Synthesis of poison dart frog indolizidine alkaloids (−)‐209D, (−)‐209B and (−)‐223V were accomplished, with a common tricyclic lactone skeleton as the starting compound, in overall yields of 8.8 %, 5.5 %, and 5.2 %, respectively. The construction of the C7−C8 bond in the synthesis of 209D involves simple ring closure metathesis and hydrogenation reactions. However, in the synthesis of 209B and 223V, the C7−C8 bond and the stereochemistry of C8, is achieved through radical cyclization reactions controlled by allylic 1,3‐strain. Cleavage of the excess carbon on the C5 for all the related intermediates were done by Barton decarboxylation protocol. Reduction of the corresponding indolizidin‐3‐ones by LAH completed the total synthesis of these three target molecules. The quantum mechanics calculations were performed on α‐amidyl carbon radical intermediates to account for the observed diastereomeric ratio (~9 : 1) of the key Barton decarboxylation step. Ultimately, the synthesis of 3‐epi‐(−)‐223AB was accomplished in 51.6 % through the cuprate addition to the activated lactam of a late intermediate in the synthesis of (−)‐167B. Diabetic vascular disease is a major complication of diabetes mellitus (DM). Chemokine C-C motif ligand 7 (CCL7) attracts macrophages and monocytes, amplifying inflammatory processes in the vasculature. We hypothesized a causal role for CCL7 in diabetic vasculopathy. CCL7 concentrations were higher in the plasma of patients with type 2 DM, as well as in supernatants from their endothelial progenitor cells (EPCs). High-glucose stimulation increased the secretion of CCL7 from human dermal microvascular endothelial cells (HDMECs) through the c-Fos and c-Jun signaling pathways. CCL7 inhibition using knockdown or neutralization antibody treatment reversed the high glucose–induced impaired tube formation and migration abilities of EPCs, human aortic endothelial cells, human coronary artery endothelial cells, and HDMECs. Administration of recombinant human CCL7 protein impaired tube formation and migration abilities by down-regulating the AKT–endothelial nitric oxide synthase and AKT/nuclear factor erythroid 2–related factor 2/heme oxygenase–1/vascular endothelial growth factor/stromal cell–derived factor–1 pathways and by up-regulating ERK/phosphorylated p65/interleukin-1β/interleukin-6/tumor necrosis factor–α pathways through CC chemokine receptor 3 in endothelial cells. Ccl7 knockout in streptozotocin-treated mice showed improved neovasculogenesis in ischemic limbs and accelerated wound repair, with increased circulating EPCs and capillary density. CCL7 antibody treatment in db/db mice and high-fat diet–induced hyperglycemia mice showed improved neovasculogenesis in ischemic limbs and wound areas, accompanied by up-regulation of angiogenic proteins and down-regulation of inflammatory proteins. Endothelial cell–specific Ccl7-knockout mice showed ameliorated diabetic vasculopathy in streptozotocin-induced DM. This study highlights the potential of CCL7 as a therapeutic target for diabetic vasculopathy. Editor's summary: Diabetes can result in harmful vascular complications. In mouse models of diabetes including streptozotocin treatment, leptin receptor mutation, or high-fat diet feeding, CCL7 neutralization antibody treatment or genetic knockout improved blood flow recovery after experimental limb ischemia. Ginsenoside F2 is a protopanaxadiol saponin compound with various biological activities, including antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and anticancer properties. Ginsenoside F2 can be found in ginseng, but in low quantities. Therefore, ginsenoside F2 production predominantly relies on the biotransformation of various ginsenosides, such as ginsenosides Rb1 and Rd. In this study, we reported the production of ginsenoside F2 by gypenoside biotransformation with Aspergillus niger JGL8, isolated from Gynostemma pentaphyllum. Ginsenoside F2 could be produced by two different biotransformation pathways, namely Gyp-V–Rd–F2 and Gyp-XVII–F2. The product exhibited antioxidant activity against free radicals (DPPH) with IC50 value of 29.54 µg/mL. Optimal biotransformation conditions were a pH of 5.0, temperature of 40 °C, and 2 mg/mL of substrate. Enzyme kinetic parameters revealed that the hydrolysis rate of Gyp-V, Rd, and Gyp-XVII was 0.625, 0.588, and 0.417 mM/h, respectively. Atmospheric vapor pressure deficit (VPD) increases with climate warming and may limit plant growth. However, gross primary production (GPP) responses to VPD remain a mystery, offering a significant source of uncertainty in the estimation of global terrestrial ecosystems carbon dynamics. In this study, in-situ measurements, satellite-derived data, and Earth System Models (ESMs) simulations were analysed to show that the GPP of most ecosystems has a similar threshold in response to VPD: first increasing and then declining. When VPD exceeds these thresholds, atmospheric drought stress reduces soil moisture and stomatal conductance, thereby decreasing the productivity of terrestrial ecosystems. Current ESMs underscore CO2 fertilization effects but predict significant GPP decline in low-latitude ecosystems when VPD exceeds the thresholds. These results emphasize the impacts of climate warming on VPD and propose limitations to future ecosystems productivity caused by increased atmospheric water demand. Incorporating VPD, soil moisture, and canopy conductance interactions into ESMs enhances the prediction of terrestrial ecosystem responses to climate change. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Among primary liver cancers, hepatocellular carcinoma is the most common pathological type. Its onset is insidious, and most patients have no obvious discomfort in the early stage, so it is found late, and the opportunity for surgical radical treatment is lost, resulting in a poor prognosis. With the introduction of molecular-targeted drugs represented by sorafenib, patients with middle- and late-stage liver cancer have regained the light of day. However, their therapeutic efficacy is relatively low due to the limited target of drug action, toxic side effects, and other reasons. At this time, the emergence of immunotherapy represented by immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) well breaks this embarrassing situation, which mainly achieves the anti-tumor purpose by improving the tumor immune microenvironment. Currently, ICI monotherapy, as well as combination therapy, has been widely used in the clinic, further prolonging the survival of patients with advanced hepatocellular carcinoma. Background: As a currently incurable but preventable disease, the prevention and early diagnosis of Alzheimer's disease (AD) has long been a research hotspot. Amyloid deposition has been shown to be a major pathological feature of AD. Notably, not all the people with amyloid-beta (Aβ) pathology will have significant cognitive declines and eventually develop AD. Therefore, the aim of this study was to explore the risk factors for cognitive decline in Aβ-positive participants. Methods: We included 650 non-demented participants who were Aβ-positive at baseline from the Alzheimer's Disease Neuroimaging Initiative (ADNI) database. Mixed effects and COX regression models were applied to assess 37 potential risk factors. Mixed effects models were employed to assess the temporal associations between potential risk factors and four cognitive assessment scales. COX regression models were used to assess the impact of potential risk factors on cognitive diagnosis conversion. Univariate and multivariate analyses were applied to the above models. Additionally, we used the Cochran-Armitage trend test to examine whether the incidence of cognitive decline increased with the number concurrent of risk factors. Results: Six factors (low diastolic pressure, low body mass index, retired status, a history of drug abuse, Parkinsonism, and depression) were the identified risk factors and four factors (a history of urinary disease, musculoskeletal diseases, no major surgical history, and no prior dermatologic-connective tissue diseases) were found to be suggestive risk factors. The incidence of cognitive decline in the Aβ-positive participants gradually increased as the number of concurrent risk factors increased (p for trend = 0.0005). Conclusions: Our study may facilitate the understanding of