Born–Huang expansion is the cornerstone for studying potential energy surfaces and non-adiabatic couplings (NACs) in molecular systems. However, the traditional approach is insufficient to describe the molecular system, which strongly interacts with quantum light. Inspired by the work by Schäfer et al., we develop the generalized Born–Huang expansion theory within a macroscopic quantum electrodynamics (QED) framework. The theory we present allows us to describe electromagnetic vacuum fluctuations in dielectric media and incorporate the effects of dressed photons (or polaritons) into NACs. With the help of the generalized Born–Huang expansion, we clearly classify electronic nuclear NACs, polaritonic nuclear NACs, and polaritonic electronic NACs. Furthermore, to demonstrate the advantage of the macroscopic QED framework, we estimate polaritonic electronic NACs without any free parameter, such as the effective mode volume, and demonstrate the distance dependence of the polaritonic electronic NACs in a silver planar system. In addition, we take a hydrogen atom in free space as an example and derive spontaneous emission rates from photonic electronic NACs (polaritonic electronic NACs are reduced to photonic electronic NACs). We believe that this work not only provides an avenue for the theoretical exploration of NACs in a nucleus–electron–polariton coupled system but also offers a more comprehensive understanding for molecules coupled with quantum light. Cavity quantum electrodynamics (CQED) and its extensions are widely used for the description of exciton–polariton systems. However, the exciton–polariton models based on CQED vary greatly within different contexts. One of the most significant discrepancies among these CQED models is whether one should include direct intermolecular interactions in the CQED Hamiltonian. To answer this question, in this article, we derive an effective dissipative CQED model including free-space dipole–dipole interactions (CQED-DDI) from a microscopic Hamiltonian based on macroscopic quantum electrodynamics. Dissipative CQED-DDI successfully captures the nature of vacuum fluctuations in dielectric media and separates them into free-space effects and dielectric-induced effects. The former include spontaneous emissions, dephasings, and dipole–dipole interactions in free space; the latter include exciton–polariton interactions and photonic losses due to dielectric media. We apply dissipative CQED-DDI to investigate the exciton–polariton dynamics (the population dynamics of molecules above a plasmonic surface) and compare the results with those based on the methods proposed by several previous studies. Exciton transport in extended molecular systems and how to manipulate such transport in a complex environment are essential to many energy and optical-related applications. We investigate the mechanism of plasmon-coupled exciton transport by using the Pauli master equation approach, combined with kinetic rates derived from macroscopic quantum electrodynamics. Through our theoretical framework, we demonstrate that the presence of a silver nanorod induces significant frequency dependence in the ability of transporting exciton through a molecule chain, indicated by the exciton diffusion coefficient, due to the dispersive nature of the silver dielectric response. Compared with the same system in vacuum, great enhancement (up to a factor of 103) in the diffusion coefficient can be achieved by coupling the resonance energy transfer process to localized surface plasmon polariton modes of the nanorod. Furthermore, our analysis reveals that the diffusion coefficients with the nearest-neighbor coupling approximation are ∼10 times smaller than the results obtained beyond this approximation, emphasizing the significance of long-range coupling in exciton transport influenced by plasmonic nanostructures. This study not only paves the way for exploring practical approaches to study plasmon-coupled exciton transport but also provides crucial insights for the design of innovative plasmon-assisted photovoltaic applications. Enhancing drought tolerance in crops and understanding the underlying mechanisms have been subject of intense research. The precise function and molecular mechanisms of B-box zinc finger proteins (BBX) remain elusive. Here, we report a natural allele of BBX18 (BBX18TT) that encodes a C-terminal truncated protein. While most wild tomato germplasms contain the BBX18CC allele and show more drought tolerant, modern cultivated tomatoes mostly carry BBX18TT allele and are more drought sensitive. Knockout of BBX18 leads to improved drought tolerance in transgenic plants of cultivated tomato. Ascorbate peroxidase 1 (APX1) is identified as a BBX18-interacting protein that acts as a positive regulator of drought resistance in tomato. Chromatin immunoprecipitation sequencing analyses reveal that BBX18 binds to a unique cis-acting element of the APX1 promoter and represses its gene expression. This study provides insights into the molecular mechanism underlying drought resistance mediated by the BBX18-APX1 module in plants. Elucidation of drought tolerance mechanism would help to develop tolerant crops. The genus Camellia contains three types of domesticates that meet various needs of ancient humans: the ornamental C. japonica, the edible oil-producing C. oleifera, and the beverage-purposed tea plant C. sinensis. The genomic drivers of the functional diversification of Camellia domesticates remain unknown. Here, we present the genomic variations of 625 Camellia accessions based on a new genome assembly of C. sinensis var. assamica ('YK10'), which consists of 15 pseudo-chromosomes with a total length of 3.35 Gb and a contig N50 of 816,948 bp. These accessions were mainly distributed in East Asia, South Asia, Southeast Asia, and Africa. We profiled the population and subpopulation structure in tea tree Camellia to find new evidence for the parallel domestication of C. sinensis var. assamica (CSA) and C. sinensis var. sinensis (CSS). We also identified candidate genes associated with traits differentiating CSA, CSS, oilseed Camellia, and ornamental Camellia cultivars. Our results provide a unique global view of the genetic diversification of Camellia domesticates and provide valuable resources for ongoing functional and molecular breeding research. Radiative sky cooling is a promising passive cooling technology that dose not consume energy or produce greenhouse gas. It has been extensively studied in the past decades. However, its relatively low cooling power (∼100 W m−2) presents a significant barrier to its commercial deployment. For broader applications, integrating phase change and evaporative cooling can significantly enhance the cooling performance and temperature control capabilities of radiative sky cooling. In this review, we summarize the recent advances in hybrid cooling achieved by incorporating radiative cooling with phase change cooling or evaporative cooling. The regulatory mechanism of hybrid cooling is first discussed to reveal the detailed working principle. Subsequently, the structure form and cooling performance of hybrid cooling are summarized to fully clarify the core