Insects produce silk to form cocoons, nests, and webs, which are important for their survival and reproduction. However, little is known about the molecular mechanism of silk protein synthesis at the translation level. The solute carrier family 7 (SLC7) genes are involved in activating the target of rapamycin complex 1 (TORC1) signaling pathway and protein translation process, but the physiological roles of SLC7 genes in silk‐producing insects have not been reported. Here, we found that amino acid signaling regulates silk protein synthesis and larval development via the L‐type amino acid transporter 1 (LAT1; also known as SLC7A5) in Bombyx mori. A total of 12 SLC7 homologs were identified in the silkworm genome, among which BmSLC7A5 was found to be a silk gland‐enriched gene and may be involved in leucine transport. Bioinformatics analysis indicated that SLC7A5 displays high homology and a close phylogenetic relationship in silk‐producing insects. Subsequently, we found that leucine treatment significantly increased silk protein synthesis by improving the transcription and protein levels of silk genes. Furthermore, systemic and silk gland‐specific knockout of BmSLC7A5 led to decreased silk protein synthesis by inhibiting TORC1 signaling, and somatic mutation also resulted in arrested development from the 5th instar to the early pupal stage. Altogether, our study reveals that BmSLC7A5 is involved in regulating silk protein synthesis and larval development by affecting the TORC1 signaling pathway, which provides a new strategy and target for improving silk yield. Insect silks possess excellent biodegradability, biocompatibility and mechanical properties, and have numerous applications in biomedicine and tissue engineering. However, the application of silk fiber is hindered by its limited supply, especially from non‐domesticated insects. In the present study, the silk yield and organ size of Bombyx mori were significantly improved through genetic manipulation of the target of rapamycin complex 1 (TORC1) pathway components. Silk protein synthesis and silk gland size were decreased following rapamycin treatment, inhibiting the TORC1 signaling pathway both in vivo and ex vivo. The overexpression of posterior silk gland‐specific Rheb and BmSLC7A5 improved silk protein synthesis and silk gland size by activating the TORC1 signaling pathway. Silk yield in BmSLC7A5‐overexpression silkworms was significantly increased by approximately 25%. We have demonstrated that the TORC1 signaling pathway is involved in the transcription and translation of silk genes and transcriptional activators via phosphorylation of p70 S6 kinase 1 and 4E‐binding protein 1. Recovering ethane from natural gas involves significant energy consumption. Globally, the recycle split vapor process (RSV) is widely adopted as an efficient method for ethane recovery. Nonetheless, one major challenge faced by the RSV process is the lack of adequate heat integration, despite its overall effectiveness. In this article, we investigate the heat integration of the RSV process and propose two novel ethane recovery processes: the recycle split vapor process with direct heat integration of the feed gas (RSV‐DTI) and the recycle split vapor process with split heat integration of the feed gas (RSV‐SHI). A comparative analysis is conducted among these three processes, focusing on integrated energy consumption, exergy efficiency, and economic investment. The study's findings reveal the following: (1) The RSV‐DTI process distinguishes itself with its reduced energy consumption, enhanced stability, and minimized refrigerant usage. In comparison to the RSV process, the RSV‐DTI process achieves a reduction of over 15% in total compression duty and a remarkable decrease of 68% in propane usage. (2) Electricity emerges as the predominant energy consumed in the ethane recovery process, and the RSV‐DTI process significantly improves upon this aspect. Notably, the RSV‐DTI process incurs the lowest investment cost, yielding a swift payback period of approximately 1 year for the plant. The characteristics of the RSV‐DTI process are investigated, and the effect of changes in feed gas conditions on the heat integration of the RSV‐DTI process is analyzed. The characteristics of the RSV‐DTI process show the following: (1) Different pressures of feed gas existing in the main cold box have different minimum heat integration temperatures (MHIT). When the feed gas temperature is lower than the MHIT, heat integration becomes difficult, and the heat energy can be supplied by hot liquid propane at 48°C. When the feed gas temperature is higher than the MHIT, changes in feed gas temperature have little effect on the process, only affecting the external gas temperature. (2) The heat transfer duty of the demethanizer sideline outlet stream is affected by the feed gas pressure. To enhance heat integration, it is recommended to set the heat transfer duty of the low‐temperature sideline outlet stream (DLTSS) between 40% and 90% of the reboiler duty and the heat transfer duty of the high‐temperature sideline outlet stream (DHTSS) between 40% and 75% of the reboiler duty. We propose a photonic crystal (PC) nanostructure that combines bound states In the continuum (BIC) with a high-quality factor up to 107 for emitting circularly polarized beams. We break the in-plane inversion symmetry of the unit cell by tilting the triangular hole of the hexagonal lattice, resulting in the conversion of a symmetrically protected BIC to a quasi-BIC. High-quality circularly polarized light is obtained efficiently by adjusting the tilt angles of the hole and the thickness of the PC layer. By changing the hole's geometry in the unit cell, the Q-factor of circularly polarized light is further improved. The quality factor can be adjusted from 6.0 × 103 to 1.7 × 107 by deliberately changing