the potential pathological processes in AD and provide novel targets for the prevention of cognitive decline among participants with Aβ positivity. Objective: This study investigated the relationships between job pressure, occupational burnout, organizational support and coping strategies among competitive sports coaches in Sichuan Province, China. It also assesses the impact of job pressure on occupational burnout and the mediating roles of organizational support and coping strategies. Methods: A survey was conducted with 207 competitive sports coaches from Sichuan Province, China. Basic information and data on job pressure, occupational burnout, organizational support and coping strategies were collected. Correlations between variables were analyzed, and a theoretical model for hypothesizing the mediating effects was established. A multiple regression model was used to predict the relationships between occupational burnout and job pressure, organizational support and coping strategies. Results: (1) Job pressure was significantly positively correlated with occupational burnout (R = 0.436, p < 0.001) and negative coping (R = 0.389, p < 0.001) but significantly negatively correlated with organizational support (R = -0.503, p < 0.001). Occupational burnout was significantly negatively correlated with academic title (R = -0.158, p = 0.023) and organizational support (R = -0.349, p < 0.001) but significantly positively correlated with negative coping (R = 0.440, p < 0.001). Organisational support was significantly positively correlated with positive coping (R = 0.222, p = 0.001) but significantly negatively correlated with negative coping (R = -0.207, p = 0.003). (2) Mediating effects: Job pressure indirectly affects occupational burnout via organizational support and negative coping strategies. (3) Multiple regression: Y1 (Job Pressure) = 69.262 + 1.172 × Emotional Exhaustion -2.231 × Emotional Support +1.041 × Negative Coping -6.554 × Academic Title (from high to low). Conclusion: Job pressure is a significant factor leading to occupational burnout among competitive sports coaches in Sichuan Province, China, and factors such as role, interpersonal relationships and career development are closely related to occupational burnout. The sense of organizational support and negative coping strategies play a mediating role between job pressure and occupational burnout. Reducing emotional exhaustion and negative coping, enhancing emotional support and improving the academic titles of coaches can help to reduce job pressure and occupational burnout among competitive sports coaches in Sichuan Province. Exploring highly active and low-cost non-precious electrocatalysts for the oxygen evolution reaction (OER) is a pressing challenge for the development of sustainable hydrogen energy technologies. Herein, we develop a facile hydrothermal-assisted corrosion treatment approach to transform readily available low-cost 316L-type commercial stainless steel (316L-SS) into a cost-effective self-supporting electrocatalyst for the OER. The prepared electrode could achieve an outstanding catalytic activity and stability with an overpotential of 282 mV at a current density of 10 mA cm−2 for the OER. The experimental and theoretical results show that a facile surface modification carried out with 316L-SS, based on a corrosion mechanism, to corrosion-induced formation of nickel-iron hydroxides and their transformation into nickel-iron (oxy)(hydro)oxides would account for this superior performance. This work not only provides great promise for a cost-effective, mass-production method to produce cheap, stable, and efficient electrocatalysts for the OER, but also perhaps more importantly bridges traditional metal corrosion engineering and modern electrochemical energy technologies, which would offer new ideas for further electrocatalytic materials design and development. This study identifies two distinct patterns of the summer Indian Ocean dipole (IOD)—the coastal IOD and the offshore IOD—named based on the proximity of their eastern pole to Sumatra. Their spatial characteristics, evolutionary mechanisms, relationships with ENSO, impacts on precipitation, and the factors controlling the simulation performances of climate models are discussed. The coastal IOD has the same eastern pole as the conventional IOD, which is located off the coast of Sumatra, but its western pole is situated in the central region of the tropical Indian Ocean (TIO). In contrast, the offshore IOD shares the same western pole as the conventional IOD, which is located off the coast of Somalia, whereas its eastern pole is positioned in the central TIO. Regarding their evolutions, while they initially develop similarly, their later evolutions differ due to their distinct pole locations: The offshore IOD peaks in summer, while the coastal IOD can be sustained into autumn. The coastal IOD correlates to preceding and late ENSO states, but the offshore IOD does not, making it an independent internal mode of TIO. The two IODs affect climate differently, with only the coastal IOD affecting Australian rainfall. Climate models exhibit varied levels of performance in simulating the two IODs. Specifically, a stronger link between spring TIO rainfall and ENSO, as well as stronger southeasterly monsoon winds in the southern TIO, can enhance the coastal IOD modeling, while a stronger summer Somali jet benefits the simulation of the offshore IOD. Distinguishing these two IODs has implications for accurate diagnosis and prediction of the summer climate surrounding the TIO. Significance Statement: The Indian Ocean dipole (IOD) significantly influences the monsoon climate. Previous studies use a unified IOD index based on all-season sea surface temperature (SST) data of tropical Indian Ocean (TIO), resulting in a representation biased toward the autumn peak season. However, understanding SST patterns during summer is crucial for Asian summer monsoon precipitation, and what are the characteristic patterns of summer IOD remains unclear. This study fundamentally advances the understanding of the IOD's seasonal diversity by identifying two distinct dipole patterns in the summer TIO. These patterns differ from the conventional IOD in terms of spatial characteristics, evolutions, ENSO relationships, and precipitation impacts. Here in, we reported a ligand‐free chromium(III)‐catalyzed manganese reductive cross‐coupling of unactivated alkyl electrophiles, such as alkyl sulfonates and alkyl chlorides, with trisulfide dioxides as thiolation agents to form carbon−sulfur bonds. Background: Microglial activation has been suggested to be involved in the pathogenesis of depression and Alzheimer's disease (AD). Soluble triggering receptor expressed on myeloid cells 2 (sTREM2) is a marker of microglial activation. The purpose of this study was to investigate the interrelationships of cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) sTREM2, AD pathology, as well as minimal depressive symptoms (MDSs), and cognition. Methods: A total of 545 non-demented individuals from the Alzheimer's Disease Neuroimaging Initiative cohort were included in our study. The average age of the total population was 72.6 years and the percentage of females was 42.6%. Linear regression models were conducted to investigate the linear relationships of MDSs with CSF sTREM2, AD pathology, cognition, and brain structure. Mediation models and structural equation models (SEM) were conducted to examine whether CSF sTREM2 mediated the relationships of MDSs with AD pathology and cognition. Results: Results revealed that individuals with MDSs had lower CSF sTREM2 levels than normal controls. Linear regression showed that MDSs were linearly associated with CSF sTREM2 (PFDR = 0.012) and amyloid biomarkers (PFDR < 0.05), as well as cognitive scores (PFDR < 0.05) and hippocampal volume (PFDR = 0.003). Mediation analyses revealed that CSF sTREM2 mediated the association between MDSs and amyloid pathology, with the mediating proportions ranging from 6.030 to 18.894%. However, SEM failed to reveal that MDS affected cognition through CSF amyloid pathology and CSF sTREM2. Conclusions: MDSs are associated with amyloid pathology and cognition. Aging is a natural process associated with chronic inflammation in the development of vascular dysfunction. We hypothesized that chemokine C-C motif ligands 4 (CCL4) might play a vital role in aging-related vascular dysfunction. Circulating CCL4 was up-regulated in elderly subjects and in aged animals. CCL4 inhibition reduced generation of reactive oxygen species (ROS), attenuated inflammation, and restored cell functions in endothelial progenitor cells from elderly subjects and in aged human aortic endothelial cells. CCL4 promoted cell aging, with impaired cell functioning, by activating ROS production and inflammation. CCL4 knockout mice and therapeutic administration of anti-CCL4 neutralizing antibodies exhibited vascular and dermal anti-aging effects, with improved wound healing, via the down-regulation of inflammatory proteins and the activation of angiogenic proteins. Altogether, our findings suggested that CCL4 may contribute to aging-related vascular dysfunction via activating oxidative stress and endothelial inflammation. Simple Summary: Tree climbing is an extremely rare behavior among ungulates and has rarely been reported in forest-dwelling ungulates. We collected 15 tree-climbing records of Formosan serows, mainly from social media platforms. They climbed trees to forage throughout the year in many locations in Taiwan. This is the first report of tree-climbing behavior in the Formosan serow, which is typically a forest dweller. Ungulates are terrestrial herbivores, basically adapted to running fast on the ground; tree-climbing behavior has been reported only in seven species, and five of them live in open habitats (Capra hircus, C. aegagrus, C. falconeri, C. cylindricornis, Oreotragus oreotragus). Tree-climbing behavior may also be evolved in ungulates inhabiting dense forests with abundant trees; however, this has rarely been reported in such species (Moschus leucogaster, M. moschiferus), probably due to the difficulty of observing in the wild. The numerous publicly available records in social networks hold potentially valuable information on the atypical behaviors of wild ungulates. Here, we explored the tree-climbing behavior of a forest-dwelling ungulate, the Formosan serow in Taiwan, a subtropical island, by extracting information from online social media platforms. We researched images and videos of Formosan serows through Facebook and YouTube and collected a total of 15 tree-climbing events. In these materials, Formosan serows climbed 10 tree species, including evergreen coniferous and broad-leaved trees, and a variety of parts, ranging in height from 0.6 to 4 m, and from branches of shrubs to trunks of tall trees. Tree-climbing behavior was recorded throughout Taiwan and from lowlands to subalpine zones, suggesting that tree climbing may be a common behavior in this species. Foraging while climbing trees was frequently observed (53.3%), suggesting that the purpose or benefit for climbing is to obtain additional food other than plants growing near the ground surface. In contrast to other tree-climbing ungulates, Formosan serows climbed trees not only in winter, but also in other seasons, when food is relatively abundant. In the present work, iron–sillenite (Bi25FeO40) was synthesized using a simple solid-state reaction method and characterized. The effects of the synthesis conditions on the phase purity of Bi2O3/Fe3O4, morphological features, and possible application as an XRD/MRI dual-contrast agent were investigated. For the synthesis, the stoichiometric amounts of Bi2O3 and Fe3O4 were mixed and subsequently milled in a planetary ball mill for 10 min with a speed of 300 rpm. The milled mixture was calcined at various temperatures (550 ° C, 700 ° C, 750 ° C, 800 ° C, and 850 ° C) for 1 h in air at a heating rate of 5 °C/min. For phase identification, powder X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis was performed and infrared (FTIR) spectra were recorded. The surface morphology of synthesized samples was studied by field-emission scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM). For the radiopacity measurements, iron–sillenite specimens were synthesized at different temperatures and mixed with different amounts of BaSO4 and Laponite solution. It was demonstrated that iron–sillenite Bi25FeO40 possessed sufficient radiopacity and could be a potential candidate to meet the requirements of its application as an XRD/MRI dual-contrast agent. Deepfake has become an emerging technology affecting cyber-security with its illegal applications in recent years. Most deepfake detectors utilize CNN-based models such as the Xception Network to distinguish real or fake media; however, their performance on cross-datasets is not ideal because they suffer from over-fitting in the current stage. Therefore, this paper proposed a spatial consistency learning method to relieve this issue in three aspects. Firstly, we increased the selections of data augmentation methods to 5, which is more than our previous study's data augmentation methods. Specifically, we captured several equal video frames of one video and randomly selected five different data augmentations to obtain different data views to enrich the input variety. Secondly, we chose Swin Transformer as the feature extractor instead of a CNN-based backbone, which means that our approach did not utilize it for downstream tasks, and could encode these data using an end-to-end Swin Transformer, aiming to learn the correlation between different image patches. Finally, this was combined with consistency learning in our study, and consistency learning was able to determine more data relationships than supervised classification. We explored the consistency of video frames' features by calculating their cosine distance and applied traditional cross-entropy loss to regulate this classification loss. Extensive in-dataset and cross-dataset experiments demonstrated that Swin-Fake could produce relatively good results on some open-source deepfake datasets, including FaceForensics++, DFDC, Celeb-DF and FaceShifter. Background: The associations of vegetarian diets with risks for site-specific cancers have not been estimated reliably due to the low number of vegetarians in previous studies. Therefore, the Cancer Risk in Vegetarians Consortium was established. The aim is to describe and compare the baseline characteristics between non-vegetarian and vegetarian diet groups and between the collaborating studies. Methods: We harmonised individual-level data from 11 prospective cohort studies from Western Europe, North America, South Asia and East Asia. Comparisons of food intakes, sociodemographic and lifestyle factors were made between diet groups and between cohorts using descriptive statistics. Results: 2.3 million participants were included; 66% women and 34% men, with mean ages at recruitment of 57 (SD: 7.8) and 57 (8.6) years, respectively. There were 2.1 million meat eaters, 60,903 poultry eaters, 44,780 pescatarians, 81,165 vegetarians, and 14,167 vegans. Food intake differences between the diet groups varied across the cohorts; for example, fruit and vegetable intakes were generally higher in vegetarians than in meat eaters in all the cohorts except in China. BMI was generally lower in vegetarians, particularly vegans, except for the cohorts in India and China. In general, but with some exceptions, vegetarians were also more likely to be highly educated and physically active and less likely to smoke. In the available resurveys, stability of diet groups was high in all the cohorts except in China. Conclusions: Food intakes and lifestyle factors of both non-vegetarians and vegetarians varied markedly across the individual cohorts, which may be due to differences in both culture and socioeconomic status, as well as differences in questionnaire design. Hydrogels, composed of three-dimensional polymer networks, are excellent delivery carriers and have been extensively employed in the biomedical field. Inflammation acts as a protective mechanism to prevent harmful substances from entering living organisms, but chronic, long-lasting inflammation can cause oxidative stress, which damages tissue and organs and adversely affects patients' quality of life. The aberrant expression of microRNAs (miRNAs) has been found to play a significant part in the etiology and progression of inflammatory diseases, as suggested by growing evidence. Numerous hydrogels that can act as gene carriers for the intracellular delivery of miRNA have been described during ongoing research into