points of material design and highlight their benefits. In addition, the application scenarios of hybrid cooling are further discussed to underline their promising application potential. Background: Carboxylesterase 1(CES1) is expressed mainly in the liver and adipose tissue and is highly hypothesized to play an essential role in metabolism. Our study aimed to investigate the association between CES1 and metabolic syndrome (MetS) and metabolic dysfunction associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD) in children with obesity in China. Methods: This study included 72 children with obesity aged 6-13years (including 25(35%) diagnosed as MetS and 36(50%) diagnosed as MASLD). All subjects were measured in anthropometry, serum level of biochemical parameters related to obesity, circumstance levels of insulin-like growth factor1, adipokines (adiponectin, leptin and growth differentiation factor 15) and CES1. Results: Higher serum CES1 level were found in the MetS group (P = 0.004) and the MASLD group (P < 0.001) of children with obesity. Serum CES1 levels were positively correlated with alanine aminotransferase, aspartate aminotransferase, triglyceride, cholesterol, low-density lipoprotein cholesterol, GDF15, Leptin and negatively correlated with high-density lipoprotein cholesterol, adiponectin and IGF1. We also found a multivariable logistic regression analysis of MASLD and MetS predicted by CES1 significantly (MASLD P < 0.01, MetS P < 0.05). The combination of CES1, sex, age and BMI Z-score showed a sensitivity and specificity of 92.7% for the identification of MASLD and 78.6% for the identification of MetS. The cutoff for CES1 of MASLD is 56.30 ng/mL and of MetS is 97.79 ng/mL. Conclusions: CES1 is associated with an increasing risk of MetS and MASLD and can be established as a biomarker for metabolic syndrome and MASLD of children with obesity. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The ground cracks resulting from coal mining activities induce alterations in the physical and chemical characteristics of soil. However, limited knowledge exists regarding the impact of subsidence caused by coal mining on the distribution of potentially toxic elements (PTEs) fractions in farmland soil. In this study, we collected 19 soil profiles at varying depths from the soil surface and at horizontal distances of 0, 1, 2, and 5 m from the vertical crack. Using BCR extraction fractionation, we determined the geochemical fractions and total concentrations of Chromium (Cr), nickel (Ni), copper (Cu), zinc (Zn), arsenic (As), cadmium (Cd) and lead (Pb) to investigate their ecological risk, spatial fraction distribution, and main influencing factors. Results showed that the E r i values of Cd appearing in 68.7% of the samples were higher than 40 and less than 80, presented a moderate ecological risk. Chromium (Cr), nickel (Ni), copper (Cu), zinc (Zn), arsenic (As), and lead (Pb) were mainly bound to residual fractions (> 60%) with lower mobility and Cd was dominated by F1 (acid-soluble fractions, 50%) and F2 (reducible fractions, 29%) in surface soil (0–20 cm). The geochemical fractionation revealed that the mobile fractions (F1—acid-soluble and F2—reducible) of PTEs were primarily located near the crack, influenced by available potassium. In contrast, the less mobile fractions (F3—oxidizable and F4—residual) exhibited higher concentrations at distances of 2 and 5 m from the crack, except for arsenic, influenced by the presence of clay particles and available phosphorus. BACKGROUND: The present study investigated the structure, functional and physicochemical properties of lotus seed protein (LSP) under different pH environments. The structures of LSP were characterized by sodium dodecyl sulfate‐polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), zeta potential, particle size distributions, free sulfhydryl and rheological properties. The functional and physicochemical properties of LSP were characterized by color, foaming property, emulsification property, solubility, oil holding capacity, water holding capacity, differential scanning calorimetry analysis and surface hydrophobicity. RESULTS: LSP was mainly composed of eight subunits (18, 25, 31, 47, 51, 56, 65 and 151 kDa), in which the richest band was 25 kDa. FTIR results showed that LSP had high total contents of α‐helix and β‐sheet (44.81–46.85%) in acidic environments. Meanwhile, there was more β‐structure and random structure in neutral and alkaline environments (pH 7.0 and 9.0). At pH 5.0, LSP had large particle size (1576.98 nm), high emulsion stability index (91.43 min), foaming stability (75.69%) and water holding capacity (2.21 g g−1), but low solubility (35.98%), free sulfhydryl content (1.95 μmol g−1) and surface hydrophobicity (780). DSC analysis showed the denaturation temperatures (82.23 °C) of LSP at pH 5.0 was higher than those (80.10, 80.52 and 71.82 °C) at pH 3.0, 7.0 and 9.0. The analysis of rheological properties showed that LSP gel had high stability and great strength in an alkaline environment. Summary: Rectifier load in inductive power transfer system has nonlinear characteristics. However, the traditional analysis method equates it to a pure resistor, which leads to a certain deviation between the theoretical analysis and the actual circuit. This will reduce the accuracy of the inductive power transfer (IPT) system model and affect the soft switching operation of the inverter. In this paper, the IPT system with S‐type topology on the secondary side is studied. Firstly, the resistance–inductance characteristics of the rectifier load are analyzed by simulation, and then a second‐order circuit response model is established to solve the time‐domain expression of voltage and current. Then, the fundamental component of voltage and current is extracted by Fourier transform to calculate the impedance value of the rectifier load, and the mathematical calculation model of the rectifier load is established. On this basis, the influence of the inductive component of the rectifier load on the input impedance of the IPT system is analyzed. Then, a parameter design method for zero voltage switching is proposed for S‐S and LCC‐S topologies. Finally, an experimental platform of S‐S and LCC‐S IPT system is built. Introduction: Automated bone age assessment (BAA) is of growing interest because of its accuracy and time efficiency in daily practice. In this study, we validated the clinical applicability of a commercially available artificial intelligence (AI)-powered X-ray bone age analyzer equipped with a deep learning-based automated BAA system and compared its performance with that of the Tanner–Whitehouse 3 (TW-3) method. Methods: Radiographs prospectively collected from 30 centers across various regions in China, including 900 Chinese children and adolescents, were assessed independently by six doctors (three experts and three residents) and an AI analyzer for TW3 radius, ulna, and short bones (RUS) and TW3 carpal bone age. The experts' mean estimates were accepted as the gold standard. The performance of the AI analyzer was compared with that of each resident. Results: For the estimation of TW3-RUS, the AI analyzer had a mean absolute