The CsYP2O7 compound was synthesized by the classical "solid-state" reaction. The phase identification of the obtained samples was performed by X-ray diffraction proving their crystallization in the monoclinic structure with the P21/c space group. Its morphology and the particle size were evaluated by scanning electron microscope (SEM). The impedance spectroscopy technique was used in order to understand the evolution of the electrical behavior and the relaxation process in this material. Accordingly, the experimental data of the Nyquist were fitted to the equivalent circuit created by a series combination of two cells. As a matter of fact, the DC conductivity exhibits a semiconductor behavior. The AC conductivity obeys the Jonscher's law. The close values, of activation energies, obtained from the dc-conductivity and hopping frequencies, prove that the transport of the charge carrier happens through an ion hopping mechanism, influenced by the motion of the Cs+ cations within the structure of CsYP2O7. The electrical modulus confirms the existence of non-Debye type relaxation behavior. The optical properties of UV–visible spectroscopy for our sample showed that the gap value is equal to 3.7 eV. Optical techniques are now broadly used in the field of experimental mechanics. The main advantages are they are non intrusive and no contact. Moreover optical techniques lead to full spatial resolution displacement maps enabling the computing of mechanical value also in high spatial resolution. For mesoscopic measurements, digital image correlation can be used. Digital holographic interferometry is well suited for quantitative measurement of very small displacement maps on the microscopic scale. This paper presents a detailed analysis so as to compare digital Fresnel holography and digital image-plane holography. The analysis is based on both theoretical and experimental analysis. Particularly, a theoretical analysis of the influence of the aperture and lens in the case of image-plane holography is proposed. Aims: Construction and characterization of a new cloning shuttle vector for gene transfer and expression in Bacillus thuringiensis. Methods and Results: A novel short and high-copy number shuttle vector called pHBLBIV, was constructed for gene transfer and expression in Bacillus thuringiensis. A 1·6-kbp replicon of a relatively high-copy number endogenous plasmid of a selected B. thuringiensis strain was ligated to Escherichia coli pUC18 replicon containing the ampicillin and the erythromycin resistance genes used for the selection of respectively E. coli and B. thuringiensis transformants. The constructed vector was shown to have a high copy number compared with the conventional B. thuringiensis vectors, and used successfully for the transfer of vegetative insecticidal protein-encoding gene ( vip) in between B. thuringiensis strains. Conclusions: A new shuttle vector of B. thuringiensis– E. coli named pHBLBIV was constructed. It was characterized by its high copy number, small size and segregational stability. This vector was successfully used for vip gene cloning and transfer in B. thuringiensis. Significance and Impact of the Study: A novel shuttle vector has been constructed, which has demonstrated potential for the cloning and expression of genes in B. thuringiensis. The assembly within a single optoelectronic interconnect module of different components, including vertical-cavity semiconductor lasers and photodiode arrays, optical fibers, and electronics implying electrical, optical, mechanical, and thermal interactions, introduces new constraints in the conception phase and necessitates a new and different approach for modeling and simulation. A promising solution, when conceiving optoelectronic microelectromechanical systems, is obtained by simulation with the multilevel language VHDL-AMS based on system component parameters and standards. This paper presents a short study of 17 cases of tuberculosis of the greater trochanter seen during a period of 19 years at the National Orthopaedic Institute in Tunis. The onset of the infection is slow with patients presenting at a mean of 7 years after initial symptoms. The diagnosis is confirmed by biopsy and culture of the organism. Management is based on treatment with antituberculous drugs, although surgical excision of the lesion is sometimes required. Successful resolution of the symptoms is usually achieved unless the hip joint becomes involved. Our patients showed good results at a mean follow up of 5 1/2 years. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