innovative hydrogel materials. MiRNA hydrogel delivery systems, which are loaded with exogenous miRNA inhibitors or mimics, enable targeted miRNA intervention in inflammatory diseases and effectively prevent environmental stressors from degrading or inactivating miRNA. In this review, we summarize the classification of miRNA hydrogel delivery systems, the basic strategies and mechanisms for loading miRNAs into hydrogels, highlight the biomedical applications of miRNA hydrogel delivery systems in inflammatory diseases, and share our viewpoints on potential opportunities and challenges in the promising region of miRNA delivery systems. Background: Sheehan's syndrome is a rare condition, which is classically characterized by anterior pituitary hypofunction following postpartum shock or hemorrhage. While diabetes insipidus (DI) is not commonly associated with Sheehan's syndrome, we present a rare case of a multiparous female developing rapid-onset panhypopituitarism and DI following severe postpartum hemorrhage. Case presentation: A previously healthy 39-year-old woman, gravida 5, para 4, presented with hypovolemic shock after vaginal delivery, attributed to severe postpartum hemorrhage, necessitating emergent hysterectomy. Although her shock episodes resolved during hospitalization, she developed intermittent fever, later diagnosed as adrenal insufficiency. Administration of hydrocortisone effectively resolved the fever. However, she subsequently developed diabetes insipidus. Diagnosis of Sheehan's syndrome with central diabetes insipidus was confirmed through functional hormonal tests and MRI findings. Treatment consisted of hormone replacement therapy, with persistent panhypopituitarism noted during a ten-year follow-up period. Conclusions: Sheehan's syndrome is a rare complication of postpartum hemorrhage. Central diabetes insipidus should be suspected, although not commonly, while the patient presented polyuria and polydipsia. The annual range (AR) of precipitation in the Amazon River basin has increased steadily since 1979. This increase may have resulted from natural variability and/or anthropogenic forcing, such as local land-use changes and global warming, which has yet to be explored. In this study, climate model experiments using the Community Earth System Model, version 2 (CESM2), were conducted to examine the relative contributions of sea surface temperatures (SSTs) variability and anthropogenic forcings to the AR changes in the Amazon rainfall. With CESM2, we design several factorial simulations, instead of actual model projection. We found that the North Atlantic SSTs fluctuation dominantly decreases the precipitation AR trend over the Amazon by −85%. In contrast, other factors, including deforestation and carbon dioxide, contributed to the trend changes, ranging from 25% to 35%. The dynamic component, specifically the tendency of vertical motion, made negative contributions, along with the vertical profiles of moist static energy (MSE) tendency. Seasonal-dependent changes in atmospheric stability could be associated with variations in precipitation. It is concluded that surface ocean warming associated with the North Atlantic natural variability and global warming is the key factor in the increased precipitation AR over the Amazon from 1979 to 2014. The continuous local land-use changes may potentially influence the precipitation AR in the future. Significance Statement: The annual range (AR) in precipitation, the difference between wet- and dry-season precipitation, has increased from 1979 to 2014 in the Amazon. This increase may have resulted from global warming, deforestation, and sea surface temperature variability in North Atlantic and Pacific. To explore the role of each of these factors in altering the Amazon precipitation AR, five experiments were designed in the climate model (CESM). Among these experiment results, the effect of North Atlantic SSTs was the strongest. In the future, deforestation, global warming, and different ocean temperature states in the North Atlantic and Pacific may become increasingly influential on the changes in precipitation. BACKGROUND: Amino acids (AAs) are the building blocks of proteins, but they also serve as biological compounds in biochemical processes, and d‐AA isomers are increasingly being recognized as important signaling molecules. As the main organic substrate used by cells in the intestinal tract, the role of the chiral specificity of glutamine is still largely ignored. RESULTS: In a previous study, we found that d‐glutamine affected the quorum sensing of Lactiplantibacillus plantarum A3, promoted the release of signaling molecule AI‐2 and up‐regulated the expression of the LuxS gene. The results showed that when d‐glutamine and L. plantarum A3 were simultaneously applied to a mouse model, the diversity and abundance of intestinal flora in both male and female mice were increased. Interestingly, the simultaneous effect of d‐glutamine and L. plantarum A3 on the bacterial diversity and abundance of male mice was significantly higher than that of female mice. In addition, the combination of d‐glutamine and L. plantarum A3 can improve the host microecology by enhancing the population of Firmicutes such as Lactobacillus and Lachnospiraceae, reducing the population of Fusobacterium and Bacteroides and affecting metabolic pathways such as AA metabolism and transporter transport. CONCLUSION: d‐Glutamine, as a signaling molecule, can better stimulate the endogenous d‐glutamine synthesis in mice and be utilized by L. plantarum A3. Furthermore, sex differences in the changes of intestinal microflora are also found in this research. Featured Application: The proposed system can automatically generate conference/meeting minutes with labeled speakers and produce keyword spotting. So, the proposed system reduces the heavy task of recording the meeting minutes and improves concentration during meetings. Producing conference/meeting minutes requires a person to simultaneously identify a speaker and the speaking content during the course of the meeting. This recording process is a heavy task. Reducing the workload for meeting minutes is an essential task for most people. In addition, providing conference/meeting highlights in real time is helpful to the meeting process. In this study, we aim to implement an automatic meeting minutes generation system (AMMGS) for recording conference/meeting minutes. A speech recognizer transforms speech signals to obtain the conference/meeting text. Accordingly, the proposed AMMGS can reduce the effort in recording the minutes. All meeting members can concentrate on the meeting; taking minutes is unnecessary. The AMMGS includes speaker identification for Mandarin Chinese speakers, keyword spotting, and speech recognition. Transferring learning on YAMNet lets the network identify specified speakers. So, the proposed AMMGS can automatically generate conference/meeting minutes with labeled speakers. Furthermore, the AMMGS applies the Jieba segmentation tool for keyword spotting. The system detects the frequency of words' occurrence. Keywords are determined from the highly segmented words. These keywords help an attendant to stay with the agenda. The experimental results reveal that the proposed AMMGS can accurately identify speakers and recognize speech. Background: The dominant artery blood supply is a characteristic of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). However, it is not known whether the blood supply can predict the post-hepatectomy prognosis of patients with HCC. This retrospective study investigated the prognostic value of the portal venous and arterial blood supply estimated on triphasic liver CT (as a portal venous coefficient, PVC, and hepatic arterial coefficient, HAC, respectively) in patients with HCC following hepatectomy. Methods: HCC patients who were tested by triphasic liver CT 2 weeks before hepatectomy and received R0 hepatectomy at the Second Affiliated Hospital, Kunming Medical University between January 1, 2016 and December 31, 2020, were retrospectively screened. Their PVC and HAC, and other variables were analyzed for the prediction of overall survival (OS) and recurrence-free survival (RFS) using the least absolute shrinkage and selection operator and Cox proportional hazard regression models. Results: Four hundred and nineteen patients (53.2 ± 10.6 