error (MAE) of 0.48 ± 0.42. The percentage of patients with an absolute error of < 1.0 years was 86.78%. The MAE was significantly lower than that of rater 1 (0.54 ± 0.49, P = 0.0068); however, it was not significant for rater 2 (0.48 ± 0.48) or rater 3 (0.49 ± 0.46). For TW3 carpal, the AI analyzer had an MAE of 0.48 ± 0.65. The percentage of patients with an absolute error of < 1.0 years was 88.78%. The MAE was significantly lower than that of rater 2 (0.58 ± 0.67, P = 0.0018) and numerically lower for rater 1 (0.54 ± 0.64) and rater 3 (0.50 ± 0.53). These results were consistent for the subgroups according to sex, and differences between the age groups were observed. Conclusion: In this comprehensive validation study conducted in China, an AI-powered X-ray bone age analyzer showed accuracies that matched or exceeded those of doctor raters. This method may improve the efficiency of clinical routines by reducing reading time without compromising accuracy. Using AI to automatically assess bone age from X-ray images may improve efficiency without reducing accuracy. In this study, we evaluated how well an AI-powered X-ray bone age analyzer performed compared to the established Tanner–Whitehouse 3 (TW-3) method. X-ray images from 900 Chinese children and adolescents were collected from 30 centers. Six doctors (three experts, three residents) and the AI system independently assessed the TW-3 radius, ulna, and short bones (RUS) and TW-3 carpal bone age. The experts' assessments were considered the gold standard. The AI analyzer had an average error of 0.48 years for TW3-RUS bone age, with 87% of assessments within 1 year of the experts. For TW3 carpal bone age, the AI had an average error of 0.48 years, with 89% within 1 year. These results were similar to or better than those of the resident raters. These findings show the AI-powered analyzer can assess bone age as accurately as human raters. Objective: To define the appropriate penile straightening procedures corresponding to the specific penile curvature by comparing the penile length resulting from various straightening procedures in hypospadias repair. Methods: We retrospectively analyzed hypospadias patients between 2017 and 2019. Patients were divided into three groups based on the penile curvature after degloving: <30°, 30°–45°, and >45°. The penile straightening procedures include dorsal plication (DP), simple urethral plate (UP) transection, and UP transection with ventral lengthening (VL). The paired t‐test was conducted for the penile length after fully straightening in each group, simultaneously calculating the length changes (∆T). In addition, the penile length changes among these procedures were compared using Spearman analysis to show the correlation between the penile curvature and the length. Results: The penile length changed significantly after fully straightening in all groups. The length decreased mildly after DP, while increased in the other procedures. The penile curvature after degloving was positively correlated with the absolute change in the penile length (P < 0.001, r = 0.424) and the ratio of ∆T in the original length (P < 0.001, r = 0.433). Conclusion: For hypospadias, the 30° after degloving may serve as the cut‐off for the selection of the straightening method from the perspective of the penile length. For those with < 30°, methods such as DP or UP transection can either be selected. In patients with > 30°, DP should be used with caution because of the potential risk to shorten the penis. In contrast, UP transection effectively corrects the penile curvature and increases the penile length concurrently, which should be primarily recommended in those patients. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

In recent years, microRNAs have been used as cancer markers in clinical testing. In this study, an electrochemical biosensor was developed based on nanomaterials and the hybridization chain reaction (HCR) for highly sensitive and selective detection of the target miR-378 using K3Fe(CN)6/K4Fe(CN)6 as a redox indicator. MiR-378 is located on human chromosome 5q32 and serves as an important gene regulatory locus. Recent studies have found that aberrant expression of miR-378 is associated with cervical cancer, breast cancer, lung cancer, and other diseases. HCR is a simple and efficient isothermal amplification technique that does not require enzyme mediation and can be performed at room temperature. Evaluations of the specificity, stability, and sensitivity of the developed sensor revealed its ability to rapidly and specifically detect miR-378 in two hours with a detection limit as low as 100 cells in a volume of 400 µL, thereby indicating that this device could provide a novel approach for clinical diagnosis. Background: Delirium, marked by acute cognitive decline, poses a life-threatening issue among older individuals, especially after cardiac surgery, with prevalence ranging from 15 to 80%. Postoperative delirium is linked to increased morbidity and mortality. Although clinical trials suggest preventability, there is limited research on intranasal insulin (INI) for cardiac surgery-related delirium. INI has shown promise in managing cognitive disorders. It rapidly elevates brain hormone levels, enhancing memory even in non-impaired individuals. While effective in preventing delirium in gastrointestinal surgery, its impact after cardiac surgery remains understudied, especially for middle-aged patients. Method: This is a prospective randomized, double-blind, single-center controlled trial. A total of 76 eligible participants scheduled for elective on-pump cardiac surgery will be enrolled and randomly assigned in a 1:1 ratio to either receive Intranasally administered insulin (INI) or intranasally administered normal saline. The primary outcome of our study is the incidence of postoperative delirium (POD). Secondary outcomes include duration of ICU, postoperative hospital length of stay, all in-hospital mortality, the change in MMSE scores pre- and post-operation, and incidence of postoperative cognitive dysfunction at 1 month, 3 months, and 6 months after operation. Moreover, we will subjectively and objectively evaluate perioperative sleep quality to investigate the potential impact of nasal insulin on the development of delirium by influencing sleep regulation. Discussion: Our study will aim to assess the impact of intranasal administration of insulin on the incidence of postoperative delirium in middle-aged patients undergoing on-pump elective cardiac surgery. Hot-carrier transistors are a class of devices that leverage the excess kinetic energy of carriers. Unlike regular transistors, which rely on steady-state carrier transport, hot-carrier transistors modulate carriers to high-energy states, resulting in enhanced device speed and functionality. These characteristics are essential for applications that demand rapid switching and high-frequency operations, such as advanced telecommunications and cutting-edge computing technologies1–5. However, the traditional mechanisms of hot-carrier generation are either carrier injection6–11 or acceleration12,13, which limit device performance in terms of power consumption