the shape of the holes. Notably, the proposed nanostructure exhibits a large bandgap, which significantly facilitates the generation of stable single-mode resonance. The proposed structure is anticipated to have practical applications in the field of laser technology, particularly in the advancement of low-threshold PC surface emitting lasers (PCSELs). The detection of electric fields in the environment has great importance for understanding various natural phenomena, environmental monitoring, and ensuring human safety. This review paper provides an overview of the current state-of-the-art technologies utilized for sensing electric fields in the environment, the challenges encountered, and the diverse applications of this sensing technology. The technology is divided into three categories according to the differences in the physical mechanism: the electro-optic effect-based measurement system, the MEMS-based sensor, and the newly reported quantum effect-based sensors. The principles of the underlying methods are comprehensively introduced, and the tentative applications for each type are discussed. Detailed comparisons of the three different techniques are identified and discussed with regard to the instrument, its sensitivity, and bandwidth. The unsteady mechanism of unstart flow for an inlet with rectangular-to-elliptical shape transition (REST) under the off-design condition at a Mach of 4 is investigated using the delay detached eddy simulation method. With the help of numerical simulations, the unsteady dynamics, especially the low-frequency characteristics of the REST inlet unstart flow, as well as the self-sustaining mechanism, is investigated. The instantaneous flow illustrates the unsteady phenomena of the REST unstart flow, including the interaction between the cowl-closure leading edge (CLE) shock and the shear layer, breathing of the separation bubble, flapping of the separation shock, instability of the shear layer and vortex shedding along the shear layer. The spectral analysis reveals that the lower frequency dynamics is associated with the breathing of the separation bubble and the flapping motion of the separation shock wave, while the higher frequency is related to the instability of the shear layer affected by cowl-closure leading edge shock and the formation of shedding vortices. Further, coherence analysis shows that the contribution of these flow structures dominating the low-frequency dynamics couple with each other. Based on the dynamic mode decomposition results, the characteristics that contribute to the unsteady behaviour of unstart flow are summarized. The streamwise vortices downstream of the separation and the shedding vortices are believed to be the main driving force of the global low-frequency unsteadiness of the REST inlet unstart flow under the off-design condition. Moreover, the CLE shock plays an important role in the process during the dominant flow structure conversion from the backflow within the separation bubble into elongated streamwise structures. Intensification of northern hemisphere glaciation (iNHG), ~2.7 million years ago (Ma), led to establishment of the Pleistocene to present-day bipolar icehouse state. Here we document evolution of orbital- and millennial-scale Asian winter monsoon (AWM) variability across the iNHG using a palaeomagnetically dated centennial-resolution grain size record between 3.6 and 1.9 Ma from a previously undescribed loess-palaeosol/red clay section on the central Chinese Loess Plateau. We find that the late Pliocene–early Pleistocene AWM was characterized by combined 41-kyr and ~100-kyr cycles, in response to ice volume and atmospheric CO2 forcing. Northern hemisphere ice sheet expansion, which was accompanied by an atmospheric CO2 concentration decline, substantially increased glacial AWM intensity and its orbitally oscillating amplitudes across the iNHG. Superposed on orbital variability, we find that millennial AWM intensity fluctuations persisted during both the warmer (higher-CO2) late Pliocene and colder (lower-CO2) early Pleistocene, in response to both external astronomical forcing and internal climate dynamics. Persistent millennial Asian winter monsoon variability is shown to be superposed on orbital 41-kyr and 100-kyr cycles across the Pliocene–Pleistocene glacial intensification using a paleomagnetically dated high-resolution Chinese Loess Plateau grain size record. Limited triple‐phase boundaries arising from the accumulation of solid discharge product(s) in solid‐state cathodes (SSCs) pose a challenge to high‐property solid‐state lithium‐oxygen batteries (SSLOBs). Light‐assisted SSLOBs have been gradually explored as an ingenious system; however, the fundamental mechanisms of the SSCs interface behavior remain unclear. Here, we discovered that light assistance can enhance the fast inner‐sphere charge transfer in SSCs and regulate the discharge products with spherical particles generated via the surface growth model. Moreover, the high photoelectron excitation and transportation capabilities of SSCs can retard cathodic catalytic decay by avoiding structural degradation of the cathode with a reduced charge voltage. As one of the most widespread components in marine sediments, calcium carbonate (CaCO3) plays a crucial role in the global carbon cycle and climate changes. To efficiently semi‐quantify the CaCO3 concentration, a more effective, non‐destructive, economic, and accurate technique is required. Diffuse reflectance spectroscopy (DRS) has been widely used for the detection and quantification of minerals but has been less studied for CaCO3. This study synthesized a series of samples with well‐determined content of CaCO3 to analyze the visible and near‐infrared DRS characteristics. Results show that the intensity of the second derivative of Kubelka‐Munk (K‐M) remission functions of the