years of age and 370 men) were evaluated. A shorter OS was independently associated with higher blood albumin and total bilirubin grade [hazard ratio (HR) 2.020, 95% confidence interval (CI) 1.534– 2.660], higher Barcelona Clinic Liver Cancer (BCLC) stage (HR 1.514, 95% CI 1.290– 1.777), PVC ≤ 0.386 (HR 1.628, 95% CI 1.149– 2.305), and HAC > 0.029 (HR 1.969, 95% CI 1.380– 2.809). A shorter RFS was independently associated with male (HR 1.652, 95% CI 1.005– 2.716), higher serum α-fetoprotein ≥ 400 ng/mL (HR 1.672, 95% CI 1.236– 2.263), higher BCLC stage (HR 1.516, 95% CI 1.300– 1.768), tumor PVC ≤ 0.386 (HR 1.641, 95% CI 1.198– 2.249), and tumor HAC > 0.029 (HR 1.455, 95% CI 1.060– 1.997). Thioredoxins (TRXs) are central to redox regulation, modulating enzyme activities to adapt metabolism to environmental changes. Previous research emphasized mitochondrial and microsomal TRX o1 and h2 influence on mitochondrial metabolism, including photorespiration and the tricarboxylic acid (TCA) cycle. Our study aimed to compare TRX‐based regulation circuits towards environmental cues mainly affecting photorespiration. Metabolite snapshots, phenotypes and CO2 assimilation were compared among single and multiple TRX mutants in the wild‐type and the glycine decarboxylase T‐protein knockdown (gldt1) background. Our analyses provided evidence for additive negative effects of combined TRX o1 and h2 deficiency on growth and photosynthesis. Especially metabolite accumulation patterns suggest a shared regulation mechanism mainly on mitochondrial dihydrolipoamide dehydrogenase (mtLPD1)‐dependent pathways. Quantification of pyridine nucleotides, in conjunction with 13C‐labelling approaches, and biochemical analysis of recombinant mtLPD1 supported this. It also revealed mtLPD1 inhibition by NADH, pointing at an additional measure to fine‐tune it's activity. Collectively, we propose that lack of TRX o1 and h2 perturbs the mitochondrial redox state, which impacts on other pathways through shifts in the NADH/NAD+ ratio via mtLPD1. This regulation module might represent a node for simultaneous adjustments of photorespiration, the TCA cycle and branched chain amino acid degradation under fluctuating environmental conditions. We investigate the exclusive J / ψ production at the future Electron-ion collider in China by utilizing the eSTARlight event generator. We model the cross-section and kinematics by fitting to the world data of J / ψ photoproduction. Projected statistical uncertainties on J / ψ production are based on the design of a central detector, which consists of a tracker and vertex subsystem. The precision of the pseudo-data allows us to probe the near-threshold mechanism, e.g. the re-scattering effect. The significance of the forward amplitudes is discussed as well. The design and optimization of the detector enhance the potential for exploring the near-threshold region and the realm of high four-momentum transfer squared, which is of particular interest on several physics topics. Background: Although birth defects are of great concern globally, the latest national prevalence has not yet been quantified in China. We conducted a systematic review and meta-analysis to estimate the perinatal prevalence of birth defects in the Mainland of China between 2000 and 2021. Methods: We performed a systematic literature search of six databases for relevant articles published between January 1, 2000, and March 1, 2023. We included published studies that reported data on the perinatal prevalence of birth defects in the Mainland of China. The DerSimonian and Laird random-effects models were used to estimate the pooled prevalence and its 95% confidence interval (CI). We also conducted subgroup analyses and univariable meta-regressions to explore differences in prevalence by time period, geographic region, and other characteristics. Results: We included 254 studies reporting the perinatal prevalence of birth defects and 86 studies reporting only the prevalence of specific types of birth defects. Based on 254 studies covering 74,307,037 perinatal births and 985,115 cases with birth defects, the pooled perinatal prevalence of birth defects was 122.54 (95% CI 116.20–128.89) per 10,000 perinatal births in the Mainland of China during 2000–2021. Overall, the perinatal prevalence of birth defects increased from 95.60 (86.51–104.69) per 10,000 in 2000–2004 to 208.94 (175.67–242.22) per 10,000 in 2020–2021. There were also significant disparities among different geographical regions. Congenital heart defects (33.35 per 10,000), clefts of the lip and/or palate (13.52 per 10,000), polydactyly (12.82 per 10,000), neural tube defects (12.82 per 10,000), and inborn errors of metabolism (11.41 per 10,000) were the five most common types of birth defects. The perinatal prevalence among males was significantly higher than that among females (β = 2.44 × 10−3, P = 0.003); a higher perinatal prevalence of birth defects was observed among perinatal births whose mothers were ≥ 35 years (β = 4.34 × 10−3, P < 0.001). Conclusion: Comprehensive and sustained efforts are needed to strengthen surveillance and detection of birth defects, improve prenatal and postnatal healthcare, and promote rehabilitation, especially in underdeveloped areas. The type and morphology of inclusions have an important influence on the properties of high strength oil casing steel. In this paper, laboratory experiments were carried out to investigate the effect of cerium (Ce) alloying and holding time on inclusion modification of oil casing steel. The results show that with the increase of Ce content and the holding time, inclusions gradually changed from irregular shape to ellipsoidal shape. During the modification process, inclusions underwent the following transformations: Ca–Al–O + Al2O3 + Al–Mn–Si–O → Ca–Ce–Al–O + Ce (Mn, Si)–Al–O → CeAlO3 → CaO-Ce2O3 + Ce2O3. When the holding time was 5 minutes, the average size of inclusions decreased from 1.26 to 1.14 μm with Ce content increased from 0 to 77 ppm. Nevertheless, when the holding time was over 20 minutes, the average size of inclusions firstly exhibited a decrease trend while it then showed an increase trend with an increased Ce addition. In addition, the number density of inclusions in molten steel was gradually reduced with Ce content increased from 0 to 77 ppm. For the ingot samples cooled down to room temperature within the furnace, the transformation of inclusions evolved the following characteristics with an increased Ce content in steel: Al2O3 + xCaO·yAl2O3 → Ca–Ce–Al–O → CeAlO3 + CeAl11O18→CeAlO3 → CeAlO3 + Ce2O3. Introduction: Soybeans are an important crop used for food, oil, and feed. However, China's soybean self-sufficiency is highly inadequate, with an annual import volume exceeding 80%. RGB cameras serve as powerful tools for estimating crop yield, and machine learning is a practical method based on various features, providing improved yield predictions. However, selecting different input parameters and models, specifically optimal features and model effects, significantly influences soybean yield prediction. Methods: This study used an RGB camera to capture soybean canopy images from both the side and top perspectives during the R6 stage (pod filling stage) for 240 soybean varieties (a natural population formed by four provinces in China: Sichuan, Yunnan, Chongqing, and Guizhou). From these images, the morphological, color, and textural features of the soybeans were extracted. Subsequently, feature selection was performed on the image parameters using a Pearson correlation coefficient threshold =0.5. Five machine learning methods, namely, CatBoost, LightGBM, RF, GBDT, and MLP, were employed to establish soybean yield estimation models based on the individual and combined image parameters from the two perspectives extracted from RGB images. Results: (1) GBDT is the optimal model for predicting soybean yield, with a test set R2 value of 0.82, an RMSE of 1.99 g/plant, and an MAE of 3.12%. (2) The fusion of multiangle and multitype indicators is conducive to improving soybean yield prediction accuracy. Conclusion: Therefore, this combination of parameters extracted from RGB images via machine learning has great potential for estimating soybean yield, providing a theoretical basis and technical support for accelerating the soybean breeding process. Background: Long COVID potentially