and negative differential resistance14–17. Mixed-dimensional devices, which combine bulk and low-dimensional materials, can offer different mechanisms for hot-carrier generation by leveraging the diverse potential barriers formed by energy-band combinations18–21. Here we report a hot-emitter transistor based on double mixed-dimensional graphene/germanium Schottky junctions that uses stimulated emission of heated carriers to achieve a subthreshold swing lower than 1 millivolt per decade beyond the Boltzmann limit and a negative differential resistance with a peak-to-valley current ratio greater than 100 at room temperature. Multi-valued logic with a high inverter gain and reconfigurable logic states are further demonstrated. The study introduces a method for identifying the location of receiver coils within a multi‐transmitter IPT system that utilizes shared transmitter coils. In contrast to the conventional receiver coil position recognition methods, this approach eliminates the need for additional detection coils and position sensors. Identifying the location of the receiver coil in a multi‐transmitter IPT system is achieved through the concurrent optimization of the transmitter coil and its electrical characteristics. The study presents the design of coil grouping and control mechanisms for a 3×3 multi‐transmitter. A mathematical model has been developed for the mutual inductance between receiver and transmitter coils on the X–Y plane. Adaptive cooperative particle swarm optimizer (ACPSO) facilitates the identification of mutual inductance and load parameters in a multi‐transmitter IPT system, positioning the receiver coil in a 2D plane using genetic particle swarm optimization (GAPSO) and a mutual inductance mathematical model. Radiation-free one-stage bedside endoscopic stone removal and biliary drainage for severe acute cholangitis (SAC) caused by choledocholithiasis in intensive care unit (ICU) has not been reported. Herein, we introduce our preliminary experience of such intervention. Radiation-free bedside digital cholangioscope-assisted one-stage endoscopic stone removal and biliary drainage was performed in an urgent manner. Data on clinical outcomes and follow-up from thirty patients were retrospectively analyzed. Time interval was 7.6 ± 4.7 (2–18) h between ICU admission and endoscopic intervention, and was 35.5 ± 14.5 (5–48) h between the seizure and endoscopic intervention. A 100% technical success was achieved. Except for one mild pancreatitis, no other complication occurred. Patients showed good responses to endoscopic interventions, which were reflected by ameliorated disease severities and laboratory findings. Time lengths of ICU stay and total in-hospital stay were 8.7 ± 4.9 (2–23) days and 14.5 ± 7.4 (5–39) days, respectively. In-hospital mortality occurred in three patients. According to a 6-month follow-up, two patients died of pneumonia and acute myocardial infarction. No SAC and/or biliary stone residual occurred. The current intervention demonstrated favorable results compared to traditional endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography. Background: Pain management is an important part of nursing care for children. The objective of this study was to systematically assess the impact of virtual reality (VR) technology on alleviating the pain and anxiety experienced by children during venipuncture procedures. Methods: This study searched Pubmed, Web of Sciences, Scopus, The Cochrane Library, Cumulative Index of Nursing and Allied Health Literature (CINAHL), Embase, Medline, China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI), Wanfang, Weipu and China biomedical databases on the randomized controlled trials (RCTs) of virtual reality technology for relieving pain and anxiety associated with venous puncture for children up to July 6, 2024. Risk of bias tool recommended by Cochrane library was used to evaluate the RCT quality. RevMan 5.3 software was used for statistical analysis. Results: A total of 10 RCTs involving 874 children were included. 429 children received VR intervention during vein puncture. VR was beneficial to reduce the children's self-reported pain scores [SMD=-0.48, 95% CI (− 0.61, − 0.35)], children's caregivers reported needle-related pain level [SMD=-0.93, 95% CI (-1.45, − 0.42)], children's self-reported anxiety scores [SMD=-0.45, 95% CI (− 0.65, − 0.25)], children's caregivers reported needle-related anxiety level [SMD=-0.47, 95% CI (− 0.73, − 0.21)]. Egger regression tests indicated that there were no publication biases in the synthesized outcomes (all P > 0.05). Conclusions: VR technology has been shown to effectively mitigate the pain and anxiety experienced by children during venipuncture. Objective: Employing whole‐exome sequencing (WES) technology to investigate the etiology of infantile epileptic spasm syndrome (IESS), and determining whether different etiologies exhibit phenotypic variations, while elucidating the potential associated factors, might improve short‐term responses to first‐line treatment. Methods: We retrospectively evaluated patients with IESS admitted for treatment between January 2018 and June 2023. Clinical phenotypic differences among etiological classifications and clinical manifestations were analyzed. Variable selection using the best subset method was performed, followed by logistic regression analysis to identify the factors influencing treatment response. Results: A total of 577 patients were included; 412 completed trio‐WES. Magnetic resonance imaging abnormalities were detected in 387 patients (67.1%). Patients with etiology as structural abnormalities were likelier to have non‐spasms at the initial seizure onset. A total of 532 patients completed the first‐line treatment; 273 patients received it for the first time at our hospital (initial response rates: 30.1% and 42.1%, respectively). The response group had a lower proportion of early‐onset seizures (≤3 months) than the no‐response group (11.3% vs. 23.7%, p < 0.01 and 11.3% vs. 21.5%, p = 0.03, respectively). Logistic regression analysis indicated that earlier initiation of first‐line treatment was associated with a higher likelihood of an initial response. However, the etiological classification did not have a significant impact on the initial response. Interpretation: IESS patients with structural abnormalities are more likely to present with non‐spasm seizures at initial onset. Summary: The d‐q detection method based on instantaneous reactive power theory (IRPT) is one of the commonly used time‐domain analysis methods for harmonic detection. Due to the poor dynamic performance of the algorithm caused by the low pass filter (LPF) in the d‐q detection method, an improved series repetitive control (ISRC) structure is proposed in this paper. Using attenuation factor and correction factor to improve the series repetitive controller, the ISRC contains a negative resonance peak with a peak value of 150 dB at the 6 k harmonic frequency, and the amplitude gain is 0 dB at frequencies outside the 6 k harmonic frequency. Therefore, ISRC can achieve good attenuation effect on 6 k harmonics while maintaining the same gain at other frequencies. ISRC is used