DRS spectra at 2,340 nm (I2340) is linearly correlated with the CaCO3 content. Then, the new proxy I2340 was applied for marine sediments from the Pacific Ocean with known CaCO3 concentrations determined previously by chemical methods, and the robustness of the I2340 as the proxy for CaCO3 concentration was attested. Plain Language Summary: Calcium carbonate (CaCO3) is one of the most common components in marine sediments, and its content variations (precipitation and dissolution) play an important role in global environmental change and paleoclimate evolution. However, previous quantitative methods such as chemistry and X‐ray diffraction cannot simultaneously achieve efficiency, accuracy, and environmental protection. To solve the above problems, this study established a new proxy using visible and near‐infrared diffuse reflectance spectroscopy (DRS) technology that can detect calcium carbonate content in a fast, non‐destructive, economic, and eco‐friendly way. The verification results from synthetic standard samples and natural marine sediment samples indicate that the new DRS proxy can well reflect the variations in calcium carbonate content, which is more targeted for calcium carbonate with less interference compared with the traditional brightness proxy. Airborne mineral dust is sensitive to climatic changes, but its response to orbital forcing is still not fully understood. Here, we present a reconstruction of dust input to the Subarctic Pacific Ocean covering the past 190 kyr. The dust composition record is indicative of source moisture conditions, which were dominated by precessional variations. In contrast, the dust flux record is dominated by obliquity variations and displays an out‐of‐phase relationship with a dust record from the mid‐latitude North Pacific Ocean. Climate model simulations suggest precession likely drove changes in the aridity and extent of dust source regions. Additionally, the obliquity variations in dust flux can be explained by meridional shifts in the North Pacific westerly jet, driven by changes in the meridional atmospheric temperature gradient. Overall, our findings suggest that North Pacific dust input was primarily modulated by orbital‐controlled source aridity and the strength and position of the westerly winds. The focus here is on a thin solid body passing through a channel flow and interacting with the flow. Unsteady two-dimensional interactive properties from modelling, analysis and computation are presented along with comparisons. These include the effects of a finite dilation or constriction, as the body travels through, and the effects of a continuing expansion of the vessel. Finite-time clashing of the body with the channel walls is investigated as well as the means to avoid clashing. Sustained oscillations are found to be possible. In this work, to explore potential substitutions for the Co binder phase, ultrafine-grain WC-based cermets with various binder phases of Co, Ni and AlCoCrNiFeCu HEA were prepared using the SPS method. Based on SPS, WC-based cermets were fabricated at higher speed, showing fine carbide particles less than 410 μm. The microstructure, mechanical properties and wear properties were systematically evaluated. By comparison, the grain size of WC was the lowest for WC-10Co, while WC-10 HEA cermet held the coarsest WC particles. The hardness and fracture toughness of WC-10 HEA were the best among all three samples, with values of 93.2 HRA and 11.3 MP·m1/2. However, the bending strength of WC-10HEA was about 56.1% lower than that of WC-10Co, with a value of 1349.6 MPa. The reduction in bending strength is attributed to the lower density, formation of a newly Cr-Al rich phase and coarser WC grains. In dry sliding wear conditions, WC-10 HEA showed the lowest wear rate (0.98 × 10−6 mm3/(N·m)) and coefficient of friction (0.19), indicating the best wear resistance performance. This reveals that WC-based cermet with a HEA binder phase has superior wear performance due to the higher hardness and good self-lubricating effect of the wear products. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The integration of deep neural networks into sparse synthetic aperture radar (SAR) imaging is explored to enhance SAR imaging performance and reduce the system's sampling rate. However, the scarcity of training samples and mismatches between the training data and the SAR system pose significant challenges to the method's further development. In this paper, we propose a novel SAR imaging approach based on deep image prior powered by RED (DeepRED), enabling unsupervised SAR imaging without the need for additional training data. Initially, DeepRED is introduced as the regularization technique within the sparse SAR imaging model. Subsequently, variable splitting and the alternating direction method of multipliers (ADMM) are employed to solve the imaging model, alternately updating the magnitude and phase of the SAR image. Additionally, the SAR echo simulation operator is utilized as an observation model to enhance computational efficiency. Through simulations and real data experiments, we demonstrate that our method maintains imaging quality and system downsampling rate on par with deep-neural-network-based sparse SAR imaging but without the requirement for training data. The observed variations in intense geomagnetic flux lobes have a significant impact on regional geomagnetic fields, and produce unique geomagnetic characteristics. To investigate the time‐dependent effect of the Siberian flux lobe on the geomagnetic field in East Asia, we reconstructed a stacked full‐vector paleomagnetic secular variation record (since 2000 BCE) from three sediment cores collected in the Bohai Sea, China. Age models of the studied cores were established through a combination of radiocarbon 14C dating and inter‐profile correlation of mass‐normalized