increases healthcare utilisation and costs. However, its impact on the NHS remains to be determined. Methods: This study aims to assess the healthcare utilisation of individuals with long COVID. With the approval of NHS England, we conducted a matched cohort study using primary and secondary care data via OpenSAFELY, a platform for analysing anonymous electronic health records. The long COVID exposure group, defined by diagnostic codes, was matched with five comparators without long COVID between Nov 2020 and Jan 2023. We compared their total healthcare utilisation from GP consultations, prescriptions, hospital admissions, A&E visits, and outpatient appointments. Healthcare utilisation and costs were evaluated using a two-part model adjusting for covariates. Using a difference-in-difference model, we also compared healthcare utilisation after long COVID with pre-pandemic records. Results: We identified 52,988 individuals with a long COVID diagnosis, matched to 264,867 comparators without a diagnosis. In the 12 months post-diagnosis, there was strong evidence that those with long COVID were more likely to use healthcare resources (OR: 8.29, 95% CI: 7.74–8.87), and have 49% more healthcare utilisation (RR: 1.49, 95% CI: 1.48–1.51). Our model estimated that the long COVID group had 30 healthcare visits per year (predicted mean: 29.23, 95% CI: 28.58–29.92), compared to 16 in the comparator group (predicted mean visits: 16.04, 95% CI: 15.73–16.36). Individuals with long COVID were more likely to have non-zero healthcare expenditures (OR = 7.66, 95% CI = 7.20–8.15), with costs being 44% higher than the comparator group (cost ratio = 1.44, 95% CI: 1.39–1.50). The long COVID group costs approximately £2500 per person per year (predicted mean cost: £2562.50, 95% CI: £2335.60–£2819.22), and the comparator group costs £1500 (predicted mean cost: £1527.43, 95% CI: £1404.33–1664.45). Historically, individuals with long COVID utilised healthcare resources more frequently, but their average healthcare utilisation increased more after being diagnosed with long COVID, compared to the comparator group. Conclusions: Long COVID increases healthcare utilisation and costs. Public health policies should allocate more resources towards preventing, treating, and supporting individuals with long COVID. Several studies have reported the efficacy of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) for central serous chorioretinopathy (CSC), while some ophthalmologists are concerned that TCM may be a risk factor for CSC as some chinese herbs contain hormonal ingredients. This study aimed to evaluate the efficacy and safety of TCM in treating patients with CSC. Randomized controlled trials (RCTs) and observational studies of TCM for CSC were searched up to July 10, 2023 on the following biological databases without language and publication time restrictions: PubMed, Ovid Medline, Embase, Cochrane Library, The Chinese National Knowledge Infrastructure Database (CNKI), Technology Periodical Database (VIP), Wanfang, and Chinese Biomedical Literature Service System (SinoMed). Review Manager V.5.4.1 and Stata 14 software were used for data analysis. Finally, thirty-eight studies were finally included including 23 RCTs and 15 cohort studies. The meta-analysis showed that compared with the routine treatment alone, the combination of TCM can not only reduce the recurrence rate (OR = 0.29, 95% CI: 0.21,0.40; I2 = 0%) and central retinal thickness (CRT) (MD = - 35.63, 95% CI: - 45.96,-25.30; I2 = 89%) of CSC, but improve patients' best corrected visual acuity (BCVA) (SMD = 0.86, 95% CI: 0.62,1.11; I2 = 77%); additionally, it has no obvious side effects compared with routine treatment (OR = 0.72, 95% CI: 0.39,1.34; I2 = 10%). Overall, this study shows that the use of TCM does not increase the risk of CSC recurrence; on the contrary, the combination of TCM may reduce the recurrence of CSC and improve BCVA and CRT in patients with CSC compared with conventional treatment. Arctic amplification (AA), the greater Arctic surface warming compared to the global average, has been widely attributed to increasing concentrations of greenhouse gases (GHG). However, less is known about the impacts of other forcings - notably, anthropogenic aerosols (AER) - and how they may compare to the impacts of GHG. Here we analyze sets of climate model simulations, specifically designed to isolate the AER and GHG effects on global climate. Surprisingly, we find stronger AA produced by AER than by GHG during the 1955–1984 period, when the strongest global AER increase. This stronger AER-induced AA is due to a greater sensitivity of Arctic sea ice, and associated changes in ocean-to-atmosphere heat exchange, to AER forcing. Our findings highlight the asymmetric Arctic climate response to GHG and AER forcings, and show that clean air policies which have reduced aerosol emissions may have exacerbated the Arctic warming over the past few decades. Indoor photovoltaics (IPV) is a promising technology to power the rapidly developing Internet of Things (IoT) devices, offering advantages of distributed power source and reduced maintenance cost. Wide‐bandgap perovskite solar cells (PSCs), with the features of easy bandgap tuning and low‐cost solution process, hold significant potential for powering indoor IoT devices. However, the efficiency and stability of wide‐bandgap PSCs suffers from severe phase segregation and surface defects. Herein, a novel bromide‐rich 2D passivation strategy targeting both bulk and surface passivation of wide‐bandgap PSCs for IPV application is introduced. Ammonium salts with optimized alkyl chain length is confirmed to suppress the phase segregation in the bulk. Bromide‐rich 2D perovskite exhibit superior performance compared to their iodide counterparts, effectively suppressing nonradiative recombination and forming favorable energy band alignment with the electron transport layer (ETL). The wide‐bandgap PSCs achieved an impressive power conversion efficiency (PCE) up to 41.58% under 1000 lux light emitting diode (LED) illumination. Furthermore, the wide‐bandgap perovskite module efficiently powers a Bluetooth IoT sensor at 400 lux indoor illumination, which can sense and broadcast the environmental information. This work highlights the remarkable potential of wide‐bandgap PSCs for indoor IoT devices and provides valuable insights into enhancing the efficiency and stability of PSCs for future IoT applications. Screening for osteoporosis is crucial for early detection and prevention, yet it faces challenges due to the low accuracy of calcaneal quantitative ultrasound (QUS) and limited access to dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry (DXA) scans. Recent advances in AI offer a promising solution through opportunistic screening using existing medical images. This study aims to utilize deep learning techniques to develop a model that analyzes chest X-ray (CXR) images for osteoporosis screening. This study included the AI model development stage and the clinical validation stage. In the AI model development stage, the combined dataset of 5122 paired CXR images and DXA reports from the patients aged 20 to 98 years at a medical center was collected. The images were enhanced and filtered for hardware retention such as pedicle screws, bone cement, artificial intervertebral discs or severe deformity in target level of T12 and L1. The dataset was then separated into training, validating, and testing datasets for model training and performance validation. In the clinical validation stage, we collected 440 paired CXR images and DXA reports from both the TCVGH and Joy Clinic, including 304 pared data from TCVGH and 136 paired data from Joy Clinic. The pre-clinical test yielded an area under the curve (AUC) of 0.940, while the clinical validation showed an AUC of 0.946. Pearson's correlation coefficient was 0.88. The model demonstrated an overall accuracy, sensitivity, and specificity of 89.0%, 88.7%, and 89.4%, respectively. This study proposes an AI model for opportunistic osteoporosis screening through CXR, demonstrating good performance and suggesting its potential for broad adoption in preliminary screening among high-risk populations. Background: Neuroendocrine prostate cancer (NEPC) is a lethal subset of prostate cancer which is characterized by neuroendocrine differentiation and loss of androgen