instead of LPF in the traditional d‐q detection and this strategy improves the dynamic response of the system while guaranteeing its steady state performance. Due to the large-scale integration of renewable energy and the rapid growth of peak load demand, it is necessary to comprehensively consider the construction of various resources to increase the acceptance capacity of renewable energy and meet power balance conditions. However, traditional grid planning methods can only plan transmission lines, often resulting in low utilization rates of newly constructed lines. Additionally, static planning methods can only address single-target scenarios and cannot cope with dynamic growth in load and renewable energy. To address these issues, this paper proposes a multi-stage collaborative planning method for transmission networks and energy storage. This method considers the non-line substitution effect of energy storage resources and their characterization methods. It establishes the coupling relationship between resources across different planning stages to achieve coordinated multi-stage planning for transmission networks and energy storage. Based on the IEEE-24 node system and a case study in a northern province of China, the results show that the proposed method reduces investment costs by approximately 30% compared to static planning methods and by about 7.79% compared to conventional grid planning methods. Field determination and ecological risk assessment of dissolved lead (Pb) were performed at two Yellow Sea sites in China using a continuous automated electrochemical system (CAEDS). This CAEDS instrument includes an automatic triple filter sampler and an electrochemical detection water quality analyzer, which might be operated automatically four times daily. The dissolved Pb concentrations varied from 0.29 to 1.57 μg/L in the South Yellow Sea over 16 days and from 0.32 to 2.28 μg/L in the North Yellow Sea over 13 days. During the typhoon and algal bloom periods, the Pb concentration was as high as ten times greater than usual. According to the calculation of contamination factors (Cf) and subsequent analysis, seawater quality was classified as Grade II. Through species sensitivity distribution (SSD) method experiments and ecological risk analysis, an average risk quotient (RQ) below 1 for both areas was obtained, indicating a low-to-moderate ecological risk. Increasing array gains is one of the keys to improving underwater targets' detection capabilities. This paper presents a high-gain approach for a vector hydrophone vertical array (VHVA) that combines white noise gain constraint (WNGC) with vector joint processing to preserve strong robustness and provide noticeable gains. Firstly, this approach treats the VHVA as four independent sub-arrays and achieves sub-array supergains by decorrelating noise using WNGC. The beam outputs of the four sub-arrays are then equated to a single-vector hydrophone, the combination gain of which is obtained by leveraging the strong signal correlation and the weak noise correlation between the sound pressure and the particle velocity. Lastly, the sub-array supergain and combination gain are superposed to provide the spatial gain of the VHVA. It is also summarized that low-frequency signals, coherent noise, accurate elevation-angle estimation, and stable phase differences are required for the VHVA to achieve supergain. The simulation and sea trial confirm that this approach can effectively boost the array gain. The maximum spatial gain in the experiment was increased by 9 dB at a range twice the sea's depth while operating at a low frequency. Bacillus velezensis is a promising candidate for biocontrol applications. A common second messenger molecule, bis-(3,5)-cyclic-dimeric-guanosine monophosphate (c-di-GMP), has the ability to regulate a range of physiological functions that impact the effectiveness of biocontrol. However, the status of the c-di-GMP signaling pathway in biocontrol strain LQ-3 remains unknown. Strain LQ-3, which was isolated from wheat rhizosphere soil, has shown effective control of wheat sharp eyespot and has been identified as B. velezensis through whole-genome sequencing analyses. In this study, we investigated the intracellular c-di-GMP signaling pathway of LQ-3 and further performed a comparative genomic analysis of LQ-3 and 29 other B. velezensis strains. The results revealed the presence of four proteins containing the GGDEF domain, which is the conserved domain for c-di-GMP synthesis enzymes. Additionally, two proteins were identified with the EAL domain, which represents the conserved domain for c-di-GMP degradation enzymes. Furthermore, one protein was found to possess a PilZ domain, indicative of the conserved domain for c-di-GMP receptors in LQ-3. These proteins are called DgcK, DgcP, YybT, YdaK, PdeH, YkuI, and DgrA, respectively; they are distributed in a similar manner across the strains and belong to the signal transduction family. We selected five genes from the aforementioned seven genes for further study, excluding YybT and DgrA. They all play a role in regulating the motility, biofilm formation, and colonization of LQ-3. This study reveals the c-di-GMP signaling pathway associated with biocontrol features in B. velezensis LQ-3, providing guidance for the prevention and control of wheat sharp eyespot by LQ-3. Currently, the clinical cure rate for primary liver cancer remains low. Effective screening and early diagnosis of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) remain clinical challenges. Exosomes are intimately associated with tumor development and their contents have the potential to serve as highly sensitive tumor-specific markers. A comprehensive untargeted metabolomics study was conducted using exosome samples extracted from the serum of 48 subjects (36 HCC patients and 12 healthy controls) via a commercial kit. An ultra-performance liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (UPLC-MS) strategy was used to identify the metabolic compounds. A total of 18 differential metabolites were identified using the non-targeted metabolomics approach of UPLC-QTOF-MS/MS. Pathway analysis revealed significant alterations in the arachidonic acid metabolism, linoleic acid metabolism, and unsaturated fatty acid metabolism pathways. ROC analysis indicated that three metabolites with AUC values exceeding 0.900 were selected as potential biomarkers: caprylic acid and linoleic acid were upregulated in the HCC group, whereas pentadecanoic acid was downregulated. Linoleic acid, caprylic acid, and pentadecanoic acid are potential biomarkers for diagnosing HCC. Brain-like dynamics require third-order or higher-order complexity. In order to investigate the coupling neuromorphic behaviors of identical third-order memristive neurons, this paper begins with the aim of exploring two identical neuron based dynamics under distinct operating regimes and coupling strengths. Without coupling, the single neuron can exhibit resting states, periodic spikes, or chaos depending on the bias condition. The uncoupled resting neurons can be activated by resistive coupling, inducing inhomogeneous resting states (static Smale paradox) and inhomogeneous