magnetic susceptibility. Rock magnetic results indicate that fine‐grained magnetite is the primary remanent carrier. We found that the paleomagnetic field records in the Bohai Sea correspond more closely with those from the middle latitudes, rather than the low latitudes. This was primarily attributed to the variation of the Siberian flux lobe. This study provides a better understanding of the contrasting patterns of regional geomagnetic fields in East Asia, and emphasizes the significant role played by the Siberian flux intensity lobe in shaping their formation. Spin defects in semiconductors have demonstrated promising electronic structures for potential applications in quantum computing and sensing. Among various proposed quantum byte systems, spin defects in silicon carbide have attracted significant attention due to several advantages they offer over other options. In this study, we investigate carbon-antisite-vacancy defects in 4H silicon carbide through ab initio density functional theory calculations. With the HSE06 functionals, the ab initio computation can predict much more accurate electronic structures. However, the corresponding computational cost is high, especially for supercells consisting of several hundreds of atoms. In this investigation, the carbon-antisite-vacancy defect is studied by using a high-performance computing cluster, with a specific focus on supercells that encompass two such defects. The extension of a single carbon-antisite-vacancy defect is depicted by referring to the spin density distribution. Different defect types show similar spin density patterns. Based on the single defect characteristics, supercells with paired carbon-antisite-vacancy defects are created. It is found that the binding energy can reach 2 eV for overlapping defects. In the case of insignificant overlap of the corresponding single defects, the ground state magnetic moment is 4 µB, accompanied by a negligible binding energy. However, if there is a significant overlap of the spin density, the magnetic moment changes to 2 µB. These findings can serve as helpful references for the study of spin defects in 4H silicon carbide, particularly in the potential carbon-antisite-vacancy application research. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The design of practical cathodes with high areal capacity in polymer‐based all‐solid‐state batteries remains challenged by the absence of an effective guiding principle that prolongs battery life‐span. Unlike liquid batteries, the notorious interface incompatibility between cathodes and electrolytes limited the cycling life of the all‐solid‐state batteries. Herein, this study proposes a dynamically stable cathode design with a fully covered surface, effectively mitigating interface failure and enabling the cyclic time of batteries with a cathode loading of 12.7 mg cm‒2 over 10 000 h. This study unveils the importance of local state of charge in affecting the interfacial properties of particles through local oxidative‐stability of electrolytes on the interface. This study shows that the phenomena can be strongly influenced by the porosity of the cathode through the perspective of discreteness of ion transport. Fluorosis can induce neurotoxicity. Sodium butyrate (SB), a histone deacetylase inhibitor, has important research potential in correcting glucose metabolism disorders and is widely used in a variety of neurological diseases and metabolic diseases, but it is not yet known whether it plays a role in combating fluoride-induced neurotoxicity. This study aims to evaluate the effect of SB on fluoride neurotoxicity and the possible associated mechanisms. The results of HE staining and Morris water maze showed that, in mice exposed to 100 mg/L fluoride for 3 months, the hippocampal cells arranged in loosely with large cell gaps and diminished in number. One thousand milligram per kilogram per day SB treatment improved fluoride-induced neuronal cell damage and spatial learning memory impairment. Western blot results showed that the abundance of malate dehydrogenase 2 (MDH2) and pyruvate dehydrogenase (PDH) in the hippocampus of fluorosis mice was increased, the abundance of pyruvate kinase M (PKM), lactate dehydrogenase (LDH), hexokinase (HK), phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase (PI3K), phosphorylated Akt (P-AKT), and hypoxia-inducible factor 1α (HIF-1α) was inhibited, and the content of lactate and ATP was decreased. SB treatment reversed the decreased glycolysis in the hippocampus of fluorosis mice. These results suggested that SB could ameliorate fluorosis-induced neurotoxicity, which might be linked with its function in regulating glycolysis as well as inhibition of the PI3K/AKT/HIF-1α pathway. Time-delay systems are widely used in industrial applications, such as chemical process and aerospace. The predictor-based feedback method is one of the effective ways to deal with such systems. This paper studies the delay compensation problem for linear systems with multiple distributed input delays. A novel state vector associated with the future state of the system is constructed, which reduces the original linear time-delay system to a linear delay-free system. Consider general minimum variance distortionless response (MVDR) robust adaptive beamforming problems based on the optimal estimation for both the desired signal steering vector and the interference‐plus‐noise covariance (INC) matrix. The optimal robust adaptive beamformer design problem is an array output power maximization problem, subject to three constraints on the steering vector, namely, a (convex or nonconvex) quadratic constraint ensuring that the direction‐of‐arrival (DOA) of the desired signal is separated from the DOA region of all linear combinations of the interference steering vectors, a double‐sided norm constraint, and a similarity