receptor (AR) signaling. Growing evidence reveals that cell lineage plasticity is crucial in the failure of NEPC therapies. Although studies suggest the involvement of the neural transcription factor PAX6 in drug resistance, its specific role in NEPC remains unclear. Methods: The expression of PAX6 in NEPC was identified via bioinformatics and immunohistochemistry. CCK8 assay, colony formation assay, tumorsphere formation assay and apoptosis assay were used to illustrate the key role of PAX6 in the progression of in vitro. ChIP and Dual-luciferase reporter assays were conducted to confirm the binding sequences of AR in the promoter region of PAX6, as well as the binding sequences of PAX6 in the promoter regions of STAT5A and MET. For in vivo validation, the xenograft model representing NEPC subtype underwent pathological analysis to verify the significant role of PAX6 in disease progression. Complementary diagnoses were established through public clinical datasets and transcriptome sequencing of specific cell lines. ATAC-seq was used to detect the chromatin accessibility of specific cell lines. Results: PAX6 expression was significantly elevated in NEPC and negatively regulated by AR signaling. Activation of PAX6 in non-NEPC cells led to NE trans-differentiation, while knock-down of PAX6 in NEPC cells inhibited the development and progression of NEPC. Importantly, loss of AR resulted in an enhanced expression of PAX6, which reprogramed the lineage plasticity of prostate cancer cells to develop NE phenotypes through the MET/STAT5A signaling pathway. Background: Cardiovascular Risk Factors, Ageing and Dementia (CAIDE) risk score serves as a credible predictor of an individual's risk of dementia. However, studies on the link of the CAIDE score to Alzheimer's disease (AD) pathology are scarce. Objective: To explore the links of CAIDE score to cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) biomarkers of AD as well as to cognitive performance. Methods: In the Chinese Alzheimer's Biomarker and LifestylE (CABLE) study, we recruited 600 cognitively normal participants. Correlations between the CAIDE score and CSF biomarkers of AD as well as cognitive performance were probed through multiple linear regression models. Whether the correlation between CAIDE score and cognitive performance was mediated by AD pathology was researched by means of mediation analyses. Results: Linear regression analyses illustrated that CAIDE score was positively associated with tau-related biomarkers, including pTau (p < 0.001), tTau (p < 0.001), as well as tTau/Aβ42 (p = 0.008), while it was in negative association with cognitive scores, consisting of MMSE score (p < 0.001) as well as MoCA score (p < 0.001). The correlation from CAIDE score to cognitive scores was in part mediated by tau pathology, with a mediation rate varying from 3.2% to 13.2%. Conclusions: A higher CAIDE score, as demonstrated in our study, was linked to more severe tau pathology and poorer cognitive performance, and tau pathology mediated the link of CAIDE score to cognitive performance. Background: Ovarian carcinoma (OC) is a fatal malignancy, with most patients experiencing recurrence and resistance to chemotherapy. In contrast to hematogenous metastasizing tumors, ovarian cancer cells disseminate within the peritoneal cavity, especially the omentum. Previously, we reported omental crown-like structure (CLS) number is associated with poor prognosis of advanced-stage OC. CLS that have pathologic features of a dead or dying adipocyte was surrounded by several macrophages is well known a histologic hallmark for inflammatory adipose tissue. In this study, we attempted to clarify the interaction between metastatic ovarian cancer cells and omental CLS, and to formulate a therapeutic strategy for advanced-stage ovarian cancer. Methods: A three-cell (including OC cells, adipocytes and macrophages) coculture model was established to mimic the omental tumor microenvironment (TME) of ovarian cancer. Caspase-1 activity, ATP and free fatty acids (FFA) levels were detected by commercial kits. An adipocyte organoid model was established to assess macrophages migration and infiltration. In vitro and in vivo experiments were performed for functional assays and therapeutic effect evaluations. Clinical OC tissue samples were collected for immunochemistry stain and statistics analysis. Results: In three-cell coculture model, OC cells-derived IL-6 and IL-8 could induce the occurrence of pyroptosis in omental adipocytes. The pyroptotic adipocytes release ATP to increase macrophage infiltration, release FFA into TME, uptake by OC cells to increase chemoresistance. From OC tumor samples study, we demonstrated patients with high gasdermin D (GSDMD) expression in omental adipocytes is highly correlated with chemoresistance and poor outcome in advanced-stage OC. In animal model, by pyroptosis inhibitor, DSF, effectively retarded tumor growth and prolonged mice survival. Conclusions: Omental adipocyte pyroptosis may contribute the chemoresistance in advanced stage OC. Omental adipocytes could release FFA and ATP through the GSDMD-mediate pyroptosis to induce chemoresistance and macrophages infiltration resulting the poor prognosis in advanced-stage OC. Bi-adhesive repair method is one of several repair technologies that use the adhesive bonding approach for patch-repaired composites. However, these repairs are subject to matrix-cracking and interface debonding damage. Furthermore, a change in the length ratio (the length of the rigid adhesive region divided by the length of the overall repaired region) also produces a change in the damage modes, which has a significant impact on the repair performance. Hence, this study aims to evaluate the effects of four different length ratios (0, 0.2, 0.5, 1) on the behavior of damage evolution in bi-adhesive repaired composites. The acoustic emission damage identification and micro-CT characterization are carried out based on the machine learning method. A simple prediction method is employed to distinguish damage modes in bi-adhesive repaired composites, achieving a prediction accuracy over 90%. The results demonstrated that the length ratio has a substantial effect on matrix-cracking, fiber-matrix debonding, and their interaction in bi-adhesive repaired composites. These acquired characteristics information of acoustic emission signals provide insights into the impact of length ratio on the progression of damage evolution. Additionally, the visualization of interior damage offers insights into the variations in failure characteristics within distinct bi-adhesive repaired composites, thereby supporting the conclusions gained from acoustic emission studies. This research effectively achieves the real-time monitoring of damage modes in bi-adhesive repaired composites, contributing to the comprehension of the relationship between length ratio and damage mechanism. A typical Madden–Julian Oscillation (MJO) generates a large region of enhanced rainfall over the equatorial Indian Ocean that moves slowly eastward into the western Pacific. Tropical cyclones often form on the poleward edges of the MJO moist-convective envelope, frequently impacting both southeast Asia and northern Australia, and on occasion Eastern Africa. This paper addresses the question of whether these MJO-induced tropical cyclones will become more numerous in the future as the oceans warm. The Lagrangian Atmosphere Model (LAM), which has been carefully tuned to simulate realistic MJO circulations, is used to study the sensitivity of MJO modulation of tropical cyclogenesis (TCG) to global warming. A control simulation for the current climate is compared with a simulation with enhanced radiative forcing consistent with that for the latter part of the 21st century under Shared Socioeconomic Pathway (SSP) 585. The LAM control run reproduces the observed MJO modulation of TCG, with about 70 percent more storms forming than monthly climatology predicts within the MJO's convective envelope. The LAM SSP585 run suggests that TCG enhancement within the convective envelope could reach 170 percent of the background value under a high greenhouse gas emissions scenario, owing to a strengthening of Kelvin and Rossby wave components of the MJO's circulation. Our purpose in this study was to determine the effects of a virtual reality intervention delivering