spikes (dynamic Smale paradox) due to the edge of chaos regime. Considering the single neuron at the periodic spikes or chaotic states, the coupled neurons can mimic shocking oscillation death, non-periodic asynchronization, and periodic synchronization via the Hopf bifurcation theory. From the above analyses, an artificial ring neural network is constructed using 100 memristive neurons and resistive synapses to further study the coupled mechanism, generating exotic spatiotemporal patterns such as chimera death, amplitude chimera, solitary states, and asynchronization because of symmetry breaking. A CHA-based fluorescent DNA tetrahedral probe (FDTp) has been designed to detect the microRNAs miR-21 and miR-155 sensitively and specifically in living cells. The design consisted of functional elements (H1, H2, and Protector) connected to a DNA tetrahedron modified with two pairs of fluorophores and quenching groups. In the presence of miR-21, the chain displacement effect was triggered and Cy3 fluorescence was emitted. In the presence of miR-155, the signal of the catalytic hairpin assembly (CHA) between H1 and H2 on FDTp was amplified, making the fluorescence of FAM sensitive to miR-155. Using this method, the detection limit for miR-155 was 5 pM. The FDTp successfully imaged miR-21 and miR-155 in living cells and distinguished a variety of cell lines based on their expression levels of miR-21 and miR-155. Cu‐based catalysts have been shown to selectively catalyze CO2 photoreduction to C2+ solar fuels. However, they still suffer from poor activity and low selectivity. Herein, we report a high‐performance carbon nitride supported Cu single‐atom catalyst featuring defected low‐coordination Cu‐N2 motif (Cu‐N2‐V). Lead many recently reported photocatalysts and its Cu‐N3 and Cu‐N4 counterparts, Cu‐N2‐V exhibits superior photocatalytic activity for CO2 reduction to ethanol and delivers 69.8 μmol g−1 h−1 ethanol production rate, 97.8 % electron‐based ethanol selectivity, and a yield of ~10 times higher than Cu‐N3 and Cu‐N4. Revealed by the extensive experimental investigation combined with DFT calculations, the superior photoactivity of Cu‐N2‐V stems from its defected Cu‐N2 configuration, in which the Cu sites are electron enriched and enhance electron delocalization. Importantly, Cu in Cu‐N2‐V exist in both Cu+ and Cu2+ valence states, although predominantly as Cu+. The Cu+ sites support the CO2 activation, while the co‐existence of Cu+/Cu2+ sites are highly conducive for strong *CO adsorption and subsequent *CO‐*CO dimerization enabling C−C coupling. Furthermore, the hollow microstructure of the catalyst also promotes light adsorption and charge separation efficiency. Collectively, these make Cu‐N2‐V an effective and high‐performance catalyst for the solar‐driven CO2 conversion to ethanol. As China gradually transitions towards a low-carbon energy structure, the proportion of grid-connected new energy sources like wind and solar power continues to increase. To ensure the safe and reliable operation of the power system while meeting the capacity planning for future new energy installations, there is a need for flexible resources with corresponding adjustment capabilities in the power system. In response to this situation, this paper presents an optimization model for the allocation of multiple types of flexible resources that takes into account spatiotemporal response characteristics. Firstly, a flexibility evaluation model is developed based on spatial and temporal response characteristics. Flexibility evaluation indices, such as flexibility average deficit and flexibility coverage index, are constructed. These indices are used for screening nodes with inadequate flexibility in the power system and analyzing the flexibility adequacy at various nodes. Next, the adjustment characteristics of multiple types of flexible resources are analyzed, and a model for their adjustment capabilities is established. Finally, by considering constraints based on time flexibility evaluation indices, a two-stage optimization model for flexible resource allocation is constructed. This model leverages the multiscale matching characteristics between flexibility resources and the fluctuation patterns of new energy sources to guide the allocation of flexible resources at nodes with insufficient flexibility. With the continuous construction of high-voltage direct-current (HVDC) transmission projects, higher requirements are placed on the frequency security of the regional power systems. In order to ensure the frequency security of regional power systems, this paper proposes a transient frequency analytical method considering the emergency frequency control (EFC). Firstly, the aggregated system frequency response (SFR) model is constructed by reducing the order of the generator governor equation, the EFC equation, and the load model equation. Then, based on the aggregation model, the analytical solution of the transient frequency nadir of the regional power system is derived. The model can quickly and accurately calculate the transient frequency nadir of the regional power system considering EFC after the HVDC block fault. Ink-jet-printed silk, a premium textile material, was achieved by utilizing a bio-based gardenia blue dye. However, the sharpness of the printing pattern is difficult to control due to the limited water-retention capacity of silk. To address this issue, three polysaccharide derivatives, namely, sodium alginate (SA), low-viscosity hydroxypropyl methyl cellulose (HPMC-I), and high-viscosity hydroxypropyl methyl cellulose (HPMC-II), were employed as thickeners to modify the silk by the dipping–padding method. Firstly, the preparation of the gardenia blue ink and the rheology assessment of the thickener solution were conducted. Furthermore, the impacts of different thickeners on the micro-morphology, element composition, and hydrophilicity of the silk, along with the wetting behavior of the ink on the silk, were analyzed comparatively in order to identify an appropriate thickener for preserving pattern outlines. Lastly, the color features, color fastness, and wearing characteristics of the printed silk were discussed to evaluate the overall printing quality. Research results showed that the optimized ink formulation, comprising 12% gardenia blue, 21% alcohols, and 5.5% surfactant, met the requirements for ink-jet printing (with a viscosity of 4.48 mPa·s, a surface tension of 34.12 mN/m, and a particle size of 153 nm). The HPMC-II solution exhibited prominent shear-thinning behavior, high elasticity, and thixotropy, facilitating the achievement of an even modification effect. The treatment of the silk with HPMC-II resulted in the most notable decrease in hydrophilicity. This can be attributed to the presence of filled gaps and a dense film on the fibers' surface after the HPMC-II treatment, as observed by scanning electron microscopy. Additionally, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy analysis confirmed that the HPMC-II treatment introduced the highest content of hydrophobic groups on the fiber surface. The reduced hydrophilicity inhibited the excessive diffusion and penetration of gardenia blue