constraint; as well as a ball constraint on the INC matrix, which is centered at a given data sample covariance matrix. To tackle the nonconvex problem, a new tightened semidefinite relaxation (SDR) approach is proposed to output a globally optimal solution; otherwise, a sequential convex approximation (SCA) method is established to return a locally optimal solution. The simulation results show that the MVDR robust adaptive beamformers based on the optimal estimation for the steering vector and the INC matrix have better performance (in terms of, e.g., the array output signal‐to‐interference‐plus‐noise ratio) than the existing MVDR robust adaptive beamformers by the steering vector estimation only. In the process of warehouse automation, the efficient picker routing strategy is one of the key factors to improve warehouse efficiency. According to the order and the picking characteristics of the warehouse stacker, the picker routing of the stacker is regarded as the prize-collecting vehicle routing problem (PCVRP). According to the path and order for stacker picking, we designed a picker routing optimization strategy based on improved multi-objective iterative local search (IMOILS) algorithm. An elite pool strategy was set to save the high-quality solutions in the iterative process, and the nondominated solutions in the iterative evolution were stored and updated. Adding the adaptive enhanced perturbation strategy was beneficial to the current solution to escape from local optimum. In the local search procedure, to limit the excessively large search space, the epsilon constraint was adopted to limit the significant deterioration in another objective direction. The computational results showed that the proposed algorithm is superior to the comparison algorithms in the number of nondominated solutions, the hypervolume, and the spacing metric, and the stability of the algorithm is also good, which not only verifies the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm, but also provides a feasible optimization scheme for the storage stacker's picker routing problem. The second-order coherence and polarization characteristics of partially coherent radially polarized cosh-Gaussian vortex (PCRPChGV) beams in atmospheric turbulence are investigated based on the extended Huygens–Fresnel principle. The analytical propagation formulas of cross-spectral density matrix, average intensity and degree of polarization (DOP) for PCRPChGV beams in turbulence are derived. The influences of initial correlation length, cosh factor and turbulence intensity on average intensity, on-axis intensity and DOP of PCRPChGV beams are examined numerically. Results show that with increasing propagation distance, the PCRPChGV beam evolves from the initially separated double-lobe spot into overlapping double-lobe spot, and Gaussian spot. The corresponding intensities of the two Cartesian components of light field rotate markedly around the beam axis in a unique manner. Initial correlation length and cosh factor have an obvious influence on the position and size of normalized on-axis intensity peak, respectively. Background: Massage is widely used in exercise-induced skeletal muscle damage (EIMD). It has been proven that massage can improve the morphology and function of damaged skeletal muscle in multiple ways. However, whether massage can protect skeletal muscles from injury during long-term heavy-duty exercise has not yet been determined. Methods: In this study, a rat model of overuse injury was established by eccentric running for 4 weeks, and pressing at constant pressure and frequency and massage were used as intervention methods to explore whether massage could protect skeletal muscle from injury through upregulating integrin and the basement membrane laminin. Results: The results showed that compared with the model group, the ultrastructure of skeletal muscle in the massage group was relatively complete and clear, and the maximum isotonic and tetanic contraction forces were significantly increased (P < 0.01). In addition, in the massage group, β1 integrin expression was significantly increased, p-FAK protein expression was decreased, and the co-localization of β1 integrin and the basement membrane laminin 2 was significantly increased (P < 0.01). Conclusion: Our study shows that during long-term heavy-duty exercise, massage can enhance the cell adhesion function mediated by integrin β1 and laminin 2 to protect skeletal muscle from injury and prevent the occurrence of overuse injury. Background: The incidence and mortality of gastric cancer (GC) are high worldwide. Tumor stemness is a major contributor to tumorigenesis and development of GC, in which long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) are deeply involved. The purpose of this study was to investigate the influences and mechanisms of LINC00853 in the progression and stemness of GC. Methods: The level of LINC00853 was assessed based on The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) database and GC cell lines by RT-PCR and in situ hybridization. An evaluation of biological functions of LINC00853 including cell proliferation, migration, and tumor stemness was conducted via gain-and loss-of-function experiments. Furthermore, RNA pull-down and RNA immunoprecipitation (RIP) assay were utilized to validate the connection between LINC00853 and the transcription factor Forkhead Box P3 (FOXP3). Nude mouse xenograft model was used to identify the impacts of LINC00853 on tumor development. Results: We identified the up-regulated levels of lncRNA-LINC00853 in GC, and its overexpression correlates with poor prognosis in GC patients. Further study indicated that LINC00853 promoted cell proliferation, migration and cancer stemness while suppressed cell apoptosis. Mechanistically, LINC00853 directly bind to FOXP3 and promoted FOXP3-mediated