specific motivational motor learning manipulations of either autonomy support (AS) or enhanced expectancies (EE) on frontal plane single-leg squatting kinematics. We allocated 45 participants (21 male, 24 female) demonstrating knee, hip, and trunk frontal plane mechanics associated with elevated anterior cruciate ligament injury risk to one of three groups (control, AS, or EE). Participants mimicked an avatar performing five sets of eight repetitions of exemplary single-leg squats. AS participants were given the added option of choosing the color of their avatar. EE participants received real-time biofeedback in the form of green highlights on the avatar that remained on as long as the participant maintained pre-determined 'safe' frontal plane mechanics. We measured peak frontal plane knee, hip, and trunk angles before (baseline) and immediately following (post) the intervention. The control group demonstrated greater increases in knee abduction angle (Δ = +2.3°) than did the AS (Δ = +0.1°) and EE groups (Δ = −0.4°) (p =.003; η2p =.28). All groups demonstrated increased peak hip adduction (p =.01, ηp2 =.18) (control Δ = +1.5°; AS Δ = +3.2°; EE Δ = +0.7°). Hip adduction worsened in all groups. Dynamic range is one of the primary limitations that restricts digital image sensors from acquiring more visual information. Current high dynamic range (HDR) imaging techniques entail a trade-off between dynamic range and visual fidelity. In this work, we propose a HDR imaging method, termed PE-HDR, to achieve both a wide dynamic range and high visual fidelity without additional complex post-processing algorithms. Instead of merging a bracketed exposure sequence, the PE-HDR captures HDR images in a single shot using optical coded pixel-wise exposure control, enabling cost-effective and flexible HDR imaging. By incorporating a differentiable optical encoder and a neural network decoder, we jointly optimize the imaging pipeline from light irradiance to digital image signals, thereby refining the pixel-wise exposure control strategy and improving image fidelity. Both simulations and experiments demonstrate that the proposed method achieves a dynamic range of up to 120 dB and an excellent visual fidelity with spatial resolution of up to 2560 × 1600 pixels. Although the representative theory of consumer/firm is widely used in particular forms of utility and production functions, is the optimal growth model adequately supported by a multi-regional microeconomic base in a "general form of utility and production functions"? Is the "optimization of macro-aggregate functions" consistent with the "summation of micro-optimal outcomes"? Economists have explored the problem of summation of macro-variables in a special form of production and utility function setting to find some theoretical foundations of macroeconomics in the case of heterogeneous representative consumers. However, heterogeneous representative producers have not been studied enough, and the conclusions are too dependent on the functional form. This study searches for the conditions for macroeconomics to reach micro-foundations in the framework of heterogeneous producers and general functions. Linking the entire macroeconomy through inter-regional capital flows, we distinguish between using and equity capital, construct a multi-regional dynamic optimal growth model in a homogeneous representative consumer and heterogeneous representative manufacturers, compare the summation of the regional dynamics with the aggregate macro-dynamics, and find that (A) the regional and macro-perspectives are generally inconsistent in their optimization results; (B) if the population growth rate is the same across regions, the macro-steady state is a weighted summation of the steady states; and (C) if the inverse of the absolute risk aversion is linearly additive to consumption, the model is reliable. In particular, CARA and CRRA-type utility functions are eligible. Epigenetic mechanisms bridge genetic and environmental factors that contribute to the pathogenesis of major depression disorder (MDD). However, the cellular specificity and sensitivity of environmental stress on brain epitranscriptomics and its impact on depression remain unclear. Here, we found that ALKBH5, an RNA demethylase of N6-methyladenosine (m6A), was increased in MDD patients' blood and depression models. ALKBH5 in astrocytes was more sensitive to stress than that in neurons and endothelial cells. Selective deletion of ALKBH5 in astrocytes, but not in neurons and endothelial cells, produced antidepressant-like behaviors. Astrocytic ALKBH5 in the mPFC regulated depression-related behaviors bidirectionally. Meanwhile, ALKBH5 modulated glutamate transporter-1 (GLT-1) m6A modification and increased the expression of GLT-1 in astrocytes. ALKBH5 astrocyte-specific knockout preserved stress-induced disruption of glutamatergic synaptic transmission, neuronal atrophy and defective Ca2+ activity. Moreover, enhanced m6A modification with S-adenosylmethionine (SAMe) produced antidepressant-like effects. Our findings indicate that astrocytic epitranscriptomics contribute to depressive-like behaviors and that astrocytic ALKBH5 may be a therapeutic target for depression. The regulatory mechanism and function of astrocytic epigenetic effects on depression remain to be explored. Papaya (Carica papaya L.) is a typical climacteric fruit with a brief shelf life due to the rapid degradation of quality during post-ripening, necessitating appropriate postharvest management to address this challenge. This study aimed to investigate the characteristics of thyme oil nanoemulsion (TO-NE) coating and utilize its benefits for preserving papaya. This study also investigated the physiological properties and quality changes of papaya storage at 20 ℃ and, in parallel, examined the effects of TO-NE coating to mitigate microbial infection of papaya during storage. The postharvest papaya was soaked in different concentrations (0.1, 0.25, and 0.5 mg/g) of TO-NE for coating. At the same time, the decay loss rate and effective shelf life were also evaluated. This study revealed that polygalacturonase (PG) and pectinesterase (PME) activities were inhibited during the storage of papaya treated with 0.25 mg/g TO-NE coated compared to the control group. This resulted in the preservation of the firmness of papaya fruits, in addition to a higher ascorbic acid content, delayed total soluble solids (TSS) accumulation, and total chlorophyll content (TCC) degradation, with a lagging color change for two days. The respiration rate and ethylene production were suppressed, while the 0.25 mg/g TO-NE coated group at day 14 (ethylene peak) were 63.2 mg CO2 kg−1 h−1 and 7.3 µL kg−1 h−1, lower than control. The 0.25 mg/g TO-NE coating treatment significantly reduced the decay rate for 10 days of storage, preserving their appearance and facilitating ripening. Perfluorooctane sulfonate (PFOS) is a prominent perfluorinated compound commonly found in the environment, known to pose various risks to human health. However, the removal of PFOS presents significant challenges, primarily due to the limited discovery of bacteria capable of effectively degrading PFOS. Moreover, single degradation bacteria often encounter obstacles in individual cultivation and the breakdown of complex pollutants. In contrast, microbial consortia have shown promise in pollutant degradation. This study employed a continuous enrichment method, combined with multiple co-metabolic substrates, to investigate a microbial consortium with the potential for PFOS degradation. By employing this methodology, we effectively identified a microbial consortium that demonstrated the capacity to reduce PFOS when exposed to an optimal concentration of methanol. The consortium predominantly comprised of Hyphomicrobium species (46.7%) along with unclassified microorganisms (53.0%). Over a duration of 20 days, the PFOS concentration exhibited a notable decrease of 56.7% in comparison to the initial level, while considering the exclusion of adsorption effects. Furthermore, by comparing the predicted metabolic pathways of the microbial consortium with the genome of a known chloromethane-degrading bacterium, Hyphomicrobium sp. MC1, using the KEGG database, we observed distinct variations in the metabolic pathways, suggesting the potential role of the unclassified microorganisms.