ink, contributing to a distinct printing image and enhanced apparent color depth. Moreover, the printed silk demonstrated qualified color fastness to rubbing and soaping (exceeding grade four), a soft handle feeling, an ignorable strength loss (below 5%), and a favorable air/moisture penetrability. Aiming at the shortcomings of traditional fault identification methods in fault information acquisition, In the scenario of hybrid HVDC transmission system, a new fault identification method is proposed by using wavelet packet energy spectrum and convolutional neural network (CNN), which effectively solves the problem of complex fault feature extraction of hybrid HVDC transmission system. This method effectively improves the accuracy of fault identification. Firstly, tThe frequency-domain characteristics of the fault transient signal are extracted by wavelet packet transform, and the feature differences are reflected in the form of energy spectrum. Secondly, according to the extracted energy feature information, the order of fault line and fault type is identified by CNN. Finally, through example verification and algorithm comparison, it is concluded that, the mentioned model has a strong ability to identify faults, and has strong anti-noise interference and tolerance to transition resistance. Purpose: The prevalence of benzodiazepines and related drugs (BZRDs) use during pregnancy increased sharply in recent years. Thus, there are concerns regarding the pregnancy outcomes following exposure to BZRDs. Methods: Two electronic databases were thoroughly searched to identify related clinical studies published from inception until June 2023. English-language cohort studies with high-quality comparing antenatal BZRDs exposure to an unexposed group on any delivery outcome were included. Results: Ten cohort studies that estimated adverse neonatal outcomes associated with exposure to BZRDs during pregnancy were included. Exposure to BZRDs during pregnancy was associated with an increased risk of congenital malformation [odds ratio (OR) 1.09, 95% confidence interval (CI) 1.05–1.13, p < 0.001], heart malformation (OR 1.13, 95% CI 1.04–1.22, p = 0.003), preterm birth (OR 1.45, 95% CI 1.23–1.7, p < 0.001), SGA (OR 1.18, 95% CI 1.08–1.29, P < 0.001), LBW (OR 1.42, 95% CI 1.25–1.6, p = 0.001) or low Apgar score (OR 1.42, 95% CI 1.08–1.87, p = 0.011),compared with no exposure. Further analyses limited to the first trimester exposure yielded consistent results. Conclusions: Exposure to BZRDs during pregnancy may be associated with several adverse neonatal outcomes. However, we could not rule out the potential indication confounding factor, further studies with high-quality that control for important confounders are still needed to verify our findings. To analyze and summarize the clinical characteristics and treatment of juvenile patients with type 1 diabetes mellitus (T1DM) complicated by early cataract. This retrospective study collected clinical data from 210 children and adolescents newly diagnosed with T1DM who were admitted to the Department of Pediatrics, Tongji Hospital (Wuhan) between 2015 and 2022. Among 210 patients with T1DM, early cataract developed within 3 months before diabetes onset and 12 months thereafter in 2 (0.95 %) patients. The two patients were both females, aged 13 and 9 years, respectively. In both cases, cataracts in both eyes appeared in the early stages of T1DM, showing a short course and rapid development. After intensive insulin treatment for stringent and stable blood glucose control, one patient underwent cataract extraction with significant improvement, and her visual acuity returned to normal. The other patient received intensive insulin therapy and insulin pump therapy for 8 years. Subsequently, she underwent cataract surgery after achieving stable blood glucose levels, without complete recovery of vision. Cataract is a rare complication in the early stages of T1DM in children and adolescents. Ophthalmic surgery is the preferred treatment for patients with diabetic cataract after achieving stable glycemic control, which may help prevent visual impairment. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Deep penetration and downregulation of heat shock protein (HSP) expression in multimodal synergistic therapy are promising approaches for curing cancer in clinical trials. However, free small‐molecule drugs and most drug vehicles have a low delivery efficiency deep into the tumor owing to poor drug penetration and hypoxic conditions at the tumor site. In this study, the objective is to use reactive oxygen species (ROS)‐responsive supramolecular gels co‐loaded with the photosensitizer Zn(II) phthalocyanine tetrasulfonic acid (ZnPCS4) and functionalized tetrahedral DNA (TGSAs) (G@P/TGSAs) to enhance deep tissue and cell penetration and block the HSP90 pathway for chemo‐ photodynamic therapy (PDT) ‐ photothermal therapy (PTT) trimodal synergistic therapy. The (G@P/TGSAs) are injected in situ into the tumor to release ZnPCS4 and TGSAs under high ROS concentrations originating from both the tumor and PDT. TGSAs penetrate deeply into tumor tissues and augment photothermal therapy by inhibiting the HSP90 pathway. Proteomics show that HSP‐related proteins and molecular chaperones are inhibited/activated, inhibiting the HSP90 pathway. Simultaneously, the TGSA‐regulated apoptotic pathway is activated. The use of trastuzumab emtansine (T‐DM1) has revealed significant efficacy in HER2‐positive metastatic breast cancer (MBC). However, optimal therapeutic strategies following T‐DM1 failure remain a subject of debate in clinical practice. In this multicenter, retrospective, real‐world study, we sought to examine the effectiveness and safety of tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs) as a therapeutic strategy in HER2‐positive MBC who developed T‐DM1 resistance. Between September 2018 and December 2022, 66 patients were enrolled. The median progression‐free survival of TKIs‐based therapy was 10.1 months (95% CI, 4.7–15.6). Objective response rate and clinical benefit rate were 18.2 and 66.7%, respectively. TKIs‐based therapy demonstrated better effectiveness in patients who had previously derived benefit from T‐DM1 and featured acquired resistance to trastuzumab. The most common adverse events were diarrhea (36, 54.5%), hand‐foot syndrome (31, 47.0%), and leucopenia (30, 45.5%). Covalent-organic frameworks (COFs) with photoinduced donor-acceptor (D-A) radical pairs show enhanced photocatalytic activity in principle. However, achieving long-lived charge separation in COFs proves challenging due to the rapid charge recombination. Here, we develop a novel strategy by combining [6 + 4] nodes to construct zyg -type 3D COFs, first reported in COF chemistry. This structure type exhibits a fused Olympic-rings-like shape, which provides a platform for stabilizing the photoinduced D-A radical pairs. The zyg -type COFs containing catalytically active moieties such as triphenylamine and phenothiazine (PTZ) show superior photocatalytic production rates of hydrogen peroxide (H2O2). Significantly, the photochromic radical states of these COFs show up to 400% enhancement in photocatalytic activity