transcription of PDZK1 interacting protein 1(PDZK1IP1). Alterations of FOXP3 or PDZK1IP1 reversed the LINC00853-induced biological effects on cell proliferation, migration and stemness. Moreover, xenograft tumor assay was used to investigate the function of LINC00853 in vivo. The lack of suitable indicators of changes in such as sea‐level and circulation has been a major limit to paleoenvironmental and paleoceanographic investigations in continental shelf regions. This paper presents an environmental magnetic study by comparing two late‐Quaternary sediment cores (DH02 and DH03) from the outer shelf of the East China Sea (ECS). Late and early Marine Isotope Stage (MIS) 3 sediments were deposited in a prodelta under cold coastal currents and an open‐shelf with the Taiwan Warm Current and upwelling. The dominant iron‐bearing minerals of the late and early MIS 3 sediments are authigenic greigite (Fe3S4) and pyrite (FeS2), respectively, which were assumed to be formed nearly syndepositionally. The overlying sediments, however, are magnetically dominated by detrital magnetite. This pattern corresponds well to the temporal changes in sea‐level over this period. The widespread occurrence of greigite in the late MIS 3 sediments can also be used for future stratigraphic division and correlation in the ECS. Additionally, compared to microfossil assemblages, rock magnetic parameters based on greigite may be more sensitive to environmental changes on continental shelves. Furthermore, the inter‐borehole spatial comparisons imply not only a sedimentary hiatus/erosion of at least 30‐m thickness in core DH02, most probably during the Last Glacial Maximum, but also that core DH02 was in a more reductive environment than core DH03 during late MIS 3. The findings highlight the potential of authigenic greigite as an indicator of spatiotemporal changes in paleoenvironmental and paleoceanographic conditions on the continental shelf at orbital or even suborbital timescales. Here, two sediment cores meridionally traversing the outer shelf of the East China Sea were investigated. The magnetic mineral assemblage and sedimentary environment exhibited almost identical change patterns, with pyrite, greigite, and magnetite as the major magnetic minerals of the early and late Marine Isotope Stage 3, and Last Glacial Maximum/last deglacial deposits, respectively. This agreeably reflects the temporal fluctuations in sea‐level and ocean circulation. By comparing the two cores, the spatial characteristics of stratigraphy and redox conditions could be determined clearly. Animal behaviour regulation is a complex process involving many factors, and the nervous system is an essential factor in this process. In many species, pathogens can alter host behaviour by affecting the host's nervous system. An interesting example is that the silkworm shows enhanced locomotor behaviour after being infected with the nucleopolyhedrosis virus. In this study, we analysed the transcriptome of the silkworm brain at different time points after infection and found that various genes related to behaviour regulation changed after infection. In‐depth analysis showed that the tyrosine hydroxylase gene might be a key candidate gene, and the content of dopamine, its downstream metabolite, increased significantly in the brain of silkworms infected with the virus. After the injection of tyrosine hydroxylase inhibitor into the infected silkworm, the dopamine content in the silkworm brain decreased and the locomotor behaviour caused by the virus was blocked successfully. These results confirm that tyrosine hydroxylase is involved in regulating enhanced locomotor behaviour after virus infection in silkworms. Furthermore, the tyrosine hydroxylase gene was specifically overexpressed in the brain of the silkworm, and the transgenic silkworm was enhanced in locomotor behaviour and foraging behaviour. This paper is concerned with the input delay compensation problem for neutral-type systems with both state and input delays. Single/various cascaded-observers based output feedback controllers are designed to predict the future states such that the input delay that can be arbitrarily large yet exactly known is compensated completely. Compared with the existing techniques, some more simple necessary and sufficient conditions guaranteeing the stability of the closed-loop systems are offered in terms of the stability of retarded-type time-delay systems referred to as observer-error systems. The functional behaviors and service performances of aeronautic gears are significantly determined by its surface integrity. Vibratory polishing, as one of the most promising ultra-high-precision finishing approaches for free-form surfaces, shows strong capability to improve the surface integrity of aeronautic gears. In order to gain a scientific insight into the surface generation, a three-dimensional predictive model is proposed in this study for the vibratory polishing surfaces of aeronautic gear considering the initial workpiece topography. The single abrasive particle is regarded as a micro-tool and the removed material is quantitatively determined based on the calculation of Brinell hardness. Then, the predictive model of the surface micro-topography can be developed on the basis of the initial workpiece topography and the interaction between workpiece and abrasive particles. The vibratory polishing tests are further carried out to verify the validity of the proposed surface topography prediction model. The results indicate that the predicted three-dimensional surface roughness agrees well with that of the measured data with an average error of 6.35%. Finally, parametric analysis is conducted to investigate the influence of polishing time, surface hardness, and abrasive particle diameter on the surface parameters. The preliminary work presented in this study is not only