moelleriella. The three new species were each clustered into separate clades that distinguished themselves from one another. All of them were distinguishable from their allied species based on their morphology. Morphological descriptions, illustrations, and comparisons of the allied taxa of the four species are provided in the present paper. Direct enantioselective reduction of the C=C bond of β-polyfluoro-alkylated enones is an important but long-pending subject in asymmetric catalysis. Here, we report on the viability of visible light-driven cooperative photoredox and chiral hydrogen-bonding catalysis to effectively address this challenge, as a variety of products are obtained in high yields (up to 85%) with good to excellent enantioselectivities (up to 98% ee). The formation of thermodynamically favorable enol intermediates after double single-electron reduction represents the center of the success. Additionally, the utility of the current method is validated by the convenient regio-specific and -diverse synthesis of various deuterated derivatives for these products using inexpensive D2O as the deuterium source. The dynamics of spin–orbit-coupled Bose–Einstein condensate with parity-time symmetry through a moving obstacle potential is simulated numerically. In the miscible two-component condensate, the formation of the Kármán vortex street is observed in one component, while 'the half-quantum vortex street' is observed in the other component. Other patterns of vortex shedding, such as oblique vortex dipoles, V-shaped vortex pairs, irregular turbulence, and combined modes of various wakes, can also be found. The ratio of inter-vortex spacing in one row to the distance between vortex rows is approximately 0.18, which is less than the stability condition 0.28 of classical fluid. The drag force acting on the obstacle potential is simulated. The parametric regions of Kármán vortex street and other vortex patterns are calculated. The range of Kármán vortex street is surrounded by the region of combined modes. In addition, spin–orbit coupling disrupts the symmetry of the system and the gain-loss affects the local particle distribution of the system, which leads to the local symmetry breaking of the system, and finally influences the stability of the Kármán vortex street. The need for cross-comparison and validation of all-weather Land Surface Temperature (LST) products has arisen due to the release of multiple such products aimed at providing comprehensive all-weather monitoring capabilities. In this study, we focus on validating two well-established all-weather LST products (i.e. MLST-AS and TRIMS LST) against in-situ measurements obtained from four high-quality LST validation sites: Evora, Gobabeb, KIT-Forest, and Lake Constance. For the land sites, MLST-AS exhibits better accuracy, with RMSEs ranging from 1.6 K to 2.1 K, than TRIMS LST, the RMSEs of which range from 1.9 K to 3.1 K. Because MLST-AS pixels classified as "inland water" are masked out, the validation over Lake Constance is limited to TRIMS LST: it yields a RMSE of 1.6 K. Furthermore, the validation results show that MLST-AS and TRIMS LST exhibit better accuracy under clear-sky conditions than unclear-sky conditions across all sites. Since the accuracy of the all-weather LST products is considerably affected by the input clear-sky LST products, we further compare the all-weather LST with the corresponding input clear-sky LST to conduct an error source analysis. Considering the clear-sky pixels on MLST-AS directly using the estimates from MLST, the error source analysis is limited to examining TRIMS LST and its input (i.e. MODIS LST). The findings indicate that TRIMS LST is highly correlated with MODIS LST. The investigation and validation of the two selected all-weather LST products objectively evaluate their accuracy and stability, which provides important information for applications of these all-weather LST products. This study aimed to explore the gut microbiota characteristics of ischemic and hemorrhagic stroke patients. A case–control study was conducted, and high-throughput sequencing of the V4–V5 region of 16S rRNA was used to analyze the differences in gut microbiota. The results showed that Proteobacteria was significantly increased in the ischemic stroke group compared with the healthy control group, while Fusobacteria was significantly increased in the hemorrhagic stroke group. In the ischemic stroke group, Butyricimonas, Alloprevotella, and Escherichia were significantly more abundant than in the healthy control group. In the hemorrhagic stroke group, Atopobium, Hungatella, Eisenbergiella, Butyricimonas, Odonbacter, Lachnociostridium, Alistipes, Parabacteroides, and Fusobacterium were significantly more abundant than in the healthy control group. Additionally, Alloprevotella, Ruminococcus, and Prevotella were significantly more abundant in the ischemic stroke group than in the hemorrhagic stroke group. The gut microbiota of ischemic and hemorrhagic stroke patients has significant diversity characteristics.