compared to the parent states, achieving a remarkable H2O2 synthesis rate of 3324 μmol g−1 h−1, which makes the PTZ-COF one of the best crystalline porous photocatalysts in H2O2 production. This work will shed light on the synthesis of efficient 3D COF photocatalysts built on topologies that can facilitate photogenerating D-A radical pairs for enhanced photocatalysis. In adapting to the double-high development trend of high-voltage direct current (HVDC) receiving-end power systems and solving optimization problems in emergency frequency control (EFC) supporting virtual power plants (VPPs) in large-scale power systems, a parameter estimation method for a VPP frequency response model based on a successive linear programming (SLP) method is proposed. First, a "centralized/decentralized" hierarchical control architecture for VPP participation in EFC is designed. Second, the frequency response characteristics of multiple flexible resources are scientifically analyzed, and the system frequency response (SFR) model and equivalent model of VPP are constructed. Recently, KTaO3 (KTO)-based 5d two-dimensional electron gases (2DEGs), characterized by robust spin–orbit coupling, have emerged as promising candidates for future spintronic devices. However, the carrier mobility of KTO-based 2DEGs is typically lower than that of SrTiO3-based 2DEGs, which limits their further development. It is imperative to explore the underlying causes of diminished carrier mobility and devise strategies to augment it. In addition, the genesis of magnetism within KTO-based 2DEGs remains ambiguous. In this study, the 2DEG within the amorphous-EuTiO3/KTO (a-ETO/KTO) heterostructure demonstrates a high electron mobility of 289.1 cm2 V−1 s−1, which exhibits a significant decrease as the film growth temperatures increase. This decrease can be primarily ascribed to electron scattering by impurities, which is induced by the amplified interfacial element interdiffusion at a higher film growth temperature. In addition, the magnetism of 2DEGs for samples grown at different temperatures shows an increasing trend with growth temperatures, which is predominantly derived from the interdiffusion of Eu atoms. This study provides an in-depth analysis of the origin of magnetic ordering and reduced mobility in KTO-based 2DEGs, which will promote the further development of 2DEGs for future applications in electronic devices. Weaknesses generated in asphalt pavement structures have a serious impact on the service life of pavements. In order to improve such situations and achieve the goal of enhancing the durability of the pavement structure, this study assesses the performance of heavy-duty asphalt and high-viscosity asphalt, using four high-performance asphalt mixtures: heavy-duty AC-20, high-viscosity AC-20, heavy-duty SMA-13, and heavy-duty SMA-10. Three composite pavement structures were designed: 3 cm SMA-10 + 3 cm SMA-10, 4 cm SMA-13 + 4 cm SMA-10, and 6 cm SMA-13 + 4 cm AC-20. Interlayer performance analysis was conducted on single-layer and composite structures through oblique shear tests; dynamic modulus, fatigue life, and antirutting performance tests on asphalt pavement structural layers were designed and conducted, and the durability performance of high-performance asphalt pavement structural layers was evaluated. The experimental results show that the shear strength of heavy-duty AC is higher than that of heavy-duty SMA, the 4 + 4 combination structure has the best shear strength, the 6 + 4 combination structure has the best structural performance and fatigue resistance, and the 3 + 3 combination structure has the best high-temperature antirutting performance. The comprehensive performance of the 4 + 4 structure is the best among the three combined structures, followed by that of the 6 + 4 structure, and the performance of the 3 + 3 structure is the worst. In addition, this study used bonding energy as an evaluation index and verified the applicability of the bonding energy evaluation index by studying four types of single-layer pavement structures and three types of composite pavement structures. Intelligent reflecting surface (IRS) is considered the core technology of the next generation of mobile communications, which can effectively improve the performance of millimeter wave (mmWave) communication systems by providing additional line of sight (LoS) path to compensate propagation losses or solve blocking problems. Aerial IRS (AIRS) deployed on aerial platforms such as drones and hot air balloons combine the high mobility/rotation characteristics of aerial platforms with the quality link characteristics provided by IRS to provide wider signal coverage than traditional ground IRS. Considering the mobility of users in the real world, it is necessary for the communication system to adjust the beamforming in real time to align the beamforming to the mobile users. However, since AIRS do not have active radio frequency chains, it is difficult to obtain angle of departure and angle of arrival at AIRS, and its deployment significantly increases the complexity of beam tracking. To solve this problem, a AIRS assisted mmWave multiple input multiple output (MIMO) system model with time-varying channels is established. Combining active beamforming at the base station, AIRS rotation angle and passive beamforming design, a cascade angle untracked Kalman filter beam tracking scheme is proposed. Many animals undergo indirect development, where their embryogenesis produces an intermediate life stage, or larva, that is often free‐living and later metamorphoses into an adult. As their adult counterparts, larvae can have unique and diverse morphologies and occupy various ecological niches. Given their broad phylogenetic distribution, larvae have been central to hypotheses about animal evolution. However, the evolution of these intermediate forms and the developmental mechanisms diversifying animal life cycles are still debated. This review focuses on Spiralia, a large and diverse clade of bilaterally symmetrical animals with a fascinating array of larval forms, most notably the archetypical trochophore larva. We explore how classic research and modern advances have improved our understanding of spiralian larvae, their development, and evolution. Specifically, we examine three morphological features of spiralian larvae: the anterior neural system, the ciliary bands, and the posterior hyposphere. The combination of molecular and developmental evidence with modern high‐throughput techniques, such as comparative genomics, single‐cell transcriptomics, and epigenomics, is a promising strategy that will lead to new testable hypotheses about the mechanisms behind the evolution of larvae and life cycles in Spiralia and animals in general. We predict that the increasing number of available genomes for Spiralia and the optimization of genome‐wide and single‐cell approaches will unlock the study of many emerging spiralian taxa, transforming our views of the evolution of this animal group and their larvae. Unlike previous phase diagram studies, we choose variables related to wave speed as the coordinate axis, which led us to discover some interesting bifurcation phenomena.