helpful to lay a scientific foundation for the more in-depth understanding of the surface generation and material removal mechanism in vibratory polishing, but also meaningful to provide an engineering guidance for the prediction of surface quality and optimization of machining parameters. Objective: To systematically evaluate several factors of persistent human papillomavirus (HPV) infection following conization in patients with cervical intraepithelial neoplasia (CIN). Methods: PubMed, EMBASE and the Cochrane Library were searched from January 1, 1998 to September 10, 2021. Random-effects models for meta-analyses were used and pooled relative risks with 95% confidence intervals were reported. Literature screening, data extraction, and assessment of the risk of bias in the included studies were conducted independently by two researchers. Data analysis was performed with Stata software, version 12.0. Results: A total of 28 studies were included in this study. Meta-analysis revealed that surgical margin and residual disease were positively correlated with persistent HPV infection after conization. Compared with patients infected with other types of HPV, CIN patients with HPV 16 had a higher persistent infection rate (OR = 1.967, 95% CI (1.232–3.140), P < 0.05). Conclusions: CIN patients who are postmenopausal, have positive surgical margins and residual lesions, and are positive for HPV 16 are prone to persistent HPV infection after conization. Lithium-ion battery cathode slurries have a microstructure that depends sensitively on how they are processed due to carbon black's (CB) evolving structure when subjected coating flows. While polyvinylidene difluoride (PVDF), one of the main components of the cathode slurry, plays an important role in modifying the structure and rheology of CB, a quantitative understanding is lacking. In this work, we explore the role of PVDF in determining the structural evolution of Super C65 CB in N-methyl-2-pyrrolidinone (NMP) with rheo-electric measurements. We find that PVDF enhances the viscosity of NMP resulting in a more extensive structural erosion of CB agglomerates with increasing polymer concentration and molecular weight. We also show that the relative viscosity of all suspensions can be collapsed by the fluid Mason number (M n f) , which compares the hydrodynamic forces imposed by the medium to cohesive forces holding CB agglomerates together. Using simultaneous rheo-electric measurements, we find at high M n f , the dielectric strength (Δ ε) scales with M n f , and the power-law scaling can be quantitatively predicted by considering the self-similar break up of CB agglomerates. The collapse of the relative viscosity and scaling of Δ ε both suggest that PVDF increases the hydrodynamic force of the suspending medium without directly changing the CB agglomerate structure. These findings are valuable for optimizing the rheology of lithium ion battery cathode slurries. Gastrointestinal cancer (GIC), including gastric cancer and colorectal cancer, is a common malignant tumor originating from gastrointestinal epithelial cells. Although the pathogenesis of GIC remains unclear, aberrant lipid metabolism has emerged as a hallmark of cancer. Several enzymes, proteins, and transcription factors are involved in lipid metabolism reprogramming in GIC, and their abnormal expression can promote lipid synthesis and accumulation of lipid droplets through numerous mechanisms, thereby affecting the growth, proliferation, and metastasis of GIC cells. Studies show that some natural compounds, including flavonoids, alkaloids, and saponins, can inhibit the de novo synthesis of lipids in GIC, reduce the level of lipid accumulation, and subsequently, inhibit the occurrence and development of GIC by regulating Sterol regulatory element‐binding protein 1 (SREBP‐1), adenosine monophosphate‐activated protein kinase (AMPK), 3‐hydroxy‐3‐methylglutaryl‐coenzyme A reductase (HMGCR), phosphatidylinositol‐3‐kinase/Akt and the mammalian target of rapamycin PI3K/Akt/mTOR, amongst other targets and pathways. Therefore, targeting tumor lipid metabolism is the focus of anti‐gastrointestinal tumor therapy. Although most natural products require further high‐quality studies to firmly establish their clinical efficacy, we review the potential of natural products in the treatment of GIC and summarize the application prospect of lipid metabolism as a new target for the treatment of GIC, hoping to provide a reference for drug development for gastrointestinal tumors. The development of sustainable cementitious materials is essential and urgent for the construction industry. Benefiting from excellent engineering properties and a reduced greenhouse gas footprint, alkali-activated materials (AAM) are among the robust alternatives to Portland cement for civil infrastructure. Meanwhile, concrete production also accounts for around 20% of all industrial water consumption, and the global freshwater shortage is increasing. This review discusses recent investigations on seawater-mixed AAMs, including the effects of seawater on workability, reaction mechanism, shrinkage, short and long-term strength, binding of chloride and corrosion of steel reinforcement. Attention is also paid to the utilization of sea sand as aggregate, as well as discussions on the challenges and further research perspectives on the field application of AAMs with seawater and sea sand. Phosphogypsum and red mud are bulk industrial solid wastes that trigger local environmental problems. In the present investigation, an efficient valorization process was developed through which phosphogypsum and red mud can be transformed into a precursor for the synthesis of high-strength, alkali-activated materials with a seawater-bearing sodium silicate solution as the alkaline activator. The effects of the activator modulus and liquid-to-solid ratio on the strength evolution of the synthesized AAMs as well as the microstructure and chemistry of the reaction products were investigated. The results showed that mineral reconstruction between PG and RM took place during calcination at 950 °C, forming ye'elimite, anhydrite and gehlenite, which then took part in the alkali-activation process and generated thenardite and C-A-S-H gel. The mechanical properties of the synthesized AAMs, ranging from 12.9 MPa to 40.6 MPa, were determined with the activator modulus and liquid-to-solid ratio. The Mesozoic subduction history of the Paleo‐Pacific plate below the East Asian margin remains contentious, in part because the southern part is poorly understood. To address this, we conducted a sediment provenance study to constrain Mesozoic subduction history below West Sarawak, Borneo. A combination of detrital zircon U‐Pb geochronology, heavy minerals, trace element, and bulk rock Nd isotope data were used to identify the tectonic events. The overall maturity of mineral assemblages, dominantly felsic sources, abundant Precambrian‐aged zircons, and low εNd(0) values (average −13.07) seen in Late Triassic sedimentary rocks suggest a period of inactive subduction near Borneo. Slab shallowing subduction occurred between 200 and 170 Ma based on subdued magmatism and tectonic compression across West Sarawak. From c. 170 to 70 Ma there was widespread magmatism and we interpret the Paleo‐Pacific slab steepened. Collectively, we show the Paleo‐Pacific plate subduction had variable slab dip histories in Borneo. To meet the requirements of trellis grape crop root irrigation, spraying pesticides on branches and leaves, an integrated sprinkler was designed, which relies on the flow pressure to change the irrigation water and spray pesticide working modes. The structural parameters that affect the hydraulic performance were selected based on the working principle of the sprinkler. The key parameters for the irrigation mode included diversion hole inclination angle, refractive cone angle, refractive cone length, and cone hole distance. The key parameters for the spray pesticide mode included diversion chute width, the number of diversion chutes, the diversion chute inclination angle, the rotary acceleration chamber height, and the nozzle outlet cylindrical section length. The central composite design response surface tests of the water–pesticide integrated sprinkler were carried out; the analysis of variance and regression analysis were selected; the main influence rules and interactions of key structural parameters on irrigation performance and pesticide spraying performance of sprinkler irrigation system were obtained. The optimal parameters of the water–pesticide integrated sprinkler were: the diversion hole inclination angle is 20.8°, the refractive cone angle is 123.7°, the refractive cone length is 8.8 mm, the cone hole distance is 3.6 mm, the diversion chute width is 2.5 mm, the number of diversion chutes is 2, the diversion chute inclination angle is 10°, the rotary acceleration chamber height is 1.3 mm, and the nozzle outlet cylindrical section length is 0.7 mm. The irrigation hydraulic performance of the wetted radius is 3.4 m, the average irrigation application rate is 0.65 mm/h, and the uniformity coefficient is 88%. Metal ions are involved in the conformational transition of silk fibroin and influence the structure and mechanical properties of silk fibers. However, the dynamic characteristics of metal ions during the formation of silk fibers remain unclear. In this study, we found that the silk glands of silkworms contain various metal elements, with varying levels of the metal elements in different zones of the glands and higher levels in the anterior silk glands. Additionally, the content of various metallic elements in the silk glands varied greatly before and after spinning, similar to their content in different cocoon layers, thus, indicating that the anterior silk glands maintain a certain metal ion environment for the transport and conformational transformation of the silk proteins. Most of the metallic elements located in fibroin were confirmed using degumming experiments. For the first time, a scanning electron microscope energy spectrometry system was used to characterize the metal elements in the cross-section of silk and cocoons. These findings have deepened our understanding of the relationship between the overall metal ion environment and silk fiber formation and help us further conceptualize the utilization of metal ions as targets to improve the mechanical properties of the silk fibers. Summary: Herbivore‐induced plant volatiles (HIPVs) are known to be perceived by neighboring plants, resulting in induction or priming of chemical defenses. There is little information on the defense responses that are triggered by these plant–plant interactions, and the phenomenon has rarely been studied in rice.Using chemical and molecular analyses in combination with insect behavioral and performance experiments, we studied how volatiles emitted by rice plants infested by the striped stemborer (SSB) Chilo suppressalis affect defenses against this pest in conspecific plants.Compared with rice plants exposed to the volatiles from uninfested plants, plants exposed to SSB‐induced volatiles showed enhanced direct and indirect resistance to SSB. When subjected to caterpillar damage, the HIPV‐exposed plants showed increased expression of jasmonic acid (JA) signaling genes, resulting in JA accumulation and higher levels of defensive proteinase inhibitors. Moreover, plants exposed to SSB‐induced volatiles emitted larger amounts of inducible volatiles and were more attractive to the parasitoid Cotesia chilonis.By unraveling the factors involved in HIPV‐mediated defense priming in rice, we reveal a key defensive role for proteinase inhibitors.
